According to Google, “Taking part in this experiment is simple. Using a smartphone, head over to g.co/SoundsofIndia and you will see an interactive web app that steps you through the process. You will first be able to hear the national anthem, giving you a sense of the pitch and tempo. Next, you’ll see a screen with the lyrics of the national anthem, which get highlighted to help you sing in rhythm — much like you would with a karaoke track. After you’ve sung, pick your favourite Indian instrument and in a few moments you’ll have your own version of the national anthem — as sung by you but in the sound of your favourite Indian instrument — downloaded and ready to share. Finally, you can join scores of others and submit your rendition to this experiment.”

In the June Future of Gaming digital event, Sony announced an array of PlayStation 5 peripherals and accessories that will be launching this holiday season. Now, Sony has revealed how existing PlayStation 4 peripherals are compatible with the next-gen system.
According to Sony, Specialty peripherals, such as officially licensed racing wheels, arcade sticks, and flight sticks, will work with PS5 games and supported PS4 games. Besides this, the Platinum and Gold Wireless Headsets, as well as third-party headsets that connect via USB port or audio jack, will work on PS5 (the headset companion app is not compatible with PS5). It was further revealed that the DualShock 4 wireless controller and PlayStation officially licensed third-party gamepad controllers will work with supported PS4 games.
Additionally, Sony revealed that both the PS Move Motion Controllers and the PlayStation VR Aim Controller will work with supported PS VR games on PS5. Mind you! Sony also notified that not all PlayStation officially licensed or third-party peripherals/accessories may work on PS5.
If you are wondering that DualShock 4 work with PS5 games, Sony reveals that it won’t work as PS5 games should take advantage of the new capabilities and features that includes the DualSense wireless controller.
Moreover, PlayStation Camera will work with PS5 for playing supported PS VR games. It will require a PlayStation Camera adaptor that will be provided at no additional cost to PS VR users. More details on how to get the adaptor will be announced at a later date.
Meanwhile, Sony also revealed that State of Play will return on August with a focus on third-party-published games coming to PS4 and PS VR. The company also has a few PS5 game updates on third-party and indie titles that the fans last saw in June’s PS5 showcase. Mind you! Communication systems across the world are evolving to support customers’ changing needs owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, Microsoft has announced that its customers can now scale the Teams meeting up to 20,000 participants to deliver online meetings and events at a much broader scale.
“Reach larger audiences to stay connected with your employees, customers, and partners. When building this capability, we were focused on your meeting experience, making sure that even as the meeting scales it is still easy to manage and listen to the speakers. Therefore, we limited the size of interactive meetings to 1,000 participants, with a seamless shift to a ‘view only’ mode after the limit is met,” said Nicole Herskowitz, Teams General Manager, Microsoft.
The tech giant further revealed that each of these new capabilities will be enabled with the new Advanced Communications plan, which can be added to any Microsoft 365 or Office 365 paid subscription, and is available this week. In mid-August, customers will get Advanced Communications 60-day free trial via Teams Admin Center now or via Microsoft Teams website.
Under the new Advanced Communications set of capabilities, Microsoft gives employees 1:1 connections with Teams Calling. Connecting 1:1 with colleagues, customers and partners is important, especially when meeting face-to-face can be challenging. Employees in any organization can easily call each other from Teams without a phone number. As per Microsoft, “For your employees who use phone numbers to make and receive calls with customers, partners, and vendors, those numbers need to be with them, wherever they are. With Teams Calling, a cloud-based phone system, employees can continue to do this whether they are in the office, working from home, or some combination of the two.”

After a conversation between Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and President Donald J. Trump, Microsoft is prepared to continue discussions to explore a purchase of TikTok in the United States. According to an official blog post, “Microsoft fully appreciates the importance of addressing the President’s concerns. It is committed to acquiring TikTok subject to a complete security review and providing proper economic benefits to the United States, including the United States Treasury.”
In weeks ahead, Microsoft will move quickly to pursue discussions with TikTok’s parent company, ByteDance. The tech giants these discussions no later than September 15, 2020. During this process, Microsoft looks forward to continuing dialogue with the United States Government, including with the President.
The discussions with ByteDance will build upon a notification made by Microsoft and ByteDance to the Committee Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS). The two companies have provided notice of their intent to explore a preliminary proposal that would involve a purchase of the TikTok service in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand and would result in Microsoft owning and operating TikTok app in these markets. Microsoft may invite other American investors to participate on a minority basis in this purchase.
According to Microsoft, “This new structure would build on the experience TikTok users currently love, while adding world-class security, privacy, and digital safety protections. The operating model for the service would be built to ensure transparency to users as well as appropriate security oversight by governments in these countries.”
Among other measures, Microsoft would ensure that all private data of TikTok’s American users is transferred to and remains in the United States. To the extent that any such data is currently stored or backed-up outside the United States, Microsoft would ensure that this data is deleted from servers outside the country after it is transferred.
Microsoft appreciates the US Government’s and President Trump’s personal involvement as it continues to develop strong security protections for the country. These discussions are preliminary and there can be no assurance that a transaction which involves Microsoft will proceed.

In the first splashdown of an American crew spacecraft in 45 years, SpaceX’s Crew Dragon, carrying NASA astronauts Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley, splashed down in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Pensacola, Florida at 2:48 p.m. EDT on August 2, 2020 for the first time in a commercially built and operated American crew spacecraft, returning from the International Space Station to complete a test flight that marks a new era in human spaceflight.
Mind you! Behnken and Hurley’s return was the first splashdown for American astronauts since Thomas Stafford, Vance Brand, and Donald “Deke” Slayton landed in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Hawaii on July 24, 1975, at the end of the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project.
According to NASA, The spacecraft was recovered by SpaceX and brought aboard the recovery ship ‘Go Navigator’ after returning from the International Space Station on completing a test flight that marks a new era in human spaceflight. After returning to shore, the astronauts immediately will fly back to Houston.
“Welcome home, Bob and Doug! Congratulations to the NASA and SpaceX teams for the incredible work to make this test flight possible. It’s a testament to what we can accomplish when we work together to do something once thought impossible. Partners are key to how we go farther than ever before and take the next steps on daring missions to the Moon and Mars,” said NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine.
NASA’s SpaceX Demo-2 test flight was launched May 30 from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. After reaching orbit, Behnken and Hurley named their Crew Dragon spacecraft “Endeavour” as a tribute to the first space shuttle each astronaut had flown aboard.
“Congratulations to the entire SpaceX and NASA team on such an extraordinary mission. We could not be more proud to see Bob and Doug safely back home—we all appreciate their dedication to this mission and helping us start the journey towards carrying people regularly to low Earth orbit and on to the Moon and Mars. And I really hope they enjoyed the ride,” said SpaceX President and Chief Operating Officer Gwynne Shotwell.
Behnken and Hurley participated in a number of scientific experiments, spacewalks and public engagement events during their 62 days aboard station. Overall, the astronaut duo spent 64 days in orbit, completed 1,024 orbits around Earth and traveled 27,147,284 statute miles. The astronauts contributed more than 100 hours of time to supporting the orbiting laboratory’s investigations.
The Demo-2 test flight is part of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program, which has worked with the U.S. aerospace industry to launch astronauts on American rockets and spacecraft from American soil to the space station for the first time since 2011. This is SpaceX’s final test flight and is providing data on the performance of the Falcon 9 rocket, Crew Dragon spacecraft and ground systems, as well as in-orbit, docking, splashdown, and recovery operations.
The completion of Demo-2 and the review of the mission and spacecraft pave the way for NASA to certify SpaceX’s crew transportation system for regular flights carrying astronauts to and from the space station. SpaceX is readying the hardware for the first rotational mission, called Crew-1, later this year. This mission would occur after NASA certification, which is expected to take about six weeks.
Mind you! The goal of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program is safe, reliable and cost-effective transportation to and from the International Space Station. This could allow for additional research time and increase the opportunity for discovery aboard humanity’s testbed for exploration, including helping NASA prepare for human exploration of the Moon and Mars.

The first release of a new global research report from Intel and Lenovo finds that technology will play an integral role in achieving diversity and inclusion (D&I) in the workplace of the future.
“Intel has a longstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion. We believe that transparency is key, and our goal is to see our representation mirror the markets and customers we serve. Just as we apply our engineering mindset to create the world’s leading technological innovations, we do the same with our D&I strategies, using data to inform our decisions and sharing it transparently to drive clear accountability and deliver results across the industry,” said Barbara Whye, chief diversity & inclusion officer and vice president of Social Impact and Human Resources at Intel.
“We know that to truly progress D&I, it takes companies working together, and being a global company, this work can’t be limited to the US only. That’s why with both companies sharing a rich history of collaboration, we decided to extend our partnership and conduct a global survey,” added Barbara.
The study explores how people around the world view D&I in their personal and professional lives, and their perspective on the role technology plays to address systematic inequities, create more access and enable growth.
The findings within the technology chapter suggest that, if a more diverse and inclusive workplace is the goal, technology has the potential to get us there, as it facilitates human connection, understanding, and ultimately, empathy.
According to the research by Intel and Lenovo, nearly 89 percent of respondents in China and 75 percent in the United States say a company’s diversity and inclusion policies are “extremely” or “very” important when deciding where to apply and whether to accept an offer.
In the US, parents are more likely than non-parents to view flexible work hours as a prominent impact of technology in the workplace by a 12-point margin. Respondents from higher income brackets are more likely to agree that tech plays an “extremely large role” in improving diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
More than 80 percent of employees in Brazil and China agree that artificial intelligence can be used to make the workplace more diverse and inclusive, as do half of respondents in the US, UK and Germany.
Lenovo and Intel’s Diversity and Inclusion in the Global Workplace study explores the attitudes of approximately 5,096 respondents across five key geographic markets of China, the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom and Brazil between December 19, 2019 and January 7, 2020.

The UV Sterilizer automatically switches off after 10 minutes, allowing users to sanitize their belongings without any worry. The device comes with a 10W Wireless Charger that can charge the Galaxy smartphone, Galaxy Buds or other devices. Moreover, the charging continues even after sanitization is done so that when you pick up your device, you are sure it is disinfected, charged and ready to use. Additionally, Samsung revealed that any device with Qi-compatible wireless charging can be charged.
As far as availability is concerned, Samsung UV Sterilizer will be up for sale early August 2020 at all retail channels, including Samsung official online store Samsung Shop.
With a vision to increase transparency into how digital advertising works and ensure that people’s choices about the use of their data are respected, Google has shared updates on its work in these areas, including new tools that provide people more information about the ads they see.
“We’re also introducing new resources for marketers and publishers that offer guidance on how to navigate today’s privacy environment, along with real-world examples from brands and media companies who are delivering effective, privacy-forward ad experiences that use data responsibly,” Mike Schulman, VP, Ads Privacy and Safety.
For many years Google has offered a feature called ‘Why this ad’, where from an icon in a digital ad, users can get more information on some of the factors that were used to select the ad for them, or choose to stop seeing that ad. There are over 15 million user interactions per day with ‘Why this ad’ as people seek to learn more about and control the ads they see, and Google recently extended this feature to ads on connected TVs.
“Over the next few months, we’ll be making improvements to the experience with a new feature called ‘About this ad’, which will also show users the verified name of the advertiser behind each ad. About this ad will initially be available for display ads purchased through Google Ads and Display & Video 360, and we’ll bring it to other ad surfaces throughout 2021,” as per a Google Blog post.
In order to provide people with detailed information about all the ads they see on the web, we’re releasing a new tool called Ads Transparency Spotlight, now available to try out as an alpha extension from the Chrome Web Store.
Furthermore, Google stated that Chrome continues to explore more privacy-forward ways for the web browser to support digital ads with the Privacy Sandbox open standards initiative. As part of the Privacy Sandbox, several proposals have been published for new APIs that would solve for use cases like ad selection, conversion measurement, and fraud protection in a way that doesn’t reveal identifying information about individual users. One of the proposed APIs, for trust tokens that could combat ad fraud by distinguishing between bots and real users, is now available for testing by developers, and more will move to live testing soon.
Once these approaches have addressed the needs of users, publishers and advertisers, Chrome plans to phase out support for third-party cookies. These proposals are being actively discussed in forums like the W3C. Google’s ads team is actively contributing to this dialog—as it encourage any interested party to do—and it expect to incorporate the new solutions into the products by this tech giant in the years ahead.
The future state of digital advertising promises new technologies, new standards, and better, more sustainable approaches, but it will take some time to get there. Google recognizes the unease that many in the industry feel during this period of transition. While there is certainly more change on the horizon, it’s critical that marketers and publishers do not wait to take action.
Google will continue its work to move the digital ads industry towards a more privacy-forward future.

Facebook is adding a new way for people to come together around music by bringing official music videos to the social-networking platform in the US. The users of this social media giants will be able to discover, watch and share music videos from today’s top artists to up-and-coming bands and classics across various music genres on Facebook. In the coming weeks, Facebook excited for global music video premieres happening on Facebook, including exclusive music video content from J Balvin, Karol G, Sebastian Yatra, Alejandro Fernandez and Calibre 50.
“Fans can also expect the premiere of the official music video for a new track from Lele Pons on Facebook first, who will be going live in advance to connect with fans and build excitement. In addition, Panamanian R&B singer Sech will be exclusively releasing a new video on Facebook and engaging fans in the leadup through tools like Live, countdown stickers in Stories and fan Groups,” said Tamara Hrivnak, VP of Music Business Development and Partnerships and Vijaye Raji, VP of Entertainment.
With official music videos on Facebook, the Mark Zuckerberg-led company is creating new social experiences that are about more than just watching the video. Facebook has been working with partners in India and Thailand to build the foundation of a music video experience on Facebook. Now, the company is excited to launch in the US in partnership with Sony Music Group, Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, Merlin, BMG, Kobalt and many others across the independent music community, publishers and societies.
Like any video on Facebook, the users can react to, comment on and share music videos that are important to the users or reflect their current mood across News Feed, Groups and Messenger. The users can also discover new artists from music videos shared by friends in News Feed, connect with fans who share the user’s passion in a Facebook Group dedicated to the favourite artist, and react to a video in real time as it premieres.
Facebook is also launching a new destination for Music in Facebook Watch where the can explore music videos by genre, artist or mood, as well as themed playlists like “Hip Hop MVPs,” “Trailblazers of Pop” and “Epic Dance Videos.” The users will also find timely playlists like “Popular This Week” and “New This Week.”
Over time, the experience will become more personalized to the user’s tastes based on artists that they follow and videos they engage with. The Music destination in Facebook Watch will be available on desktop and iOS and Android mobile devices.
“Artists already use our apps to get closer to fans through sharing everyday moments in Stories, promoting new releases with custom AR effects and Music Stickers, hosting Q&As on Facebook Live, and raising money for important causes through the donate button in Live and Stories. Now, artists will have the opportunity to connect with fans around their official music videos on Facebook, too,” as per a blog post.
In order to stay up to date and see their latest music videos and posts in the users’ News Feed, the users can also follow their favourite artists. The users can follow an artist directly from a music video, and click through from a video to their Page to learn more about them and find information like when they’re performing next and where to buy their music.
“We’ll continue working with our music partners to build unique social experiences and bring music into the ways people connect and share. In the coming weeks, we’ll add more of your favourite music videos to Facebook. And over time, we’ll introduce more features to help music lovers share, discover and connect around music on Facebook,” as per the social media giant.
