OnePlus 10T unboxedThe OnePlus 10T comes packed in the OnePlus signature rectangular red box, with the company’s branding on the front. The smartphone ships with its own 150W turbocharger (more on that later!) and a protective case. The SIM tray, microphone, Type-C USB Port, and speaker are housed at the bottom of the phone, with a second loudspeaker present at the top. The volume keys and power button can be found on either side of the OnePlus 10T. Like other smartphones in this category, the headphone jack has been omitted along with the ringer key.OnePlus 10T: Top view and Bottom viewWhen it comes to design, the OnePlus 10T seems indistinguishable from the OnePlus 10 Pro at first glance. While OnePlus has chosen to retain most of the design elements from its flagship offering, there are a few changes on the 10T. Finished with Gorilla Glass 5, the Jade Green version (which we are reviewing) has a smooth back panel, a change from the textured finish on the 10 Pro.The smooth back panel on the Jade Green versionThis panel has the tendency to attract tiny smudges, but after using it for a week we can safely say that it doesn’t amount to be a nuisance. The front selfie camera is now positioned at the top-centre of the screen instead of on the top-left side.The front camera has been moved to top-centre of the screenAs we mentioned earlier, the OnePlus 10T does not come with the company’s iconic Alert Slider, which may disappoint some brand loyalists. But for those that do not need a dedicated switch to toggle between ringing modes, this feature won’t be missed. OnePlus explained that while the Alert slider is a small fixture on the external design, internally it can occupy a fair bit of space. The company decided to drop it for high wattage charging, a large battery capacity, and a better antenna signal. This seems like a good enough trade-off to us, as the 10T does cover a lot of ground in battery charging and capacity and superior network speeds.The camera unit design remains the same, with the OnePlus 10T sporting the same square panel as the 10 Pro. However, it is missing the Hasselblad branding and ditches the telephoto lens for a 2MP macro lens. We dive into the effects of these changes in the camera performance section of the review, later on.Coming to the display, OnePlus has opted for a flat-edge display on the 10T instead of the curved edge found on the 10 Pro. The 6.7-inch Full HD+ touchscreen has a Fluid AMOLED display with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz. With 1,080×2,412p resolution and 87.9% screen-to-body ratio, the OnePlus 10T is an excellent phone to watch video content on. The stereo speakers on either side of the phone create an enveloping surround sound, producing an immersive experience. The refresh rate of 120Hz is thoroughly utilised in gaming mode, which we tested by playing Apex Legends, experiencing no throttling or unwanted load time. In order to save battery, the refresh rate can be brought down to 90 and 60Hz when the smartphone isn’t performing heavy tasks. The OnePlus 10T is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset which is a slight improvement on the Snapdragon 8 on the 10 Pro. The SD8+ Gen 1 offers 30% better power efficiency and 10% faster graphics compared to its predecessor in 10 Pro. The OnePlus 10T is offered with an option of 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, 12GB RAM + 256GB storage, and 16GB RAM + 256GB storage. We tested the mid-placed variant with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, and it handled whatever tasks we threw at it with absolute ease. The 10T can hold dozens of apps running in the background, seamlessly switching between them with negligible load time. We did not experience any dip in speed even in split screen mode, as we tried playing YouTube with Instagram and other apps, and they all worked out perfectly.The vapor chamber in the 10T is the largest on any OnePlus smartphone. This vapor chamber coupled with 3D graphite and a copper coil keeps the temperature at an optimum level despite the smartphone performing heavy tasks. We tried playing Apex Legends Mobile and Garena Free Fire MAX on the 10T for an extended period of time and the phone barely got warm. The 360-degree antenna ensures strong network connectivity no matter how you’re holding the phone. This performance rivals dedicated gaming smartphones like the Asus ROG Phone 6.Geek Benchmark 5 test resultsThe 10T scored 722 on the Geek benchmark 5 test in default mode and 1294 in high-performance mode. This score places it with the likes of Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro.Coming to its operating system, the OnePlus 10T runs on Android 12 skinned with OxygenOS 12.1. It takes just over 20 minutes to fully charge the 4,800-mAh dual cell battery with the turbocharger, and if you are in a hurry 3 minutes of charge will take it from a 1% to 15% charge. The battery typically lasts an entire day, even with regular periods of gaming and above-average screen time. OnePlus claims that the 10T retains 80% battery health after 1,600 charge cycles, which is a little over 4 years. OnePlus 10T does not have wireless charging, but when the phone takes 20 minutes to fully charge we doubt that anyone’s going to complain about it.Macro lens vs Primary lensThe camera unit of the OnePlus 10T comprises a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro lens. As we mentioned earlier, the telephoto lens found on the 10 Pro has been ditched and a 2MP macro lens finds its way into 10T’s camera unit. This decision doesn’t make a lot of sense as the 50MP primary lens does a much better job of capturing images up close than the macro lens. There is no Hasselblad branding on 10T’s camera array either, as OnePlus seems to be keeping it as a distinguishing feature for the 10 Pro. The 50MP primary camera does well in daylight photography.The 50MP primary lens does most of the heavy lifting in this camera unit, providing remarkable, vivid pictures in both outdoor and indoor lighting. The camera works particularly well in daylight, producing highly detailed images with well-balanced colours without any oversaturation. During the nighttime, the main lens does a fine job of capturing light in limited conditions. The images produced in night mode are at par with other smartphones in this category, and the grain is barely noticeable. The OnePlus 10T performs well in low light.The rear camera can record videos up to 4k at 30 or 60fps. The ‘movie’ mode provides greater control over the ISO, Shutter, EV, MF, and WB. The camera stabilisation on this mode is also pretty neat, and it can be used to record professional-grade videos. The 16MP front selfie camera performs well in regular and portrait mode, and also records 1080p resolution videos at 30 fps. Another good feature of the native camera app is the ‘Dual-View video’ mode. At the price of Rs 49,999, the OnePlus 10T is a remarkable smartphone. Even though OnePlus may not market it as a gaming smartphone, it certainly matches the performance of phones in that category. The CPU performance of the OnePlus 10T exceeds that of the flagship 10 Pro. While the camera unit and missing alert slider may put off a few buyers, we don’t see any reason why it would deter buyers looking to buy a premium smartphone at this price point.Pros

Skip to the next person’s status without viewing all the stories
If you’re going through someone’s status and do not want to watch all the stories, simply swipe left and you’ll skip to the next person’s status. Conversely, swiping right brings you back to the previous person’s status. This can be helpful when there are a lot of stories to navigate to the next status.
Mute someone’s status update
If you do not want someone’s status showing up on your Status tab, simply long press on their status update and select Mute. Any new status updates from them will show up in the ‘Muted Updates’ section at the bottom of your Status tab.
Change the background colour of your status update
If you’re posting a text status update, click on the palette icon at the top right corner of your screen to change the background colour of the status update. Tap on the palette multiple times to change to different colours.

Sony has been on a launching spree, not just in the TV segment but in the wireless earphones segment too. The latest to enter the Indian market is the Sony LinkBuds WF-L900, which does break the common design factor that most others are sporting for a couple of years now. This is our Sony LinkBuds WF-L900 review that you should read before purchasing a new audio earphone in the premium segment.

Sony LinkBuds WF-L900 review: Design
It is good to see big companies like Sony have pledged to save the planet and its resources in small as well as big ways. To start with, in 2022 we have seen them using biodegradable enclosures for their audio devices. On the same lines, the Sony LinkBuds WF-L900 also come in cardboard (biodegradable box) without any use of plastics.
Pull open the box and you will see a differently made clamshell style charging box. Inside which you get never seen before audio earbuds. We personally call it the infinity design, as two circles (one which holds the battery and the other of the audio driver), remind us of the infinity symbol. We got our hands on the black version, which does look like the night sky, as a speckle of white dots can be seen all over it. On the other hand, white colour variant is also available.
Sony does say that the Sony LinkBuds WF-L900 is also made from recycled plastic material, which again is good for the planet. Assessing its design further, we saw a couple of microphones on the device as well as proximity sensors behind each earphone. What does this sensor do? It automatically pauses the music, as soon as you pull out any one of the audio earbuds. Place them back in the ear and music automatically starts playing.
Each Sony LinkBuds WF-L900 is extremely lightweight and weighs just 4 grams. The charging box is also quite light at just 33 grams (without the LinkBuds inside). Talking about which, the charging case is robust and has a hard-press button to open the lid. An LED indicator is also placed above it. Spin it around and you will see a pairing button as a well as USB Type-C charging port. A short charging USB Type-C charging cable also comes in the box, however, these audio phones cannot be charged wirelessly.
All in all, we loved how the Sony LinkBuds WF-L900 are designed. The new infinity design works for us with a hint of silver in form of the inside ring on the audio driver enclosure.
Sony LinkBuds WF-L900 review: Performance
Now let’s talk about how the Sony LinkBuds WF-L900 performed for us. But before that let’s put a little light on how you must wear them. We would call ourselves a bit of an expert when it comes to wearing any wireless TWS properly. But this one was a curve ball for us. Instead of pushing them in, you have to slide them from the back to the front of your ear lobe. So that the audio driver circle is not digging in, but is placed flat.
Here the silicone rubber head should also be locked within the ear cavity for the perfect fit so that they do not fall off. Yes, it takes a little time to get used to, but after a few hours with them, you will be wearing them like a pro. Also, you get multiple silicone lock rings within the box for different ear types. Here is a great video also, which shows you how to wear them properly.
Moving on to its sound. Sony has done a very good job, but do not expect them to be as bombastic as some of the other Sony’s. Since it lets you hear all the ambient sounds, the boom/bass is a little less. Also, there is no noise cancellation. Well, there could not have been as there is a hole in the audio driver ring. But still, the sound is exceptional. The highs, lows and mids are great and you get to hear each and everything that is happening around you. Which is kind of a good thing as then you are fully aware of your surroundings even when you are enjoying great music or are on a voice call.
Since we touched upon voice calls, the audio clarity on the Sony LinkBuds WF-L900 is excellent. The MICs work perfectly and one can easily make or receive calls with them. Also, there is different gesture control available on the Sony LinkBuds WF-L900. Instead of tapping on the earphones themselves, you have to tap in front of the ear lobes to play/pause or go to the next or previous tracks.
But this can only be done when the wide area tap feature is turned on in the Sony Connect app (available on both Android and iOS). This feature worked decently for us up to an inch in front of the ear lobe. Anything further, then the Sony LinkBuds WF-L900 do not respond. In case this feature stop working, you can just turn off the wide-area tap for a few seconds and turn it back on, it will solve the problem.
Moving on to the battery life. Sony claims these can last up to 5.5 hours. And the charging case provides additional 12 hours of battery life (a total of 17.5 hours). In our real-time tests, we got 4.75 hours out of the LinkBuds alone and an additional 11 hours (approx) from the charging case. Which is not bad at all. Over that, you can quickly charge them too. 10 minutes of quick charge will fetch you 1.5 hours of playback time.

Furthermore, these are IPX4 water resistant. We took them out for a run and light sweat did not hurt them at all. Neither did they slip out of the ear in real-world use. Even though they are not made for gaming, we tried them when playing BGMI. The latency is very low as each earphone connects simultaneously (and not one with the other) to the BT device. Nevertheless, we will not recommend it for pro-gaming use as you need ANC for that.
Verdict
Sony LinkBuds WF-L900 also support Google Assistant and Alexa. You can fast pair them with Windows 10 or 11 machines, too. So, at Rs 19,990 as they worth buying? We do feel they would have been perfect if they were slightly cheaper, but if you are one of those who want to be aware of your surroundings all the time, these are great for everyday use. We loved its sound and the new infinity design. At last, a company is trying to do something different in the otherwise mundane audio earphone industry.
