HyperX Cloud Core gaming headset tuned by 7.1 surround sound and 53mm drivers launched in India
American electronics maker Kingston’s sub-brand HyperX has launched its new audio product in the Indian market. The company has announced the launch of its new gaming headset HyperX Cloud Core. The headphones are custom-tuned with 7.1 surround sound for PC and PS4 gamers. The new headset has been launched at a competitive price and comes equipped with 53mm drivers and a detachable noise-cancellation microphone. The audio device has an aluminum frame with HyperX Signature Memory Foam and Premium Leatherette finish.
The all-new HyperX Cloud Core Gaming Headset is now up for sale and has been listed on the e-commerce platform Amazon in India. The gaming headset is priced in India at Rs 6,490. The device will be available in an all-black colour option.
Starting with the design the HyperX Cloud Core Gaming Headset comes with an aluminum frame construction for durability and stability that can be adjusted accordingly. For longer duration wear and comfort the company has provided soft leatherette and plush memory foam. For connectivity, it has a 3.5 mm connector for devices with 3.5mm audio jacks. While the audio control box is compatible through USB to a PC or PS4 as it is a multi-platform compatible headset. The gaming headphones comes equipped with 53mm dynamic neodymium magnets drivers
That delivers a frequency response ranging from 15Hz to 25KHz along. In addition to this, it has a detachable noise-canceling microphone which adjusts easily for its uni-directional design. It also features an LED mic mute indicator, built-in mic monitoring along an optional foam pop filter.

PUBG comeback in India: Will now be known as PUBG Mobile India
After the ban, PUBG to soon make a comeback in India. The company confirmed it and the game will now be known as PUBG Mobile India. Apart from the new branding, the game has been specifically designed for Indian users. Recently, the game was in the news for its deal with Microsoft’s Azure that will be its next publisher, after the company cut its ties with the Chinese publisher Tencent. This agreement will allow PUBG to host the game on Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform. Those who are unaware of Azure, it is Microsoft’s public cloud computing service that focuses on privacy and data storage.
PUBG’s ordeal in India is soon to become a thing of the past. The parent company of the popular game has announced that it is going to relaunch a new game called PUBG Mobile India to cater to the Indian market. The game is making a comeback after it was banned in September by the Indian government. Due to this, the PUBG Corporation also cut its ties with Shenzhen-based Tencent Games in India by taking the rights to publish the game as its authorised PUBG Mobile franchise.
According to the company, to maintain privacy and security of Indian player’s data, it will conduct regular audits and verifications on the storage systems holding Indian users’ personally identifiable information. This will reinforce security and ensure that their data is safely managed.
PUBG Mobile India promises to make a comeback with a healthy gameplay environment. Over that, in-game content will be improved and tailored to reflect local needs. To cater Indian players the game now is being set in a virtual simulation training ground, new characters automatically start with cloths, and green hit effects to reflect the virtual nature of the game. More importantly, the company will include a feature that places restrictions on game time to promote healthy gameplay habits for younger players.
In addition to this, PUBG Corporation has also announced the creation of an Indian subsidiary to enhance communications and services with players. It will establish a local office here and the subsidiary will be responsible for hiring over 100 employees specializing in business, esports, and game development it will establish.
Also, Krafton PUBG Corporation will make investments worth USD 100 million in India to cultivate the local video game, esports, entertainment, and IT industries. Outside of the manufacturing industry, these investments will represent the largest made by a Korean company. Additionally, the company has also planned to make investments by hosting India-exclusive esports events, which will feature the biggest tournaments, the largest prize pools, and the best tournament productions.

Google updating its storage policy, to put an end to free unlimited storage in 2021
As per the latest Google blog post, it is going to put an end to its free unlimited storage service for Google Photos. This will come into effect from June next year. The company has put a capping of 15GB and once you exceed the limit the users will be charged a fee. Also, this capping is not valid on the high-quality photos and videos already stored.
From June 1, 2021, Google Photos will be changing its unlimited High-quality storage policy. As per the company any new photos and videos, you upload will count toward the free 15 GB of storage that comes with every Google Account or the additional storage you’ve purchased as a Google One member. For expanding your storage, the plans start at $1.99 per month in the U.S. for 100 GB of storage and include additional member benefits like access to Google experts, shared family plans and more.
Whereas any High-quality photos or videos that have been uploaded before June 1, 2021, will not count toward your 15GB of free storage. So those content stored before will be considered free and will be exempted from the further storage limit on Google Photos. In case you still want to verify your backup quality at any time in the Photos app by going to back up & sync in Settings.
Other than the high quality if you upload your photos and videos in Original quality the changes will not affect the user the company says. However, the company will still continue to count the data in your free storage that will now be limited to 15GB across your Google Account.
As per the company, those users having Google Pixel devices will be exempted from this change even after June 1, 2021.
The company in its blog post said, “This change does not take effect for another six months, so you don’t need to do anything right now. And once this change does take effect on June 1, 2021, over 80 percent of you should still be able to store roughly three more years worth of memories with your free 15 GB of storage. As your storage nears 15 GB, we will notify you in the app and follow up by email.”
To check this change won’t affect you, you can check your storage in a personalized estimate . This will let you know how frequently you back up photos, videos and other content to your Google Account.
After this change comes into effect a new free tool in the Google Photos app will be accessible to easily manage your backed-up photos and videos. Using this tool, you can review the memories you want to keep while also surfacing shots you might prefer to delete, like dark or blurry photos or large videos. If you are running out of storage you can expand it through Google One.

Fujifilm X-T200 mirrorless camera now available in black colour option
Fujifilm X-T200 a compact and lightweight mirrorless camera is now available in a new Black colour variant. Before this, it was available in India in three colours — Silver, Dark Silver and Champagne Gold. Also, the camera was introduced at a Rs 66,999 but on Amazon, it is being sold at a discounted price of Rs 17,000. The key feature of the Fujifilm mirrorless camera is that it offers a fully articulating touchscreen and 4K video recording.

With an aim to bring advanced 5G capabilities and experiences to the mass market, MediaTek has launched its new 7nm SoC-designed Dimensity 700 5G smartphone chipset. The introduction of the Dimensity 700 to MediaTek’s Dimensity family of 5G chips enables smartphone manufacturer a full suite of options for 5G smartphone models in order to make 5G more accessible for consumers across the globe.
“With our expanded Dimensity portfolio we’re bringing the latest 5G capabilities to every smartphone tier so more people can enjoy 5G experiences. The Dimensity 700 has an impressive mix of 5G connectivity features, advanced camera capabilities like night shot enhancements and multiple voice assistant support, all in a super power-efficient design,” said Dr. JC Hsu, Corporate VP and GM of MediaTek’s Wireless Communications Business Unit.
MediaTek further revealed that the Dimensity 700 comprises of advanced connectivity features that comprises of 5G Carrier Aggregation (2CC 5G-CA) and 5G dual SIM dual standby (DSDS) users access to the fastest speeds and 5G-exclusive Voice over New Radio (VoNR) services from either connection. On the processing power side, the chip integrates two Arm Cortex-A76 big cores in its octa-core CPU and operates at up to 2.2GHz.
The Dimensity 700 delivers advanced power-saving technologies to improve battery life. It includes UltraSave Network Environment Detection, MediaTek 5G UltraSave OTA Content Awareness, Dynamic BWP and Connected Mode DRX. The built-in technology intelligently manages a device’s 5G connection so you can do more and charge your device less often. It offers 90Hz high resolution FullHD+ displays and ultra-fast refresh rates to reduce blur in animations, scrolling and games for the best user experience.
Interestingly, MediaTek Dimensity 700 also supports 48MP or 64MP main camera sensors with AI-bokeh, AI-color and AI-beauty features. In addition to this, the integrated hardware-based imaging accelerators enable multi-frame noise reduction so users can capture high quality shots with low noise, even during the night time.
As far as multiple voice assistant support is concerned, MediaTek Dimensity 700 supports voice assistants from global brands such as Alibaba, Amazon, Baidu, Google and Tencent to give device makers more configuration options.

OTT content by Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney+ Hotstar to be regulated by Government: Ministry of Information and Broadcasting
According to a new amendment streaming services in India such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney+ Hotstar will be regulated by the government. As per the latest jurisdiction, online news platforms will also be policed by the authority.
The latest amendment made to the government of India (Allocation of Business) Rules 1961 has been signed into law by the President of India Ram Nath Kovind. As per the latest notification the following sub-heading and entries shall be inserted:
“VA. DIGITAL/ONLINE MEDIA
22A. Films and Audio-Visual programmes made available by online content providers.
22B. News and current affairs content on online platforms.”.
As per the latest notification, all the digital content providers will be brought under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. In addition to this, the authority will regulate online audio as well as visual programmes including current affairs content. Before this Press Council of India was controlling print media; News Broadcasters Association is responsible for regulation television news channels while Advertising Standards Council of India looks after advertisements and Central Board of Film Certification regulates films. Until now these were no regulatory body assigned for monitoring digital visual and audio content of the digital content providers such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Hotstar. Therefore, all the unfiltered content was available to the public at large. Nor any of the OTT platforms signed the self-regulation provided by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting since February 2020.
Last month the Supreme Court issued a notice to the Centre seeking a response on a PIL for regulating the OTT platforms in the country. The PIL was filed by advocates Shashank Shekhar Jha and Apurva Arhatia in the apex court seeking a regulatory to monitor and manage the content on OTT/Streaming and digital media platforms.
The Plea said “With cinemas theatres unlikely to open anytime soon in the country, OTT/Streaming and different digital media platforms have surely given a way out for filmmakers and artists to release their content without being worried about getting clearance certificates for their films and series from the censor board,”

Samsung regains top spot in global smartphone market in Q3 2020: Canalys
The worldwide smartphone shipments touched 348.0 million units in the third quarter (Q3) of 2020, which registered a 1 percent fall year on year. However, as compared to Q2 2020, the shipment has increased by 22 percent in the quarter under review. Looking at the smartphone makers, Samsung regained the lead as its global shipment increased 2 percent to 80.2 million units.
Stating that Samsung suffered in Q2 due to its dependence on offline retail, but Q3 saw a major recovery, Canalys Analyst Shengtao Jin. “Its momentum was fueled by three key factors:
- Firstly, in many regions it saw pent-up demand from Q2 spill over into Q3.
- Secondly, it regained second place in India, as its Korean brand was shielded from anti-Chinese sentiment.
- Thirdly, Samsung ramped up its launches of low-to-mid-range devices, and introduced other incentives, such as discounts and free online deliveries, to stimulate demand.
Honor 10X Lite with a quad-camera set up launched globally
Huawei’s sub-brand Honor announced the launch of its new smartphone under its X-series. The company has globally launched Honor X10 Lite. The device is a toned-down variant of Honor 10X which was launched back in May and the successor of Honor 9X Lite. The phone is powered by HiSilicon Kirin 710A SoC and features a hole-punch display. In addition to this, there is a quad rear camera set up. Before the announcement of the global launch, the mobile phone has already made its debut in Saudi Arabia, Russia and other markets.
Honor 10X Lite specifications
The Honor 10X Lite runs MagicUI 3.1 based on the Android 10 operating system. There is no GooglePlay and other Google apps instead the company offers Huawei AppGallery. The device features a 6.67-inch full-HD+ display with 1,080×2,400 pixels of resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 710A processor coupled with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable internal storage option.
In terms of imaging, the Honor 10X Lite comes with a quad rear camera setup that includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture. In addition to this, there is a secondary 8-megapixel lens with f/2.4 aperture, a 2-megapixel depth sensor and a 2-megapixel macro lens. For taking selfies and videos mobile phone sports an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture.
The Honor 10X Lite connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, and a USB Type-C port for charging. For sensors, there is an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, a proximity sensor in addition to a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The device houses a 5,000mAh battery with 22.5W Honor SuperCharge fast charging support.
Honor 10X Lite price and availability
Honor 10X Lite has been introduced with a price tag of EUR 229.90 that translates to Rs 20,200. In addition to this, the company will be offering a EUR 30 discount that translates to Rs 2,600 for the select markets. The phone will be offered in Emerald Green, Icelandic Frost, and Midnight Black colour options. The device will be available in Russia, France, and Germany and other markets however the company is yet to say on the Indian availability of the smartphone.
Like we mentioned earlier Honor 10X Lite was introduce in Saudi Arabia first and there it retails at SAR 769 that translates to Rs 15,200 for the 4GB RAM with 128GB storage variant.

YouTube Music has rolled out a new feature to its platform. The company has introduced an activity bar that will bring personalisation to your playlist. Instagram rolling out new AR effects for Indian users this Diwali
Even though it may not be a typical Diwali this year, to make it exciting the Photo Sharing app Instagram has begun rolling out new augmented reality (AR) effects for all its users across India. The new AR filter is called ‘Share Your Light’. Also, the social media platform has also collaborated with content creators such as Shirley Setia, Kusha Kapila and Arjun Kanungo for new IGTV shows.
In the past Instagram has been launching AR filters and GIFs for various occasions in India such as Holi, Navratri among others. Recently Instagram released some new AR filters, gif stickers and content programming for Durga Puja. And now this Diwali social media platform has come up with a new augmented reality (AR) effect called ‘Share Your Light’ for the Indian users. This AR Diwali filter will be available in seven Indian languages including English, Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu and are now up on its platform in India.
How to use the Instagram Diwali effect?
To use the AR effect for Diwali the users need to open the gallery and search for ‘festive diya’. The new art effects will include designs inspired by mandalas, diyas, festive lights and colours. Rockstar Games confirms GTA 5 backwards compatibility on PS5 and Xbox Series S|X
As people across the world are gearing up to bring home the much-talked about gaming consoles Microsoft Xbox Series X|S and Sony PlayStation 5, news is confirmed that the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One versions of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2 can be played on these latest consoles through backward compatibility.
In a latest report, Rockstar Games has updated, “If you own a disc-based copy of any backward compatible game, you’ll be able to insert that disc directly into your new PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X (excludes PlayStation 5 Digital Edition and Xbox Series S consoles). Meanwhile, digital game owners will have instant access to download any compatible Rockstar Games titles they already have tied to their PlayStation Network or Xbox Live accounts. On PlayStation 5 these will be available from the Your Collection section of your Game Library and on Xbox Series X|S from the Ready to Install section.”
The gamers can transfer the saved files and full games through LAN cables, using Wi-Fi or through USB storage. Furthermore, it was also revealed that one can even transfer the most recent cloud save tied to the player’s PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live account. The player might want to make sure cloud saves are enabled on your PlayStation 4 or Xbox One console before playing on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S.
Mind you! The current progress and accomplishments in both Grand Theft Auto Online and Red Dead Online will also carry over, provided you are using the same PlayStation Network or Xbox Live account on the new console. All you need to ensure is that your accounts are properly linked.
It was also revealed that all previous backward compatible Rockstar Games titles on Xbox One, will also be backward compatible on the Xbox Series X|S. The list comprises of the following games:

Price drop: Samsung Galaxy Note 10 now available at up to Rs 25,000 discount in India
Samsung Galaxy Note 10 was launched in India last year. The device is the predecessor of the recently launched Galaxy Note 20 series followed by the launch the price of the Note 10 has been reduced by Rs 25,000 in India. This price drop is accessible through offline retailers only.
According to a report Samsung Galaxy Note 10 has received a price cut of Rs 25,000. The device is now retailing at Rs 45,000. This price cut is said to be available across all the offline stores in the country. Whereas on the company’s website the smartphone is listed for Rs 57,100 therefore down from Rs. 12,899. Notably, all the three-colour options Aura Black, Aura Glow, and Aura Red have received a price cut via offline channels whereas only Aura White and Aura Red options are available at a discounted price on the company’s website. To recall the device was introduced in India last year at Rs 69,999 for the 8GB RAM with a 256GB storage option.

Asus introduces Intel-powered laptops in VivoBook Ultra and ZenBook series
With an aim to elevate user experience keeping in mind the needs of the Gen Z, ASUS has recently announced the launch of the latest lineup of Intel powered laptops consisting of VivoBook Ultra 14/15 (X413/X513), VivoBook Ultra K15 (K513), and ZenBook 14 (UX425). Equipped with the latest 11th Gen Intel Core Processors, the Taiwanese company claimed that the blazingly fast laptops offer optimized performance, immersive visuals, and unrivalled overall excellence.
