We made sure to dig deeper and look into every nook and corner of the device, to thoroughly test whether it stands up to its name or not. Starting from the design of its book cover keyboard slim and that of the tablet itself, through its display and onto the performance of its CPU, software and cameras, we made sure no stone is left unturned. Here is a complete inside out review of the all-new Samsung Galaxy Tab S8, so you can make a wise and informed buying decision before you invest your valuable savings into it.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Review: Design and Display
Design
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 comes sitting in a slender rectangular box fit to its size. It is accompanied by a slim book cover keyboard, which is compatible with the Galaxy Tab S7 and S8 models (the keyboard needs to be purchased additionally). Opening the large-faced lid, one gets the first look of its massive silhouette. Of course, you would find the weight of the tab to be proportional to its size. One definitely gets a little conscious while lifting a device which weighs more than 500g. A sizeable chunk of your reflection waves back at you with a huge smile, through the enormous shiny black display of the Galaxy Tab S8. Even visibly, you would feel the surface area of the display to be quite massive in size. To give you an idea, its estimated body dimensions would be 10 x 6.5 x 0.25-inches. The screen comes with a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The display size is 11-inches, with a screen-to-body ratio of 83.6%. Flip it over and you’ll meet its smooth metal body. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 is offered in three colours, namely Silver, Pink Gold and Graphite, out of which we were able to get our hands on the Graphite model. The back, however, didn’t seem as fingerprint resistant as any matte finished surface should be. On the far top left corner lies its dual-camera system along with the flashlight, with all three placed sequentially. Extending from the camera setup is a thin glossy black magnetic strip, which is used to connect the S-Pen with the tablet and also charge it. The Samsung brand engraving at the bottom left corner together with this glossy black magnetic strip completes the overall look of the tab and gives it an elegant character. The frame of the tab is also metallic and comes in body colour. On its right side come neatly placed is its fingerprint sensor integrated power button, volume button and the SIM card tray can be found at the bottom. Also, on the bottom part will be visible two loudspeakers at either end (just like its top), but with a Type-C port in the middle. On the left side frame of the tablet lies a small 3-pin connector, which connects the tablet with its slim cover keyboard.
Package
Supporting the Galaxy Tab S8 comes an S-Pen, a Type-C to Type-C USB cable, a SIM ejector tool and a user manual. The S-Pen is magnetic in nature and effortlessly snaps right into place, whether it’s the book cover’s S-Pen magnetic case holder or the magnetic strip at the back of the tab for charging. And yes, it looks exactly like a pen, with a plastic feel to it along with a single button for its operational needs.
Book Cover Keyboard Slim
Coming to the Galaxy Tab S8 keyboard case, it is pretty lightweight and comes in different colour options. We received the cover in Graphite Black colour, just like the body of the Galaxy Tab S8. Fitting perfectly to the tab, it covers it just like a cloak, giving it a professional look and a futuristic appeal. It even has a neat slit at the back tailor-made for the camera and the magnetic S-Pen charging strip to fit right in. It ensures efficient use of the tablet’s camera or the S-Pen charging station and makes sure the book cover does not pose a hindrance. The back of the tablet sticks to the book cover effortlessly via the built-in magnets, which hold on to the tab pretty strongly. As hinted earlier, the book cover even contains a magnetic holder for the S-Pen, so that one doesn’t forget or misplace it while the tablet rests in its suite. The book cover keyboard carries a 3-pin connector at its top for the tab to get vertically connected with it right away, without separating it from the magnetic cover. Once you position the tab correctly into its place within the cover, then all you need to do is just fold it to set it according to your comfort. It allows you to use the tab in multiple positions, be it horizontally, vertically, with or without a keyboard or for hands-free usage.
Display
Bringing the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 to life makes you even more lively in return. Lighting up its humongous screen simultaneously lights you up with excitement. To tell you, the S8 tab comes with a 120Hz TFT LCD display. The screen resolution is 1,600 x 2,560 pixels with a 16:10 aspect ratio and about 274ppi pixel density. When taken into direct sunlight, the screen is easily legible with a brightness level equal to or more than 40%. The vivid display colours, their brightness and contrast balance is quite successful in appealing to the eye. Read also: Samsung Galaxy S22 Review: The Ultimate Quality Smartphone of 2022
Touch and S-Pen Experience
The tablet’s touch experience is quite smooth and fluid and is even more joyous with the S-Pen. The S-Pen can not only be utilised for clicking, scribbling, drawing or making notes, but it also supports gesture operations. You can wave your S-Pen like a magic wand and give gesture commands to operate various applications within the tab without touching it. For example, once the S-Pen is connected with the tab, keeping the tip of your S-Pen facing towards the tab, you can swipe left and right in the air to switch between various modes given in the camera app. Do keep in mind though, that not all applications may support the S-Pen gesture commands. Also, the gestures vary from app to app that does support it. But on the upside, the Galaxy Tab S8 software always remains by your side and guides you through it all.
Youtube, OTT Streaming and Gaming Experience
We tested the device thoroughly to throw some light on its display and touch performance in depth. The size of the screen definitely works as a huge plus point here. Watching videos on Youtube gives you an even more life-like experience. Videos can be streamed in up to 2160p at a 60fps frame rate. The vividness and clarity in the picture quality offered along with the dynamic colour range provided are excellent. The streaming quality offered in Netflix was decent. Some may feel here that there may be a slight scope for improvement. On the gaming front, the device was tested by playing high-end games like Need For Speed: No Limits. The graphics quality was appreciable while the touch response was quite smooth and pretty commendable. Actions were swift and effortless. Playing on a screen larger than a smartphone, again, no doubt takes the experience to the next level. The colour range is also amazing. Overall, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 reflects a professional and elegant design language whereas the display is admirable and pleases the eye.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Review: Performance and Cameras
Specifications
Elaborating further on the Galaxy Tab S8 specs, it comes with a Qualcomm SM8450 Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (4 nm) chipset, an Octa-core processor and Adreno 730 GPU. The Android 12 supported device comes with 8GB and 12GB RAM options in combination with 128GB and 256GB internal memory. It comes with a battery capacity of 8,000mAh, which supports 45W fast charging and gets fully charged in about an hour. The S-Pen gets fully charged via the magnetic charging station provided at the back of the tablet, in less than 30 mins. The tablet supports a single SIM and comes with a dedicated microSD card slot.
Software Performance
Arriving at the home page, you will feel a gush of familiarity seeing the typical Samsung interface at your service. The applications and their bubble icons, their placement, look and feel are pretty straightforward and efficient. You won’t see any extra applications residing within the app drawer. While using multiple applications simultaneously, no app crash was observed. One can easily switch between different applications windows without facing any lag. The sound quality provided by its 4 stereo speakers is also amazing. Read also: Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 Review: The best in class tablet
Cameras
Coming to the Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 camera, it comes with a 13MP+6MP dual rear camera system along with a 12MP front selfie camera. There are 5 zoom modes offered, namely 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 4x and 8x. Videos can be recorded from both the front and the rear camera in UHD up to 60fps frame rate. However, the camera lacks quality overall. Even the regular Photo mode from the rear camera in 1x zoom appears to be grainy and the captures lack details. The end results appear slightly softer. But having said that, the colour range is decent and appears close to reality. The Portrait mode works better than the Photo mode in terms of capturing details, colour and the overall picture quality and provides a range of inbuilt filters as well. Going up the ladder, the quality of the zoom modes deteriorates significantly with the increase in zoom level. But the S8 Tab is not built for pro-level photography, it is built for Zoom and Video calls, so bear that in mind when purchasing. Speaking of the selfie camera, it works decently. The colours appear bright and the contrast is well balanced and appealing to the eye. However, the captures lack details and the facial features may appear pretty soft in texture, resulting in a slightly unnatural look. Coming to the videos, recordings made from the rear camera with the UHD setting are appreciable. Under well-lit circumstances, the results appear vivid and the picture quality and colour scheme are also good. Overall, the camera package offered with the Galaxy Tab S8 has a definite scope of improvement.
Verdict
To sum up, the humongous Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 is a device perfect for professional use. The screen size, display quality together with the flawless software and touch experience complement each other and work great as a team. The body design of the tab also reflects elegance and professionality. Yes, the camera package offered with it in this price range has a definite scope of upgradation. But overall, its pros weigh heavier than its cons. Geekbench 5 gives it a single-core score of 772 and a multi-core score of 2,827 points and only a few devices score higher than it. If you are very particular about the camera quality, you may want to keep looking at other options in the market. But otherwise, we would definitely give a go-ahead for buying it at the price range it is offered in. It is great for people working from home or children attending online classes. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 price in India starts from Rs 58,999.

Asus Zenbook 14X Space Edition laptop review: Design and Display
Everything from the packaging to the laptop itself spells out unique and fresh. Packed inside a dark black box you get a silver hard box containing this marvel of a laptop, we had a lot of fun unboxing it and going over its exclusive features. As soon as you unbox the device you are greeted by a titanium silver laptop in the form of Asus Zenbook 14X Space Edition. On its lid you will find a lot of things including a fresh space derived design, Morse Code: Ad Astra Per Aspera and the unique to its class – a 3.5-inch single colour OLED display.
This display can be managed via the MyAsus App that comes pre-loaded on the laptop and can play many pre-put apps, or one can load their own identity as well in the form of text or animation. Yes, in case any of you are wondering, you can turn off this screen also to save battery. We liked the idea of having a second screen on the LID as that can run advertisements we want the people on the other side to see. Think of it this way, it is a free billboard advertisement for people to see when you are sitting at the airport waiting for your plane. Also, the brightness of this second display can be controlled to up to 3 levels.
Moving on, inside you get a 14-inch OLED touchscreen that has a resolution of FHD+ (2,880×1,800 pixels) with a 16:10 aspect ratio. The display is excellent and you get to see vivid colours and super deep blacks on it. We loved our experience with the touch display of the Asus Zenbook 14X Space Edition laptop. It responds well to the lightest of taps and one can watch and enjoy just about anything on it. The only thing that we were not in awe of was the glossiness, but since it is a touchscreen it has to be glossy.
Moreover, the screen is not a fingerprint magnet, it does get a few smudges here and there, but a quick wipe gets rid of them easily. We played a lot of YouTube videos, Netflix Shows and Prime Movies on this laptop and it kept impressing us.
Talking more about the design, the Asus Zenbook 14X Space Edition laptop comes with a fairly large dish-type backlit keyboard. This has a fully functional multimedia setup on top and the power button is dressed in space red. The power button also doubles up as the fingerprint reader, which works well on most counts. A hint of the same red can be found on the space key too, after all, it is the “Space Edition”.

Under the keyboard is a large touchpad that also doubles up as the Numpad, similar to as seen on many other Zenbooks before this laptop. The same space design can be seen on the inside panels too. There is an HD webcam embedded within the Asus Zenbook 14X Space Edition laptop. A feature that is attached to this webcam is that is an advanced privacy shield that comes in electronically. Press the F10 button on the laptop and the orange shield will hide the web camera.
The Asus Zenbook 14X Space Edition laptop comes with a few ports, too. You get USB, Audio ports along with a microSD card reader on the right. And on the left, you will find the HDMI and twin thunderbolt USB/Type-C ports. The overall weight of the Asus Zenbook 14X Space Edition laptop is under 1.4Kg and is 15.9mm slim. All in all, Asus get up and take a bow, you have designed a marvel.
Asus Zenbook 14X Space Edition laptop review: Performance
Stepping into the arena of performance, the Asus Zenbook 14X Space Edition laptop has a lot to offer. Some of its great features we have already spoken about in the Design section, now let’s further take a look at its configuration. The one we tinkered with had an Intel Core i9 (12th gen, 12900H) CPU that has a clock speed of 2.5GHz normal and 5GHz (boosted) and has a whopping 14 cores. With it, 32GB of LPDDR5 4,800MHz RAM is available. For storage, a 1TB of PCIe SSD has been put in that has a read speed of 6,500+ MB/sec. The only thing missing in the configuration is the kitchen sync. Asus does end up giving you the absolute best in this notebook.
Oh wait, we forgot about the GPU. What you get are integrated Intel Graphics in the form of Iris X. Why Asus, Why? If only a dedicated graphic card was put in, this would have been the perfect laptop of 2022. Nonetheless, the graphics by Intel are not too shabby. For most users these are sufficient and the list includes graphic designers and video editors. Games like DOTA 2 and CS: Go can be played at the highest settings. But games like PUBG can only cope up at medium settings with few frame drops here and there.
But, this laptop is not made for gaming. It is made for entertainment and professional use. For that, users also get a very loud set of speakers that are tuned by Harman Kardon. The OS on board is Windows 11 Home edition, which is ok, but we would have preferred the Pro version. Also, another good thing is that you do not get a lot of bloatware software on the Asus Zenbook 14X Space Edition laptop. Just a few packaged apps owned by Asus, which are essential for the daily working or updation and support requirements of the notebook.

The ergonomic hinge also comes in the Asus Zenbook 14X Space Edition laptop, which raises the machine a few centimetres for a more ergonomical typing experience. This also dissipates heat. Other feature of the laptop includes WiFi 6E, ambient noise cancelling MIC (which works well) and a charging cable/charger box that can be used as a laptop stand too. Yes, do not throw that box away, instead, you can use it as a laptop stand.
Finally, let’s talk about its battery life. The Asus Zenbook 14X Space Edition laptop sports a 63Whrs 3-cell Li-ion battery that can be charged using the supplied 100W charger. For us, under nominal use, the laptop lasted for a little under 6 hours (with the second screen turned off) and the backlit keyboard at mid brightness. With the rear screen turned on, we lost half an hour of work time.
Verdict
Overall, the Asus Zenbook 14X Space Edition laptop impressed us on many counts. The design, the superb screen, the addition of a second display, safety features (that included military standard toughness) and excellent sound. Over that, The box also holds a space silver carry case for the device.
The system we reviewed can be picked up for Rs 1,69,990, which gives you an exceptional bang for the buck. In case you want to game also on your laptop, then we would suggest the ROG range by Asus. Else if you want to spend a little less, there are inexpensive versions available too, that have less RAM, lower Intel CPU and lesser storage. In case money is no bar, this is one fine laptop to own.

The Oppo F21 Pro is the latest smartphone by the company in the Indian smartphone market and it comes in two versions – one supporting 5G and the other a regular 4G model. The device is priced at Rs 22,999 and comes with an impressive set of specifications. Read the rest of our Oppo F21 Pro review to find out more about its pros and cons:

Oppo F21 Pro review: Design and Display
It’s a good thing that we are talking about the design of the Oppo F21 Pro first, because it is so very different from other phones available in the market. The smartphone sports a leatherback design on its back panel and is available in Rainbow Spectrum, Cosmic Black and Sunset Orange colours. The handset that we got for review was dressed in Orange. The colours, as well as the texture of the back panel, make the Oppo F21 Pro stand out of the crowd. The surface of the smartphone does not only look premium and unique, but it also doesn’t catch fingerprint marks or smudges unlike phones with glossy or glass finish. The back of the device also houses its rectangular camera module and the Oppo branding.
While the right edge of Oppo F21 Pro houses the Power button, the left one has the Volume Rocker keys and the SIM tray sandwiched on it. The Type-C port, speaker grill, 3.5mm headphone jack, and the microphone are placed on the bottom, and the top edge has the secondary microphone.
Flip over and you will see the front panel of the device dominated by the 6.4-inch screen outlined by thin bezels and a rather thick chin. The screen has the fingerprint scanner embedded in it and also houses a punch-hole selfie camera on the top left. The earpiece is placed discreetly on the top of the screen. In a nutshell, we would say that the design of the Oppo F21 Pro is very unique and we are really impressed by it.
Moving on, the smartphone sports a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display that has a refresh rate of 90Hz. It also has WideVine L1 certification and can support HDR10 content. The colours showcased on the screen were vibrant and they stayed consistent at different viewing angles. Even the brightness was apt and the sunlight readability was decent. The images projected were also sharp and clear at all times and we really enjoyed watching video content on YouTube and Netflix. During our time with the device, we didn’t encounter any issues with the display of Oppo F21 Pro. It is definitely among the good aspects of the smartphone.
Oppo F21 Pro review: Performance and Cameras
Before we talk about the performance of Oppo F21 Pro, let’s take a minute to discuss the rest of its specifications. The 4G model of the smartphone is powered by Snapdragon 680 SoC coupled with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of built-in UFS 2,2 storage. The device houses a 4,500mAh battery and has support for SuperVOOC charging. It runs Android 12 with ColorOS baked on top and sports a triple rear camera setup with a 64MP primary sensor, a 2MP micro lens surrounded by Orbit Light, and a 2MP depth lens. The Orbit Light indicates to the user about notifications and also acts as a fill light for low-light shots. The 5G model on the other hand comes with a 6.4-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor. It also comes with a triple rear camera setup but has a 2MP macro lens instead of the microsensor on the 4G model. For selfies and video calls, there is a 32MP front snapper.
Oppo F21 Pro runs Android 12 skinned with ColorOS 12, and the software comes with a number of useful customizations like Air Gestures and an in-built Screen Translator. But then, there is bloatware too. You’ll find quite a few preloaded apps including Amazon, Snapchat, Dailyhunt, Josh, and Hot Apps which sends suggestions for other app downloads, Share Chat, Facebook, etc.
Coming to the performance, it was decent. The smartphone can perform most day-to-day functions with ease, and it took some multitasking well. Just don’t overdo it. And sometimes, apps took a while to load, which we found to be strange considering the kind of RAM and storage the device has. Gaming was decent too. Playing most of the lighter games like Alto’s Odyssey on the handset was no problem at all. It was with the high-graphic ones like Asphalt 9: Legends that the gaming performance suffered a bit. The fingerprint sensor of Oppo F21 Pro mostly worked well, but there were times when it didn’t unlock with our moist fingers.
The battery of the handset was among its best features and whatever we did with our device, we easily got more than a day with the 4,500mAh cell. What makes it even better is that the battery goes from 0 to full while charging in just 90mins.
Oppo F21 Pro comes with a triple rear camera setup, as we had mentioned earlier. The primary 64MP lens gave us some good shots during the day and in well-lit settings. There was sharpness in the images, but there were times when the colours appeared to be a little too saturated. If you like your photos to be very vibrant, you may not mind it. You can also try clicking pictures with the ExtraHD mode enabled, which would basically scale the image to 108MP resolution, according to the company.
With the microlens, you can zoom in to the smallest of objects around you and click some amazing shots of them, provided you can keep your hands stable. Using the ring light does make the picture better, but not phenomenally. There is also a monochrome sensor on the device, in case you are fond of B&W pictures.
An image taken from the microlens (right)
But all of these weren’t as big an issue as low-light photography was. With some amount of light, the images turned out decent. They had some details and sharpness, but the colours weren’t that accurate. But with no light, the quality of the image really drops and even the Night Mode doesn’t solve the problem.
The selfie camera, on the other hand, did not disappoint us. We got some really nice-looking self-shots with the colours and sharpness just right.
Verdict
The design, display and battery of the Oppo F21 Pro are definitely its pros, but the performance and cameras could have been better. We are hoping in the next software update they become better. It can be the right buy for you if you want a very unique looking smartphone and are not that heavy on usage. Starting at 22,999 the Oppo F21 Pro seems to be a very decent buy in the mid-segment, especially for people who want to flaunt their smartphones.

Launched a few weeks ago is the all-new iQOO Z6 5G presented as Vivo’s sub-brand to the Indian markets. The brand-new smartphone comes in 4GB, 6GB and 8GB RAM options with 128GB internal memory. Supporting the model is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G (6nm) Octa-core processor with a 5,000mAh battery. The model also offers an AI triple camera system with a 50MP main camera. As we got our hands on the brand-new smartphone, we tried to dig deeper and test all its features thoroughly to verify whether it holds true to its name or not. Here is a complete inside out review of the iQOO Z6 smartphone, covering in detail everything from its packaging and design to its camera and CPU performance.
In This Article
iQOO Z6 Review: Design and Display
To start with, the design of the packaging that the new iQOO Z6 5G smartphone model comes riding in impresses you quite a lot. Removing its unconventional yet fancy diagonal-slit lid fills you with childish excitement. The box is compact but heavy, considering the number of contents it carries. The new iQOO Z6 package comes with a USB-A to Type-C charging cable, a Vivo adapter, a transparent silicone cellphone case, a SIM ejector tool, a quick start guide and a warranty card. The smartphone is offered in two colours, Dynamo Black and Chromatic Blue, out of which we were able to get our hands on the latter. Picking up the phone in your hand, you’ll feel its weight to be not too heavy but not too light either. Of course, you are greeted by your reflection visible in its shiny black display. Flip it over and you’ll meet its lustrous and elegant Chromatic Blue plastic back with a seemingly matte touch, whose colourful sparkle will reflect from your eyes. The triple-camera system along with the flashlight sits gracefully on a smooth black glass raised platform with a silver metallic frame in the top left corner, adding a sophisticated character to the smartphone. The silver iQOO brand engraving in the centre at the bottom completes the look of its back. In short, you’ll be as impressed with its body design as by its packaging. The smartphone comes wrapped in a body-coloured plastic frame with a metallic finish to it. On the right side come fitted its volume button and a fingerprint sensor integrated power button. The SIM card tray lies on its top while at the bottom comes a 3.5mm jack, a Type-C port and the loudspeaker. Upon bringing the iQOO Z6 smartphone to life, you’ll find the look and style of the display home screen to be quite sober. Its display is 6.58-inches in size with an 83.9% screen-to-body ratio. The 120Hz IPS LCD screen has a resolution of 1,080 x 2,408 pixels with a 20:9 aspect ratio and 401ppi density. You will be provided with button or gesture control options to choose from while setting up your device. The touch is feather-like and buttery smooth. However, some may find it difficult to get used to, due to its senseless touch experience. Brightness has to be set to more than 60% for the display to be legible under direct sunlight. Colours appearing on the smartphone display have a perfect balance of contrast, saturation and vibrance. Watching TV series and movies on Netflix was decent in terms of display and sound quality. The experience of streaming videos on Youtube was also good. However, the maximum streaming quality offered in the Youtube app was up to 1080p at a 60fps rate only. Despite that, the vividness, clarity and colour range of the playback does a great job of appealing to the eyes. The gaming experience on iQOO Z6 was also great. As observed while playing high-end games like Asphalt 9 Legends, the response to touch stimulus was quite smooth and swift while the graphics quality was commendable. Complementing the vivid video streaming and life-like gaming experience of the smartphone was its sound quality, which although seemed quite fair but could have been next-level if the phone supported stereo audio output. Overall, the design of the iQOO Z6 is quite well thought out and mesmerising. It is perfect to take for a night out and will easily catch the attention of the crowd at a party. The display quality of the smartphone is also appreciable. Read also: iQoo Neo 6 SE with 120Hz AMOLED display and triple rear cameras launched
iQOO Z6 Review: Performance and Cameras
Elaborating further on the review of the iQOO Z6 specs, the hybrid dual-SIM smartphone comes with a Qualcomm SM6375 Snapdragon 695 5G (6 nm) chipset, an Octa-core processing unit and an Adreno 619 GPU. It is offered with 4GB/6GB/8GB RAM options in combination with 128GB internal storage. The device comes with Android 12 OS and a battery of capacity 5,000mAh. It supports 18W fast charging and gets fully charged in about 1.5 hours. Heavy usage of the phone can make its battery last for about a day while mild and moderate usage can make it run for more than that. The device also supports 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.1. The fact that you get to enjoy Android 12 OS in a smartphone of its range is a big plus. The interface offered is quite decent and simple to use. Applications within the app drawer, however, could have been arranged better. Many unnecessary apps were found to be preinstalled on the smartphone. At the same time, popular OTT platforms like Netflix and Amazon Prime were found missing and had to be manually installed. There was no lag or app crash observed while using multiple applications simultaneously on the device. Switching between apps was also not a problem. The device also didn’t seem to get heated up easily upon usage for prolonged periods. Coming to the iQOO Z6 camera review, its 50MP+2MP+2MP rear triple camera system coupled with the 16MP front camera does quite a splendid job for a smartphone of its range. Although the number of zoom modes supported is limited (a 1x and a 2x zoom), the capture quality remains consistent throughout. Moreover, both the zoom modes are supported with the video mode and even with the night mode. The selfie camera, Portrait mode and the 50MP mode do, however, miss out on it. Videos can be recorded in up to 1080p at a 60fps frame rate from the rear camera and in up to 1080p at 30fps from the front.
iQOO Z6 5G: Rear Camera Photo Mode Vs Portrait Mode
iQOO Z6 5G: Portrait ModeThe normal ‘Photo’ mode from the rear camera works well. The shots appear close to reality in terms of the colour range and the details captured are amazing. The weight of blacks and whites increases in captures taken using the Portrait mode, reducing room for the mid-tones. Although this enhances the contrast element sharply in the images, they end up looking slightly unrealistic. But on the plus side, the Portrait mode is supported with a range of additional features like Bokeh, Beauty and Style. You can adjust each of your facial features in real-time via tools provided under the Beauty section whereas you get a range of pre-embedded filters to select from under the Style section. The range of choices provided for adjustment is quite impressive. iQOO Z6 5G: Photo Mode Vs Night ModeThe selfie camera enhances your skin tone and slightly softens up details, hence resulting in taking great selfies. Speaking of the rear camera’s night mode, it does an amazing job at brightening up the shots taken in even extreme low light conditions. However, it misses out on details and the results may appear slightly blurry. On the plus slide, the selfie camera also supports night mode and even has an auto screen light feature that works just like a ring light and evenly distributes light and brightness across your face, unlike the regular flash feature in other smartphone cameras.iQOO Z6 5G: 50MP ModeThe 50MP mode for the rear camera clicks vivid pictures with great colour quality and well-captured details, whereas switching on the AI enhancement mode in the camera helps in optimising images according to frame scene.Overall, the camera package offered with the smartphone is quite admirable in this price range. Verdict
Summing up, the all-new iQOO Z6 5G is a great choice as an upgrade over the regular feature phones. It not only offers a prominent body design with a pinch of glamour to it but also a good display and a quite appreciable camera quality. On the performance front as well, the smartphone works decently. Geekbench 5 gives it a single-core score of 647 and a multi-core score of 1859. Moreover, the model proves to be great for gaming, with the graphics quality provided. One may feel the battery life could be slightly improved. The device also does miss out on aspects like a stereo audio output. But weighing the pros that the smartphone offers as compared to its cons, these can surely be overlooked. We would definitely recommend you to go for the iQOO Z6 smartphone in the price range that it is offered. The iQOO Z6 5G price in India starts from Rs 13,999.

Philips is a well-known brand in the Indian market and recently they (finally) launched the Philips Sonicare 4300 here. Though this is a slightly dated model, as it has been in the international markets since 2018-2019, it has finally been officially launched in India. So, today we take a look at the neat device and this is Philips Sonicare 4300 toothbrush review you should not miss.
In This Article
Philips Sonicare 4300 review: Design
The Philips Sonicare 4300 resides in the Protective Clean range of Philips electric toothbrushes. This is the most basic model available, while the elder sibling, Philips Sonicare 5100 and Philips Sonicare 6100 have more features but those models are not available in India yet. Out of the box, the Philips Sonicare 4300 looks like the rest of the pack with a long white thick stem that houses the battery pack and the double mode power button.
An LED indicator is also there on the stem with a charging port. A mettle connector attaches the brush to the stem. There is only one brush attachment given in the box and for more, you would need to pay extra. A charging dock is also given in the box and the battery life is said to be 14 days and we got just about that. The device is dressed in white with a hint of blue as the power button.
Philips Sonicare 4300 review: Performance
Moving to the performance, the Philips Sonicare 4300 does not have any rotating bristles, but static ones that are pressure sensitive and vibrate when brushing. At first, the experience was quite alien as we are not used to it, but after a few days, we got used to it. The brush also indicates if you have spent enough time brushing as there is a quad-pacer in it.
The company claims that the Philips Sonicare 4300 will not just clean your teeth but make them whiter too. In our short period with it, we did not see a drastic change, but our teeth and gums did feel refreshed and better than before. The brush is able to reach hard to reach areas of the mouth easily and clean it with decent to good precision. Over that, there is a smart brush replacement indicator on it too, which will tell the users when they need to replace the brush head.

There are two intensities of vibrations in the Philips Sonicare 4300. Low and high, according to your preference you can set it. We used it on low as that was very gentle on the teeth.
Verdict
Overall, even though it is dated, we quite liked the Philips Sonicare 4300. It is certainly a good apparatus to own if you want to get rid of dental problems in the long run. We found it to be better than the regular toothbrush. At Rs 4,299 it is not a very expensive option to go for, but yes, we would have appreciated an additional toothbrush attachment in the box.
Over the past two decades, we have watched as ‘camera phones’ have become more and more adept at capturing high-quality images. Even those of us who knew nothing of photography learned to speak in megapixels and types of lenses.
The past few years in particular have seen advancements in smartphone cameras. Apple introduced Portrait Mode, which takes professional-looking photographs of close-up subjects. Smartphones now have wide lenses and night modes that capture incredible quality.
However, the best smartphone camera does not come close to a professional camera. Cameras used by professional photographers offer quality on a whole other level. They are also expensive and not nearly as portable.
Investing in an expensive professional camera comes with extra costs, such as protective bags. It also may require you to get specific insurance for camera equipment added to your renters or homeowners policy. It is not just a one-off investment.
But what if you want a camera that is better than your smartphone without spending big? Is it worth getting a cheap alternative? Here is what you need to consider.
In This Article
Compare the specs and features with your phone
No matter how great a cheap camera looks, you should compare the specs and features with the camera on your phone. Chances are that even a relatively cheap camera is better than your phone camera, but by how much? There may be no point paying for a whole new camera when it only produces slightly higher quality photos.
The features of your phone’s camera also may take it beyond the capabilities of a cheap camera. Your phone’s software may be able to optimize the image in a way the camera cannot. You end up with a better quality photo despite being inferior in terms of hardware.
Your phone’s features may also make it easier to store and edit photos than the camera would.
Dedicated equipment
However, you may decide to get a camera even if the improvement on your phone will not be particularly big. It may be that you want to go out on hikes or trips with a camera but without your phone as a distraction. In this case, a dedicated camera can be extremely useful.
In some cases, you may need to use your phone for something else while taking pictures with your camera. Your phone can multitask, but it becomes difficult once you get the camera involved.
It is also simply possible that you see photography as a pursuit in itself and want to give it its own space. In the same way that some people write using a pen and paper rather than on a computer – despite a computer having far more features – some people would rather have specific equipment for photos. In this case, it is not the quality that matters so much but rather the experience.
Functionality
We’ve mentioned that smartphones have features that some cameras do not, but the opposite also applies. There are some cheap cameras that don’t take particularly high-quality photos but have far more functionality than your smartphone does. They may have greater zoom capabilities, different types of photo settings, and more.
Camera functionality may also be easier to use than the functions on a phone. Smartphones want to provide something for everyone, and therefore features become confusing. They are supposed to do a number of things but end up doing an amalgamation instead. It is therefore harder to get your specific requirements provided to you by your phone.
Cheap phone and expensive camera?
If you really want a good camera, you may want to consider getting a cheap phone and using your savings on the camera. The processing power of an iPhone X, for example, is not as good as that of the most recent iPhone, but it is still better than most people need. The big difference between the two phones is, essentially, camera quality.
By getting a second-hand phone for hundreds of dollars left, you have some extra money to spend on a good camera. Along with the funds you would have spent on a cheap camera, you can find something that best suits your needs.
