Rendering to a research done by the antivirus firm Avast 21 adware gaming apps on Google’s Play Store. After taking this into account the researcher has reported Google reportedly Google is still investigating and out of the 21 apps 19 are still available on the Play Store. As per the firm, the adware is part of the HiddenAds family that is pretending to be Trojan malware.The Cybersecurity firm Avast says that this adware displays intrusive ads and tempting users into downloading the adware by posing as gaming apps. The apps promise to virtually “let your car fly across the road, trees, hills”, to shoot criminals from a helicopter, or, for household enthusiasts, allow players to virtually iron their clothes. While a mobile apps marketing intelligence and insights company SensorTower estimates that these so far, these masked apps have been downloaded about eight million times.On the other hand, many of the reviews on the Google Play Store indicates that these apps misled users on the Play Store via advertisements on YouTube, promising a different game than what the app ultimately offered. Following the download, advertisements started flooding their phones.Jakub Vávra, Threat Analyst at Avast said, “Developers of adware are increasingly using social media channels as regular marketers would. This time, users reported they were targeted with ads promoting the games on YouTube. In September we saw adware spread via TikTok. The popularity of these social networks makes them an attractive advertising platform, also for cybercriminals, to target a younger audience.” He further added, While Google is doing everything possible to prevent HiddenAds from entering its Play Store, the malicious apps keep finding new ways to disguise their true purpose, thus slipping through to the platform and then to users’ phones. Until now the feature was under beta testing and now a stable version is out for the general public.Facebook-owned chatting app WhatsApp took to Twitter to announce the new ‘Always’ option in chat settings to allow the users to mute a chat forever. Earlier the users were allowed to mute notifications for chats individually for up to 8 hours and 1 week and 1 year. But now the 1 year has been replaced by the Always option in the chat settings whereas the 8 hours and 1-week option remains unchanged. The feature is being rolled out to iOS, Android and WhatsApp web as well.How to enable the Always Mute option on WhatsApp for Android users?The new feature will allow you to mute a chat forever instead of 1 year. If you have an Android device all you need to do is simply open WhatsApp on your smartphone

A new window will appear to set a time duration to keep a chat mute.

To perk up the user experience Google is now rolling out a new feature for users to grant access to files on Drive straight from Gmail. Up till now, an individual has to manage a received request from another user for permission to access a particular file whether it is Docs or Sheet in a separate tab or app. But now the admins do not need to manage the mode of access separately as the company has come up with a new feature by sending a dynamic email so that they do not need to leave Gmail.While announcing the dynamic email feature Google via blog post said “We’re making it easier to manage access requests to Drive files by sendingdynamic emails which allow you to respond to the request without leaving Gmail.”So now you can complete a task without leaving a message. The new feature can be used to RSVP to events, fill out questionnaires, browse catalogs, respond to comments, update emails to display the latest content.According to the tech giant, someone requests access to a Drive file, you’ll receive an email with the access request. Using this feature, you can now manage that request directly from that email, without leaving the message. You will receive a dynamic email that lets you review the request, choose the access level (e.g. edit, comment, or view), and grant access directly from the email. Until now the users were required to open the document in a separate tab or app to be able to access the request. The dynamic email will work both for Gmail users on the web as well as on Android, and on iOS devices. Also, be aware of the ‘from’ address for access request emails is changing with this launch. They will now come from drive-shares-dm-noreply@google.com. According to the company for admins, the feature will be ON by default if the dynamic email is available for your users.

After the recent launch of iPhone 12 series, a teardown video captured by Century Weifeng Technology has revealed that iPhone 12 comes equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X55 modem. This means that what rumour mills had leaked earlier is a reality.
In the teardown video, MyFixGuide reported that Century Weifeng Technology has tried to showcase a comparision between the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 11. While the design seems to be similar, Apple iPhone 12’s carries comparatively thinner OLED display along with a smaller Taptic Engine vibration motor. On the other hand, the battery capacity of iPhone 12 is 2,815mAh. This is 15 percent less than the battery capacity of the iPhone 11. Furthermore, the video showcased that the iPhone 12 carries an internal MagSafe magnetic system.
Earlier, it has also been revealed that the newly-launched MagSafe accessory ecosystem is compatible with on some non-Apple smartphones. According to a report, the MagSafe Charger works with Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 smartphone. In a Twitter post, tipster Max Weinbach shared a picture showcasing that Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 magnetically connects with MagSafe charger and works perfectly fine. Mind you! The newly-launched MagSafe charger could also come out if you shake the device forcefully. However, there is no details on the actual charging speeds that this charger delivers. Through Max Weinbach’s Twitter post, it is presumed that they will stick to 7.5W as only iPhone 12 units are advertised to reach 15W speeds.

In order to allow business travelers enjoy smooth working, Acer has rolled out three new products in its TravelMate series of commercial notebooks for enterprise and business users. This series comprises of:
TravelMate Spin P4 (TMP414RN-51), a convertible notebook with a touch screen
TravelMate P4 (TMP414-51), a powerful and portable notebook for those who prefer traditional clamshell models
TravelMate P2 (TMP214-53), a durable notebook with enough ports and battery life to handle anything that comes up in a day’s work
Asserting that people are adopting working on-the-go, James Lin, General Manager, Notebooks, IT Products Business, Acer Inc, said, “We’ve designed this generation of TravelMate notebooks around that trend. Military-grade durability to survive the bumps and drops of daily life, enough battery life to get through the entire work day and a generous array of ports. These are a line of reliable devices for people that need to get the job done.”
Acer TravelMate notebooks run on 11th Gen Intel Core processors with Iris Xe graphics or up to discrete NVIDIA GeForce MX350 GPUs. Besides this, these gadgets have up to 32 GB DDR4 RAM, 4 lane PCIe SSDs, and 1 TB M.2 SSD storage capacity. Acer claims that users can also expect to get a full day of work out of each device. The Acer TravelMate Spin P4 and TravelMate P4 notebooks’ batteries last up to 15 hours while the TravelMate P2 gets up to 13 hours of battery life.
With a scratch-resistant 14-inch Full HD Corning Gorilla Glass touch display, TravelMate Spin P4 notebook variants can be rotated 360 degrees into laptop, stand, tent, or tablet modes.
Moreover, both TravelMate P4 and TravelMate Spin P4 have been built to comply with MIL-STD-810G standards. These also comprises of a spill-resistant keyboard and shock-absorbent corners. Additionally, upward facing speakers allow for clearer-sounding conference calls, and the TravelMate P4 and TravelMate Spin P4 can be fast charged to up to 80 percent in mere an hour.
As far as portability with 4G LTE connectivity is concerned, the powerful TravelMate Spin P4 is just 1.53 kg (3.37 lbs.) light, the TravelMate P4 weighs in at 1.45 kg (3.2 lbs.) and both are under 18 mm (0.7 in) thin. Acer’s TravelMate P2 with a textured top cover weighs as little as 1.625 kg (3.58 lbs.) and is 20 mm (0.8 in) thin. Mind you! These three variants come with Intel Wi-Fi 6 (Gig+) to provide a smoother wireless experience and have eSIM-enabled 4G LTE connectivity.
All of the new TravelMate models have an Intel® Thunderbolt™ 4 port, enabling lightning-fast data transfer up to 40 Gbs—four times the data and twice the video bandwidth of any other port type. Additionally, all models come with Acer Office Manager for remote management.
As per Acer, the TravelMate P4 and TravelMate Spin P4 comes installed with the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0. It is a powerful anti-tampering chip that checks for signs of intrusion during system boot up. For more secure logins through Windows Hello, the notebooks feature IR cameras and fingerprint readers, while a built-in webcam cover further protects privacy.
As far as pricing and availability, The TravelMate P2 (TMP214-53) will be available in North America in March 2021 at a price point of $799.99. However, the device will be available in EMEA in November for 759 EUR. In China, the device will be available in October at a starting price of RMB 4,999.
On the other hand, the TravelMate P4 (TMP414-51) will be available in North America in December starting at $899.99. It will be available in EMEA region for 899 EUR in November; and in China in October, starting at RMB 5,999.
Furthermore, Acer revealed, “The TravelMate Spin P4 (TMP414RN-51) will be available in North America in December starting at $999.99; in EMEA in November starting at 999 EUR ; and in China in October, starting at RMB 6,999.

If you are a foodie who avoids eating spicy food, there is no more need to worry. A research published in American Chemical Society’s (ACS) Applied Nano Materials journal has revealed about a chili-shaped portable device that can reveal how much capsaicin, the compound that gives chili peppers their kick, a pepper contains before biting into it.
According to the ACS researchers, “Chili peppers are a popular food ingredient around the world. In addition to imparting a spicy flavor, the capsaicin in chili peppers has several health benefits, including anti-oxidative, anti-carcinogenic and anti-inflammatory activities. Therefore, the demand for capsaicin as a food additive and pharmaceutical agent is growing.”
However, some go out of the way avoid the palate-singeing burn of capsaicin. For them, Warakorn Limbut and colleagues wanted to develop a simple, accurate and cheap method to quantify the capsaicin content of chili peppers and food samples. The researchers further stated that alternative mechanism have been created for this purpose are complicated, time-consuming or require expensive, bulky instrumentation.
A chili-shaped portable device have been created by the research team that one can easily connect to a smartphone to display the results of the analysis. The journal further asserted that “The paper-based electrochemical sensor within the device consisted of graphene nanoplatelets doped with nitrogen atoms to improve their electrical conductivity. When the team added a drop of diluted capsaicin to the sensor, the compound underwent oxidation and reduction reactions, producing an electrical current that the device detected.”
Once the sensor was optimized, the researcher team used it to check capsaicin concentrations in six dried chili samples. The team further “added the chilies to an ethanol-containing solution, shook it up and then introduced a drop of the sample. The device accurately measured capsaicin concentrations from 7.5-90 μM in the six samples, and could detect down to 0.37 μM in the diluted samples.”

The Chinese smartphone company Gionee has now come up with its new entry-level smartphone in India. The company has introduced Gionee F8 Neo in the country powered by an octa-core processor. The device packs a 3000mAh battery and features an LCD display with an eye comfort feature. The smartphone has a single-lens camera on the rear as well as on the front. To recall it’s a second smartphone from the company after Gionee Max which made its debut in the county in August this year.

The Gionee F8 Neo price in India has been set at Rs 5,499. The phone will be available in three colour options to choose from Blue, Black and Red. The mobile phone will be available for purchase via authorised retail stores in the country. The smartphone is scheduled to go on sale just ahead of Diwali. The low budget phone will compete against Samsung M01 Core and Techno Spark GO 2020 that are available at Rs 5,293 and Rs 6,499.
Gionee F8 Neo specification and features
Gionee F8 Neo runs Android 10 OS out of the box. The budget-friendly phone will be featuring a 5.4-inch HD+ LCD display with a screen resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels. The device has thick bezels on all sides. Under the hood, there is an unnamed octa-core processor but the Google Play listing suggests UNISOC SC9863A SoC paired with 2GB of Ram and 32GB of storage. The internal storage can be expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card.
The low budget Gionee F8 Neo comes with a single rear camera with a resolution of 8-megapixel with an LED flash. While on the front it has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for clicking selfies and video calling. The phone is backed by a 3,000mAh battery with 10W charging support.
To recall few months back the company launched Gionee Max with similar pricing. It features a 6.1-inch HD+ Dewdrop display with 720×1,560 pixels of resolution and is powered by 1.6-GHz octa-core Unicoc 9863A SoC paired with 2GB of RAM with 32GB of storage option. For optics, it has a 13-megapixel primary sensor paired with a bokeh lens. For taking selfies and video calling the phone sports a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It has a 5,000mAh battery that also supports reverse charging. The battery is claimed to deliver up to 28 days standby time, up to 24 hours of music playback, more than 9 hours of movie time and 42 hours of call time with 12 hours of gaming.

Firstly, those who are wondering what MagSafe Charger is all about? Well, it makes wireless charging a snap. The perfectly aligned magnets attach to your iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro and provide faster wireless charging up to 15W. The camera set up is the biggest USP of this phone, it has a Penta rear camera system. There is a 50-megapixel primary Ultra Vision wide-angle camera with OIS support, a 20-megapixel Cine ultrawide lens and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x Optical Zoom, f/2.4 aperture, and OIS. Further assisted by an 8-megapixel SuperZoom Camera with 10x Optical Zoom, f/4.4 aperture, OIS and lastly a 3D Depth Sensing Camera with AF support. While the dual front camera set up is also similar to the Pro variant. The battery capacity is also similar to the above model.
The company has also introduced Porsche designed Huawei Mate 40 Pro Plus RS alongside the other models. The special edition phone has specifications identical to the regular one only the design is different from the other models

The pricing and availability of the Huawei Mate 40 series will be announced later on. The Mate 40 is available in five different colour variants Mystic Silver, White, black, green and yellow. The Huawei Mate 40 Pro also comes in a similar colour option as the step-down variant while Mate 40 Pro+ is available in two different colour variants Ceramic Black and Ceramic White. Using this feature, you can now manage that request directly from that email, without leaving the message. You will receive a dynamic email that lets you review the request, choose the access level (e.g. edit, comment, or view), and grant access directly from the email.

The dynamic email will work both for Gmail users on the web as well as on Android, and on iOS devices. Also, be aware of the ‘from’ address for access request emails is changing with this launch. According to the company the travel pouch is made from ECCO PALERMO XA Leather. It has a Magnetic clasps pouch connect to the notebook sleeve that has been formed from 1680D fabric which is water repellent as well as scratches and wear-and-tear resistant. Whereas the notebook sleeve’s detachable lid has been designed to double as a mousepad.
On the other hand, the Bluetooth and wireless Porsche Design Acer Mouse RS is made from Carbon fiber that ensures longer lifespans and equips a DPI switch that enables users to quickly switch between three pre-set sensitivity levels.

The Porsche Design Acer Book RS with travel pack and mouse is priced at USD 1,999.99 in North America and in EMEA it will start at EUR 2,399 while in China this will be available at RMB 19,999.
Separately, only the Porsche Design Acer Book RS will be available in North America starting at USD 1,399.99, in EMEA starting at EUR 1,799 and in China at RMB 14,999.
