Google to automatically enable two-factor authentication on certain accounts to keep sign-in safe

To better protect the user’s credentials and the resources, Google is going to automatically enable two-factor authentication on certain accounts. This 2FA is a higher security process that usually involves a password for any biometric factor such as a fingerprint or facial scan. This method of security process is said to protect its user from online security threats. Google says that many people believe that a password should be as long and complicated as possible – but in many cases, this can increase the security risk. Complicated passwords tempt users into using them for more than one account. Therefore the strongest passwords can be compromised and used by an attacker. So to protect the users from online threats, Google has announced to enable two-factor authentication by default on select user accounts.  image of second step authentication Google sign in form The company via its latest blog post said, “Today we ask people who have enrolled in two-step verification (2SV) to confirm it’s them with a simple tap via a Google prompt on their phone whenever they sign in. Soon we’ll start automatically enrolling users in 2SV if their accounts are appropriately configured. (You can check the status of your account in our Security Checkup).” According to Google by introducing two-factor authentication aims to provide people with a safer and more secure authentication experience than passwords alone. Right now the 2FA is completely optional and it is expected to made mandatory in the coming future It should be noted that social media apps such as WhatsApp, Facebook and Twitter offer 2FA on their platform. Furthermore, Google is also working on advanced security technologies for devices to make this multi-factor authentication seamless and even more secure than a password. The tech giant has already built security keys directly into Android devices and launched the Google Smart Lock app for iOS so that people can use their phones as their second form of authentication.  Whereas the Password Manager built directly into Chrome,  Android and now iOS, uses the latest security technology to protect your passwords across all the sites and apps. This is said to make it easier for users to create and use complex and unique passwords, without the need to remember or repeat them.  The  Password Manager is also integrated into a single-click Google Security Checkup that tells the users if any of the passwords have been compromised or if you are reusing passwords across different sites, and the strength of your passwords.  Moreover, Google recently introduced a new Password Import feature allowing people to easily upload up to 1,000 passwords at a time from various third party sites into our Password Manager (for free). This will ensure that all of your passwords are protected by our advanced security and privacy technology.   It is stated that features such as Password Import, Password Manager and Security Checkup together with authentication products like Sign-in with Google will reduce the spread of weak credentials. Choose your TV: TCL 55P715 Vs Samsung 55RU7100

We are living in a digital-first era, where smart TVs are our go-to entertainment buddy, after smartphones. But when it comes to choosing the best, people often get confused and can’t decide which one to buy, primarily due to the availability of multiple smart TV options in the market. Today, the smart TV sector houses a large number of brands, including both OEMs and smartphone makers, who are frequently coming up with new launches every now and then. In fact, with the evolution of technologies, the smart TV ecosystem has been evolving rapidly with innovative technologies that have redefined the TV viewing experience of new-age users. But in many instances, it is not the advanced features, but their presence at the most reasonable price that attracts the customer to buy a TV. In today’s fierce competition between various smart TV brands, TCL and Samsung are two such players that are leading the game with their unmatched offerings in the market. Here’s a quick comparison between Samsung’s and TCL’s TVs that will help you decide the better brand that offers best-in-class technologies at a price that doesn’t hurt the pocket:

TCL 55P715 TV Vs Samsung 55RU7100 TV:

Display

The Samsung UHD smart LED TV comes with 4K UHD resolution, HDR 10+, UHD Dimming, and Pure Colour for enhanced TV viewing with greater clarity, accuracy, and details. The TCL variant, on the other hand, offers 4K HDR, Dynamic Color Enhancement and Micro Dimming for optimized display and redefined viewing. In short, both the TVs offer almost equal capabilities in terms of amazing picture and image quality, which makes the score, 1-1.

Audio

TCL comes integrated with 30W powerful Dolby Audio speakers, which makes it a winner in terms of audio quality. At the same time, Samsung comes with only 20W sound output. This makes the score 2-1.

Smart Control

The Samsung TV features an intelligent voice assistant, enabling users to speak to the remote and play their favourite content. The TCL device, however, comes with a hands-free voice control feature, where users can directly give commands to the TV and watch movies, shows, or open apps without a remote and just their voice. And with TCL’s AI x IoT, it can connect Google-enabled Smart home devices. This is another aspect where TCL outshines Samsung. The new score is 3-1.

Design and screen size

Again, both the TV have slim and minimalistic designs, and offers full-screen display, providing users with a breathtaking cinematic viewing experience on a bigger screen with an enhanced level of immersion.

Content

With the self-develop UI TCL Channel, which incorporates both global and local content partners, TCL offers literally unlimited content, which allows viewers to enjoy variety; however, Samsung too has a good hour of content, so the score is 4-2.

Price

We have already seen so many features offered by both the brands, with TCL a few points ahead of Samsung. However, the price factor will completely surprise you, and make it very clear why TCL is the absolute winner in this race. The Samsung 55-inch TV is priced at INR 49,150, while the TCL 55-inch TV is worth INR 42,999 with more features than Samsung at a lesser price. This makes the final score, 5-2 with TCL being the ultimate choice for customers who are seeking best-in-class offerings at a lucrative price like this. However, the developer Krafton might relaunch it in the Indian market, but with a different naming scheme. Since PUBG Mobile India was banned in India, there has been lots of rumours and leaks floating on the web about its launch details. However, the developer Krafton has been trying to keep details of the launch a secret from the public until the official new trailer of the upcoming game was accidentally posted on its YouTube channel but was removed later on. Although a user on Twitter managed to get the screenshots of the 6 seconds short teaser video before it was deleted.
In a new development, the fresh version of the game will be specially launched for the Indian market and with new branding. As said, PUBG Mobile India has been rebranded to Battlegrounds Mobile India ahead of the release. The company’s official Facebook page, YouTube channel as well as Indian website, has also been renamed to the new one.  PUBG Mobile developers Krafton is yet to officially reveal the launch date but the official FaceBook page suggests“@BattlegroundsMobileIN and an unverified account on Facebook has also shared a banner photo with the title Battlegrounds Mobile India along. Samsung Galaxy A12 Review: A good day to day budget handset

We have been using the Samsung Galaxy A12 for quite some time now. We are today sharing our experience in our review of Samsung Galaxy A12. Before we move ahead let’s quickly see what’s the biggest USP of the phone. The device features a 48-megapixel quad-camera setup and a 6.5’-inch HD+ Infinity-V display. It also packs a 5,000mAh battery and is priced under the sub Rs 15,000 segment. With that let’s dive into the Samsung Galaxy A12 review starting with the design.

Design and Display

In terms of design, the Samsung Galaxy A12 is identical to the Galaxy M12(review), which we have recently reviewed. It bears the same rugged texture on most parts of the rear panel except the bottom quarter where you will find a smooth finish. A good thing about the rear panel is that it does not attract any smudges or fingerprints. There is a quad rear camera set up in the left-hand corner of the back. Unlike M12 here the camera bump is a little raised and not lies completely flat. Even with a heavy camera bump, it doesn’t wobble when it is kept on a hard flat surface. The phone does feel bulky in the hand but the weight distribution is good. Consumers will take some time to get used to it.   Samsung Galaxy A12 review On the utility front, it has a power button which is also a fingerprint scanner along with the volume rocker that is given on the right side of the frame. Frankly speaking, this side-mounted fingerprint scanner is as fast as the Galaxy M12, which is a good thing. The left side of the frame is clean except for the dual SIM tray being placed on it. The headphone jack, USB Type-C port and speaker grill are given at the bottom. Moving on to the display, the Samsung Galaxy A12 features a 6.5-inch HD+ TFT Infinity-V Display with 720×1,600 pixels of resolution and an aspect ratio of 20:9. It has a standard 60Hz refresh rate, which is the only difference between the Galaxy M12 and A12. However, considering the price Samsung should have gone for an FHD or an AMOLED display same as provided by its competitors like Redmi Note 10 (review) and Redmi 9 Power (review)at a similar price point. Samsung Galaxy A12 review  Still, at this price point, the display looks pretty nice. Rather than the hole punch cut out, it has a V-shaped camera notch at the top. The colour and the brightness are absolutely fine even when using outdoors. At the same time, the display is WIDEVINE L1 certified so that you can stream HD content on it easily. The viewing angles are good too.

Performance and Cameras

Talking about the performance, the Samsung Galaxy A12 is powered by octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 SoC paired with up to 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage. Noticeably P35 is a mediocre chipset that also has an old processor. The phone is good for day to day usage but in terms of gaming, it is not recommended for high-end gaming but for normal casual gaming only.  It is an entry-level phone but you can still play some games on it such as COD: Mobile on low settings. The mobile phone’s performance could have been better if the company opted to go for a better chipset in this price range. In terms of RAM and storage, the smartphone comes with 4GB RAM and 64/128GB of storage. review of Samsung Galaxy A12 With the main tech specs out of the way, let’s talk about the software. The phone runs One UI 2.5 based on Android 10. The Galaxy A12 is secured by Knox security running version 3.6. Again in terms of security, the device equips a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and face unlock, which are equally fast. Also, OS-wise you won’t get to see much bloatware or ads.  Ok, now that’s done now let’s talk about the cameras on the device. On Samsung Galaxy A12 you get a quad rear camera setup that includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.0 aperture. In addition to this, there is a 5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, a 2-megapixel macro lens with  f/2.4 aperture and another 2-megapixel depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. Upfront there is an 8-megapixel selfie sensor with an f/2.2 aperture. review of Samsung Galaxy A12 The shots taken from the Galaxy A12 offer a good dynamic range in good light conditions. Whereas the wide-angle lens is helpful in landscape photography and this also offers good wide-angle night shots too. The macro sensor allows you to get really close to the subject. The portrait shots are perfect with edge detection on point. You can get a fair idea from the below samples.
Live Focus and Macro shots
Wide and Ultra-Wide Angle Shots
The rear cameras also allow you to record videos in both normal and wide-angle mode. It allows you to shoot up to 1080p videos at 30fps and this applies to the front camera as well. The camera quality of the phone is impressive for the price. Speaking of the Battery life, the Samsung Galaxy A12 is fueled by a massive 5,000mAh battery supplied with a 15W fast charger. It takes more than 2 hours and 30 minutes to get fully charged from zero to 100. When fully charged it can easily last for a day and a half or even two days depending on the usage.

Verdict

Samsung Galaxy A12 is a decent smartphone. The company has worked on its form factor while providing better cameras and enhanced battery life. Though it is not a perfect budget phone considering its display and gaming performance as its competitor, it is very close. To sum it up, it comes with good cameras, it is perfect for day to day usage and we would recommend Galaxy A12 who want something in the price range of Rs 10,000 – 15,000. Also then when Twitter was testing this feature, which was only accessible to a limited number of people to host sessions.  Twitter via its blog post announced that from now onwards users with over 600 followers on the micro-blogging site will be allowed to host an audio chat room known as Spaces. There is now a separate app for Space that can only be accessed within the Twitter app.  “Today, we’re bringing the ability to host a Space to all accounts with 600 or more followers on Twitter. Based on what we’ve learned so far, these accounts are likely to have a good experience hosting live conversations because of their existing audience. Before bringing the ability to create a Space to everyone, we’re focused on learning more, making it easier to discover Spaces, and helping people enjoy them with a great audience,” the company commented while announcing the rollout of Twitter Spaces. As per the company, Twitter Spaces will let you hear audio and talk about what’s happening now and what’s most important to you – live. From Tweeting to talking, reading to listening, Spaces encourages and unlocks real, open conversations on Twitter with the authenticity and nuance, depth and power only the human voice can bring. Twitter Spaces In short, this feature is only dedicated to small and intimate conversations with just a few others, or for big discussions about what’s unfolding right now with thousands of listeners. The Spaces on Twitter is available for both iOS and Android devices. So when someone you follow starts or speaks in a Space, it’ll appear at the top of your timeline as a purple bubble for as long as it’s live. When you join Space as a listener, you will be able to react with emojis, check out any pinned Tweets, follow along with captions, Tweet or DM Space, or request to speak.  Twitter Spaces On the other hand, when you join a Space as a speaker you will also be able to pin Tweets to Space, turn on captions so everyone can follow along with what you’re saying, and Tweet Space so your followers can join. According to Twitter, the users are allowed to invite people to join by Tweeting or DM’ing.  Apart from this privacy and security have also been taken care of. The safety control will be available to both hosts and the speakers. For instance, when you are the host you can easily mute speakers and take away their mic, or remove them from the Space completely. In addition to this, you can also mute all speakers at the same time and a new management page for easier hosting. The security controls also allow you to report and block others in the Space or report the Space. And those who have been blocked cannot join a space that you are hosting otherwise you see labels and warnings if someone you’ve blocked is speaking in a Space you join. Twitter is also working to improve the user’s experience in the coming months. A limited number of hosts will also be able to sell tickets. They can set ticket prices and how many are available to sell. This will allow them to earn the majority of the revenue from ticket sales and Twitter will keep a small amount as well.
