But some users are also reporting that they are receiving the March Android Security patch. On this note, the company is yet to say how to fix this issue and why it is being caused. The changelog of the new MIUI update shows that the new MIUI 10.3 brings a lot of bug fixes. It has also fixed the bug which earlier affected the calls so that it would take longer time to end. The issue that caused status bar shortcut and the floating notification for calls appear at the same time has also been fixed in the MIUI 10.3. Other than that, the update also solves the problems related to face unlock, sync settings page, low battery warning, call time bubble, media playback volume and notification badges. To update the device to the latest MIUI 10.3 the users of the Redmi 6 and the Redmi 6A needs to go to Settings, and then to About Phone. Moto Razr 2019 renders and in-box contents leaked: Here’s what we know so far

0

With Moto Razr 2019, Motorola is bringing the classic Razr foldable phone back from the dead. Moto Razr was one of the most popular and classic foldable phones a decade ago but now the Lenovo-owned company is bringing the 2019 version of the Moto Razr with smartphone capabilities and features. But before its official launch or announcement, a series of new photos have been leaked online showing the Moto Razr 2019 in its full glory. There is also a picture which reveals the in-box contents of the smartphone.

Earlier we saw that the Moto Razr 2019 has received its Bluetooth certification which further proved that the smartphone was in the making and it would be launched in 2019 itself.

Talking about the leaked images, we see that Moto Razr 2019 has a foldable screen which can be bended downwards like a flip-phone. While the in-box contents of the Moto Razr 2019 include earphones, charging cable, charging adapter, screen protector along with a USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapter. Since, the company is providing a Type-C to 3.5mm adapter, it proves that the device won’t be holding a headphone jack. The newly leaked images seem pretty much similar to the ones that had surfaced online earlier which strengthens the launch of the new foldable smartphone.

The new images have been leaked on Slashleaks, and they show that the phone bends forward (unlike any foldable smartphone we have seen till now) and its screen folds in on itself. The Moto Razr 2019 can be flipped open upwards to reveal the screen inside. Also, some previously leaked images of the smartphone reveals that there will also be a secondary small display on the outside of the folded phone. This small screen would show the notifications, calls, time and other important things. The users can also interact with the notifications and stuff from the outside screen as well without opening the main screen.

The bottom portion of the display holds a bulge and a large bezel on which the smartphone folds itself. The bottom thick portion of the upcoming Moto Razr 2019 holds the company’s logo. While at the top of the main display, there is a notch which holds the front camera and other sensors of the Moto Razr 2019.

Coming to the specifications of the Moto Razr 2019, it should be noted that nothing is confirmed at this point. But according to the previous leaks of the Moto Razr 2019, the device will be powered by a Snapdragon 710 SoC paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The Moto Razr 2019 reportedly sports a 6.2-inch (876 x 2142 pixels) display panel. As we mentioned earlier, the front camera of the device being placed in a notch at the top of the display. On the other hand, the back camera will reportedly be placed on top/bottom of the smaller screen on the outside.

Although these specifications are just leaked online, but they too could be true as we have seen multiple times before in the past. But even so, the news should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Airtel brings out two new recharge plans with 28 days validity for its customers

To compete with Reliance Jio and Vodafone, Airtel has rolled out two new recharge plans for its customers. The new offers include two new data-specific plans for the Airtel prepaid customers only. The new recharge plans costs Rs 48 and Rs 98 and they will be available to Airtel subscribers in all telecom circles in India. But it should be noted that Airtel hasn’t listed the two new plans on its official website, but all the third-party recharge applications and websites are offering the new recharge plans. Earlier, Airtel had launched a new prepaid plan of Rs 248 for first-time Airtel prepaid users. As a part of that plan, Airtel was offering data benefits of 1.4GB daily, unlimited local and STD as well as roaming voice calls. And lastly, it also offers 100 SMS messages daily to its users for a duration of 28 days. Talking about the new recharge plans of Airtel, the Rs 48 prepaid plan offers its users 3GB of 3G or 4G data for a total of 28 days. While the Rs 98 prepaid plan offers 6GB of 3G or 4G data with a total of 28 days validity. Other than that, the users will also get 10 free national SMS with the Rs 98 repaid plan. They offer less than the other data plan being offered by the company but it should also be noted that Airtel has basically brought out the new plans for the customers who are looking for cheap and affordable data plans. Similarly, the other plans which are similar to the new data plans brought out by Airtel includes a Rs 29 data plan which offers a validity of 28 days. The Rs 29 data plan offers 520MB of 3G or 4G data to its customers. Other than the offers mentioned above, there are no other data plans which offer a validity of a month at such affordable prices. A data plan of Rs 92 by Airtel comes with a validity of 7 days and it offers 6GB of 3G and 4G data to its customers.
Airtel’s new plans comes days after Reliance Jio revised some of its data plans so that they offered more data at the same price. It also went on to reduce the price of some of its data plans while offering the same benefits they did before. But it should also be taken into account that the new recharge plans are not listed on Airtel’s official website. Instead, they can be found on the third-party recharge apps and websites.

Apple is restricting and removing apps similar to Screen Time from App Store; here’s why

0
After facing competition from apps similar to Screen Time, Apple has decided to remove all such applications from its App Store. According to a report by The New York Times, the Cupertino-based technology firm has removed or restricted around 11 of the 17 most popular screen time apps from the App Store. These restrictions also involved parental control applications. The report also contained data and Apple’s developer interviews from the data firm Sensor Tower which suggests that Apple is trying to get the iPhones and iOS device users to use only Apple’s services and applications. Apple went as far as to order the developers to remove a key feature from their own Screen Time-like application or remove them from its App Store. Apple’s move comes as it wants the users to use its own services rather than using the services of other developers, even if they are better than its own. Justifying its actions, Apple says that the apps violated its policies such as using the public APIs in an unapproved manner. It also has put a restriction on apps which have been downloaded more than a million times. An app named Mobicip was told by Apple to change the application or face removal from the App Store. Mobicip sent multiple messages to Apple seeking clarification and submission of a revised app but to no avail. And in the end, the application was removed from the App Store. Speaking about the latest developments, Apple spokeswoman Tammy Levine said to a daily publictaion, “We treat all apps the same, including those that compete with our own services. Our incentive is to have a vibrant app ecosystem that provides consumers access to as many quality apps as possible.”
It should be noted that this is not the first time Apple has done something unrightful and unjustifiable to its competitor. Earlier, the popular music-streaming service Spotify filed a complaint against Apple claiming that the company was treating it differently and was making it harder for the app to stay on App Store. Apple wanted the users to use its own music streaming service than Spotify and for that they even delayed app updates and app sync of Spotify with other Apple devices. Apple’s Screen Time keeps a track of the time the users of iOS are using on their devices or certain applications. But the users of iOS report that there are multiple applications which are similar to the Screen Time app and some are even better and come with more number of features, thus they would no doubt choose the other third-party app rather than Apple’s. India’s smartphone market is heavily controlled by Chinese smartphone brands with Xiaomi in the lead

India is a huge market of smartphones and its this reason that most of the smartphone companies focus heavily in the country. They are not afraid to put in the money and invest in the Indian market as they know they will get the results and the revenue. Companies like Xiaomi, OnePlus, Apple, Samsung focus on India mainly because of this, and now it has been found out that the Chinese smartphone brands had controlled a huge 66% of the Indian smartphone market in the first quarter of 2019. And in the lead was Xiaomi with greater control than the other Chinese smartphone makers, with the popularity of Realme, Oppo and Vivo as well are on the rise. According to a report by Hong-Kong based Counterpoint Research, Xiaomi’s shipments to India fell by 2% from last year but it still manages to hold the title of the biggest smartphone brand selling in India. And it was followed by the South Korean tech giant, Samsung Electronics. The report also mentioned that the shipment volumes of Vivo went up to 119% and that of Oppo went up to 28%. Counterpoint analysts said, “Vivo’s expanding portfolio in the mid-tier range ($100 to $180) drove its growth along with aggressive Indian Premier League cricket campaign.” Vivo’s involvement in the ever-popular Indian Premier League (IPL) is also a reason of the company’s growth. Since budget and affordable smartphones with good specifications do well in the Indian market, the companies seems to have adopted the idea. That’s why most of the Chinese companies today are bringing out smartphones with good specs and a lower price tag. And because of this, they are selling well in the Indian market. Thus, their popularity is explained.
But its not just cameras or specs that hiked the popularity. As video streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime or the heavy usage of social media such as Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram increased the demand of the smartphones. Counterpoint’s Tarun Pathak said, “Data consumption is on the rise and users are upgrading their phones faster as compared to other regions. As a result of this, the premium specs are now diffusing faster into the mid-tier price brands. We estimate this trend to continue leading to a competitive mid-tier segment in coming quarters.” For the latest gadget and tech news, and gadget reviews, follow us on TwitterFacebook and Instagram. For newest tech & gadget videos subscribe to our YouTube Channel. And now, it looks like the beta testing of the update is over because the company has now released the OxygenOS Open Beta 30 update for OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T. The new stable update gets the security patch for April and fixes an issue regarding parallel apps in both the devices. If you have not received the update yet, there’s nothing to worry about as OnePlus is rolling it out in a phased manner and will gradually reach all users. OnePlus’ Global Products Operation Manager Manu J announced about the latest update on OnePlus’ official forum saying that the phased rollout of the OxygenOS 9.0.5 update for the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T smartphones has now officially begun. As we have already mentioned, the primary change that is coming to the smartphones with the new upgrade is the April Android security patch. We should mention that the security patch has arrived on the stable update just 10 days after its rollout on the beta channel started.
Coming to other changes, OxygenOS 9.0.5 update has got some stability improvements for the Phone app of OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T. The latest OxygenOS build has also fixed the issue on the Gaming mode that blocks video calls from third-party apps. In addition to this, a glitch that made the same account show up in parallel apps has also been fixed. A separate issue that caused a problem in the picture download function when two instances of WhatsApp were being run has also been fixed by the update. Like all other software updates from the company, the OxygenOS 9.0.5 OTA for the OnePlus 5 and the OnePlus 5T is reaching devices across the globe in a phased manner. If you haven’t received it yet, you are likely to get the update in the next few days. In a piece of different news, OnePlus has confirmed that it will be launching its OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro smartphones on May 14. Google Meet not working on Microsoft Edge after moving to the Chromium Engine

0
When launched, Microsoft’s web browser was called Internet Explorer and later, it got renamed to Edge. In a recent development, Microsoft is moving its Edge web browser to the Chromium Engine which is Google’s open-source web browser project. With Microsoft Edge browser moving to the Chromium Engine, we can expect to see an improved web compatibility and a faster response time. And this will also make the other Google services work well in the new browser as well as enhance its stability. Recently, the beta testers of the service found that Google Meet, which is the company’s enterprise messaging application/service has stopped working on the Edge. Earlier this week, when users tried opening Google Meet, they found out that a prompt opened up to download Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. This could be the reason why other Google’s services wouldn’t work well in Microsoft’s Edge. A Google’s spokesperson said to The Verge, “We view the increased adoption of Chromium and WebRTC as positive for the entire Unified Communications industry. With the recent release of developer previews for Edge, we are thrilled to be able to offer a new preview experience of Hangouts Meet, and we plan to officially support it once it becomes generally available.”
Google’s statement proves that Google Meet will be able to work properly in the Edge browser once it becomes available to all. It should be noted that Microsoft Edge’s newest version worked well with the other Google services and Google Meet, but after the switch to Chromium, the problems started arising. It means that the new Chromium engine isn’t working as well with the Edge as it was thought before. In another recent update, Chrome has brought the much-awaited ‘dark mode’ to its browsers. The new Chrome 74 comes with many changes over its predecessor along with bug fixes. But the main, most noticeable change is the addition of the new dark mode to the browser. Google is working well on improving its web browser to improve the user’s internet usage. The new Chrome 74 update is currently out for Windows, Linux, macOS. But it is also being released as a beta version for Android and iOS as well. The users can download the update from Chrome itself or Chrome’s official website. Google has banned a major app developer from its Play Store, removed more than 50 of its apps

0
Google’s Play Store offers millions of applications, games, books and more to scores of Android smartphone users across the globe. It is considered to be the safest way for Android users to discover and download apps. While the Play Store holds many new and important applications, it also is flooded with faulty, shady and harmful applications. And now, it has been reported that Google is banning a popular Chinese developer from its Play Store and is also removing dozens of applications made by the developer. A report has surfaced on Buzzfeed which that the developer was committing ad frauds and was misusing the user permissions after being installed on the device. It was also discovered by the security researchers that the Chinese developer was committing a fraud which was later banned by Google. Dubbed DO Global, the developer is partly owned by Baidu and was found guilty of producing fake ad clicks to generate revenue. This is not the first application or developer to do so as there are many similar applications who use this practise. Although Google itself didn’t officially confirm its banning of DO Global but according to the Buzzfeed report, the news holds accuracy. Moreover, the security researchers found at least 6 applications which kept running in the background even when the user closed the application. Earlier, DO Global had around 100 applications on the Google Play Store, but now 46 of them have been banned. Most of the applications were listed under other developer names as well such as ‘Pic Tools Group’. In a statement given to the Verge, Google said, “We take our responsibility to protect users and advertisers seriously, and invest in tools and resources to fight fraud and abuse globally. We actively investigate malicious behavior, and when we find violations, we take action, including the removal of a developer’s ability to monetize their app with AdMob or publish on Play.”
While Check Point, in its research wrote, “In a world where ad revenue can produce a very high income, it’s not surprising why malicious actors are after fraudulent activities against ad agencies. ‘Follow the money’ is a good rule of thumb while investigating a malicious campaign.” Earlier, Google had to remove more than 60 games from its Play Store after Check Point’s report that they contained malicious bugs and displayed porn ads. And most of these games were aimed at children which makes them even more harmful and wrong. With the rise of smartphones and internet, to stop such practises the technology companies need to improve their rules and regulations. OnePlus 7 Pro to sport a triple-rear camera setup

0
Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus will be seen launching its new flagship smartphones – OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7 – on May 14. And till now, the launch of OnePlus 7 Pro and the OnePlus 7 has been confirmed along with another variant of the device. Before their official launch, OnePlus is doing all it can to create the hype about its upcoming smartphones. The company has taken to Twitter to tease that its OnePlus 7 Pro will be sporting a triple-rear camera setup. The company has shared a video which shows the outline of the OnePlus 7 Pro smartphone with a triple rear camera setup. OnePlus’s tweet read, “Bells and whistles make noise,” and then it said “We make phones.” The company has also used the hashtag # OnePlus7Pro. It could mean that the triple rear camera of the upcoming smartphone could be limited just to the premium variant of the OnePlus 7 series – OnePlus 7 Pro. OnePlus 7 Pro has previously been in news because it is rumoured to sport an upgraded display with a refresh rate of 90Hz. Even the launch invite of the OnePlus has the screen in it which confirms that the display of the OnePlus 7 Pro will be its main focus. But more details about the upcoming OnePlus 7 Pro will be revealed on its scheduled launch date on May 14. Speaking about the cameras, it is reported that the OnePlus 7 Pro’s triple rear camera setup will feature a standard lens paired with a telephoto lens along with an ultra-wide lens. This camera setup has already been used in a number of 2019 smartphones launched by various other companies. But there is also a possibility that the company may put a depth sensor in the setup. Also, we could see a new and fresh approach towards the camera by the company and expect something different from what it did with OnePlus 6 and the OnePlus 6T. The cameras of the OnePlus devices weren’t the smartphones’ best feature. Even though OnePlus had made certain software improvements for its earlier devices but it still couldn’t reach the level of the best camera smartphone of the market – Google Pixel 3.
With so many improvements there is a possibility that the company might increase its price this time and make it more expensive than earlier OnePlus models. And if that happens, its ‘flagship killer’ title might be in danger as the price leaks of OnePlus 7 and its variants suggests that the device is creeping dangerously close to the ‘other’ flagship smartphone prices. https://twitter.com/oneplus/status/1121398453018316802

10 PUBG Mobile locations and tricks that you should know to survive the Darkest Night

PUBG Mobile’s latest update gets the much-awaited Darkest Night mode, which makes that game as tough as it possibly can get. If you are having trouble with that mode in PUBG Mobile, then here are some locations and tips that you should know about to be the last standing man:

Head to water-city houses

Gaming on of Galaxy A30 If you go to a house in water-city, you will be able to find a room that has a box in to. Jump on to the box so that you can sit on it and shoot zombies. It would be difficult for zombies in PUBG to climb and you will get an advantage. You can also pick ammo from this location.

Hide under the stairs of the Church

PUBG Mobile zombie This will only work if you are alone. The staircase of the Church will stop the zombies from reaching you and at the same time, you will manage to get some easy kills. The zombies in PUBG Mobile may even get up on the staircase to wait to attack you while you are actually hiding under it. But nevertheless, this location is completely safe provided you stay still and don’t move much.

Use windows in multi-story houses

PUBG Mobile zombies mode 10 Often, you will come across windows of multi-story buildings with wooden planks and plates outside. You can jump outside to stand on these wooden planks and then attack zombies. This place will give you an advantage as toxic gases would not affect you and zombies would not be able to jump outside without getting killed by you.

RPD House

PUBG Mobile zombies mode 7 The first thing that you should do when you enter the RPD House is to look for a gun. However, even if you don’t have one, just run along until you reach a higher floor. Locate a pillar close to the container and then jump from the railing on to it. Zombies would not be able to harm you here. And in case you have a gun, you can get a lot of easy kills sitting up here.

Make use of the boxes kept in RPD to keep yourself safe

PUBG Mobile zombies mode The next location is also in RPD House. You would be able to locate a few boxes that are kept very close to the wall. They will be kept on top of the other. You can climb on the one kept on the bottom and stand on it leaning against the one kept on the top. Zombies would not come even close to you if you stay here. But then, you should be careful here as you may get stuck.

Go to the green factory

PUBG Mobile 11 In the green factory, climb up the stairs, jump on the railing and then run along the wall boundaries to hide behind containers. Here, you can hide behind them to shoot the zombies and you would be safe from them.

Shoot from the box in the green factory

PUBG Mobile 9 A wooden box is kept in the corner of the green factory. You can climb on top of it and literally be there till dawn. This position will allow you to make easy kills.

Survive the night in teams

Avoid killing other players at night. Instead, team up and focus on the zombies. Once you survive the night, you can kill other players to be the last standing man.

Keep the zombie vaccine handy

PUBG Mobile 3 A lot of players underestimate this. But considering that zombies and zombie dogs are literally present everywhere in PUBG now, the zombie vaccine can prove to be a literal life-saver.

Use vehicles to your advantage

PUBG Mobile zombies mode 3 When dealing with zombies, you can use a vehicle to block the entrance of a building so that they cannot enter. This will give you a safe place from where you can kill them all.

Xiaomi’s upcoming smartphone will be powered by ‘the latest’ Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC

0
Looks like Xiaomi has some big plans for the Indian smartphone market. This week the company released its selfie-centric smartphone, Redmi Y3 along with a budget handset Redmi 7. Last month, the Chinese smartphone company launched its Redmi Note 7 Pro along with the Redmi Note 7. And now, Xiaomi may be planning to launch new smartphones in the country powered by new Snapdragon CPUs. The Global Vice President and Managing Director of Xiaomi India, Manu Kumar Jain has revealed that the company is planning to launch new smartphones in India. In his tweet, he wrote that the new Xiaomi smartphones will be powered by the Snapdragon processor that was announced ‘just two weeks ago.’ We should mention that Qualcomm had launched three new Snapdragon chipsets recently – the Snapdragon 665, the Snapdragon 730 and the Snapdragon 730G. So, if we take Jain’s statement into consideration we can expect a Xiaomi device powered by any one of these three newly launched chipsets. Jain also highlighted through a tweet about his meeting with Qualcomm’s India President Rajen Vagadia and Vice President of Product Management Kedar Kondap. In his tweet, he wrote that a new Xiaomi smartphone with the latest Snapdragon 7xx “is coming to India very soon.” Although Jain didn’t reveal anything further like the name or any teaser of the device.
And out of all three new Snapdragon CPUs, only two seem to fit Jain’s tweet – the Snapdragon 730 and the Snapdragon 730G. It should also be noted that the South Korean technology giant Samsung earlier had launched its new Galaxy A80 smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 730G SoC. Samsung Galaxy A80 is a gaming-centric smartphone and it is yet to be launched in the Indian market. And if Xiaomi has decided to go the same route, it may be planning to compete with higher-end smartphones from Samsung Galaxy A series. If we talk about the devices which could see the light of the day this time, we can expect the launch of Mi A3. The A3 would most probably be a successor to last year’s Mi A2 which was a mid-range smartphone from Xiaomi. Also, the latest MIUI 10 code in January had hinted us that Google’s Android One could be the platform running in the Mi A3. Other than the Mi A3, the company might also launch the Mi A3 Lite which would be a cheaper and a watered-down version of the main smartphone.

Google Search gets a ‘Thanos’ Easter egg with the release of Avengers: Endgame film

Avengers: Endgame one movie that all Marvel fans have been looking forward too. But today, their wait was finally over as the film has finally hit the cinemas in India. And technology giant Google also did its bit to keep up the excitement of their fans. Google has added an interesting Easter egg related to Thanos to its search. The Easter egg is the latest among many that Google has put up on its platform lately, and this one directly creates excitement for the new movie. To see Google’s surprise for Marvel fans, just go to Google Search and type ‘Thanos’. Among the results, you will see an illustrated gauntlet, and if you are a Marvel fan, you would realise that this is basically the glove-like artefact that the series’ villain Thanos uses in Avengers: Infinity War to use the power of all the Infinity Stones at once. If you click on the gauntlet, the Easter egg will be activated. The fingers of the gauntlet will snap and then various search results of the page will start disappearing. They would vaporise exactly as the people and superheroes did in Avengers: Infinity Wars. Google will then show you that the number of search results has reduced exactly by half. This is another thing that completely relates to what happened in the previous movie by Marvel. It is also the theme that primarily dominates the plot of Avengers: Endgame. Interestingly, if you click on the gauntlet one more time, it leads to a new animation. The Time Stone on the animation reverses the flow of time and all the search results that disappeared earlier get restored. Avengers: Endgame has now been released in India and the film has managed to break all records for advance ticket bookings in the country. The movie’s star cast includes Chris Evans as Steve Rogers (Captain America), Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark (Iron Man) and Chris Hemsworth as Thor. The role of Thanos is played by Josh Brolin. It is worth adding that Google is not the only technology company which is doing its bit to keep up the excitement for the film. Chinese smartphone brand Oppo partnered with Marvel to launch an Avengers Edition of its F11 Pro handset. While the specifications of the device are the same as the regular variant of Oppo F11 Pro, the special edition smartphone comes with a new Avengers-inspired design.

Windows 10 May 2019 update will need a minimum of 32GB storage

Microsoft has started rolling out the Windows 10 May 2019 Update, which is also being called as Windows 10 version 1903, slowly and steadily to its users. Along with this, the software giant has updated its minimum hardware requirements page too. It now says that in order to install the Windows 10 1903 update, minimum storage of 32GB is required. This is valid for 32-bit as well as 64-bit Windows. It is worth mentioning that prior to this, the minimum requirement for the 32-bit Windows 10 was 16GB and for 64-bit Windows 10, one needed 20GB. These requirements were valid till Windows 10 October 2018 Update, which was also known as Windows 10 version 1809. However, there is no word on why the company has made this change. The software giant has also said that the minimum storage requirement for 32-bit Windows and 64-bit Windows would still be 16GB and 32GB respectively, if they are a part of version 1903 and older of Windows 10 IoT Enterprise. It is also worth pointing out that the new requirement would not affect any users who have opted for storage higher than 32GB. And most users today opt for more than 32GB of storage, so actually, very few will be affected by the change.
In addition to this, there are certain conditions that have been mentioned about RAM and processor as well for users who wish to run the Windows 10 for desktop software. Microsoft has mentioned that laptops that run Windows 10 for desktop should have at least 1GB of RAM for 32-bit Windows and more than 2GB of RAM for 6-bit Windows. Coming to the devices that run Windows 10 for desktop editions, they would require a processor that is clocked at 1GHz or more and is compatible with either x86 or x64 instruction set. The processor should also have support for PAE, NX and SSE2, CMPXCHG16b and LAHF/SAH. In addition to this, it should also support PrefetchW for 64-bit OS installation. It is worth adding that Windows 10 May 2019 update (Windows 10 version 1903) is already available for download on Microsoft’s Media Creation Tool. However, users would still need a valid Windows 10 license to download the latest update. The software giant has also announced that it will be rolling out the May 2019 update slowly in order to collect data about potential bugs before too many people are affected by it. Microsoft becomes a $1 trillion company

2
Software giant Microsoft has now become the third company in the United States to cross a market capital of $1 trillion. The company today passed the milestone briefly after a jump in stock price, which followed strong fiscal Q3 earnings. Microsoft has joined Apple and Amazon in hitting the $1 trillion valuation. It is worth noticing that as of now, Google has not been able to hit this mark. The stock price of the software giant at $130 per share today, which is around a 4% increase from the $125 closing price yesterday. While the stock price is expected to fluctuate, Microsoft has already hit the $1 trillion market within the NASDAQ day trading hours today. The company’s current valuation also goes to show that Microsoft has again taken over Cupertino-based technology giant Apple as the world’s most valuable company. This comes after Microsoft briefly passed Apple in November. The company’s stock has gone up because of its growth in cloud. Microsoft has made a lot of efforts in pushing its cloud products in the recent years and now, the company is eyeing to catch up to Amazon’s AWS dominance. It is also worth pointing out that as of now, Azure is second behind Amazon for cloud services and it is ahead of Google’s own offerings. The software company’s latest earnings have revealed that the three main buckets in which Microsoft has split its businesses are doing well and are more or less contributing the same amount of revenue this quarter – around 30% each. Here’s a look at the revenue break up:
  • Office, Dynamics and LinkedIn = $10.2 billion
  • Azure cloud, enterprise services and server products = $9.7 billion
  • Windows, Surface and Xbox = $10.7 billion
We should mention that the $1 trillion valuation is something that investors would really care about, even if Microsoft does not. Speaking on this, Chris Capossela, Microsoft’s chief marketing officer had said last year, “This is a metric that nobody on the senior leadership team is tracking. Nobody is sitting around high-fiving when the stock hits some new high.” It is also worth adding that Cupertino based technology giant Apple was the first ever company to cross the $1 trillion mark. The smartphone company was closely followed by e-commerce giant Amazon. Both the companies crossed the $1 trillion valuation last year itself. As we mentioned earlier, Google is yet to reach the market value, but then, it’s only a matter of time.
