Redmi K20 Pro, Redmi K20 India launch four weeks away, company teases

Last month, Xiaomi launched its Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 in China. Since then, the company has been teasing the devices’ launch in India and has even called the Redmi K20 Pro as the “world’s fastest phone”. Yesterday, we had reported that we learned from some industry insiders that the company will launch the two smartphones in India on July 18. Today, Xiaomi India Managing Director Manu Kumar Jain has revealed via a tweet that Redmi K20 and Redmi Pro will launch in four weeks.

He wrote, “One step at a time, one punch at a time, and one round at a time. Let’s do it, guys. Let’s show them how it’s done. 4 weeks to go.”

Although Jain did not confirm the release date with this tweet, we should mention that earlier this month he said that the handsets will be launched in the next six weeks and the timeline ends in mid-July. We should also point out that four weeks from today will end on July 18, which is actually the launch date that we reported about.

Redmi K20 Pro and Redmi K20 features and specifications:

Redmi K20 Pro is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 855 SoC, whereas the Redmi K20 houses Snapdragon 730 SoC. The phones come with up to 8GB RAM. Xiaomi has been comparing the Redmi K20 Pro with OnePlus 7 Pro because it has a similar pop-up selfie camera module and an in-display fingerprint sensor. The processor of the two devices is also the same.

Redmi K20 Pro sports a 6.39-inch full-HD+ (1080×2340 pixels) AMOLED display that comes with an in-display. The display features a fingerprint sensor. The device sports a triple rear camera setup that has a 48-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.75 lens, a 13-megapixel secondary sensor with a wide-angle lens, and an 8-megapixel tertiary sensor with an f/2.4 lens.

In addition to this, on the pop-up camera module, there is a 20-megapixel sensor for selfies and video chat. Apart from this, the handset houses a massive 4,000mAh battery that supports 27W fast charging.

 

On the other hand, Redmi K20 features a 6.39-inch full-HD+ (1080×2340 pixels) AMOLED display and is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 SoC instead of the Snapdragon 855 SoC that is present in its elder sibling. The device also sports a 48-megapixel camera that is backed by a Sony IMX582 sensor.

The pricing of the two smartphones in India is expected to be similar to their China pricing.

The air purifier is engineered for your personal space and since it comes with noise cancellation, you would not even feel disturbed if you keep it in the room where you are.

Dyson’s offering also comes with a built-in LCD screen which displays air flow speed, modes and filter life. The built-in reminders will show when your filter needs maintenance. The magnetised remote control lets you control the functioning of the machine.

The air purifier also comes with an intelligent light sensing system that can detect if space has become dark or bright. When the room gets dark, it automatically switches off/on the LCD screen so that users can get a peaceful sleep. You can also set the sleep timer so that the machine automatically turns off after a fixed interval ranging from 30 minutes to 8 hours.

Asus has finally launched its much-awaited 6Z smartphone in India today that starts at a price of Rs 31,990. On the same day, the predecessor of the Asus 6Z – ZenFone 5Z – has received a price cut in the country. Asus ZenFone 5Z has received a discount of Rs 4,000 in India, however, it should be noted that the revised pricing is only available on Flipkart.

To recall, Asus ZenFone 5Z was launched in India last year as the company’s flagship smartphone. The handset was directly competing with the likes of OnePlus 6 and Honor 10 back them. The device garnered appreciation for its powerful specifications and affordable pricing. At the time of launch, the handset held a price tag of Rs 29,999.

Some of the key highlights of the Asus ZenFone 5Z include a Snapdragon 845 SoC, up to 8GB of RAM, and a large display. Asus, after being told to by the Indian government, has renamed the Asus ZenFone 5Z to Asus 5Z.

Currently, the Asus ZenFone 5Z with 6GB RAM/128GB storage variant is selling at a discounted price of Rs 21,999. The 8GB RAM/ 256GB storage variant carries a price tag of Rs 25,999, down from Rs 27,999.

But it should be noted that it is not a permanent price cut and it is only valid till June 21.

Earlier, in March, the Asus ZenFone 5Z had received a permanent price cut after which it started selling for Rs 24,999 instead of Rs 29,999.

The Asus ZenFone 5Z sports a 6.2-inch Full-HD+ (1080 x 2246 pixels) Super IPS+ display that has an aspect ratio of 18.9:9. As mentioned above, the handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 SoC paired with Adreno 630GPU and has up to 8GB of RAM. It has up to 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage and can hold a microSD card of up to 2TB. The device packs a 3,300mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support.

On the imaging front, the Asus ZenFone 5Z features a dual-rear camera setup that comprises of a 12MP Sony IMX363 main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and an 8MP OmniVision 8856 wide-angle lens with an f/2.2 aperture. On the front, there is an 8MP selfie camera with fixed focus and OmniVision 8856 sensor.

Other features of the Asus ZenFone 5Z includes 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi , NFC, Bluetooth v5.0, FM radio, USB OTG, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, USB Type-C (Gen1) along with a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Keep in mind that even after you fill out the form and follow all the steps, you might not get your account verified as Instagram looks for certain requirements as far as verification is considered. Acer H7-seires 27-inch 4K Monitor Review: The ultimate 4K gaming and media monitor

Acer has been in the electronics and PC business for a long time and has made a name for itself with its products. Laptops, gaming laptops, PC accessories or monitors, Acer makes them all. And one of its latest products is the Acer H7-series monitor, which is a big, bezel-less piece of art with a great vibrant display to look at. Read on as we review the Acer H7-series 27-inch 4K monitor and find out all its pros and cons:

Design and Display

The design of the Acer H7 series 27-inch 4K monitor is pretty basic and advanced at the same time. The front of the monitor is dominated by the 27-inch (69 cm) UHD IPS display with almost non-existent side and top bezels. It has a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels and it is an HDR ready monitor. Other than that, the Acer H7-series monitor comes with Eye Protect and sRGB.

At the bottom, there is slightly thick bezel with the Acer branding on it and other than that, there is nothing on the front which makes it look minimalistic and clutter-free.

At the bottom of the display are the buttons (power and other controls) which can be used to control the display, sound, aspect ratio and other features of the monitor. The bottom of the screen also holds the blue power light which lights up as soon as it is connected.

There is nothing on the sides or the top, leaving it empty and since it has thin side bezels you can install a second monitor besides it and not feel the disturbance of the thick bezels. The stand of the monitor is easy to install as it comes with the base and the neck which connects with screws. Once both are connected they then can be setup under the monitor pretty easily.

All the ports are located at the back of the Acer H7-series monitor. Talking about the ports, there is an HDMI 2.0, a Display, a DVI, 2 USB 3.0, a USB Type-C and the power ports. There were power and HDMI cables provided with the Acer H7-series box so you don’t need to go looking for cables to connect with your smartphone or laptop or PC.

We reviewed the white version of the monitor and it was a beauty to look at, the back panel of the monitor has a shiny white smooth finish, which makes it look and feel premium.

Performance

Performance of the Acer H7-series 4K monitor is pretty impressive as it manages to handle all that is thrown at it. The Acer H7-series comes with 4ms response time which enhances the gaming experience on the monitor. Due to its fast response time the actions and scenes were smooth and the transactions rendered smoothly as well. It comes with a 16:9 aspect ratio with 1.07 billion colour support.

The Acer H7-series 4K monitor comes with AMD FreeSync technology so with the help of the PC’s GPU it can control the refresh rate of the display to give a smoother experience to the user while gaming, streaming movies or other things. And as mentioned above, the Acer H7-series comes with Ultra HD 4K resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels) display which makes watching YouTube videos and gaming in in this format a charm. And since it is an IPS display, its visibility range is also great. The 4K performance of the monitor was good but once we pushed 8K content we saw some jitters, frame drops and video issues. Since the monitor has 60Hz refresh rate, it makes it an ideal monitor for gaming.

Acer H7-seires 27-inch 4K Monitor

The Acer H7-series has a 100% sRGB Wide Color Gamut which makes the vibrant colour production, colour accuracy and colour space reproduction possible. As mentioned above, the Acer H7-series monitor comes with Flicker Free technology along with BlueLight filter thatonce activated blocks all the blue light emitting from the monitor. The thin tube is bright as it has 350nits of brightness so even in full lighting conditions the monitor didn’t lose any details and everything was clearly visible.

The Acer H7-series 4K monitor also comes with DTS sound technology and 2 speakers of 3W output power and needless to say, it is loud. The sound emitted from the monitor was crisp and clear, and you can easily watch movies and play games even without needing an external speaker. But the bass was somewhat absent from the sound the monitor emitted.

Talking about its dimensions, it is 61.27 x 43.87 cm on the front while its stand is of 20.24 cm. From the side, the Acer H7-series monitor is 21.72 (base) x 2.52 (mid) x 1.61 (top) cm thin. With the stand connected, the Acer H7 27-inch monitor weighs 4.80 kgs and without the stand it weighs 4.40 kgs.

Verdict

The Acer H7-series monitor comes with an impressive display and it performs well. It can handle long gaming sessions, movie or show streaming without breaking a sweat and it offers a vibrant, feature-rich and wide-angle experience to the user. It can be connected with smartphones, laptops and PCs as well. But the only downside of the Acer H7-series is its price, which is just shy of Rs 50,000. So, if you are a gamer or a media addict and want one of the best performing and feature rich 4K monitors then you can no doubt go for it.

However, earlier today, the service suffered an outage for nearly three hours. It has been reported that the outage was spread all across the glove.

When the users of Google Calendar tried accessing the platform, they were shows the 404 error on their screens. Reports suggest that the service was down from 10am ET till around 12:40pm ET. The company soon updated the dashboard of the platform with a message that read, “Issues should be resolved for everyone within the next hour.”

About the global outage of Google Calendar, the company has issued a message which reads, “We expect to resolve the problem affecting a majority of users of Google Calendar at 6/18/19, 1:40 PM. Please note that this time frame is an estimate and may change.”

It is worth mentioning that this outage happened after Google’s G Suite posted a promotion tweet talking about the Calendar’s simpler scheduling ability.

At the time of writing this story, Google Calendar had been restored back to normal. It should be noted that other services of the company like Gmail, YouTube and Maps weren’t affected in the outage.

However, it is worth pointing out that Google Hangouts Meet reportedly had some difficulties following the Calendar’s outage.

Earlier this month, a number of Google services had suffered major global outage. These included Discord, Nest and even Snapchat as users from around the world complained about not being able to access them. The outage reportedly happened because of the problems within the company’s Cloud services. The technology giant eventually blamed the “high levels of network congestion in the eastern USA” for its outage and issues.

Before June, the services of Google had suffered a global outage in March this year that affected services like YouTube, Gmail, and Google Drive. Even then, the outage lasted for around three hours before the company fixed its platforms with an update on G Suite Status Dashboard.

However, Google is not the only one facing these problem. Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp have also suffered a major outage this year. Surprisingly, Apple too had suffered a global outage of its iCloud services in March 15, when it was down for about 4 hours.

Vivo Z1 Pro full specifications leaked ahead of its launch

Vivo is planning to launch its next smartphone – Vivo Z1 Pro – in the Indian market in the coming days. Till now, some of the details of the handset have been leaked online, and the company has also teased about the upcoming device on its social media accounts and Flipkart as well.

Now, prior to the launch of the Vivo Z1 Pro, the entire list of specifications of the smartphone has been leaked online. The company earlier confirmed that the handset will be powered by the Snapdragon 712 SoC and will sport a 32MP in display selfie camera. According to the leaks, the device will come with a large 6.53-inch Full HD+ display and it will come in three variants. Here’s a look at the leaked specifications of the upcoming Vivo Z1 Pro:

Vivo Z1 Pro specifications and features (expected)

Vivo Z1 Pro will reportedly sport a 6.53-inch Full-HD+ LCD display and will run Android 9 Pie skinned with FunTouch OS 9.0. The smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 712 SoC paired with 4GB/6GB of RAM. It will come in three variants – 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage, 6GB RAM/ 64GB storage and 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage. All the three variants of the handset will come with support for a microSD card. The upcoming Vivo Z1 Pro will reportedly pack a large 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. It is also said to come with a Micro-USB port instead of a USB Type-C port.

On the imaging front, the Vivo Z1 Pro is said to feature a triple rear camera setup that will comprise of a 16MP main sensor, an 8MP secondary lens and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, there will be a 32MP selfie camera.

Talking about the design and other features of the Z1 Pro, the smartphone sports slim bezels on the sides, but the bottom has a slightly thicker chin. The headphone jack, micro-USB port along with the speaker grille will be placed at the bottom of the device. On the other hand, the power button and the volume rocker keys are placed on the right side of the handset. Other than that, there is also an extra button on the left side of the smartphone that will most probably be a dedicated Google Assistant or Vivo Jovi button.

Vivo Z1 Pro is expected to be launched in India in the coming day, however, the company hadn’t revealed about the availability and the price of the smartphone yet.

Nintendo has finally announced when it will start rolling out Dr. Mario World game. The company has stated that the game will launch on iOS and Android on July 10.

Previously this year, Nintendo had confirmed that it will get its Dr. Mario World game to smartphones. However, the company had not said much about when exactly the game will be made available.

But now, Nintendo has finally broken its silence on when the game will be available. In addition to this, the company has also confirmed that the mobile game will be launched on iOS as well as Android devices.

To make the announcement, Nintendo took to its official Twitter account and said, “#DrMarioWorld launches for iOS and Android devices on 7/10! Follow the official @DrMarioWorld_EN account to stay up to date on all the latest news, and pre-register today!”

We should mention that Dr. Mario World is a free to play game in which the players have to cross different levels. The objective of the players will be to destroy the viruses by pairing up the coloured capsules together. Furthermore, these coloured capsules will be limited in number. Once all the viruses on the page are eliminated, players will be able to go to the next level. Somehow, the game really reminds us of Candy Crush, in which one has to pair up similar looking candies to get ahead.

As we mentioned earlier, it is free to play game but of course, it has some in-app purchases. Whenever the player runs out of stamina, he will either have the option of waiting for more or just buying ‘diamonds’ to replenish it. Players will also be able to buy a skilled doctor for the same. The players can also exchange extra stamina by sending or receiving hearts to other players. This too reminds us a lot of Candy Crush lives.

Nintendo has also unveiled the dedicated website of the Dr. Mario World, that is flooded with videos on the gameplay.

At the recently concluded E3 gaming conference, Nintendo announced a number of games that will be coming to its Switch gaming console this year.  Among these are the Pokemon Sword and Shield game. The company has said that in case you have a Pokeball Plus lying around, it will come handy for playing the upcoming game. Motorola’s upcoming smartphone – Motorola One Action – has been leaked multiple times now, but the company hasn’t revealed the launch date of the handset yet. However, the Lenovo-owned smartphone maker is also reportedly working on Motorola One Pro. Although the company is maintaining its silence on the two upcoming devices, some supposed press renders of the latter have surfaced online.

In the renders, it can be seen that Motorola One Pro smartphone will feature a quad-rear camera setup. If the renders are accurate then upcoming device could be the first smartphone from the company to come with four cameras on its back panel.

Looking at the leaked renders of the Motorola One Pro, we can say that the smartphone has a larger camera module as compares to other handsets from the company. Other than the camera module with four sensors, the back panel of the upcoming offering also has the Motorola branding on it.

The renders hints that the Motorola One Pro is likely to come with a 48MP primary camera and it is said to include dual optical stabilization. There is also chance that the Moto dimple have the fingerprint scanner embedded in it – something that we have seen in a number of other devices from the company. Another possibility is that the company will add an in-display fingerprint scanner on the Moto One Pro, keeping up with the trend that most other companies have adopted.

Other than this, the renders also reveal that the Motorola One Pro will be available in a variety of colours – Dark Purple, Dark Bronze and Black. The display of the smartphone houses a waterdrop-shaped notch that will house the selfie camera of the handset. According to the renders, the Motorola One Pro will come with slim bezels on the sides and the top.

However, the bottom of the device holds a slightly bigger chin. The smartphone’s power and volume rocker can be seen on the right side while at the bottom, there is the headphone jack along with a USB Type-C jack along with a microphone.

According to an earlier leak, the Motorola One Pro will reportedly sport a 6.2-inch display and its SIM tray will be placed on the top. Other than the specifications mentioned above, no other details of the Motorola One Pro are available as of now. Even the company is yet to reveal the release date of the upcoming smartphone.

Taiwanese technology company Asus has today launched its 6Z smartphone in India. The handset was launched globally last month, but in other regions of the world, it is known as Asus Zenfone 6. The company has rebranded it for its India launch after a court ruling said that Asus could not launch any products in India with ‘Zen’ or ‘Zenfone branding. The device is the successor of Asus Zenfone 5Z, that was the flagship device of the company in 2018.

The key highlights of the Asus 6Z smartphone include a 48MP primary sensor, a rotating camera sensor and a 5,000mAh battery. Here are all the price details and specifications of the newly-launched device that you should know about:

Asus 6Z price in India

Asus Zenfone is available in three storage variants in India. While the 6GB RAM/64GB storage model costs Rs 31,999, the 6GB RAM/128GB storage version and the 8GB RAM/256GB storage variant are priced at Rs 34,999 and Rs 39,999 respectively. The handset will be available for purchase via Flipkart starting June 26.

The e-commerce website will be providing Asus 6Z customers with its Complete Mobile Protection Plan at just Rs 99. Otherwise, the plan costs Rs 3,999.

At the given price, Asus 6Z smartphone competes directly with the likes of the recently launched OnePlus 7. It inevitably also competes with Samsung Galaxy A80 that also comes with a rotating camera setup, but then, we don’t know which among the two is a better value for money device as Samsung’s offering has not been launched in India yet.

Asus ZenFone 6 features and specifications

The newly-launched Asus 6Z smartphone runs Android 9.0 Pie that has the company’s own Zen UI 6 baked on top. The company has promised that it will be rolling out the Android Q and Android R operating system updates to the handset too. The device features a 6.4-inch full-HD+ IPS display that has a screen-to-body ratio of 92% and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The screen of the smartphone also has 600 nits peak brightness and a colour gamut of 100 DCI-P3.

Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 SoC, Asus 6Z comes with Adreno 640 GPU and has up to 8GB of RAM. The handset has 256GB of internal storage and for more storage, users can install a microSD card of up to 2TB.

For imaging duties, there is a rotating camera module that comes with a 48MP primary sensor that has an f/1.79 aperture paired with a 13MP ultra-wide-angle sensor.

The device houses a massive 5,000mAh battery and it comes with support for Quick Charge 4.0. It also comes with dual speakers and dual smart amplifiers. For connectivity, there is USB Type-C, NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and GPS.

Popular web browser Mozilla Firefox recently found a zero-day vulnerability in its platform. After discovering the vulnerability, Mozilla has asked all the Firefox users to update their web browser to the latest version immediately. The zero-day vulnerability is currently found in the desktop version of the application that includes the Firefox ESR. We should mention that this is used by the system administrators who control the desktop environments in schools and other office buildings. They also control the desktop environments in governments offices and other organizations as well.

The zero-day vulnerability is a bug inside the Mozilla Firefox that is described as a “type confusion vulnerability”. It has been given a critical impact level and it allows the outside users to remotely access and execute the codes on the user’s PC without their permission.

Mozilla has spoked about the new bug found in the browser on its security advisory page and asked the users to update their Firefox to the latest version as soon as they can. According to the company, “A type confusion vulnerability can occur when manipulating JavaScript objects due to issues in Array.pop. This can allow for an exploitable crash.”

Currently, Mozilla hasn’t revealed the number of users who have affected by this vulnerability but the company did say that there were already a number of instances of the “targeted attacks in the wild abusing this flaw.” So, the users should update their browser to the latest version – Mozilla Firefox 67.0.3 and the Mozilla Firefox ESR 60.7.1.

But it is commendable that the company has found the vulnerability and asked the users to take the safety measures so that they are not prone to any cyber attacks. In addition to this, Mozilla is already pushing out patches and fixes for Firefox with the security update. The company also has the ability to roll out the security update automatically that can update Firefox for the user as soon as he restarts his browser.

Prior to this, the company had rolled out new security tools for the Mozilla Firefox web browser. These security tools are capable of preventing some major security and privacy issues of crypto jacking and fingerprinting. These security changes were brought in April 2019, and they included protection against crypto jacking. For those unaware, cryto-jacking uses the user’s PC hardware and electricity to mine crypto currency even without their permission. This process is not just harmful for the PC’s health but it slows down its performance.

Samsung had launched its Galaxy M40 in India last week. Samsung Galaxy M40 comes with youth-centric features and design. The first sale of the newly launched Samsung device took place yesterday. Now, the South-Korean technology giant has revealed that the next sale of the handset is going to take place on June 20.

The announcement was made by the company from their social media accounts on Tuesday. Some of the highlights of the Samsung Galaxy M40 is its hole-punch camera setup, triple-rear camera at the back, a Snapdragon CPU and Screen Sound technology.

Samsung Galaxy M40 price in India, sale offers

Samsung Galaxy M40 holds a price tag of Rs 19,990 for the lone 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant. It comes in two colour options – Seawater Blue and Midnight Blue.

The device will go on its second sale on June 20 from 12pm (noon) onwards. The sale will take place on Amazon India along with Samsung Online Store.

Sale offers on the Samsung Galaxy M40 include up to Rs 1,500 instant discount on the purchase made from ICICI Bank Card users. The customers will also get double data benefits from Reliance Jio if they recharge via Rs 198 or Rs 299 prepaid plans.

Vodafone and Idea subscribers will also be getting additional 500MB free data every day for up to 18 months. Other than this, Airtel is offering 100% additional data for a period of 10 months for the customers of the Samsung Galaxy M40. The customers will also get 4GB of data every day if they recharge using Rs 249 prepaid plan along with an additional 560GB of data for 10 months. However, if users recharge using the Rs 249 plan, they will receive 6GB of data every day with 840GB of additional data for 10 months.

Fortnite’s new update v9.30 is rolling out now: Chug Splash, Solid Gold Squads and more added

Epic Games’ Fortnite has received update despite all the hate it is currently getting on the internet. The new update has the version number v9.30 and it gets lots of changes, improvements and fixes to the game.  The most notable change among these is the Chug Splash addition, that is a new item which can be used by the players to heal their teammates. The players would require to throw a health potion container at their teammates if they wish to save them. However, the feature works like a double edged sword as it will also heal any enemies in the area if they happen to be in the working radius of Chug Splash.

Other than the Chug Radius, the new update also gets the Sniper Shootout duos and three-person squad battles called Trios to the game. The new additions in game modes have been put to the Limited Time Mode route. Other than this, new items for the Fortnite Creative and Save the World modes of the game have also been added.

As mentioned above, the most notable change that is coming with the new update is Chug Splash. It is a health potion that you can throw at your teammates to save them during a match. However, it should be noted that the Chug Splash doesn’t work as bandages and it can not be used to heal just one person. Once it lands, it creates an activity radius, and the players inside it will receive 20 health points each. However, if their health is full completely then they will receive 20 armour health points. We should mention that this means that if your enemy is trying to kill a teammate and you throw a Chug Splash, your teammate will recover but your enemy will receive the extra points.

It can be found in the stacks of two cylinders from the Floor Loot Chests, Vending Machines, Supply Drops as well as Llamas.

Other than this, two new modes have been added to the game with new update. There is the addition of Solid Gold Squads, Trios (a three-person squad battle royale mode) and a Sniper Shootout Duos. All the new modes have been added to LTM or Limited Time Mode in Fortnite.

Another new Prop-O-Matic element has also been added to the Fortnite Creative. With this, the players can transform into any prop to hide from their enemies and opponents. They can also create their own prop discovery game.

Two new islands named Wasteland and Caldera have also been added to the new update of Fortnite. Apart from this, the new update of Fortnite has also got changes in weapon characteristics and new Storm Shield Endurance mode that can be found in the Fortnite Save the World mode.

Asus 6Z with rotating camera module to launch in India today: Live stream details, expected price and more

Taiwanese technology company Asus is all set to launch its 6Z smartphone in India today. Asus 6Z has been launched globally already, however, it is known as Asus Zenfone 6 in other parts of the world. The company has changed the name of the handset for India only. The key highlight of the device is, of course, its rotating camera module that lets users click selfies using the primary cameras. It is a lot like the one that we saw on Samsung Galaxy A80, which will also be making its way to India soon.

Asus 6Z price (expected)

Globally, Asus 6Z smartphone is available in three storage variants – 6GB RAM/64GB storage, 6GB RAM/128GB storage and 8GB RAM/256GB storage. The base model costs EUR 499, the 128GB storage variant is priced at EUR 559 and the top-end version bears a price tag of EUR 599. The Asus 6Z handset is available in Midnight Black and Twilight Silver colour options. On conversion, the pricing of the device can be seen to start at approximately Rs 38,852 and goes up to around Rs 46,638. In India too, the price range of Asus 6Z is expected to be the same.

Asus 6Z specifications

Asus 6Z handset runs Android 9.0 Pie with the company’s own Zen UI 6 on top and it is promised to get upgrades to Android Q and Android R. The new offering by Asus sports a 6.4-inch full-HD+ IPS display that has an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and a colour gamut of 100 DCI-P3.

The device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC and it comes with up to 8GB of RAM and Adreno 640 GPU. Asus 6Z smartphone has up to 256GB of internal storage and it has support for microSD cards of up to 2TB.

For imaging duties, the smartphone sports a dual rear camera setup that consists of a 48MP primary sensor clubbed with a 13MP ultra-wide-angle sensor. Asus 6Z smartphone comes with a massive 5,000mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 4.0.

It is also equipped with dual speakers and dual smart amplifiers. The connectivity options of the device include USB Type-C, NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and GPS.

The launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 is months away, but the leaks and rumours about the handset have been surfacing online as we get closer to the official launch.  The closer we get to the launch of the device, the reports about the smartphones seem more and more legit. While we have already seen the leaks and renders of the handset, now a silicone case has surfaced online that allegedly is for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Pro and the Galaxy Note 10. The case gives us a fair idea about what the smartphone will be in terms of the build and size. It is also the first solid evidence of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 10 handset. Looking at the case, it is clear that the camera placement on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 will be vertical. It is worth mentioning that this is in-line with what the earlier renders suggested.

The images of the case of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 had been tweeted by the tipster named Sudhansu Ambhore (@Sudhansu1414). According to the tweet, the silicone case belongs to the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and the Galaxy Note 10 Pro. The tipster also claimed that these were the “real life” cases of the upcoming smartphones but other than this, he didn’t share any additional details.

Looking at the cases, we see a difference in the size of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and the Galaxy Note 10 Pro. There is also a slight difference in the rear camera placement of the smartphones. The regular Samsung Galaxy Note 10 had a single circular cutout for the LED flash and on the other hand, for Galaxy Note 10 Pro, the cutout seems to be a longer and pill-shaped. This could mean that the Pro variant of the Galaxy Note 10 might come with other sensors such as the heart-rate sensor or the laser sensor.

Both the case layout and cutout also suggest that the Bixby button is missing from the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 10 smartphones. However, there is another little bump in the case at the bottom left side that could be a dedicated camera button. It may also be a repositioned Bixby button.

Furthermore, we can see that there are two cutouts at the top that are claimed to be for the IR blaster and the microphone. This time, it looks like Samsung is finally removing the headphone jack from its smartphone. On the bottom of the case, we see a cutout for the S Pen, a speaker grille and the USB Type-C port along with the microphone.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10 to launch on August 7: Report

Technology giant Google may have broken the norm by revealing the new design of its upcoming flagship Pixel 4 months ahead of its launch. However, other companies haven’t as yet warmed up to the idea yet. Samsung is definitely among them as it is being very secretive about its Galaxy Note 10 handset. But then, reports and rumours have been pouring about it for months now. Now, a report has surfaced online that claims that Samsung Galaxy Note 10 will launch on August 7 in New York City. The first week of August is usually the time when the South Korean technology company unveils its Galaxy Note phablets, so this seems legit.

The report about the launch date of Samsung Galaxy Note 10 first surfaced on CNET and it quoted people familiar with the matter. We should mention that Samsung usually shows off its new phone technology with its Note phablet. This year, the company is expected to launch the handset in two different screen sizes and one among these will be a 5G-enabled device. Neither among the two will come with a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Leaked renders of Samsung Galaxy Note 10 have also surfaced on Pricebaba (in collaboration with @Onleaks) that show that the company will be eliminating the top and bottom bezels completely. The smartphone’s hole-punch selfie camera can also be seen in the middle of the top of the screen. According to reports, the bigger screen variant will sport a 6.75-inch display, while the smaller screen variant will be 6.3-inches in size diagonally. The rear panel will reportedly have three vertically stacked camera sensors.

Coming back to CNET’s report, it says that Samsung will be using Barclays Center in Brooklyn to host the event. The report has also mentioned that Samsung plans to make the Unpacked event “flashy” this year.

However, the real curiosity right now is not about the Galaxy Note 10, but about Samsung Galaxy Fold. Will the company use the event to relaunch the device? Or will it be cancelled completely? As of now, various reports claim that the handset will not start shipping until after Galaxy Note 10.

Recently, a report also claimed that Samsung Galaxy Fold’s new launch date will be sometime in July. However, the company denied this. With that, we clearly knew that we would have to wait longer to get out hands on the Galaxy Fold handset. But then, it’s better that Samsung fixes all the issues in it before it relaunches it even if that takes longer.

WhatsApp and Startup India announce winners of their ‘Grand Challenge’

WhatsApp and Invest India have today announced the winners of the ‘Startup India – WhatsApp Grand Challenge’. The companies have announced that five startups have been awarded a total grant worth $250,000 or approximately Rs 35 Lakhs each. The five startups that have received the prize money include MedCords, Melzo, Javis, Gramophone, and MinionLabs.

For those unaware, the ‘Startup India – WhatsApp Grand Challenge’ was started earlier this year and it was meant to inspire entrepreneurs to develop solutions that have a socio-economic impact on the Indian economy. More than 1,700 entries were received for the challenge from across the country. It is also worth mentioning that around 70% of the applications received were from startups that were less than 3 months old. This shows how more and more people are switching to do business in the country.

These entries were then evaluated on the basis of their innovative thinking, the scale of impact, and ability of solving real problems that are faced by the people of the country. Ten entries were then shortlisted and were given a chance to pitch ideas to a mix of venture capitalists and entrepreneur including Shailesh Lakhani of Sequoia Capital, Vani Kola of Kalaari Capital, Deep Kalra of MakeMyTrip, Harsha Kumar of Lightspeed Ventures, and Abhijit Bose of WhatsApp.

Speaking about it, Mr Ramesh Abhishek, Secretary DPIIT, Government of India said, “The Indian startup ecosystem has undergone a dynamic transformation in the last few years, with the addition of many successful unicorns and high growth in venture funding. We are constantly working to strengthen the ecosystem to support our startups by simplifying regulations, building infrastructure, and establishing meaningful partnerships. Congratulations to the winners of the Startup India WhatsApp Grand Challenge and good luck to them for driving the country’s economic growth.”

“India has proven to propel highly innovative ideas that are making a significant impact to society and the economy, said Mr. Abhijit Bose, Head of WhatsApp India. We at WhatsApp are proud to have a role in helping the next generation of innovators use technology to help improve lives in India and around the world.   • MedCords is using technology to bring affordable access to quality healthcare in rural and semi-urban areas. Their usage is spread across 2,000 villages.
  • Melzo is an affordable VR content platform, that enables the masses to consume content easily on low-end devices. The platform caters to over 140+ brands and SMEs globally.
  • Javis is a WhatsApp-based conversational AI platform that connects the right people with the right information to get business done quickly. The platform receives an average of 3-4 individual queries on a daily basis, and currently has 1500 active users.
  • Gramophone is an agri-tech platform providing agronomic intelligence to farmers, and it aims to be a one-stop-shop for all agricultural input needs.
  • MinionLabs helps businesses in reducing electricity costs and leveraging a machine learning approach. It is also useful in improving productivity by providing real-time electricity consumption insights.

OnePlus 7 Pro 5G starts receiving the latest OxygenOS version 9.5.4 update

Last month, OnePlus announced its first 5G smartphone – OnePlus 7 Pro 5G – in the UK. Now the company has rolled out the latest OxygenOS 9.5.4 update for OnePlus 7 Pro 5G. Currently, the new update is being rolled out in an incremental manner and those who have not received it will be notified very soon.

OnePlus 7 Pro 5G edition’s OxygenOS update has resolved the issue of settings of DC dimming and has also improved the touch sensitivity for the screen. Double Tap to Wake and Ambient Display have also been improved. The OxygenOS update also includes general bug fixes and some other improvements.

Earlier, there was a problem with the pop-up camera of the smartphone. The camera was opening whenever the device got an incoming call, even when the screen was locked. The latest update has fixed this problem. The device was also facing an issue with the lock screen where the fingerprint animation stayed on the screen even after unlocking it successfully. However, now, this issue has been fixed as well. You can update the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G by going to Settings Menu and then to the Update option.

The company has rolled out the OxygenOS 9.5.4 in an incremental manner. Right now, it will reach a small percentage of users in the beginning, and if the update does not have any bugs, a broader rollout will follow.

To recall, OnePlus 7 Pro was launched by the Chinese smartphone company recently in India in three colour variants – Mirror Grey, Nebula Blue, and Almond.

OnePlus 7 Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 SoC and the device includes Fluid AMOLED display that has a refresh rate of 90Hz.  OnePlus 7 Pro comes with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. The handset houses a 4000mah battery and comes with a triple rear camera setup that has a 48MP primary sensor. In India the device is available three in storage options – 6GB RAM/128GB storage, 8GB RAM/ 256GB storage and 12GB RAM/ 256GB storage. While the base model has been priced at Rs 48,999, 8GB RAM variant costs at Rs 52,999 and the 12GB variant bears a price tag of Rs 57,999. Tthe 6GB RAM model of OnePlus 7 Pro is available in single colour Mirror Grey, the 8GB RAM variant can be bought in Almond, and Mirror Grey colours while the 12GB RAM one can be picked up in Nebula Blue.
