12 Best New Emojis And Their Meaning For Using In Your Chats And Instagram Posts

We know you feel it too. Chats and posts on social media without emojis are utterly bland, aren’t they? Emojis fill our digital lives and expressions with our real emotions. They are nothing but our own mirror reflections that appear during various situations that we find ourselves in. Agreed, we might not be able to completely eradicate the many digital miscommunications that creep in, solely through the use of emoticons. But they are definitely a huge step up from the lifeless text messages that make it impossible for a user to understand the other person’s mood. Here are the 12 best new emojis of 2023 and their meanings, that you can use in your chats and Instagram posts. We might not realise it, but we unconsciously do read people from their slightest behaviour and adjust ours to react accordingly. From facial expressions as mild as raising an eyebrow to small hand gestures, these reveal a lot about our personalities, moods, and state of mind. And in the digital space, it is the emojis, GIFs, and stickers that help us with this deciphering process.

Face Holding Back Tears

Holding back tears emoji- 10 Best New Emojis And Their Meaning
The very first on our list of the 12 best new emojis of 2023 to use in your chats is the face with a smile but holding back tears. And surely we all can relate to this face, no? We pull it up unknowingly on so many occasions. How do you feel watching cute puppies or kittens hopping around in reels or videos on Instagram? Recall the occasions when you were extremely happy and proud of someone close to you. Doesn’t your heart get a bit emotional in such moments? This emoji represents your tears of joy, the admiration, proudness, or gratitude that you feel towards someone in those instances.

Melting Face

Melting Face Emoji- 10 Best New Emojis And Their Meaning One straightforward way to perceive the melting emoji is its representation of our situation during extremely hot weather conditions. But on the other hand, one can’t help but notice the slight sense of sarcasm that the emoji lends. The emoji does tend to remind us of those moments in our lives when we might have felt embarrassed, shameful, or suffering from intense dread sinking in.

Face With Open Eyes And Hand Over Mouth

Face With Open Eyes And Hand Over Mouth Next on our list of the 12 best new emojis of 2023 is this one. Needing no explanation, the face with open eyes and hand over the mouth is clearly meant to express shock or disbelief. But we wonder why it makes us feel that it might have a rather funny or mischievous use case as well. Have you ever teased any of your friends or siblings by scaring them with the fact that their actions would have negative consequences (when it might not be true in reality)? You know, the look of ‘what have you done?!’, while you’re rolling on the floor laughing inside your head? Face With Peeking Eye

Peeking Eye Emoji - 10 Best New Emojis And Their Meaning Now, we say this one was certainly required. And the way it has been designed and brought up makes you chuckle instantly, doesn’t it? It represents your reaction when you want to look away from a frightening or embarrassing situation. We also have the same look on our faces when we watch a horror movie. We might not have the courage to watch the entire jump-scare scene with wide-open eyes, but still have the curiosity to know what happened next. Isn’t it relatable?

Saluting Face

Saluting Face Emoji The saluting face has been introduced to be used as a sign of respect. During our lifetime, we come across a number of people who make a solid positive impact on our lives. To those who inspire you in different ways, those whom you look up to or have a deep sense of respect for, this emoji gives you a chance to pay homage to them.

Dotted Line Face

Dotted line face- 10 Best New Emojis And Their Meaning The dotted line face emoji might have seemed a little tricky to decipher at first, right? Let us help you out here. Dotted lines around a character is a well-known trope in comic books to refer to someone that is invisible or hidden. Now, we understand that finding context for this emoji in that sense might be difficult in daily life. However, it can also represent smallness or submissiveness, a feeling of being left out or alone, or even depression.

Face With Diagonal Mouth

Diagonal Mouth Face The next on our list of the 12 best new emojis of 2023 for you to use in your chats or on Instagram is this one with a closed slanting or diagonal mouth. According to Unicode, it is the face for the expression ‘meh’, which is used in slang for stating your lack of interest or enthusiasm on a subject. You also pull up this face when you are sceptical, indifferent, unsure, or disappointed at something. It kind of starts to make sense now, doesn’t it?

Rightwards And Leftwards Hand

Leftward and Rightward Hands Another one among the confusing new emoji arrivals of 2023 is the rightwards and leftwards hand. It would make sense for us to use it on occasions wherein we want to extend our hand to the next person to shake hands with them. Even we are quite curious to know about its other possible use cases. If any more contexts for using this emoji come to your mind, we would be absolutely delighted to hear about them. Do share with us in the comments section below! Palm Down And Palm Up Hand

Palm Up and Down Emojis By having a first look at them, both the palm up and palm down hand emoji appear to represent a polite expression. Unicode suggests that the palm down hand can be used for indicating the dropping of an item (like dropping the mike, etc.), or dismissing someone. However, we think it can also be used for situations where you informally extend a hand towards someone, either asking them to come forward, pace up, or as a gesture of offering help. The palm-down emoji, on the other hand, can be used as an action of demanding, offering, beckoning, or asking a question.

Index Pointing At The Viewer

Finger Pointing At Viewer The final one on our list of the 12 best new emojis of 2023, for you to use in your chats and social media posts, is this one. Fairly simple to interpret, you point your index finger at someone in front of you to highlight that it is them that you’re talking about (in singular). The symbol is often used in numerous advertisements and posters as well as in art and in sign language. Different scenarios come to mind, ranging from the ‘YOU!’ you say to express anger towards the next person, to the ‘You’ you say as in “You. Are. Important.”. Of course, there also comes the ‘You’ in “I Love You” or “I Care for You”.    Index And Thumb Crossed Emoji Symbolism So those were some of the best new emojis of 2023 that you can use in your chats or Instagram and Facebook posts. There are plenty of other new emojis that have been added to the latest Emoji 14.0 set, that have been approved as a part of Unicode 14.0 in 2021. But amongst these, we would like to make a special mention to the emoji having the hand with index finger and thumb crossed. As all the K-Pop fans would already know, this is a symbol of a finger heart, for expressing love or affection towards someone. It has been popularized by South Korean celebrities and K-pop stars. And now it finally comes to our mobile devices as well!

Hand-pushing emoji (Left and Right)

Hand-pushing emoji (Left and Right) The hand-pushing emoji can be used to signal that you want to stop something. It conveys the feeling of dismissal and rejection. Like other hand emojis, it is available in a range of skin tones as well. If you want to get creative with it, you can use the right and left-hand pushing emojis to make it look like they are high-fiving each other.

Shaking face emoji

Shaking face emoji One of the best emojis introduced this year has to be the shaking face emoji. It can be used to signal extreme shock or disbelief. Since this emoji is so over the top, people often use it sarcastically. Read Also: 2 Quick Ways to Change or Update the Time on a Fitbit (2023)

Conclusion

We would love to know which of these emoticons you liked the best. We would also feel glad if you shared with us the various contexts you plan to use these. Why not make our lives a little brighter by sharing a few laughs and emotions together, whether digitally or in reality?

WhatsApp is planning to add an edit messages function that will allow you to make changes to your messages even after they have been sent

WhatsApp has been discovered to be working on the ability to edit text messages allowing us to correct any typos. This will allow users to edit messages on WhatsApp after they have been sent without having to totally delete them from the conversation and start over. WhatsApp, on the other hand, has begun to accommodate varied skin tones for message reactions. The new feature is presently accessible to some WhatsApp for Android beta testers as part of the most recent beta release. WhatsApp is working on allowing users to edit their text messages in a future version after providing the ability to reply to messages as a new messaging feature. According to WABetaInfo WhatsApp has begun testing the ability for users to edit their text messages in chats. It would display in addition to the existing Info and Copy choices that appear when you long-press a text message in the app. WhatsApp is planning to add an edit messages function that will allow you to make changes to your messages even after they have been sent As per the report, WhatsApp’s ability to edit messages was first announced on Twitter 5 years ago, but WhatsApp removed it after a few days. Finally, WhatsApp is working on reintroducing the text message edit option. WABetaInfo has published a few screenshots to demonstrate how the edit option on WhatsApp would work. There will most likely be no edit history to review prior versions of modified messages, but as this feature is still in development, their plans may change before it is released. Furthermore, details concerning the time window during which users will be able to update their messages are yet unknown but once beta testing is completed, it may be released to the general public. WhatsApp is also working on allowing a variety of skin-tone emojis for reactions. Even though this screenshot is from the WhatsApp beta for Android, WhatsApp is working on bringing the same feature to the WhatsApp beta for iOS and Desktop. Separately WhatsApp is testing support for multiple skin tones for message reactions, in addition to working on the edit option. According to WABetaInfo, the WhatsApp for Android beta version 2.22.13.4 has already been handed out to select users. According to the screenshots that have been posted, Folded Hands and Thumbs Up now have skin tones based on the most recently used skin tone emoji from our main emoji list. So, for example, if you recently submitted a Light Skin Tone Thumbs Up, it will appear in the reactions tray as well. The curved edges of its display will be the first thing that catches your eye. Yes, the all-new Xiaomi 12 pro 5G comes with a curved display. Its sleek surface turns sideways elegantly and lights up your mood, unlike anything. Moreover, the screen comes with a protection of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.  Back Cover Flip over the phone and you’ll be staring at its plastic back, which has a subtle glittery touch and a matte feel. The smartphone is offered in three colours in India, Couture Blue, Opera Mauve, and Noir Black. We were able to get our hands on its black colour model. The glitter sparkles quickly take the limelight when you take the phone for a night out. The rear triple camera system along with the flashlight is neatly fitted into the mount, which is body-coloured. The mount is divided into several compartments proportionally, to fit each camera and flashlight. This makes them appear as if they are resting in separate rooms, but you have a top cross-sectional view of their house.  Xiaomi 12 Pro Frame The frame of the smartphone is slightly darker than the body colour. On the right side lie the volume and power buttons while the left side is left blank. At the bottom lies its USB Type-C port, SIM card tray as well as one of the stereo speakers. The device does not come with a headphone jack, which Xiaomi compensates for by providing the customers with the Type-C to 3.5mm headphone adapter. At its top lies the other of the two speakers and an LED charging indicator. Again, each feature on its exterior rests within its marked territory. Some may find this unique design highlight appealing while others may think the smartphone is better off without them. Bringing the phone to life has been made extremely hassle-free by the brand. Unlike other smartphones, which require you to undergo the initial setup process, the Xiaomi 12 Pro takes you directly to the home screen as soon as you long press the power button. This may appear a lot more convenient to many. The screen resolution is 1,440 x 3,200 pixels and the aspect ratio is 20:9, with about 521ppi density. The 120Hz AMOLED DotDisplay immediately pleases the eye with its colourful lighting, brightness, and contrast balance. But when taken under direct sunlight, the screen brightness has to be set to at least 70-80% for it to be clearly legible.  The experience of watching videos on Youtube is very life-like. The video streaming quality can be upgraded to a maximum of 2,160 pixels at a rate of 60fps in HDR. The clarity offered is amazing, and so is the colour scheme and screen lighting. The curved edges of the smartphone along with its stereo audio system work in favour of providing an altogether cinematic experience. Watching movies and TV shows on Netflix was also commendable. The stereo audio of the Xiaomi 12 Pro works decently and complements the whole streaming process.  Xiaomi 12 Pro Gaming Experience Gaming on the smartphone was tested by playing Asphalt 9 Legends on it. The graphics quality is quite appreciable. The colours are vibrant and have a pop element in them. The touch experience is fluid and smooth while the response to the touch commands is swift. This, coupled with the stereo sound of the smartphone, takes the entire gaming experience to the next level.  Overall, the design of the Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G is modest. Speaking of it display, its curvy edges surely add a character of elegance to the smartphone, apart from enhancing the streaming experience. Although the brightness of the screen is impressive indoors, its outdoor intensity has a scope of augmenting.  Read also: iQOO Z6 Review: Great Design And Camera Quality At This Price

Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G Review: Performance and Cameras.

Elaborating further on the Xiaomi 12 Pro specifications, the device is offered with 8GB/12GB RAM in combination with 128GB/256GB internal memory. The nano dual-SIM supporting phone comes with a Qualcomm SM8450 Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (4 nm) Octa-core processor and Adreno 730 GPU. It has a 4,600mAh battery capacity, which supports 120W fast charging. Wireless charging, as well as reverse wireless charging, is part of the package too. The phone can get fully charged in about half an hour via fast charging through a traditional wall socket. Overall, it has a good battery life. Upon mild usage, it can last for more than 2 days while upon moderate to heavy usage, it can last for about 1.5 days. Smartphone Home Screen and App Drawer Users get to enjoy Android 12 OS on the brand new smartphone with MIUI skin on top. The interface is pretty easy and efficient to use. Apps on the home screen come already classified within different folders based upon usage, which you can modify according to your personal requirements. The app drawer also categorises the apps based on their utility. Icons have a square shape and their size, look and feel is quite comfortable for usage. The screen appears vibrant and colourful while the touch is soft and fluid. The device, however, seems to get heated up easily even with moderate usage when under warm weather conditions found in New Delhi, India. The 4-speaker stereo audio system of the Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G is tuned by Harman Kardon. You would notice the Harman/Kardon branding on the top side of the frame as well. In terms of loudness, the audio works satisfactorily. Setting the sound to 70% or more would give you a majestic experience through the device. During gaming, the audio loudness sinks slightly to the lower side. However, we feel pumping the audio a little bit more could have made it even more thrilling.  Xiaomi 12 Pro Triple Camera System Coming to the Xiaomi 12 Pro camera review, it comes with a 50MP+50MP+50MP triple rear camera system along with a 32MP selfie camera. Six zoom modes are provided for its rear cameras, 0.6x, 1x, 2x, 5x, 10x, and 20x. No zoom options are provided for the front camera. Moreover, zoom options are provided even with the Night Mode and the 50MP Mode for the rear camera. Videos can be recorded from the rear camera up to a whopping 8k resolution at a 24fps frame rate and in 4k at both 30fps and 60fps rates. From the front camera, recordings can be made with a resolution of up to 1080p at both 30fps and 60fps frame rates.
Smartphone Photo-Mode
Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G: Rear Camera Photo Mode
A noteworthy point that can be highlighted as a huge plus of its rear triple-camera system is that the quality of the zoom modes continues to stay put up to at least 5x, without any compromise in the clarity of the image. The range of the zoom itself is appreciably deep as we move up on the scale. In the standard Photo mode from the rear camera, the colours in the frame appear bright and full of contrast, appealing to the eyes. The colour range is also pretty wide. The Portrait mode does its job well and enhances the image quality even more. The fineness in clarity of the captures deserves an applause. In bright light, shots appear vivid. Even if the natural lighting in the environment is slightly low, the camera automatically brightens up the images and adjusts colour saturation accordingly.
Xiaomi 12 Pro Portrait-Mode
Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G: Portrait-Mode
The rear camera Pro mode lets you set the focus, ISO, lens, and a range of other factors according to your requirements. Tweaking these settings helps you capture the perfect image under any external conditions. The Night mode in the device is offered for both the front and the back cameras, and works up to the mark. In low light, from the rear camera, it increases the brightness of the colours in the frame to a great deal. Details are captured very well. The whites and blacks within the images are adjusted to good extents, based on the requirements of a particular colour shade. Overall, the shots appear quite captivating and attractive.
Photo-Mode Vs Night-Mode
Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G: Photo Mode Vs Night Mode
The colour scheme in the selfie camera frame is bright and pleasant. Under well-lit conditions, especially indoors, the shots have commendable clarity. The selfies slightly soften your skin tone to enhance your overall looks, but makes it appear natural at the same time. The AI mode of the rear camera recognises the in-frame conditions and adjusts the settings accordingly. For example, the element of greens within the images increases in case foliage is being captured.  Overall, the camera package offered with the Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G is astounding.  Read also: OnePlus Nord CE 2 Review: Super Stylish Design With Excellent Performance

Verdict

Xiaomi 12 Pro Geekbench 5 scores To sum up, the number of features that the all-new Xiaomi 12 Pro 5G offers, along with the quality, in its price range is admirable. It offers a sleek and elegant design with a pinch of glamour. The AMOLED display provides a delightful video streaming and gaming experience while its curvy edges add to your excitement. You get to enjoy the latest Android 12 OS features and the battery life of the smartphone is also commendable. Moreover, the quality of the camera package also speaks for itself.  The smartphone may need to tune up its sunlight legibility. The brand may also need to work on the issue of the heating of the device. But other than that, it is a wonderful choice to go for, although the price range might fall slightly on the higher side. Geekbench 5 CPU benchmark gives it a single-core score of 1,047 (the highest amongst all devices), and a multi-core score of 2,935. Display Specifications for the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro have been leaked: Details inside

Google announced the launch of its most affordable Pixel 6A at its I/O 2022 tech event. Alongside the new device, the company also teased the design of both Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro which are scheduled to release later this year. Now the display specifications for Google’s forthcoming flagship smartphones have appeared online The smartphones are expected to have displays similar to the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, which were released last year. Google previewed its next-generation devices, revealing that they will be will feature the company’s next-generation Tensor SoC and will run on Android 13 out of the box. The display specifications for the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, were leaked online ahead of their release later this year. The upcoming smartphones will have the same Samsung panels as the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, according to code uncovered by 9to5Google in the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). The Pixel 7’s display driver is called Cheetah, while the Pixel 7 Pro’s display driver is designated Panther. According to the source, these files expose the characteristics of forthcoming devices. The Pixel 7 will have a full-HD+ display with 1,080×2,400 pixels of resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate, similar to the Pixel 6, according to the code, which indicates that Samsung’s S6E3FC3 panel will be used. The display is expected to be significantly shorter than the Pixel 6, with height and width reduced by 2mm and 1mm, respectively. According to Google’s driver code, the Pixel 7 Pro will feature the same QHD+ display with 1,440 x 3,120 pixels of resolution, and a 120Hz refresh rate as the Pixel 6 Pro, which was released last year. It is also said to use the same Samsung S6E3HC3 panel. The Pro variant, unlike the Pixel 7, will have the same screen as the previous model. The Pixel 7 Pro display drivers also hint that the top model may be able to display content in 1080p mode thanks to a recently discovered setting on Android 13. This may be utilised to allow Android to save power by rendering everything at 1080p and then converting it to 1440p using the panel’s “DDIC scaling.” While not as appealing to the eye, it’s likely that this is intended as an optional solution to save battery life, perhaps as part of Low Power Mode. Google’s forthcoming flagship smartphones, the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, were also teased at the Google I/O keynote event. The devices will be powered by Google’s Tensor SoC and will come preloaded with Android 13.0, according to the company. Snapchat announced Shared Stories, allowing users to engage with more Snapchatters

Snapchat, the popular photo-sharing app, has received a new upgrade. A new feature called Shared Stories has been released, which allows users to invite other Snapchatters into a group to a Shared Stories group to view and contribute to the story. The Snapchat Shared stories is an upgraded feature to Custom Stories that earlier allowed users to create a Story and add friends to view and contribute. Snapchat has introduced Shared Stories, a new option for users to form communities around the content they enjoy snapping. Shared Stories is a new version of Custom Stories, a Snapchat feature that previously allowed users to create a Story and invite friends to view and participate to it. With the new and enhanced Shared Stories, Snapchatters who have been added to a group may now invite their friends, making it easy for the entire soccer team, camp squad, or group of new coworkers to join. Snaps sent to Shared Stories, like all Snapchat Stories, expire after 24 hours. However, unlike standard friend Stories and Groups, this feature will not have a chat component in order to keep all talks between friends private. Content is monitored with care, utilising a combination of automatic language detection and new community review mechanisms that allow Snapchatters to actively participate in making Snaps in Shared Stories safe and enjoyable. Snapchat users will now be alerted if they join a Shared Story with someone they’ve blocked. This allows Snapchatters to exit a Shared Story and guarantees that they always have complete control over who they share content on the platform. “With this next generation Story, we’re hoping to help Snapchatters turn shared moments into shared memories. Have Snaps to share? Head to the profile page, tap new story, then select Shared Story to get started,” the company via blog post said. The Centre has withdrawn a press release that warned people not to share photocopies of their Aadhaar cards

0
The government withdrew a UIDAI advisory warning people not to share photocopies of their Aadhaar cards with anyone. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) announced that the press release would be withdrawn because it could be misinterpreted. A review of the Unique Identification Authority of India’s (UIDAI) previous tweets reveals that the UIDAI’s policy on photocopies of Aadhar is unclear. On May 27, the UIDAI’s Bengaluru Regional Office issued a notice asking people not to share photocopies of their Aadhaar cards because they could be “misused.” The UIDAI issued Aadhaar cardholders are only advised to use and share their Aadhaar numbers with caution, according to MeitY’s withdrawal statement. The UIDAI notification on May 27 noted, “Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has warned the general public not to share a photocopy of one’s Aadhaar with any organisations because it can be misused. Alternatively, a masked Aadhaar which displays only the last 4 digits of your Aadhaar number can be used for the purpose. It can be downloaded from UIDAI official website https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in. Select the option “Do you want a masked Aadhaar” and proceed to download.” The previous notification also stated that the existence of any Aadhaar number can be verified at https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/verifyAadhaar. And to verify it offline, use the QR code scanner in the mAadhaar mobile application to scan the QR code on an e-Aadhaar, Aadhaar letter, or Aadhaar PVC card. Previously the UIDAI had also advised people to avoid downloading e-Aadhaar from a public computer at an internet café or kiosk. However, if this is done, all downloaded copies of e-Aadhaar should be permanently deleted from that computer. As per the notification Hotels and movie theatres were not permitted to collect photocopies of Aadhar cards. Only those organisations with a ‘user licence’ from the UIDAI were allowed to use Aadhar for establishing a person’s identity. The Aadhar card has a unique number linked to a person’s fingerprints, face, and eye scan and is designed to prevent theft and leakage in India’s welfare programmes. On the other hand, Naysayers are concerned that it will lead to the establishment of a surveillance state. The latest notification by the government says, “It is learnt that it was issued by them in the context of an attempt to misuse a photoshopped Aadhaar card. The release advised the people not to share photocopy of their Aadhaar with any organisation because it can be misused. Alternatively, a masked Aadhaar which displays only the last 4 digits of Aadhaar number, can be used.” The press release further added, “However, in view of the possibility of the misinterpretation of the Press Release, the same stands withdrawn with immediate effect.” The government says holders of UIDAI-issued Aadhaar cards are only advised to use and share their UIDAI Aadhaar numbers with caution. The Aadhaar Identity Authentication ecosystem has adequate features for protecting and safeguarding the Aadhaar holder’s identity and privacy. Nokia G21 review: Built and battery save the day

With triple rear cameras, a 50MP sensor, 5,050mAh battery (on paper), Nokia G21 sounds like a promising smartphone. But how does it perform? We spent a few days with the device and have shared all the pros and cons in our Nokia G21 review below, check it out:

Nokia G21 review: Design and display

It’s a good thing that we get to talk about the design of the Nokia G21 first. Even though the smartphone sports a plastic body, it comes with a sturdy build. For the price range, it also looks pretty good. The back panel of the device has a patterned texture that actually enhances the grip and ensures that the phone doesn’t catch any smudges. It houses the camera module that has three lenses and an LED flash, and besides this, there is ‘Nokia‘ branding right in the centre of the back. In contrast to the back panel, the edges of the Nokia G21 are not textured and the corners are rounded. While the right edge comes with Volume Rocker keys and the Power button, the left one has the Google Assistant button and the SIM tray. At the bottom, the Type-C port, speaker grill and microphone are placed, and the top edge houses the 3.5mm headphone jack and the secondary microphone. It is worth noticing that the Power button of the device also has the fingerprint scanner embedded on it. Nokia G21 is available in two colours – Nordic Blue and Dusk, and the one that we got for review was dressed in Blue. Nokia G21 2 Flip it over, and you will see the 6.5-inch screen of the smartphone, which is outlined by a not-exactly-very-thin bezel and an even thicker chin. There is a waterdrop-shaped notch in the middle of the top edge of the display to house the selfie camera of the phone. The earpiece of the device is concealed between the top edge and the screen and is barely visible. Coming to the 6.5-inch LCD, HD+ display of the Nokia G21 smartphone, it worked decently, but we expected something better than an HD+ resolution. Most other devices in this range do come with higher-resolution displays, so it isn’t like we are asking for a lot. Coming back to the screen of the Nokia G21, it comes with a refresh rate of 90Hz, which did make our usage seem smooth. The colours showcased on the screen of the device were accurate and they stayed consistent at different viewing angles. The brightness of the display was decent too, but sunlight readability was a problem. The images showcased could have been sharper too, and this in turn meant an average video-watching experience on the likes of YouTube. In a nutshell, we would say that while the design of Nokia G21 impressed us, we don’t think that the display is among the smartphone’s best qualities.

Nokia G21 review: Performance and Cameras

Before we begin talking about the performance of the Nokia G21, let’s take a minute to discuss its specifications. The smartphone is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core Unisoc T606 processor, clubbed with 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB internal storage. It can also hold a microSD card of up to 512GB. The device runs Android 11 and houses a 5,050mAh battery. For imaging duties, there is a 50MP primary camera, a 2MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor, while the front panel has an 8MP selfie camera. Now, coming to the performance, the Unisoc T606 processor does a good job with basic, day to day tasks. We opened and switched between multiple apps and tabs of Chrome, and never faced any lag or frame drops. Just don’t overdo the multitasking. Use it for listening to music and navigation simultaneously, but it’s best to not put two heavy tasks like navigation and gaming together. Nokia G21 3 Speaking of gaming, we played a number of games on the device, while lighter ones like Alto’s Odyssey ran well, our experience with heavy-graphic ones like Asphalt 9: Legends could have been better. The fingerprint scanner worked well and never failed to unlock our device. However, we faced one rather peculiar issue with our review unit – it took multiple attempts to read our SIM card. It went undetected by the phone the first 2-3 times we tried to put it on for some reason. The 5,050mAh battery of the smartphone was definitely among the plus points. It gave us two days of juice on a single charge with usage that involved gaming, browsing the internet, watching videos, an active Instagram account, clicking pictures and more. However, some tasks – like Zoom meetings and gaming – drained the battery sooner than others. With the charger in the box, it takes almost 3 hours to charge the device completely, which is painfully slow in our opinion. Nokia G21 1 Finally, let’s talk about the cameras of the Nokia G21. During the day, in well- areas, the smartphone manages to take some good images that have ample brightness and the colours seem accurate too. However, in some shots that we took, the sharpness, as well as the details, were not as good as they could be, especially with a 50MP primary camera onboard. It also takes a while to focus with the device’s camera, particularly if the object is in motion. In shots that we took in dimly lit areas, the quality of the image falls further and there was some visible noise in the pictures we took. The other two cameras also did an average job at best. Nokia G21 image sample The macro camera managed to take some decent shots exclusively in well-lit areas, but we cannot say the same about the depth sensor. The 8MP selfie camera did a good job too, but don’t expect too much from it.

Verdict

At a starting price of Rs 12,999, Nokia G21 makes a decent buy for first-time users and people graduating from feature phones. You can go for it if you are looking for a smartphone to do basic, everyday tasks with good battery life and sturdy built. If cameras or handling heavy usage are among your priorities, you should look at other options in the same range because there are plenty, else this one will serve you well.

Nokia G21 Pros

  • Lasting battery
  • Sturdy built

Nokia G21 Cons

  • Cameras could be better
  • Average performance

Oppo Enco Air2 Pro Review: Provides A Truly Immersive Audio Experience

One of the latest entries of Oppo into the world of audio is its Enco Air2 Pro true wireless earbuds. The TWS earphones are powered by 12.4mm titanised diaphragm drivers promising an enriching sound experience with deeper bass, wider sound field, and clearer vocals. Moreover, it comes equipped with dual microphones and has the support of active noise cancellation (ANC). The earbuds also come with touch control and offer a battery life of up to 28 hours together with its case. We tested the device thoroughly on multiple devices with many applications, from music to movies and video streaming to gaming. Here is the Oppo Enco Air2 Pro review with all its features.

Oppo Enco Air2 Pro Review: Design

Oppo Enco Air2 Pro Package The Oppo Enco Air2 Pro comes riding in a neat square package. Lifting the lid of the box, you would find its sleek pebble-shaped plastic case staring at you silently. The truly wireless earbuds come in two different colours, Grey and White. Out of which we were able to get our hands on the latter. Accompanying the earbuds comes a short USB-A to Type-C charging cable as well as a guide booklet.  Case front Picking up the glossy white-coloured bubble case in our hand, it feels quite light in weight and would fit easily into the pocket of your jeans. If you take a moment to observe its top carefully, it has a refractive translucent jelly lid. Right below the neckline of the lid lies a tiny LED indicator.  Case Bottom At the bottom lies a Type-C charging port, while at its back lies (gracefully) the Oppo brand engraving. The entire surface of the case is smooth to touch and seems fingerprint-resistant. Whatever minimal fingerprints attracted to it cannot be seen easily by the naked eye. Case Open Once you flip the lid open, its magnetic nature immediately comes to notice. The LED indicator turns green upon opening up the jelly lid and turns yellowish-orange when closed. When in pairing mode, the LED blinks in white colour. Inside the case sit the two TWS earbuds, fitted perfectly into their respective cavities. The ‘L’ for left and ‘R’ for right engravings, highlighted in grey over their small white bodies, are the first thing visible to you. The leg or the stem of the earbuds is also magnetic in nature so it automatically gets pulled back into its place without you having to put any force. All you need to do is just position the leg over its cavity and it snaps in.  Earbud spine At the back of each earbud on its spine lies its touch interface, which also comes in body colour, but is slightly translucent and hence, differentiable. At the bottom of the spine seem to lie the sensors of the earbuds, which help it in determining whether the earbuds are worn or not, so it can start or stop the audio accordingly. The tip of the earbud comes with a classic round-shaped silicone cover while the body between the top and the spine is of a slightly tilted spherical shape in order to fit exactly into our ears.  Overall, the design of the Oppo Enco Air2 Pro seems quite elegant and favourable for usage, especially during travel.  Read also: OnePlus Nord Buds review: Inexpensive resonance

Oppo Enco Air2 Pro Review: Performance

Elaborating further upon the Oppo Enco Air2 Pro specifications, the truly wireless noise cancelling earbuds come equipped with 12.4mm diaphragm drivers with titanium coatings for increased rigidity. The diaphragm drivers have a vibrating area of 89% larger than that of a typical 9mm driver, according to the company. Moreover, they have a frequency response range of 20Hz to 20kHz. The TWS earbuds are fitted with dual microphones, both of which support active noise cancelling (ANC) and AI noise-cancelling for phone calls. They also support Bluetooth v5.2 and are IP54 rated dust and water-resistant. Oppo Enco Air2 Pro Case Back The Enco Air2 Pro comes with a 43mAh battery in each earbud, which lasts up to seven hours with ANC and up to 5 hours without ANC, upon a single charge. Housing the earbuds come the charging case, which has a 440mAh battery. Overall, the device can last up to 28hrs when ANC is turned off and up to 20 hours when it is turned on.  The earbuds fit well into the ears. Some may complain that after wearing them for a while, the ears start to pain slightly. However, this issue may be tackled right away. That is why the brand provides 3 sizes for its silicone tips that are included within the package. So you might need to dig into the box and choose the size that is comfortable for your ears. Another point on the brighter side is that the earbuds have an ‘Instant Connection’ feature. As soon as you open the lid of the case, the earbuds automatically get connected with the paired device.  The touch interface also works pretty smoothly. Double-tapping on the back of either of the two earbuds will play the next track (while using music streaming applications), play the next episode (while watching TV shows on OTT platforms like Netflix), or forward to 10 seconds while streaming videos on Youtube.  In case you are pairing the earbuds for the first time with your smartphone or any other device, you just need to tap and hold on the back of both the earbuds for about 4 seconds, after which they enter the pairing mode. The earbuds have two audio modes, Noice Cancelation and Transparency. For switching between these two modes, you just have to tap and hold for a second or two on either of the two earbuds. Oppo Enco Air2 Pro Earbuds Speaking of the sound quality, the Enco Air2 Pro delivers its promise pretty effectively. The loudness and clarity of the audio are quite commendable while the bass is thumping. Turning up the volume a little over 50% takes you completely to musical heavens. The audio experience of the earbuds while streaming movies and TV shows on Netflix and videos on Youtube were also great.  Even the minute background noises playing in the videos were crystal clear. But what needs thorough appreciation is the Oppo Enco Air2 Pro’s active noise cancellation feature. When turned on, you will not be able to hear a person sitting at a two-arm distance from you. You would just notice their lips moving. Yes, the ANC is that good. However, on playing Asphalt 9 Legends to test the performance of the earbuds while gaming (when paired with a smartphone), there was a lag of about 1 to 2 seconds noticed, variable in nature. So, we will not fully recommend it for gaming. Another cool feature of the Oppo Enco Air2 Pro earbuds is that they support smart in-ear detection. This feature automatically pauses playback when you take them out of your ears and resumes playback when you put them back on. This works even when you take just one out of the two earbuds (since both have sensors). A noteworthy thing to mention here is that this in-ear detection system functions very well, as the sensors are highly sensitive in nature. Even if you move one earbud piece away from your ear ever so slightly, the audio will stop automatically without the delay of even a second.  Overall, the performance of the Oppo Enco Air2 Pro earbuds is delightful.  Read also: Vivo TWS 2 ANC and Vivo TWS 2e TWS earbuds launched in India

Verdict

To sum up, the Oppo Enco Air2 Pro TWS earbuds provide you with an enjoyable experience. They come nestled within a sleek designer case, whose compact size and lightweight structure makes it slide right into your pocket enhancing portability. Ensuring a truly immersive sound experience are its large-diaphragm drivers supported via its praiseworthy ANC mechanism. All its features make Oppo Enco Air2 Pro apt for usage when travelling. You may be navigating your way through the busy cities and noisy crowds, but would still be relaxed and enjoying your favourite tunes.  The earbuds might need a few tweaks for providing a better gaming audio experience, in terms of being more in sync with the in-game commands. It also may have a slight scope of improvement in its battery life. But all in all, it can be said that its pros weigh more than its cons. Hence, we would gladly recommend it at its price range.  The Oppo Enco Air2 Pro in India can be bought for Rs 3,499.

Oppo Enco Air2 Pro Pros

  • Elegant Design
  • Great ANC
  • Smart In-Ear Detection
  • Appreciable Sound Quality And Bass

How To Share Wi-Fi Passwords Using QR Codes On Android And iPhone? (2024)

Hasn’t each one of us crossed this situation at least once, wherein we were required to share our Wi-Fi passwords with our friends, family members, or guests at home? Now, most of us are guilty of keeping quirky passwords for our network connections, right? So either you awkwardly ask the next person to pass over their device so you can fill in the password directly (you know, to save yourself from the embarrassment of course), or dare to say it out loud and raise a few chuckles. But what if we told you that this hassle could be avoided altogether? Yes, a device can connect to a Wi-Fi network today by simply scanning its QR code. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to share Wi-Fi passwords using QR codes on Android and iPhone devices.

Share Wi-Fi Passwords Using QR Codes On Android
