YouTube handles introduced: Key details inside
Google today announced that YouTube has given account holders distinctive handles that will now show up on channel pages as well as Shorts. By using their usernames, users can now quickly recognise creators. The users on the online video streaming platform will be able to tag creators in the comments or community posts and other interactive areas like video descriptions.
While announcing the YouTube handles it said, “For many creators, YouTube isn’t just a place to upload and comment on videos, it’s a community and home base. That’s why today we’re introducing handles, a new way for people to easily find and engage with creators and each other on YouTube. Every channel will have a unique handle, making it easier for fans to discover content and interact with creators they love.”
Channel pages and Shorts will display handles, making them easily and consistently recognisable. Soon, mentioning one another in comments, community postings, video descriptions, and other places will be easier and quicker. A shout-out in a comment or tagging in the name of recent collaboration, for instance, can help creators gain more exposure and reach out to new audiences. Channel names and handles are both ways to recognise a YouTube channel, but handles are truly unique to each channel, allowing artists to further build their own presence and identity on the platform.
YouTube will let creators know when they can select a handle for their channel over the course of the following month. Most of the time, if a channel already has a customised URL, that will become their default handle by default. However, they can choose to alter their channel’s handle as soon as they receive the notification in YouTube Studio. We’re introducing handles gradually since each YouTube channel will have one, and handles must be distinctive. The number of subscribers a channel has, its overall YouTube presence, and whether it is active or not all affect when a creator will have access to the handles selection process.
To make it simple for creators to point viewers to their content when they aren’t on YouTube, YouTube will establish a corresponding URL (ex: youtube.com/@handle) when they choose their handle. If a channel already has a customised URL, there is no need to adjust links because they will be automatically forwarded to the new, handle-based URL to give creators on YouTube a stronger, more cohesive presence.

Google Pixel Fold likely to launch in Q1 of 2023
Prior to the release of Google’s rumoured Pixel-branded foldable phone, the launch timeline for the Google Pixel Fold has been leaked online. The unveiling of Google’s foldable smartphone is reportedly being delayed. The first Pixel foldable phone might be released in the first quarter of 2023. It was earlier expected to be premiered at the Made by Google launch event.
The first Pixel foldable phone is likely to be released in the first quarter of 2023, according to Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC).
Young said that Google’s first foldable phone could appear anytime in Q1 2023 in response to a tweet from tipster Roland Quandt (@rquandt) asking about the Pixel folding phone. Additionally, according to him, the company will begin receiving panel shipments for this handset in January.
According to earlier claims, Google may be developing two foldable smartphones. A developer has discovered a reference to a foldable phone with the codename “Felix” in a line of code from the Android 13 QPR1 beta from Google.
Many other reports in the past suggested that the Google Foldable phones may resemble the Oppo Find N. Two additional animations that demonstrated how to insert a SIM card into a foldable phone were discovered following the release of Android 12L Beta 2. They mirror the animations that the current Pixel setup procedures use when the phone requests a physical or virtual SIM card. More significantly, the “Pipit” codename for the Pixel Fold is mentioned in the animation. The right side of the device has a volume button, while the bottom has a SIM tray.
Furthermore, the forthcoming device is probably going to have broad bezels around the screen, making it look like a notebook. The selfie camera is situated on the foldable phone’s top bezel. Furthermore, the smartphone’s appearance when folded is not described in the patent.
A while back, the Google Pixel Fold/foldable smartphone was originally spotted on Geekbench using the user name Pipit. The device would contain an octa-core processor with four 1.8GHz performance cores, two 2.8GHz performance cores, and two 2.25GHz performance cores, according to the listing. According to the benchmarks listing, the foldable phone will have 12GB of RAM, and the processor is supposedly a Google Tensor SoC.

Twitter asking users to share tweet instead of screenshotting it
Twitter is requesting users to give it some credit by providing links to the tweet though rather than screenshotting to distribute them elsewhere. The microblogging platform appears to be recognising screenshots made using the app and prompting users to copy a link to the tweet or use the share menu to send it to other users. The update is reported to be the company’s most recent minor change that the corporation is testing to encourage increased Twitter usage.
A new pop-up that asks individuals to share a link to tweets rather than a screenshot is beginning to appear for some Twitter users. The popup reads, “Share Tweet instead?” and pops up right after a user screenshots a post.
A report states that numerous other users, however, are observing various variations, including “Copy link” and “Share Tweet” buttons, that are visible to users. The “Copy link” pop-up, which retrieves a link to the screenshotted tweet, was experienced by certain employees of The Verge.
Twitter’s Shaokyi Amdo, a spokesman, acknowledged that the prompt is being tested with a small number of iOS users.
Note that, screenshots of tweets are eventually reposted on the network, but they are also shared on websites other than Twitter, such as group chats and other messaging platforms like Instagram, and TikTok videos. Additionally, there are more steps involved in visiting Twitter after reading a screenshotted message elsewhere than simply clicking a straight link. Therefore the engagement that Twitter is losing out on is images of tweets performing well elsewhere.
Users can already share tweets straight to their Instagram stories, but viewers of the stories are unable to tap on the shared tweet to see it on the Twitter app. It is also speculated that a prompt informing users that they can share tweets with others, even those without accounts, was being tested by Twitter.

A woman detected her pregnancy even before the clinical test, thanks to Apple Watch
One more time, albeit for good reasons, the Apple Watch is making headlines. Before any medical exam, Apple Watch purportedly detected a woman’s pregnancy. The lady took to social media platforms to make people aware of how the fitness tracker helped her spot pregnancy even before clinical tests. She claims in the post that she initially thought something was strange because the device had been displaying her normal heart rate for days.
With its features, Apple Watch has regularly been praised for helping to save lives. Early heart attack symptoms have been successfully identified, saving countless lives. The smartwatch has apparently also detected a pregnancy in an expectant mother. Before any clinical test, Apple Watch purportedly detected a woman’s pregnancy. According to a 34 years old woman’s post on Reddit, she became suspicious that something was wrong when her Apple Watch alerts showed that her average resting heart rate had dramatically increased over the previous few days. However many different things could cause someone’s heart rate to significantly rise.
The woman initially believed she had COVID-19 because one of the symptoms was an increased heart rate. A COVID test, however, revealed that this was untrue. Additionally, it did not appear to be a typical cold.
She wrote, Usually, my resting heart rate is about 57 and my heart rate has increased to 72. It’s not a big jump, but it showed up on an alert that it’s been higher for 15 days. I started trying to figure out why.”
After discovering a number of online articles that stated that pregnant women can also suffer an elevated heart rate in the very first weeks of pregnancy. A doctor confirmed the woman was four weeks along after the woman took a pregnancy test at a clinic.
“The watch knew I was pregnant before I knew it! I would have never ever tested without wearing my watch because I have not had a period to be late on one,” she further added.

Like every preceding network rollout, Jio has launched a welcome offer for its 5G service. But first, you need an invite to avail of the 5G network. If you are located in one of the four cities where Jio has rolled out its True 5G network, you may be eligible for the service. Secondly, you need to have a 5G-enabled smartphone to use the network. Here is our list of the cheapest 5G-enabled smartphones you can buy right now.
If you meet the two prerequisites mentioned above, head over to the MyJio app to see if you’ve received an invite to the welcome offer. For the initial phase of the rollout, Jio is keeping the service invitational based. The larger rollout will take place in the coming months, with Jio planning on pan-India 5G coverage by December.
If you’re one of the lucky Jio users that received the 5G invite, you can make use of the Jio 5G Welcome Offer. As a part of the Welcome Offer, users with invites can use the 5G network as a part of their current data plan without any extra costs. Jio has not announced its 5G pricing and data plans yet. Right now, the only requirement to use 5G network on your smartphone is that you need to have an active base plan of Rs 239 minimum.
Here’s how you can switch to 5G network on your smartphone once you’ve got the invite.
Step 1: Go to Settings and select Connections.
Step 2: Tap on Mobile Network and select Network Mode.
