Gaming subscription Apple Arcade has officially announced that Disney Melee Mania developed by Mighty Bear Games is arriving soon to the users. This is the company’s next major release that will be available on Apple devices this Christmas season. It will bring a host of popular Disney and Pixar animation characters such as Mickey Mouse, Frozone and more.
Announcing its collaboration with Disney and Pixar Apple commented, “Disney Melee Mania from Mighty Bear Games will be joining the more than 200 incredibly fun games on its popular gaming subscription service, Apple Arcade. According to the latest survey done by NortonLifeLock more than 4 in 5 Indian gamers have experienced a cyberattack. The survey has been conducted by The Harris Poll. In India, 75 percent of Indian gamers were impacted with the most common detection of malicious software and unauthorised access to an online gaming account on their devices.
The 2021 Norton Cyber Safety report said that among 703 Indian adults who play online games, three-quarters of surveyed Indian gamers have experienced a cyberattack on their gaming account, with the most common detecting malicious software on a gaming device and identified unauthorised access to an online gaming account. More than four in five which is 81 percent of those who experienced a cyberattack, also reported financial consequences with an average loss of Rs 7,894.
According to Nortan’s report, gamers are also willing to take risks with their own or others’ security in order to gain a competitive advantage. According to the findings, 2 in 5 Indian gamers would hack into the account of a friend, family member, or partner if they knew it would give them a competitive advantage.
In India 56 percent of respondents say they are at least somewhat likely to exploit a loophole or bug in a game to gain a competitive advantage and roughly 2 in 5 or more would consider paying to take possession of another user’s gaming account, installing cheats on their gaming account or gaming device or hacking into a random player’s gaming account.
Reportedly more than 6 in 10 gamers in India (62%) say they picked up gaming during the COVID-19 pandemic and many (60%) say the amount of time they spend gaming has increased since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
It is also stated that more than 2 in 5 gamers have been duped into jeopardising their personal security either by downloading malware onto a gaming device or being duped into sharing account information online. It should be noted that one in every five gamers has been doxed. (i.e., had personal information stolen and posted/shared publicly online, without their consent). Nearly 3 in 4 Indian gamers (72%) say that they would never fall for a gaming scam, and more than half (53%) agree that they don’t give much thought, if any, to the security of their gaming devices.
Ritesh Chopra, Director Sales and Field Marketing, India & SAARC Countries, NortonLifeLock said, “Our report reveals that online gaming is not all about fun and games. In the virtual field, we must take precautions to protect the information we share, to avoid becoming vulnerable to cyberattacks. With online gaming, come concerns including hidden fees and in-game currency, characters, or other items being lost or stolen, as our survey showed to be the case for over half of respondents (fees, 60%; in-game items, 58%). In these challenging times, it is crucial to stay updated and aware of the threats that can compromise your safety and privacy in this complex digital world.”

Krafton removed 25 lakh accounts to eradicate cheating on BGMI in less than a month
Cheating during online gaming is always unethical. Battlegrounds Mobile India has announced strict measures against illegal programs, cheats, cheaters and is still making efforts to keep the peace and has banned a large number of illegal accounts that engage in cheating and being a nuisance to others. According to Krafton, it has banned 25 lakh BGMI accounts over a 40 day period.
The company’s move is intended to eliminate cheating and cheaters from Battlegrounds Mobile India. Krafton in its announcement said, “Staying true to its zero-tolerance policy towards cheaters, KRAFTON Inc., the South Korean video gaming giant, has removed 25 Lakh accounts in just over a month to eradicate cheating on Battlegrounds Mobile India”.
It should be noted that since its last announcement between October 1 and November 10, Krafton has banned 25,19,692 accounts permanently and 7,06,319 accounts temporarily. To combat cheating, the South Korean developer has also listed out the steps taken to remove cheaters from Battlegrounds Mobile India who were using unfair means to beat out other players, therefore, undermining the overall experience.
Here are the steps taken by Krafton to remove cheaters from Battlegrounds Mobile India:
- More powerful cheat detection and banning mechanism, which allowed the system to follow cheaters in real-time and ban users who used unlawful methods.
- Permabans, which replaced all interim bans with permanent bans, leaving no possibility for a second chance.
- Manual verification and banning of accounts that use or promote illegal programs among high-rankers. The team is monitoring such accounts in real-time and banning them permanently if any illegal program is traced.
- Real-time monitoring of YouTube for any channels that promote illegal programs and blocking the channels immediately and if any cases are found.

Chinese premium smartphone company OnePlus has officially announced the arrival of the OnePlus Nord 2 Pac Man Edition in India. The latest edition comes with a new Pac Man branding along with a silver and blue colour panel. The biggest USP of the device is that its rear panel glows in the dark. The device has been designed in collaboration with BANDAI NAMCO Europe S.A.S. In addition to this, the handset includes Pac-Man themed wallpapers, games and more.

The screen also has HDR 10 support along with a DCI-P3 colour gamut and offers a 20:9 aspect ratio. The display is TUV Rheinland rated. The phone operates on Origin OS 1.0 on top of Android 11 out of the box. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC with Adreno 642L GPU with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. For the photos and videos, the iQoo Z5 Cyber Grid Edition is highlighted with a triple rear camera set-up that includes a 64-megapixel main sensor with an f/1.79 aperture. The set-up also housed an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and a 2-megapixel macro lens with f/2.4 aperture. For selfies, there is a 16-megapixel sensor with an f/2.45 aperture. In addition to this, the device comes with VC liquid cooling for temperature reduction, 4G game vibration along with the linear motor, and Ultra Game Mode 2.0 for gaming. For connectivity, there is 5G, tri-band W-Fi with 2.4 GHz, 5.1 GHz and 5.8GHz bands, Bluetooth v5.2, USB Type C port, USB OTG, GPS and 3.3mm headphone jack. The sensors on the phone include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, Face Wake unlock, gravity, ambient light, proximity, gyroscope and compass. The device also includes dual stereo speakers. The phone draws its power from a 5,000mAh battery that supports 44W flash charge fast charging tech. The official launch date for Redmi Note 11T 5G has been officially declared. The new smartphone is set to launch in India on November 20. The device is thought to be a rebranded version of Redmi Note 11 5G which was launched in India last month. The device has also been tipped several times but the recent rumour suggested that the upcoming phone will see some design changes. Apart from that, the device has been leaked several times ahead of the official announcement.
According to the Redmi latest media invite its upcoming smartphone Redmi Note 11T 5G will be launching in India on November 30. The timing and other launch details haven’t been revealed and are expected to be declared sometime later. Redmi has also created an event page for the smartphone highlighting the specs of the smartphone. The dedicated page depicts that the handset will come with 5G capabilities, improved cameras and a high refresh rate screen. Moreover, the phone will be powered by a faster processor and would include fast charging tech.
According to a report, Redmi Note 11T 5G will be featuring a 6.6-inch FHD+ display with 1,080×2400 pixels of resolution. The screen will have 90Hz refresh rate support and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. The upcoming smartphone is expected to be powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The device is said to be provided in three different configurations of 6GB RAM with 64GB storage, 6GB RAM with 128GB storage and 128GB memory and 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage options.
Leaks suggest that the Redmi Note 11T 5G will come in three colour options of Stardust White, Matte Balck and Aquamarine Blue. Apart from this, the device will equip a dual rear camera set that will include a 50-megapixel main sensor with an aperture of f/1.8 and an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle sensor. Upfront there will be a 16-megapixel camera sensor for selfies and video calling. In addition to that, there will be a 5,000mAh battery on board with 33W fast charging tech.
