OnePlus has officially announced the launch of another Nord smartphone in India. Just like the last version, the OnePlus Nord 2 5G is going to debut in India first. The launch here is set for July 22. In addition to this, the company has also listed the device on the Amazon India website to tease its availability. Recently, the Chinese smartphone company revealed that the OnePlus Nord will be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 1200-AI SoC which is specially designed for the handset offering improved AI capabilities. However, the exact launch date was not revealed but the company’s CEO Pete Lau took to Twitter to announce the arrival of the smartphone. According to his tweet, the smartphone will be making its way to the Indian market on July 22. This is going to be a second Nord device OnePlus Nord CE 5G that debuted a few weeks back in the country. Besides launching in India the smartphone will also get launched in Europe. The forum post says, “The “Never Settle” spirit is about the constant pursuit of perfection. The first OnePlus Nord was a fantastic product, but in the year since we launched it, we have continued reviewing your feedback and working on ways to improve the user experience for the next OnePlus Nord device. The OnePlus Nord 2 5G is a comprehensive upgrade from the first OnePlus Nord, from camera to performance to charging, as well as the newly AI-focused Dimensity 1200-AI SoC. We are confident that it delivers the dependable OnePlus fast and smooth experience you love, and lives up to the “Never Settle” ethos. The price point at which the device will be available will be announced at the time of the 2,000 that translates to Rs 23,000. Speaking of the specifications, the OnePlus Nord 2 5G is confirmed to be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1200-AI SoC. Whereas the rumours suggest that the mobile phone will feature a 6.43-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate support. There could be a triple rear camera set up that will be highlighted with a 50-megapixel primary sensor.  Upfront, it is said to have a 32-megapixel selfie camera. Yes, Poco today again teased the launch of its upcoming gaming smartphone Poco F3 GT. The launch of the device was earlier teased by a company’s executive who shared that the Poco F3 GT smartphone will be launched in India in the third quarter of 2021. The device is speculated to be a rebranded version of the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition.  Whereas the latest video teaser released by the company falls in line with a recent report that tipped to launch the handset in the first 10 days of August. The company took to Twitter to roll out the teaser of the Poco F3 GT. The video teaser is 15 seconds long and it says that Q3 is here which indicates the upcoming launch. The phone is visible in restricted light against a brighter background. However, the outline of the device still shows a pair of gaming triggers on the right side of the frame. In the same way a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, the volume rocker is also seen clearly.  Previously in May this year Anuj Sharma, the Country Director of POCO India shared a 30-second video on Twitter that revealed that Poco F3 GT will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC. He also revealed that the device will arrive in Q3 of 2021 which begins from July 1. Also reportedly the launch of the gaming smartphone will take place before August 10 in India. As per the speculations, the Poco F3 GT will be a rebranded variant of the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced edition. If rumours are to be believed then the device could feature a 6.67-inch full-HD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. It will run MIUI 12.5 on top of Android 11 and will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC with up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The phone will also come integrated with vapour chamber LiquidCool technology with white graphene for better cooling and extensive gaming. For the photos and videos, the gaming smartphone by Poco will come with a  triple rear camera setup that will bring a 64-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.65 aperture. Additionally, there will be an 8-megapixel secondary sensor and a  2-megapixel tertiary lens. Upfront there will be a 16-megapixel selfie shooter.  Besides this, there will be Wi-Fi, 5G, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port as connectivity options. In addition to this, there will be a  side-mounted fingerprint scanner for authentication. The device will come with an IP53 rating for water and dust resistance. Microsoft released an emergency Windows update to address PrintNightmare security vulnerability: Everything you should know
In an emergency security update, Microsoft has released a patch to fix a critical flaw in the Windows Print Spooler service. The vulnerability called PrintNightmare was discovered by some security analysts who accidentally published a proof-of-concept (PoC) exploit. The security flaw allows attackers to remotely execute code with system-level privileges and take over the victim host completely, to carry out malicious operations.  To address the PrintNightmare security flaw impacting the Windows Print Spooler service, Microsoft has rolled out-of-band security updates for all supported versions of Windows. This vulnerability allows attackers to print functionality inside local networks when print capabilities are exposed to the Internet. As explained by the company, the remote code execution vulnerability exists when the Windows Print Spooler service improperly performs privileged file operations. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could run arbitrary code with SYSTEM privileges. An attacker could then install programs; view, change, or delete data; or create new accounts with full user rights. However, this is said to be a cumulative update release, so it contains all previous security fixes and should be applied immediately to fully protect your systems. As per the company, the fix fully addresses the public vulnerability, and it also includes a new feature that allows customers to implement stronger protections. Microsoft also states that “ Please note that not all versions of the update are available today as some packages are not quite ready for release. We feel that it is important to provide security updates as quickly as possible for systems that we can confidently protect today. Unfortunately, security updates for Windows Server 2016, Windows 10, version 1607, and Windows Server 2012 will be delayed for a short period, but they are expected soon.”  One can also disable the inbound remote printing as explained below: Go to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Printers and switch off the Allow Print Spooler to accept client connections option. The user is also required to restart the Print Spooler service to make the changes. But soon after the pact was released, a security researcher brought another issue with the security update revealing how exploits could bypass the patch. Benjamin Delpy, a developer of the hacking and network utility Mimikatz via tweet said, “ Dealing with strings & filenames is hard😉 New function in #mimikatz 🥝to normalize filenames (bypassing checks by using UNC instead of \\server\share format). So an RCE (and LPE) with #printnightmare on a fully patched server, with Point & Print enabled. He also shared a video that demonstrates the security pact failed to fix the vulnerability using a certain setting named paint and print that simply allows networks users to get hands-on with the required printer drivers. However, the fix may be incomplete but it does provide protection from other types of attacks that exploit the print spooler vulnerability. OnePlus has officially announced the launch of OnePlus Nord 2 5G with a premium MediaTek chipset. The device is going to succeed the OnePlus Nord, which first debuted in India last year. The company has also revealed that the upcoming smartphone will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1200-AI SoC. The news comes by way of a forum post that finally reveals the existence of the Nord 2. The company has not disclosed much but the all-new processor will bring features like AI-assisted imaging for an improved photography experience, display enhancements, better response times for faster and smoother gaming, and much more. The forum post says, “The MediaTek Dimensity 1200 is a powerful processor. But the “Never Settle” spirit means always striving for better. So, by collaborating with the MediaTek team on top of the Dimensity Open Resource Architecture, we were able to push the limits of this processor and bring you a host of AI-based features which enhances the user experience across a variety of touchpoints. To highlight the new AI-focused enhancements from the chipset, we’ve even given the processor a unique name: the MediaTek Dimensity 1200-AI.” Besides this, the company is also hosting a throwback challenge and a lucky draw to allow users to win a OnePlus Nord 2 5G.  Last month some alleged renders of the upcoming OnePlus Nord 2 were leaked on the web. The leaked renders suggest that the phone will feature a hole-punch design display to house a selfie camera which is placed on the top left corner of the screen. As per the OnePlus Nord 2 renders it will have slim bezels on both sides, top and a noticeable chin. On the utility front, there is a volume rocker on the left side of the frame while the power button on either side along with the alert slider. While the bottom of the frame houses a USB Type-C port, SIM tray, and a speaker grille. The upcoming smartphone will come with a different design on the back panel. Anuj Sharma, Country Director of POCO India in May this year revealed that Poco F3 GT will be launched in India in the third quarter of 2021. Now the launch of the device is tipped to happen in August. The smartphone will arrive in India as the rebranded Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition made its debut in China in April this year. The device has also been leaked on various certification websites ahead of its Q3 India launch. According to a report, the Poco F3 GT launch will take place in the first week or first 10 days of August. However, the company has not yet revealed anything but it is expected to roll out teasers just weeks before the India launch.  If rumours are to be believed then the Poco F3 GT will share all the specifications of the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced edition. It will feature a 6.67-inch full-HD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. The device will run MIUI 12.5 on top of Android 11. Under the hood, there will be a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC with up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The phone will also come integrated with vapour chamber LiquidCool technology with white graphene for better cooling and extensive gaming. In addition to this, the Poco F3 GT might come with a triple rear camera setup that will bring a 64-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.65 aperture. Additionally, there will be an 8-megapixel secondary sensor and a  2-megapixel tertiary lens. Upfront there will be a 16-megapixel selfie shooter.  On the connectivity front, there could be Wi-Fi, 5G, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. The phone may also include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and will be IP53-certified for dust and water resistance. The mobile phone will be backed by a 5,065mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging,  Previously the device was also spotted on a US retailer’s website with detailed specifications. The phone got listed on Welectronics.com carrying model number M2104K10I which is also associated with the Redmi K40 Game Enhanced Edition.  The device was also reportedly spotted in a US FCC listing with model number 21061110AG. As per the listing, the upcoming smartphone will include Wi-Fi 6 support. The much-demanded feature – multi-device support for WhatsApp is soon going to be released for public beta testing. The news related to the early testing of the feature has been announced by WhatsApp features tracker WABetaInfo. A screenshot has been shared on the microblogging website Twitter giving us the indication the multi-device support for WhatsApp will enter into the public beta testing phase. WABetaInfo which shares all the important updates related to WhatsApp took to Twitter to share the information via its tweet, informs that soon the instant messaging service owned by Facebook will ask the user to help in testing the much-awaited feature. For testing, the user needs to have the most updated beta version of WhatsApp for Android and iOS. While sharing a screenshot the tweet reads, “WhatsApp will ask for your help to test the first version of multi-device beta program. You need to use the most updated beta version of WhatsApp for Android and iOS.” In another tweet the WhatsApp features tracker says that the multi-device beta will be available very soon, so the users will be able to access the Web without an internet connection on the phone. As soon as the feature enters into early testing the tracker will announce the rollout so that you can be a part of the public beta programme.  Now coming to the shared screenshot shows a dialogue box inviting users to join the multi-device beta programme. It reads, “Use WhatsApp on up to 4 additional devices at once without keeping your phone online.” Previous leaks suggest that this functionality will be working both for WhatsApp and Business so the users do not need to delete or uninstall the instant messaging app and would be able to simply log out of an account.  Right Now the social media app allows users to access the instant messaging app on other devices like desktops or laptops only via WhatsApp Web. OnePlus Co-founder Carl Pei left the Chinese smartphone company to start its own tech firm Nothing. The company is planning to launch its first true wireless earbuds in the market very soon to take on Apple, Samsung and OnePlus. According to the company, its very first product Ear 1 TWS earbuds will be launching on July 27. The company is revealing the features of the TWS earbuds through teasers but now the firm has also disclosed the pricing of the device and some of its features. According to Nothing founder Carl Pei, the upcoming Ear 1 true wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds will be offered at a global price tag of GBP 99 that translates to Rs 10,200. With this price tag, the company will go after Samsung Galaxy Buds Live and Google Pixel Buds A-Series. The company is yet to reveal the pricing for other markets including India including its availability details. However, the TWS earbuds are going to debut in the US, UK and India first on July 27. As revealed through teasers the Nothing Ear 1 TWS earbuds will be offering active noise cancellation (ANC). In addition to this, there will be support for three high-definition microphones. As revealed by the CEO the earphone will look similar to AirPods Pro. Pei in its interview with TechCrunch said, “It’s going to have leading features like noise cancellation and great build quality. Because we’re primarily going to be focused on online sales channels, we are going to be able to [make it] — I wouldn’t say ‘affordable,’ but quite a fair price to consumers. With the Ear (1), it’s a much more costly design to realize than a standard, non-transparent design. I think it’s going to be a good price at $99 USD, €99 Euros and £99. Feature-wise, it’s similar to the AirPods Pro, but the AirPods Pro is $249.”
Moreover, the company has revealed that Ear 1 will offer via ANC three “high definition”. Also, the IP purchased from Essential will not show in this first product. The CEO further revealed that “Before we were called Nothing, ‘Essential’ was one of the names we were brainstorming, internally. So that’s why we’ve acquired the trademark. We don’t have any plans to do anything with Essential.” Throwing some more light on the design the CEO explained that because of the transparent design, the company need to make sure that the device is of high quality. He further added, “ It could be getting the right magnets — as magnets are usually designed to go inside of a product and not be seen by the consumer — to figuring out the best type of glueing. You never have to solve that problem if you have a non-transparent product, but what kind of glue will keep the industrial design intact?”
The UK based tech firm Nothing is eyeing on U.K., India, Europe and North America, followed by Japan, Korea and other countries at the initial stage.  Previously the Nothing has revealed that the design concept of its upcoming TWS earphones will be a combination of transparency, iconic form, and refined functionality. It is the starting point that will define the artistry, confidence and craftsmanship that will carry our products and services for years to come.
