Xiaomi is working on a smartphone with periscope camera lens: Report

Chinese technology company Xiaomi is reportedly working on a new smartphone that will come with a periscope camera lens. A report that has just surfaced online recently cites the company’s recent application with the State Intellectual Property Office of China.

According to the report, that first surfaced online on Chinese publication called MyDrivers, the application has been titled as ‘Camera Components and Electronic Devices’ and it suggests that the company is working on a handset with a periscope camera lens. We should mention that this kind of camera has been used in the past by companies and it offers optical zoom capabilities without increasing the thickness of the camera and lens modules.

We should mention that the patent carried an application number ‘CN201822150093.2’, and has the date December 20, 2018, written on it. While this was released to the public a few days back, as of now, it is not known which of Xiaomi’s upcoming handsets will come with a periscope camera lens.

But then, since it is a premium feature, it is expected to be present on a high-end smartphone only. Currently, the only high-end smartphone that Xiaomi is set to launch is Mi Mix 4, which will be a flagship of the company. A recent report about the smartphone suggested that it will come with a 64MP sensor.

It is also worth pointing out that with most patents, it is never clear whether the company is developing the technology to patent it or to launch it in an upcoming smartphone. As we mentioned earlier, flagships from other companies like Huawei P30 Pro and Oppo Reno 10X Zoom have already used a periscope lens to offer a great photography experience to its audience.

Huawei P30 Pro

Huawei P30 Pro, as well as Oppo Reno 10X Zoom,  have been launched in India already. While Huawei’s flagship that comes with digital zooming capabilities of up to 50x is priced at Rs 71,990 in India for its lone 8GB RAM/256GB storage variant, Oppo Reno 10X Zoom was launched at Rs 39,990 for its base variant that comes with 6GB RAM/128GB storage. The high-end variant of the device that has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage can be bought at Rs 49,990.

In fact, Huawei is now expected to launch its Mate 30 Pro smartphone in the second half of the year, and much like P30 Pro, the handset will also come with four cameras on its back panel.

Google Pixel 4 to sport a 16MP telephoto lens: Report

Last month, Google adopted a very different marketing strategy when it posted the picture of its next flagship smartphone – Pixel 4 – on its Twitter profile. While other companies stay tight-lipped about their devices until they are launched, Google actually gave the world a first look at it months in advance.

Even though Google has confirmed a few things about its next flagship b sharing the image, new reports about the smartphone keep pouring in. An Android Q code leak has now surfaced online that says that the secondary camera of will feature 16MP telephoto lens.

We should mention that the camera of the Pixel devices is their most highlighted feature. The previous flagship smartphones – Pixel 2 and Pixel 3 – come with a single camera sensor on its back panel. In the picture that the company shared, it can be seen that Google Pixel 4 will come with dual rear camera sensors. This is the first time when the company will be launching its device with two cameras on its rear panel. But since the photo was released, fans were wondering only one thing: Whether Google Pixel 4 has a telephoto lens or an ultra-wide lens.

A leak from Android Q last week suggested that the Pixel 4 smartphone will come with a telephoto lens. Now, according to Google’s Camera app code, the device will feature a 16MP telephoto lens. The code has been discovered in the beta version of Android Q with build number QP1A.190626.001. The Android Q beta 5 is scheduled to be released in August, but some users have already received the new update that will include the new Google Camera app v6.3 that also features a new location for Night Sight.

According to XDA developers’ report, when they started scanning the code of the camera APK, it revealed a few more interesting features.

They found out that changes were made to Google’s internal code name ‘sabre’ that is used for its super Res Zoom feature. Two new sensor IDs that were not present in the previous version APK were also found. The two mentioned IDs were ‘front IR’ and ‘rear telephoto’. The IR ID can indicate that the new upcoming device by Google will feature a third front camera along with a regular wide-angle front camera. This feature will be used for face recognition on the smartphone.

The second ID indicates that the secondary rear camera will feature a telephoto lens instead of a wide-angle lens. The new telephoto lens will be helpful in capturing better quality zoom picture and portrait shots.

Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL is expected to be launched globally, as well as in India, in either October or in early November. Apart from the dual rear-cameras, the Pixel 4 is also expected to feature an OLED screen, will come with up to 6GB RA and 64GB storage. The device will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor.

Steve Jobs could ‘cast spells’ to keep employees motivated: Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and Apple co-founder Steve Jobs always shared a love-hate relationship. Some say that they never really got along too well. The world saw them being cautious allies working together and then as bitter rivals who weren’t subtle when it came to taking jabs at each other. But then, there were times when they seemed almost friendly. No one has been able to put a single word to describe what they shared.

Years after Jobs’ demise, Microsoft‘s Bill Gates has spoken about his leadership style. Gates reportedly said that the Apple co-founder was a master when it came to “casting spells” to keep employees motivated and working for long hours. But then, he has also added that Jobs’ was also an example of “don’t do this at home”, according to the report.

Speaking to Fareed Zakaria on CNN in an interview, he said, “I was like a minor wizard because he would be casting spells, and I would see people mesmerized, but because I’m a minor wizard, the spells don’t work on me.”

Gates also said, “I am yet to meet any person who in terms of picking talent, hyper-motivating that talent. He brought some incredibly positive things along with that toughness.”

Steve jobs 2

After Jobs’ death in 2011, Tim Cook took over the company as the CEO and under his leadership, the Cupertino-based technology giant has become a $1 trillion company. We should mention that it was the first ever company to cross that mark.

After Jobs’ death, Gates was quoted saying, “I respect Steve, we got to work together. We spurred each other on, even as competitors. None of [what he said] bothers me at all.”

Microsoft and Apple worked together in the latter’s initial years. Gates even flew down to Cupertino time and again to see what Apple was up to. The two companies worked together on the Macintosh computer and it was only in 1985 when the first version of Windows was announced that the two companies fell apart. Jobs claimed that Microsoft had ripped off the Macintosh. However, Microsoft’s Bill Gates did not agree. He famously said, “Well, Steve, I think there’s more than one way of looking at it. I think it’s more like we both had this rich neighbour named Xerox and I broke into his house to steal the TV set and found out that you had already stolen it.”

This was when their cordial relationship turned into the love-hate filled one that we know today.

It is speculated that this year, Samsung will be launching two Galaxy Note 10 models instead of following its annual routine of unveiling only one. Similar to the Galaxy S10 smartphones that were launched this year, Samsung Galaxy Note 10 will feature punch-hole selfie camera on its screen. Leaks and reports about Samsung Galaxy Note 10 have been pouring in months before the launch of the handset.

And now, some detailed images of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note+ handsets have been shared by tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore on his Twitter account. In the latest leaks, the images of the new Samsung smartphones look almost identical and the only thing that makes them different is the back panels of the devices. It can be seen in the images that the Galaxy Note 10 has an LED flashlight placed next to the triple lens camera setup whereas the Galaxy Note 10+ sports a Time of Flight (ToF) sensor along with one more sensor placed next to its LED flash.

It is also being expected that the Galaxy Note 10+ variant will come with a bigger display screen. As we mentioned earlier, the company has always launched the smartphone in the market in a single variant. It will be the first time that Samsung will be launching the Galaxy Note 10 devices in two different dimensions with similar specifications.

To attract buyers, other companies such as Apple and Google have also been launching their devices in differently sized variants. Samsung has also been doing it with its Galaxy S series. In fact, both Samsung and Apple have seen excellent results with this strategy because not everyone likes big-screen devices. According to the past leaks that surfaced online, the Galaxy Note 10 model will not feature a Time of Flight sensor. The leaks showed that the upper variant that is Galaxy Note 10+ will be equipped with ToF sensor on its rear panel. The images that have been shared now on Twitter confirm this.

We should also mention that the company may also relaunch its Galaxy Fold and announce the availability of its Galaxy Home speakers that was unveiled last year along with Galaxy Note 9.

AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT, Radeon RX 5700 are now available in India

AMD had launched its Radeon RX 5700 XT and Radeon RX 5700 graphics cards based on the new RDNA architecture some time back. The new GPUs have now gone on sale everywhere in the world including India. It is worth mentioning that both the models are available at a cost that is lesser than what AMD announced earlier. AMD has said that it is offering a discount in response to Nvidia’s GeForce RTX Super series GPU lineup that was launched a few days back.

While AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT is now officially priced at Rs 30,990, (approximately Rs 36,570 with tax), the Radeon RX 5700 is available at Rs 26,990 (approximately Rs 31,850 with tax). Originally, the cost of the two models was Rs 34,990 and Rs 29,990 respectively. We should mention that this price cut reflects a $50 drop across the line internationally.

The company has not launched its Radeon RX 5700 XT Anniversary Edition, that is available at a higher price, in India. The two models that are now available have been positioned below the Radeon VII. Besides this, AMD has also launched its Ryzen 3000 series CPUs and APUs that come with 7nm manufacturing processes.

Speaking about the cards going on sale, the company said, “AMD is focused on providing gamers with amazing experiences and access to the very best gaming technology at attractive price points. As you have seen, competition is heating up in the GPU market. We embrace competition, which drives innovation to the benefit of gamers. In that spirit, we are updating the pricing of our new Radeon RX 5700 Series graphics cards (available on July 7).”

It is worth pointing out that the new Radeon RX 5700 and Radeon 5700 GPUs are based on AMD’s new RDNA graphics architecture that has been codenamed as ‘Navi’. As we mentioned earlier, the two new offerings come with a new 7nm manufacturing process that is said to raise the performance of the device even while running more power.

They also have support for the PCI 4.0 interface that is compatible with Ryzen 3000-series CPUs on a motherboard that is based on an X570 chipset.

AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT

We should also mention that the new Radeon RX 5700 XT and Radeon RX 5700 GPUs come with 36 and 40 compute units respectively. While the former comes with up to 9.75Tflops of graphics bandwidth, the latter offers 7.95Tflops.

The lower-end model has a 1465MHz base clock and 1625MHz ‘game clock’, while the high-end variant comes with a 1605MHz base clock and a 1755MHz ‘game clock’. The game clock is expected to offer sustained boost speed while the device is under heavy load. The new GPUs also have the ability to boost themselves up to 1725MHz and 1905MHz respectively.

Apple’s Face ID and Touch ID to let you login to iCloud: Report

Cupertino-based technology giant Apple is reportedly testing a new way for users to log into its iCloud service with the next version of its operating systems. According to a report that has recently surfaced online, the users who have the beta version of iOS 13, iPadOS 13 and macOS Catalina have the option of logging in to their iCloud accounts using Apple’s Face ID or Touch ID on their devices.

The report, which first surfaced on 9to5Mac says that beta users who now go to beta.icloud.com on their devices see a pop-up that asks them if they would like to use either of these systems. They can log-in using either of the two without having to go through two-factor authentication. This looks like a convenient and a logical step for the technology giant, especially considering that users can unlock their devices and make their purchase via Apple Pay using Face ID or Touch ID too.

9to5Mac also says that the feature can be a part of the company’s ‘Sign in with Apple’ tool that it showcased at WWDC 2019. For those unaware, Apple has rolled out the button for websites across the internet that require users to login using Facebook or Google. Going forward, users will be able to sign-in using the Apple login as well and needless to say, the company has spoken about how its own system values privacy and security the most. Apple Face ID and Touch ID tools have been touted to be trustworthy tools.

We should mention that since iCloud suffered a major breach a few years back, adding these systems to it seems like a sensible step to make it more secure.

A report had emerged a few days back that claimed that Apple has told its developers to place its ‘Sign-in with Apple’ button above the Facebook and Google login buttons on any website or service that requires it on its platform. This shows how serious Apple is about getting users to accept it as a mainstream way of signing in. It may be a good option for those who value privacy as the company said at WWDC 2019 that the button will share a minimum of personal data with third-parties.

On the other hand, Facebook and Google’s buttons not only help you sign-in but also link you to a broader advertising profile. Apple’s system would not even share your email. Instead, it will create a new email for the apps and whenever a service sends a message to this account, it will be forwarded to your inbox.

The new system will be available across the web as well as various apps on Apple’s platform.

Google Chrome is all set to get a ‘Play’ button

2

Technology giant Google has been busy adding new features to its various services in order to make them more useful for the users. A report has surfaced online that claims that the company has started testing a Play/Pause button on itsGoogle Chrome toolbar.  As the name suggests, the new feature will allow the users to either play or pause multimedia content in the browser, regardless of the tab they are running in.

Google is reportedly calling the upcoming feature as ‘Global Media Controls (GMC)’. The new feature is being tested on Chrome’s development browser – Chrome Canary. While being tested, the new feature button appears on the right side of the URL field. There, it will highlight a pop-up that will show what video or music is being played on the other tab. The user can slide down the pop-up from the button and stop or resume the video or music being played.

According to ZDNet’s tests, the new feature button will permit the user to pause or resume a video that is being played on a different window simultaneously. The buttons will be able to play/pause audio and video content across various tabs of Chrome.

The new Global Media control button will reportedly come to Chrome’s desktop version for Windows, Mac, and Linux. Till now, the company has not announced that when the new GMC button will be accessible to Chrome OS.

Presently, a bug reportedly makes the feature crash whenever a user attempts to pause or resume a video. So as of now, Chrome engineers are working on improving the new feature and it is expected to start working efficiently in the upcoming versions.

Till now, the company has not provided an estimated time of arrival of the new feature on Chrome. But it is possible for the users to track the progress of the upcoming feature through a Chrome bug Tracker.

We should mention that Google last year removed the mute feature from its service. So, although the company has said that this feature was not requested by anyone, it is likely to be appreciated by many.

It is worth pointing out that as of now, users can mute the audio or video by right-clicking the playing tab. Earlier, there was a speaker feature for tabs that enabled this functionality. The users are highly requesting the technology company to re-enable the mute feature because it makes a bit easier and quicker to pause audio or video from the tabs itself.

10 simple steps you can take to limit smartphone radiation exposure

Radiation that emits from smartphones poses a serious threat to our health. What makes it even worse is the fact that most handsets come with radiation levels that are dangerously high. While we have already spoken about devices that emit the most amount of radiation, here, we have listed down some simple steps you can take to limit smartphone radiation exposure. Take a look:

Look out for smartphones with lowest possible SAR value

smartphones with lowest possible SAR value to buy

When we go to buy a new smartphone, we consider a number of things. Whether or not it has a good camera or a gaming performance, or if houses a good battery. One thing we often miss out on is the SAR value of the smartphone. But then, it is one of the most important things that need to be checked before buying a handset as it shows how much radiation a smartphone emits. Different countries have different values of SAR that they consider to be acceptable. The United States and India any value higher than 1.6 watts per kilogram to be dangerous, the European Union allows up to 2 watts per kilogram of SAR level. You can check out our list of smartphones that emit the least radiation here.

Access the internet using Wi-Fi only

wi-fi

Try not to access the internet on your smartphone when it is not connected to the Wi-Fi. While this may sound impossible considering how dependent we are on our smartphones, it can be done to be safe. The reason for this is that Wi-Fi networks usually have lower transmission power as compared to mobile communication standards like UMTS, GSM or LTE.

Your phone shouldn’t be connected to the internet when you are on a call

internet smartphones

Most of us want to keep receiving notifications even when we are talking to someone using our smartphone. However, the settings of our smartphone ideally should not allow this. In order to keep personal radiation exposure low, one must switch off background data traffic on their smartphones. You would receive the notifications anyway once you disconnect from the call, so there isn’t much that you are losing out on.

Keep note of the minimum isolation distance

minimum isolation distance

This is something all of us should do since we literally are inseparable from our smartphones. We must check the minimum isolation distance that is given by the manufacturer of our handset and make sure that we maintain that kind of distance from the device. In addition to this, it is always better to carry the smartphone in a bag rather than in pockets to reduce direct contact.

Avoid use when the signal is low

smartphone radiation 2

This is extremely important. Try not using your smartphone to make calls when the signal is low or if you are travelling at a high speed via a car or a train. In such cases, the device needs to increase its transmitting power in order to connect to the nearest cell tower. This results in more radiation emitting from your smartphone.

Beware of shielding products

Beware of shielding products

There are various products that claim to “shield” cell phone emissions. Avoid using any of them as they usually interfere with the smartphone’s signal and this may lead it to draw even more power and can cause it to emit even more radiation. This happens because the device has to work harder to get signals.

Use a Bluetooth headset whenever possible

zebronics-bluetooth-headset

One of the most obvious and simple things that you can do is to not to use your smartphone directly. If you start using a headset that can be connected to your device via Bluetooth for making calls, you’ll be at a safe distance from your smartphone at all times. This will ensure that your direct contact with the device is far lesser than what it is otherwise. Remember that you are the most exposed to radiation when your smartphone is directly placed against your head.

Text more, talk less

test more talk less

One of the best things that millennials do is text instead of call. If you haven’t adapted to that culture already, just do that already. It lets you communicate using your smartphone without placing it on your ear, so you are safe and at the same time, you are not missing out on any conversation.

Use your device with Bluetooth speaker

Sound One Drum speaker

If texting is not your thing and you don’t like the idea of using a headset, buy yourself a Bluetooth speaker. When you are at home, you can connect your smartphone to it and talk using the speaker. It is a clever way of using your smartphone without being in contact with it.

Say yes to Airplane mode

smartphone radiation

Whenever your smartphone is not in use, make sure you enable the Airplane Mode on it. If you cannot do that any have to keep it on even at night, then at least keep it at a distance from your head or body. The handset continued to emit radiation even when it is not being used to make calls.

Xiaomi’s Mi CC9e to launch as Mi A3 globally: Report

Recently, some leaks of the Xiaomi Mi A3 surfaced on the internet. A Xiaomi device with model number M1906F9SH on the FCC. While the company has not confirmed if its upcoming smartphone, the Android One handset is assumed to be Mi A3.

We should point out that the model number that is mentioned on the documents submitted to the FCC notably matches with the model number of the Mi CC9e handset. The Mi CC 9e was launched by the company in its home market earlier this week. Now, it is being speculated that the company is going to launch the Mi CC9e device with a new name of Mi A3 in other parts of the world.

As per the schematic that surfaced on FCC, the device is rumoured to come with a similar design as that of the recently released Mi CC9e. The leaked images show that the rebranded device has an Android One logo on its back panel. Apart from that it clearly shows that the handset will be offering both dual and single SIM options. According to the image, the upcoming smartphone will sports a 48MP primary camera that will have support for Artificial Intelligence (AI) features.

As per the FCC listing, the Xiaomi Mi A3 also reveals the dimensions are also very similar to the dimensions of Mi CC9e. The device measures 153mm in height and 71mm in width.

We should also mention that even before the launch of Mi CC9e, the images of the device leaked via TENAA listing that has a model number M1906F9SC. Now, the Mi A3 model number is M1906F9SH that is somewhat is similar to the Mi CC9e model number.

The images of the devices on Weibo depict codename”laurel_sprout.”. A report in XDA Developers explains that usually, the Android One devices feature a suffix of _sprout. This again points towards the possibility that Xiaomi A3 will be the rebranded version of Mi CC9e. The Chinese smartphone maker has not yet confirmed anything about the upcoming device. But in the past, the company has launched its various handsets as Mi A-series Android One handsets. Previously, the Chinese company had launched its Mi 5X in the market by renaming it as Mi A1 in 2017.

In the same way last year the company launched Mi 6X as Mi A2 in the global market. So we cannot entirely rule out the possibility of Mi CC9e being Mi A3. Xiaomi hasn’t yet confirmed any development officially.

5 popular Indian startups that have gone global

The Indian startup industry has seen a tremendous boom in the last few years. While some startups have become unicorns, others have attracted major foreign investors. Amid all this, a handful of Indian startups have actually gone a step ahead and opened operations in other parts of the world. Here, we have listed down five popular Indian startups that went global. Take a look:

In This Article

Ola

ola taxi business london

The first one on our list is India’s answer to Uber. For many years now, Ola and Uber have had a fierce rivalry with each other in India. This competition just got fiercer when Ola opened its operations in Australia in January last year. The Indian startup had announced that it will initially begin with its operations in three Australian cities, but soon that grew to other parts of the country. After that, Ola took its operations to New Zealand too and recently, it got the approval to take its fleet to London as well.

Zomato

Zomato is truly a game changer. It completely simplified the way we find good places to eat and order food. The app became such a favoured way of doing so that it went international in 2012 – just four years after it was founded by Deepinder Goyal and Pankaj Chaddah. The first country to get its services outside India was Dubai. Currently, Zomato has its operations in 23 countries including Australia, the United States, Prague, Istanbul, Cape Town and more.

Oyo

OYO Store on launched Airtel Thanks app

Oyo is India’s answer to Airbnb. The company is not only successful in India, but it also has its operations in over 800 cities across 24 countries including the UK, the US, Japan, China, Malaysia, Nepal, UAE, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia and the Philippines. Much like Airbnb, the Indian startup helps users book hotels, homes and spaces.

Practo

If Zomato changed the way we order food and look for restaurants, Practo changed the way we looked for doctors and booked appointments with them. Founded by Abhinav Lal and Shashank ND in 2008, Practo has its operations running in six countries. Besides gaining popularity in India, the startup is also connecting people to doctors in Singapore, Brazil, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines.

Paytm

Paytm Payments Bank

Payments platform Paytm saw a great surge in its popularity after demonization was announced. It became one of the most acceptable ways of making payments and paying bills back then and continues to enjoy its popularity among Indians. Besides India, the Indian startup has its operations in Canada too. The company launched its app in Canada in 2017.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 is expected to sport a 64MP camera

Xiaomi’s next rumoured flagship smartphone is expected to be unveiled at the end of 2109. The upcoming Mi Mix 4 handset will reportedly to come with 64MP primary camera sensor. The company is working on the device to launch it with some impressive design and features.

The company launched the Mi Mix 3 5G last year at the MWC with a full-screen OLED display. The device was powered by Snapdragon 855 chipset and featured 12MP+12MP dual camera setup. Now, the company is going to launch its successor – Mi Mix 4 – at the end of 2019. As we mentioned earlier, the handset is speculated to come with a 64MP primary camera or even better than that.

According to the deleted Weibo post by Wang Teng Thomas, Product Director at the mobile manufacturing company Xiaomi, the Mi Mix 4 will be offering a camera that will be “better than” the 64MP Samsung GW1 sensor.

This more or less confirms the news. This time, the company is expected to add a 64MP camera that will be manufactured by some other smartphone maker. Xiaomi may even have plans to equip the device with a higher megapixel camera. Till now, Samsung’s 64MP ISOCELL sensor is the one with the highest resolution in the market. Some rumours suggest that Sony, another firm that manufactures lenses, will be launching its 64MP sensor this year. So, it can be likely that Xiaomi uses Sony’s sensor in its upcoming Mi Mix 4 smartphone.

The Weibo post is a very clear indication of the fact that while Xiaomi will be launching a smartphone with 64MP camera, it is highly unlikely that it will be using a lens from Samsung. Similar to other high megapixel sensors, the 64MP GW1 also uses pixel binning that offers brighter and sharper images.

According to previous rumours about the upcoming flagship smartphone by Xiaomi, the Mi Mix 4 is expected to be launched with IP68 certification for dust and water resistance. If this happens we are very sure that the handset will not be featuring a pop-up selfie camera or innovative slider system just like Mi Mix 3 5G.

The Mi Mix 4 is rumoured to be powered by the Snapdragon 855 chipsets that is expected to be paired with a Snapdragon X50 5G modem to offer 5G connectivity on the smartphone, much like Mi Mix 3 5G.

‘Game of Thrones: Beyond The Wall’ mobile game is coming this year, pre-registrations open

0

The final season of Game of Thrones failed to impress fans, but this hasn’t made HBO give up on the series yet. HBO has announced that it has partnered with GAEA and Behaviour Interactive to launch a Game of Thrones mobile game. Dubbed ‘Game of Thrones: Beyond The Wall’, the game will be available for Android and iOS and will start rolling out later this year.

We should mention that the plot of Game of Thrones: Beyond The Wall is set decades before the timeline of the events that were shown in the series. The game will depict the time when Lord Commander Bryden Rivers, who is also known as Bloodraven went beyond the wall and never came back. If you cannot recall who Bloodraven is, he is the character who was the host to the three-eyed raven before Bran Stark.

In this RPG story-driven game, you can become the Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch and get your favourite characters with you. Each one of them will come with different abilities that will help you win battles.

Besides this, the Game of Thrones mobile game will give you the option of exploring the past, present and future of iconic characters from the TV show like Jon Snow, Jaime Lannister, Arya Stark and others.

As we mentioned earlier, ‘Game of Thrones: Beyond The Wall’ will be rolled out to users at the end of 2019. It will be available on Google‘s Play Store as well as Apple’s App Store and it is being speculated that some in-app purchases would be present in the game.

If you are already excited about the game, we should mention that you can pre-register for Game of Thrones: Beyond The Wall now. Those who pre-register will win special rewards.

It has been over a month since the final season of Game of Thrones ended. As we pointed it out earlier, Game of Thrones Season 8 was not received very well by the audience and fans. In fact, right after the show ended, an online petition was put up on Charge.org to remake the show “with competent writers”. Till now, the petition has been signed by over 1.6 million people.

The petition page on Charge.org says, “David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e. the books) to fall back on. This series deserves a final season that makes sense. Subvert my expectations and make it happen, HBO!”

The petition is obviously a way for fans to show that they aren’t happy with the way the final season was shown. However, considering that Game of Thrones is one of the most expensive shows ever made, HBO is not likely to take this seriously.

Apple to launch a foldable, 5G-enabled iPad in 2020: Report

Cupertino based technology giant Apple is reportedly working on a new iPad that comes with 5G connectivity and a foldable display. The report further adds that the company could launch the foldable 5G iPad as early as 2020, which is also the year when it is expected unveil its 5G-enabled iPhone and its first foldable smartphone.

The report comes from a London-based information provider Jeff Lin, who is an analyst at IHS Markit. He claims that Apple has quietly been working on a foldable 5G iPad, according to a report in 9to5Mac.

According to 9to5Mac, “The product would apparently feature MacBook sized screens, which isn’t too much of a stretch given that the iPad Pro already tops out in a 12.9-inch size. However, it is easy to imagine how an iPad mini-sized product that could unfold to 13 or 15-inch screen would be compelling.”

In addition to this, the analyst has also said that the foldable iPad would also come with support for 5G cellular radios that will enable fast mobile internet browsing.

We should mention that as of now, the company does not have any devices in its lineup that supports 5G connectivity. This year, Apple is expected to launch three iPhone models.

While Apple has still not launched its 5G device, a number of its competitors like Samsung have already announced their 5G offerings. But then, Apple has never really committed to being the first in the industry. Instead, it has mostly first seen how people react to certain new technology and then launches its own offering. The strategy seems to work for the Cupertino-based technology company too.

Another reason for the delay was the company’s legal battle with Qualcomm. Since it is the only chipmaker that is providing 5G-enabled chipsets till now, Apple could not opt for it without paying the amount it owned as a part of the legal case over copyright infringements. It did try to get Intel and MediaTek make 5G chipsets for it, but then, that didn’t work out the way Apple had intended.

Now that Apple and Qualcomm have agreed to a settlement, the company is free to have a fresh contract with the chipmaker and hence, it will be able to procure 5G chipsets from the company soon. So, Apple fans and loyalists may not have to wait for too long before they get to use 5G-enabled iPhones and iPads and this latest report about the foldable 5G iPad may be true.

Microsoft Outlook for web is getting redesigned

0

Last year, Microsoft had announced an opt-in experience so that the users could try the new Outlook on the web. The main purpose behind this was to get users’ feedback that will help the company to reshape the Outlook app.

Now, after months of getting this feedback and improving its service, Microsoft has finally announced the new Outlook app for the web. We should mention that the revamped Outlook has some features that were already present on Gmail.

The company has promised to deliver experienced, fun and faster experience for its users and let them personalize their emails with new updates. Outlook now enables users to add multiple categories to a message and use Search to make it easy to identify their email from the list. In addition to this, the new Outlook allows the users to use dark mode on their Inbox.

It now also allows the users to send emojis and GIFs to contacts from within the service and permits the users to mark a contact, group, or category as their favourite for easier access. These favourites will also get synced to Outlook for Mobile.

Outlook has also included a tab for the users at the bottom of the reading panel so that they can read as many emails as required by switching between them and the easily go back to the one that they were writing.

Recently, the company had announced new features in Outlook to help the users to save time with intelligent technology. These features help users stay organized by helping them organize meetings, future events, and other things.

Outlook has even added the ability for its users to filter to adjust which calendar they want to search. They can also add a timeframe that they would like to search across multiple calendars.

The new Outlook has also made it easier to create meetings. Using the calendar, the user can quickly compose and invite people, find a room, and even get suggested times for when everyone is available.

Outlook now allows users to snooze an email for a more convenient time. When they snooze an email, it disappears from their inbox and then re-appears as an unread message at the top of their inbox on the time and date they chose.

With the new Outlook, it’s also easier to keep track of all the events that you have during the entire month in order to plan things better.

Online meetings get more options as well. So, besides creating meetings, users can now also easily join an online meeting, and quickly check how many people are attending the meeting.
