When launched, Microsoft’s web browser was called Internet Explorer and later, it got renamed to Edge. In a recent development, Microsoft is moving its Edge web browser to the Chromium Engine which is Google’s open-source web browser project. With Microsoft Edge browser moving to the Chromium Engine, we can expect to see an improved web compatibility and a faster response time. And this will also make the other Google services work well in the new browser as well as enhance its stability.
Recently, the beta testers of the service found that Google Meet, which is the company’s enterprise messaging application/service has stopped working on the Edge.
Earlier this week, when users tried opening Google Meet, they found out that a prompt opened up to download Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. This could be the reason why other Google’s services wouldn’t work well in Microsoft’s Edge.
A Google’s spokesperson said to The Verge, “We view the increased adoption of Chromium and WebRTC as positive for the entire Unified Communications industry. With the recent release of developer previews for Edge, we are thrilled to be able to offer a new preview experience of Hangouts Meet, and we plan to officially support it once it becomes generally available.”
Google’s statement proves that Google Meet will be able to work properly in the Edge browser once it becomes available to all. It should be noted that Microsoft Edge’s newest version worked well with the other Google services and Google Meet, but after the switch to Chromium, the problems started arising. It means that the new Chromium engine isn’t working as well with the Edge as it was thought before.
In another recent update, Chrome has brought the much-awaited ‘dark mode’ to its browsers. The new Chrome 74 comes with many changes over its predecessor along with bug fixes. But the main, most noticeable change is the addition of the new dark mode to the browser. Google is working well on improving its web browser to improve the user’s internet usage. The new Chrome 74 update is currently out for Windows, Linux, macOS. But it is also being released as a beta version for Android and iOS as well. The users can download the update from Chrome itself or Chrome’s official website.
Google’s Play Store offers millions of applications, games, books and more to scores of Android smartphone users across the globe. It is considered to be the safest way for Android users to discover and download apps. While the Play Store holds many new and important applications, it also is flooded with faulty, shady and harmful applications. And now, it has been reported that Google is banning a popular Chinese developer from its Play Store and is also removing dozens of applications made by the developer.
A report has surfaced on Buzzfeed which that the developer was committing ad frauds and was misusing the user permissions after being installed on the device. It was also discovered by the security researchers that the Chinese developer was committing a fraud which was later banned by Google. Dubbed DO Global, the developer is partly owned by Baidu and was found guilty of producing fake ad clicks to generate revenue. This is not the first application or developer to do so as there are many similar applications who use this practise.
Although Google itself didn’t officially confirm its banning of DO Global but according to the Buzzfeed report, the news holds accuracy. Moreover, the security researchers found at least 6 applications which kept running in the background even when the user closed the application. Earlier, DO Global had around 100 applications on the Google Play Store, but now 46 of them have been banned. Most of the applications were listed under other developer names as well such as ‘Pic Tools Group’.
In a statement given to the Verge, Google said, “We take our responsibility to protect users and advertisers seriously, and invest in tools and resources to fight fraud and abuse globally. We actively investigate malicious behavior, and when we find violations, we take action, including the removal of a developer’s ability to monetize their app with AdMob or publish on Play.”
While Check Point, in its research wrote, “In a world where ad revenue can produce a very high income, it’s not surprising why malicious actors are after fraudulent activities against ad agencies. ‘Follow the money’ is a good rule of thumb while investigating a malicious campaign.”
Earlier, Google had to remove more than 60 games from its Play Store after Check Point’s report that they contained malicious bugs and displayed porn ads. And most of these games were aimed at children which makes them even more harmful and wrong. With the rise of smartphones and internet, to stop such practises the technology companies need to improve their rules and regulations.
Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus will be seen launching its new flagship smartphones – OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7 – on May 14. And till now, the launch of OnePlus 7 Pro and the OnePlus 7 has been confirmed along with another variant of the device. Before their official launch, OnePlus is doing all it can to create the hype about its upcoming smartphones. The company has taken to Twitter to tease that its OnePlus 7 Pro will be sporting a triple-rear camera setup. The company has shared a video which shows the outline of the OnePlus 7 Pro smartphone with a triple rear camera setup.
OnePlus’s tweet read, “Bells and whistles make noise,” and then it said “We make phones.” The company has also used the hashtag # OnePlus7Pro. It could mean that the triple rear camera of the upcoming smartphone could be limited just to the premium variant of the OnePlus 7 series – OnePlus 7 Pro.
OnePlus 7 Pro has previously been in news because it is rumoured to sport an upgraded display with a refresh rate of 90Hz. Even the launch invite of the OnePlus has the screen in it which confirms that the display of the OnePlus 7 Pro will be its main focus. But more details about the upcoming OnePlus 7 Pro will be revealed on its scheduled launch date on May 14.
Speaking about the cameras, it is reported that the OnePlus 7 Pro’s triple rear camera setup will feature a standard lens paired with a telephoto lens along with an ultra-wide lens. This camera setup has already been used in a number of 2019 smartphones launched by various other companies. But there is also a possibility that the company may put a depth sensor in the setup.
Also, we could see a new and fresh approach towards the camera by the company and expect something different from what it did with OnePlus 6 and the OnePlus 6T. The cameras of the OnePlus devices weren’t the smartphones’ best feature. Even though OnePlus had made certain software improvements for its earlier devices but it still couldn’t reach the level of the best camera smartphone of the market – Google Pixel 3.
With so many improvements there is a possibility that the company might increase its price this time and make it more expensive than earlier OnePlus models. And if that happens, its ‘flagship killer’ title might be in danger as the price leaks of OnePlus 7 and its variants suggests that the device is creeping dangerously close to the ‘other’ flagship smartphone prices.
PUBG Mobile’s latest update gets the much-awaited Darkest Night mode, which makes that game as tough as it possibly can get. If you are having trouble with that mode in PUBG Mobile, then here are some locations and tips that you should know about to be the last standing man:
In This Article
Head to water-city houses
If you go to a house in water-city, you will be able to find a room that has a box in to. Jump on to the box so that you can sit on it and shoot zombies. It would be difficult for zombies in PUBG to climb and you will get an advantage. You can also pick ammo from this location.
Hide under the stairs of the Church
This will only work if you are alone. The staircase of the Church will stop the zombies from reaching you and at the same time, you will manage to get some easy kills. The zombies in PUBG Mobile may even get up on the staircase to wait to attack you while you are actually hiding under it. But nevertheless, this location is completely safe provided you stay still and don’t move much.
Use windows in multi-story houses
Often, you will come across windows of multi-story buildings with wooden planks and plates outside. You can jump outside to stand on these wooden planks and then attack zombies. This place will give you an advantage as toxic gases would not affect you and zombies would not be able to jump outside without getting killed by you.
RPD House
The first thing that you should do when you enter the RPD House is to look for a gun. However, even if you don’t have one, just run along until you reach a higher floor. Locate a pillar close to the container and then jump from the railing on to it. Zombies would not be able to harm you here. And in case you have a gun, you can get a lot of easy kills sitting up here.
Make use of the boxes kept in RPD to keep yourself safe
The next location is also in RPD House. You would be able to locate a few boxes that are kept very close to the wall. They will be kept on top of the other. You can climb on the one kept on the bottom and stand on it leaning against the one kept on the top. Zombies would not come even close to you if you stay here. But then, you should be careful here as you may get stuck.
Go to the green factory
In the green factory, climb up the stairs, jump on the railing and then run along the wall boundaries to hide behind containers. Here, you can hide behind them to shoot the zombies and you would be safe from them.
Shoot from the box in the green factory
A wooden box is kept in the corner of the green factory. You can climb on top of it and literally be there till dawn. This position will allow you to make easy kills.
Survive the night in teams
Avoid killing other players at night. Instead, team up and focus on the zombies. Once you survive the night, you can kill other players to be the last standing man.
Keep the zombie vaccine handy
A lot of players underestimate this. But considering that zombies and zombie dogs are literally present everywhere in PUBG now, the zombie vaccine can prove to be a literal life-saver.
Use vehicles to your advantage
When dealing with zombies, you can use a vehicle to block the entrance of a building so that they cannot enter. This will give you a safe place from where you can kill them all.
Looks like Xiaomi has some big plans for the Indian smartphone market. This week the company released its selfie-centric smartphone, Redmi Y3 along with a budget handset Redmi 7. Last month, the Chinese smartphone company launched its Redmi Note 7 Pro along with the Redmi Note 7. And now, Xiaomi may be planning to launch new smartphones in the country powered by new Snapdragon CPUs.
The Global Vice President and Managing Director of Xiaomi India, Manu Kumar Jain has revealed that the company is planning to launch new smartphones in India. In his tweet, he wrote that the new Xiaomi smartphones will be powered by the Snapdragon processor that was announced ‘just two weeks ago.’ We should mention that Qualcomm had launched three new Snapdragon chipsets recently – the Snapdragon 665, the Snapdragon 730 and the Snapdragon 730G. So, if we take Jain’s statement into consideration we can expect a Xiaomi device powered by any one of these three newly launched chipsets.
Jain also highlighted through a tweet about his meeting with Qualcomm’s India President Rajen Vagadia and Vice President of Product Management Kedar Kondap. In his tweet, he wrote that a new Xiaomi smartphone with the latest Snapdragon 7xx “is coming to India very soon.” Although Jain didn’t reveal anything further like the name or any teaser of the device.
And out of all three new Snapdragon CPUs, only two seem to fit Jain’s tweet – the Snapdragon 730 and the Snapdragon 730G.
It should also be noted that the South Korean technology giant Samsung earlier had launched its new Galaxy A80 smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 730G SoC. Samsung Galaxy A80 is a gaming-centric smartphone and it is yet to be launched in the Indian market. And if Xiaomi has decided to go the same route, it may be planning to compete with higher-end smartphones from Samsung Galaxy A series.
If we talk about the devices which could see the light of the day this time, we can expect the launch of Mi A3. The A3 would most probably be a successor to last year’s Mi A2 which was a mid-range smartphone from Xiaomi. Also, the latest MIUI 10 code in January had hinted us that Google’s Android One could be the platform running in the Mi A3. Other than the Mi A3, the company might also launch the Mi A3 Lite which would be a cheaper and a watered-down version of the main smartphone.
Avengers: Endgame one movie that all Marvel fans have been looking forward too. But today, their wait was finally over as the film has finally hit the cinemas in India. And technology giant Google also did its bit to keep up the excitement of their fans. Google has added an interesting Easter egg related to Thanos to its search.
The Easter egg is the latest among many that Google has put up on its platform lately, and this one directly creates excitement for the new movie. To see Google’s surprise for Marvel fans, just go to Google Search and type ‘Thanos’. Among the results, you will see an illustrated gauntlet, and if you are a Marvel fan, you would realise that this is basically the glove-like artefact that the series’ villain Thanos uses in Avengers: Infinity War to use the power of all the Infinity Stones at once.
If you click on the gauntlet, the Easter egg will be activated. The fingers of the gauntlet will snap and then various search results of the page will start disappearing. They would vaporise exactly as the people and superheroes did in Avengers: Infinity Wars.
Google will then show you that the number of search results has reduced exactly by half. This is another thing that completely relates to what happened in the previous movie by Marvel. It is also the theme that primarily dominates the plot of Avengers: Endgame.
Interestingly, if you click on the gauntlet one more time, it leads to a new animation. The Time Stone on the animation reverses the flow of time and all the search results that disappeared earlier get restored.
Avengers: Endgame has now been released in India and the film has managed to break all records for advance ticket bookings in the country. The movie’s star cast includes Chris Evans as Steve Rogers (Captain America), Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark (Iron Man) and Chris Hemsworth as Thor. The role of Thanos is played by Josh Brolin.
It is worth adding that Google is not the only technology company which is doing its bit to keep up the excitement for the film. Chinese smartphone brand Oppo partnered with Marvel to launch an Avengers Edition of its F11 Pro handset. While the specifications of the device are the same as the regular variant of Oppo F11 Pro, the special edition smartphone comes with a new Avengers-inspired design.
Chinese smartphone brand Oppo launched its Oppo A7 smartphone in November 2018, and the handset has received a price cut for the second time already. Just a month ago, the same smartphone received a price cut on both the variants of the handset.
The Oppo A7 comes with a waterdrop-styled notched display, dual-rear cameras and a big battery. While the 4GB RAM variant of the Oppo A7 was launched back in November 2018, the 3GB RAM variant of the device was launched in January 2019. Here’s a look at the revised pricing of the devices:

Oppo A7 revised price

The price cut was first reported by a Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom on Twitter and later it was confirmed by Gadgets360. When launched, the Oppo A7 with 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage cost Rs 16,990, and its price was reduced to Rs 15,990 last month. The new prices are now live on Amazon India, Flipkart, Paytm along with retailers as well.
Oppo A7 specifications
The Oppo A7 sports a 6.2-inch In-Cell HD+ (720 x 1520 pixels) display with an aspect ratio of 19:9. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC paired with Adreno 506 GPU. The A7 smartphone comes with 3GB/4GB of RAM along with 64GB of internal storage and it can support a microSD card of up to 256GB. The handset supports dual-SIM (Nano) and runs Android 8.1 Oreo skinned with ColorOS 5.2. Oppo A7 has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and it packs a 4,230mAh battery that comes without fast charging support.
On the camera front, the Oppo A7 features a dual-rear camera setup which comprises of a 13MP primary camera with an f/2.2 aperture paired with an 2MP secondary camera with an f/2.4 lens. On the front, there is a 16MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture.
Other features of the Oppo A7 include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB with OTG support, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The sensors on Oppo A7 include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, gyroscope, and a proximity sensor.
With the new price drop, the Oppo A7 has become another competitor for likes of Redmi Note 7 and Samsung Galaxy M20.
Microsoft has started rolling out the Windows 10 May 2019 Update, which is also being called as Windows 10 version 1903, slowly and steadily to its users. Along with this, the software giant has updated its minimum hardware requirements page too. It now says that in order to install the Windows 10 1903 update, minimum storage of 32GB is required. This is valid for 32-bit as well as 64-bit Windows.
It is worth mentioning that prior to this, the minimum requirement for the 32-bit Windows 10 was 16GB and for 64-bit Windows 10, one needed 20GB. These requirements were valid till Windows 10 October 2018 Update, which was also known as Windows 10 version 1809. However, there is no word on why the company has made this change.
The software giant has also said that the minimum storage requirement for 32-bit Windows and 64-bit Windows would still be 16GB and 32GB respectively, if they are a part of version 1903 and older of Windows 10 IoT Enterprise. It is also worth pointing out that the new requirement would not affect any users who have opted for storage higher than 32GB. And most users today opt for more than 32GB of storage, so actually, very few will be affected by the change.
In addition to this, there are certain conditions that have been mentioned about RAM and processor as well for users who wish to run the Windows 10 for desktop software. Microsoft has mentioned that laptops that run Windows 10 for desktop should have at least 1GB of RAM for 32-bit Windows and more than 2GB of RAM for 6-bit Windows.
Coming to the devices that run Windows 10 for desktop editions, they would require a processor that is clocked at 1GHz or more and is compatible with either x86 or x64 instruction set. The processor should also have support for PAE, NX and SSE2, CMPXCHG16b and LAHF/SAH. In addition to this, it should also support PrefetchW for 64-bit OS installation.
It is worth adding that Windows 10 May 2019 update (Windows 10 version 1903) is already available for download on Microsoft’s Media Creation Tool. However, users would still need a valid Windows 10 license to download the latest update. The software giant has also announced that it will be rolling out the May 2019 update slowly in order to collect data about potential bugs before too many people are affected by it.
Software giant Microsoft has now become the third company in the United States to cross a market capital of $1 trillion. The company today passed the milestone briefly after a jump in stock price, which followed strong fiscal Q3 earnings. Microsoft has joined Apple and Amazon in hitting the $1 trillion valuation. It is worth noticing that as of now, Google has not been able to hit this mark.
The stock price of the software giant at $130 per share today, which is around a 4% increase from the $125 closing price yesterday. While the stock price is expected to fluctuate, Microsoft has already hit the $1 trillion market within the NASDAQ day trading hours today. The company’s current valuation also goes to show that Microsoft has again taken over Cupertino-based technology giant Apple as the world’s most valuable company. This comes after Microsoft briefly passed Apple in November.
The company’s stock has gone up because of its growth in cloud. Microsoft has made a lot of efforts in pushing its cloud products in the recent years and now, the company is eyeing to catch up to Amazon’s AWS dominance. It is also worth pointing out that as of now, Azure is second behind Amazon for cloud services and it is ahead of Google’s own offerings.
The software company’s latest earnings have revealed that the three main buckets in which Microsoft has split its businesses are doing well and are more or less contributing the same amount of revenue this quarter – around 30% each. Here’s a look at the revenue break up:
Office, Dynamics and LinkedIn = $10.2 billion
Azure cloud, enterprise services and server products = $9.7 billion
Windows, Surface and Xbox = $10.7 billion
We should mention that the $1 trillion valuation is something that investors would really care about, even if Microsoft does not. Speaking on this, Chris Capossela, Microsoft’s chief marketing officer had said last year, “This is a metric that nobody on the senior leadership team is tracking. Nobody is sitting around high-fiving when the stock hits some new high.”
It is also worth adding that Cupertino based technology giant Apple was the first ever company to cross the $1 trillion mark. The smartphone company was closely followed by e-commerce giant Amazon. Both the companies crossed the $1 trillion valuation last year itself. As we mentioned earlier, Google is yet to reach the market value, but then, it’s only a matter of time.

Xiaomi Redmi recently launched its selfie-centric smartphone, the Redmi Y3 and the budget-centric device, the Redmi 7 in India. With the launch of two new smartphones Xiaomi is strengthening its Redmi sub-brand. Earlier, the General Manager of Redmi, Lu Weibing had confirmed that the company was working on a flagship Redmi smartphone which would be powered by the Snapdragon 855 SoC.
After his confirmation, there had been a number of leaks and rumours about the upcoming Redmi flagship smartphone. Although the leaks revealed some features of the device, but they didn’t reveal the main specifications about the smartphone. Now, a new leak has surfaced online that reveals some of the main specifications of the Redmi flagship device, which was a mystery till now.
According to the leaks, the Redmi flagship phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 855 SoC and will have 8GB of RAM. There will also be a triple-rear camera setup along with a 32MP selfie camera similar to the Redmi Y3.
Redmi flagship smartphone specifications (the leaked ones)
According to a tipster on the Chinese social networking platform Weibo, the next Redmi flagship device will reportedly sport a 6.39-inch Full HD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels) display. It is already a known fact that the device will be powered by the Snapdragon 855 SoC, which is the latest flagship CPU from Qualcomm.
The leaks also reveal that the Redmi flagship will have 8GB of RAM paired with 128GB of internal storage. But whether a microSD card slot will be present onboard the device is still unknown. It will most probably run on Android 9 Pie skinned with MIUI 10. Other than that, the battery capacity and fast charge support is currently unknown, too.
On the camera front, the Redmi flagship will reportedly feature a triple-rear camera setup with the main camera being a 48MP sensor paired with an 8MP secondary camera along with a 13MP tertiary camera. However, it is not clear which of these three camera sensors will have the wide-angle lens, the telephoto lens and the ultra-wide-angle lens or the depth sensor. Our guess is that the 8MP sensor will add depth to the images. And as mentioned above, the front camera will most probably be a 32MP selfie camera.
Other than the specifications mentioned above there is no word about the name or the model number of the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi flagship device or its launch data. And since the General Manager of Redmi himself has confirmed the news about the upcoming device it is clear that it will be launching in the coming weeks.

Both teams respawn when eliminated until the other side completes their objective.
On one side is the Hero team. Heroes respawn when eliminated until the enemy team has found all six Infinity Stones.
Heroes start with a treasure map that leads directly to a Mythic Avengers item.
Other Avengers items can be found in Chests throughout the map.
The goal for the Hero team is to destroy the Chitauri army and defeat Thanos.
Team Thanos is comprised of Chitauri Invaders and Thanos himself.
Chitauri Invaders start with a powerful laser rifle, an anti-structure grenade attack, and a jetpack that lets them briefly leap high into the air.
The first Chitauri to recover an Infinity stone will be transformed into Thanos.
Thanos has a powerful punch, a destructive beam attack, and the ability to jump high into the air and then smash anything in his way when he comes back down.
Each time an Infinity Stone is claimed, Thanos’ abilities grow more powerful and the Chitauri gain health.

Facebook has always been home to some of the most useful, funny and weird things, and one of them is the personality quiz apps. These apps use the information provided by the user to find out what their personality traits are and who do they closely resemble to (a popular celebrity, animal or anything else). It’s a fun way to know what the results will be as it is never certain.
But now, Facebook has decided to ban the personality quiz apps on its platforms. Since they have been active on the social platform for years, they were able to collect a lot of user information from a large number of Facebook users.
It should be noted that the ban comes a year after the infamous Cambridge Analytica scandal where the data firm had collected information of up to 87 million users around the world. For collecting the information, it used the quiz app ‘thisisyourdigitallife’.
Although the ban on the quiz apps comes a year after the scandal but it should be noted that the personality quizzes weren’t the main problem. The quizzes were, no doubt, a great platform for collecting and storing a large amount of user data. The quizzes themselves worked because of the data the users provided it with, the problem was that the platform (Facebook) itself allowed the developers to collect the data. The collected data of the user could have been used by anyone for anything and was not kept secure.
Facebook’s ban on the personality quiz apps is a part of a ‘broader crackdown’ by the social giant on what the developers have access to and what they can do on the platform. Also, on similar note, Facebook is also locking down many old APIs (Application Programming Interface) for accessing the user data. This lockdown will prevent the developers from accessing the new user data if the user hasn’t used the app in the last three months.
It should be taken into account that the social giant Facebook had announced some changes on its platform around a year ago. In that announcement, the 3 months/ 90 days access limit was also included. Although the 3 months limit was not put into effect before, but it has been done now.
But this new change and ban comes after a number of data leaks reported since the start of the year. There were a number of problems Facebook found itself in the past couple of months, which put it into a vulnerable position. And banning some old personality quizzes so that they can’t access the user data isn’t possibly going to solve anything if it doesn’t make its own platform stronger.

The launch of the Oppo F11 Pro Marvel’s Avengers Edition coincides with the release of Avengers: Endgame movie in the country. The technology company collaborated with Marvel to unveil the special edition smartphone in the country.
Although the device has a lot in common with the vanilla variant of the Oppo F11 Pro, the primary differences are in the design and the internal storage. Here’s a look at the details of the newly launched edition of the smartphone that you should know about:

Oppo F11 Pro Marvel’s Avengers Edition price in India
Oppo F11 Pro Marvel’s Avengers Edition is available with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage in India. The special edition smartphone costs Rs 27,990 and will be going on sale via Amazon India’s website. The pre-orders of the device begin today and the first sale will be on May 1. The sale will begin at online retailers on May 4.
Oppo F11 Pro Marvels’ Avengers Edition specifications
As we mentioned earlier, there are two primary differences in the Marvel’s Avengers Edition smartphone as compared to the vanilla variant of the handset. One is the design of the new smartphone and the other is the internal storage.
Oppo F11 Pro Marvel’s Avengers Limited Edition smartphone’s back panel has a glossy Blue finish and a gradient design. It sports a symmetrical hexagonal pattern on its rear panel that resembles a beehive. In addition to this, there is an Avengers logo that is Red in colour that is placed on the back panel of the Oppo F11 Pro’s special edition device. The power button is also coloured Red so that it complements the design of the handset.
Oppo F11 Pro Marvels’ Avengers Edition comes with a Captain America inspired protective case in its box. The case is Blue in colour and has Captain America’s iconic shield on it. This can also work as a phone stand holder for the smartphone.
The smartphone’s retail package has a stamped collector’s badge and a ‘Collection Certificate’. The latter is something that all Marvel fans would love to have as it has golden stickers of all the major characters like Hulk, Iron Man, and Thor to name a few.
While Oppo F11 Pro’s regular variant came with 64GB of internal storage, the Marvels’ Avengers Edition handset houses 128GB of onboard storage. Besides this, all the specifications of the special edition variant of the device are the same as the previously launched model.
To recall, Oppo F11 Pro has a 6.53-inch full-HD+ LCD display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P70 processor clubbed with 6GB of RAM. The handset runs Android 9 Pie skinned with ColorOS 6 and houses a 4,000mAh battery.
For imaging duties, Oppo F11 Pro sports a dual rear camera setup that comprises of a 48MP and 5MP sensors. The device is touted to come with an Ultra Night Mode and a Dazzle Color Mode that enhances low-light photography. The handset has a 16MP pop-up selfie camera that comes with support for Face ID technology.
Respawn Games and EA’s battle royale Apex Legends had really made a big dent in the gaming industry with its release. Even the players of the genre gave it a go to see what new was being offered and soon the game became massively popular. A week after its release, the game had more than 25 million registered players with the numbers skyrocketing as the game got older.
But now, players are complaining that the game lacks updates and it didn’t bring anything new to its content. Comparing it to the constantly changing games of the same genre such as Fortnite and PUBG, Apex Legends falls short on providing the players with updated and new content on a regular basis. And on the same note, the executive producer of the game Drew McCoy explained that it won’t be changing anytime soon. Which means that the game wouldn’t receive any new or updated content every now and then.
In a blog post, McCoy wrote, “Our long-term goal is to ensure Apex Legends always feels alive and thriving, with a focus on quality of content over novelty or speed of release. At the same time, we want to maintain our culture as a development team and avoid crunch that can quickly lead to burnout or worse.”
It should be noted that, this development comes a day after Polygon’s report about the working conditions at the Fortnite developer’s studio, Epic. Here, the artists, programmers and new contract employees have been working intensely to keep up with the ever-changing game and bringing new content to the platform.
In a statement, Epic said, “People are working very hard on Fortnite and other Epic efforts. Extreme situations such as 100-hour work weeks are incredibly rare, and in those instances, we seek to immediately remedy them to avoid recurrence.” This is the exact opposite of what we saw of Apex Legends who aren’t pushing new updates and aren’t seemingly interested in providing the players with new content.
The extreme overtime and overwork have always plagued the videogame industry. Well-known brands such as BioWare (owned by EA), Ubisoft and other game studios are constantly subjecting their employees to overtime too, which ultimately leads to crunch.
Furthermore, Respawn still hopes to continue with Apex Legends and provide updates to its players, but not in the same way and at the same time intervals as its competitors. McCoy also said that the primary focus of the studio was to improve the issues of server performance and cheating. He said, “Rapid growth is a wonderful thing to achieve, and we’re thrilled with the response we’ve received since launch. However, that growth comes with some clear challenges, and we’ve hit a few bumps along the way, including missteps with our updates, not giving players enough visibility into future content, and not properly setting expectations on how we plan to support Apex Legends.”
Are you planning to buy a new gaming console but cannot decide which one you should go for? Check out the list of 10 things that you must know before you buy your next gaming console:
In This Article
Which ecosystem is the best one?
This is probably one among the most asked questions when it comes to gaming consoles. And the answer is that you would find most new games to be available on Xbox as well as PlayStation. Sony arguably has more number of exclusive titles which includes the likes of Gran Turismo, Uncharted, Spider-Man and others. On the other hand, you would find most Xbox exclusives to be available for the Windows PC.
VR Gaming
In spite of the fact that virtual reality has been around for years now, it has not really become very mainstream. And gaming is no exception to this, as there are few who are really into VR gaming. But then, if you are one among them, then PlayStation is the only option you can go for when it comes to gaming consoles as that is the only one that has support for it. It is worth pointing out though that you will need to spend extra for the VR headset.
Nintendo Switch
While PlayStation and Xbox enjoy tremendous popularity in the gaming consoles market, Nintendo Switch is also an alternative that you can go for. However, the console is not as powerful as Xbox and PlayStation and currently, it is not officially available in India. In addition to this, the number of games on Nintendo Switch are also not at par with those on PlayStation or Xbox.
Go for the latest version
While Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 are still available for purchase in the market and cost lesser than the latest models, it is not recommended to go for them. Most developers are no longer making any games for them and the ones that are available would not run as well as they would on the latest models.
4k gaming or HD gaming?
In case you like 4K gaming, you can go for Xbox One X that is priced at Rs 40,990, or for PlayStation 4 Pro that costs Rs 38,990. However, the only thing to keep in mind is that you will have to upgrade the entire ecosystem and use a big screen 4K TV. While Xbox S does not have support for 4K gaming, it can upscale Full HD games into 4K.
Aesthetic appeal
There are a number of limited editions of Xbox One, Xbox One S and PlayStation 4 that have been launched over the year. They come with art and sounds that make them stand out. But as far as the performance goes, they are more or less the same as their regular variants. You may want to opt for one of these in case you are impressed by their design. You’ll be paying extra for the aesthetics though.
Classic games
If you like playing vintage games, you should know that Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony have them available on their online stores. Sony’s PlayStation Now also lets you stream pre-PS4 games, but for a monthly subscription fee.
Music streaming
This is not exactly mainstream as of now. If you like to have music streaming while gaming, you can go for any variation of Xbox One and PS4. In fact, Xbox owners can also access Microsoft Groove Music.
Stream your own files
Both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 have support for DLNA, which enables users to stream their own digital video files to the console from devices on their home network. Proprietary DLNA software or third-party programs like Plex can also be used to do this.
Which one is more powerful?
We would recommend you to go for Xbox One X or PS4 if you want a powerful console. While the former is powered by a 6 teraflop GPU, the latter runs 4.2 teraflop GPU. Games on these consoles run faster than they do on Xbox One S and PS4 Slim.
