Philips Fresh Air Mask review: Now breathe easy

With the pandemic lot of Indian and international companies started to think better and went to the drawing board to build better masks and breathing products. One such company is Philips that innovated and come out with a new digital face mask. It is called Philips Fresh Air Mask and we have been using it every time we step out of the house. What is its main USP? It has a rechargeable exhaust fan within. This is our review of the Philips Fresh Air Mask and should you buy it?

Philips Fresh Air Mask review: Design

The Philips Fresh Air Mask comes in a perfect square navy-blue box. When opened, the first thing you see is a black mask with a silver contraption attached to it. Next, you will find the interchangeable air filter, a USB Type-C charging cable and a manual. The main front end of the mask is built of a mesh-like tough cloth material, which is washable. The silver contraption we spoke about earlier is actually the removable exhaust fan unit. This is connected to a small rechargeable battery inside. The battery compartment also has a USB charging port on it.Philips-Fresh-Air-Mask-battery The filter you get with the Philips Fresh Air Mask is very easy to fit into the main head of the mask and comes with an adjustable nose pin. You can plug the circular exhaust window (in the filter) over the fan magnetically and the sides get attached neatly to the hooks on the left and right sides of the inside of the mask. The straps on this digital face mask are adjustable and you can tighten and loosen them up with ease. The material used all around the Philips Fresh Air Mask is very nice and has a premium, rich feel to it. Philips-Fresh-Air-Mask--fan

Philips Fresh Air Mask review: Performance

Now, coming to the performance of the Philips Fresh Air Mask. We found it to be fine for women but slightly small for men or people with large faces. A square inch larger would have been perfect. Nonetheless, that does not mean that the face mask is not good. It is very-very good. It does what Philips intended it to do. It pushes out all the CO2 and hot air from within. The fan has 3-speed modes, which can be accessed with the LED-lit button on the fan panel from the outside. Sweat is the biggest problem of any facemask, but with this one (thanks to the fan) you hardly find any sweat drops on your face even when you are in hot temperatures. Charging the Philips Fresh Air Mask is also very easy and one can do that with any USB charger using the supplied cable.Philips-Fresh-Air-Mask-inside The Philips Fresh Air Mask can filter out 95% 3um particles, as the company says, and we did feel a difference when we started using this mask over the regular masks you get in the market. To clean the mask, one must remove the battery with the fan unit, which pushes out easily. The same way you can place it in, which again clicks in easily. If the filter (which by the way is 4 layered) is getting old and dirty one can purchase more from Philips for Rs 2,990. The battery of the mask lasted us for 3.5 hours at medium speed. Even without the fan, the mask is very useable, as it is light in weight and well built. But it will not push out the hot air and carbon die oxide as easily.

Verdict

So, is the Philips Fresh Air Mask at Rs 6,990 (available on Amazon) worth buying? On most counts yes. It is the latest in face mask technology, hence Philips is asking for a premium. Put it this way, you cannot put a price on saving yourself from the deadly coronavirus. And in the process, if you can keep your face cool and fresh then it is a good deal. With the black version, a pink version is also available for the ladies. It can be a good gym companion as well, as it will keep your face cool during a hot workout.

Pros

Comfortable Exhaust pushes out CO2 swiftly Washable and reusable

Cons

Slightly small for people with large faces Some might find it expensive Battery life could have been better

But when WhatsApp updates its privacy settings you can enable your last seen, and you can disable it for specific contacts. WABetaInfo has also shared a screenshot to confirm that this feature is under works. The screenshot has been taken from WhatsApp for iOS, but WhatsApp will obviously introduce it on WhatsApp for Android too as per the report.

As of now the new updated privacy settings is under development and WhatsApp will enable it for beta testers in a future update. Besides this, the instant messaging app owned by Facebook was also spotted testing the Message Reactions feature to express emotions via emojis and other social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, iMessage. Rumoured Specifications, release date and price for MacBook Pro 16

MacBook 16-inch 2021 will arrive anytime soon with the most significant upgrades to the MacBook series in years. Apple has been listening to its consumers a lot and that gives a great image of the feature. The company anticipated not just a basic mini LED display and upgraded M1X chip or rumoured M2 chip but also introducing the much-needed ports, which consumers have been missing for a long.

Expected Macbook 2021 Specifications

The exact specification is unknown but with the release of the 13-inch MacBook M1 chip, we can be sure that the company will be using its silicon instead of Intel chips. The M1X will contain a 10-core CPU with 8 large and 2 efficient cores. The present M1 chip is configured in a 4 + 4 configuration. The present GPU core count of eight may be increased or quadrupled. Another rumour suggests that Apple has ordered to produce a new M2 processor for its next-generation MacBooks, but not the current upcoming Pro devices. It reportedly will have a 4-nanometer manufacturing node, which promises a higher performance gain without sacrificing power efficiency.  Also Read: 5 accessories every MacBook owner should have MacBooks are always famous for giving good battery life. The last year M1 MacBook Pro could last 20 hours with a battery size of 58.2 WHr. It is rumoured that the current-gen laptops will have a 100 watt-hour battery and even with the new chipset the power consumption will increase as well, but it should be enough to last more than a day. FAA restrictions dictate that you may only bring 100-watt hours on a plane and thus we cannot expect Apple to expand it more than that.

Design

The most significant change that we can notice in the 2021 MacBook is the removal of the touch bar. According to Ming-Chi Kuo, the ever-changing touchscreen bar will be replaced with a set of physical keys, similar to those seen on other laptops and pre-2016 MacBooks. We expect the upcoming tablets to get access to the touch bar when Apple releases its iPad with AMOLED panels. Kuo also announced that the new 16-inch MacBook pro-2021 will have a wide range of connectors, which will eliminate the need for dongles. It’s the first time since 2015 that the company has decided to offer customers other than USB-C. Users can expect an HDMI and SD card reader to make a comeback. The newer models will also have a new 1080p webcam, three thunderbolt Type-C ports and an upgraded MagSafe port.  Read Also: Apple launches new lineup of M1-powered Macs After the wireless charger by MagSafe was introduced along with iPhone 12, we can also expect that it makes a comeback to the new MacBooks as well with a pill-shaped design. The consumers can expect the return of break-away cable, which the Old MacBook pro owners are used to. The new MacBook Pro is coming soon to India as well. Globally, it is expected to arrive between September and October. The expected price is unknown but it will be exciting to see what more new things the company has to offer to its customers. We also expect that there will be an increase in price as there is global chip scarcity. For the latest gadget and tech news, and gadget reviews, follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3XL users are complaining of a bricking issue: Resolution still awaited

There are lots of complaints by consumers who own a Pixel 3 or Pixel 3XL smartphone that their devices are bricking or becoming unresponsive. Many users also reported on the company’s support forums as well as Reddit, that their devices are shutting down for no reason. According to the complaints posted the device is booting in a recovery mode by Qualcomm naming ”Emergency Download mode” (ELD) instead of normal Android boot screen making their device basically useless. Some of the Pixel 3 owners also reported that there is a total shutdown that occurred in their phone after the security update, while some woke up in the morning to find out their devices are bricked after shutdown. Many suffering from this issue also complained that seeking help from Google is of no use as their devices are out of warranty. Read Also: Nubia Red Magic 6S Pro with Snapdragon 888+ 5G chipset launched globally The concern of users is genuine, as the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3XL were launched back in October 2018. So it’s concluding that the majority of the devices sold during that period will be out of warranty by now and about to lose support from Google soon. The company has not specified if this is a widespread concern or issue that all the users are facing. Though it’s a matter of concern by the users that either they have to pay to get their device repaired or have to buy a new device. pixel 3 and pixel 3XL bricked Read Also: Oppo Enco Buds TWS earphones confirmed to launch in India on September 8 The same case like this happened earlier this year and the company announced that it will provide an extended warranty for the affected region on all pixel 4XL devices. Google figured out some issues that were causing the devices to shut down frequently.  Some problems included uncertain power-related issues, including problems with wired and wireless charging, faster-than-expected battery drain, random restarts, and unable to power on the phone were reported by users that led the company to extend warranties for another year. Google started repair programs for Google Pixel 4XL purchased in Singapore, Japan, the USA and Taiwan. It is an alarming situation especially when a company like Google is making the same mistake again. It raises a lot of questions about what exactly the company is doing beta testing for before releasing any update. Incidents like this damage the company’s reputation a lot and its consumers think twice before making a purchase. Pixel 3 is still on sale in India, we advise it’s better to stay away from the device for now until the issue is resolved by Google.
