Oppo A31 with MediaTek Helio P35 processor launched in India: Specifications and pricing

The Chinese smartphone brand has announced the launch of its new smartphone in India. The company launched Oppo A31 in the country under the budget segment. Prior to its launch in India, the smartphone made its debut in the Indonesian market first (a few weeks back). Also, the company has relaunched the device with a fresh new design and specification that first appeared in the market in the year 2015. The Oppo A31 2020 model comes with a triple rear camera setup along with a sleek and lightweight design. Read on to know more about the newly launched device.

Oppo A31 Pricing and availability

Oppo A31 has been launched in two storage variants in India. The device has been launched here at Rs 11,490 for the 4GB RAM with a 64GB storage option, whereas the 6GB RAM with a 128GB storage model will be available at Rs 13,990. According to the company, the base model that is the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage will go on sale in the country from February 29 and the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage option will be available in the second week of March. Users can choose from two colour options: Mystery Black and Fantasy White.  Oppo A31 launched in India This smartphone can be purchased via Amazon, Flipkart, Tatacliq, Snapdeal, Paytm starting from February 29. The company will also be offering 5% Instant Cashback to those buyers using their YES Bank and ICICI Bank Credit Card for EMI and Non-EMI options from the onset of sale till March 31st. The EMI options will be available from Bajaj Finserv, IDFC First Bank, Home Credit, HDB Financial Services, Kotak Mahindra Bank, ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank. Additionally, Jio subscribers can avail benefits worth Rs 7,050 on the purchase of Oppo A31.

Specifications

Oppo A31 comes with a 6.5-inch HD+ display with 1,600x 720 pixels of resolution, a 20:9 aspect ratio along with an 83 percent screen-to-body ratio. There will be a  waterdrop notch display to house a selfie camera along with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The smartphone will run on ColorOS 6.1.2 on top of Android 9. The device will be powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 processor clubbed with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage. The internal storage can be expanded by 256GB using a microSD card. It packs a 4,230mAh battery, which delivers a long battery life as claimed by the company. For imaging, there will be a triple rear camera setup on the Oppo A31 that will consist of a 12-megapixel primary camera sensor. Further aided by a 2-megapixel depth sensor and a 2-megapixel macro lens. The smartphone has an 8-megapixel front-facing camera to capture selfies with the AI Beautification feature.  According to the company, in order to create social media content and vlogs, the smartphone comes with the Soloop Intelligent video feature. This function identifies the video type and then gives editing and music option suggestions. Over 60 smartphones will come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset soon, including Asus Zenfone 7 and ROG Phone 3

Qualcomm mobile chipsets are leaps and bounds ahead of its competition. While the largest chipmaker (Intel) struggles in the mobile arena, Mediatek is somewhat surviving in the market. In December of 2019, Qualcomm had announced the 5G ready Snapdragon 865 chipsets for mid to high-end smartphones. Many including Vivo’s iQoo and Samsung have already brought smartphones with the flagship mobile CPU by Qualcomm. The latest news by Qualcomm is that there are over 60 smartphones getting ready to be shipped with SD 865 SoC. As said, this is the firm’s flagship processor for mobiles and is best known to easily play graphic hungry games as well as manage heavy tasks on mobiles. Out of the 60 smartphones, various companies have already decided names of at least 17 of them. Qualcomm has confirmed this and has revealed the names of some of them as well. These range from gaming smartphones from Asus and Lenovo to high-end mobiles from Vivo and Oppo. The Chinese smartphone company (Oppo) is gearing for the launch of a new smartphone in India next week. The company is going to launch Oppo Reno 3 Pro in the country on March 2. This time the company has chosen to go for a dual selfie camera instead of the fin-shaped pop-up selfie camera that we have already seen on the popular Reno series in the past. For quite a long time the company has been teasing the phone on its official social media channels and via TV commercials.  Oppo has also shared some official images of the upcoming smartphone in the past. The smartphone is the successor of Oppo Reno 2 and has already been launched in China last year in December. There the company launched 2 devices under the Oppo Reno 3 series out of which the Reno 3 Pro will arrive in India but with a slightly different design. Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro to launch on March 5 in India, registration for blind order begin

The Chinese Smartphone manufacturer Realme earlier this week launched its first 5G phone Realme X50 Pro in India. Now the company is all set to launch another new phone in the Indian market that is said to feature a Pro-grade camera and Pro display. The company is bringing the new series of Realme 6 in the country that will include two smartphones that are Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro. Moreover, the new Realme 6 series is going to be unveiled on March 6th that is next week.  Interestingly, the company has chosen the famous Bollywood actor Salman Khan to promote its upcoming product. Yes, Salman Khan is the company’s new brand ambassador. The company revealed this by sharing a poster in which the actor is seen flaunting one of the phones from the Realme 6 series. The company gave us the first glimpse of the phone that will be featuring a dual hole-punch display. The device is going to have thin side bezels. The company expanded its portfolio by launching Canon EOS 850D that comes with Dual Pixel CMOS AF, EOS Intelligent Tracking, high-speed Auto Focus along with many more advanced features. The device is an upgraded variant of EOS 800D that equips the company’s proprietary DIGIC 8 image processor. The company launched the Canon EOS 850D to target the new photographers on the block who are planning to upgrade from the entry-level models to mid-segment models. The new DSLR will allow the users to capture clear, sharp and precise images and record 4K videos. The newly launched Canon EOS 850D camera weighs 515g. It features a 24.1-megapixel APS-C size CMOS sensor and is powered by a DIGIC 8 imaging processor that delivers crisp and clear images. It comes with a maximum ISO range of 25,600 which can be expanded up to 51,200 for a distinct low-light capability that allows the user to capture high-quality photos under low light situations at a restaurant or a party venue. Canon EOS 850D The Canon camera equips an optical viewfinder great for shooting and controls. With the viewfinder, the users can continuously shoot with a recording speed of up to 7 fps with fixed AF and up to 4.5 fps during Live View shooting with AF tracking.  The company says, “During viewfinder shooting of up to 7 fps, users will not experience any time lag, and with all cross-type 45 points AF, a wider area can be covered to allow flexibility in composing and tracking, Ideal for capturing unpredicted subjects movements” With EOS iTR – Intelligent Tracking and Recognition in Optical ViewFinder the subject tracking becomes easier with the help of face detection function. This feature allows you to identify faces even when the skin colour disappears against the background. Moreover, the Canon camera has a maximum shutter speed of 1/4000 second. With the  Eye Detection AF the camera automatically focuses on the eyes of the human subject that ensures the camera clicks sharp images even when the subject is moving. With the addition of a new quick control dial on the EOS 850D, you can easily set the camera as well as search images. The dial is located on the camera body to make it more accessible while shooting to set changes by simply turning the dials. This function allows you to keep tracking the moving subject with the help of AI Servo AF. Fujifilm unveiled the latest variant of instant camera, Instax Mini 11 in India 

Fujifilm has today announced the launch of Instax Mini 11 in India. The camera will let you capture moments instantly with the help of Automatic Exposure and Selfie Mode function. The company launched two new stylish mini-format Instax films namely Blue Marble and White Marble that comes with marble patterns on the frames. The new camera is for those who love capturing and sharing moments at the same time. The company introduced Instax Mini 11 in India and also the world that is quite portable. Design-wise Fujifilm Instax Mini 11 comes with a rounded body design and will be available in five colour variants. These include Blush Pink, Sky Blue, Charcoal Gray, Ice White and Lilac Purple. The company has not revealed the pricing of the camera, but it will go on sale in India from April onwards. Instax Mini 11 The Blue Marble film can be used with any Instax mini-series of cameras that feature blue marble pattern frames highlighted with glossy gold. The company introduced two pairs of the truly wireless earbuds, earphones and headphones that are HT10 Pro, HT20, HE18, and HD116. All four products come with EQ tech that enables the user to experience different frequencies of music on the same device. Those who are unaware of the EQ technology allow two preset equalizer frequencies in the same device. According to the company, this was only possible in very high-end devices. This allows the user to enjoy different frequencies of music in the same device such as for light music the clarity of sound is important but for dance numbers, heavy beats music requires heavy bass for the thumping sound. To experience both types of music one can change the mode between Pure Music and Extra Bass which is possible by pressing a single button. The earphones can also be paired with two different devices at the same time. The Lenovo earphones can be purchased at Rs 1,999. Lenovo HD 116 Headphones at INR 2,499 on Amazon (2) (1) HD116 headphones come with almost similar features as of the other three Lenovo audio devices. The headphones can be connected to your device with the help of Bluetooth. It also supports HSP/HFP/AVRCP/A2DP. The Lenovo headphones offer 24 hours of playtime along with 240 hours of standby time. These are available with a price tag of Rs 2,499. The newly launched Lenovo audio products can be purchased via the e-commerce website Flipkart. All the devices will be available at a special discount for the next 2 days. The headphones will be available at Rs 2,199 while the earphones can be purchased at Rs 1,899. WhatsApp is working on Dark theme for its Web and Desktop platforms

Now the dark mode is under the testing mode for the beta version of WhatsApp on both Android and iOS application a new leak has appeared on the web with regard to the new feature. According to a leak, the feature is not limited to the mobile application the company is planning to bring the dark mode feature on the WhatsApp web and desktop as well.  We already know that the company has been testing the beta version of the dark mode feature on both WhatsApp Android and iOS. These features are currently unavailable for the general public that might be rolled out soon via stable updates for the users. Now a leak by WABetaInfo suggests that the Facebook-owned company WhatsApp is working on the dark mode feature for its desktop version. The feature is under development and is not available yet on both mobile and desktop platforms.  WhatsApp Dark Emojis Selector The publisher keeps a track on the WhatsApp development and has also shared some screenshots to prove its point. The screenshot shows how the dark theme will look on the WhatsApp Desktop. The other images show how the new feature will bring a completely new look to the interface. However, the background colour for emojis is still white the company might decide to give it a transparent background by adding a toggle to enable the dark theme once the dark theme is fully functional. Until now the new theme is only under development and there is no word from the company when the  WhatsApp dark mode for Web and Desktop will be rolled out. On Monday the Chinese smartphone brand Realme arrived in India with its first 5G smartphone called Realme X50 Pro 5G despite the fact that there is no 5G availability in the country. Today another 5G smartphone launched in the country. Vivo’s sub-brand iQOO launched its gaming-centric phone iQOO 3. The device comes with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset with the quad rear camera setup, a Super AMOLED display with a hole punch. Over that there is a 4440 mAh battery with 55W fast charging support that claims to charge the phone up to 50 percent in just 15 minutes. 

iQOO 3 5G specifications

iQOO 3 comes with a 6.44-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with 1200 nits peak brightness, 1080 x 2400 pixels of resolution and  91.40 percent screen-to-body ratio. The display offers a 180Hz touch sampling rate and is protected with a layer of Schott Xensation UP. The device runs on iQoo UI 1.0 on top of Android 10. Under the hood, there is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor with a 5G modem paired with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.  iQOO 3 Coming to the camera capabilities, iQOO 3 equips a quad rear camera setup that includes a 48-megapixel Sony IMX582 sensor with  f/1.79 aperture. It further includes a 13-megapixel telephoto camera sensor with f/2.46 aperture with 20x digital zoom, a 13-megapixel wide-angle lens with a 120-degree field of view and  f/2.2 aperture and lastly a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The company has launched the two variants of iQOO 3 that are 4G and 5G. The 4G variant comes in different configurations of 8GB RAM with 128GB storage at Rs 36,990 while the 8GB RAM with 256GB storage model comes with a price tag of Rs 39,990. The 5G variant can be purchased at Rs 44,990 for the 12GB RAM with 256GB of storage. Both the variants will be available in three colour options Quantum Silver, Volcano Orange and Tornado Black. The company hosted a virtual launch where it launched Huawei Mate Xs that comes with a redesigned screen, Huawei MatePad Pro 5G, Huawei WiFi AX3 and Huawei 5G CPE Pro 2 and the list goes on.  Huawei Mate Xs is the refreshed version of the company’s first foldable smartphone Mate X that was launched last year and never arrived in the global market besides China. The device comes with a redesigned screen along with refreshed hardware as well as software. Interestingly the foldable smartphone is built of zirconium-based liquid metal with an upgraded hinge that offers full 180-degree fold. Huawei Mate Xs features a Falcon Wing design. The upgrade hinge allows the user to convert the smartphone to tablet modes. It features a 6.6-inch main screen and a 6.38-inch secondary screen. When unfolded it transforms into an 8-inch tablet with Flying Fish Fin Cooling System. This new feature has been specially designed for the foldable screen with the use of microscopic crevices. The company is preparing to launch a 5G smartphone in the country that is called Mi MIX Alpha. The device was launched in China last year that comes with a flexible screen to offer Surround Display experience. It is a bezel-less smartphone and to begin with, it is almost an all-screen from back to front. Soon the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi will be arriving with its 5G phone in the country. The company is preparing to bring a 5G concept phone that is Mi MIX Alpha in India. But before any official launch, the company will be putting the device on demonstration in a few cities through Mi Home stores. On February 21 the company has revealed the smartphone in Bengaluru city in Embassy Tech Village and Indiranagar. Realme X50 Pro 5G has been launched in India today. The device was set to be launched during MWC 2020, but due to the Coronavirus outbreak, the trade show got cancelled. And the company had no choice but to unveil it at an online event in India. Now the company has launched the 5G phone in the country in three variants 6GB RAM with 128GB storage at Rs 37,999, while the 8GB RAM  with 128GB storage option will be available at Rs 39,999. The top model of the newly launched mobile phone that is the 12GB RAM with 256GB storage has been priced at Rs 44,999. The device will be available in two colour options: Mass Green and Rust Red. Specifications and features

Realme X50 Pro 5G features a 6.44-inch full-HD+ display with a dual-hole punch, 1,080×2,400 pixels of resolution. The display offers 90Hz of refresh rate, 180Hz sampling rate, an in-display fingerprint sensor and is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It runs on Realme UI based on top of Android 10. The device is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It packs a 4,200mAh battery with 65W SuperDart flash charging technology. It is compatible with both 30W VOOC 4.0 flash charging and 18W QC / PD fast charging. In terms of imaging capabilities, Realme X50 Pro 5G comes equipped with quad-rear camera setup. The camera set up includes a 64-megapixel Samsung GW1 sensor with f/1.8 aperture, an  8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with 105-degree field-of-view, a 12-megapixel telephoto camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For taking selfies there is a dual camera set up on the front that includes a 2-megapixel Sony IMX 616 main sensor and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. Android 11 update confirmed for Poco X2 in India

Earlier this month, Xiaomi’s sub-brand (now an independent brand called Poco) launched its second smartphone in India known as Poco X2. Today, the company has announced that its latest handset will be getting an update to Android 11 after Google launches it.  Poco said that “With a demonstrated history of listening to its consumers, POCO enjoys a loyal fan and user base that stays engaged with the company. With a commitment to upgrade POCO X2 to Android 11-based MIUI for POCO, buyers can be doubly-sure their 120Hz display-powered POCO X2 will stay updated with the latest and the best software to continue delivering a stellar user experience.” Yes, the POCO X2 Android 11 upgrade has now been confirmed for the Indian market. The company also shared this news via its official Twitter handle. The company’s GM  C Manmohan tweet reads, “Keeping the promise of making the best even better! Here’s the biggest announcement for all the #POCO fans. The recently-released #POCOX2 will be upgraded to @Android 11.  Until now the company has not revealed the timeline for the release of Android 11 to Poco X2 but it promises to arrive in India to its latest device soon. Poco X2 Android 11 update For the unknown, the software giant Google and the developer of operating system Android recently released its first Android 11 Developer Preview. The Developer Preview 1 is already live and the second one will be available in March, while the Developer Preview 3 will be accessible in the month of April. Poco X2 has a quad rear camera set up that includes a 64-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens with a 120-degree field of view and a dual 2-megapixel depth sensor and a macro lens. On the front there is a dual selfie camera setup that consists of a 20-megapixel main camera sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The device houses a 4,500mAh battery with 27W fast charging technology support. There is also a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for authentication. Apple might launch AirPods Pro-Lite soon

The Cupertino based company Apple is planning to launch a new set of earphones sometime around mid-year.  The device is going to be released in company with a new iPhone and an upgraded iPad. The upcoming earphones would be called Apple AirPods Pro-Lite. Two recall the company has already launched two generations of truly wireless earbuds known as  Apple AirPods Pro. In the coming months, Apple is going to launch a new accessory for its devices that is AirPods Pro Lite. As the name suggests the device is going to be a much affordable option for the buyers. According to a report by Digitimes, the device is the lower end model of AirPods Pro. It is stated that Taiwan-based Universal Scientific Industrial (USI), a unit of ASE Technology, is likely to be the supplier of the AirPods Pro Lite. The company will be responsible for integrating a system-in-package (SiP) chipset to the upcoming audio device. The company will be partnering with the US-based company Amkor, China’s JCET and Japan’s Murata to scramble for backend orders for AirPods Pro Lite. As the pricing is concerned the upcoming Apple TWS is assumed to be carrying a lower price tag as compared to its Pro variant which currently costs $249 that translates to Rs 17, 895 as per Indian currency. It is going to be launched in the mid-2020 and the chances are that the orders for the Apple AirPods Pro-Lite are going to be on the higher side because of the budget nature and the shipment will be on hold due to Coronavirus outbreak. To recall Apple AirPods Pro was launched in India last year that comes with a price tag Of Rs 24,900. The pricing is a bit higher when compared to its official USD price of $249. The audio device features active noise cancellation that cancels out the ambient noise actively. It comes with a water-resistant design and a wireless charging case that offers a playback time of up to 24 hours. The company provides ear tips in three different sizes inside the box. The earbuds stem comes with a force sensor to enable ANC and Transparent Mode. The live image of the OnePlus 8 Pro surfaced on the web showing quad rear camera setup

The Chinese Premium smartphone manufacturer, OnePlus, is working on its upcoming OnePlus 8 series. It is supposed to be unveiled in the coming month that is March or in the month of April. Under the new series, the company will be offering three phones namely OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro and OnePlus 8 Lite. Recently we came through a lot of alleged renders of the forthcoming series. Now that the live photos have been shared, which reveals the blueprint of the leaked OnePlus 8 Pro, let’s talk more about its form factor. The live image of the OnePlus 8 Pro has been shared via Twitter. The leaked image gives us the idea of how the device is going to look in terms of design. The device is seen donning a translucent cover that protects the device inside the box. Due to the protective sleeve, the back panel colour is not visible but the camera module is already out in the open. As per the live image, it is clearly noticeable that the OnePlus 8 Pro will be offering a similar camera arrangement that we have already seen on its predecessors that is OnePlus 7. There is a vertically placed camera module in the centre of the device, which houses three camera sensors. In addition to this, there is another camera that is placed separately on the right side of the camera module. That extra camera is supposed to be a 3D ToF camera. Just below the camera module, the LED flash is evident.

Other than that from the previous leaks the OnePlus 8 smartphone is rumoured to come with an IP68 rating, which means the device will be dust and water-resistant. It is reportedly going to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor with 8GB and 16GB of RAM. The mobile phone is said to be supported by the Snapdragon X55 modem for 5G connectivity.  It is stated to be housing a punch-hole display with a 6.5-inch curved AMOLED display screen along with 120Hz of refresh rate.
