OnePlus 8T confirmed to have a 4,500mAh battery with Warp Charge 65 support

As the launch date for OnePlus 8T is inching closer the momentum of the rumour mills, leaks and reports have become fast. So is the company revealing the information about its upcoming smartphone just before the launch. Recently the company’ CEO revealed display details of the OnePlus 8T and now he has further revealed a 4,500mAh battery and support for Warp Charge 65.

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau via its community forum has spilt the beans on the OnePlus 8T battery capacity as well as its charging capabilities. According to Lau the smartphone will come with a 4,500mAh battery and support Warp Charge 65.

His post says, “After shedding some light on the OnePlus 8T’s flat 120Hz Fluid Display last Tuesday, today, I’m thrilled to share more about an exciting new technology that will make its debut on the upcoming flagship – Warp Charge 65.”

This is the second reveal from the company’s CEO after he revealed that the upcoming device will come with a flat 120Hz Fluid Display. As per the CEO, the smartphone will be capable of charging a 4500mAh battery fully in 39 minutes, and almost 58% in just 15 minutes. In addition to this, Lau has further revealed that the OnePlus 8T’s 4500mAh large battery capacity can deliver a day’s power in 15 minutes. In addition to this, it will be featuring a dual-end Type-C port design to offer support for up to 45W PD fast charge. Means the device brings compatibility and ability to charge multiple supporting devices from your OnePlus Buds to even your laptop. The charger is also backward compatible with our previous charging protocols, meaning you can still enjoy the same speeds you’re used to while charging any OnePlus device.

Moreover, the smartphone comes integrated with an additional encryption chip to the charger and cable and 12 temperature sensors in the phone to allow OnePlus devices to charge intelligently and efficiently in different situations. Lau further said that OnePlus 8T has been included with a new heat dissipation system to keep the phone cool.

In his earlier post, Lau revealed a 6.55-inch display similar to its siblings. He confirmed a Fluid AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz which is an upgrade over its predecessor OnePlus 8.

In addition to this, it has been implemented as many as 142 optimizations in the new OxygenOS 11 so far to give users the best fast and smooth experience possible. The device has also gone through a demanding colour calibration process. With a Just Noticeable Colour Difference (JNCD) of around 0.3, every detail appears natural and true-to-life.

“Furthermore with 100% DCI-P3, the colour space favoured by the film industry, the OnePlus 8T can display more colours than ordinary display panels. This provides a richer, more accurate colour expression, helping to earn an overall A+ display rating from DisplayMate. With its FHD+ 2.5D flexible display and HDR10+ standard, you’ll have an immersive viewing experience whether it is watching HD videos, swiping through photos or playing games.”

Samsung unveils new 5G mmWave small cell to enhance indoor experience

Samsung’s new 5G indoor small cell will help provide seamless and enhanced 5G experiences to users in indoor environments known as Link Cell. According to Samsung, this technology delivers 5G-powered applications within enterprises, including manufacturing or distribution facilities, corporate offices, and entertainment or public venues (such as shopping centers, stadiums, or hotels).

Mind you! Link Cell is among the first commercial products available globally that provides wireless operators with a mmWave indoor small cell. It gives wireless operators a way to extend 5G service—with its high throughput and low latency capabilities—into businesses and venues.

Link Cell offers fast and easy indoor installation; it can be discretely placed on walls or ceilings, similar to a Wi-Fi access point while minimizing noise through fanless convection cooling. Designed to self-organize, Link Cell will adjust for optimal RF performance, allowing mobile applications to seamlessly operate within a facility or—as applications transition from a macro 5G network outside to the in-building network—maintain high-quality communications continuity. Link Cell is available now for wireless operators to purchase for use in commercial rollouts.

In order to extend the footprint of its 5G Ultra Wideband network, Verizon will be the first US wireless operator to commercially deploy Samsung’s Link Cell. This marks a new phase in delivering enterprise private 5G networks and advancing next-generation cellular technology use cases and applications. Verizon recently announced lab trials of 5G in-building solutions, which used Samsung Link.

“Verizon continues to rapidly advance our 5G deployment, and the addition of indoor cell sites will extend the availability of the fastest 5G service in the U.S. This is a key step in providing industry-changing, scalable, latency-sensitive, robust 5G solutions for enterprises,” said Adam Koeppe, Senior Vice President of Technology Planning and Development at Verizon.

The first version of Samsung’s Link Cell will support 28GHz and has the capability to combine four 100MHz bandwidth of frequencies, offering high capacity and ultra-fast download speeds. Moreover, it brings together radio, antenna, and digital unit into one compact box, and is less than 4 liters in volume, one of the smallest in the industry.

“Today, we are excited to unveil Samsung Link for wireless operators to expand the capabilities of 5G networks and seamlessly link together outdoor and indoor 5G experiences,” said Jaeho Jeon, Executive Vice President and Head of R&D, Networks Business at Samsung Electronics. “As one of the first commercial 5G mmWave indoor small cells, Link Cell will enable wireless operators and enterprises to bring 5G services to various offices, facilities and venue locations.”

Samsung’s Link Cell features the Qualcomm 5G RAN platform, which builds on the collaboration between Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., and Samsung. The Link Cell integrates antennas, radio, and baseband processing functionality into a discrete enterprise form-factor.

As we are inching closer to the much-anticipated launch of the Apple iPhone 12 series, the news is rife that the Cupertino-based tech giant is likely to lift curtains off its first iPhone with a mini moniker known as the iPhone 12 mini. This small variant will be rolled out along with “iPhone 12,” “iPhone 12 Pro,” and “iPhone 12 Pro Max”.

According to MacRumors, this moniker would be similar to the one that appears on the mini version of Mac, iPod and iPad. Mind you! Apple ‌iPhone 12‌ mini would be 5.4-inches in size as against the 5.4-inches iPhone 11 Pro that was launched last year.

Recently, a tipster on Twitter by name of DuanRui has shared a picture of Silicone Case Stickers for the iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12/12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max that originate from Apple’s Distribution International Ltd, Ireland. The sticker further stated that these cases are designed in California and made in China. It is worth noting that the color for all three Silicone cases is black.

Recently, a tipster had also showcased a video of the expected 6.1-inch back panel that revealed the iPhone 12 Pro will come fitted with new LiDAR sensor placement. In a video Twitter, a tipster using the screen name of EverythingApplePro showcased that the back panel will comprise of LiDAR sensor placement, flat sides, smart connector, and various cutouts. Moreover, one gets to see the designated space that fits the wireless charger. If rumours are to be believed, Apple’s upcoming iPhone 12 is somewhat in line with the iPhone 5 and its predecessor. However, there is a change in the position of the SIM-card tray as the iPhone 12 has it on its right panel. As far as the camera is concerned, it is likely that this handset would carry a triple-camera module that’s in line with the already available Apple iPhone 11 series.

Apart from this, another popular leakster Jon Prosser shared that the mass production of Apple iPhone 12 models started. According to Prosser, the 120Hz refresh rate display model (codenamed d6x) didn’t go for production. Therefore, there are high chances that the upcoming handsets could offer 60Hz or 90Hz refresh rate displays.

Earlier, Apple had also started sending surveys to the iPhone users in order to enquire how they have been using the USB charger that comes along with the device. The clear reason behind this movie still unknown. However, the news is rife that the Cupertino-based tech company is planning to exclude the USB charger and EarPods in the box while rolling out Apple iPhone 12 later this year.

According to a 9To5Mac report: In the survey, users were questioned on what they did with their previous USB charger after bringing home the new handset. Apple is sending across this survey to those who recently bought a new iPhone.

The report further revealed that Apple clarified that its survey is about the USB power adapter and not related to the Lightning cable. The USB charger is used for charging using a wall outlet. You can plug the charger into an iPhone with a separate charging cable.

A Twitter user Thorzinho @bedabb revealed that he had bought an iPhone 11 this month and received the survey data Apple and he was intrigued by this question, “What did you do with the USB Power Adapter that came in the box with the iPhone 7 Plus that you replaced?”

The USB Power Adapter is used for charging from a wall outlet, and you connect the adapter to an iPhone with a separate charging cable.

Samsung India has announced the launch of its latest 5-star rated Washing Machines in the country which includes 10Kg Front Load Washing Machines and Front Load Washer Dryer models which have Samsung’s latest Q-Rator technology alongside 7-kg Washer Dryer Front Load machine its first in this segment.

Mr. Raju Pullan, Senior Vice President, Consumer Electronics Business, Samsung India said, “As a consumer-centric brand, we at Samsung have always kept innovation at the forefront that caters to the needs of our customers. The new artificial intelligence-powered Washing Machines with the Q-Rator technology make laundry planning and its entire course convenient and seamless. Laundry becomes convenient as users can control the washing cycle and schedule via a mobile app, compatible with both Android and iOS. We have observed an increase in demand for innovative and sustainable technologies in household durables and we are confident that the new range will help us further strengthen our market leadership,”

Samsung has introduced a 10 kg Fully Automatic Front Load model that comes with Hygiene Steam technology that is capable of removing ingrained dirt and 99.9% of bacteria along with inactive allergens. The washing machine also features Samsung’s innovative AddWash that allows the user to add any time at any time during the cycle (without having to drain out water). Additionally, this feature also let the users add detergent or fabric softener at a later time. According to the company the AI-powered Q-Rator technology with three smart features to manage laundry with added convenience. That can be accessed with the help of the SmartThings app that provides access to a seamlessly integrated ecosystem combined with the AddWash feature creates a synergistic effect that further enhances user convenience, simplifying the laundry process. The SmartThings app is available for both Android and iOS devices.

The three smart features include:

Laundry Planner: This feature allows the user to manage a laundry finishing time, freeing them to control their schedule on their own terms. The intuitive interface is easy to use and will even recommend the proper cycle for the given time.

Laundry Recipe: This offers automatic recommendations for optimal wash cycles based on information such as colour, fabric type and degree of soiling inputted by the user.

HomeCare Wizard: The feature proactively monitors your washing machine’s condition and provides tips to ensure that it is maintained at its best while also offering quick and easy remote troubleshooting support.

In addition to this, the range is 5-star rated with the latest BEE norms and comes with energy-efficient features such as Echo Bubble Digital Inverter Technology and Ceramic Heater cut energy requirements and makes the models sustainable. The Eco Bubble technology uses a bubble generator to dissolve detergent into the water and then inject air, producing a rich soapy foam cushion. This helps in keeping the delicate clothes such as outdoor wear and water repellent fabrics protected. The Super Eco Wash program washes at just 15°C, with the results of a 40°C wash, using just 30% of the energy as a result.

Whereas the Samsung 10 kg Fully Automatic Front Load model will be available with a price tag of Rs 67,000 while the 10 kg Washer Dryer model is priced at Rs 93,000. The new range will be available on Amazon, Flipkart, Samsung’s official online store Samsung Shop and Samsung channel partners across offline channels.

Amazon has announced the launch of a slew of its next-generation products in the market which includes Echo devices, Luna cloud gaming service and more. Apart from these devices the company has also introduced two new Amazon Fire TV devices Fire TV stick which is a successor to the TV stick and a new Fire TV Stick Lite for a more personal and customised TV experience.

“We are passionate about inventing on behalf of our customers to make it even easier to enjoy the best in entertainment,” said Marc Whitten, Vice President, Amazon Entertainment Devices and Services. “With a redesigned Fire TV experience tailored to each user, it’s even simpler to stream your favourite shows with our more powerful, next-generation Fire TV Stick and our even more affordable Fire TV Stick Lite.”

The new Fire TV Stick is an update to the existing Fire TV Stick that now comes with a 1.7 GHz quad-core processor that is 50% more powerful than the predecessor. Though it is limited to 1080p at 60fps with HDR compatibility. For better connectivity the Fire Stick supports dual-band, dual-antenna wifi supports 5 GHz networks. In addition to this, it also features Dolby Atmos for immersive sound with compatible content and speakers, and an Alexa Voice Remote with dedicated power, volume, and mute buttons for easy control of TVs, soundbars, and A/V receivers. The company claims that it now consumes 50% less power than the previous generation.

The Fire TV Stick Lite is similar to the standard variant but at an affordable price. It has all the similar features to the Fire TV Stick It features HDR support with a new Alexa Voice Remote Lite that allows you to use voice to find, launch, and control content. The first in the list is the new Echo that now comes with a new spherical design rather it dropped the tower-shaped design that comes in the previous Echo and Echo Plus models. According to the company, the latest device is a combination of both the Echo and Echo Plus at an affordable price. It now sports a fabric finish with an LED light ring at the base of the sphere that reflects off of surfaces for added visibility.

It now offers better sound quality as it uses a 3.0-inch woofer, dual-firing tweeters, and Dolby sound support. In addition to this, the new Amazon Echo automatically senses the acoustics of your space and fine-tunes audio playback. Right now, it will be accessible via Fire TV, PC, and Mac as well as on web apps for iPhone and iPad, and will be extended to Android later on. All you need to do is subscribe to the Luna+ game channel and a library of games will open on Fire TV, PC, and Mac, or through web apps on iOS. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirms a 120Hz display, likely to support 65W Warp Charge Technology

On October 14 OnePlus is going to expand its latest flagship series in India with the launch of OnePlus 8T in India.  Until now the company has only confirmed the launch date of the device but in a new development, the company has updated its landing page that teases its latest Warp Charge technology. This hints that the smartphone is likely to use a dual-cell 65W fast charging system which we have already seen on Oppo Find X2. Besides the company’s CEO, Pete Lau has also spilled the beans on the OnePlus 8T upcoming specifications which include a 6.55-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and more.

In conversation with TechRadar Pete Lau has revealed that the OnePlus 8T will be featuring a 6.55-inch display similar to its siblings. Likewise, he also confirmed to the publication a Fluid AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz which is an upgrade over its predecessor OnePlus 8. Therefore, this will deliver a buttery smooth display experience therefore enhancing the overall viewing and gaming experience considerably. For your information, the 120Hz display is only offered on the Pro variant of the flagship series therefore 8T is the company’s first non-Pro variant to offer this high refresh rate screen.

In addition to this Pete Lau revealed that the along with 120Hz refresh rate for the first time the company will be offering a 2.5D flexible panel on the OnePlus 8T. he further added, “Compared to regular panels, the 2.5D flexible screen offers an improved light permeability and can reach a maximum brightness of up to 1100 nits”. Moreover, the display will be featuring a screen-to-body ratio of 91.9% which is comparatively larger than what we get on the 8 Pro (90.8%), 8 (88.7%) and recently launched OnePlus Nord (86.7%) that means it will be getting slim bezels.

Lau said, “the highest color accuracy possible across the industry” as OnePlus “ran the panels through the same rigorous color calibration process as the OnePlus 8 series and reached a Just Noticeable Color Difference (JNCD) of around 0.3” He also claims that the smartphone has achieved an overall rating of A+ after going through DisplayMate’s rigorous screen tests.

On the other hand, the OnePlus 8T invite page is showing a dual-cell charging system hinting at a fast-charging solution. The device is expected to offer a dual-cell 65W fast charging system which is now available on Oppo Find X2 as 65W SuperVOOC 2.0. It is capable of charging the phone from 0 to 100 percent in just 38 minutes.

According to a leak, the smartphone is tipped to be offered in two different configurations 8GB RAM with 128GB storage variant and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage variant priced at EUR 599 (approx Rs 51,700) and EUR 699 (approx Rs 60,000) respectively. The handset will come in two colour options Aquamarine Green and Lunar Silver.

Speaking of the specs, the OnePlus 8T is speculated to feature a 6.5-inch full-HD+ display with a refresh rate of 120Hz which goes with Lau’s recent revelation. It is suggested to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

For cameras, it is likely to come with a quad rear camera setup consisting of a primary 48-megapixel sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), a secondary 16-megapixel sensor, a 5-megapixel lens and a 2-megapixel sensor. While on the front it is likely to have a 16-megapixel selfie camera. Moreover, there is going to be a 4,500mAh battery with 65W Warp Charge fast charging support.

Samsung Galaxy F41 will feature a massive 6,000mAh battery and a Super AMOLED Infinity-U display with sleek bezels on the sides. Comping all the specs side by side it has come to know that at least there is not much difference between all the four devices. S20 FE has got all the top features. It has a bigger 6.5-inch display, large battery IP68 certified for water and dust resistance along with a multi-camera set up that too includes a telephoto lens. In order to bring down the cost, the company has given a plastic body instead of glass which comes on its flagship devices. Also, it lacks 8K video recording and 100x space zoom is also missing instead it has a 30x zoom and 3x optical zoom. So for all these features, the pricing makes sense. So if you are were looking for an affordable option S20 FE is the one for you.

Realme has announced the sale date for Narzo 20 Pro smartphone that has been built to cater to the young players and performance seekers. On the camera front, Realme revealed that the Narzo 20 Pro boasts the latest ultra-clear quad-camera set-up, comprising a 48MP main camera, an 8MP 119-degree ultra-wide-angle, a macro lens and a B&W portrait lens. The 16MP front camera supports various modes and effects such as smart beauty mode, Bokeh Effect, etc, allowing users to take flawless selfies. The front camera can also be used for face unlock.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G 5G mobile platform officially announced

The American chipset maker Qualcomm has announced its latest 5G mobile processor in its Snapdragon 7 series. The new Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G SoC comes with 5G capabilities with support for Sub-6 and mmWave, SA and NSA, and global 5G banding and multi-SIM. Moreover, it will be offering true HDR gaming with vibrant graphics paired with Adreno 619 GPU that offers up to 10% faster graphics rendering. Moreover, this will also bring support for 120 Hz on-device display along with up to 20% improvement in AI TOPS performance.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G SoC is based on 64-bit Qualcomm Kryo 570 eight-core CPU cores with a clock speed of up to 2.2GHz paired with Qualcomm Adreno 619 GPU for graphics. According to the company, this chipset offers up to 20 percent improvement in AI TOPS performance and up to 10 percent faster graphics rendering over Snapdragon 730G SoC and Snapdragon 750G SoC. And, the Wi-Fi 6-ready Qualcomm FastConnect 6200 Mobile Connectivity Subsystem supports stable, secure connections for that home-field advantage that also includes Bluetooth 5.1 and Snapdragon X52 Modem-RF system for 5G connectivity. This offers a 5G peak download speed of up to 3.7 Gbps (5G), 1.2 Gbps (LTE).

Whereas the Spectra 355L image signal processor, 14-bit, 2x Image Signal Processor (ISP) enhances the camera capabilities. It can support up to 192 MP single camera and up to 32MP dual camera set up with support for slow-motion videos, HDR10, HLG and HEVC set-ups.

On the display front the Snapdragon 750G SoC is capable of offering a Full HD+ display with a 120HZ refresh rate. The audio department has also been well taken care of by Qualcomm Aqstic smart speaker amplifier up to Qualcomm WSA8835, Qualcomm Hexagon Voice Assistant Accelerator, Qualcomm Aqstic audio codec up to Qualcomm WCD9385, Qualcomm Aqstic audio technology.

In terms of charging there is a Qualcomm Quick Charge 4+ technology. For HD gaming it offers 10-bit color depth and 2020 color gamut along with other gaming features that include Adreno HDR Fast Blend which offers up to 2x better performance in complex rendering compared to the previous generation, while Qualcomm Game Color Plus boosts color and saturation for vivid, lifelike graphics. Google Maps brings a COVID-19 layer, a new safety tool to track nearby cases

With a new update, the search giant Google has introduced an overlay of COVID case trends as a new safety tool on its platform. This tool will be helpful in getting critical info about the number of COVID-19 cases in your area so that you can make more informed decisions before they travel to a city, state and even countries as getting around is more complicated these days

Over the past few months features such as popular times and live busyness, COVID-19 alerts in transit, and COVID checkpoints in driving navigation have already being introduced by Google in Maps. But now it has come up with a new safety to track COVID-19 cases in an area. The special COVID layer to Google Maps will start rolling out globally to Android as well as iOS devices this week onwards.

According to the blog post, a tool can be found in your Google Maps and toggling through this will show up the seven-day average number of confirmed cases in each area per 100,000 people for the area of the map you’re looking at, and a label that indicates whether the cases are trending up or down. 

 

Tap the layer button to see the data

The layer button can be found on the top right-hand corner of your screen. Hitting the button will let you see a trend of new COVID cases info. The colour coding will help you easily distinguish the density of new cases in an area. Trending case data is visible at the country level for all 220 countries and territories that Google Maps supports, along with state or province, county, and city-level data where available.

The COVID overlay gets its data from multiple authoritative sources, including Johns Hopkins, the New York Times, and Wikipedia. While these sources get the data from public health organizations like the World Health Organization, government health ministries, along with state and local health agencies and hospitals. Many of these sources already power COVID case information in Search, and we’re now expanding this data to Google Maps. 

“While getting around is more complicated these days, our hope is that these Google Maps features will help you get where you need to be as safely and efficiently as possible. The COVID layer starts rolling out worldwide on Android and iOS this week,” wrote Sujoy Banerjee, a Google Maps project manager, in a blog post.

Samsung has unveiled the company’s first consumer PCIe 4.0 NVMe solid-state drive (SSD) – the Samsung SSD 980 PRO for professionals and consumers who want cutting-edge performance in their high-end PCs, workstations, and game consoles.

“Over the years, Samsung has continuously challenged the limits of high-speed flash memory storage solutions. The new 980 PRO SSD reflects our continuing commitment to delivering exceptional products consumers have come to expect from Samsung,” said Mike Mang, vice president of Memory Brand Product Biz at Samsung Electronics.

According to Samsung, The 980 PRO is ideal for consumers and professionals who work with 4K and 8K contents and play graphics-heavy games as it has been optimized for handling data-intensive applications.

All the key components, including the custom Elpis controller, V-NAND and DRAM, are completely designed in-house to deliver the full potential of PCIe 4.0. This allows the 980 PRO to provide sequential read and write speeds of up to 7,000 MB/s and 5,000 MB/s respectively, as well as random read and write speeds of up to 1,000K IOPS, making it up to two times faster than PCIe 3.0 SSDs and up to 12.7 times faster than SATA SSDs.

Apart from performance, Samsung 980 PRO comes with outstanding thermal control solutions for improved reliability. While most of today’s high-performance NVMe SSDs rely on external copper heatsinks to diffuse heat, Samsung’s 980 PRO employs a nickel coating on the controller as well as a heat spreader label on the back side of the SSD for efficient thermal management. These innovative heat-dissipating functions also allow the drive to maintain its compact and slim M.2 form factor.

Besides this, Samsung’s Dynamic Thermal Guard technology further ensures that the drive’s temperature stays at the optimal level, minimizing performance fluctuations over the long haul.

It is worth noting that the Samsung SSD 980 PRO comes in 1TB, 500GB and 250GB models, and will be available worldwide starting this month, while the 2TB capacity model will be available by the end of this year. The 980 PRO’s manufacturer’s suggested retail prices start at $89.99 for the 250GB model.
