Google is pushing out an improved Messages app that displays iPhone users’ replies as emojis on Android devices. Additionally, the update also allows iOS users to receive top quality images as well as videos from Android phones via Google Photos links. The new Message app update is said to be available to Android smartphones in the coming days or weeks. When Android and iPhone users communicate with one other, not everything works as it should. This is because these discussions employ SMS, an outmoded messaging standard, rather than RCS, a contemporary, more secure industry standard used by Android that supports high-quality videos, emoji replies, end-to-end encryption, and other features. With the latest Message app update, Google has worked upon some improvements addressing the Android and iPhone conversations.Reactions from iPhone users are now shown as emojis on your Android phone, much like when you message someone who uses an Android smartphone. Beginning with English-only devices, other languages will be added in the future.Additionally, with the integrations of Google Photos into Messages, everyone can now watch your videos in the same resolution that you do. You can send your videos as Google Photos links directly from within the conversation, preserving their clarity. You’ll soon be able to submit photographs this way as well.In addition, the redesigned Messages app organises your message inbox by automatically categorising messages into Personal and Business tabs. An organised inbox automatically classifies your messages into Personal and Business tabs so you can simply find what you need at any given time. Furthermore, you may configure one-time password messages to be automatically erased after 24 hours to help decrease clutter even further. This was initially introduced in India and is now extending to the United States. It also prompts you to respond to missed messages and reminds you to wish your loved ones a happy birthday. If you save someone’s birthday in your device’s contacts app, you’ll get a friendly reminder when you open Messages or start a discussion with them. With the latest Message app update comes Gentle nudges that can now remind you to respond to communications you may have missed or need to follow up on, ensuring that nothing crucial falls through the cracks. This will begin with English users throughout the world.

OnePlus 9RT review: Design and Display
We were really impressed by the design of the OnePlus 9RT. The smartphone has a metallic curved frame which makes it easy to hold and also enhances one-handed usage. The ‘silk glass’ rear panel of the device comes with a matte frosted finish that sort of gives a sandish texture to the surface. In total, it gives a very premium look to the handset, which is available in Hacker Black and Nano Silver colour options. Speaking further about the back panel of the OnePlus 9RT, it houses the camera module that comes with three lenses, and the company branding lies right in the centre. The right edge of the smartphone houses the alert slider and the Power button, while the left one has the volume rocker key. The USB Type-C port, speaker grille, microphone, and SIM tray are on the bottom edge while the top only has the secondary microphone. Flip over and you’ll see the 6.62-inch AMOLED full HD+ display that is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The screen has a fingerprint scanner towards the bottom and it houses a selfie camera on the top-left. The bezels that outline the screen of the device are rather thin and even the relatively thicker chin cannot be termed as thick. The colours showcased on the display of the smartphone are vibrant and they remain consistent at different viewing angles. The images projected are sharp and clear and the brightness level is just apt. The sunlight readability of the device is decent too. We watched a number of videos on the OnePlus 9RT and we have to say that the experience was an enjoyable one. In a nutshell, the design and display were both positive aspects of the smartphone and we were really impressed by both.
OnePlus 9RT review: Performance and Cameras
Before we speak about the performance of the OnePlus 9RT, let’s take a minute to discuss its specifications. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC and it packs an 8GB/12GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of internal storage. The handset has support for 5G and comes with three Wi-Fi antennas, besides the usual connectivity options. The smartphone also comes with a vapour chamber cooling system for heat dissipation but lacks an IP rating and wireless charging. It runs Android 11 skinned with OxygenOS 11.3 and houses a 4,500mAh battery. With the said software, one can find a number of customizations in the phone, just like other devices from the company. OnePlus 9RT offers a great experience when it comes to performance. You can switch between multiple apps and tabs of Chrome like it’s a cakewalk and the fingerprint scanner works wonderfully every time. No matter how heavy an app you use on the phone, it works very seamlessly and is quick to launch. We often watched Netflix while using navigation (we weren’t the ones driving), and not once did the device heat up. Playing games was not an issue either. Even games like Asphalt 9: Legends that come with heavy graphics could be played without any hiccups on the handset. The sound output of the OnePlus 9RT was good too, and so was the battery life. The 4,500mah battery lasted a day and a half with usage involving watching videos, using social media apps and phone calls. Coming to the cameras of the device, they were certainly another aspect that left us impressed. OnePlus 9RT comes with a 50MP sensor, a 16MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro lens. On the front panel too, there is a 16MP selfie snapper. The camera app comes with a button for AI scene enhancement and dual view video recording. It also comes with a Hi-Res mode for a 108MP photo. As expected, the primary sensor did a good job during the day, especially outdoors. The colours were vibrant, but some may find them to be a little too saturated in a few pictures. The results were a little inconsistent with the Portrait mode.A lot more area gets fitted into the picture with the ultra-wide camera, but the image quality drops. The macro lens did a good job too, but only when lighting conditions were favourable. If there was a camera that performed well under low-lit conditions, it was the main camera of the smartphone. It did a good job even without the Night Mode enabled, and we consider this to be a big plus. The selfie camera’s performance was decent in well-lit conditions.
Verdict
At a starting price of Rs 42,999, the OnePlus 9RT definitely makes a great buy. With a beautiful design, vibrant display, super-smooth performance, a lasting battery life, and a great main camera, it can easily be called an all-rounder. The other two cameras could be better and an IP rating and wireless charging could have been accommodated, given the price point. But if these aren’t a big deal to you, you would not be disappointed.OnePlus 9RT Pros

The iPhone SE 2022 is Apple’s most recent and most affordable handset to date. The phone has the same body factor as its predecessor, the iPhone SE, which was released two years ago. The new iPhone SE is powered by Apple’s most powerful A15 Bionic SoC, which is also used in the flagship iPhone 13 Series. Because the iPhone SE is the most inexpensive smartphone in this article, we will compare it to the more affordable iPhone 13 mini, as both phones are tiny in size and have few commonalities. If you want to buy an iPhone, here’s a comparison between the new iPhone SE and the iPhone 13 mini.

The iPhone 13 mini, on the other hand, sports a larger, better display with narrow bezels. However, both smartphones have comparable software and processors. The camera sensors are almost the same. Note that all of the iPhone 13 models include faceID whereas SE still settles for a Touch ID and home button. However, the 13th generation features a dual configuration on the rear, whilst the competition has a single wide lens.Meanwhile, a story has arisen on the internet saying that the new iPhone SE performance is similar to that of the iPhone 13 mini because both handsets are reported to have the same RAM capacity and processor. So if you want the iPhone 13 mini, you’ll have to spend a little extra. Another point to add is that even if you pick the greater storage model of the SE, it will still be less expensive than the base model of mini. Also, if you are a first-time user, we recommend going with the iPhone SE 2022.

Asus usually brings out a new ROG phone in the mid of the year, however, this time they have brought out a new version or an upgraded version of sorts of the ROG Phone 5. There have been enhancements made and this is the Asus ROG Phone 5s review, you all need to check out before buying the device.
In This Article
Asus ROG Phone 5S review: Design and Display
Well, honestly, everything from the box to the smartphone itself reminds us of the Asus ROG Phone 5. Same packaging, similar design, port placement, air triggers are what you get on the new Asus ROG Phone 5S, too. On the front, you get a 6.78-inch display that is not edge to edge, but two thick bands run on top and bottom. This has been kept for better game ergonomics. The display has a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and no screen protector, just like the last edition.
The screen has FHD+ resolution (2,448 x 1080 pixels) and a 144Hz refresh rate, which is the best seen in any smartphone. It is a Samsung AMOLED display that the Asus ROG Phone 5S uses with a 1MS response time. We loved spending time with this display. Everything from playing games like Asphalt 9 and BGMI to watching movies on Netflix was a superior experience. The daylight visibility of the screen is also very good and the colours do not wash down when seen under direct sunlight.
Talking a bit more about the aesthetics of the smartphone, the Asus ROG Phone 5S comes with a glass back (CG 3) with a metal side frame. On the frame, you get two air triggers on the right side along with the volume rocker and power buttons, which are placed perfectly well and within reach when using the phone with one hand. The left side has the secondary charging USB Type-C port along with the power point for the Aero Active cooler (sold separately). The dual SIM tray can also be found here.
At the bottom of the Asus ROG Phone 5S, you get the primary USB Type-C charging port, Primary MIC and a 3.5mm audio port. At the top you get another MIC, in total there are 4 MICs on this smartphone. The Rear has the ROG branding and its LOGO is lit with LED lights. These are RGB lights and can be controlled via the X mode settings. There are three cameras in a ROG style camera bump placed on the back of the smartphone with an LED flash. Overall, the design of the phone has been seen before, yet still is very modern.
Asus ROG Phone 5s review: Performance and Cameras
Before speaking of the Asus ROG Phone 5s performance, let’s shed some light on the tech specs of the smartphone. The 5s comes with an Octa-Core Snapdragon 888+ CPU that clocks at 2.99GHz. The graphics are provided by Adreno 660 and when it comes to RAM and storage, it is available in 8GB RAM and 128GB Storage and 12GB RAM with 256GB UFS 3.1 Storage versions in India. While there are higher RAM and storage configurations available in other countries, India right now does not have them. We are testing the one that has 8GB RAM.
Overall, even with less RAM, we did not see any lag on the smartphone when using it. Even with Android 11 out of the box, the OS and apps open smoothly. Everything is fluid, however, you do get to see an occasional stutter when demanding games run on it, but 9 out of 10 times all the games ran very-very well. There is WiFi 6 also on this smartphone and we did not face any disconnection issues in the device, which many of you asked us over social media.
The smartphone does get a little warm after 30 minutes of gaming, but then cools down very quickly too when you stop gaming. If you are a hardcore gamer, we do recommend using the Aero cooler with it. Asus has used a better vapour and heat removal system in the Asus ROG Phone 5s, which seems to work, but still, an Aero cooler is needed for prolonged lag-free gaming sessions.
The air triggers still are best in the system and are the preferred choice when playing games like BGMI. A 30W charger comes in the box, but this one can fast charge with a 67W charger. Amazingly, only the supplied charger works with the Asus ROG Phone 5s, if you use any other charger it will not work. There are 2 x 3,000mAh (6,000 mAh total) batteries inside, which charge very rapidly. Also, the additional USB Type-C charging port on the left means you can have uninterrupted gaming sessions, even when the charger is attached. However, that increases the heat being driven on the back panel. After nominal use, we got over 22 hours of battery life from it. But if you game a lot, you will get between 5-7 hours of continuous gaming.
Moving to the cameras, the Asus ROG Phone 5s has three cameras available on the back of the smartphone. The primary one is the 64M wide-angle lens via which we got some really good shots indoors and outdoors. The images came out crisp and colours were close to life. The quality went down a lot when clicking at night or in very low light. So our suggestion is to turn on the flash if you want great party shots.
The next one is the 13MP ultrawide lens, which is okay-ish. It is there in case you need it, but all your primary work will be done by the 64MP one. The third sensor is a 5MP macro lens, which is quite good. We took close shots of food and plants from a few centimetres away and it delivered very good shots, just not in low light. Videos here can be recorded in 8K at 30 FPS, which are not the best so we moved it down to 4K at 60FPS and that was where we squeezed out realistic moving pictures.
On the front, users get a 24MP wide sensor which is good for basic selfie use. Remember, this is a gaming smartphone so do not expect the best shots to come from the front camera. Saying that, we did manage to get good shots in daylight. Again, at night the rear camera with the LED flash on will give you better results.
The company supplies the Asus ROG Phone 5s with two speakers with stereo sound. That is good if you watching a movie with a friend, but when gaming you would want to connect the 3.5mm wired earphones for the best results. For security, there is an in-display fingerprint sensor, which is not the best in class, but 7 out of 10 times will work.
Verdict
All in all, Asus has rectified a lot of things in this version of the smartphone. There is a lot done and more to do. For example, Android 12 would have been better. Yet, if you are in the market looking for a good gaming smartphone under Rs 50,000, you can look at this option.
