Acer introduced its new lineup of Predator gaming products
Along with the new lineup of Chromebooks, Acer also announced the launch of its new lineup of Predator gaming products, which includes gaming desktops and projectors. The Taiwanese company introduced Predator Orion 7000, Predator GD711 Projector,  Predator GM712 Projector and Predator Gaming Desk. The desktops are powered by 12th Gen Intel Core processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 GPU. Whereas the projectors are compatible with both consoles and PCs.

Predator Orion 7000 gaming desktops

The Acer Predator Orion 7000 (PO7-640) gaming desktops come equipped with the latest 12th Gen Intel Core processors, up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 series GPUs. The device comes with up to 64 GB DDR5-4000 RAM. The chassis includes 5.5-inch Predator FrostBlade 2.0 front fans and a third 4.7-inch Predator FrostBlade 2.0 rear fan which comes with ARGB colours lighting.  The top case features an opening, making it possible for users to replace a 4.7-inch fan with a 9.45-inch fan. The device comes integrated with PredatorSense software that allows gamers to control the ARBG lighting, fan speed and overclocking. For thermal management, there is AIO liquid CPU cooler and advanced airflow management to effectively cool system components.

For storage there is 2.5-inch USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C hot-swap drive bay, 2x M.2 PCIe 4.0 NVIMe SSDs (up to 1 TB each) and two 3.5-inch SATA3 HDDs (up to 3 TB each).  If you look at connectivity, the Predator Orion 7000 gaming desktops come with Intel Killer 2.5G LAN,  WiFi 6E (AX211) and 2×2 MU-MIMO technology. The ports on the desktop include USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type C, and two audio jacks. On the back, there are three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A, one USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type-C, two USB 2.0 ports, and three audio jacks. 

Predator GD711 and Predator GM712 Gaming Projectors

Predator GD711 is a smart 4K LED gaming projector that is compatible with both console and PC gaming systems. The Acer projector also comes with a built-in app that allows users to access a variety of streaming services. It comes with a wide colour gamut that amounts to 125% of the area ratio of Rec. 709. The device offers 4,000 LED lumens of brightness, high dynamic contrast and HDR10 for high-quality images.  It comes with several modes like 4K (3,840 x 2,160) resolution for enjoying movies and videos in sharp detail, while two game modes—one for bright scenes, another for dark ones—let users pick frame settings optimized for the aesthetics of the game they’re playing. In addition to this Acer, Predator projector has a  variable refresh rate mode of 1080p@120 Hz for consoles or up to a blazing fast 1080p@240 Hz for PCs.

The Acer Predator GD711 also has a throw ratio of 1.22, which means it supports a wide range of throw sizes. However, the company recommends a 100-inch screen thrown from just 2.70 m (8.85 ft). The device also includes a 10W speaker and remote control that has an antimicrobial coating on its surface and buttons. The connectivity options on the device include two HDMI 2.0 ports for PCs and consoles, audio out for an extra speaker and three USB Type-A ports: One for the projector’s hidden wireless dongle, another for connecting wireless accessories, and another for DC 5V-out that also enables users to update the device’s firmware. In contrast, the Predator GM712 is a lamp based projector that is available with 4K resolution and 3,600 ANSI lumens of brightness. The company has included new Predator Orion 7000 series desktops in its portfolio.

Predator Gaming Desk

This is a  55-inch Predator gaming desk (PGD110) however it is being offered in two surfaces one coated in easy-to-clean, stylish carbon fibre or another covered with a custom-designed Predator mouse pad. It also includes a rack for storing gamepads and/or cartridges, a headphone hook, a cup holder, and a tray tucked in the back for AC adapters. There is a headset cradle to save desk space, a cup holder to prevent spills, and a cable management cutout on each side.

Pricing and availability

The Predator Orion 7000 (P07-640) has been launched with a starting price of EUR 2,199 and will be viable in North America in the Q2 of 2022 while in EMEA it will be purchased from Q1 of 2022. In China, the price will start at RMB 20,000.  The Predator GD711 Projector (GD711) will be available in EMEA in December starting at EUR 1,499; and in China in November, starting at 11,999. On the other hand, they will be available in EMEA in January 2022 starting at EUR 1,399; and in China in November, starting at 10,999.  Lastly, the Predator Gaming Desk (PGD110) will be available in EMEA in December starting at EUR 229. OnePlus 9RT is an upgraded version of the India specific OnePlus 9R. The phone has a similar primary sensor which comes on the OnePlus 9, Pro and Nord 2. The sensor is an upgrade over the 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 primary sensor on the 9R. Besides this, the newly launched phone is equipped with the more powerful Snapdragon 888 SoC making it stand against other flagship devices available in the market.  Though the phone has been launched in China, the device is likely to arrive in India in a week or two. So if you are planning to buy the OnePlus 9R, you should wait until 9RT is released in India because it will be a better value for money. Last evening OnePlus announced the launch of its two products in the Market. Along with the OnePlus 9RT, the company has also introduced its new true wireless stereo earbuds, the OnePlus Buds Z2. The new TWS earphone comes with ANC means active noise cancellation support. The audio device equips 11mm dynamic drivers instead of 10mm drivers which came on the previous generation of Buds Z.

The OnePlus Buds Z2 has been introduced in China along with the OnePlus 9RT. The price of the device has been set at CYN 499 which is roughly around Rs 5,800. The company is offering a CYN 100 discount on the first day of the sale of TWS which is beginning on October 19. On the other hand, the OnePlus 9RT price starts at CYN 3,299 that translates to Rs 38,600 for the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage options. Whereas the 8GB RAM with 256GB storage variant comes with a price tag of CYN 3,499 which converts to Rs 40,900. The 12GB RAM with 256GB storage option is priced at CYN 3,799 that comes roughly around Rs 44,400. The Chinese company has not yet confirmed whether it will bring both the products to India or not but the speculations and certification websites suggest India launch imminently.

The OnePlus Buds Z2 is the successor of OnePlus Buds Z. The new true wireless stereo earbuds are IPS55 certified for dust and water resistance instead the chagrin case comes with an IPX4 rating. The device is touch-enabled so you can control them by tapping or with a touch.  The OnePlus Bus Z2 is powered by 11mm dynamic drivers and comes with a latency rate of 94 milliseconds with Bluetooth v5.2 connectivity. In addition to this, the device also offers active noise cancellation that is claimed to eliminate environmental noise by up to 40db. Moreover, the TWS earphones also include three microphones for clearer audio quality. Over that there is a transparency mode that can be turned on to hear announcements or while travelling so that the user can hear and be aware of their background sounds. The company claims that the OnePlus Buds Z2 can run for up to 38 hours on a single charge and each earbud is capable of offering 7 hours of playtime. The OnePlus 9RT has been introduced in China, where the phone comes in multiple configurations of 8GB RAM with 128GB storage at CYN 3,299 that translates to Rs 38,600. The 8GB RAM with 256GB storage variant comes with a price tag of CYN 3,499 which converts to Rs 40,900. The 12GB RAM with 256GB storage option is priced at CYN 3,799 that comes roughly around Rs 44,400. The company will be offering CYN 100 discount translating to Rs 1,200 on the first day of the sale. The Taiwanese computer manufacturing giant, Acer, today expanded its Chromebook lineup with the introduction of 6 new laptops Acer Chromebook Spin 514/Enterprise, Acer Chromebook 515/Enterprise 515, Acer Chromebook 514 and Acer Chromebook 314. All the notebooks have been introduced in EMEA and North America. The machines come equipped with the latest 11th Gen Intel Core processors and Wi-Fi 6 for connectivity.

Acer Chromebooks price and availability

The Acer Chromebook Spin 514 (CP514-2H) price in North America will start at USD 699.99 in January 2022, whereas in EMEA in October starting at EUR 799. The Enterprise Edition of the laptop will come with a starting price of USD 899.99 and in EMEA starting at  EUR 1,049. The laptop will be available in December and October respectively. The Acer Chromebook 515 (CB515-1W/T) will be offered in EMEA in October starting at EUR 499. The Enterprise model will be available in North America in January 2022 starting at USD 649.99, and in EMEA in October starting at EUR 799.
