Xiaomi today officially introduced its latest device under its sub-brand Poco. The newly launched Poco M3 is the company’s latest budget smartphone which comes with a Dot Drop design also known as a waterdrop-style display. This is the company’s third addition to its M-series which already includes Poco M2 and Poco M2 Pro. The key specs of the device include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor and a triple rear camera set up which comes with a new design. Poco M3 specifications and features Poco M3 comes with a 6.53-inch full-HD+ display offering 1,080×2,340 pixels of resolution with a screen-to-body ratio of 90.34 percent and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The display is protected with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass. The device ships MIUI 12 for Poco based on the top of Android 10. Under the hood, there is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC paired with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB of onboard storage. The device has a rectangular-shaped triple rear camera set up that includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor with f/1 aperture. Furthermore, there is a 2-megapixel macro lens with f/2.4 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. Upfront there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.05 aperture. Poco M3 houses a 6,000mAh battery that comes with 18W fast charging support. In terms of connectivity, there is 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, a 3.5mm audio jack and a USB Type-C port for charging. There is an Infrared (IR) blaster on the phone along with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor to unlock the phone. Poco M3 price and availability details Poco M3 has made its debut in the market. There the device is available in two different configurations 4GB RAM with 64GB storage and 4GB RAM with 128GB storage option. The 64GB RAM option comes with a price tag of $149 that translates to Rs 11,000 while the 128GB storage option comes at $169 that translates to Rs 12,500. However, the device will be available at an introductory discount of $20 via Black Friday sale that will be hosted via various online channels AliExpress, Amazon, Alza.ca, eMAG, Lazada, Mi.com, Mi-Home.pl, and X-Kom. The phone will be offered in three colour options Cool Blue, Poco Yellow, and Power Black. The Indian availability of the smartphone is yet to be revealed by the company. BANNED: 43 more Chinese mobile apps get axed by the Indian Government
After banning hundreds of Chinese app in India, 43 more apps have been banned by the Government.  The latest list of banded apps now includes popular apps such as Ali Express, Snack Video, CamCard – Business Card Reader and more. As per the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, the apps have been blocked access under section 69A of the Information Technology Act due to these apps engaging in activities which are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, the security of the state and public order. Previously more than 200 apps were debarred in India that include PUBG Mobile, TikTok and others. As per the latest orders by the Government, “Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India today issued an order under section 69A of the Information Technology Act blocking access to 43 mobile apps. This action was taken based on the inputs regarding these apps for engaging in activities which are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order. Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has issued the order for blocking the access of these apps by users in India based on the comprehensive reports received from Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center, Ministry of Home Affairs.” Taking a fast recap, the first ban was put on 59 Chinese apps in June this year. The list then included TikTok, Shareit, Shein, WeChat, Club Factory and more. In the second round, more than 118 apps including PUBG was blocked under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act. In a new development 43 mobile apps more have been banned in India based on the comprehensive reports received from the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center, Ministry of Home Affairs. “Government is committed to protecting the interests of citizens and sovereignty and integrity of India on all fronts and it shall take all possible steps to ensure that” the Government order reads. With news being officially confirmed that Deathloop will arrive on consoles exclusively for PlayStation 5 on May 21, 2021, it has now been revealed how the upcoming action-adventure game developed by Arkane Studios is taking advantage of the PS5’s DualSense controller to enhance the immersive experience. According to Anne Lewis, Senior Content Manager at Bethesda Softworks that has published Deathloop, “With Deathloop’s dynamic weapons, every weapon will feel unique in your hands. From the way it fires or swings, to the way it reloads or connects with its target, you’ll feel the difference through the DualSense controller.” The PT-6 Spiker in Deathloop is an example of dynamic weapon system. The player will feel each nail fall into the magazine with granularity every time he/she reload the weapon. Also, one would feel the resistance of the adaptive trigger as they hold to align the shot, and the immediate recoil and discharge when they fire. “Every time you die on Blackreef or the loop restarts, it’s a chance to get better. Motorola is now prepping up to launch its next flagship device namely Motorola Nio. The device has now been spotted with model number XT2125 and codename ‘Nio’. The device is the company’s next flagship device after Motorola Edge+ and is expected to come with a Snapdragon 865 SoC along with a triple rear camera setup. It is also indicated that the smartphone will be available in two RAM and storage options. According to a report by TechnikNews via Adam Conway from XDA Developers Motorola is likely to bring a successor to its Edge series as a device has been spotted with model number XT2125 and codename ‘Nio’ which is expected to use Snapdragon 865 processor along with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. However, it is now confirmed but the report also indicates a 12 GB / 256 GB model.  Also, there is a Full-HD + display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 1080 × 2520 pixels of resolution. In addition to this, the German publisher also hints at a well-known OmniVision “OV64B” 64MP megapixel primary sensor which is already present on Moto G9 Power or Plus. In addition to this, the ultra-wide-angle sensor from the same OmniVision and is the 16-megapixel “ov16a10” sensor. While the third sensor is again speculated to be “ov02b1b” which is the 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front Motorola Nio is slated to come with two cutouts on the display to play house to dual selfie camera set up. The system is said to include a 16-megapixel sensor (OV16A1Q) and a Samsung sensor (S5K4H7) with a resolution of 8-megapixel. Furthermore, the alleged phone will be supporting a dual SIM slot and will ship Android 11 out of the box. The device is expected to arrive in quarter 1 of 2021. Apart from this Motorola is also gearing up to launch Moto G 5G and Moto G9 Power in the Indian market. OnePlus 9 series leaks and rumours have been doing the rounds on the web for quite some time now. Previously, the devices were spotted on Geekbench suggesting Snapdragon 875 SoC while the leaked renders suggested design tweaks. Some reports also suggested the upcoming series to have a third model. In a new development, the OnePlus 9 Pro and OnePlus 9 renders have surfaced therefore revealing the camera setup. The base model is tipped to feature a triple rear camera set up while the Pro model is likely to have a quad-camera set up at the back.

As per the leaked render of OnePlus 9 Pro and OnePlus 9 by Onleaks, the possible design of both the smartphones has been revealed.  The leaked renders of the Pro model suggest a 6.7-inch display with a hole-punch to house a selfie camera placed on the top left corner of the screen. In addition to this, the display has thin bezels and curved edges. The bottom of the phone has a USB Type-C port and a speaker grille while the power button and the Alert Slider are positioned on the right side of the frame. The left side has a volume rocker. Speaking more of the design the rear of the phone has a rectangular-shaped quad-camera module inspired by OnePlus 8T. The three lenses are positioned vertically while the fourth lens sits beside the LED flash. According to the tipster the series is said to launch in March 2021.

Another report by 91Mobiles has revealed the camera details of the standard OnePlus 9 model. The live images of the device show three camera sensors sitting inside a rectangular shaped module. Two of the three sensors are large-sized lenses. Some of the reports suggest a 48-megapixel primary sensor with 6mm focal length and another 48-megapixel ultra-wide secondary sensor. While the rest of the camera details remain undisclosed at the moment. Previously, OnePlus 9 series phones were spotted on Geekbench with model number LuBan LE2117 for the standard model that will be powered by a processor codenamed ‘lahaina’. According to a Weibo user’s analysis, the codenamed processor is likely to be an octa-core processor Snapdragon 875 SoC with a base frequency of 1.80GHz and is listed to be offering 8GB of RAM.  The OnePlus 9 series handset managed to achieve a single-core score of 1,122 and a multi-core score of 2,733.  Previous reports suggest a 144Hz display with a hole-punch cut-out. The display will be IP68-certified for dust and water resistance along with NFC support. With the un-ban of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds also known as PUBG Mobile, the Indian version of the game is finally set for a launch after a long wait. Ahead of the launch PUBG Mobile India pre-registrations have opened. Krafton has now registered the banned PUBG in India under a new subsidiary called “PUBG India Private Limited.” which is based in the city Bengaluru. Until now the company has not officially revealed the pre-registration process on the PUBG Mobile India website. But reportedly the pre-registrations for PUBG Mobile in India have gone live via TapTap app. The app is a free app to download to play various games. In addition to this, the APK version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds was also released recently on the company’s official website however several gamers reported difficulty downloading the APK version of PUBG. As per a report 3 lakh users have already registered with the PUBG Mobile India on the Taptap app.  Here is how you can register for PUBG Mobile India:
  • First, any Android or iOS user can now do the registration for the PUBG Mobile India game on the Taptap game sharing community. Also, the registrations are only open for the community members.
  • Download the TapTap app through an APK link by visiting the TapTap website
  • After downloading the app, login or create a new TapTap account to start using it
  • Now, search for PUBG Mobile India in the search option and tap on the game
  • Then click on the ‘pre-registration’ option and you are done
Also, after the company’s announcement of its comeback a separate bogus website went live showing the APK link and the Google Play Store for users to download the game but the links were inaccessible. PUBG Corp has already affirmed that it will set up an Indian subsidiary to hire over 100 employees from gaming, business, and game development backgrounds.  The company has recently got its Indian subsidiary under the title “PUBG India Private Limited” registered.  The organisation will be based in Bengaluru, Karnataka. According to Snapchat, “We built Spotlight to be a place where anyone’s content can take center stage – without needing a public account, or an influencer following. It’s a fair and fun place for Snapchatters to share their best Snaps and see perspectives from across the Snapchat community.” As far as the opportunity to earn money is concerned, the Snaps you submit to Spotlight must follow Snapchat’s content guidelines and terms that prohibit the spread of false information (including conspiracy theories), misleading content, hate speech, explicit or profane content, bullying, harassment, violence, and much more. The most important thing that has to be kept in mind before participation is that the age of participant must be 16 years or older to earn. If you’ve always been feeling too lazy to get up and switch on or turn off lights, Google Assistant is now there to help you out. Wondering how? According to Developers Platform for Google Assistant, “The Scheduled Actions feature allows users to conveniently schedule a smart home command to trigger at a later time.” Google further revealed that as a developer, one does not need to make any code changes or resubmit the smart home Action in order to enable scheduling. The tech giant has also used an example to inform that the users can schedule the command to be triggered by specifying a time or duration. For example:
  • “Hey Google, turn on the lights in five minutes.”
  • “Hey Google, turn on the lights at 7 AM.”
Mind you! Google further clarified that commands can be scheduled for the current day or another day within the next seven-day period. It also shared different examples to showcase what users can say:
  • “Hey Google, turn on my coffee maker at 8 AM tomorrow.”
  • “Hey Google, run my sprinkler in a week at 5 PM.”
Also, the users need to notice that Google can return an error if they mention a temporal adverb like “tomorrow” or “next week” without providing an exact time. Besides this, if users wish to cancel a scheduled Action, they can say, “Hey Google, cancel my scheduled Actions” or “Hey Google, remove my <device>s’ schedule.” Then, Google returns a list of the user’s scheduled Actions and asks them to mention the one they want to be cancelled. He said, “Google seems to be testing their new Task Mate app in India which pays you in Indian currency for completing tasks regarding Google app ecosystem. (Currently invitation only).” Task Mate app However, Android users can download it from Google Play Store and one needs to have a referral code received via an invite-only. The app description further reads that the participants will be paid in local currency for the tasks that you complete accurately and you will need an account with a third-party payment processor. After launching Poco M2, the Chinese smartphone company’s sub-brand Poco is all set to launch the follow up of this existing device which is Poco M3. The device is confirmed to launch on November 24. The device is the third model of the company’s M series. Just ahead of the launch the specifications and design of the upcoming smartphone have been leaked on the web. Though the smartphone has been leaked many times previously, this time the camera details of the budget smartphone has been revealed. As per the leaked CAD renders of Poco M3 the device is shown featuring a large black coloured rear camera set up covering one-third space of the back panel. Though the large camera panel only carries three sensors with LED flash and a Poco branding. While the back panel has a textured finish for better grip. The front panel has a bezel-less design and a waterdrop notch to house a selfie camera. While the fingerprint scanner and volume rocker are stated to be embedded on the right side of the phone. The SIM card slot has been given on the left side of the frame. In addition to this, the renders also reveal the yellow and blue colour options while the rumours also suggest three colour variants black, yellow, and blue.  As far as the internals of the Poco M3 are concerned it is confirmed to feature an FHD+ 6.53-inch display with a 60Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC while the rumours suggested a 4GB RAM. It is expected to house a 6,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. The Poco M3 is said to run on MIUI 12 for Poco based on top of Android 10. Camera details of the smartphone still remain unknown while it’s tipped to have a 48-megapixel primary sensor. The device is also speculated to be a rebadged variant of Redmi Note 10 As of now, there is no word from the company in terms of pricing. In addition to this, there is an 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 118-degree field of view and a 2-megapixel macro lens with f/2.4 aperture. For taking selfies and video calling there is a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/2.2 aperture. The Moto G 5G houses a 5,000mAh battery with 20W TurboPower fast charging support and is touted to last up to 2 days on a single charge. As a connectivity option, there is 5G, NFC, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, USB Type-C port, GPS among others. Moreover, it has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor placed inside the Motorola batwing logo. On the other hand, Moto G9 Power features a 6.8-inch HD+ IPS display with a resolution of 720×1,640 pixels. It runs a stock Android 10 operating system and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC paired with 4GB RAM with 128GB of expandable storage option. For photos, Moto G9 Power includes a triple camera set up on the back of the phone with a 64-megapixel primary sensor with an aperture of f/1.79. The camera set up is further assisted by two more sensors: a 2-megapixel macro sensor with an aperture of f/2.4 and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. On the front, Motorola’s smartphone sports a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture for taking selfies and video chats. According to Google, “For the past few years, we’ve worked with the mobile industry and device makers on several carrier networks in certain countries to provide chat features in Messages based on the open Rich Communication Services (RCS) standard. The chat features upgrade SMS text messaging so you can send and receive better quality photos and videos, chat over Wi-Fi or data, know when your message is read, share reactions, and enjoy more dynamic and engaging group chats.” In order to offer more security in the chat conversations, Google is continually improving security protections to safeguard the privacy and will be rolling out end-to-end encryption. The first and foremost step towards this is with one-on-one RCS conversations between people using Messages. Furthermore, end-to-end encryption makes sure that no one can read the content of the messages. This even includes Google and third parties. Google stated that this will roll out to beta testers starting this month and continue into next year. It was further notified that the eligible conversations will automatically upgrade to be end-to-end encrypted. The end-to-end encryption is available when both the sender and the receiver have Messages installed and chat features on. All that has to be done to access the newest features, simply update your Messages app to the latest version or download the app and turn chat features on. Meanwhile, Google has also retained the top spot in YouGov’s 2020 Best Brand Rankings in India to become the best health brand among urban Indians. On the other hand, YouTube secured a second spot with 53.3 and WhatsApp came down to third position with a score of 53.1. “YouGov’s 2020 Best Brand Rankings place Google in the first place yet again. In order to enable the users to seamlessly control their smart home devices with a voice assistant, Samsung has announced that Google Assistant will join Amazon Alexa and Bixby to offer enhanced discovery abilities. Mind you! Google Assistant is fully integrated into Samsung Smart TVs and requires no additional downloads, hardware, or installation. According to the South-Korean giant, this feature on the smart TVs is currently available in the UK, France, Germany and Italy. It will be further introduced to 12 other countries by the end of this year. Stating that the use of voice assistants on the Smart TVs has grown exponentially since Bixby’s launch in 2018, Seline Han, Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, said, “With Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa now supported, we are inviting our consumers to ask even more of their Smart TVs.” Samsung further revealed that the suite of leading voice assistants is now available on all 2020 4K and 8K QLED TVs, Crystal UHD TVs, The Frame, The Serif, The Sero and The Terrace, and is compatible with viewers’ existing voice assistant ecosystems. The support of voice assistant options allows the Samsung Smart TV users can now access their favorite entertainment and real-time answers on screen at a much faster pace. Besides this, the Samsung TV users can easily browse channels, adjust the volume, control playback and open apps by activating voice commands. In addition to finding new TV programs and films to watch, viewers can ask Alexa, Bixby or Google Assistant to provide the weather forecast, find out the latest game scores or play their favorite tunes. With Google Assistant, viewers will also have access to the Google services they know and love to help streamline their days, including Google Search, Photos, Maps, Calendar and more. “By bringing Google Assistant to Samsung Smart TVs, we want to connect your living room with the rest of the smart home and help you better manage your day, across your favorite Google services,” said Jack Krawczyk Director, Product Management for Google Assistant. With the integration of Amazon Alexa across Samsung’s Smart TVs earlier this year, it is available to Samsung Smart TV users in 14 countries globally. Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich, a joint US-European satellite built to monitor global sea levels, lifted off on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Space Launch Complex 4E at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California Saturday at 9:17 a.m. PST (10:47 p.m. IST). The Michael Freilich will extend a nearly 30-year continuous dataset to boost weather forecasts. The launch is managed by NASA’s Launch Services Program, based at the agency’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. With an aim to provide detailed information on large-scale ocean currents to support ship navigation near coastlines, Karen St. Germain, director of NASA’s Earth Science Division, said, “The Earth is changing, and this satellite will help deepen our understanding of how. The changing Earth processes are affecting sea level globally, but the impact on local communities varies widely. International collaboration is critical to both understanding these changes and informing coastal communities around the world.” NASA revealed that the spacecraft disintegrated from the rocket’s second stage and unfolded its twin sets of solar arrays after entering in orbit. Furthermore, the ground controllers successfully acquired the satellite’s signal. The initial telemetry reports revealed the Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich in good health. It will now undergo a series of exhaustive checks and calibrations before it starts collecting science data in a few months’ time. Mind you! This spacecraft has been named after Michael Freilich, who was a leading figure in advancing ocean observations from space. Freilich, the former director of NASA’s Earth Science Division, died on August 5, 2020. It’s worth noting that this spacecraft will pass the baton to its twin, Sentinel-6B, in 2025. Furthermore, NASA notified that this latest mission highlights the first international involvement in Copernicus, the European Union’s Earth Observation Programme. Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich’s suite of scientific instruments will also make atmospheric measurements that can be used to complement climate models and help meteorologists make better weather forecasts. This launch is the very essence of partnership, precision, and incredible long-term focus as Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich not only provides a critical measurement, it is essential for continuing this historic multi-decadal sea level record. It is worth stating that the data from this satellite is so critical for climate monitoring and weather forecasting. For several years the authority has made several changes to the design of the voter ID card but all these years one thing that has been common is that it has always been in a black-and-white colour scheme with a holographic sticker. But now ECI has begun issuing coloured Voter ID cards along with a revamped design. Voter ID cards are not only used to exercise your right to vote by producing it at the polling booth during an election. But it is your identity proof, age proof as well as address proof in India for several purposes. Even if one does not have its AADHAAR card or any other ID proof this can be utilised for general purposes. So if you are bored with that black and white card you can now do away with the older ones and can get a new one with a revamped design. The Election Commission of India has made some new changes to it and they will be provided in coloured ones with India’s tricolour flag background as well as your colour picture. Those who have already applied or are newly registered then you will now receive these coloured cards. But those who already have those old looking cards and wish to get a new coloured one then it can be obtained just by paying an extra fee of Rs 30. So here we are with a step by step guide on how you can download a coloured voter ID card in India. But before we begin keep all your important documents ready as you will need them during registration. Important things that should be kept in mind is that you must have a valid mobile number and email ID. The background of your photograph should be in light or white in colour. Documents required:
  1. Address proof
  2. Age of proof (10th certificate or birth certificate)
  3. Scanned photographs with specified dimensions as per your State’s website

How to apply for a new coloured Voter ID card:

  • If your you have just attained the age of 18 years then you are now eligible exercise your voting rights in India and if you have not yet applied for one then your can simply get yourself registered by visiting NSVP website
  • Click on “Apply online for register of a new voter”
  • Fill in all your personal details in the given form and keep following what is promoted
  • When you are finished submitting the application form you will be able to track the status of your Voter ID. When your name gets listed on the fresh electoral roll you will then receive your coloured or your tool to exercise your voting rights in India within 45-60 days.

How to apply for new Coloured card:

  • Without any charges, the authority will be mailing you a black and white voter ID card but our purpose here is to help you get a coloured one. Then all you need to do is visit your state’s official Chief Electoral Officer website.
  • Now click on the link for registration to get a new colour PVC Voter ID
  • Again enter all of your required details and submit.
  • Now verify these details using the verification code that you will receive on your mobile number 
  • Within 45-60 days, the new Voter ID will finally be mailed to your registered address.
  • It should be noted that you can also apply for the new cards offline by visiting MEE Seva or Eseva offices and paying a fee of Rs 30.
