Twitter brings new functionality to allow users to limit replies on their tweets
At the moment the company has planned to roll out this feature to a limited number of users globally to iOS, Android and twitter.com as it is under development. However, there is no word from the company when it will be available for wider rollout but we think it will soon be released for all the users. Earlier this year Twitter mentioned in a tweet that it is currently working on this feature for giving more control to the users over their conversations. The tweet reads, “We want to help people feel safe participating in the conversation on Twitter by giving them more control over the conversations they start. We’ll be experimenting with different options for who can reply to Tweets in early 2020.”Testing, testing…

Currency Twitter only gives you an option to keep your profile private in order to limit replies from those who are not following the users or they can hide the replies. With the rollout of the new permission setting the company will be able to make conversations on its platform more personal and meaningful. Twitter’s Director of Product Suzanne Xie in its blog said. “Tweets with the latter two settings will be labeled and the reply icon will be grayed out so that it’s clear for people if they can’t reply. People who can’t reply will still be able to view, Retweet, Retweet with Comment, and like these Tweets,” For the latest gadget and tech news, and gadget reviews, follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Google Chrome brings new privacy and third-party cookie controls
- Now you can manage cookies by choosing if and how are used by websites you visit. You also get the choice to block third-party cookies in regular or Incognito mode and to block all cookies on some or all websites.
- The company has now reorganised the controls into two distinct sections to allow the users to search for most sensitive website permissions such as access to location, camera or microphone, and notifications.
- Earlier at the top of Chrome settings, there was “People” to help you find sync controls. In place of that, you will now see “You and Google” allowing you to take charge of what data is shared with Google to store in your Google Account and made available across all your devices.
- With the new update “Clear browsing data” has been repositioned to the top of the Privacy & Security section.
New safety tools
The new Google Chrome update brings in new tools that will advise you if the passwords you’ve asked Chrome to remember have been compromised, and if so, how to fix them. Now the users will be warned by Google’s technology before you visit any dangerous site or download a harmful app or extension if Safe Browsing is turned off. Now you will be altered and will be advised how to remove if any malicious extensions are installed.
Third-party cookie controls in Incognito mode
The users browsing history and information entered in forms or browser cookies are not saved in Incognito mode. Chrome will now allow users to block third-party cookies in the incognito mode. Also, they can also allow third-party cookies for specific sites by clicking the “eye” icon in the address bar.Pin extensions to the toolbar
Now the users will see a new puzzle icon on the top right corner of your extensions on your toolbar allowing you more control over data extensions you can access on sites you visit. You can now pin your favourite extensions to the toolbar.Upgraded security
With the new update, Chrome is getting two major security upgrades Enhanced Safe Browsing and Secure DNS. For protection from phishing, malware and other web-based threats you can turn on Enhanced Safe Browsing. When it is turned on Chrome can check whether pages and downloads are dangerous by sending information about them to Google Safe Browsing. Whereas with the Secure DNS your security and privacy while browsing the web will be improved. According to the company, while you are accessing a website, your browser first needs to determine which server is hosting it, using a step known as a “DNS (Domain Name System) lookup.” Chrome’s Secure DNS feature uses DNS-over-HTTPS to encrypt this step, thereby helping prevent attackers from observing what sites you visit or sending you to phishing websites. By default, Chrome will automatically upgrade you to DNS-over-HTTPS if your current service provider supports it. You can also configure a different secure DNS provider in the Advanced security section, or disable the feature altogether. Revamped Interface Design
The company has also aimed its attention at giving a new look to its UI design and nuanced system animations. With the use of Mi Render Engine, you will get a smoother UI experience. It brings refreshed design that is inspired by nature from the opening and closing of apps to the smooth switching between apps. The company says that with the nuanced system animations, MIUI 12 introduces a lifelike OS experience where every detail becomes tangibly real.
The MIUI 12 brings in “Super Wallpaper” that represents iconic planetary landforms based on NASA’s official imagery. This has been spread out to Always-on display, Home screen, and Lock screen.
Other features and improvements
With the release of MIUI 12 multitasking will become manageable. Now a global floating window has been introduced that allows the users to navigate the system using full-screen gestures, floating windows can facilitate multitasking and save the trouble of constantly switching between apps. The floating windows can be moved, closed and resized by simple gestures applied to the action bar. For instance, when a video is playing the users will now be able to read a received text and can also respond to it without having to pause a video.
MIUI 12 also draws enhanced screen casting functionality allowing the users to cast documents, apps, videos, and games with a single tap. According to the company, the windows that are being cast can be minimized at any time. The option to cast items with the screen off decreases power consumption and hiding private items doesn’t allow floating notifications and incoming calls to appear on external monitors.
In addition to this MIUI 12 supports an Ultra battery saver mode, Dark mode, App drawers and more. The company plans to begin its first phase of the rollout from June to Mi 9, Mi 9T, Mi 9T Pro, Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro.
