Infinix, a Hong Kong-based smartphone company has officially launched its new smartphone series in the global market. The company has introduced Infinix Note 10, Note 10 Pro and Note 10 Pro NFC. The Infinix Note 10 Series is the successor to the existing Note 8 Series that was launched last year. All three devices share a lot of similarities except for the cameras and the NFC feature.

Infinix Note 10 price starts at $200 that translates to Rs 14,713 and the price of the Note 10 Pro will be available with a starting price of Rs $260 that comes around Rs 19,127. The price of the NFC version is yet to be revealed. The standard version will be offered in three colour options of Black, Emerald Green, and Purple whereas the Pro model will come in Black, Nordic Secret, and Purple colour options. The company is yet to reveal availability details for other market but the previous leaks suggest that the Pro variant will also arrive in the Indian market.

All the three smartphone features a 6.95-inch FHD+ LCD display with a 1080×2460 pixel resolution. It offers a 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz sampling rate. The regular variant is powered by MediaTek Helio G85 chipset paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. On the other hands Note 10 Pro and Note 10 Pro NFC equips a MediaTek Helio G95 processor coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. These three devices come with a dedicated microSD slot to expand the phone’s storage. Additionally, the handsets also run XOS 7.6 based on Android 11.

Infinix Note 10, Note 10 Pro and Note 10 Pro NFC are backed by a similar 5,000mAh battery but Note 10 supports 18W fast charging while the other two siblings have support 33W fast charging technology.

Speaking of the cameras the Infinix Note 10 features a triple rear camera set up that includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel mono lens. On the front, it sports a 16-megapixel selfie camera.

On the other hand both Infinix Note 10 Pro and Note 10 Pro NFC comes with a quad rear camera setup that includes a 64-megapixel primary sensor with a 1/1.7 aperture. Further assisted by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens with 120-degrees of FoV, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel monochrome lens. Upfront there is a 16-megapixel camera sensor for taking selfies.

The specification of Infinx Note 10 and Note 10 NFC are identical except for the NFC support.

Poco M3 Pro 5G to launch globally on May 19

Poco is all set to launch a new smartphone in the market. The company has now confirmed to introduce Poco M3 Pro 5G in the Global market. It should be noted that the device also appeared on the BIS certification website suggesting the launch. But in the light of COVID-19 Poco will not launch any new phone in the near future in the country but will launch Poco M3 Pro 5G globally on May 19. The device is said to be a modified variant of Redmi Note 10 5G. 

Poco took to Twitter to announce the arrival of the Poco M3 Pro 5G in the market. As per the latest launch poster revealed shared by the company, the launch event will be hosted virtually to unveil the upcoming phone. The virtual event is scheduled for May 19 that will kickstart at 20:00 GMT (1:30 AM IST).

The tweet says, “Look out! Another POCO launch is coming your way! #POCOM3Pro 5G is coming in hot! Who’s ready for more? Stay tuned for May 19th. We are bringing you #MoreSpeedMoreEverything!”

According to an FCC listing, Poco M3 Pro 5G is revealed to be a rebadged variant of Redmi Note 10 5G that was launched last month in the European market. So everything on the upcoming 5G phone would be the same as the Redmi device with just different branding. On the other hand, this handset with a similar model number was spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website which hinted at the imminent launch in India. As per the report the device has been found with model numbers M2103K19PI and M2103K19PG respectively. The G in the model number M2103K19PG stands for ‘Global’ that was spotted on the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) filling.

On the specification part, the Poco M3 Pro 5G will share the same specs as the Redmi Note 10 5G but there will be slight changes in the design. The device is expected to come with a 6.5-inch full-HD+ LCD panel with 1,080×2,400 pixels of resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate panel and 500 nits of brightness. The device will include an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM, and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage.

On the camera front, Poco M3 Pro 5G will sport a triple camera module on the back of the Poco M3 Pro 5G will be housing a 48-megapixel primary sensor. It will be accompanied by a 2-megapixel depth and 2-megapixel macro sensors. Upfront there is going to be an 8-megapixel selfie sensor. The mobile phone will be backed by a 5,000mAh battery that would be supported by 22.5W fast-charging tech.

Separately, Poco has extended the warranty of its phones by two month due to the COVID crisis in India. In addition to this, it has also delayed all their upcoming launches in the country till the current scenario improves. Poco India stated, “Poco India has consciously decided to not conduct any launch in May 2021. We are pausing our new launches as we hope for the situation to improve. We will keep you posted on further developments”

Battlegrounds Mobile India pre-registrations to go live from May 18 on Google Play Store, rewards specific to Indian players also announced

Recently Krafton announced to relaunch PUBG Mobile India in a new Avatar as Battlegrounds Mobile India. At the time of the announcement the developer also revealed that before the launch the new battle royal game will be available for pre-registration in the country and will be exclusively available to India only. Today the South Korean video game developer, has announced the official date for pre-registrations of Battlegrounds Mobile India.

As per the latest announcement by Krafton, the long-awaited pre-registrations for Battlegrounds Mobile India would officially go live in the country on May 18 that is on Tuesday next week. So in order to get pre-registered for the upcoming game all you need to do is visit the Google Play Store and click on the “Pre-Register” button. 

On pre-registration for Battlegrounds Mobile India, the company will be offering India specific rewards for fans to claim. According to Krafton, the rewards will automatically be available to claim on the game launch. The game does not have a release date yet but according to the developers, the game is coming soon.

Sanhok Map

Apart from this the Battlegrounds Mobile India aka PUBG Mobile India will be a free-to-play battle royal game and the gameplay experience will be similar to the original PUBG Mobile but with few changes for the Indian region only. And recently the popular Sanhok map was also teased through a poster on its official Facebook page. The poster appears to be of the Ban Tai map location from the Sanhok. This map was brought to the original PUBG Mobile in September 2018 and will be available to Battlegrounds Mobile India as well. It is one of the five maps available but is smaller than Erangel and Miramar maps both being 8×8 km in size. The Sanhok is a 4×4 map and is mainly inspired by the rain forests in Southeast Area.

In addition to this, Battlegrounds Mobile India will also come with a new privacy policy criterion for players under 18 years of age. The company will not knowingly collect, use or share any personal information for those who are under 18 years of age without verifiable parental consent or as permitted by law. Moreover, they would need to share a parent or guardian’s phone number to be able to play the game. Also under 18 users will only be able to access or play the maximum of 3 hours a day and the maximum daily amount of using paid service will be Rs 7,000.

After teasing for a long time, Xiaomi officially unveiled its latest TWS earbud in the market. The company has introduced Xiaomi FlipBuds Pro true wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds in China. These earbuds feature an active noise reduction of 40dB. It comes with a stem design and in-ear tips similar to Apple’s AirPods. In addition to this, it supports fast charging and Qualcomm AptX Adaptive dynamic codec protocol.

Xiaomi FlipBuds Pro is the company’s most premium noise-cancelling headset. The device features 11mm super dynamic drivers and is powered by a QCC5151 chip. The device comes integrated with an independent noise reduction chip that brings a maximum 40dB deep noise reduction effect. This feature is said to block up to  99% of background noise. Moreover, the earphones support a 3-speed noise reduction mode- Daily mode, Office mode, and Air Travel mode. The Daily mode blocks outdoor noise such as carriage noise and human conversation when in the subway or in a train. The Office mode filters out light noises such as computer operations, air conditioning motors and more. Whereas, the Air Travel mode effectively reduces the large loudness and low-frequency roar of the aircraft while maintaining the balance of ear pressure.

Apart from this, the FlipBuds Pro has support for dual transparency mode which also lets you pay attention to the surrounding environment while you enjoy listening to music. The voice enhancement can be set separately to keep the voice clearer so that you can communicate free while wearing the earphones. On the other hand, the dual device smart connection allows the FlipBuds to connect to up to two devices at the same time. You can attend voice calls while enjoying videos or music on your laptop.

The Xiaomi FlipBuds Pro has support for Bluetooth v5.2 along with Bluetooth Low Energy, HFP, A2DP, AVRCP, and SPP as connectivity options. As the TWS earphones are touch-enabled so you can control music with the touch gestures easily. Whereas the ANC can be enabled or disabled on long pressing the earbuds.

The device also supports Qualcomm’s aptX Adaptive dynamic codec protocol support and with Bluetooth 5.2 technology, it brings a low-latency game audio and video experience, playing games, watching movies, audio and video synchronization.

The TWS earbuds are said to deliver 2 hours of music playback in just 5 minutes of charge. And the battery life can reach 28 hours with the charging case. In addition to this, the earbuds support Qi wireless charging.

The price of the Xiaomi FlipBuds Pro is set at CNY 799 that translates to Rs 9,100. The device will be available in a single black colour option. It is scheduled to go on sale in China starting May 21 and currently, they are up for pre-orders.

MediaTek launched Dimensity 900 SoC based on 6nm architecture

Taiwanese semiconductor manufacturer, MediaTek, has today introduced its latest 5G mobile SoC. The company has launched the MediaTek Dimensity 900 is a quad-core chipset that is based on 6nm architecture. This mobile processor comes integrated with Arm Mali-G68 MC4 GPU for the graphics. The successor to the MediaTek Dimensity 820 SoC has been optimised for better photography in any lighting condition, HD video, smooth and lag-free gaming and not to forget super fast 5G connection along with extended battery life. It has support for Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, ultra-fast FHD+ 120Hz displays and a 108MP main camera.

“Dimensity 900 brings a suite of connectivity, display and 4K HDR visual enhancements to mid-tier 5G smartphones and gives brands great design flexibility for their 5G portfolios,” said Dr JC Hsu, Corporate VP and GM of MediaTek’s Wireless Communications Business Unit. “The chipset’s support for 5G and Wi-Fi 6 ensures users get the most out of their devices with super-fast and reliable connectivity.”

MediaTek Dimensity 900

The all-new MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC comes with 2x Arm Cortex-A78 up to 2.4GHz and six Arm Cortex-A55 up to 2GHz. Integrated with Arm Mali-G68 GPU, the chipset is built on the 6nm high-performance manufacturing node with 3rd Generation MediaTek APU. According to the company, this chipset is 8% more power-efficient than its predecessor Dimensity 900 which is based on 7nm architecture.

Whereas for the display the Dimensity 900 will support a full-HD+ display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate and MediaTek MiraVision HDR video technology. It can intelligently adjust a wide range of video stream factors, including colour, brightness, contrast, sharpness, and dynamic range. Additionally, it can carry Real-time HDR Composer (SDR to HDR) and enhanced HDR10+ Video Playback with per-frame local tone mapping. 

On the camera front,, the MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC can support up to 108-megapixel main sensor or 20+20-megapixel sensors @30FPS. It also supports a 4K HDR video recording engine and captures images in extreme low-light conditions (3DNR + MFNR). Over that it can decode 4K videos @ 30FPS, HEVC/H.264/VP9 and encode 4K videos @ 30FPS, HEVC/H.264.

Now coming to connectivity, MediaTek SoC can back up Wi-Fi 6 (2×2 MIMO), Bluetooth 5.2 and Multi-GNSS L1+L5 for wireless connectivity. Other than this it supports Dual 5G SIM (5G SA+5G SA), Up to 2.7Gbps DL. For storing content it can have both UFS 2.1 / UFS 3.1 storage and LPDDR4X / LPDDR5 memory.

Today in India, Redmi India brought its latest smartwatch alongside the Redmi Note 10S smartphone. Redmi Watch features a 1.4-inch square dial and GPS support. In addition to this, there are 11 sports modes and health features on the wearable. To recall, the smartwatch was launched in China in November last year however the company has launched a much-improved version in the Indian market.

The Redmi Watch has been introduced in India with a price tag of Rs 3,999. This smartwatch will be available in four different strap colour options Black, Blue, Ivory, and Olive. The Redmi Watch features a square-shaped 1.4-inch TFT LCD full touch coloured display with 2.5D curved glass and a single button on the side frame. The screen offers 320×320 pixels of resolution and 350 nits brightness. The intuitive auto-brightness feature on the watch understands the environment and adjusts accordingly. It comes with TPU Skin-friendly and ultra-soft straps that are available in 4 colour options and three options for watch cases. In addition to this one can customise the display for every style as it lets you pick from more than 200 watch faces it offers.

The Redmi Watch is 5ATM water-resistant that can withstand up to 50 metres of water. There is an in-built Dual satellite positioning system with GPS+GLONASS along with multiple sensors that can accurately track your trajectory, speed, distance and calories burnt precisely. Moreover, it is also said to measure any changes in heart rate, providing a clear picture of your workout status. The smartwatch also lets you choose from 11 sports modes that include outdoor cycling, indoor cycling, running, treadmill, walking, swimming in the pool, free activities and more. The Redmi smartwatch also consists of a PPG heart rate sensor, three-axis acceleration sensor, geomagnetic sensor, barometer, gyroscope, and an ambient light sensor. The PPG sensor can accurately detect your heart rate 24 hours a day and notify you when your heart rate goes above normal levels. 

In addition to this, sleep monitoring can analyse your sleep quality by recording complete sleep data such as deep sleep, light sleep and sleep duration to help maintain good sleeping habits. You can also perform guided breathing exercises for 1 to 5 minutes at the set.

According to the company, the battery on the fitness watch can run for up to 10 days in typical usage mode and 10 hours in continuous GPS sports mode. It also takes 2 hours to charge from zero to 100 percent.

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has officially introduced the fourth smartphone to the popular Redmi Note series in India. The company has launched Redmi Note 10S as its latest device in the country. The phone is powered by MediaTek Helio G95 SoC and it features a  quad rear camera setup. In addition to this, it comes with an AMOLED display and packs a 5,000mAH battery with 33 fast charging support.

Redmi Note 10S has debuted in India with two different configurations of 6GB RAM with 64GB storage and 6GB RAM with 128GB memory. The 64GB variant will be available with a price tag of Rs 14,999 whereas the 128GB storage model price has been set at Rs 15,999. Both the models will come in Deep Sea Blue, Frost White, and Shadow Black colour options. 

The device is scheduled to go on sale starting May 18 at 12 PM onwards via mi.com, amazon.com and other retail outlets across the country.

Redmi Note 10S is highlighted with a 6.43-inch full-HD+ display with 1,080×2,400 pixels of resolution. It also offers a 4,500,000:1 contrast ratio, brightness up to 1,100 nits and  SGS low blue light certification. This AMOLED display also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. On the software front, the phone runs MIUI 12.5 on top on top of Android 11 and is powered by MediaTek Helio G95 SoC, paired with Mail-G76 MC4 GPU for graphics and up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

The imaging department is taken care of by a quad rear camera setup. This includes 64-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.79 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, a two 2-megapixel macro and a depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. In terms of selfies, it sports a 13-megapixel front-facing camera having an f/2.45 aperture.

The smartphone is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. In addition to this, the Redmi Note 10S is IP53 certified and includes dual speakers and Hi-Res Audio certification. In terms of connectivity, there is 4G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, IR Blaster, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port for charging. The Taiwan based smartphone company, Asus, has officially unveiled its much-anticipated flagship smartphones globally. Yes, the Asus Zenfone 8 series is official now, which includes Asus Zenfone 8 Flip and Zenfone 8. The former one comes with a camera system with a flipping mechanism whereas the latter one has a fixed camera module and is much more compact now.

The price of the Asus Zenfone 8 Flip is set at €799 for the 8GB RAM with 256GB of storage that translates to Rs 71,105. This phone is now available for pre-orders in the European market and is expected to be available in more regions soon.

On the other hand, the Asus Zenfone 8 comes in multiple configurations. The price of the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage is set at €599 that translates to Rs 53,207, 8RAM with 128GB storage at €669 (approx Rs 62,090) and 8RAM with 256GB storage at €729 (approx Rs 64,754). Lastly, the 16GB RAM with 256GB storage will be available with a price tag of €799 that translates to around Rs 70,972. All the models are now up for pre-orders and are scheduled to go on sale in Europe and Taiwan starting May 31.

Asus Zenfone 8 Flip

This the most premium device from the series and its biggest USP is its camera set up that can flip from rear to front; it may also serve as a selfie camera. This model will be available in two colour options of Galactic Black and Glacier Silver. The Asus Zenfone 8 Flip features a  no notch 6.67-inch Samsung AMOLED display with 1,080×2,400 pixels of resolution with a 20:9 aspect ratio. The display has a 90Hz refresh rate support with a 200Hz touch sampling rate, 700 nits of peak brightness with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. 

Asus Zenfone 8 Flip

The device runs Android 11 with ZenUI 8 and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor paired with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage which can be expanded using a microSD card.

For optics, there is a triple camera with a flip mechanism that includes a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. In addition to this, there is a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and OmniVision sensor. The camera module is protected by Gorilla Glass 3.

The Asus Zenfone 8 Flip lacks an IP rating and a 3.5mm audio jack but does have stereo speakers with dedicated NXP mono amps, NXP amplifiers, and Hi-Res Audio. Moreover, the device packs a 5,000mAh battery supported by 30W fast charging tech.

Asus Zenfone 8 comes with a small and compact form factor for single-handed usage. The size of the phone has been compressed to a 5.9 inch AMOLED display with 2,400 x 1,080-pixel resolution. It comes with a 120Hz refresh rate support for a super-smooth display. It has HDR10+ support with a 20:9 aspect ratio and an IP68 dust and water resistance rating and is guarded by Gorilla Glass Victus.

The smartphone runs on ZenUI 8 on top of Android 11. Under the hood, there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Instead of a flip mechanism, Asus Zenfone 8 has gone with a fixed dual camera set up that includes a  64-megapixel Sony IMX686 primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 12-megapixel Sony IMX363 ultra-wide-angle camera with Dual PDAF that also supports 4cm macro photography. Upfront there is a 12-megapixel selfie camera housed inside a punch hole cut out at the left side corner of the display. It should be noted that the company has not compromised with the features here; the camera set up here has Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) which Flip lacked.

Unlike its sibling, the device includes an audio jack at the top, two linear speakers fine-tuned by Dirac HD sound technology with dual Cirrus Logic mono amps and Hi-Res Audio. In addition to this, there is an Audio Wizard app to customise the equaliser. The phone supports 30W HyperCharge with a 4,000mAh battery.

It will run MIUI 12.5 based on the top of Android 11. Under the hood, there will be a MediaTek Helio G95 SoC with Hyperengine game tech for optimised gameplay. The device is confirmed to boast a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. 

On the camera front, the Redmi Note 10S is expected to comes with a quad rear-camera set up that consists of a 64-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a two 2-megapixel macro and a depth sensor. For selfies, it will include a 13-megapixel front-facing camera.

Redmi Watch expected specifications

Xiaomi has not yet revealed the name of its upcoming smartwatch however the Redmi Watch is the only wearable that has been launched under its sub-brand Redmi. The device was launched in China last year in three shades of Elegant Black, Ink Blue, and Ivory White. It features a 1.4-inch square-shaped display offering 320×320 pixels of resolution and 323ppi pixel density. The smartwatch supports NFC and offers 120 watch face options.

The Redmi Watch comes with eleven sports modes and it also offers health-related features such as an optical heart rate sensor, sleep monitor, effective stand monitoring, and breathing exercises. The smart wearable houses a 230mAh battery that delivers approximately seven days of battery life in normal mode and up to 12 days in long battery life mode.

The Japanese laptops manufacturer VAIO Corporation has launched its two new laptops in the Indian market. The company has updated the Vaio SE14 and the Vaio SX14 with the latest 11th generation Intel core processors. Both the laptops feature minimalist design and durability. The former one comes with an LCD screen while the latter one is highlighted with a 4K display. The devices will be up for sale via the e-commerce website Amazon. 

Speaking of the specifications Vaio SE14 has a 14-inch Full HD IPS anti-glare LCD screen with 1920×1080 pixels of resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio. The laptop is powered by an 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor / Quad Core 11th Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor paired with Intel Iris Xe Graphics. It will run Windows 10 Home and will be available in 8GB / 16GB DDR4 2400MHz RAM and 512GB / 1TB PCIe SSD.

The Vaio SE14 includes a 1080P IR Front Web Camera in addition to 4 speakers and a microphone optimized for Cortana. The computing device has an in-built fingerprint sensor. In terms of connectivity, there is a Dual-Band Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+), Bluetooth 5.1, two USB Type-C port, Thunderbolt 4 (PD, DP), two USB type-A 3.2 (one for charging), HDMI v1.4 (supporting up to 3840×2160p @ 30 Hz), headphone jack and Mic-in (combo) and one SD card reader. The Vaio laptop can last up to 12 hours on a single charge.

On the other hand, Vaio SX14 features a 14.0-inch Ultra HD 4K screen with 3840×2160 pixels of resolution. Under the chassis, there is a 1.10GHz Quad Core 10th Gen Intel Core i7-10710U Processor with Turbo Boost up to 4.70GHz and  Intel UHD Graphics. It will be offering 16GB LPDDR3 2133 MHz RAM and 1TB PCIe SSD. There is a CMOS Sensor 2MP HD Web Camera (IR) and has Dolby audio and stereo mic support. In addition to this, the laptop comes integrated with a fingerprint sensor and face recognition for security and the  Li-ion Battery can last for 6 hours on a single charge.

On the connectivity front, there is  Dual-Band Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, 1 X Network(LAN): 1000BASE-T/100BASE-TX/10BASE-T, one USB Type-CTM port, 3 USB ports, an HDMI port, a VGA connector and a LAN connection.

The price of the Vaio SE14 starts at Rs 88,990 whereas the Vaio SX14 will be available at starting price of Rs 1,72,990 in India. The SE14 will be made available in two colour options of Red Copper and Dark Grey. Both these laptops can be purchased via Amazon.com in the country.

Poco extended warranty across all its products by two months due to COVID-19 second wave in India

India has been hit hard by the second wave of Coronavirus and till the current situation improves Poco has come forward show support by announcing an extension of warranty support for their customers. As per the smartphone company, there will be a free extended warranty for two months on all its smartphones.

Poco took to Twitter to announce the warranty extension on all its products in view of the coronavirus crisis. The tweet reads “We know that the past few months have been extremely difficult on everyone. To make things easier, we’re extending 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝑷𝑶𝑪𝑶 𝒑𝒉𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒔 𝒃𝒚 𝒕𝒘𝒐 𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒉𝒔. All, for your safety.”

According to the Chinese smartphone company, the warranty extension is only applicable to those whose warranty expires in the month of May/June this year. It says that “if your warranty is expiring in May or June this year then we have already extended the warranty of your products by two months. We would want our customers to take full care of themselves and their loved ones and not worry one bit about their POCO devices. We have got them covered.”

Apart from this, the company has also delayed all their upcoming launches in the country till the current scenario improves. Poco India stated, “Poco India has consciously decided to not conduct any launch in May 2021. We are pausing our new launches as we hope for the situation to improve. We will keep you posted on further developments”

It should be noted that Poco M3 Pro 5G recently received BIS certification and was expected to launch this month. The device is said to be a rebranded variant of the Redmi Note 10 5G smartphone that is expected to feature a  6.5-inch full-HD+ LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate panel. The device is likely to equip an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM, and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage.

In terms of cameras, Poco M3 Pro 5G will feature a triple rear camera set up with 8-megapixel primary sensor, 2-megapixel depth and 2-megapixel macro sensors. On the front, it is said to include an 8-megapixel selfie sensor.

Instagram now letting add pronouns to your profile: Here is how

The popular photo-sharing app Instagram is rolling out a new feature of adding pronouns to your profile on its platform. Currently, this new field is available in a few countries only. According to the social media company, this is a new way to express yourself on Instagram.

Facebook-owned Instagram took to Twitter to announce the arrival of pronouns to its platform. The users will now be able to add up to four pronouns on their profile. These can either be shared publicly or the user can choose to display to tier followers only. At the moment the feature is limited to a few countries and the company did not specify the names of regions it will be accessible to but it has plans to extend it to other markets in the future.

Vishal Shah, Vice President of Product at Instagram also took to Twitter to introduce this feature to Indian users. His tweet reads, “Now you can add pronouns to your profile with a new field. It’s another way to express yourself on Instagram, and we’ve seen a lot of people adding pronouns already, so hopefully, this makes it even easier. Available in a few countries today with plans for more.”

The users will be able to use the bio space on their profile to add several pronouns such as he/him, she/her and they/them. These pronouns will be displayed on your profile in small grey characters beside your usernames.

These gender-inclusive pronouns and prefixes are currently accessible in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia.

Here is how you can add pronouns to your Instagram profile?

Firstly, go to the Edit Profile section on your Instagram profile. Then you will see an option to add pronouns right beneath the Name column. There you can add pronouns like they/them/theirs, she/her/hers, he/him/his. These pronouns can be seen publicly on your profile or you can choose to share them only with your followers. While those who are below 18 years of age the pronouns will only be allowed to be seen by your followers only and not to the public. 

The users can also fill up a form at https://help.instagram.com/contact/ to have a pronoun added which is not available as options or can give suggestions. According to the social media channel, it will continue to update the list of terms over time, so that more people around the world can share their pronouns more easily.  

Much before Instagram brought this feature to its platform other social media and dating apps such as OkCupid already allows its users to add pronouns to their profiles.

Xiaomi is all set to expand its TWS earbuds portfolio under its Mi brand. The company has announced to unveil Mi FlipBuds Pro or Xiaomi FlipBuds Pro on May 13 in China. The upcoming Xiaomi’s True wireless earbuds are teased to come with an active noise reduction feature. The company has not revealed much about its forthcoming audio product but it has shared some teaser images on a Chinese microblogging website.

According to a recent Weibo post, Xiaomi is going to launch its next true wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds in the market. As per the teaser, the earbuds will be called FlipBuds Pro and these will make their debut on May 13 in China. Details about its arrival in other markets are yet to be revealed.

As per the teaser image, the FlipBuds Pro will be featuring an active noise reduction of 40dB. In terms of design, the Mi FlipBuds Pro or Xiaomi FlipBuds Pro will come with a stem design and in-ear tips. The charging case and earbuds will both come in a black finish.

On the other hand, Xiaomi has also scheduled a launch event in India where it will introduce a gaming smartphone and new smartwatch. The launch of the Redmi Note 10S and Redmi Watch is set for the same day, May 13 at noon in India. 

The Redmi Note 10S is the fourth addition to the Redmi Note 10 Series in India which already includes Redmi Note 10, Redmi Note 10 Pro, and Redmi Note 10 Pro Max. The upcoming smartphone is expected to feature a 6.43-inch full-HD+AMOLED hole-punch display. It will run MIUI 12.5 based on the top of Android 11 and will be powered by  MediaTek Helio G95 SoC. The device is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. There will and 64-megapixel quad rear-camera set and a 13-megapixel front-facing camera.

Whereas Redmi Watch will come with a 1.4-inch square-shaped display. It will offer 120 watch face options and NFC support. The smartwatch is 5ATM water-resistant and it will include eleven sports modes that include outdoor cycling, indoor cycling, running, treadmill, walking, swimming in the pool, free activities and more. It will also offer health-related features such as an optical heart rate sensor, sleep monitor, effective stand monitoring, and breathing exercises.

11th Generation Intel Core H-series mobile processors launched for mobile gaming, content creation and commercial workstation

Intel has announced the new 11th Gen Intel Core H-series chipsets based on the Tiger Lake mobile platform. The new CPUs are aimed at gaming enthusiasts and creators. The company has launched a total of 10 chipsets for high-end devices and for the commercial vPro-enabled models. Intel Core i9-11980HK is the flagship processor and is touted to be “World’s Best Gaming Laptop Processor.” It is said to deliver the highest performance in laptops for gaming, content creators and business professionals reaching speeds of up to 5.0 gigahertz (GHz).

The latest 11th Gen Intel Core H-series mobile processors are based on 10nm SuperFin process tech and can reach up to 5.0 GHz with single and dual-core turbo performance and up to eight cores and 16 threads and PCIs Gen 4 support.

Chris Walker, Intel corporate vice president and general manager of the Mobile Client Platforms Group at the launch commented, “11th Gen Intel Core H-series processors take mobile gaming, content creation and commercial workstation systems to new heights. The newly launched CPUs has direct access to the high-speed GDDR6 memory attached to the graphics card. This enables higher framerates with lower latency, and load large textures faster during gameplay. In addition to this, the processors will also offer 2.5 times the total PCIe bandwidth to the CPU compared with the 10th Gen H-series processors, and three times the total PCIe bandwidth compared with other industry processors.

Apart from this, the 11th Gen Intel Core H-series mobile processors offer 4k HDR/Dolby Vision video streaming, rich configurations with fast storage, hybrid Intel Optane storage for high performance and capacity, 6GHz Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+) support, and Thunderbolt 4 with up to 40 gigabytes (GBs) per second for faster connections.

Furthermore, the new platform will include 20 lanes of PCIe Gen 4 with Intel Rapid Storage Technology bootable in Raid 0 and up to 44 total PCIe lanes that include 24 PCIe Gen 3.0 lanes from a dedicated platform controller hub. With memory support of up to DDR4-3200, the new mobile processors also include Thunderbolt 4 with transfer speeds up to 40Gbps and Dual Embedded Display Port integrated for power-optimized companion display.

Besides this, the company has also launched new Intel vPro H-series processors led by the eight-core and 16-thread Intel Core i9-11950H and Intel Xeon W-11000 series mobile processors. This is based on the 11th Gen Intel vPro platform for engineers, data scientists, content creators and financial analysts who need to tackle multi-threaded, performance-intensive applications at their desk. These new platforms will offer Xeon + Error Correcting Code (ECC) memory. Whereas the Intel Hardware Shield​ will be exclusively available on the Intel vPro platform, as delivered by 11th Gen Intel Core vPro mobile processors in order to provide the most comprehensive hardware-based security for business to help stop ransomware and cryptomining attacks for Windows-based systems.

It also equips Intel Control-flow Enforcement Technology, to help shut down an entire class of attacks that long evaded software-only solutions.

Confirmed: Carl Pei will launch his first TWS earbuds Nothing Ear 1 in June

OnePlus Co-founder Carl Pei’s Nothing is looking to go after consumer tech giants such as Apple, Samsung and OnePlus with the launch of its first true wireless earbuds in the market. The CEO confirmed to launch Nothing Ear 1 true wireless earphones (TWS) on June 1. The device was in development for some time now and is being developed since the announcement of the tech firm.

With the launch of Ear 1, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei aims to take on Apple’s AirPods, Samsung’s Galaxy Buds, and OnePlus’ Buds. He took on Twitter to share the news with regard to the company’s first true wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds. His tweet reads, “The greatest visions are not realized with the flip of a switch, but instead through countless small successes. @Nothing Ear 1 is just the start”

Separately, the announcement has also been made on the official website. As per the company’s CEO, the greatest visions are not realized with the flip of a switch, but instead through countless small successes. Ear 1 is just the start.

However, the company has not revealed the design concept of its upcoming TWS earphones but it did mention that Ear 1 combines notes of transparency, iconic form, and refined functionality. It is the starting point that will define the artistry, confidence and craftsmanship that will carry our products and services for years to come.

In addition to this, a teaser image has been shared which gives a glimpse of the form factor of the Ear 1 TWS earbuds. The earbuds have been designed in association with Stockholm-based Teenage Engineering.

The Nothing CEO Carl Pei has also hinted at releasing more products in the coming months. The blog post also hinted at the successor of Ear 1. It said, “Can you guess what the sequel will be called? Good. Us too.”

The audio device is not only scheduled to launch in other markets but in India as well in June however the exact date for the Indian launch is still not known. To recall, Nothing was established in October last year and it has also acquired Essential, a smartphone brand founded by Android co-creator Andy Rubin.

Today, the homegrown company, Lava Mobiles, announced the launch of its latest smartphone in the Indian market. The company has introduced the Lava Z2 Max smartphone which is backed by a massive 6,000mAh battery. In addition to this, it comes with a huge 7-inches display. All this is under Rs 10,000. This big screen and longer battery life will serve the purpose of e-learning for the students during the ongoing pandemic.

Mr Tejinder Singh, Product Head, Lava International says, “Students are the future of our country, and because of the unfortunate pandemic, there was a huge disruption in the education sector, and students were suddenly dependent on their parents’ devices for education. With Z2 Max, we at Lava are trying to ensure each student gets proper education and contributes to the growth of the nation in future. Moreover, online education is here to stay and will be an integral part of the education system in India. Students have started shifting to digital learning, which allows them to make it more personalized as well as interactive, and helps them understand better.”

Lava Z2 Max smartphone comes with a 7-inch HD+ IPS water-drop notch display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The device offers a 20.5:9 aspect ratio and 1,640×720 pixels of resolution and 258ppi. The smartphone runs Stock Android 10 Go and is powered by a MediaTek Helio processor paired with 2 GB DDR4X RAM and 32GB storage. The internal storage can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card.

On the back of the phone, there is a dual camera set up that includes a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary lens with LED Flash. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera with screen Flash. The rear camera supports HD recording at 720p and it includes various camera modes such as Beauty Mode, HDR Mode, Night Mode and Bokeh Mode.

The device is backed by a massive 6,000mAh battery that is touted to offer 14 hours of standby time when data off and 9 hours of YouTube playback time. There is 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, hotspot, GPRS, Bluetooth V 5.0, 3.5mm audio jack and USB Type-C port on the connectivity front. The sensors onboard include Accelerometer, Proximity, Ambient Light Sensor and face unlock.

Asus Zenfone 8 Series is set to launch globally on May 12 that is tomorrow. Recently, the Asus Zenfone 8 Pro also bagged the BIS certification in India suggesting the imminent launch. But as notified by the company’s head it has deferred the India launch till the present condition in India, due to rising cases of Coronavirus, improves. Although the global launch scheduled for tomorrow remains unchanged.

Dinesh Sharma, Business Head, Commercial PC and Smartphone, System Business Group, Asus India took to Twitter to notify that, “While the world is excited for the launch of our new smartphone, we at ASUS India have consciously decided to defer the launch till the current scenario improves. Our thoughts n prayers are with those affected with Covid #stayhomestaysafe, n emerge stronger! #IndiaFightsCOVID19”

The Global launch of the Asus Zenfone 8 Series is scheduled to happen on May 12. Recently, it was tipped to launch two phones — Asus ZenFone 8 and Asus ZenFone 8 Flip. As per the tipster Mukul Sharma, Asus Zenfone 8 which is also known as Mini will run ZenUI 8 based on Android 11. In addition to this, it will feature a 5.9-inch full-HD+ Samsung E4 AMOLED display. The screen will come protected with Gorilla Glass and will be offering 120Hz refresh rate support. Under the hood, it is likely to include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC paired with 16GB of RAM and  256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. 

In terms of cameras, the Asus ZenFone 8(mini) will not include any swivel mechanism. There will be a triple rear camera set up that is expected to include a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 primary lens, a secondary 12-megapixel wide-angle sensor, and another macro lens. The rear camera set up will support  EIS, 8K video recording, and 4K slow-motion @ 120fps. On the front, it is suggested to sport a 12-megapixel selfie camera. 

As per the tipster the device is expected to have 5G support, Bluetooth v5.2, Wi-Fi 6, FM Radio, USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm audio jack as connectivity options.

In addition to this, there will be a 4,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging support. There will be dual speakers with support for Nokia’s OZO audio technology and a Hi-Fi audio playback as well as a linear vibration motor. 

On the other hand Asus Zenfone 8 Flip was previously tipped to feature a flip camera that swivels. The swivel camera will flip 180 degrees to the top for taking selfies in addition to an edge-to-edge display with no hole-punch cutout or notch. The device will reportedly available in two colour options and a power button coloured in Blue. 

Moreover, it is said to feature a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it is expected to include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. The phone is most likely to pack a 5,000mAh battery with 30W fast charging support.

As per the report, Asus Zenfone 8 Flip will board three sensors inside the motorised camera module that is a 64-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor and a 12-megapixel macro shooter. Apart from this, the cameras are also expected to support 8K video recording.

In January this year, WhatsApp introduced the latest privacy policy to its users. The WhatsApp Policy change forced the users to agree to its new Terms and Services to continue using the app. The users were given a deadline of May 15 to accept its controversial privacy policy update, which created a stir amongst the users and faced severe backlash. But recently the new deadline for accepting the privacy policy was scrapped.

According to a WhatsApp spokesperson, “No accounts will be deleted on May 15 because of this update and no one in India will lose functionality of WhatsApp either. We will follow up with reminders to people over the next several weeks.”

The instant messaging platform on its website now stated that if the users did not accept the new privacy policy terms they would not face deletion but will encounter limited functionality of its platform. “No one will have their accounts deleted or lose functionality of WhatsApp on May 15th because of this update.” WhatsApp’s security and privacy page on the website stated.

According to WhatsApp, it has displayed a notification in WhatsApp providing more information about the update, therefore, giving everyone enough time to review hence it will continue to do so to those who haven’t had the chance to do so to review and accept. After a period of several weeks, the reminder people receive will eventually become persistent.

When the reminder becomes persistent to the WhatsApp users they will encounter limited functionality on WhatsApp until they accept the updates. However, this will not happen to all users at the same time.

So, what will happen if you do not accept the WhatsApp policy?

According to WhatsApp, when you don’t accept its policy it won’t let you access your chat list, but you can still answer the incoming phone and video calls. Also, you will still be able to tap on the notification to read or respond to a message or call back a missed phone or video call if you have the notifications enabled.

After a short while, you won’t be able to receive incoming calls or notifications and WhatsApp will stop sending messages and calls to your phone.

It should be noted that WhatsApp will not delete your account if you don’t accept the new update but its existing policy related to inactive users will apply. Also to turn over one’s mind the social media app has also warned the users and asked them to reconsider their decision of deleting their account on Android, iPhone, or KaiOS. According to WhatsApp deleting the account is something that can’t reverse as it erases the user’s message history, removes them from all of their WhatsApp groups, and deletes their WhatsApp backups.
