In short, the company strives to make the conversation between AI and human beings sensible and responsible.In its blog post, Google noted that LaMDA understands quite a bit about the planet, Pluto. So if a student wanted to discover more about space, they could ask about Pluto and the model would give sensible responses, making learning even more fun and engaging. If that student then wanted to switch over to a different topic — say, how to make a good paper aeroplane — LaMDA could continue the conversation without any retraining. According to Google, LaMDA builds on earlier Google research,published in 2020, that showed Transformer-based language models trained on dialogue could learn to talk about virtually anything. Since then, we’ve also found that once trained, LaMDA can be fine-tuned to significantly improve the sensibility and specificity of its responses. Right now it is under testing and research is being done to make the machine learning technique more efficient and to bring out conversational flow to an interaction. First of all Android 12 Beta 1 is not a full-fledged or stable version of Google’s next Operating System. So the eligible or enrolled devices will automatically receive updates for the latest beta version of Android.It should be noted that if you have previously enrolled in the Android 11 beta programme, you must enrol again to receive Android 12. The updates that you’ll receive as a part of this programme are pre-release versions and may contain errors and defects that can affect the normal functioning of your device. You can opt-out of the programme at any time to return to the stable, public version of Android. When you opt-out of the programme, all user data on the device will be wiped.According to Google, you will not be able to unenroll and revert back to a lower public release version of Android without first wiping all locally saved data on your device. At this year’s Google annual developer conference it has not only introduced us to the next generation of the mobile operating system- Android 12 but it has also announced new privacy features for the Android devices that enable apps to harvest data of the users. So with the new features, the company aims to limit apps from collecting data about the users. Until now Android 12’s three developer previews have been rolled out. At the Google I/O 2021, the tech firm has released the first beta of Android 12 giving us a look into what features the next OS will bring when it lands on our devices.For a more personalised experience, the entire UI of Android 12 has been revamped from colour to shapes, light and motion. Initially, Pixel devices will be the first to be able to personalise their phone with a custom colour palette and redesigned widgets. They can choose wallpaper, and the system automatically determines which colours are dominant, which ones are complementary and which ones just look great. It then applies those colours across the entire OS: the notification shade, the lock screen, the volume controls, new widgets and much more.As soon as Android 12 drops to the device, the tap, swipe and scroll will become more smooth and come with animations. For instance, when you dismiss your notifications on the lock screen, your clock will appear larger so you know when you’re all caught up.The entire underlying system is much simplified and fluid by reducing the CPU time needed for core system services by up to 22% and reducing the use of big cores by the system server by up to 15% so that the device can run longer without a charge. Moreover, the notification shade, quick settings and even the power button have been redesigned. The notification shade is crisper, and playful and provides an at-a-glance view of your app notifications. While the Quick Settings will enable you to control the entire operating system with a swipe and a tap. It’s been rebuilt to include Google Pay and Home Controls, while still allowing for customization. Also on long pressing the power button will invoke Assistant to make a phone call,open apps, ask questions orread aloud text-heavy articles.In terms of Privacy and security Android 12 will include features that give you more transparency around which apps are accessing your data, and more controls so you can make informed choices about how much private information your apps can access. The new OS will now have a new Privacy Dashboard to view your permissions settings as well as what data is being accessed, how often and by which apps. It also lets you easily revoke app permissions right from the dashboard. In addition to this new indicator to the top right of your status bar is another addition by the company so that you know when your apps are accessing your microphone or camera. And if you want to remove app access to these sensors for the entire system, for this two new toggles have been added in Quick Settings.Also to give more control over how much information you share with apps Android 12 has brought new approximate location permissions so as to limit the app from seeing just your approximate location instead of a precise one. For example, weather apps don’t need your precise location to offer an accurate forecast. Apart from this Google has also built privacy protections directly into the OS. With the release, the company has introduced Android Private Compute Core which will introduce you to new technologies that are private by design and keeping your personal information safe, private and local to your phone. This functionality enables features likeLive Caption,Now Playing and Smart Reply. Google noted that the protections in Private Compute Core are open source and fully inspectable and verifiable by the security community. It should be noted that all these features have been released with Android 12 beta and more features are expected to arrive later this year.

However, Apple Music will automatically play Dolby Atmos tracks on all AirPods and Beats headphones with an H1 or W1 chip, as well as the built-in speakers in the latest versions of iPhone, iPad, and Mac by default. To get started on Lossless Audio, subscribers using the latest version of Apple Music can turn it on in Settings > Music > Audio Quality. The Apple Music subscribers can choose different resolutions for different connections such as cellular, Wi-Fi, or for download. The Lossless tier starts at CD quality, which is 16 bit at 44.1 kHz (kilohertz), and goes up to 24 bit at 48 kHz and is playable natively on Apple devices. Last week Asus announced the launch of its Zenfone 8 Series globally. The line-up includes the Asus ZenFone 8 and ZenFone 8 Flip. Along with the global launch both the smartphones were also scheduled to make their debut in the Indian market but the company had to be postponed the India launch amid COVID-19. The company did not reveal the next launch date but as per a recent listing, both the phones may arrive in the country but will be called Asus 8Z and Asus 8Z Flip.According to a report by GSMArena both the latest Asus Zenfone 8 devices has been spotted through a Google Play supported devices listing. As per the listing, both Zenfone 8 Indian variant with model code I006D has been codenamed as “ASUS 8Z”. Whereas ZenFone 8 Flip has been listed as its original name but the device is most likely to come with an ASUS 8Z Flip branding in India.It is no surprise that Asus Zenfone 8 series will come to India with a slightly changed name. This offer is applicable to those who are not able to get their phone recharged during the ongoing COVID crisis in the country. In addition to this, another offer is available that is the buy-one-get-one offer on any recharge plan they opt for.The company commented, “In these unprecedented times of the Covid pandemic, we at Jio want to ensure that staying connected remains accessible and affordable for all customers, especially the less-privileged sections of our society.”In the wake of the pandemic, Reliance Jio has launched two new offers for JioPhone users. It is offering free 300 minutes of outgoing calls every month to Jio Phone users who are not able to recharge due to lockdown or restrictions. This initiative will ensure the safety of its users. According to the telecom company, this offer will be available during the entire period of the pandemic. Notably, the free minutes cannot be used altogether but will come with a limit of 10 minutes per day. In 2020 Micromax re-entered the Indian market with the launch of two smartphones Micromax In Note 1 and Micromax In 1b. It should be noted that till the year 2012 the company was the Number 2 smartphone brand however, the home-grown company was wiped out as the Chinese companies were offering phones at affordable prices. Also, in 2020 Xiaomi and Realme dominated the budget segment despite being Chinese smartphone companies. So the homegrown company had to do something, something really quick as a result the first smartphone that Micromax brought out in 2021 is the Micromax In 1 in India and is being highly promoted as “India Ka Naya Blockbuster”. The device comes at a starting price of Rs 10,499. So in our review of Micromax In 1 we will be discussing whether or not it is worth spending that much.
Design and Display
So let’s begin with the design first. We found the design of the Micromax In 1 is acceptable and the same goes with the built quality as it comes with a plastic body as well as the frame. It features an X pattern on its rear with different hues that shines when light strikes it. We have the Blue and Purple colour option however, you can go for a subtle gradient black option that also has an X pattern over its back. The best part about its rear panel is that it does not pick up fingerprints very easily and the texture on the rear panel offers a decent grip as well. Despite having a plastic build it does not scratch easily. Although it comes with a back cover, we were confident enough to skip the back cover on this phone. The buttons on the phone are well-positioned with power and volume buttons given on the right side of the frame, which could have been sturdier. On the left, there is a SIM and microSD card slot and a dedicated Google Assistant button. The camera lenses do not protrude as much either, which is great. It should also be noted that inexpensive phones these days offer good design and build quality. Ok, moving on to the display, the Micromax In 1 features a 6.67-inch full-HD+ display with 1,080x,2,400 pixels of resolution with a hole punch cut out. It offers a 20:9 aspect ratio, 91.4 percent screen-to-body ratio, and 400 nits peak brightness as well as slim bezels. The display also gets L1 Widevine support, which means you will be able to stream content at the screen’s full resolution on Netflix, Prime Video, and other OTT platforms. The colour reproduction, viewing angles and brightness levels are impressive. The display is bright enough to be used indoors as well as outdoors also the touch response is good.
Performance and Cameras
On the performance side of things, the Micromax In 1 is powered by 12nm based octa-core MediaTek Helio G80 SoC with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage. The storage can also be expandable up to 256GB through a dedicated MicroSD card slot. The games on it are playable on medium settings such as Asphalt and COD. There was no noticeable lag or frame drop under these settings. However, if you are looking for a hardcore gaming-centric device you can look somewhere else because this phone is dedicated to casual gaming only. Also after continuous gaming, the plastic does get warm slightly but that is not much of an issue.On the software front, the Micromax In 1 runs Android 10 out of the box. In addition to this, the device will get updates with a monthly security patch for two years which is great. Similar to Motorola smartphones here you get a stock Android experience. The device is bloatware-free and you would not get those annoying advertisements. The mobile ships with both, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and face unlock for security. In the past, we have tested a lot of smartphones with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, but this one is so swift to unlock the phone that you are going to love it. The same goes with the face unlock which is equally instant so no issues with the biometrics. Ok, let’s move on to the cameras now, in the Micromax In 1 there is a triple rear camera setup that includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.79 aperture, a 2-megapixel depth sensor and another 2-megapixel macro lens. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera housed inside a hole-punch cut-out. Frankly speaking apart from the primary lens the remaining depth and the macro sensors are not desirable. The 48-megapixel primary sensor is quite impressive. In daylight, it delivers really nice images. As you can see it offers a good amount of details and balanced exposure. Whereas the colours are close to natural and accurate. Talking about the camera UI there is a separate option for HDR rather than an auto HDR mode, which is disappointing. The Pro mode offers a variety of options, but one thing we liked is that it also includes RAW camera support which is a really good addition. 48-megapixel primary lensPortrait shotmacro shotmacro shotOn the other hand, the 8-megapixel front-facing camera gets details and skin tone right. In terms of videos, the rear and the front cameras offer video recording up to 1080@30FPS from which you can’t expect anything extraordinary. All in all the camera performance of this phone is average. The Micromax In 1 is fuelled by a 5,000mAh battery and its endurance is pretty good. It easily gives a day’s and more battery life when used extensively. While most of the budget phones are restricted to 10 watts charging only, it comes with an 18W fast charging support. The whole charging process takes about two and a half hours to fully charge the smartphone from zero to one hundred per cent.
Conclusion
So let’s wrap it. Truth to be told, everything on the Micromax In 1 is decent. The battery performance is great, which lasts quite a long time. What’s more, is that the 18W charger comes included in the phone box. The device is nice to hold though it has a plastic built and the silicon case also comes included in the box. Also, we did notice that the phone heats up while it is put on change or when the camera app is open, which is kind of weird. In terms of Privacy and security Android 12 will include features that give you more transparency around which apps are accessing your data, and more controls so you can make informed choices about how much private information your apps can access. The new OS will now have a new Privacy Dashboard to view your permissions settings as well as what data is being accessed, how often and by which apps. It also lets you easily revoke app permissions right from the dashboard.
In addition to this new indicator to the top right of your status bar is another addition by the company so that you know when your apps are accessing your microphone or camera. And if you want to remove app access to these sensors for the entire system, for this two new toggles have been added in Quick Settings.
Also to give more control over how much information you share with apps Android 12 has brought new approximate location permissions so as to limit the app from seeing just your approximate location instead of a precise one. For example, weather apps don’t need your precise location to offer an accurate forecast.
Apart from this Google has also built privacy protections directly into the OS. With the release, the company has introduced Android Private Compute Core which will introduce you to new technologies that are private by design and keeping your personal information safe, private and local to your phone. This functionality enables features like Live Caption, Now Playing and Smart Reply. Google noted that the protections in Private Compute Core are open source and fully inspectable and verifiable by the security community.
It should be noted that all these features have been released with Android 12 beta and more features are expected to arrive later this year.

The same goes with the face unlock which is equally instant so no issues with the biometrics.

On the front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera housed inside a hole-punch cut-out. Frankly speaking apart from the primary lens the remaining depth and the macro sensors are not desirable. The 48-megapixel primary sensor is quite impressive. In daylight, it delivers really nice images. As you can see it offers a good amount of details and balanced exposure. Whereas the colours are close to natural and accurate. Talking about the camera UI there is a separate option for HDR rather than an auto HDR mode, which is disappointing. The Pro mode offers a variety of options, but one thing we liked is that it also includes RAW camera support which is a really good addition.
