Oppo concept phone and AR Glasses to launch at Oppo Inno Day 2020 event on November 17

The Chinese smartphone company Oppo is hosting its Oppo Inno Day 2020 event in China. So, on November 12 that is tomorrow, the company is all geared up to unveil its new concept phone as well as AR applications along with a pair of augmented reality (AR) glasses. The company revealed this through an official post on Weibo. Both the company’s latest innovation will be released via the company’s yearly conference.

For those who are unaware, the Oppo Inno Day 2020 event is a yearly conference that is being held in Shenzhen, China. There will be 3 conceptual products and 2 sets of technical systems.

The recent poster did not reveal much information about the Oppo concept device with a rollable display. But it is expected to roll or retract like LG Wing. However, the company says, “Big screen? Small screen? Infinite screen? In the future, your phone may be able to retract freely”. The official poster only reveals a corner of the phone which is quite distinctive and has curved edges.

According to a tipster @DigitalChatStation, the new concept phone will have a cloud scroll screen that can be stretched horizontally. 

In addition to this, the company will also introduce Oppo AR Glasses on the same day as the Future Technology Conference 2020 (OPPO INNO DAY 2020). This has been revealed by a teaser poster which shows that the AR glasses look similar to regular sunglasses. It has a metal framing as well as a black curtain around the frame to block distractions. The Weibo post says, “Sit 3 metres away and enjoy the immersive experience of a 90-inch large screen.” It will be offering a comfortable experience for its users with two lenses at the corners of which one will be delivering power to the AR system. Also, it is said to include voice or physical buttons and a spatial mic array with 3D surround audio and gesture controls.

Apart from this, the company will also reveal a spatial computing AR app more details on the application will be revealed at the time of the launch. Other than this the company is likely to unveil the Watch RX with a round dial. The Oppo’s own laptops and tablets are also set to make an appearance at this November 17, 2020 show

The smartphone industry evolution is so fast-paced that there is something or the other always is either ready or likely to be so soon. And Samsung is one of the several talented young players waiting in the wings. It has just done with the unveiling of this year’s flagship handsets and the list of its upcoming handsets for the year 2021 is out in the open. The company has just got its next year’s Galaxy A series phones that will make up its mid-range line-up. Soon after the list of its upcoming Samsung flagships for next year has also been revealed.

As per the tipster Max Weinbach (@MaxWinebach) the company has planned to launch a total of seven devices. According to its Twitter post, the Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is lined up for the launch after the release of the Galaxy S21 series. Just like S20 FE, it is going to be a more affordable version of the S21 series. To our surprise, the company is also speculated to launch Galaxy Z Fold FE as well as Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3. This means we are getting an affordable variant of the foldable device though the pricing has not been tipped or revealed. In addition to these three of the devices from the list is also going to support the S Pen stylus. Of which Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 3 while Galaxy Z Fold FE is likely to have S Pen support.

The list included all of the company’s flagship handsets but surprisingly the list did not include Galaxy Note 21 series which is Samsung’s most popular flagship device. However, it is not yet clear that the Galaxy Note line-up might have come to an end for the year 2021.

Other than this Samsung has got its nine Galaxy A series phones registered for trademarks for the year 2022. The list will include Samsung A12, A22, A32, A42, A52, A62, A72, and A92. These devices have been spotted over GalaxyClub. However, Samsung has not used Galaxy word but their description clearly indicates that the 2021 upcoming A-series devices on which the South Korean smartphone brand is working on are Galaxy A51, Galaxy A71, and Galaxy A91.

Samsung has announced the global availability of its all-new Smart Monitor to meet the new needs of today’s consumers, who are now working, learning and consuming entertainment at home. Samsung Smart Monitor comprises of powerful smartphone and PC connectivity, remote home office and learning features as well as Smart Hub, a comprehensive entertainment hub, just like Samsung’s built-in Smart TV platform. Mind you! The Samsung Smart Monitor is currently available in United States, Canada and China. However, Samsung plans to expand launching markets starting the end of November.

The monitor is available in two variants:

  • The M7 supports Ultra-High Definition (UHD) resolution in 32-inch
  • The M5 supports Full HD (FHD) resolution in 32-inch and 27-inch

Emphasising that work, education and entertainment have transformed into home-centered activities across the world, Hyesung Ha, Senior Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, said, “With this new normal, it is no surprise that most indicators show a rise in digital activities and many are rethinking their technology use at home. Our new Smart Monitor is a direct response to that demand. Consumers no longer have to choose between a screen for one or the other as this display brings it all together.”

Furthermore, the new Samsung Smart Monitor provides numerous connectivity options for both PCs and smartphones. Users can connect their personal mobile devices with just a simple tap using Tap View, App Casting or Apple AirPlay 2. Users can also connect to the monitor with Samsung DeX for a complete desktop experience using a mobile device.

According to Samsung, the display operates Microsoft Office 365 applications without a PC connection thanks to embedded Wi-Fi, allowing users to view, edit and save documents in the cloud directly from the monitor for home office and learning. The USB Type-C port allows for data, display and power — up to 65W — with just a single connection. Multiple USB ports and Bluetooth 4.2 allow for additional connection versatility while the display has built-in two channel speaker.

With Samsung’s Smart Hub, the display of the Smart Monitor also operates as a complete entertainment hub as it can stream content. The monitor’s app store allows users to stream their favourite content including Netflix, HBO and YouTube even without a connection to a PC or mobile device. The display can also be controlled by voice thanks to Bixby integration.

Samsung’s Smart Monitor also comprises of technology designed to make viewing more comfortable. Adaptive Picture optimizes picture quality for any viewing environment by automatically adjusting brightness and color temperature in response to room conditions. With a special eye-saver mode to reduce blue light, this device ensures the most comfortable viewing experience in any environment.

Google to delete inactive Google accounts starting June 1, 2021

If you have been inactive for more than a year now or if your store content is over its storage limit then Google has an important update for the Google account users. According to the tech giant, it will start shutting the inactive accounts, as well as the stored content as it’s new policy will come into effect from June 2021.   

According to the new policy, Google will delete the content as well as inactive accounts after a set period of time and two those exceeding the storage limit for two years. Google in its blog post said, “We’re introducing new policies for consumer accounts that are either inactive or over their storage limit across Gmail, Drive (including Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drawings, Forms and Jamboard files) and/or Photos to better align with common practices across the industry. After June 1.” 

So those users who have been inactive for two years (24 months) might get axed first. As per the company, it will now directly delete the inactive user accounts or stored content firstly it will notify the user multiple times before taking any action. “We will notify you multiple times before we attempt to remove any content so you have ample opportunities to take action,” it further added.

So those who have been inactive can simply start keeping their account active by visiting Gmail, Drive or Photos on the web or mobile once in a while signed in and connected to the internet in order to protect their account from getting deleted. Also, the Inactive Account Manager can help you manage specific content and notify a trusted contact if you stop using your Google Account for a certain period of time (between 3-18 months).

It should be noted that the new two-year inactive policy will apply regardless of your Inactive Account Manager settings. 

Apart from this Google is also putting an end to its free unlimited storage service for Google accounts. From June 1, 2021, it will put a cap of 15GB and once you exceed the limit the users will be charged a fee. Also, this capping is not valid on the high-quality photos and videos already stored. For expanding your storage, the plans start at $1.99 per month in the U.S. for 100 GB of storage and include additional member benefits like access to Google experts, shared family plans and more.

Realme X7 series confirmed to launch in India by 2021: CEO Madhav Sheth

After bagging BIS certification, the Realme X7 series will now launch in India soon as confirmed by CEO Madhav Sheth. But as per the executive, the lineup will make it to the Indian market next year as the company is planning to democratise 5G technology in 2021 with the release of Realme X7 series. To recall in September this year the company introduced two devices under the series in China namely Realme X7 and Realme X7 Pro.

However, there is no fixed date for the launch of Realme X7 series but it is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2021. CEO Madhav Sheth took to Twitter to confirm the news, his tweet reads, “We were the first to introduce 5G smartphones in India with #realmeX50Pro. Now our plan is to democratize 5G technology in 2021 starting with the launch of #realmeX7 series & then bring it to more devices. #DareToLeap with us as #realme gets ready to be the 5G leader.”Though he did not confirm but the company is expected to launch both the phones Realme X7 and Realme X7 Pro. Recently the Realme X7 Pro also showed up on the BIS website with model number RMX2121 indicating at the launch.

Realme X7 and Realme X7 Pro specifications

Realme X7 features a 6.4-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with 1,080×2,400 pixels of resolution, a 90.8 percent screen-to-body ratio and a 180Hz touch sampling rate. The 5G phone runs Realme UI built on Android 10 and is powered by octa-core Dimensity 800U SoC paired with Mali-G57 GPU. There is a quad rear camera set up of the phone that includes a 64-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture. Additionally, there is an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.3 aperture, a 2-megapixel black and white portrait sensor with an f/2.4 aperture and a 2-megapixel macro lens with f/2.4 aperture. For selfies, there is a 32-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/2.5 aperture. Moreover, it has a 4,300mAh battery with 65W fast charging support.

On the other hand Realme X7 Pro comes with a bigger 6.55-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The display includes up to 240Hz touch sampling rate. Under the hood, there is an octa-core Dimensity 1000+ SoC with 9-core Mali-G77 GPU. For pictures, the device has a 64-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.25 aperture, a 2-megapixel black and white portrait sensor with an f/2.4 aperture and a 2-megapixel macro lens with f/2.4 aperture. While on the front there is a 32-megapixel sensor with an f/2.45 aperture. Additionally, the smartphone packs a 4,500mAh battery with 65W fast charging support.

Vivo Y12s has been spotted on various platforms and has also been leaked several times. But now the Chinese smartphone company has officially unveiled the new mid-range phone. The device is now up for sale in the markets such as Hongkong and Vietnam. The phone comes with a bigger display, a huge battery and a vertically placed dual rear camera set up. Vivo Y21s is powered by MediaTek Helio P35 SoC and also runs FunTouch OS version 11.

Vivo Y12s has been introduced with a price tag of HK$ 1, in Asian markets like Hongkong and Vietnam. 098 which translates to Rs 10,500. The device is now available for purchase in Asian markets like Hongkong and Vietnam. It will come in two colour options Phantom Black and Glacier Blue. As of now, there is no confirmation by the company whether it will bring this smartphone to more Asian countries such as India.

Vivo Y12s specs and features

Vivo Y12s the new mid-range phone by the Chinese smartphone company runs the FunTouch OS 11 based on top of Android 10 OS. The device features an HD + 6.51-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. It has a waterdrop style notch to house a selfie camera and offers an aspect ratio of 20: 9. Under the hood, there is a MediaTek Helio P35 processor paired with 3GB of RAM with 32GB of storage. The internal storage can be expanded using a microSD card.

In terms of photos and video, Vivo Y12s comes with a dual camera set up that is placed vertically on the back of the phone. The camera system includes a 13-megapixel primary camera with f/1.8 aperture and a 2-megapixel secondary lens with f/2.4 aperture. For taking selfies and video calling there is an  8-megapixel front-facing camera.

The Vivo smartphone is fuelled by a 5,000mAh battery that comes with 10W fast charging support. This phone equips a face unlock and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for authentications. Other than this there is a dual SIM support Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, micro-USB, and a 3.5mm audio jack as connectivity options on the phone.

Google Cloud introduces new serverless Database Migration Service

Google Cloud has launched the new serverless Database Migration Service (DMS) as part of its vision to meet the modern needs in a way that’s easier, faster, more predictable, and more reliable. The tech giant has further revealed that enterprises across all industries are answering the call to move their business infrastructure, and with that their databases, to the cloud.

Asserting that the database migrations can be a challenge for enterprises, Andi Gutmans, General Manager and Vice President of Engineering, Databases, said, “That’s why we give our customers a uniquely easy, secure, and reliable experience with DMS. We worked with dozens of customers around the world, including Samsung Electronics, Adwerx, Affle, Cirruseo (Accenture), Guichê Virtual, and Ryde, to successfully migrate their production databases with minimal downtime using DMS. So, what is it exactly that makes DMS different?”

DMS provides a fast and seamless migration to Cloud SQL, the fully managed database service for MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server. By migrating to Cloud SQL, one not only benefit from its enterprise-grade availability, security, and stability, but you also get unique integrations with the rest of Google Cloud, including Google Kubernetes Engine and BigQuery. “We needed to create live dashboards built on top of BigQuery that pulled data from both on-premises and cloud sources. Google Cloud’s Database Migration Service made this easy for us,” says Sofiane Kihal, Engineer, Cirruseo (Accenture). “Using its continuous replication, we were able to migrate data to Cloud SQL and then query directly using federation from BigQuery. Additionally, using Cloud SQL as a managed service for MySQL has allowed us to reduce the time we spend on operations by over 75 percent.”

According to Google Cloud, “DMS provides high-fidelity, minimal downtime migrations for MySQL and PostgreSQL workloads. We designed it to be truly cloud-native—built by and for the cloud. DMS utilizes log shipping to replicate data at super-low latencies from the source database to the destination. It streams the initial snapshot of data, then catches up and continuously replicates new data as it arrives in the source.”

Stating that the source and destination are continuously up to date because they rely on the databases’ own native replication capabilities, Gutmans said, “This replication technique maximizes the fidelity of data transferred with very low latency. That means you can decide when you’re ready to promote your database, then just point your application to Cloud SQL as the primary database, with minimal downtime.”

Up until now, numerous leaks and reports have hinted that OnePlus 9 series is likely to run Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 along with AMOLED display. It will further be fitted with a center-punch screen and support 144Hz screen refresh rate. Besides this, the device is also expected to offer IP68 waterproof, NFC, dual stereo and other configurations. Mind you! It is also likely to enable 65W cable fast charge and 40W wireless fast charge.

Meanwhile, the OxygenOS Open Beta 9 has been rolled out for OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro smartphones with the introduction of October 2020 security patch. According to the official OnePlus Forums, the full changelog has revealed the following details:

  • Improved system stability and fixed general issues
  • Updated Android Security Patch to 2020.10

Camera

  • Fixed the flashback issue when switched to the front camera in particular cases

OnePlus further notified that this is beta software. As per the official OnePlus Forums, “These builds are sometimes not as stable as our official OTAs generally are. Apple to soon provide a fix for iPhone 12 hearing aid sound issues

Apple Support has now revealed if the Made for iPhone hearing device has sound quality issues when connected to an iPhone 12 model, the tech giant is aware of this issue and will provide a fix in a future software update.

According to Apple, “You might hear unexpected noise from some Made for iPhone hearing devices. When your Made for iPhone hearing device is connected to your iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, or iPhone 12 Pro Max, you might notice loud static, interrupted or intermittent audio, garbled audio. All that one has to ensure that they are using the latest version of iOS.”

According to a TechCrunch report, this feature to help visually impaired will be introduced on iPhone 12 Pro as well as iPhone Pro Max running the iOS 14.2. To temporarily disable people occlusion, remove that option from your app’s frameSemantics. Then, rerun your session to effect the configuration change.”

The tech giant further added that by default, virtual content covers anything in the camera feed. For example, when a person passes in front of a virtual object, the object is drawn on top of the person, which can break the illusion of the AR experience. And to cover your app’s virtual content with people that ARKit perceives in the camera feed, you enable people occlusion. Your app can then render a virtual object behind people who pass in front of the camera. ARKit accomplishes the occlusion by identifying regions in the camera feed where people reside, and preventing virtual content from drawing into that region’s pixels.

Arkit 4 also helps detect up to 100 images at a time and get an automatic estimate of the physical size of the object in the image. 3D object detection is more robust, as objects are better recognized in complex environments. And now, machine learning is used to detect planes in the environment even faster.

Vanish mode for Instagram and Facebook Messenger introduced

The popular social media giant Facebook has introduced a new messaging feature to Instagram and Facebook Messenger. The company has introduced its own version of a short-lived messaging feature called Vanish Mode. This feature works similarly to Disappearing messages on Snapchat and fleets on Twitter that automatically disappear after 24 hours. In addition to this, the photo-sharing app Instagram has also received some changes to its homepage that now includes the Reels tab and a Shop button to the navigation bar. Whereas the notification button for likes and comments has now been shifted to the top-right corner.

As per the latest blog post, Instagram and Facebook Messenger have been introduced with vanish mode. As the name suggests this feature will now allow the users to send messages that will disappear automatically. But it will only vanish after it is seen or read by the recipient and has left the chat.

“Sometimes a message is just spontaneous – something you want to say at the moment without worrying about it sticking around. That’s why we’re excited to introduce vanish mode on Messenger, which lets you send messages that disappear automatically. How it works is simple—messages disappear after they’re seen and you leave the chat,” the blog post says.

How to use vanish mode?

One can easily turn it on by swipe up on your mobile device in an existing chat thread and you’re in vanish mode. Swipe up again and you’re back to your regular chat. In addition to this, you can also share memes, GIFs, stickers or reactions to your friends without it staying in your chat history.

For privacy and security, this feature will only work for the people you’re connected to in a chat. The Vanish mode is also opt-in, so you choose whether to enter vanish mode with someone. If someone takes a screenshot of your chat while you’re using vanish mode, you’ll be notified. And as always, you can block someone and report a conversation if you feel unsafe.

At the moment Vanish mode is available on Messenger and Instagram to users in the US and some of the other countries and the company promises to roll out to other markets as well.

Reels tab and a Shop button

While on the other hand, Facebook has also brought some changes to its homepage. It has now introduced a Reels tab and a Shop tab. As per the official blog post, the Reels tab will make it easier for the users to discover short, fun videos from creators across the globe. While the  Shop tab will also be a better way to connect with brands and creators and discover products you love. You can find products by creators you love, shop on Instagram, and support small businesses. You can find personalized recommendations, editors’ picks curated by our @shop channel, shoppable videos, new product collections, and more.

Vivo Y51 (2020) to launch in India soon, bags BIS certification

The Chinese smartphone company Vivo a few months back launched Vivo Y51, 2020 model, in Pakistan. Now the company is planning to bring the device to the Indian market. Recently the mid-range phone model number Vivo V2030 has received BIS certification from the India regulatory. The phone comes with an AMOLED display and a 48-megapixel quad rear camera setup. Moreover, it comes equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC and also runs Android 10.

Recently Vivo Y51 (2020) has bagged BIS certification which clearly hints at imminent launch in India. The model number Vivo V2030 has cleared the BIS and expects the model number no other information has not been revealed. Similarly, with the same model number, the device has also been spotted on the Indonesian Telecom certification website where the moniker of the device clearly mentions Vivo Y51.

To recall Vivo V51(2020) was introduced in a single 4GB RAM and 128GB storage model in Pakistan priced at PKR 36,999 that translates to Rs 16,300. In India, the company is expected to launch the device at the same pricing and in same colour options of Mystic Black, Jazzy Blue and Dreamy White

Coming to the specifications Vivo Y51 (2020) features a full-HD+ 6.38-inch AMOLED display with 1,080×2,340 pixels resolution with a waterdrop-style notch to house a selfie camera. The smartphone also sports an in-display fingerprint sensor and an Always-on Display mode. The Vivo smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The internal storage can be expanded up to 256GB of storage using a microSD card. The mobile phone runs Funtouch OS 10, based on Android 10.

For the photos and videos, Vivo Y51 (2020) comes with a quad rear camera setup that includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture. In addition to this, there is an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens and a 2-megapixel portrait sensor. The camera set up includes palm capture, voice control, slow-motion recording, super macro, super night mode, and AI face beauty camera modes. While on the front there is a 16-megapixel selfie camera.

In addition to this Vivo Y51 (2020) is fuelled by a 4,500mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. It has dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Soon after the news that PUBG MOBILE is returning to India in a new avatar dubbed as PUBG MOBILE India, several reports have revealed, several reports have stated that pre-registration has kick-started for Android as well as iOS users via TapTap game-sharing platform. Mind you! TapTap has further notified PUBG Corporation as the developer of PUBG MOBILE India. However, there is no confirmation about the pre-registration from the official sources yet. All that has been shared on the official Facebook page of PUBG Mobile India is: “Coming Soon”.

According to TapTap game-sharing platform, the details of PUBG MOBILE India reads, “Drop-in, gear up, and compete. Survive epic 100-player classic battles, payload mode, and more. Please stay tuned.” The game description further added “PUBG MOBILE delivers the most intense free-to-play multiplayer action on mobile. Drop in, gear up, and compete. Survive epic 100-player classic battles, payload mode and fast-paced 4v4 team deathmatch and zombie modes. Survival is key and the last one standing wins. When duty calls, fire at will!”

With a total 9.9 rating on TapTap, it was stated that PUBG MOBILE will return in India as PUBG Mobile India. It was also revealed that PUBG MOBILE plans to provide a secure and healthy gameplay environment as well as India-exclusive events. At the time of filing the story, 126991 pre-registrations have been completed on TapTap game-sharing community.

After the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology blocked 118 mobile apps, which includes ‘PUBG MOBILE Nordic Map: Livik’ as well as ‘PUBG MOBILE LITE’ in September, owing to prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order, PUBG Corporation had terminated the access for users in the country starting October 30.

In a post on its official Facebook page for Indian audience, PUBG Mobile had then announced that Tencent Games, which was the authorized publishing and distribution partner of the game in the country, “will terminate all service and access for users in India to PUBG MOBILE Nordic Map: Livik and PUBG MOBILE Lite (together, “PUBG Mobile”) on October 30, 2020. The rights to publish PUBG MOBILE in India will be returned to the owner of the PUBG intellectual property.”

Earlier in September this year, PUBG Corporation had further asserted that it is committed to provide its unique battle royale experience to a global audience and hopes to continue engaging with its passionate player base in India as well. Asserting that Instagram has always focussed on young people and creators because they’re trendsetters, Adam Mosseri, Head of Instagram, said, “Change is happening quickly right now, including how both of these groups use Instagram and engage with the world. This year, with the pandemic and much of the world sheltering in place, we’ve seen an explosion in short, entertaining videos on Instagram. We’ve also seen an incredible amount of shopping move online, with more and more people buying online and young people looking to their favourite creators for recommendations on what to buy.”

In August this year, Instagram had first launched Reels, which is a new way to create and discover short, entertaining videos on Instagram. Reels enables the users to create fun videos to share with your friends or anyone on the Facebook-owned photos and video sharing app. All that has to be done is record and edit 15-second multi-clip videos with audio, effects and new creative tools. The headphones are custom-tuned with 7.1 surround sound for PC and PS4 gamers. The new headset has been launched at a competitive price and comes equipped with 53mm drivers and a detachable noise-cancellation microphone. The audio device has an aluminum frame with HyperX Signature Memory Foam and Premium Leatherette finish.

The all-new HyperX Cloud Core Gaming Headset is now up for sale and has been listed on the e-commerce platform Amazon in India. The gaming headset is priced in India at Rs 6,490. The device will be available in an all-black colour option.

Starting with the design the HyperX Cloud Core Gaming Headset comes with an aluminum frame construction for durability and stability that can be adjusted accordingly. For longer duration wear and comfort the company has provided soft leatherette and plush memory foam. For connectivity, it has a 3.5 mm connector for devices with 3.5mm audio jacks. This agreement will allow PUBG to host the game on Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform. PUBG’s ordeal in India is soon to become a thing of the past. The parent company of the popular game has announced that it is going to relaunch a new game called PUBG Mobile India to cater to the Indian market. The game is making a comeback after it was banned in September by the Indian government. Due to this, the PUBG Corporation also cut its ties with Shenzhen-based Tencent Games in India by taking the rights to publish the game as its authorised PUBG Mobile franchise.

According to the company, to maintain privacy and security of Indian player’s data, it will conduct regular audits and verifications on the storage systems holding Indian users’ personally identifiable information. This will reinforce security and ensure that their data is safely managed.

PUBG Mobile India promises to make a comeback with a healthy gameplay environment. Over that, in-game content will be improved and tailored to reflect local needs. To cater Indian players the game now is being set in a virtual simulation training ground, new characters automatically start with cloths, and green hit effects to reflect the virtual nature of the game. More importantly, the company will include a feature that places restrictions on game time to promote healthy gameplay habits for younger players.

In addition to this, PUBG Corporation has also announced the creation of an Indian subsidiary to enhance communications and services with players. It will establish a local office here and the subsidiary will be responsible for hiring over 100 employees specializing in business, esports, and game development it will establish.

Also, Krafton PUBG Corporation will make investments worth USD 100 million in India to cultivate the local video game, esports, entertainment, and IT industries. Outside of the manufacturing industry, these investments will represent the largest made by a Korean company. Additionally, the company has also planned to make investments by hosting India-exclusive esports events, which will feature the biggest tournaments, the largest prize pools, and the best tournament productions.

Google updating its storage policy, to put an end to free unlimited storage in 2021

As per the latest Google blog post, it is going to put an end to its free unlimited storage service for Google Photos. This will come into effect from June next year. The company has put a capping of 15GB and once you exceed the limit the users will be charged a fee. Also, this capping is not valid on the high-quality photos and videos already stored.

From June 1, 2021, Google Photos will be changing its unlimited High-quality storage policy. As per the company any new photos and videos, you upload will count toward the free 15 GB of storage that comes with every Google Account or the additional storage you’ve purchased as a Google One member. For expanding your storage, the plans start at $1.99 per month in the U.S. for 100 GB of storage and include additional member benefits like access to Google experts, shared family plans and more.

Whereas any High-quality photos or videos that have been uploaded before June 1, 2021, will not count toward your 15GB of free storage. So those content stored before will be considered free and will be exempted from the further storage limit on Google Photos. In case you still want to verify your backup quality at any time in the Photos app by going to back up & sync in Settings.

Other than the high quality if you upload your photos and videos in Original quality the changes will not affect the user the company says. However, the company will still continue to count the data in your free storage that will now be limited to 15GB across your Google Account. 

As per the company, those users having Google Pixel devices will be exempted from this change even after June 1, 2021.

The company in its blog post said, “This change does not take effect for another six months, so you don’t need to do anything right now. And once this change does take effect on June 1, 2021, over 80 percent of you should still be able to store roughly three more years worth of memories with your free 15 GB of storage. As your storage nears 15 GB, we will notify you in the app and follow up by email.”

To check this change won’t affect you, you can check your storage in a  personalized estimate . This will let you know how frequently you back up photos, videos and other content to your Google Account.

After this change comes into effect a new free tool in the Google Photos app will be accessible to easily manage your backed-up photos and videos. Using this tool, you can review the memories you want to keep while also surfacing shots you might prefer to delete, like dark or blurry photos or large videos. If you are running out of storage you can expand it through Google One.

YouTube Down: The popular video streaming service stopped working worldwide

As we woke up this morning, we found out that YouTube is not working. Then we checked out the internet connection but that was also working fine. But when we checked into Twitter we found out that it’s not just us but everyone is furious over the YouTube down issue. At the time of writing the issue still persisted and we also checked the status on DownDetector and there it also confirmed that YouTube has run into issues.

Actually, you would be able to search and browse on YouTube but the issue appears to be with the loading of the videos. So, everyone is having trouble watching videos on the platform. The YouTube team via Twitter also confirmed the trouble and currently it is working on fixing this issue.

It says, “If you’re having trouble watching videos on YouTube right now, you’re not alone – our team is aware of the issue and working on a fix. We’ll follow up here with any updates.”

YouTube’s other services have also been affected which includes YouTube TV and movies and TV shows. According to the Verge, the TV shows you’d purchase through Google TV (formerly known as Google Play Movies & TV) also hit and are not able to load.

YouTube down

As we said earlier DownDetector is also showing that YouTube is down and users have taken to the platform to report that the Google video streaming platform is not working. The lodged reports confirm that the outage is worldwide. Those who are unaware of DownDetecter is a website that monitors whether a site is working or not

When we checked the web platform the website successfully loaded but when we launched a video the buffer wheel kept showing. Also, the search bar and video thumbnails are working normally. It is worth noting that even YouTube also did not respond immediately to this outage. And when it responded it also didn’t make clear what has caused YouTube down. Also, this one of the most used and popular video streaming platforms and we are expecting the company should fix this issue immediately.
