If you own a Moto Z3 Play smartphone, we have some news that will interest you. Lenovo-owned smartphone maker Motorola has started rolling out the Android Pie update for the device.
We should mention that this update is different from the closed beta of Android Pie that was earlier spotted on the Moto Z3 Play smartphone in June last year. The update that is being rolled out now is a stable Android Pie update for the smartphone and it will be rolling out to all the users.
Motorola has posted about the latest Android Pie update on its support page, where it spoke about that the changes that will be coming to the Moto Z3 Play with it. The changes include new navigation gestures, adaptive battery, adaptive brightness, improvements in Quick Settings, revamped Settings app, virtual screenshot button, enhanced audio controls, updated emojis, changes in UI, options of easily managing notifications, improvements in performance, background app privacy, Wi-Fi optimization, and others.
It is worth noticing that as of now, the update is only rolling out in the United States, however, it is expected to be made available in other countries too.
To recall, Motorola Moto Z3 Play was launched in June 2018 and it sports a 6-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18:9. While 2017 was a great year for Nintendo witch in terms of games, 2018 couldn’t really match up to it. With 2019 in full swing now, all Nintendo Switch owners are hoping for the company to do as well as it did in 2017. And from what it seems, the company is planning to ramp up its performance this year.
Nintendo already has some decent offerings for its owners this year including Yoshi’s Crafted World, Luigi’s Mansion 3, a new game from Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Daemon X Machina, a new Pokemon game, and probably Bayonetta 3 too.
However, if a recent report is to be believed, all these games are not all that Nintendo plans to get for its users this year. In fact, this is just the tip of the ice-berg. The report suggests that Nintendo still has 12 unannounced Switch games that the company will launch this year.
We should mention that this has been reported by Emily Rogers, who is a renowned reporter and Nintendo insider and her previous leaks about the company have been very accurate. It was Rogers who had reported everything about Nintendo’s Switch even before the console was revealed or launched.
The recent report about Nintendo’s 12 unannounced games for Switch surfaced online on ResetEra. The report further said that all these games will be launched by the company this year itself and among them, three games are eShop-only titles, one is Nintendo Labo kit, two are Wii U ports. The remaining six games that the company plans to launch this year are big retail games.
According to the report, among the 12 games, nine have more than 75% of being launched this year and the other three – among which two are bigger retail games and one is Wii u port – have about 50% chance of releasing this year.
The report also said that the latter group is basically the Metroid Prime Trilogy, however, it has not officially been confirmed yet. And another game among the 12 is Retro Studios secret project, which may be the Star Fox Racing.
Even though Rogers has a history of giving out accurate reports about Nintendo, we should suggest that as of now, you must take everything with a pinch of salt as it’s too early to comment on whether this information is true or not, considering that there is no other leak on the internet that is in line with it.
And if you don’t have a Nintendo Switch and think you’ll be missing out on a lot this year, you can order one for yourself here.
With technology reaching new heights after each passing day it has become difficult to have privacy in the digital realm. With big tech companies and social platforms being caught time and again stealing user’s data, spying on their activities and much more. There is always a question of legitimacy. And with new technology being born every day we are reaching a new age of digital transformation. But also, we are getting into an age where digital privacy and digital security has become non-existent.
Each computer software, website or piece of technology is basically computer codes written to perform a certain task be it to run a machine, a website or an app. And like all human created things, it can be altered and can be misused. And today in the age of technology with hackers and cyber-terrorism on the rise, our data is not safe online. The hackers are developing new ways and methods to extract and misuse our precious data. Sure, the prominent tech industries is developing new ways to safeguard our digital journey and are coming up with new and better ways. But it is also true that the hackers are improvising and learning new things to bypass the safeguards kept to protect us.
Spam calls and messages are a thing of past now where they ask the user to open links or malicious websites, which could give your personal details to the hacker. From there they could exploit the data in a way they see fit. Now, the hackers have found a new way of stealing user data and that is through Google’s own Google Translate.
Google which stands above everything tech is being used to phish into the accounts of the users to steal data, a report on ZDNet read. Google translate is a translation app/program built by Google to help people understand another language. It translates the content, webpage to user’s choice of language. And hackers have found a loophole in this program, which allows them access to a user’s account when they interact with it.
According to the report, hackers are using Google Translate to send malicious mails of a fake website URL (uniform resource locator) to the users. When the user interacts with the phishing mail, he is redirected to the fake URL with Google Translate icon on it. It appears like a regular website, but it is definitely not. Once interacted with the link it might give your social media usernames and passwords to the person behind the link. And worse, your bank account details might also be shared without even you knowing.
The desktop users might be able to identify and safeguard themselves from these kinds of mails and websites as there might be possible signs of a fake link visible near the URL. But for the people who interact with the mails on their phones, it might be hard to identify such links and they might be in trouble once it opens up. So, to stop being phished the users should open these if necessary, but on desktops only.
Google has also asked users to report such links, URLs and mails so that it can remove them from Google Translate.
The Google Pixel 4 smartphone just might have an enhanced dual-SIM support. Its predecessor, the Google Pixel 3 also comes with dual-SIM support, however, this feature is not proper in the smartphone. The Google Pixel 3 comes with a regular nanoSIM and eSIM support. Even though this device provides dual-SIM support, both of them can’t be used together. Most Android smartphones come with Dual-SIM, Dual Active (DSDA) support which means that users can manually choose which SIM they want to use for calls and data consumption.
On the same line, it is being said that the Google Pixel 4 will come with DSDA functionality. According to reports, there is an Android Open Source Project (AOSP) Gerrit system that shows that the next flagship will have built-in dual-SIM functionality. We have come to know about a patent filing by Google that revealed some information about the next-generation Pixel-branded smartphone. Chances are that this device is the Google Pixel 4.
Google Pixel 4 specifications (expected):
There are speculations which say that the Google Pixel 4 is going to sport a fingerprint scanner, two-tone back and a single rear camera just like the Google Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3XL. To recall, the Google Pixel 3 comes with a 5.5-inch 1,080×2,160 display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 SoC.
There is a single RAM variant of 4GB that brings 64GB and 128GB onboard storage. There is a single rear camera setup that comprises of a 12.2MP sensor. On the other hand, the dual front camera has two 8MP sensors.
The Google Pixel 3 packs a non-removable battery of 2,195mAh. Connectivity options include WiFi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC and USB 3.1. The smartphone comes in multiple colour options that includes clearly white, just black and not pink. Measurement of the smartphone includes 145.2×68.2×7.9mm and it weighs 148 grams.

It is also being speculated that the South Korean technology giant will launch its new Galaxy Buds truly wireless earphones and the Galaxy Watch Active smartwatch at the same event.

The flagship smartphones from Samsung will sport an Infinity-O display to house the selfie camera. While Samsung Galaxy S10E will come with a flat screen, the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ will feature curved displays. We should mention that Samsung Galaxy S10+’s hole-punch selfie camera will be wider than the one on the other two smartphones, as the handset will come with a dual selfie camera setup.
In addition to this, Samsung Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ are reported to sport a triple rear camera setup and an in-display fingerprint scanner. Samsung Galaxy S10E, on the other hand, will have its fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button. OnePlus devices have become the de-facto option since the Nexus program closed down. You can unlock the bootloader and also, retain warranty after bootloader unlocking and can have access to the kernel sources of the smartphone from time to time. At the same time, OnePlus runs a device seeding program in order to kickstart custom development works on the OnePlus 6T. This gives users many options in case they want to customise the software on their smartphones. The seeding programme is very crucial as it helps to create a healthy development community.
This can be exemplified on the basis of the OnePlus 2, OnePlus 3/3T, OnePlus 5/5T and the OnePlus 6. Recently, OnePlus closed down the device seeding program which meant that it would not send devices to prominent developers. OnePlus said, however, that the decision was not permanent as they were looking to make changes to the selection criterion and communications channels for improving the program. And yes, now the program was re-opened, though with smaller selection of developers.
The OnePlus 6T device has received unofficial LineageOS 16.0, unofficial CarbonROM cr-7.0, unofficial CypherOS 7.0 and official crDroid updates. The devices are based on Android Pie, and henceforth you get the latest OS from Google. To recall, the OnePlus 6T comes with a 6.41-inch 1,080×2,340 display and is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 6. The device runs on Android Pie and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 SoC.
There are two RAM variants—6GB and 8GB. The former brings 128GB internal storage while the latter has two storage options in the form 128GB and 256GB. There is a dual rear camera setup on it that comprises of a 16MP and a 20MP sensors. On the other side, there is a 16MP sensor for the front camera that is meant for clicking selfies and video chat. Connectivity options include WiFi 802.11, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC and USB 2.0. The OnePlus 6T houses a 3,700mAh battery and comes in multiple colour options. This includes thunder purple, mirror black and midnight black.

There are less than two weeks remaining for the launch of Samsung Galaxy S10 smartphones. And various reports that have surfaced online have given us a fair idea about what to expect from Samsung’s Unpacked event. From what we know so far, Samsung will be launching its flagship smartphones, a new smartwatch and probably a new pair of earbuds at its event that is scheduled for February 20 in San Francisco.
Speaking about the Samsung Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10E smartphones, although a number of reports have revealed what we can expect in terms of the features, design and even pricing, what we didn’t know so far was the date of availability of the devices. But now, thanks to Samsung Philippines, we know about the date of availability of one of Samsung Galaxy S10 models.
According to Samsung Philippines’ pre-order page, the Limited Edition of Samsung Galaxy S10+ will be available starting March 15, 2019. Although it is being speculated that the Limited Edition Samsung Galaxy S10+ will be available in other markets at a different date, we don’t really think there will be too much of a difference because Samsung usually makes its smartphones available in different parts of the world around the same time.
The Limited Edition of Samsung Galaxy S10+ will come with a ceramic back panel and house 1TB of internal storage coupled with 12GB of RAM. The South Korean technology giant also announced that it is working on 1TB UFS chips that can be used in smartphones, and speculations are pointing towards the possibility of this chip being used in the Limited Edition model.
It is also worth noticing that the only other smartphone yet that comes with 12GB of RAM is Lenovo Z5 Pro GT, but it has not been made available outside China yet. So, it seems likely that the Limited Edition of Samsung Galaxy S10 will be the first smartphone to be launched globally with such a massive RAM.

The renders that have been shared by Samsung show the outlines of four smartphones. While Option A and B are speculated to be Samsung Galaxy S10+ models, Option C and D are said to be Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10E respectively. All of the four models will be powered by either Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 or Exynos 9820 processor. They will come with reverse wireless charging and run Android Pie-based One UI.
Have you been saving to buy one among the new iPhones? If the answer to that is yes, then we have some good news for you. The ‘affordable’ iPhone of the year – iPhone XR – is now available at a discounted price in India via offline stores.
While there is no word from Apple on the price drop, Mumbai-based Mahesh Telecom announced via a tweet that the iPhone XR can now be picked up at a starting price of Rs 70,500. The other two variants with higher storage – 128GB storage 256GB storage models – are now priced at Rs 75,500 and Rs 85,900 respectively.
Since there is no word from Apple on the price drop, it’s not clear whether the discount is exclusive to Mahesh Telecom or it is available at other channels too. Some reports have speculated that the discount is offline-only, implying that can be availed at retailers other than Mahesh Telecom too. We should mention that the price on Flipkart remains unchanged for all the iPhone models.
In spite of the price drop, the iPhone XR (review) has a premium price tag. But then, if you are an Apple loyalist, this is surely a good time to upgrade to the latest device by Apple. Although iPhone XR is the more ‘affordable’ version in this year’s iPhone lineup, it has a number of features that are the same as the other two high-end models.
To recall, iPhone XR was launched in India at a starting price of Rs 76,900 and the cost of the most high-end variant is Rs 91,900. The smartphone was touted by Apple as the ‘affordable’ iPhone of the year, however, we should add here that the iPhone XR is only relatively more affordable than iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. If you compare the smartphone’s pricing to its competition, it will still be considered expensive by some.
But then, we should also point out that the iPhone XR was the best-selling smartphone by Apple in November 2018, which means that Apple loyalists prefer upgrading to the latest lineup with the affordable model.
It is worth noticing that in India, the price of the latest iPhones is more expensive than most other countries across the globe, mainly because of the import duty that is levied on gadgets that are not manufactured locally. Apple CEO Tim Cook was quoted saying earlier that the company will adjust the pricing of iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR in countries where the devices are exorbitantly priced. So, the discount at Mahesh Telecom may just be a beginning for all we know.

So, Nokia came up with the idea of making the update optional for Nokia 2 users. The consumers who are there in the Android Nougat programme can choose either to stay in the same programme or receive the Android Oreo update. In case you want a better UI performance, then Android Oreo is not your choice. Android Nougat without a doubt provides better and faster user experience compared to its successor. Nokia 2 is receiving the Android Oreo update very soon, company has announced.
Just like other phones HMD Global has given you the option to either stay in Android Nougat platform or get updated to Android Oreo. However, it is unclear whether or not this update is going to be rolled out in a phased-out manner. However, one crucial information we have is that unlike other HMD Global phones, this one is not going to be a part of the Android Go programme.

Smartphones are a necessity today and no matter what the age or occupation of a person is, it has become a part of their daily lifestyle. The mobile has become a tool of human evolution, in a way. There are more than 7 billion people on the planet and almost everyone yearns to own one smartphone. So, we stop and ask if it’s alright for humans to depend so much on technology that it has become our second nature to use it. And depending on something too much has its own fair share of problems and smartphones are no exception. They emit a lot of radiation, which can be harmful for human health.
Currently there is no universal guidelines for safe SAR levels, but the German Certification for Environmental Friendliness ‘Der Blaue Engel’ (Blue Angel) certifies phones of less than 0.60 watts per kilogram absorption level. There is no model for standard SAR levels allowed in phones in India, so it follows US model which allows phones at or under 1.6 watts per kilogram.
Earlier we did a feature on the top 16 phones with the most radiation levels and Xiaomi Mi A1 came on top followed by OnePlus 5T and then Xiaomi Mi Max 3. All their SAR levels were beyond what is considered normal in India. These are phones which were popular and also sold well in the country. All the top 5 phones with the most SAR radiation radiated more than 1.6 and most of the phones were bestsellers from prominent brands. It only shows that they are not serious about their customer’s health and are cutting corners.
Statista has also released a list of phones which emit the least amount of radiation. And that list does have name of phones from prominent phone manufacturers as well. Here’s the list of phones emitting the least amount of radiation:
Today, a concept video of the Motorola Moto RAZR has been publicised online. The video clip shows the opening and closing of the Moto RAZR. Also, there are several colours schemes the author of this video has come up with. There are few UI solution shown too. Plus, there is a solution suggested like the notifications handling on the outer screen. In the video, we also see that the screen of the smartphone can be folded with almost no radius. It is expected that the Motorola Moto RAZR will have a small gap between two folded halves. There is no certainty if the phone will launch in 2019 or not.
If the phone does launch this in 2019, and so, might be called Motorola Moto RAZR 2019. The smartphone is expected to come at a price of $1,500, that is roughly Rs 1,04,500. To recall, there was a patent filing of this device a month back. The smartphone will sport a foldable OLED display embedded in it. From that patent, we also got to know that the smartphone has two cameras and a secondary, smaller display like the original Motorola RAZR V3. According to reports, the smartphone is going to launch on Verizon first in a limited quantity.
Looking back a few days ago, some more image renders were showcased. The art shows that the smartphone is nicely functional and has an awesome looking design. To recall, the Motorola RAZR V3 is a very old phone that was first launched back in 2004. It comes with a 2.2-inch 176×220 display and comes with a very small battery of 680mAh. The mobile phone came in two colour options—silver and black. Messaging options include SMS, EMS, MMS Email and instant messaging. Motorola then also launched a candybar styled RAZR which was super slim.
If this phone comes to life soon, we are sure there will be many loyalists who would want to get their hands on it.

Opera has announced that it is working on a free VPN that will come in-built in its Android browser. The company further said that with the feature, it will be harder for websites or ISPs to track users’ internet usage. It also added that the free VPN feature will not collect information that travels through it.
Opera’s new feature has already started rolling out in the beta version of its app and the company said that it plans to test it “for some time.” We should mention that this isn’t the first time that Opera has brought a VPN service to the Android platform. However, last time, the service came in the form of a standalone app, which was made available for Android as well as iOS.
But in April last year, the VPN app by Opera was discontinued on both the mobile platforms. In case you missed the service, Opera’s announcement should make you happy. What’s even better this time is that you don’t need another app in your smartphone to get the service. If you use the Opera browser, you will have access to the VPN by default. And it is worth pointing out that this feature may lead to increased adoption of the Opera browser, while the standalone app did not guarantee this.
Opera’s beta app offers a couple of different option in which you can use the VPN service. For starters, you can select manually which continents you wish your virtual location to be in, although the default option for this is ‘Optimal’. Furthermore, you can also choose when exactly you want to VPN feature to apply.
Users also have the option of choosing VPN to be used only for web-pages that have been opened in private tabs, and they can disable it when they access to search engines for more relevant results that can only show up if they are able to track your location.
The VPN feature is rolling out in the beta version of the Android app in a phased manner. So don’t be surprised if your friends get it before you do. However, we should mention that Opera has said that users’ internet speed may be affected by routing your traffic through the service. And as of now, there is no word on whether the VPN feature will also be made available on Opera’s iOS browser.

We are waiting for the Google Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 XL Lite to be launched. The two devices are said to offer flagship features at a relatively affordable price. While some reports have suggested that Google will be taking wraps off the two affordable smartphones at its I/O 2019 conference, others are not very specific and have only said that the devices will be launched in the middle of 2019.
While fans have been waiting for Pixel 3 XL and Pixel 3 XL Lite, a new smartphone by Google has surfaced online on Geekbench. And, the smartphone holds the name Google Pixel 4 on it.
Yes, that’s correct. While we were trying to figure out what exactly Pixel 3 XL and Pixel 3 XL Lite will be like via various leaks and reports, Google Pixel 4 got spotted online by Nashville Chatter. We should also mention that Google Pixel 4 smartphone also carries the codename Sargo, which was earlier also used for Pixel 3 Lite devices. And we all know that Google always opts for fish names when it comes keeping codenames for its smartphones.
While we still don’t know about the processor of the smartphone or its camera specifications, we have learnt of some information via the leak that may surprise some. To begin with, Google Pixel 4 smartphone, according to the listing, will sport 2GB of RAM and run on the upcoming Android 10.
Since the device has shown up on Geekbench, we should mention its scores too. It scored a 744 in the single core score and managed a 3201 in the multi-core score. If we go by these, we can’t really be sure if a powerful chipset from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 series has been used.

Having said that, we should point out that the chances of this leaked information can be false, and the smartphone that has shown up may just be a prototype.
Another possibility is that this smartphone is actually Google Pixel 3 Lite or Pixel 3a – basically a cheaper Pixel device. Two things point towards this possibility. Firstly, other leaks related to Pixel 3 Lite also carried the codename ‘Sargo’. And secondly, specifications like 2GB RAM and the aforementioned Geekbench score, cannot really belong to a flagship smartphone.
With these two things in mind, we can assume that this is an affordable smartphone by Google. However, even is the device is a mid-ranger, 2GB RAM is not exactly reasonable. If the leak is correct, we suspect Google would be banking on its software optimization to offer a smooth experience to its users.
The possibility of the smartphone being a prototype unit cannot also be ruled out, as it may just be a smartphone to demonstrate the Android 10 experience before the Android update is released for the public.

Sony added the A6400 mirrorless camera to its arsenal in India. This cam falls in the APS-C mirrorless camera lineup in the country. People can purchase the camera from today onwards from Sony Centre outlets, and other major electronic stores. According to Sony, A6400 has the fastest autofocus acquisition speed of 0.02 seconds along with real-time Eye AF and tracking.
The price of Sony A6400 is Rs 75,990 for the body, throw a 16-55mm lens and the price becomes Rs 85,990. With an 18-135mm lens the price shoots up to Rs 1,09,990. Its design is somewhat similar to Sony A5100 but that’s about it as it packs much better specifications with a hybrid autofocus like the type used in Sony’s flagship camera the A7R III. Which also uses 425 points phase detection.
The real-time Eye AF it has does what it says, it uses AI to identify if there is a person whose picture is being taken and focuses on the person’s eyes. Then it adjusts the speed and accuracy of the picture. It works on animals as well so this camera becomes a great choice for wildlife enthusiasts.
The camera has a 24.2MP Exmor CMOS image sensor and Bionz X image processor for taking photos. The processor gives the camera an ability to shoot up to 11 fps with mechanical shutter, but when the camera is put in the silent shooting mode it goes even further to give 8 fps. Now that is impressive. But with the silent shooting the continuous AE and AF must be turned on.
The ISO range of Sony A6400 ranges from 100 to 32,000. This means it can handle low-light shooting extremely well. It can also record 4K videos without pixelating and has a 180-degree viewfinder tilt function that proves useful in many situations. The camera also comes with connectivity options like built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC. So photos and videos can be imported or exported to and from online sources or an external device.
The camera, however, misses out on in body image stabilization department. It has an NP-FW50 battery with USB port for charging the battery. It also comes with a USH-1 card slot for storing the captured images. It also has a low-resolution viewfinder, which maxes at 2.4 million dot XGA OLED.
We feel, the camera would be loved by the wildlife photographers because of its Eye AF for capturing the real wild, the high ISO range for the low light situations and the ability to capture and record in extreme low fps for those fast-moving animals, creatures or objects.

As the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S10 smartphones draws near, renders, reports and information about the handsets has increasingly been circulating on the internet. The company is set to launch three variants of the smartphone this year – Samsung Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10E.
The series is all set to launch this month on February and now, a new render leak has surfaced online that shows the Galaxy S10E’s Canary Yellow colour option. We should mention that this is the first time that we have got a glimpse of what the Canary Yellow colour variant of Samsung Galaxy S10 will look like.
The renders have been leaked by tipster Ishan Agarwal in collaboration with MySmartPrice on Twitter. In the image that has been shared, we can see a smartphone with a metallic frame that sports the Infinity-O display.
EXCLUSIVE! First look at Samsung Galaxy S10e Canary Yellow colour and S10 Series dimensions!
The glossy back panel of the Samsung Galaxy S10E smartphone is shown to be of Canary Yellow colour and they house the dual rear camera setup of the smartphone. We should mention that the cameras on the back panel of the smartphone are stacked horizontally and Samsung’s logo sits right in the centre.
Since this is the Samsung Galaxy S10E, it does not come with an in-display fingerprint scanner and has a physical fingerprint sensor instead. In the renders, the fingerprint sensor of the smartphone can be seen on its right edge and the volume rocker and a dedicated Bixby button can be seen on the left edge of the device.
Agarwal has also shared an image that has all the colour variant of the smartphone, besides the Ceramic ones. He has also said that the Blue colour option will be made available later than other colour variants.
That’s not all. The tipster also spoke about the dimensions of all the three smartphone variants that are set to be launched by Samsung.
Samsung Galaxy S10E, which is the smallest among the lot, is said to come with 5.8-inch display and will measure 142.5×70.5×8.1mm. Samsung Galaxy S10 has been leaked to come with a 6.1-inch display and its dimensions will be 149.9×71.6×8.1mm. The most premium of all, Samsung Galaxy S10+, is said to have a 6.4-inch display and will measure 157.0×75.3×8.1mm. So, while the screen sizes of all the three smartphones are different, the company has tried to keep them all thin. The reason why Samsung Galaxy S10+ is relatively thicker than the others is that it reportedly houses a larger 4,000mAh battery.
Samsung is all set to launch the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10E smartphones at an event in San Francisco that has been scheduled for February 20. The technology giant has also hinted that it may launch the foldable phone at the event too.
