Since PUBG Mobile India was banned in India, there has been lots of rumours and leaks floating on the web about its launch details. Although a user on Twitter managed to get the screenshots of the 6 seconds short teaser video before it was deleted.
In a new development, the fresh version of the game will be specially launched for the Indian market and with new branding. As said, PUBG Mobile India has been rebranded to Battlegrounds Mobile India ahead of the release. The company’s official Facebook page, YouTube channel as well as Indian website, has also been renamed to the new one.
PUBG Mobile developers Krafton is yet to officially reveal the launch date but the official FaceBook page suggests“@BattlegroundsMobileIN and an unverified account on Facebook has also shared a banner photo with the title Battlegrounds Mobile India along. We have been using the Samsung Galaxy A12 for quite some time now. We are today sharing our experience in our review of Samsung Galaxy A12. Before we move ahead let’s quickly see what’s the biggest USP of the phone. The device features a 48-megapixel quad-camera setup and a 6.5’-inch HD+ Infinity-V display. It also packs a 5,000mAh battery and is priced under the sub Rs 15,000 segment. With that let’s dive into the Samsung Galaxy A12 review starting with the design.
In This Article
Design and Display
In terms of design, the Samsung Galaxy A12 is identical to the Galaxy M12(review), which we have recently reviewed. It bears the same rugged texture on most parts of the rear panel except the bottom quarter where you will find a smooth finish. A good thing about the rear panel is that it does not attract any smudges or fingerprints. There is a quad rear camera set up in the left-hand corner of the back. Unlike M12 here the camera bump is a little raised and not lies completely flat. Even with a heavy camera bump, it doesn’t wobble when it is kept on a hard flat surface. The phone does feel bulky in the hand but the weight distribution is good. Consumers will take some time to get used to it.
On the utility front, it has a power button which is also a fingerprint scanner along with the volume rocker that is given on the right side of the frame. Frankly speaking, this side-mounted fingerprint scanner is as fast as the Galaxy M12, which is a good thing. The left side of the frame is clean except for the dual SIM tray being placed on it. The headphone jack, USB Type-C port and speaker grill are given at the bottom.
Moving on to the display, the Samsung Galaxy A12 features a 6.5-inch HD+ TFT Infinity-V Display with 720×1,600 pixels of resolution and an aspect ratio of 20:9. It has a standard 60Hz refresh rate, which is the only difference between the Galaxy M12 and A12. However, considering the price Samsung should have gone for an FHD or an AMOLED display same as provided by its competitors like Redmi Note 10 (review) and Redmi 9 Power (review)at a similar price point.
Still, at this price point, the display looks pretty nice. Rather than the hole punch cut out, it has a V-shaped camera notch at the top. The colour and the brightness are absolutely fine even when using outdoors. At the same time, the display is WIDEVINE L1 certified so that you can stream HD content on it easily. The viewing angles are good too.
Performance and Cameras
Talking about the performance, the Samsung Galaxy A12 is powered by octa-coreMediaTek Helio P35 SoC paired with up to 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage. Noticeably P35 is a mediocre chipset that also has an old processor. The phone is good for day to day usage but in terms of gaming, it is not recommended for high-end gaming but for normal casual gaming only.
It is an entry-level phone but you can still play some games on it such as COD: Mobile on low settings. The mobile phone’s performance could have been better if the company opted to go for a better chipset in this price range. In terms of RAM and storage, the smartphone comes with 4GB RAM and 64/128GB of storage.
With the main tech specs out of the way, let’s talk about the software. The phone runs One UI 2.5 based on Android 10. The Galaxy A12 is secured by Knox security running version 3.6. Again in terms of security, the device equips a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and face unlock, which are equally fast. Also, OS-wise you won’t get to see much bloatware or ads.
Ok, now that’s done now let’s talk about the cameras on the device. On Samsung Galaxy A12 you get a quad rear camera setup that includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.0 aperture. In addition to this, there is a 5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, a 2-megapixel macro lens with f/2.4 aperture and another 2-megapixel depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. Upfront there is an 8-megapixel selfie sensor with an f/2.2 aperture.
The shots taken from the Galaxy A12 offer a good dynamic range in good light conditions. Whereas the wide-angle lens is helpful in landscape photography and this also offers good wide-angle night shots too. The macro sensor allows you to get really close to the subject. The portrait shots are perfect with edge detection on point. You can get a fair idea from the below samples.
Live Focus and Macro shotsWide and Ultra-Wide Angle Shots
The rear cameras also allow you to record videos in both normal and wide-angle mode. It allows you to shoot up to 1080p videos at 30fps and this applies to the front camera as well. The camera quality of the phone is impressive for the price.
Speaking of the Battery life, the Samsung Galaxy A12 is fueled by a massive 5,000mAh battery supplied with a 15W fast charger. It takes more than 2 hours and 30 minutes to get fully charged from zero to 100. When fully charged it can easily last for a day and a half or even two days depending on the usage.
Verdict
Samsung Galaxy A12 is a decent smartphone. The company has worked on its form factor while providing better cameras and enhanced battery life. Though it is not a perfect budget phone considering its display and gaming performance as its competitor, it is very close. To sum it up, it comes with good cameras, it is perfect for day to day usage and we would recommend Galaxy A12 who want something in the price range of Rs 10,000 – 15,000.
Last year the microblogging platform Twitter introduced a Clubhouse-like audio chatroom called Spaces for testing on its platform. In its latest update, Twitter Spaces is now available for users with at least 600 followers. These users will be able to host their own Space.
Basically, Twitter Spaces is similar to the Clubhouse app, which introduced the audio chatroom trend on its platform and was able to attract celebrities and entrepreneurs. Also then when Twitter was testing this feature, which was only accessible to a limited number of people to host sessions.
Twitter via its blog post announced that from now onwards users with over 600 followers on the micro-blogging site will be allowed to host an audio chat room known as Spaces. There is now a separate app for Space that can only be accessed within the Twitter app.
“Today, we’re bringing the ability to host a Space to all accounts with 600 or more followers on Twitter. Based on what we’ve learned so far, these accounts are likely to have a good experience hosting live conversations because of their existing audience. Before bringing the ability to create a Space to everyone, we’re focused on learning more, making it easier to discover Spaces, and helping people enjoy them with a great audience,” the company commented while announcing the rollout of Twitter Spaces.
As per the company, Twitter Spaces will let you hear audio and talk about what’s happening now and what’s most important to you – live. From Tweeting to talking, reading to listening, Spaces encourages and unlocks real, open conversations on Twitter with the authenticity and nuance, depth and power only the human voice can bring.
In short, this feature is only dedicated to small and intimate conversations with just a few others, or for big discussions about what’s unfolding right now with thousands of listeners.
The Spaces on Twitter is available for both iOS and Android devices. So when someone you follow starts or speaks in a Space, it’ll appear at the top of your timeline as a purple bubble for as long as it’s live. When you join Space as a listener, you will be able to react with emojis, check out any pinned Tweets, follow along with captions, Tweet or DM Space, or request to speak.
On the other hand, when you join a Space as a speaker you will also be able to pin Tweets to Space, turn on captions so everyone can follow along with what you’re saying, and Tweet Space so your followers can join.
According to Twitter, the users are allowed to invite people to join by Tweeting or DM’ing.
Apart from this privacy and security have also been taken care of. The safety control will be available to both hosts and the speakers. For instance, when you are the host you can easily mute speakers and take away their mic, or remove them from the Space completely. In addition to this, you can alsomute all speakers at the same time and a new management page for easier hosting.
The security controls also allow you to report and block others in the Space or report the Space. And those who have been blocked cannot join a space that you are hosting otherwise you see labels and warnings if someone you’ve blocked is speaking in a Space you join.
Twitter is also working to improve the user’s experience in the coming months. A limited number of hosts will also be able to sell tickets. They can set ticket prices and how many are available to sell. This will allow them to earn the majority of the revenue from ticket sales and Twitter will keep a small amount as well.

Samsung is all set to launch another M-series smartphone in the Indian market. The leaks and reports about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy M32 smartphone have been doing the rounds on the web for some time now. Recently the phone appeared on the Geekbench and DEKRA platforms confirming its existence and in a new development, it has also received the BIS certification. As of now the company has not yet made any official announcement related to M32 but getting listed on the BIS hinted at the imminent launch in the country.
Samsung Galaxy M32 smartphone will arrive in India as a successor of the Galaxy M31 from last year. The device has been allegedly spotted on the India certification website BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards). Although there have been several leaks in the past bit the Indian certification confirms it may launch in India as well as in other markets.
The phone has been spotted by MySmartPrice with model number but before it appeared on the BIS website it has also been leaked through Geekbench 5 website with model number SM-M325FV. The benchmark listing reveals the Samsung Galaxy M32 will be powered by a MediaTek Helio G80 SoC paired with 6GB of RAM. It is also likely to ship Samsung One UI 3.1 based on Android 11. The device has managed to achieve a single-core score of 361 and a multi-core score of 1,254.
Whereas the DEKRA certification website suggests that Galaxy M32 will come with a bigger 6,000mAH battery. Possibly the battery might also get 15W fast charging support.
So far all the specification revealed via leaks goes in line with the Galaxy A32 except for the battery as it bears a 5,000mAh battery. Talking about the similarities A 32 also equips a MediaTek Helio G80 processor, with 6GB of RAM. So in that case the specification of both the phones will match as we have already seen with Galaxy A12 and M12. Both the phones are very much alike except for the software and battery life. If we are guessing it right then the Upcoming Galaxy M32 will feature a 6.4-inch full HD+ Infinity-U sAMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate.
It is also likely to sport a quad rear camera setup with a 64-megapixel primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with 123-degrees of FoV, a 5-megapixel macro sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For taking selfies, there is a 20-megapixel front-facing camera.
All the above specification are just specification and you can digest them with a pinch of salt.

At that time we guessed the upcoming device to be the Redmi Note 10S and now the company has also confirmed the arrival of the gaming-centric phone by unveiling its launch date. The Redmi Note 10S is scheduled to launch on May 13 in the country.
Xiaomi officially announced the launch of the Redmi Note 10S via an online launch event that will be live-streamed through the company’s official YouTube channel and other social media channels. According to the company, the virtual launch will kickstart at 12 noon on May 13 in India.

The listing brings out into the open that the Redmi phone will feature a supreme camera, display, hyperengine game tech and hi-res certified stereo sound dual speakers on board. Moreover, it will offer smoother haptics with long-lasting battery life and fast charging.
It should be noted that Redmi Note 10 Series already includes three devices Redmi Note 10, Redmi Note 10 Pro, and Redmi Note 10 Pro Max and soon the Redmi Note 10S will also join the family. Asus’s ROG smartphone series has made somewhat of a cult following for itself. Gamers around the globe swear by it and every year they wait with great anticipation for the upgraded version. Last year we saw ASUS ROG Phone 3, which was excellent at the price point. This time the version 5 has been launched and not the 4. So, what happened to version 4? Well, in the Chinese language if you pronounce ‘four’ it means ‘death’, hence is inauspicious. This is why you will not find that version in any Chinese/Taiwanese gadget/tech or other industry. We got to play with the smartphone for some time and is it better than the previous version? Let us find out, this ASUS ROG Phone 5 review you all need to read before buying.

ASUS ROG Phone 5 Design and Display
Asus has been designing some great looking smartphones when it comes to the ROG series. ASUS ROG Phone 5 is no different. The smartphone comes with a large 6.78-inch display upfront with a larger bezel on top, rather than on the bottom. This is done because the selfie camera and other sensors are placed here, so you end up getting a pure full-screen experience without a selfie camera notch or cut out hindering the experience.
The screen is protected using Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, which is the best in class toughened glass for smartphones. The sides have a metal frame running across. On the right side, you will find the returning pressure-sensitive air triggers along with the power and volume rocker keys. On the left side, you get the SIM tray, a connector for accessories like the fan and a USB Type-C charging port. At the bottom, you will find the second USB Type-C charging port and the 3.5mm jack, which makes a comeback as it was omitted in the previous edition.
At the top, there is nothing besides another microphone. Talking about which, there are 5 of them on the ASUS ROG Phone 5 so that when you are gaming your voice ends up going to your teammates without any problems.
Coming to the back of the ASUS ROG Phone 5, the smartphone has become much smoother. We say this because now a single sheet of CGG (Corning Gorilla Glass) 3 comes on it. But here is the fun part about it, you do get a familiar rear camera bump, but at the bottom you get a ROG logo LED panel, which has a lot of bling value as we all know how much gamers love to show off their rigs and smartphones. This comes to life when you are gaming or are in the X-mode.
Coming back to the display, ASUS ROG Phone 5 has a 144Hz AMOLED display that supports up to 1,200 nits of brightness and HDR 10+. FHD+ is the resolution that strides in with the smartphone. We loved every bit of it. We found the display to be bright and vivid. Gaming, as well as movies, experience on it, was top notch. Something that we have seen earlier on Samsung and Apple devices only. The display gets an A+ on our sheets as the graphics are lively, characters are crisp, and the screen does not wash out even under direct sunlight. We played a few Netflix shows on it and they all look good. ASUS ROG Phone 5 can manage dark scenes and fast-paced action scenes with extreme ease.
Performance and cameras
Now there is a lot to say about the ASUS ROG Phone 5 performance and cameras. We can write a thesis on it; however, we will try to give you as much of it in the shortest and simplest manner. But first, let us quickly get the tech specs out of the way. The smartphone comes screaming in with the top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset. This is the absolute best when it comes to premium performance and gaming capabilities.
The is partnered with Adreno 660 graphics. With that, you get 8, 12 or 16 GB of RAM. The one we are testing has 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The 8GB RAM version comes with 128GB storage, the 16GB RAM model also comes with 256GB storage. The storage is UFS 3.1 supported. For audio, there is stereo sound available as there are twin loudspeakers available on the ASUS ROG Phone 5. These are optimised for the best gaming sound with DTS:X so that you always end up getting chicken dinner in PUBG.
A 6,000 mAh battery (3,000 + 3,000 mAh) is installed in the smartphone that gave us almost 2 days of battery life when we used it nominally with just 30 mins of gaming. But if you do game a lot on it, then you will get less than a day of battery. Talking about which, we played a lot of games on it. Everything from COD: Mobile to Asphalt 9: Legends was played on it and we never got a chance to complain. The graphics are superb and there is no lag on it. However, the smartphone does get a bit warm when you play for more than 30 mins. Thanks to Wi-Fi 6 and multi-point antennas, we rarely got any packet drops.
The touch response of the air-triggers has also become better, and it did give us the edge in battle royale games such as PUBG: Mobile. Armoury crate app also comes installed on the ASUS ROG Phone 5. This will enable you to tune the phone for each game type. A very good tool if you play different genres of games on your smartphone. Over that, you also get Game Genie for in-game tools. This will enable you to stop alerts, calls etc when you are gaming so you end up getting no-interruption gaming. This can be brought by swiping right from the left edge of the phone when gaming. It also shows you the temperature of the smartphone.
The operating system on the ASUS ROG Phone 5 is Android 11, which comes with ASUS’s ROG skin on top. This gives the users a very clean UI experience. However, it is not totally bloatware-free. Thankfully, much of it can be uninstalled.
Coming to the cameras of the ASUS ROG Phone 5, the handset comes with 3 cameras at the back. These include a primary 64MP wide, 13MP ultrawide and 5MP sensor for macro shots. The primary camera is the best out of the three. We got some very good shots from it in the day as well as night. For close-up shots, we did turn on the LED flash, which enabled us to get better details from portrait shots at night. Ultrawide angle shots we were not in awe of, as the details did come down a lot and smudged edges were apparent. The same is the case with Macro shots. 3 out of ten shots were not very useful. So, you need to get a hang of it or take multiple shots of the subject and keep the best one.
8K video recording can be shot on the smartphone at 30 FPS. However, we did like the 4K at 60FPS to be our preferred setting for videos. The front camera is driven by a 24MP sensor and it is exceptional for taking selfies during the day. During low-light, you do get decent shots too, a night not so much. The best is to use the rear camera with LED flash for the best results.
But ASUS ROG Phone 5 is not built primarily for photographers. It is built for gaming and it excels in the department. We loved the performance of the smartphone when it came to video games.
Verdict
All in all, the ASUS ROG Phone 5 is one of the best munitions you can own if you are a semi or a professional gamer. At Rs 57,999 for the 12GB variant, Asus is asking for a shiny penny, however, we do believe it is worth every penny. If you want the absolute latest with top-of-the-line features for gaming, then this smartphone is the right choice for you. In case you are looking for the lesser expensive version of the smartphone, its base variant starts at Rs 49,999, where you get 8GB RAM.
The tech giant, Google, has introduced a set of new multi-skin toned handshake emojis to shed light on gender diversity and inclusion. It has launched about 25 new variations of the handshake emoji with different skin tones. So one can change the skin tone of both the left and right hand. The new multi-skin toned handshake emoji should appear in the next release, Emoji 14.0, meaning you should see it by 2022.
As per the latest Google blog post, Jennifer Daniel has approved 25 possible combinations of different skin tones shaking hands emojis. Although the regular, one-tone handshake emoji already existed soon the user can access two new emoji hands (a right hand in all the various skin tone shades and left in the various skin tone shades).
Jennifer Daniel, the company’s creative director for emoji has submitted the paperwork for Unicode to consider the addition of the multi-skin toned handshake. Which includes how 25 possible combinations of different skin tones shaking hands could be created.
Jennifer explained that encoding it all would be time-consuming; creating a new emoji can take up to two years. It’s like a language, with a set of rules that are communicated from a keyboard to a computer so that what you see on your screen looks the way it’s supposed to. This is called binary — or all the ones and zeros behind the scenes that make up everything you see on the internet.
Jennifer further explained that when we want to send a 🤦, which maps to U+1f926, that code point must be understood on the other end regardless of what device the recipient is using. So when one emoji can come in different forms — like with gender or skin tone options — the coding gets more complex.
So to make it less complicated, a subcommittee was created that includes volunteers, all of whom are generous with their expertise and time. The blog post also notes that, first, Jennifer looked at existing emojis to see if there were any that could be combined to generate all 25 skin tone combinations.
These emojis were expected to land on the devices in 2021 but because of COVID-19, all Unicode deployments weredelayed six months. But now these should appear in the next release, Emoji 14.0, meaning you should see it appear in 2022 in a smartphone near you.
The popular social media platform, Facebook, is currently working on improving its user privacy and security as it has been one of the major concerns being faced by the users. Apart from WhatsApp the company also owns Instagram, which has millions of users across the globe. Nor FB Messenger or Instagram offers end-to-end encrypted chats by default, which has always been surrounded by controversies and received backlash. So in order to place confidence in its users soon, the company will in the future roll out the end-to-end encryption for Messenger and Instagram direct.
Facebook has promised to offer end-to-end encrypted chats by default for Messenger and Instagram direct by 2022. The company via its blog post said, “Over the past year, we introduced a number ofprivacy and safety tools, including more privacy settings, an app lock, safer message requests, message forwarding limits and more. We’re also working hard to bring default end-to-end encryption to all of our messaging services. This will protect people’s private messages and mean only the sender and recipient, not even us, can access their messages. While we expect to make more progress on default end-to-end encryption for Messenger and Instagram Direct this year, it’s a long-term project and we won’t be fully end-to-end encrypted until sometime in 2022 at the earliest. Moreover, the safety features we’ve already introduced are designed to work with end-to-end encryption, and we plan to continue building strong safety features into our services.”
In addition to this, it has also hosted a virtual workshop with experts in privacy, safety, human rights and consumer protection for a discussion on the future of messaging. During this workshop, Facebook addressed some of the issues guided by input from outside experts.
Facebook also said that “We need to find a balance of safety, privacy, and security. There is a clear need to balance the privacy and security of people’s messages with maintaining a safe environment and providing data to law enforcement in response to potential real-world harms. We discussed tools that can protect people’s privacy while also preventing harm from happening in the first place, using behavioural signals, traffic data or user reports rather than access to the content of all messages. There was no consensus on a recommended approach, but experts encouraged more consultation to help strike an appropriate balance.”
It is worth noting that even the most used messaging app Whatsapp offers end-to-end encryption chats by default. And when everyone is using these messaging app to stay connected with loved ones through private messaging, calling and video chats, encryption is even more important due to the pandemic crisis all over the globe. This has also surged the use of private messaging apps, which has brought important public policy considerations to the forefront. End-to-end encryption has become so common that it is being provided by almost every app and surprisingly none of these FB apps offers end-to-end encrypted chats.
By bringing End-to-end encryption to Messenger and Instagram direct Facebook wants to win the trust of its users. Although we might see a bit of delay in the release of this feature as it may be caught in a political storm. Because what the governments think is that this would give a safe place to criminals for their communications as no one can figure out what the encrypted text means and only Facebook will have the access to the decrypted message.
Also, the question arises does the governments really care about crime or would it serve a bigger agenda by spying on people. So encryption has always been under a lot of controversy as it can be both good and bad as it can also be used for surveillance.
