Sony A6400 mirrorless camera launched in India with a price tag of Rs 75,990

0

Sony added the A6400 mirrorless camera to its arsenal in India. This cam falls in the APS-C mirrorless camera lineup in the country. People can purchase the camera from today onwards from Sony Centre outlets, and other major electronic stores. According to Sony, A6400 has the fastest autofocus acquisition speed of 0.02 seconds along with real-time Eye AF and tracking.

The price of Sony A6400 is Rs 75,990 for the body, throw a 16-55mm lens and the price becomes Rs 85,990. With an 18-135mm lens the price shoots up to Rs 1,09,990. Its design is somewhat similar to Sony A5100 but that’s about it as it packs much better specifications with a hybrid autofocus like the type used in Sony’s flagship camera the A7R III. Which also uses 425 points phase detection.

The real-time Eye AF it has does what it says, it uses AI to identify if there is a person whose picture is being taken and focuses on the person’s eyes. Then it adjusts the speed and accuracy of the picture. It works on animals as well so this camera becomes a great choice for wildlife enthusiasts.

The camera has a 24.2MP Exmor CMOS image sensor and Bionz X image processor for taking photos. The processor gives the camera an ability to shoot up to 11 fps with mechanical shutter, but when the camera is put in the silent shooting mode it goes even further to give 8 fps. Now that is impressive. But with the silent shooting the continuous AE and AF must be turned on.

The ISO range of Sony A6400 ranges from 100 to 32,000. This means it can handle low-light shooting extremely well. It can also record 4K videos without pixelating and has a 180-degree viewfinder tilt function that proves useful in many situations. The camera also comes with connectivity options like built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC. So photos and videos can be imported or exported to and from online sources or an external device.

The camera, however, misses out on in body image stabilization department. It has an NP-FW50 battery with USB port for charging the battery. It also comes with a USH-1 card slot for storing the captured images. It also has a low-resolution viewfinder, which maxes at 2.4 million dot XGA OLED.

We feel, the camera would be loved by the wildlife photographers because of its Eye AF for capturing the real wild, the high ISO range for the low light situations and the ability to capture and record in extreme low fps for those fast-moving animals, creatures or objects.

Samsung Galaxy S10E Canary Yellow image leaked, dimensions of all Galaxy S10 variants tipped

0

As the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S10 smartphones draws near, renders, reports and information about the handsets has increasingly been circulating on the internet. The company is set to launch three variants of the smartphone this year – Samsung Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10E.

The series is all set to launch this month on February and now, a new render leak has surfaced online that shows the Galaxy S10E’s Canary Yellow colour option. We should mention that this is the first time that we have got a glimpse of what the Canary Yellow colour variant of Samsung Galaxy S10 will look like.

The renders have been leaked by tipster Ishan Agarwal in collaboration with MySmartPrice on Twitter. In the image that has been shared, we can see a smartphone with a metallic frame that sports the Infinity-O display.

The glossy back panel of the Samsung Galaxy S10E smartphone is shown to be of Canary Yellow colour and they house the dual rear camera setup of the smartphone. We should mention that the cameras on the back panel of the smartphone are stacked horizontally and Samsung’s logo sits right in the centre.

Since this is the Samsung Galaxy S10E, it does not come with an in-display fingerprint scanner and has a physical fingerprint sensor instead. In the renders, the fingerprint sensor of the smartphone can be seen on its right edge and the volume rocker and a dedicated Bixby button can be seen on the left edge of the device.

Agarwal has also shared an image that has all the colour variant of the smartphone, besides the Ceramic ones. He has also said that the Blue colour option will be made available later than other colour variants.

That’s not all. The tipster also spoke about the dimensions of all the three smartphone variants that are set to be launched by Samsung.

Samsung Galaxy S10E, which is the smallest among the lot, is said to come with 5.8-inch display and will measure 142.5×70.5×8.1mm. Samsung Galaxy S10 has been leaked to come with a 6.1-inch display and its dimensions will be 149.9×71.6×8.1mm. The most premium of all, Samsung Galaxy S10+, is said to have a 6.4-inch display and will measure 157.0×75.3×8.1mm. So, while the screen sizes of all the three smartphones are different, the company has tried to keep them all thin. The reason why Samsung Galaxy S10+ is relatively thicker than the others is that it reportedly houses a larger 4,000mAh battery.

Samsung is all set to launch the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10E smartphones at an event in San Francisco that has been scheduled for February 20. The technology giant has also hinted that it may launch the foldable phone at the event too.

Instagram announced it will add IGTV content to its main feed

0

Instagram announced that they would start showing the content from IGTV to the user’s main feed. The company said that they will add one-minute videos to user’s main feed as ‘previews’ and if the user wished to see the entire content, they could go to the content poster’s profile and watch the full video. Earlier users had the option to open the IGTV app whenever they wanted to see it, but the company has made it so that the users will view the content of the IGTV whether they want to or not.

IGTV was a standalone service launched by Instagram last year so that creators can share more content with their followers. The users can choose to see or not the content even if it was from someone they followed. But the company has made it so that it won’t happen again. It wants to ‘force-feed’ the IGTV content to the users.

With this decision, Instagram wants the user to use and consume more of IGTV videos and this move just might help boost the usage of IGTV. They also stated that they wanted to make it easier to discover and watch IGTV videos.

With IGTV, Instagram wished to rival YouTube as a video sharing platform, but the company should note that it is walking a very thin line here. If the users are overwhelmed or they are getting too much of IGTV content on Instagram, which they didn’t ask for, then they just might uninstall the IGTV app or unfollow people who makes IGTV videos to get rid of the ‘problem’ on Instagram.

Instagram added their stories section some time back where users can see and interact with the stories of all the people they follow. The thing about stories is that they disappear after 24 hours and also it doesn’t take much of the main feed’s space. The stories section appears on top of the Instagram app as a horizontal strip and it doesn’t bother the main feed. But if IGTV is being added to appear on the main feed of the user it would be problematic for some users, as they wouldn’t want it on their main feed at all. So, this step could backfire for the company.

CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced that Instagram has more than 500 million daily users. So, it will all come down to one thing: majority. If majority of users don’t like this new Instagram feature it would be problematic for the company. But if the users accept this feature the company and the creators would benefit from it.

Apex Legends received 10 million players in just 3 Days

0

Apex Legends is EA’s take on the ever-popular battle royale genre to compete against PUBG and Fortnite. It was launched three days ago by EA Games and Respawn Entertainment, and it was received widely by worldwide audience. In just three days since its launch it has received more than 10 million players with the numbers still growing. But, the question is, will it be able to take on and gain as much popularity as PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battle Ground) and Fortnite, the current leaders of the genre.

“In 72 hours, over 10 million players have jumped into Apex Legends and we’ve breached 1 million concurrent players! This has been a truly incredible journey. We tested and tweaked. We argued and agreed. We got to a point where we felt some magic. We knew it would be risky to take the franchise in this direction, to go free to play, and do a surprise launch. But we fell in love with Apex Legends and wanted, needed, other people to play it too,” says Vince Zampella, CEO of Respawn Entertainment.

Currently, Apex Legends is available on Sony PS4, Microsoft Xbox One and PC and its free.

It has been set in the world of Titanfall, which was developed by Respawn Entertainment but Apex Legends is not going to be the 3rd instalment in the Titanfall universe, the company said.

The game is set in the same universe, but the events in Apex Legends unfold after Titanfall 2. It is party to a different section of the Titanfall universe called the ‘Outlands’. Unlike its competitors where the players have to create and design their own characters they want to see and play with, Apex Legends uses class-based character selection. And like the RPGs, each class has a unique personality, skills and abilities which separates them from other characters.

Each character in the game will have an ultimate ability and a passive ability. Some characters might have zip lines or grappling hooks which we saw in Titanfall and other might have toxic chemical weapons and much more. The players can use these unique skills to their advantage and get that kill to win.

The game creators have also designed the environment and the battleground in such a way that it favours different characters and puts them in an advantage with their abilities. Besides their skills, the weapons and armour are found on grounds and other map-locations like the other battle royale games. Death in the game is not permanent unless you are playing ‘solo’, when you are down, a teammate can revive you or take the banner off your ‘dead’ body. Then take that to the respawn beacon to get you back in the fight. You lose your gear and weapons but live to fight again.

Similarities from other battle royale game are many in Apex Legends, like the weapon customizations, backpacks to hold gear, cosmetic and clothing upgrade etc. The company has promised regular updates, new character introductions, fresh content, weapons, challenges and much more in the coming months.

Apex Legends is off to a good start by acquiring more players, but it still has a long way to go if it wants to reach the top level. Games like PUBG have a user base close to 200 million. PUBG and Fortnite are available on Android and iOS as well, which gives them much greater reach and a wider player base. But Apex Legends is not available on mobile devices and the company hasn’t said anything about it.

In the coming days we will see if it becomes the next best battle royale game or be another name on the list of this genre.

Samsung Galaxy F foldable phone’s 3D renders show us what the smartphone may look like

0

In November 2018, Samsung held its developer conference where it showcased its brand new One UI and gave the world the first glimpse at its upcoming foldable phone. But then, Samsung was so secretive about the device that it even dimmed the lights on the stage when they showed the smartphone. So, although we do know that Samsung Galaxy F, which is said to be the name for the foldable phone, works as a tablet that can be folded into a candy bar phone, we still don’t know much about the upcoming handset’s design.

But that wouldn’t be the case anymore. The 3D renders of the Samsung Galaxy F foldable phone have been shared by technology blog LetsGoDigital that show what the design of the foldable phone may be like when it is released. We should mention that the renders that have been shared may not be exactly like the smartphone that will be launched, they do give us an idea about what to expect from the upcoming device.

The Samsung Galaxy F renders are said to be based on the leaked official video ad of the smartphone that gave us a first proper look at the handset. Compared to previous renders of the Samsung Galaxy F that surfaced online, there are a few considerable changes that can be seen in the new renders.

To begin with, the hinge that which fold flat is not segmented like the Microsoft Surface Book hinge in the new set of renders. Furthermore, Samsung Galaxy F can be seen to come with an extremely thin built and this may be because the South Korean technology giant talked about the new polarizer filter during its developer conference. For those unaware, the polarizer filter is 45% thinner. Besides this, the bezels of the smartphone also look thinner than what they were in previous renders.

According to prior reports, Samsung Galaxy F will come with a 7.3-inch display and have a resolution of 1,536×2,152 pixels. On being folded, the display of the smartphone will become 4.58-inches in size.

It has also been reported that the smartphone will come with two batteries and it is expected to sport a triple rear camera setup. The foldable phone by Samsung is expected to be launched on February 20 along with Galaxy S10 lineup.

Snapdragon 712 is the newest mid-range offering from Qualcomm

Qualcomm has announced its newest mid-range processor, the Snapdragon 712 SoC. It is the successor of Snapdragon 710 SoC which was announced an year earlier. Its performance is definitely lesser than the 800 series chipsets which are used in flagship smartphones. But it is a greater performing processor than the 600 series and is far better than the 400 series. The 700 series chipsets from Qualcomm can be seen in many devices by Nokia, Oppo and other smartphone manufacturers who target the mid-range segment.

Unlike Snapdragon 855 SoC, which is far greater than last year’s Snapdragon 845 processor, the Snapdragon 712 chipset will not offer a great improvement from its predecessor but it will definitely come with enhanced features as compared to Snapdragon 710. According to Qualcomm, the newly launched processor would have better support and integration with AI, and the company also claimed that the new processor is ten times faster than its predecessor. Snapdragon 712 processor uses a 10nm-based chip with a 64-bit architecture and it also has an 8X Kyro 360 CPU.

There are no changes in the GPU department as Snapdragon 712 SoC has the same GPU as the Snapdragon 710 processor – the Adreno 616 GPU. It has the Snapdragon X15 modem, which supports downlink of LTE Cat.15 and uplink Cat.13. The processor is clocked at 2.3 GHz which is an upgrade from the Snapdragon 710 Soc, which was clocked at 2.2GHz. It has Quick Charge 4.0+ so we can see an improvement in the charging time and the charging speed.

Audiophiles and music lovers would rejoice as the Snapdragon 712 processor supports TrueWireless Stereo Plus, Aqstic Audio, aptX audio and Broadcast Audio technologies, which would give a better Bluetooth audio and audio quality. And with the removal of headphone jacks from the smartphones it would be a great addition to have this added feature in the chipset. This upgraded processor also keeps the camera support same as its predecessor which can be either a dual camera setup of 20MP or a single camera of 32MP.

Although it has been announced already, the Snapdragon 712 SoC will be launched at MWC 2019 in Barcelona which is scheduled to begin on February 25.

An Android-exclusive Netflix feature is finally coming to iPhones and iPads

How often do we see an app that is not by Google get exclusive features for its Android users? We have to admit, this is not very common, however, it does happen. Back in July, Netflix joined the small list of such popular apps that have features for its Android users that have not been rolled out for its iOS users.

The feature – Smart Downloads – is basically a clever trick for all Netflix Android users and the popular video streaming service also announced that its iOS users will also be getting it before the end of 2018. While Netflix missed the deadline that it had initially set, it did not fail to keep its promise. On Thursday, Netflix announced that the Smart Downloads is finally ready for iPhones and iPads.

As the name suggests, Smart Downloads is an enhanced version of the Downloads feature that lets users save their favourite Netflix content to their device’s local storage, so that it can be viewed offline later. What’s more, Smart Downloads automatically deletes an episode once it has been watched, and downloads the next one. However, a stable Wi-Fi connection is a must for this feature to work properly.

The feature is heaven sent for those who often forget to delete content from their device’s storage and end up running out of space. With this feature, Netflix says that it aims to make it easier for its users to access their favourite content more easily.

A company spokeswoman said about the new feature, “The faster our members can get to the next episode of their favourite stories, the better. Now, fans on the Netflix iOS app can get in on the fun and convenience of Smart Downloads, spending less time managing their downloads and more time watching. The feature is one more way we’re making it easier for Netflix fans to take the stories they love wherever they go.”

And the best thing about the Smart Downloads is that even if you are watching multiple shows on your device and have downloaded episodes from all of them for offline watching, even when the feature is able to work for all of them.

We must also mention that if you are one of those people who love to have multiple episodes of the same show on your device because you like to watch them again and again, you would have to turn off the Smart Downloads feature so that you can manage your downloaded content on your own.

Samsung’s new smartwatch to be called Galaxy Watch Active; here’s a look at its specifications

It’s not unheard of to see a gadget’s specifications get leaked before its release or announcement. That’s how it has been for years and this time it’s the Samsung’s next smartwatch whose specs got leaked online. According to a report, the next smartwatch by Samsung will be called Samsung Galaxy Watch Active instead of Samsung Gear Sport, which is the name it got back in 2017.

The report, which first surfaced on XDA Developers, also said that the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active will run on Tyzen OS version 4.0.0.3. Previously, it was also revealed that the codename for Samsung’s Watch is Pulse SM-R500.

It is not the first time the South Korean technology giant is stepping in the smartwatch business. Its earlier models of the smartwatches were called the Gear S2, Gear S3 and Samsung Galaxy Watch.

The report also talked about  the specifications of Samsung Galaxy Watch Active, which a developer named ‘deadman96385’ shared with the publication. The 2019 version of Galaxy Watch Active (SM-R500) will reportedly have a 1.3-inch circular display with 360 x 360 pixels resolution. But it looks like the company has cut corners in the performance department of the Galaxy Watch Active as it is using the same processor, the Exynos 9110 which it used in last year’s (2018) Galaxy Watch, according to the report. It is also said to come with a 230mAh battery which is lower than 2017’s Gear Sport which had a 300mAh battery. Furthermore, the 2019 model of the Watch uses the same 5V charger.

Performance aside, if we talk about the features, we can expect that the Watch Active will have Microphone, Speakers and LTE or Bluetooth to communicate and connect with other devices. It could also support e-SIM to make it a device capable of calling and receiving calls. Some other important sensors might include the Accelerometer, Sleep monitor, Stress monitor, Wrist-up sensor, Barometer, Gravity sensor, Gyroscope, Pedometer and an Ambient Light. Since Samsung includes health apps and health sensors on most of its phones we can expect that the Galaxy Watch Active may also come with a heart rate monitor. Samsung Pay can also be included in its long list of features.

While Samsung has not confirmed or commented on this leak yet, we are looking forward to the Galaxy Watch Active getting announced either at the Galaxy Unpacked event or the MWC 2019, both of which are scheduled later this month.

Apple threatens to remove iPhone apps that trespasses users’ activity

On Thursday, Apple threatened to remove applications from its App Store if they record users’ activity without their consent. According to a report that had surfaced online earlier this week, iPhone apps from Expedia, Air Canada and Hollister were using ‘session replay’ software from a company named Glassbox.

This allowed them to record user’s actions like screen taps and swipes while using an application. The applications, according to the report by TechCrunch, recorded users’ activities without letting them know about it. Therefore, Apple made a decision to tell the app developers to inform users before recording their activities.

Since Apple has made this move, various technology websites have praised it for being concerned about users’ privacy. Speaking on the matter, Apple has been quoted by TechCrunch saying, “Protecting user privacy is paramount in the Apple ecosystem. Our App Store Review Guidelines require that apps request explicit user consent and provide a clear visual indication when recording, logging, or otherwise making a record of user activity. We have notified the developers that are in violation of these strict privacy terms and guidelines, and will take immediate action if necessary.”

There are many apps which have been recording users’ mobile device screens and in spite of doing this, have been present on the App Store. These iOS apps include Hotels.com, Abercrombie and Fitch and Expedia. To recall, a few days ago Apple deleted apps from its app store for violating its terms and conditions. Other companies which provide similar services like Glassbox include UXCam and Appsee.

Last week, a bug was reported in Apple’s Facetime app that let users listen to a conversation between two people even without being a part of the call. So, if a user called a contact on FaceTime who was already engaged in a call, the person calling could hear the conversation even before their call was answered.

Since the bug was discovered, Apple had disabled conference calls on its FaceTime app and now, it has finally rolled out a software update to fix the much-talked-about issue.

Apple finally rolls out an update to fix the FaceTime eavesdropping bug

Apple has finally fixed the bug in FaceTime that let people eavesdrop on other people’s video calls. To be more specific, because of the bug, if a person called their contact on FaceTime while they were already engaged on a video call, the person calling could hear the conversation even before their call was answered. As a damage control measure, Apple stopped conference FaceTime calls on its iOS devices once it acknowledged the bug and it promised to release an update to fix it.

The Cupertino-based technology giant has kept its promise and has rolled out iOS 12.1.4 and macOS Mojave 10.14.3 updates to iPhones, iPads and Mac computers. We should mention that the updates have been released nine days after the news of the FaceTime bug went viral on social media.

The glitch could have been misused by someone to hear someone else’s conversations. Furthermore, in some cases, the person making the call could not only hear the conversation but also see the live video of the other person in case the recipient pressed the volume button to dismiss the call.

The bug was initially discovered by a 14-year old named Grant Thompson. Thompson was playing Fortnite with his friends one day when he decided he needed to call one of them on FaceTime. However, when he called his friend, he could listen to the conversation his friend was having with someone else even before his call was answered.

He told his mother about it, who reported the issue to Apple. The company has said that it will compensate Thompson and his family for flagging the issue more than a week before it attracted international attention. Although there is no word on how much money would the family be getting as the reward, Apple did say that it would also contribute money towards Thompson’s education.

The smartphone giant also came across another bug while it was investigating the FaceTime bug. While we do know that it was a security issue that involved Live Photos on FaceTime, Apple did not clarify what exactly the bug was or how it worked. However, it did say that the new update fixes that issue too. Prior to releasing the update, Apple had disabled the use of Live Photos and conference calls on FaceTime.

If you have an iOS device, you can install the update by heading to Settings, going to General, and then clicking on Software Updates. Here, tap on ‘Download and Install’ to get the update on your device.

On the other hand, if you are a Mac user, you can head to the App Store and go to the Updates section to get the latest software update.

Speaking about the update, an Apple spokesperson said in a statement, “Today’s software update fixes the security bug in Group FaceTime. We again apologize to our customers and we thank them for their patience. In addition to addressing the bug that was reported, our team conducted a thorough security audit of the FaceTime service and made additional updates to both the FaceTime app and server to improve security.”

The battle heats up: Xiaomi claims Note 7 has better AnTuTu score than Samsung M-series

0

The Chinese smartphone company Xiaomi is known for offering feature filled affordable smartphones and it has been popular in the Indian market for quite some time. And the newest in the Note line-up from the company, the Redmi Note 7 which will have a 48MP primary camera has become one of the most popular and talked about phones even before its launch here. The industry along with other users in India are talking about how great the phone will be, already.

Its release in India is expected soon. But before its launch the price at which the Note 7 will be offered is dominated currently by Samsung’s M series which was sold online and was sold out within minutes. So, Note 7 has a competition even before its launch. The Samsung Galaxy M-series is the newest line-up from the South Korean tech giant which is offering Full HD+ Infinity-V display, dual rear camera setup, an octa-core processor and huge battery backup with room for more, and all of that at an affordable price. This the price segment where Xiaomi is dominant and with Samsung stepping up the game, it has sent shivers up Xiaomi’s spine.

Talking about the Redmi Note 7, it will be Xiaomi’s first smartphone with a behemoth 48-megapixel camera. It will also have a 6.3-inch Full HD+ display with up to 6GB RAM, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC and much more. And the company will be offering all this at an affordable price for which the Note series is known for, no doubt people are excited.

But recently, Xiaomi has called out Samsung and is claiming that its Note 7 has a better AnTuTu benchmark score than the Samsung M-series. Xiaomi went as far as to make fun of Samsung on Twitter saying that “Are you serious? Don’t tell Mi you’re going to choose a ‘M’obile with TFT display!” Since both the M10 and the M20 uses a TFT display while Note 7 comes with a better display.

It might be possible that the company is bringing the heat with the Note 7 in India soon and it’s also possible that its price will be same as the M-series. The starting price of Redmi Note 7 in china was RMB 999 which is roughly Rs 10,500 so we can expect the Note 7 to be priced around the same. And if it is then Samsung might lose its fair share of the mid-range smartphone market to Xiaomi, or will it?

AMD launches its Radeon VII GPU in India at Rs 54,990

0

American multinational semiconductor company AMD has today launched its flagship Radeon VII GPU, which is said to be the world’s first 7nm graphics gaming card and is touted to enhance the performance for latest AAA experiences, eSports, VR titles, 3D rendering, video applications, as well as compute workloads.

AMD has said that its new flagship GPU gives up to 29% better gaming performance than its predecessor Radeon Vega 64 GPU, if the game is played in 4K, ultrawide 1440p, or 1080p with HDR. We should mention that the Radeon VII was first announced at CES 2019 keynote by the company’s CEO Lisa Su.

Graphic cards with AMD Radeon VII GPU are available for purchase worldwide starting today. While in the United States, the card is priced at $699, in India it is available for Rs 54,990 with The Division 2, Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry 5 games.

The AMD Radeon VII GPU comes with 3,840 execution units which are called as stream processors by the company. The AMD Radeon VII GPU is clocked at 1400MHz, its maximum boost speed is 1750MHz and has a 13.8 Teraflops performance bandwidth. The company has said that the GPU is manufactured on AMD’s 7nm process and has a revamped version fo the Vega architecture that was also used in Radeon Vega 56 and Radeon Vega 64 GPUs last year.

The AMD Radeon VII GPU comes with 16GB of high-bandwidth 3D-stacked HBM2 memory that is connected with a 4,096-bit bus and has a total memory bandwidth of 1TBps. It is worth noticing that this is double the memory and 2.1X the memory bandwidth that we saw on the Radeon Vega 64.

The power consumption of the Radeon VII is said to be 300W and the GPU supports all of AMD’s software features like FreeSync 2, Radeon Chill, video stream capturing with Radeon ReLive, and performance tweaking with Radeon WattMan.

AMD’s Radeon VII GPU directly competes with Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 2080, however, the company has not made any claims about its GPU being better than the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti. Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang, on the other hand, has called the new GPU by AMD as “underwhelming” and “lousy” at a session with journalists at CES 2019.

Some Apple’s apps are recording User’s screen without their knowledge

0

Apple might be in a bit of a soup this time, as many Apps on its app store are recording its users’ mobile device screens. Many popular iOS apps like Hotels.com, Abercrombie & Fitch and Expedia are collecting user information about everything they are doing using Glassbox’s ‘session replay’ technology, a report claimed.

The tech allows app developers to search and enhance the issues users face using the app by recording what the user is doing at a granular level. This recording and transferring of data puts the user’s information at a risk. As the sensitive data can be used by someone other than the company. And if such sensitive information which are contained in the session replays aren’t effectively masked then it could be used against the users.

A researched named App Analyst found and flagged this issue. He also reported that Air Canada (an app which uses Glassbox for analytics just like Expedia) was capturing screenshots which contained user’s passwords and other sensitive information. When taking the sensitive user data black boxes are used to conceal the information of the user but sometimes, they failed to do so and the user information was visible. The system which were supposed to do this failed and the user’s passwords, their payment history and other sensitive information was also captured during the screen recordings. If those screenshots were stored or stolen, it could be a serious security issue.

Apple hasn’t done anything about Glassbox or even addressed the problem. It was only days ago when Apple deleted many apps from its App Store because they violated its terms and conditions. Other apps who provide similar services as Glass Box are UXCam and Appsee.

Last week a bug in Apple’s Facetime app let the users listen across the phone call even if the call wasn’t picked. And after some days we find that Facebook is also spying on children.

With digital security getting violated by the most prominent companies and world tech leaders it may not be too late before we are forced to delete these apps and stop trusting these so-called leaders of tech world. There should be strict rules and regulations to regulate these companies before they do some ‘real’ damage.

Hey Facebook, here are four new features that we would want to see on your platform

Facebook gets updated regularly and over a period of time, we have experienced a lot of changes in the social networking giant. Some of the major changes have included, more reaction-based options on post, more reaction-based options for comments, protection for profile picture and profile videos. However, there might still be a few changes that you might like to see in the largest social-networking giant that could enrich your experience as a user. Here are four features that we would want to see Facebook to establish in its app and web platform so that it could make the experience even more convenient and enjoyable for everyone:

  • We think that Facebook gives suggestions about pages that interests us. In our news feeds we should be suggested continuously, about the kind of things associated with our area of interest. Facebook generally suggests us profiles of people we might be interested in. So why not let us know about pages that are similar to the ones we regularly follow? We think that this would be more fun.

  • Interest based friend suggestion: Speaking of friend suggestions, we get to see people whom we are very remotely associated with, on the basis of mutual friends. We think that Facebook should connect us with those with whom we have similar interests or hobbies.

For example, we are interested in music, or more particularly, listen to the same music as other people. Then Facebook should make us aware about people with same inerests, so that we can have a desirable interaction with them. Like this, we can actually make friends rather than adding unknown people in our friend list with whom we hardly ever interact with.

  • Option to deactivate ‘seen’ mark: If possible, then we should get the option of de-activating the ‘seen’ mark on a chat of Facebook messenger. Sometimes we just don’t want people to constantly ping us by telling us to reply when we haven’t after looking at the message. However, if we haven’t seen their message, then they might excuse us for we might have replied if we saw it. However, you could kill two birds with one stone if you are able to de-activate the ‘seen’ mark. That way you can look at the message and restrict people from annoying you.

  • Receive notification if somebody unfriends you: Ever got unfriended by someone? Maybe you would like to know who did it? So, in our opinion, you should get a notification if someone unfriends you. If not a notification, then maybe a link where you can go once a month and see who unfriended you.

Huawei P30 and P30 Pro images leaked yet again

It is the season of leaks. This happens usually around MWC that we get to see lot of image and tech spec leaks of upcoming mobile phones. Another leak, this time of Huawei P30 and P30 pro, reveals the front part of the smartphones publicised by the website called Spigen. From what we have been able to know on the basis of this leak, the Huawei P30 will come with a vertical triple camera setup with the flash horizontally placed below the photo sensors. The last renders of the front part of the smartphones which came to light were very similar to an Oppo smartphone.
