Sony announced new SRS-XG300, SRS-XE300 and SRS-XE200 portable speakers launched in India

Sony has today announced the launch of three portable speakers in India. The new range includes three new models – the SRS-XG300, SRS-XE300 and SRS-XE200. The new Sony portable speakers come with Live Sound and Mega Bass features. Moreover, they have an X-Balanced Speaker Unit and support fast charging. The portable speakers from Sony, the SRS-XG300, SRS-XE300, and SRS-XE200, include the company’s proprietary X-Balanced Speaker Unit, which improves sound quality and power. The new X-Series wireless speakers include a non-circular diaphragm, which maximises the area of the speaker diaphragm and increases sound pressure for a more powerful bass. According to the company, this differs from the circular diaphragm in a typical speaker unit. While keeping the same sound pressure, it also lessens driver excursion. SRS-XG300 High sound quality and strong sound pressure are achieved by the X-Balanced Speaker Unit with a non-circular diaphragm for a richer, deeper, and more immersive listening experience. The newly created speaker system enables the reduction of amplitude at the same sound pressure level while increasing emphasis on mid and low-frequency sound. The Live Sound Mode is also included on the SRS-XG300, SRS-XE300 and SRS-XE200. The function mimics the special environment for live music encounters. The DSP technique maintains the main sound while dispersing the background noise to produce a convincing three-dimensional sound. Additionally, the speaker is vertically slanted to cover a larger area, and Sony’s own Line-Shaper Diffuser technology creates a line source and distributes it more evenly.
SRS-XE300
SRS-XE300
Another distinctive feature from Sony that boosts the bass is Mega Bass. You may easily ratchet up the bass to achieve a deep and powerful bass sound by turning on Mega Bass. The SRS-integrated XG300’s front tweeter, MEGA BASS capabilities, and deep, club-like bass provide listeners with crystal-clear high-frequency sounds. The SRS-LIVE XG300’s SOUND feature makes it possible for you to relive your favourite live performances and recreate that special environment. You may add colour to your party or listening experience with the “Ambient Illumination” feature to give it a contemporary, fashionable, and sophisticated feel. The illumination accommodates any lifestyle and syncs with musical beats. The ambient lighting maintains the pace and can be customised to your mood with the Sony Music Center app, whether it is for regular use or a party. The SRS-XG300 has a retractable handle that makes it simple to take around and is made to be used wherever you are. The speaker blends seamlessly into any interior when the handle is down.
SRS-XE200
SRS-XE200
The Sony SRS-XG300, SRS-XE300, and SRS-XE200 have an IP67 rating, so water and dust are not a concern, making them perfect for any situation. Due to comprehensive shock testing, the SRS-XE300 and SRS-XE200 can also endure the unavoidable knocks, bumps, and scratches that come with regular use. The Sony SRS-XG300 can play music for up to 25 hours after being fully charged. While the SRS-XE200 only delivers 16 hours of play, the SRS-XE300 offers 24 hours. All three of Sony’s speakers include quick charging capabilities, ensuring that you never run out of battery power when you need it most. You can play these new speakers for 70 minutes after a simple 10-minute charge. Ambient Noise Sensing is another feature available on the SRS-XE300 and SRS-XE200. When used outside, Sony’s innovative ambient noise analysis technology helps you conserve battery life. Party Connect is a feature included with all three speakers that allow you to sync your music with up to 100 Bluetooth-compatible wireless speakers for an epically loud sound. For amazing stereo sound, use Stereo Pair to wirelessly link two speakers. In terms of pricing, the SRS-XG300 will be available at Rs 26,990. While the price of the SRS-XE300 and SRS-XE200 is set at Rs 19,990 and 12,990 respectively. The SRS-XG300 wireless speakers will be offered in India starting on August 25, 2022, in Sony retail locations (Sony Center and Sony Exclusive), the www.ShopatSC.com portal, major electronics retailers, and other e-commerce websites. The SRS-XE300 and SRS-XE200 will be offered from September 10 and September 30, respectively. Who unfollowed me on Instagram? The simplest and fastest way to find out (2022)

0
If you use Instagram frequently you may have noticed that Instagram doesn’t notify you whenever someone unfollows you. While you do get follow notifications, the only way you can tell someone unfollowed you is if you keep a close look on your follower counter and notice it go down. Even then there is no way of knowing who unfollowed you unless you investigate further. You can do this by scrolling through your follower list and figuring out who doesn’t follow you anymore. Or you can simply look up someone’s name in your follower list to check if they still follow you. This process can take a while and you may not even figure out who unfollowed you. The only way of getting a notification every time someone unfollows you is by using a third-party app for Instagram. In this article, we show you how to find out who unfollowed you on Instagram using a third-party app. Read Also: What is the difference: Twitter mute vs Twitter unfollow

Use a third-party app to find out who unfollowed you on Instagram

Firstly, you should know that once you log in to a third-party app it gets access to all of your Instagram data. It may even ask permission to access your phone’s gallery and location. There is always a certain risk involved while using third-party apps as they may sell your personal data to advertisers, or worse, be vulnerable to data breaches, putting your account’s security at risk. We suggest you exercise caution while using these apps. Secondly, you cannot retroactively check who unfollowed you on Instagram by installing a third-party app. You will only get unfollow notifications from the time you start using the app. That being in mind, there are a few third-party apps, like ‘Followers & Unfollowers’ and ‘Follow Meter’, that will notify you every time someone unfollows you. Here’s how you can set it up. Step 1: Download the ‘Followers & Unfollowers’ app from the Google Play Store. Step 1: Download the ‘Followers & Unfollowers’ app from the Google Play Store. Are third-party Instagram apps safe to use?

iQOO 9T Review: Bang for the buck

Vivo’s subsidiary iQOO has been putting out spec-heavy smartphones at competitive prices for a while now, with the iQOO Neo 6, Z6, and 9 Pro doing fairly well in the market. On top of that, the bold design choices and firm build make iQOO’s products stand out. Every new player faces some initial challenges and roadblocks when it comes to establishing its brand, but iQOO seems set to carve out a notable market share for itself, having no misses in its product catalogue. We’ve been testing iQOO’s latest offering, the iQOO 9T, for almost a week now, and have been quite impressed with its overall performance. Are there aspects we’d like to see improved upon in the future? Certainly. But for now, iQOO surely holds its own in the highly competitive mid-premium smartphone category. Here is our comprehensive iQOO 9T review for our lovely audience who are planning to buy a new mid-segment smartphone. Read Also: Best smartphones with Android 12

iQOO 9T review: Design and Display

The iQOO 9T is currently available in two variants – the all-black Alpha and the BMW-partnered Legend versions. The only point of difference between the two versions is the back panel, where the Legend version boasts the three BMW stripes along the white back. For the review, we got our hands on the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage Legend version, which is currently priced at Rs 54,999. The 8GB + 128GB version can be bought for Rs 49,999.
iQOO 9T review: Design and Display
iQOO 9T: Unboxed
The iQOO 9T (Legend) comes in a rectangular all-black box with iQOO and BMW Motorsport branding on it. Inside, you’ll find the smartphone, a clear protective cover, a power adapter with a USB Type-C charging cable, and the warranty card with a quick start guide. The smartphone has a Gorilla Glass 5 front and a glass back. The aluminium frame feels quite sturdy when you’re holding the phone and gives it a more premium feel. Weighing almost 206g, the iQOO 9T certainly makes its presence felt.

iQOO 9T: Back Panel
Flipping it around, you’ll notice the bolder design choices, with one-third of the back panel dedicated to the camera unit. This shiny black portion has a very glossy feel to it, and you’ll find the V1+ branding alongside the camera unit. The camera unit itself is quite eye-catching, consisting of a 50MP primary lens, a 13MP ultrawide lens, and a 12MP telephoto lens. The LED flash sits at the bottom of the unit. At the lower end of the back, you’ll find the iconic blue, violet, and red BMW stripes running along the side with iQOO branding and the BMW ‘Fascination Meets Innovation’ tag imposed on top of it. The stripes offer a great contrast to the white panel, but the ‘Fascination Meets Innovation’ text seems pretty contrived and unnecessary on an otherwise great design.

iQOO 9T: Top View, Bottom View, & Side View
The USB Type-C charging port is housed at the bottom of the phone along with the primary speaker, microphone, and SIM card slot. The secondary speaker and infrared blaster find their way to the top. The volume rocker key and power button are placed on the right side of the frame, leaving the left side button free.  Moving on, the iQOO 9T offers a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. The E5 AMOLED display can reach a peak brightness of 1,500 nits and comes with HDR10+ certification. Even in bright outdoor surrounds, the display performed well and we didn’t find ourselves struggling to browse the phone with a hand covering the screen.
iQOO 9T review: Design and Display
iQOO 9T: Display
We played content on YouTube and Netflix, and the display was able to translate the high-resolution videos quite well, producing vivid and sharp images without a drop in quality. The 87.4% screen-to-body ratio and 388 ppi density also pitch in to create an immersive viewing experience. The dual speakers do a decent job of producing a passable audio output, and you won’t feel the need to have your headphones on all the time. While gaming, the refresh rates held up quite well. Unlike the iQOO 9 Pro, the 9T is only able to switch between 60Hz and 120Hz. But the standard touch sampling rate of 360Hz and the immensely impressive instant touch sampling rate of 1200Hz are able to produce a brilliant gameplay experience. The ‘Monster Touch’ is able to map the triggering points on either side of the screen and can identify four finger touches. We’ll dive into the gaming experience later in the review. With the iQOO 9T, you also get an in-display fingerprint sensor which, while not being the fastest in this category, works quite smoothly. Overall, we were quite pleased with the display and touch reception. If you’re looking for a smartphone that can enhance the gaming experience with its cutting-edge display, iQOO 9T should definitely be on your list.

iQOO 9T review: Performance and Camera

The iQOO 9T is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, which has been capturing flattering headlines everywhere, already being hailed as a remarkable improvement over its predecessor. This chipset is paired with the Adreno 730 GPU. On top of that, it is also equipped with Vivo’s V1+ chip which increases the frame rate and optimises the colours on the screen, along with helping in noise reduction while capturing pictures and videos in Night Mode. We put these specs to test by playing Garena Free Fire MAX, Apex Legends, and FIFA Mobile. The SD8+ shines in this aspect, with the gameplay being totally throttle free with no lag or frame drops whatsoever. The Vapor Chamber Cooling System does a brilliant job of handling the temperature of the phone, and we didn’t notice any overheating at all even after an hour of playing Apex on it. Even when the phone got warmer over an extended period of gameplay, the game itself was not affected by it. The ‘Monster Mode’ makes full use of the processor, activating the ‘Monster Touch’ and going into high-performance mode. The battery will naturally deplete faster in this mode, but the performance is unparalleled and you’re bound to get the most out of your device. Highly recommended for gamers. When it comes to general usage, you can feel the upgraded processor pulling its weight with dozens of apps running in the background and negligible load time. Even while using the split screen mode, we didn’t get to notice any pesky lags or drops in speed. The phone works seamlessly no matter what heavy tasks you throw at it. The iQOO 9T scored 1,276 points on the Geekbench 5 test, which placed it above OnePlus 10T and even the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. Quite impressive for a phone that is priced at just Rs 49,999.
Performance and Camera
iQOO 9T: Geekbench 5 test result
The 4,700 mAh battery puts in a great performance as well. The phone lasted an entire day with an additional 20-30% left to spare. We used the iQOO 9T as the primary driver and even with more than an hour of gaming and above-average screen time, the battery held up quite well. The 120W power charger fully replenished the battery in almost 25 minutes, which is something not many smartphones can boast about. Moving on to the OS, the iQOO 9T runs on Android 12 with Vivo’s Funtouch 12 OS on top of it. This is where we have slight issues with iQOO. The Funtouch 12 OS offers a pretty generic UI that doesn’t feel like anything special. It certainly takes a bit away from the ‘premium’ experience that iQOO 9T is striving for. There are a bunch of themes you can download and customise your phone with, but they all seem gaudy and excessive.  The extra animations also drain the battery out faster. iQOO could’ve benefited from Android’s Material You, but they seem to be putting a lot of faith in the Funtouch OS. However, the ‘Ultra-game’ mode is a nice feature, that can be drawn over the game you’re playing and offers quick shortcuts for voice changer, screen record, WhatsApp picture-in-picture, and esports mode. The processor and battery usage levels are also listed along with the shortcuts.
Performance and Camera
Outdoor shot with the 50MP Primary Lens
Coming to the camera, the iQOO 9T again performed better than we expected. Pictures taken from the 50MP ISOCELL GN5 primary rear lens were of brilliant quality, in both indoor and outdoor surroundings. The colours produced were vivid and the images overall were quite detailed and sharp. The enhancement from the processor is noticeable as the colours do ‘pop’ quite a bit. It may feel oversaturated to some, but we found the results to our liking.
Performance and Camera
Outdoor Shot with 13MP Ultrawide Lens
The 12MP telephoto and 13MP ultrawide also put in an adequate performance, but the drop in colour levels is noticeable when you compare it with the primary lens. The telephoto lens offers 2x optical zoom and produces detailed images even when you’re utilizing the zoom.
Performance and Camera
Portrait Mode
The photo modes offered by the camera come in handy in different situations. The portrait mode has an intuitive edge detection which works quite well without having to move the camera around a lot. The Night Mode is what impressed us the most, as the images captured were very sharp with minimal noise, thanks to the V1+ chip.
Performance and Camera
Regular shot vs Night Mode
The processor does a great job of brightening up the images without messing with the subject in the frame. Other modes offered include the Pro Sport Mode which can capture a moving subject with ease, and the dual view mode which lets you record from the front and rear camera at the same time. Also offered are the Pro Mode, Slo-Mo, Ultra-HD Document, and Panoramic mode. The 16MP front selfie camera is decent and on par with other smartphones in this category. It can record 1080p videos at 30fps and comes with gyro-EIS which offers greater image stabilisation. The rear camera can record 4k and 1080p videos at 30 and60 fps. Verdict

In terms of performance, the iQOO 9T can match any of the premium smartphones that are above its category. The design and looks are refreshing and the phone certainly stands out among its competition. For the price of Rs 49,999, you’ll be hard-pressed to find any other phone that offers these specs. Our only minor complaint is with the Funtouch 12 OS, which lacks any real personality of its and seems quite generic. But overall, the iQOO 9T should be an ideal smartphone for enthusiasts and casual users alike.

Pros

  • Fast processor
  • Display
  • Gaming Performance
  • Fast Charging

Cons

  • OS needs a slight boost

How much iPhone Storage do I need? And how often should I change my iPhone? A complete guide

With the new iPhone series set to launch on 7th September, we thought it would be a good idea to walk you through the storage capacity on offer and decide which one is most suited for your needs. With new iPhones coming out every year, some users are also left wondering whether it is time to upgrade their current iPhones. We tackle this question as well and explain how often you should change or upgrade your iPhone. Read Also: The launch date for the iPhone 14 Series is reportedly set for September 7

How much iPhone storage do you need?

How much iPhone storage do you need? There is no ‘ideal’ storage for an iPhone. The iPhone storage you opt for is entirely dependent upon what you use your iPhone for. Before buying a new iPhone you should be clear about what you want out of it. Apple does not offer expandable memory for its devices, so once you buy an iPhone you’re stuck with the storage space until you upgrade your device. Currently, Apple offers iPhones with a storage capacity of 64GB (iPhone SE) all the way to 1TB (iPhone 13 Pro Max). So which one is the best for you?
  • 64GB: Simply put, 64GB is just not enough for average smartphone use. The iOS updates and app data will take up a sizeable portion of the storage stuff, leaving you with very little space to store your files, pictures, videos, and emails. With this amount of storage space, you will find yourself being heavily dependent on cloud storage. We would only recommend 64GB storage to people who want a phone for very light use outside of the basic functions, or if they’re looking for a secondary phone to go with their primary driver.
  • 128GB: 128GB of storage space is ideal for moderate use. You wouldn’t have to worry about running out of space while taking pictures or downloading apps on your phone, but if you plan on recording and storing a lot of 4k videos on your phone or playing heavy games like Apex Legends and Call of Duty, 128GB of storage space just won’t cut it. If you’re a vlogger and use the iPhone as your primary shooting camera, you would want to switch to a better storage model.
  • 256GB: For regular users, 256GB is more than necessary. You’ll barely find yourself using cloud storage for pictures and other media. You would also be able to store tons of music and movies offline on your device. You can even download multiple console-quality games like Fortnite, Apex Legends, and Genshin Impact.  If you spend a lot of time on your phone, this is the storage space you should be looking for.
  • 512GB: If you’re a content creator who shoots videos using the iPhone camera, 512GB of storage space should be ideal for you. You can store all your vlog footage in 4k without having to be overly reliant on cloud storage. This spec is recommended for users who plan on creating content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube.
  • 1TB: For most users, 1TB of storage space is overkill. You can save up a lot of money by going for smaller storage space. But if you plan on using the iPhone for professional use, this storage capacity is ideal for you. With 1TB of storage, you will be able to store tons of footage shot in Apple ProRAW and ProRes format.

How often should I change my iPhone?

How often should I change my iPhone? With new iPhones coming out every year, it is quite easy to give in to temptation and buy the latest one on offer. While using a new iPhone with all its updated features is always a pleasant experience, most users like to stick with their smartphone until it is absolutely necessary to get an upgrade. If you’re wondering whether you should change or upgrade your iPhone, here are some signs you can look out for.
  • Your iPhone has stopped getting software updates: Usually, Apple is pretty consistent with rolling out new software updates for old iPhones. Some iPhone models have even gotten updates for five to six years, which is more than most Android devices. Once your phone stops receiving software updates, it becomes more vulnerable to malware and security threats. While it may still work fine without a software update, you should consider upgrading to a newer iPhone.
  • The battery doesn’t last that long: Over a period of time, the battery on your iPhone starts draining faster. You can check your iPhone’s battery capacity by going to Settings>Battery>Battery Health. Your iPhone will give you a measure of current battery capacity compared to when it was new. The battery capacity steadily drops over time, and if you find yourself charging your iPhone multiple times a day, it might be time to make the switch to a new iPhone.
  • Looking for new features?: With new iPhones rolling out every year, their ability and features are also constantly expanding. If you’re using an iPhone that is a few years old, it may not have 5G connectivity or superior water resistance. If any of the new features interest you, you should think of changing your iPhone.
  • New accessories don’t work: While Apple offers its best to offer backwards compatibility for most of its accessories, you may find yourself missing out on the new products if your iPhone is way too old. Products like AirPods and lightning pin connectors may not work with your iPhone. Buying a new iPhone is much easier and eventually more cost-effective than purchasing compatible accessories online.
  • Camera quality drops down: It is no secret that the camera quality of the iPhone drops down significantly with extensive use over a period of time. With Apple equipping the iPhone with new and more powerful cameras every year, the difference in the quality of pictures is night and day. If you’re a photography enthusiast, you may want to get the new iPhone every two or three years.
  • iPhone has sustained some damage: Depending on the severity of the damage, you can make a call whether buying a new iPhone would be cheaper than repairing the damaged one. Sometimes the costs add up to the extent that you’re better off buying a new iPhone. Sometimes even a small drop can damage multiple parts of your phone including the screen, cameras, and the lock button. In this scenario, you should look into buying a new iPhone.

We hope you found it useful. The new iPhone is set to be released on 7th September, and this guide will help you decide whether you need to upgrade your current iPhone, and which storage capacity you should go for. Some dealers also offer lucrative exchange offers, where you can deal your current phone in and get a discount on the new iPhone.

How Technology Has Improved Competition and Sports

As a product of human innovation and ingenuity, technology continues to play an increasingly important role in everyday life. In this context, we explore five technologies that we believe to have considerably improved competition and sporting performance. Read on to discover the technologies behind today’s feature-rich entertainment-centric platforms offering stellar gaming competition and surreal sporting action.

1.   Instant Replay

The first-ever instant replay broadcast during a live game occurred in a 1963 football match between the Army and Navy College football teams. During this game, an instant replay of army quarterback Carl “Rollie” Stichweh’s impressive scoring performance had audiences clinging to the edge of their seats. This technological marvel was a product of TV producer Tony Verna‘s innovative process of isolating playback instances for instant replay during a live recording session. Nowadays, you readily encounter stats-rich multi-angle instant replays of stellar gaming performances in both real-world and virtual sporting events.

2.   Internet Streaming

The advent of high-speed internet in the early 2000s has undoubtedly revolutionized how we view and play live sports. At the time, the Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) and cable modems allowed users to stream live games onto computer screens via a telephone line or coaxial cable. However, back then, live matches were primarily available via TV broadcast. Fortunately, the subsequent mainstream unveiling of wireless broadband and satellite high-speed internet favoured the proliferation of devices with live game capability. Note that these two technologies are why you can now watch live competitions on your smartphone, laptop, tablet, smartTV, or other web-capable devices. The live streaming technology has since been adopted by many companies whose aim is to bring a breath of fresh air into their industry. For example, live dealer casinos offer live gambling events which have a modern rig that features 4K Ultra-HD cameras, optical character recognition capabilities (for tracking moves with stunning precision), a dealer’s monitor and live chat, and the game control unit.

3.   Sports Apps

You can now use a web app to watch live games via a high-speed internet connection and a web browser installed on your smartphone, laptop, tablet, desktop, smartTV, and other web-capable devices. These sports streaming web-based apps typically support multiple mainstream browsers, including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Brave, Edge, and Opera. In addition to a web-based app, a wide array of native mobile or desktop apps also grants you live game viewing capability. Using such an app entails downloading and installing the desired sports streaming app from the provider’s website or mainstream app store. Next, you open the app, create your user account, provide your payment details, and then begin watching any live game you choose.

4.   Better Video Gaming

Video games in the late 1990s were standalone software on discs that a user purchased and then played natively on a PC or a dedicated brand-specific console. A significant challenge to this deployment model was that gaming performance depended directly on the hardware and software specifications of user devices. As a result, users had to upgrade their consoles or purchase the latest graphic cards to enjoy optimal gaming. Nowadays, live multiplayer games grant you the chance to experience highly competitive sporting action via a stunningly life-like, detail-rich graphical interface using any internet-enabled device. This technological feat is made possible by the ongoing deployment of live games via dedicated, cloud-based, and internet-intensive PaaS (Platform as a Service) platforms.

5.   High-Definition TVs and User Devices

Last but not least, HD TVs and high-resolution user devices allow you to view live games in vivid, true-to-life resolution and full-colour video rendering, not to mention pristine immersive audio. Remarkably, it wasn’t until the advent of colour TV broadcasting in 1966 that people began watching live games on colour CRT televisions. These early CRT televisions had low video resolution, were bulky, protruded at the back, and consumed lots of power. While early flat screen models were quite expensive, affordable HD LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) and LED (Light Emitting Diode) flat-screen TVs had become popular household items by the early 2000s. Today, we have options like QLED and OLED, which redefine how realistic and colourful an image can be, even though they may be a bit on the pricey side.
