Honor Watch GS Pro and Honor Watch ES launching in India today

At IFA 2020 this year Huawei’s sub-brand Honor introduced Honor Watch GS Pro and Honor Watch ES expanding its portfolio of smartwatches. Both the devices are fitness-focused smartwatches that include all the needed health and fitness features. Today the company will be launching both the devices in India.

Honor Watch GS Pro and Honor Watch ES will be launched in India today. The company has also created a dedicated microsite for the smart wearable on the e-commerce website Flipkart. Just before the official launch, both the fitness tracking devices by the Chinese company got listed on the online shopping portal. The launch will take place at 12 noon today.

As of now, the company has not revealed the pricing of both the products but during IFA 2020 the Honor Watch GS Pro was launched with a price tag of EUR 249.99 that translates to Rs 21,600. On the other hand, Honor Watch ES was introduced at EUR 99.99 that translates to Rs 8,700. The pricing of the devices is going to be similar to what it is being offered in the European markets.

 Honor Watch GS Pro specifications

The Watch GS Pro comes with a circular dial with a 1.39-inch AMOLED display with 454×454 pixels of resolution. It is powered by Kirin A1 SoC paired with 4GB of storage and is compatible with both Android and iOS devices. It has GPS support for location tracking with dual satellite positioning systems and offers multi-skiing. The smartwatch also includes 100 workout modes with 15 professional and 85 customised modes along with health monitoring features that include real-time heart rate monitoring, sleep tracker and SpO2 monitor to keep track of the blood oxygen level.

Honor Watch ES 

The Honor Watch ES features a 1.64-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 456×280 pixels with an always-on feature and 2.5D glass cover. It comes loaded with about 95 workout modes, 12 animated workout classes, and 44 animated exercise moves. For real-time heart rate monitoring, the company has used Huawei’s proprietary TruSeen 4.0 technology. Also available with stress and sleep monitoring functionality the device lacks a SpO2 monitor to measure blood oxygen level.

The Chinese smartphone company, Vivo, has officially confirmed that its latest Vivo V20 smartphone is going to land in India on October 13. The company declared the launch date via Twitter. Also, the smartphone has got listed on Flipkart to tease its availability. To recall the company launched three smartphones Vivo V20, Pro and SE later last month. Earlier out of the three handsets the V20 and V20 Pro were speculated to launch in India. But today the company’s announcement and Flipkart teaser have confirmed only the vanilla variant. Vivo India took to Twitter announce the launch date for the Vivo V20 series for the country. The company’s tweet has confirmed only Vivo V20 is coming to India. The launch is set for October 13 other details are yet to be shared later on. On Flipkart, a microsite to tease the availability of the upcoming smartphone has also been created. As per the listing, the device is going to fall between Rs 20,000- Rs 30,000 price segment. Moreover, the official listing shares some key highlights also with colour options the smartphone will be available in.

The Chinese smartphone company Realme today expanded its lineup of the Realme 7 series by launching Realme 7i in India. The device joins the Realme 7 and Realme 7 Pro, which was launched in the country a few months ago. Before its lunch in the country, the smartphone has already made its debut in the Indonesian market. The mobile is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor. It features a 90Hz refresh rate display, quad rear cameras and a 5,000mAh battery.

Realme 7i has been launched in India in two variants of 4GB RAM with 64GB/128GB of storage. The 64GB has been priced at Rs 11,999 while the 128GB storage comes with a price tag of Rs 12,999. The device is offered in two colour options — Fusion Green and Fusion Blue. It is scheduled to go on sale from October 16 via e-commerce website Flipkart, Realme.com, as well as offline stores.

The smartphone is backed by a 5,000mAh battery that supports an 18W fast charging solution. The audio products giant Bose today arrived with a slew of its new products in the Indian market. The company has launched its new lifestyle products which include three new Frames — Frames Tempo, Tenor, and Soprano alongside two new TWS earbuds. The new premium range of the Frames line up has polarized lenses and are specifically designed for outdoor activities and daily wear.

All the frames have polarised lenses that block up to 99 percent of UV rays and fit for outdoor sports and daily wear. These come with wafer-thin Bose systems embedded in each arm without extra parts, visible screws, seams, or perforations. All the Frames can be wirelessly connected to your phone to stream music, take and make calls, and use your personal assistant — privately.

According to the company each of the Frames is prescription-ready and can be pre-ordered starting today via select resellers and will go on sale from October 13 across Bose Premium stores, wholesale partner stores and e-commerce partners. The price of the frames starts at 21,900 with interchangeable lenses for all variants for Tempo Sport will be sold for Rs 2990. While Tenor and Soprano interchangeable lenses will be sold for Rs 1990(faded) and Rs 2,990 (Rose Mirror, Blue Mirror, Silver Mirror) respectively.

Frame Tempo

The Frame Tempo is specifically designed for sports enthusiasts made from TR90 that are durable, lightweight, and flexible to withstand extreme temperatures and extreme training sessions. Custom designed spring hinges and TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) temple tips have been customised for comfortable stability while the nose pads come in three shapes for the right amount of grip to avoid slipping down the face during marathons and triathlons, on the water, off-road, or at high speeds down steep declines.

As per the company Tempo’s acoustic package is an engineering phenom, producing the highest fidelity in the Frames family. A 22 mm full-range driver is embedded in each temple to play deeper and louder — loud enough for cycling at 25 MPH — while still being able to hear traffic, warnings, training partners, and teammates.

Frame Tenor

The company says these frames can fit under helmets, are sweat-, weather-, scratch-, and shatter-resistant, and have up to 8 hours of battery life. It comes with a USB Type C port for charging. While the lenses are polycarbonate with a visible light transmission of 12% along with optional lenses in Road Orange has a 20% VLT medium-light lens to reduce glare from reflective surfaces like water and snow. The Trail Blue has a 28% VLT low-light lens to increase contrast and definition in bright-sun conditions and the Twilight Yellow has a 77% VLT very low-light lens for use at dusk.

Coming to other new Frame Tenor which comes with a smaller and square style frame while the Soprano has a subtle cat-eye design. Both the devices include two 16 mm speakers with a noticeably better bass response so playlists are reproduced with more depth and detail. Both the sunglasses are shatter-resistant with an extended battery life of 5.5 hours through an included, custom pogo-pin charger. It comes with integrable lenses with different options such as Mirrored Blue and Silver for Tenor, Rose Gold and Purple-fade for Soprano.

Frame Soprano

All the three Frames have better voice pick up while the one microphone has been replaced with a dual-beam-forming array that shields what you’re saying from wind, noise, and other nearby conversations. Tempo, Tenor, and Soprano come with a new Volume-optimized EQ for any type of listening with integrated touch control. The volume can be controlled by just sliding your finger forward and backward on the right temple and other commands can be managed by the right temple via taps or through a multi-function button.

Bose has launched its new truly wireless earbuds along with three new frames in the Indian market. The company has launched QuietComfort Earbuds and Sport Earbuds alongside new Frames Tempo, Tenor, and Soprano. As the name suggests Quitecomfort earbuds come with around-ear noise cancelling like features in an in-ear design. While the Sport Earbuds have been re-engineered to produce better sound with slimmer enclosures that stay securely in place. 

The new QuietComfort earbuds come with hardware and software improvements. The audio device is over an inch long and weighs 0.3 ounces. These earbuds block unwanted sounds with the help of StayHear Max tips to create a soft-yet-tight seal. It has multiple microphones to sense, measure, and send any remaining noise to a proprietary electronic chip. The QC earbuds have 11 levels of noise controls to set preferences. According to the company, while watching movies, videos, news, and podcasts, there’s no electronic “hiss” and speech and dialogue are natural. And for talking on the phone, QC Earbuds separate your voice from those around you and dampen the rush of wind.

QuietComfort Earbuds

In terms of battery life, the earbuds deliver 18 hours of total playback. The QC earbuds come in two metallic and gloss accents namely Triple Black and Soapstone. The earphone will be available with a price tag of Rs 26,990. These are now up for pre-orders and will go on sale on October 13 across Bose Premium stores, wholesale partner stores and e-commerce partners.

The Bose Sport Earbuds have been re-engineered with an entirely new acoustic system using a high-efficiency driver, proprietary port design, and volume optimised EQ for clear, powerful performance. According to the company, all the components are custom-matched to solve the category’s most common problems. The earphones lock in place for r high-impact and low-impact exercise without hurting or budging. These earphones come with up to 5 hours of battery life and with a charging case it delivers up to 10 hours of additional playback time. They come in Triple Black, Baltic Blue, and Glacier White.

Both the Bose TWS earphones are compatible with both iOS and Android devices and native VPAs. For connectivity both have Bluetooth 5.1 along with a new data transfer method for fewer dropouts. Both the earphones are rated for an IPX4 rating to resist sweat and water and have e on-bud touch controls for the most common commands like play and pause, answer and end calls, and access to your personal assistant.

The device in the country will be offered in five colour options  Cloud Red, Cloud Lavender, Cloud Mint, Cloud Navy and Cloud White. According to the company, the pre-order will open on October 9 and the device is scheduled to go on sale starting October 16 via e-commerce portal Amazon, Samsung India online store, and select offline retailers.

On pre-booking, customers can avail special benefits worth INR 8000, including Samsung e-store benefits worth INR 4000 and an Upgrade Bonus of INR 3000 or cashback up to INR 4000 through HDFC Bank cards.

Poco C3 has gone official in India. Xiaomi launched its new budget smartphone in the country under its sub-brand Poco today. The device is powered by MediaTek Helio G35 SoC. It has an HD+ display, triple rear cameras and more. The device is a twisted variant of Redmi 9C which launched a few months back in Malaysia. Moreover, the company will be offering the mobile phone at reduced pricing as a part of an introductory offer via Flipkart.

Poco C3 has been launched in India in two storage configurations of 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM with a 64GB storage model. The 3GB RAM variant will be available for purchase at an introductory price of Rs 7,499 while the 4GB RAM option will be offered with a price tag of Rs 8,999. The company says this introductory price is valid for a limited period only and will raise the prices after the festive season is over. The device comes in three colour options- Arctic Blue, Lime Green, Matte Black. The smartphone is scheduled to go on sale in the country via e-commerce website Flipkart starting October 16.

On the front, the device features a 5-megapixel selfie sensor with f/2.2 aperture.

The company has introduced Fossil Gen 5E smartwatch models in different sizes as well as styles. The new line up includes both 42mm and 44mm case size options. Moreover, smart wearable also comes in distinct colour options. These run on Wear OS by Google and are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset.

Fossil Gen 5E smartwatch models price and availability

The all-new Fossil Gen 5E has been introduced in the US. The price of both 42mm and 44mm case size options starts at $249 that translates to Rs 18,200. Both options will be available for both male and female users in different styles and colour options. This will be offered in Black Silicone, Brown Leather, Black Stainless Steel, Two-Tone Stainless Steel, Rose Gold-Tone Stainless Steel Mesh, Rose Gold-Tone Stainless Steel and Blush Silicone. The pre-orders of the smartwatch have opened in the US and according to the company, the shipping will begin from November 3. As of now, there is no word from the company with regard to the international availability of the watch. 

Fossil Gen 5E specifications

As we mentioned earlier Fossil Gen 5E comes in two sizes, the 42mm and 44mm. The 42mm models carry a 1.19-inch AMOLED display which has a resolution of 390×390 and pixel density of 328ppi. All the models with this size have stainless steel and have a gold finish with an attached 18mm wrist strap. Whereas the 44mm case size has a 22mm wrist strap attached to it. The watch runs on Google’s Wear OS and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor paired with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage.

The Fossil Gen 5E Black Silicone model is 5ATM rated for water resistance while the Brown Leather and Black Stainless Steel are rated for 3ATM water resistance. On the other hand, all the women models of the smartwatch come with 5ATM water resistance.

All the smart wearables feature a built-in speaker to answer calls, multi-day battery modes, and heart rate and activity tracking. One can also get notified, receive, or reply tests with a tap. The user can also control music, change the volume and more. For contactless payment, Gen 5E also has Google Pay. As we said earlier it has various battery modes on it that include daily mode, extended mode, time only mode and custom mode.

Over that, the smartwatch also features an Always-On display with a screen waking button and touch. For connectivity, this has Bluetooth 4.2 LE, NFC, GPS, LTE, and Wi-Fi. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, gyroscope, off-body IR, and PPG heart rate sensor.

The company is expected to bring a 4G variant only to the country however the smartphone is available in both 4G and 5G options globally. Poco C3 is officially going to launch today in India. Xiaomi-sub brand has not shared much about the smartphone but the device is said to be a rebranded variant of Redmi 9C which launched a few months back in Malaysia. The confirmed features by the company for Poco C3 include a triple rear camera setup that will include a 13-megapixel primary sensor and will be available with up to 4GB of RAM.
