With the introduction of Facebook’s Messenger Rooms that can hold up to 50 participants in the same group call, the social-networking giant had then announced that soon it will be adding ways to create rooms from Instagram and WhatsApp too in order to build the communication bridge. And now news is rife that a latest WhatsApp beta has integrated this real-time video chatting feature.
A WABetaInfo report has revealed that the WhatsApp beta app version 2.20.163 for Android showcases a new integration with Messenger Rooms. This allows users to have access to this real-time video-chatting feature that enables up to 50 people to participate in the same group call.
If you too have 2.20.163 Android beta update installed, the news report added that you can check for WhatsApp’s new integration with Messenger Rooms by checking out the chat sheet if the Room icon is place alongside like Documents, Gallery, Audio, Location and Contacts. Why we didn’t mentioned about the Camera icon here, the reason is it has been replaced by Rooms in the WhatsApp beta app version 2.20.163 for Android.
On Clicking on Rooms, WhatsApp will introduce Room Messenger to you and you can get started by creating Rooms. But there is a second option too as you can access Room Messenger via Call tab. You select your contacts and then continue in messenger to create Room.
According to the report, the Messenger Rooms integration on WhatsApp has initially been introduced to users in the United States. However, it is believed that it will be made available in other regions soon.
In a blog post earlier, Facebook had revealed that “Messenger Rooms make it easy to spend quality time with friends, loved ones and people who share your interests. Create a room right from Messenger or Facebook, and invite anyone to join your video call, even if they don’t have a Facebook account. Rooms will soon hold up to 50 people with no time limit.”
“Messenger Rooms is a new way to spend time with friends and family through group video calls when you can’t be together in person. We built Rooms with privacy in mind and designed controls to let you manage your experience,” said Erin Egan, Chief Privacy Officer, Policy.
Let’s check out 5 features that have been introduced to make Room Messenger secured:
Locking: Rooms can be locked or unlocked once a call begins. If a room is locked, no one else can join, except a Group admin for rooms created through a Group.
Removing a participant: The room creator can remove any unwanted participants. If the room creator removes someone from the call or leaves, the room will lock automatically and the room creator must unlock the call for others to join.
Leaving: If at any point you feel unsafe in a room, you can leave. Just because a room is locked doesn’t mean you have to stay.
Reporting: You can report a room name or submit feedback about a room if you believe it violated Facebook’s Community Standards. But since Facebook don’t watch or listen to your audio or video calls, it’s important to know that reports and feedback will not include audio or video from the room.
Blocking: You can block someone on Facebook or Messenger who may be bothering you and we won’t inform them. When someone you’ve blocked is logged into Facebook or Messenger, they won’t be able to join a room you’re in and you won’t be able to join theirs.

In order to allow users to find just the right way to express themselves, Facebook acquires GIPHY, a leader in visual expression and creation, as part of the Instagram team. In a blog post, Vishal Shah, VP Product, said, “GIPHY makes everyday conversations more entertaining, and so we plan to further integrate their GIF library into Instagram and our other apps so that people can find just the right way to express themselves.”
Several Facebook and Instagram users already know and love GIPHY. Stressing that almost 50% of GIPHY’s traffic comes from the Facebook family of apps and half of that from Instagram alone, Shah added that “By bringing Instagram and GIPHY together, we can make it easier for people to find the perfect GIFs and stickers in Stories and Direct. Both our services are big supporters of the creator and artist community, and that will continue. Together, we can make it easier for anyone to create and share their work with the world.”
In a blog post, Facebook stated that it has used GIPHY’s API for years, not just in Instagram, but in the Facebook app, Messenger and WhatsApp. Notifying that GIPHY will continue to operate its library (including its global content collection), Facebook revealed that it is looking forward to investing further in its technology and relationships with content and API partners. People will still be able to upload GIFs; developers and API partners will continue to have the same access to GIPHY’s APIs; and GIPHY’s creative community will still be able to create great content.
Expressing excitement to announce that GIPHY has been acquired by Facebook and is joining the team at Instagram, an official blog post on GIPHY stated, “Instagram has revolutionized self-expression. More than 1 billion people use Instagram to communicate how they’re feeling and what they’re passionate about — we can’t wait to help those people become even more animated! We’ve had a lot of fun teaming up with Instagram over the years; GIPHY’s Stickers were the perfect fit for layering on Instagram Stories, while our GIF search allowed everyone to capture that perfect emotion in Instagram’s DMs. Based on the success of those collaborations (and many others) we know that there are exciting times ahead of us.”
GIFs and stickers give people meaningful and creative ways to express themselves. We see the positivity in how people use GIPHY in our products today, and we know that bringing the GIPHY team’s creativity and talent together with ours will only accelerate how people use visual communication to connect with each other.
Did you see your Facebook friends sharing avatars of themselves on the social-networking platform? In what seems to be Facebook’s strategy to take on popular Bitmoji avatars, the Mark Zuckerberg-led social media giant has now lifted curtains off its own avatar this week in the US.
Asserting that so much of our interactions these days are taking place online, Fijdi Simo, head of Facebook App at Facebook, said, “It’s more important than ever to be able to express yourself personally on Facebook. Avatars enable you to share a range of emotions and expressions via a digital persona that’s uniquely representative of you, so we’re excited to bring this new form of self-expression to more people around the world.”
Facebook users can try using these avatars in several different ways that includes:
While post a comment
While sharing Stories
While using Messenger
It was revealed that Facebook would soon be introducing avatars as backgrounds in text posts. With so many emotions and expressions to choose from, avatars enables Facebook users you to react and engage more authentically with family and friends across the app.
“It’s important to us that you can personalize your avatar so it represents your unique, authentic self, which is why we’re also adding in a new range of customizations, too —such as new hairstyles, complexions, and outfits,” added Simo.
In order to create your avatar you can follow the simple steps:
This how you get your personalised avatar on Facebook. And if you are not able to make your avatar, wait for Facebook to roll it globally.
Meanwhile, Facebook has also acquired GIPHY, a leader in visual expression and creation, as part of the Instagram team.
After the recent Redmi Note 9 series online launch due to coronavirus pandemic, the smartphones are up for sale across the globe except China. News is rife that the company is planning to roll out new 5G-enabled handsets with a common design; however the devices may be powered by MediaTek processors as far as specifications are concerned.
According to a GizmoChina report, “These alleged smartphones with model numbers M2004J7AC and M2004J7BC are being rigorously tested on Geekbench.” Mind you! It was reported that these smartphones will run on the MediaTek MT6875 octa-core processor clocked at 2GHz.
Earlier, a device with model number M2004J7AC was discovered on TENAA revealing its entire specifications. Now, we spotted that the specification listed before goes in line with the Geekbench listing. What differs is the name of the motherboard, which GizmoChina reveals to be ‘atom’ and ‘bomb’, respectively. Besides this, both smartphones chipset could be the lately announced Dimensity 800 or the upcoming Dimensity 820. It was notified that the Dimensity 800 could be an upgraded version of the Dimensity 800 SoC that was announced last year.
According to the TENAA listing, the Redmi M2004J7AC smartphone, which weighs 208 grams, comes with dimensions of 164.15 x 75.75 x 8.99mm. Powered by 2.6GHz Octa-core processor, the upcoming smartphone is likely to house a 6.57-inch OLED display along with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. There seems to be a small waterdrop notch on the display for the selfie camera. The 20:9 aspect ratio supporting OLED panel is integrated with a fingerprint sensor.
If we believe the rumour mills, the Redmi M2004J7AC smartphone is expected to run Android 10 OS. Moreover, it has been leaked that it will be available in 4 variants:
6GB RAM + 64GB storage capacity
6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage capacity
8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage capacity
8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage capacity
In case a user wishes to have access to an extra storage capacity, that could be done using a microSD card slot.
Now moving on to the battery front, rumour mills have churned the news that the minimum capacity of the Redmi M2004J7AC smartphone’s battery is 4,420mAh that could be available along with a 22.5W fast charger. On the camera front, the Redmi M2004J7AC is rumoured to come with 48-megapixel rear camera and 16-megapixel selfie shooter.
In this era of penetrating digitalisation, people across the globe use their smartphones for online shopping, transferring money, paying their bills, accessing their social media accounts, etc. From password logins to block-chain keys, many of us regularly store valuable information on our smartphones. This is what makes our mobile devices a target for malicious actors. Samsung claimed that its Galaxy S20’s secure processor is the company’s solution to counter against hardware attacks.
In order to breach smartphone security, malicious actors can manipulate components (physical attacks), provoke hardware errors (fault attacks), or analyse heat and electromagnetic emissions (side-channel attacks). These attacks, also known as hardware attacks, can only happen if the hacker gets hold of the device physically.
According to Samsung, The component is a physical chip in the Galaxy S20 that provides an isolated space to protect confidential data in the device. Besides the continuous scrambling and encrypting of confidential data, the smartphone employs a physical shield to guard against physical attacks. Mind you! This chip can also detect invalid voltage or temperature changes and is equipped with security algorithms to thwart side-channel attacks, added Samsung.
The secure processor in Samsung Galaxy S20 smartphone protects a wide range of valuable data on your smartphone, starting from the lock screen. It ensures that your lock screen PIN, pattern, or password are not susceptible to guesses by making it almost impossible for attackers to reset the error counter, which monitors the number of failed unlock attempts.
Besides the lock screen data, the secure processor can also process block-chain private keys, which are similar to banking passwords for crypto-currency wallets. The physical chip fitted in Samsung Galaxy S20 smartphone even supports Strongbox Keymaster that provides hardware protection for private keys or sensitive data on third-party apps.
Emphasising that it want users to enjoy our technology and innovations without a worry, Samsung asserted that this “is why Galaxy devices come with a wide range of industry-leading security solutions to protect personal data. Samsung Knox protects, isolates, and secures data from the hardware chip up, while Secure Wi-Fi provides a safe environment for internet browsing on public wireless connections. And in case of loss or theft, the Find My Mobile service enables users to remotely locate the smartphone, as well as backup and protect data stored on the device.”
Samsung added that it continued to build on this solid security foundation for the Galaxy S20 smartphone. “At the heart of the enhanced system is the secure processor, which is engineered to ensure your data is protected even against advanced hardware attacks,” as per a blog post by Samsung.
As a part of Samsung Knox’s multi-layered security platform, the secure processor in the Galaxy S20 smartphone will not only keep your data protected on the go but also enable safer, more convenient mobile experiences in the future.

The Chinese premium smartphone company, OnePlus, last month launched Bullets Wireless Z earphones in the market alongside OnePlus 8 Series. Now reportedly the company is planning to launch its first true wireless earbuds. The company is expected to launch its TWS earbuds in July this year alongside OnePlus Z at a special event.
According to a tipster Max J OnePlus True wireless earbuds could launch in July this year. Max J is the same tipster who predicted the launch date for the most anticipated OnePlus Z and coincidentally both the devices are expected to land in the same month. He also shared a picture of the upcoming OnePlus TWS earbuds revealing the design of the earbuds that looks similar to the Apple AirPods. The earbuds appear to have a very simple design however the ear tips are more rounded than the Apple AirPods. Moreover, it seems to come with an IR sensor. According to the tipster, the image shared is an actual representation of the design of the earbuds. The earphones come with stems so that the mics are closer to your mouth and the user would be audible to the other person during a call. The OnePlus TWS earbuds are expected to come with features like noise cancellation and wireless charging. Not many specs and features have been revealed, not even the expected pricing by what name the earbuds are going to be called.
However, the company has not said anything related to the upcoming product. Last year in December a tipster revealed that the company might bring its true wireless earbuds alongside the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. The concept image of the earbuds was also shared on the web but the much-anticipated audio device could not make it to the market in preference the company launched an affordable option as Bullets Wireless Z alongside the series with a price tag of Rs 1,999 in India. The earphones are available in three colour options Black, Blue and Oat and can be purchased via e-commerce website Amazon.
The OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z supports Warp Charge tech which is claimed to deliver up to 10 hours of music playback when you charge it for just 10 minutes an on a full charge it provides 20 hours of battery life. The headphones come with Magnetic Control to pause or kickoff music by joining or separating the earbuds.
If we tell you that you can see through your smartphone camera, would you believe us? Well, news is rife that OnePlus 8 Pro’s custom 5MP sensor can enable its users see through some surfaces if the right conditions are met.
Discovered by XDA-Developers’ Max Weinbach and other fans, it was revealed that the Color Filter camera was spotted on OnePlus 8 Pro smartphone can process infrared light to provide in-camera effects as it can penetrate via materials without IR shielding.
Mind you! You can see things only through some materials like plastic. In a tweet, Ben Zeskin uploaded a video showcasing Apple TV set-top box. Initially, the set-top box was seen as it normally looks like a black plastic box. However, one could see what is inside the set-top box after activating Photochrom mode on the OnePlus 8 Pro.
To our surprise, a news report by AndroidPIT has notified that the fourth camera on the back of the OnePlus 8 Pro can somehow see through certain kinds of cloth. However, it clarified that the smartphone is unlikely to come fitted with a “nude scanner,” so you worry not.
The news report further stated that standard cameras that seen in smartphones come with colour filter along with IR filter revealing only the amount of light that falls on the lens of the camera by blocking light that’s outside the visible spectrum. On the contrary, OnePlus has tried experimenting with camera that is sensitive to IR light to produce that is transparent like X-rays.
In any case, it’s highly unlikely that you can see through clothes of people walking on the street. Otherwise this cool effect might have turned into a proper privacy nightmare.
In April, the Chinese smartphone company had launched OnePlus 8 Pro alongside its new OnePlus Bullets Wireless Z earpods in an online event. The 5G-enabled OnePlus 8 Pro comes with a bigger 6.78-inch QHD+ Fluid AMOLED display along with up to 120Hz refresh rate. The South Korean smartphone company, Samsung, launched another smartphone in the market. The company has introduced the world’s 5G first smartphone with a quantum encryption technology called Samsung Galaxy A Quantum. To produce the smartphone the company collaborated with SK Telecom. The device is powered by a Quantum Random Number Generator (QRNG) chipset aka SKT IDQ S2Q000.
The Quantum Chip has been developed by SK Telecom’s branch ID Quantique that is based out of Switzerland. With the help of the Chip, the device is capable of generating the world’s smallest unpredictable quantum random numbers and can create security keys that improve the apps and services security. Usually, random number generators that are currently being used in the devices at this time are most prone to be targeted by the attackers. Whereas the Quantum Random Number Generator comes with LED along with a CMOS sensor and the setup measures 2.5×2.5mm.
The LED emits light (photons) which is captured by the image sensor then the QRNG chip utilizes the information to evaluate quantum randomness and generates a random number. This random number is handed over to various smartphone apps for user’s authentication as well as generating encryption keys for instance when the user uses a mobile payment app. This is said to be the safest and unhackable solution at the moment.
The price of the Samsung Galaxy A Quantum has been set at KRW 640,000 that translates to Rs 39,000. The device is now up for pre-order and is scheduled to go on sale from May 22 in South Korea. The smartphone will be available in three colour options Black, Blue, and Silver.

After a lot of hype and speculations, Tencent Games recently releases PUBG Mobile 0.18.0. The new update brought a lot of features along with a new landscape, housing areas, roads and much more. New weapons, changes in UI, currency as well as skins were added to the popular game. Now get ready for the next update which is being rolled out with the version number 1.18.0. The new update brings some new to the Mad Miramar, The Bluehole Mode, exciting new weapons.
PUBG Mobile Update 1.18.0 new game mode Bluehole Mode that is set up on Erangel. It comes with a new anti-camping mechanic that could significantly rebalance the PUBG Mobile ecosystem, the company says.
According to the company, there are two zones in the new game mode, one within the larger zone, and players inside this smaller zone risk damage. This mode increases the spawn rate, and the last team standing will win the Chicken Dinner.
The newest addition to the map is the inner zone. When you are pushed into the inner blue zone you are going to go through the same amount of damage as you faced in the outer zone. Which means the players should try not to get inside the inner zone until the blue zone becomes the next safe zone.
“The advantage of this zone is that all the players already know where the next zone will be formed which means the current blue circle will become the next safe zone, following which another blue circle will be formed inside it and so on as the game progresses. Every squad will get the same time to enter the zone and battle each other out.”
In addition to this, all the supplies will increase by 50 percent in the Classic Mode Erangel map that will allow the players to revive their teammates within 4 seconds. Also now the battle area has become smaller in size because the blue zone is now inside the outer region. The Bluehole mode has a one of a kind gameplay experience of a second interior zone. This gives us the opportunity to see which places on the map are safe and where danger could be hiding out. Taking advantage of the Erangel map the players can now choose weapons. You can choose the best gun such as AWM, DP-28, M249, M416 and LMGs because of their long and mid-range extensivity.
As per the company, the Bluehole Mode challenges players with a second zone that risks damage and tackles players that camp out while active players risk their lives by being on the move. This can also be used for our benefit. You can start off by navigating the borders of the second zone to remove the opportunistic looters. Those who move towards the second zone for loot can use vehicles to keep damage to the bare minimum. Players who are just skirting the zone can consider these vehicles free kills as opponents need to escape the zone. You will have a clear division between your opponents and safety which is a simple tradeoff, even if the loot is not easily accessible.
