Fitbit has today launched its new fitness tracker in India today, however, it is worth noticing that you cannot buy the newly launched products like the ones that were earlier launched by the company. The first ever business to business tracker by the Fitbit — Fitbit Inspire — is only being made available with a few companies and some health insurance members with the fitness tracker maker. According to Fitbit, the fitness tracker is the most affordable one by the company yet, however, it hasn’t revealed the device’s exact pricing. Fitbit has also launched its Fitbit Inspire HR fitness tracker that comes with heart-rate tracking and some other key features aimed at healthcare. Speaking of Fitbit Inspire, it can track daily activities and sleep and sends users alerts for calls, texts and calendar events. The tracker has a touchscreen display and is water resistant, so it can be used while you go swimming. The company has also claimed that the Inspire fitness band’s battery can last up to five days when it is charged completely.
Coming to Fitbit Inspire’s HR variant, apart from tracking heart-rate, the fitness band can also be used to track sleep stages and record real-time pace and distance with the help of user’s smartphone’s GPS. While the Fitbit Inspire is available in Black and Sangria colours, Fitbit Inspire HS can be bought in Black, White/Black and Lilac colours. Both the devices can either be used as fitness bands or be used as clips, however, in order to use it as latter, you will have to buy a clip accessory. Speaking about the new fitness trackers, Fitbit has said on its website, “These special release trackers are available exclusively through Fitbit corporate, wellness, health plan, and health systems partners and customers of their organisations, participants, and members.” As of now, Fitbit is competing with Chinese consumer electronics maker Xiaomi and Cupertino based technology giant Apple in the fitness wearables market. In terms of shipments of devices, Xiaomi and Apple have the top two slots to themselves in the fitness wearables segment, while Fitbit currently sits on the third position.

Is this the price of iPhone XI, iPhone XI Max and iPhone XR’s successor?

0
We’ll get to see the next iPhones only months later in September. However, that doesn’t mean that reports about the upcoming iPhones are not being circulated online. After two sets of very different renders of the 2019 iPhones surfaced online, it was recently reported that Apple has plans to launch three iPhones in 2019, which will succeed iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR. Now, a report in Droid Shout says that the prices of the upcoming iPhones will be the same as iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR in the United States. Going by the report, the iPhone XI, iPhone XI Max and iPhone XR’s successor will also be priced at $999, $1099, $749 respectively. A big reason for this can be the fact that Apple has been losing iPhone revenue, and it has been speculated by a number of experts and research firms that the primary reason for it is the high pricing of the latest iPhone models. In India, which is a very important market for Apple, even the most affordable iPhone of the year – iPhone XR (review) – is priced over Rs 70,000.
Considering that a number of iPhone competitors are priced more reasonably, the exorbitant pricing hurt Apple’s revenue in 2018. However, in the United States, iPhone sales have remained unaffected in spite of the surge in pricing. So probably Apple is keeping both the markets in mind while taking this call. It certainly does not want to decrease the prices of 2019 iPhones, but will naturally be reluctant to increase the cost even more. Some days back, the Cupertino-based technology giant also announced that it will be reducing the cost of iPhones in countries where they are priced exorbitantly. Coming back to the report, it also said that iPhone XR successor will reportedly come with a dual rear camera setup, while iPhone XI and iPhone XI Max are said to sport triple rear cameras. Although the 2019 iPhone models are expected to retain the display notch, the one on iPhone XR’s successor will be wider than the one on iPhone XI Max. all the three models will reportedly feature a new coating that is said to enhance the grip and improve their scratch resistance.

12 countries from where you can buy Apple iPhone XR cheaper than India

The affordable iPhone of the year – Apple iPhone XR – recently got a price cut at Mahesh Telecom. But let’s face it, even in after the price slash, the iPhone XR can nowhere be considered ‘affordable’. Maybe only when its compared to the premium models that were launched this year – iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. Uber India introduces ‘Free Call’ feature between the rider and driver

0
Uber, the transportation network company introduced a new feature, which offers phone calls free of charge between the rider and the driver in India. The calls will be made through the Uber app itself using VoIP (Voice over Internet protocol). It is not a new feature Uber is coming with, as it was launched globally back in October 2018. After 3 months Uber has decided to bring this feature to the Indian market as well. But the calls are not just limited to the Uber app, as the drivers or the riders would be able to make calls through their cellular networks as well. This feature is not limited to just rider to driver calls but also vice-versa. Meaning, the driver can call the rider for free through the app, too. With this step Uber aims to enable the rider and driver communication without using their cellular balance. It will also help to keep both their numbers private since the calls made by the app will be through VoIP so no contact number is needed for the call. With an update Uber brought this feature throughout India and this feature is now available on the new updated Uber app. In the new update after booking a cab there will be an option of calling the driver, once clicked it will connect the rider with the driver. And with the VoIP call feature Uber is now offering two options, the old option is of making calls through the traditional cellular network. And the new option is of making ‘Free Call’ which uses VoIP. Once clicked on the call option the app will ask to grant permission to use the microphone of the device. Once allowed, the app will place the call and the rider will be able to see the name of the diver with a timer for the call.
When setting up the app for use, the user will be asked if they wish to call without sharing their number. Once this option is turned on the user’s phone number will not be visible on the driver’s side. It has given another layer of privacy to both the rider and driver where they can choose whether to share their number of not. Talking about the calling interface, it looks like a standard calling screen with options to mute the call, or to put the call on speaker mode along with an End call button. When calling, there won’t be a name or number, both (rider and driver) will be identified as ‘Uber’. With this new feature the rider won’t have to worry about not being to make calls when travelling because this feature uses just the internet. But there is also a concerns if the company will be recording these calls? Samsung is bringing the heat back in the mid-range smartphone market with its Galaxy M30, which will be announced and launched in India soon. Some specifications of the Galaxy M30 had already been leaked online, but this time an image of the next phone in M-series has been leaked. It shows the design and features it will be sporting. Just like the older phones in its lineup (like the Samsung Galaxy M20) it too will have the infinity-V display with a water-drop notch on top and small chin bezel at the bottom. Unlike the other two M-series phones which sport TFT displays, the M30 might have an AMOLED display. Its screen size is likely to be of 6.38-inch with FHD+ resolution. The leaked image shows a triple camera setup at the back, which might be of 13MP + 5MP + 5MP combination. Similar to the Samsung Galaxy M10 and the Galaxy M20, which has big batteries the Samsung Galaxy M30 might come with a 5,000mAh battery. Talking about its processor, it might have the mid-range Exynos processor, the Exynos 7904. With the upcoming launch of the newest phone, Samsung Galaxy M30, in its M-series lineup Samsung wishes to dominate the low to mid-range smartphone market. And Samsung is planning to compete and take over the user base from the existing market players. Keeping the mid-range section in mind Samsung Galaxy M30 might be priced under Rs 20,000 mark in India, as it is targeted towards the younger audience. Nintendo Switch may get 12 new games this year: Here’s everything you should know

While 2017 was a great year for Nintendo witch in terms of games, 2018 couldn’t really match up to it. With 2019 in full swing now, all Nintendo Switch owners are hoping for the company to do as well as it did in 2017. And from what it seems, the company is planning to ramp up its performance this year. Nintendo already has some decent offerings for its owners this year including Yoshi’s Crafted World, Luigi’s Mansion 3, a new game from Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Daemon X Machina, a new Pokemon game, and probably Bayonetta 3 too. However, if a recent report is to be believed, all these games are not all that Nintendo plans to get for its users this year. In fact, this is just the tip of the ice-berg. The report suggests that Nintendo still has 12 unannounced Switch games that the company will launch this year.
We should mention that this has been reported by Emily Rogers, who is a renowned reporter and Nintendo insider and her previous leaks about the company have been very accurate. It was Rogers who had reported everything about Nintendo’s Switch even before the console was revealed or launched. The recent report about Nintendo’s 12 unannounced games for Switch surfaced online on ResetEra. The report further said that all these games will be launched by the company this year itself and among them, three games are eShop-only titles, one is Nintendo Labo kit, two are Wii U ports. The remaining six games that the company plans to launch this year are big retail games. According to the report, among the 12 games, nine have more than 75% of being launched this year and the other three – among which two are bigger retail games and one is Wii u port – have about 50% chance of releasing this year. The report also said that the latter group is basically the Metroid Prime Trilogy, however, it has not officially been confirmed yet. And another game among the 12 is Retro Studios secret project, which may be the Star Fox Racing. Even though Rogers has a history of giving out accurate reports about Nintendo, we should suggest that as of now, you must take everything with a pinch of salt as it’s too early to comment on whether this information is true or not, considering that there is no other leak on the internet that is in line with it. And if you don’t have a Nintendo Switch and think you’ll be missing out on a lot this year, you can order one for yourself here.

And today in the age of technology with hackers and cyber-terrorism on the rise, our data is not safe online. The hackers are developing new ways and methods to extract and misuse our precious data. Sure, the prominent tech industries is developing new ways to safeguard our digital journey and are coming up with new and better ways. But it is also true that the hackers are improvising and learning new things to bypass the safeguards kept to protect us. Spam calls and messages are a thing of past now where they ask the user to open links or malicious websites, which could give your personal details to the hacker. From there they could exploit the data in a way they see fit. Now, the hackers have found a new way of stealing user data and that is through Google’s own Google Translate.
Google which stands above everything tech is being used to phish into the accounts of the users to steal data, a report on ZDNet read. Google translate is a translation app/program built by Google to help people understand another language. It translates the content, webpage to user’s choice of language. And hackers have found a loophole in this program, which allows them access to a user’s account when they interact with it. According to the report, hackers are using Google Translate to send malicious mails of a fake website URL (uniform resource locator) to the users. When the user interacts with the phishing mail, he is redirected to the fake URL with Google Translate icon on it. It appears like a regular website, but it is definitely not. Once interacted with the link it might give your social media usernames and passwords to the person behind the link. And worse, your bank account details might also be shared without even you knowing. The desktop users might be able to identify and safeguard themselves from these kinds of mails and websites as there might be possible signs of a fake link visible near the URL. But for the people who interact with the mails on their phones, it might be hard to identify such links and they might be in trouble once it opens up. So, to stop being phished the users should open these if necessary, but on desktops only. Google has also asked users to report such links, URLs and mails so that it can remove them from Google Translate.

OnePlus 6T gets CarbonROM, LineageOS 16, and more custom ROMs after device seeding program re-opened

OnePlus devices have become the de-facto option since the Nexus program closed down. You can unlock the bootloader and also, retain warranty after bootloader unlocking and can have access to the kernel sources of the smartphone from time to time. At the same time, OnePlus runs a device seeding program in order to kickstart custom development works on the OnePlus 6T. This gives users many options in case they want to customise the software on their smartphones. The seeding programme is very crucial as it helps to create a healthy development community. This can be exemplified on the basis of the OnePlus 2, OnePlus 3/3T, OnePlus 5/5T and the OnePlus 6. Recently, OnePlus closed down the device seeding program which meant that it would not send devices to prominent developers. OnePlus said, however, that the decision was not permanent as they were looking to make changes to the selection criterion and communications channels for improving the program. And yes, now the program was re-opened, though with smaller selection of developers.
The OnePlus 6T device has received unofficial LineageOS 16.0, unofficial CarbonROM cr-7.0, unofficial CypherOS 7.0 and official crDroid updates. The devices are based on Android Pie, and henceforth you get the latest OS from Google. To recall, the OnePlus 6T comes with a 6.41-inch 1,080×2,340 display and is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 6. The device runs on Android Pie and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 SoC. There are two RAM variants—6GB and 8GB. The former brings 128GB internal storage while the latter has two storage options in the form 128GB and 256GB. There is a dual rear camera setup on it that comprises of a 16MP and a 20MP sensors. On the other side, there is a 16MP sensor for the front camera that is meant for clicking selfies and video chat. Connectivity options include WiFi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC and USB 2.0. The OnePlus 6T houses a 3,700mAh battery and comes in multiple colour options. This includes thunder purple, mirror black and midnight black. This is when you can buy the Limited Edition of the Samsung Galaxy S10+ with 12GB RAM

There are less than two weeks remaining for the launch of Samsung Galaxy S10 smartphones. And various reports that have surfaced online have given us a fair idea about what to expect from Samsung’s Unpacked event. From what we know so far, Samsung will be launching its flagship smartphones, a new smartwatch and probably a new pair of earbuds at its event that is scheduled for February 20 in San Francisco. Speaking about the Samsung Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10E smartphones, although a number of reports have revealed what we can expect in terms of the features, design and even pricing, what we didn’t know so far was the date of availability of the devices. But now, thanks to Samsung Philippines, we know about the date of availability of one of Samsung Galaxy S10 models. According to Samsung Philippines’ pre-order page, the Limited Edition of Samsung Galaxy S10+ will be available starting March 15, 2019. Although it is being speculated that the Limited Edition Samsung Galaxy S10+ will be available in other markets at a different date, we don’t really think there will be too much of a difference because Samsung usually makes its smartphones available in different parts of the world around the same time.
The Limited Edition of Samsung Galaxy S10+ will come with a ceramic back panel and house 1TB of internal storage coupled with 12GB of RAM. The South Korean technology giant also announced that it is working on 1TB UFS chips that can be used in smartphones, and speculations are pointing towards the possibility of this chip being used in the Limited Edition model. It is also worth noticing that the only other smartphone yet that comes with 12GB of RAM is Lenovo Z5 Pro GT, but it has not been made available outside China yet. So, it seems likely that the Limited Edition of Samsung Galaxy S10 will be the first smartphone to be launched globally with such a massive RAM.

The renders that have been shared by Samsung show the outlines of four smartphones. While Option A and B are speculated to be Samsung Galaxy S10+ models, Option C and D are said to be Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10E respectively. All of the four models will be powered by either Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 or Exynos 9820 processor. They will come with reverse wireless charging and run Android Pie-based One UI.

The ‘affordable’ iPhone XR just became more affordable with an unofficial price cut

Have you been saving to buy one among the new iPhones? If the answer to that is yes, then we have some good news for you. The ‘affordable’ iPhone of the year – iPhone XR – is now available at a discounted price in India via offline stores. While there is no word from Apple on the price drop, Mumbai-based Mahesh Telecom announced via a tweet that the iPhone XR can now be picked up at a starting price of Rs 70,500. The other two variants with higher storage – 128GB storage 256GB storage models – are now priced at Rs 75,500 and Rs 85,900 respectively. Since there is no word from Apple on the price drop, it’s not clear whether the discount is exclusive to Mahesh Telecom or it is available at other channels too. Some reports have speculated that the discount is offline-only, implying that can be availed at retailers other than Mahesh Telecom too. We should mention that the price on Flipkart remains unchanged for all the iPhone models.
In spite of the price drop, the iPhone XR (review) has a premium price tag. But then, if you are an Apple loyalist, this is surely a good time to upgrade to the latest device by Apple. Although iPhone XR is the more ‘affordable’ version in this year’s iPhone lineup, it has a number of features that are the same as the other two high-end models. To recall, iPhone XR was launched in India at a starting price of Rs 76,900 and the cost of the most high-end variant is Rs 91,900. The smartphone was touted by Apple as the ‘affordable’ iPhone of the year, however, we should add here that the iPhone XR is only relatively more affordable than iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. If you compare the smartphone’s pricing to its competition, it will still be considered expensive by some. But then, we should also point out that the iPhone XR was the best-selling smartphone by Apple in November 2018, which means that Apple loyalists prefer upgrading to the latest lineup with the affordable model. It is worth noticing that in India, the price of the latest iPhones is more expensive than most other countries across the globe, mainly because of the import duty that is levied on gadgets that are not manufactured locally. Apple CEO Tim Cook was quoted saying earlier that the company will adjust the pricing of iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR in countries where the devices are exorbitantly priced. So, the discount at Mahesh Telecom may just be a beginning for all we know. It is a problem to boot Android Oreo on smartphones with low-end hardware as it hampers the smartphone’s UI performance. So, Nokia came up with the idea of making the update optional for Nokia 2 users. The consumers who are there in the Android Nougat programme can choose either to stay in the same programme or receive the Android Oreo update. In case you want a better UI performance, then Android Oreo is not your choice. Android Nougat without a doubt provides better and faster user experience compared to its successor. However, it is unclear whether or not this update is going to be rolled out in a phased-out manner. However, one crucial information we have is that unlike other HMD Global phones, this one is not going to be a part of the Android Go programme.
We are yet to see when will this update be rolled out, but considering HMD Global, we can expect it to happen very soon in the coming weeks. To recall, the Nokia 2 was launched back in October, 2017. The smartphone sports an IPS LCD 5.0-inch 720×1,280 display with a 16:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 212 SoC. The device has a 1GB RAM coupled with 8GB onboard storage. The front camera on the other hand, consists of a 5MP sensor meant for selfies. Connectivity options include WiFi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, FM Radio and microUSB 2.0.
