Transsion group holdings group is going to launch its latest smartphone in the Indian market under its brand Infinix. The company is set to launch Infinix Smart HD 2021 on December 16 in the country. Just ahead of the official launch the pricing of the smartphone as well as its specifications have been revealed. As per Flipkart’s listing, the device is confirmed to launch with a price tag of Rs 5,999. The Chinese smartphone company Vivo’s sub-brand iQoo has announced the launch of its latest 5G smartphone in China. The company has introduced iQoo U3 which is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 800U 5G processor. In addition to this, the smartphone falls under the mid-range price segment and offers a high refresh rate screen, a massive battery and dual rear cameras. iQoo U3 has been introduced in China in two different configurations. The 6GB RAM with 128GB storage model comes with a price tag of CNY 1,498 that translates to Rs 16,800 while the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage price has been set at CYN 1,698 that translates to Rs 19,100. The 5G smartphone will be available in two shades of Glow Blue and Too Early Black.
The launch of the smartphone came just after when it was listed on JD.com a few days back. The device is now available for pre-order until December 17 and will be available for sale from December 18 onwards.

The iQoo U3 runs on iQoo UI 1.5 based on the top of Android 10. The device comes with a 6.58-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1080×2408 pixels. The display also offers a high refresh rate panel of 90Hz with 401ppi pixel density and HDR10 support. It offers a 20.07:9 aspect ratio with a 90.61 percent screen-to-body ratio. The 5G smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 800U 5G processor offering up to 8GB of and 128GB of storage options.

Google Down: Google services are now fully back after the Global outage
While accessing the internet on your device this evening many of you might have thought that something is wrong with your data or Wi-Fi connection when YouTube showed “Something went wrong on your browser. Well, nothing was wrong with your internet but the Google services were down across the globe. Many of the users were reportedly facing issues accessing the search engine, Google Contacts, Docs, Drive, Gmail, YouTube, and more. Yes, it was down for us too here in India including various other countries.
The major outage affected Google services for a couple of hours today and the users were prompted with currently not working or error messages in India including Europe and the US. The popular video streaming platform YouTube was also hit by the outage. As reported by Downdetector YouTube faced over 24,000 cases that began at around 5.40 IST in India. While Gmail reported over 11,000 cases. In a similar way, Google Drive and Google search engine also reported over 400 and 15,000 cases respectively.
While people reported the problem on social media with the hashtag #GoogleDown which trended on Twitter. The users complained about the issue as this glitch has affected many users as half of the world is dependent on Gmail, Docs and other services including Calendar, Sheets, Meet, and Voice while taking work from home. On opening YouTube a message ‘something went wrong’ is wrong. The company itself confirmed the issue on Twitter by tweeting, “We are aware that many of you are having issues accessing YouTube right now – our team is aware and looking into it. We’ll update you here as soon as we have more news.”
The widespread outage lasted for over an hour and the Google services were fully functional as the company confirmed via tweet, “We’re back up and running! You should be able to access YouTube again and enjoy videos as normal”
This is not the first time that Google has faced such a global outage. In August this year, Google Drive, Gmail, Docs and other services by Google were hit by the outage. Then users who were affected were largely from India, the U.S., Japan, Australia and others. Recently in November YouTube was also down and it completely stopped working worldwide however other services by Google remained unaffected and were accessible.

EA to reportedly acquire Codemasters for £725 million: Here’s what you should know

The deal overshadowed a previous transaction that was agreed between competitor publisher Take-Two Interactive and Codemasters. According to Sky News, the firm had agreed to buy Codemasters for £726 million (which translated to INR 71678.71 million) only last month.
A report by Reuters quoted the British firm as saying, “The Codemasters Board has considered various aspects of the EA Offer and considers the EA Offer to represent a superior offer for Codemasters’ shareholders as compared with the Take-Two Offer.” If rumours are to be believed a source from gaming industry has revealed that EA was working with bankers at UBS on its offer.

In the second edition of the study titled ‘Smartphones and their impact on human relationships 2020’, Vivo has showcased the various dimensions of increasing smartphone usage. Smartphone has become the centre of universe in everyone’s lives. This significance became utmost when COVID-19 and ensued lockdowns hit people this year, forcing them to stay indoors for their safety.
“The year 2020 was unusual – a year that nobody had imagined. Amidst the socially distant lives that the pandemic pushed us to lead, the smartphone emerged as the central nervous system for everything – be it working or learning from home or staying connected with friends and family,” said Nipun Marya, Director-Brand Strategy, Vivo India.
The study by Vivo has revealed that 66 percent of Indians believe that their smartphone improves their quality of life. Still, a shocking 70 percent of Indians feel that if their smartphone usage continues increasing, it is likely to impact their mental/physical health. Additionally, 74 percent of respondents said that periodically switching off their mobile phone can help them spend more time with family. However, only 18 percent of users have actually switched off their phone on their own.
Furthermore, it was revealed that Vivo India aims to sensitize people about the benefits of responsible use of smartphones through the second edition of ‘Smartphones and their Impact on Human Relationships’ study.
The Vivo findings below suggest how smartphones are the central nervous system for everything that consumers do as there was a 25 percent increase in average daily time spent on smartphone has increased in the post-COVID era. Besides this, Indians are spending more time on smartphone since lockdown (April 2020) as some people are spending around 55 percent time on Social Media while others are spending around 45 percent time on gaming. The smartphones is the central nervous system for everything that consumers do as 79 percent users agree that a smartphone helps them stay connected with their loved ones. Also, 66 percent users agree that smartphones improve overall quality of life.
While smartphone emerged as a necessity and had given much-needed flexibility to people, its excessive usage has triggered addiction as 88 percent users agree that people point them out for using the phone when they are with them. Vivo further added that around 46 percent people pick up the phone at least five times in an hour-long conversation and 70 percent users feel excessive use of smartphones is impacting their mental and physical health. On the other hand, 84 percent users check their phones within 15 minutes of waking up.
As far as relationship is concerned, Vivo added that the smartphone addiction resulting from excessive usage of smartphone is impacting human behavior and relationships. With 89 percent users agree that excessive use of smartphone is having an impact on the quality of time spent with their loved ones. Additionally, 74 percent feel that it is important to have a life separate from your smartphones. And 70 percent users feel that mindless usage of smartphones is adversely impacting their relationships.

Samsung launches first 110-inch Micro LED to enhance viewing experience
In order to create a stunning viewing experience on the next-generation extra-large TV screen, Samsung has unveiled the first 110 inch Micro LED in Korea. The Samsung Micro LED has an even wider color palette and improved brightness values owing to the TV’s self-illuminating and tiny diodes that will go on sale worldwide in the first quarter of 2021.
With the new 110 inch Micro LED, Samsung is now offering the innovative screen technology for the first time in the form of a classic TV. Unlike its modular counterpart, no professional help is needed to install and calibrate the device. After power on, the built-in video and audio features are available as well as other smart features immediately after power on.
With the launch of the 110 inch Micro LED, Samsung is creating a stunning viewing experience on the next-generation extra-large TV screen.

Users benefit from the display’s 4K resolution with eight million pixels, stunning colors, and precise brightness values.
Furthermore, the brand new micro-processor of Samsung 110 inch Micro LED is also equipped with artificial intelligence to deliver high-resolution 4K HDR content with bright, vivid and highly realistic image quality, which in turn is optimized for different scenes.
Additionally, the underlying technology of Samsung 110 inch Micro LED ensures that image quality remains at a high level in the long term. The integrated LEDs are made of inorganic materials, which make them not only durable, but also very durable. The average lifespan of such a diode is up to 100,000 hours, or more than a decade.
According to Samsung, “The commercial production of a 110 inch micro LED screen for private use was not within the realm of possibility. Nokia PureBook X14 teased to include 10th Gen Intel Core i5 processor
Nokia will officially launch its first laptop series in India. The Nokia laptop series includes the company’s first laptop namely Nokia PureBook X14. The new laptop will be available via the e-commerce website Flipkart in the country. As per the dedicated microsite, the key features on the PureBook have been revealed just ahead of the launch. Until now there is no word from the company pertaining to the launch timeline of the Nokia laptop but Flipkart suggests it to be coming soon. In addition to this, not one but multiple laptops by Nokia have received BIS certification indicating to make their debut in India.
As being teased by an updated microsite on Flipkart suggests that Nokia PureBook X14 will be available in a black colour option and will be featuring a chiclet-style keyboard. In addition to this, the laptop by Nokia will also include a touchpad bigger in size.
According to the microsite at least one model which Nokia PureBook X14 in the Nokia laptop series will include the 10th Gen Intel Core i5 processor. As per a report the listing of the upcoming laptop has also been spotted on the e-retailer website suggesting the 10th generation Intel Core i5-10210U processor coupled with 8GB DDR4 RAM and 512GB SSD storage. The internal storage can be expanded up to 16GB with the use of Intel UHD graphics. It could run Windows 10 Home edition and will further include two USB 3.1, single Type-C and USB 2.0 ports with an HDMI port, Ethernet port and headphone jack.
As per the listing, the Nokia PureBook X14 might also include a 14-inch Full HD resolution display offering 1920 x 1080 pixels of resolution with Dolby Vision support. Moreover, the bezels on the sides are 4.8 millimetres thin with up to 178-degree viewing angle. The Nokia laptop is suggested to come with a magnesium-aluminium alloy body with a matte black finish weighing 1.1 kilograms.
The PureBook is also said to feature an HD IR Webcam that supports Windows Hello features to unlock the laptop and a keyboard offering 1.4 millimetres key travel with backlight support. In addition to this, the notebook might also include a 46.7 WHr battery claiming to last up to 8 hours on a single charge.
The listing also reveals to offer the Nokia PureBook X14 with a price tag of Rs 90,000 however this is not the actual pricing and the company might reveal confirmed pricing at a later date when the official launch of the device happens.

Samsung recently introduced its hot-off-the-press F-series in India. Samsung Galaxy F41 is the company’s first in this series. We have been using this phone for quite some time and to be honest, we found subtle differences between the already dominant M-series by Samsung, which some might think are not enough. This smartphone has an octa-core Exynos 9611 SoC, 6,000mAh battery, waterdrop-style design display and triple rear camera set up. Let’s find out in our extensive Samsung Galaxy F41 review to know what’s new, how good it is from other devices and should you buy it or not.
The Samsung Galaxy F41 also shares some attributes with the company’s M-series smartphones such as and L-design triple cameras housed inside a rectangular module with an LED flash. Also, there is a rear fingerprint sensor while the front has an Infinity U design notch display. On the left side of the frame, a SIM tray is given while the right side has the volume rocker and the power on/off button.
At the bottom, Samsung Galaxy F41 has a 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type-C port, mic and speaker grille. The texture of the phone appears to be smooth as it is made up of a combination of both plastics as well as glass. However, we did not dislike the phone but we would have expected the form factor to be more fresh as it this a new line-up.
Samsung Galaxy F41 features a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-U display. It offers 420 nits of peak brightness making it ideal for both outdoor and indoor usage. Nevertheless, the big display is ideal for today’s users who spend hours getting work done, studying, watching videos or simply play games on it.
We spent a good amount of time watching videos and browsing social media and no doubt we had a delightful time with this phone.
The fingerprint sensor is really fast to respond and accurately registered our fingerprint expression to unlock the device. Besides this, the phone also includes face unlock but really liked the earlier one more accurate and reasonably fast than the later one. The audio experience on the phone is also quite decent as it has a bottom-firing loudspeaker, which is clear and loud. It should be noted that the retail box does not ship earphones so you have to get them separately, for an additional charge.
In case you are a heavy gamer then this phone is not the best option and you can go for a better device specialised for heavy gaming. Over that, the device heats up slightly if you prolong your gaming session.
When it comes to the battery. the Samsung Galaxy F41 comes with a massive 6,000mah battery. It supports 15-watt fast charging so that you don’t have to remain connected to a power outlet for long. The battery is good enough to last for more than a day, even two if you are an average user. If you are a power user then the battery will easily last you a full day. Using the supplied fast charger, the device gets fully charged from zero to 100 percent in three hours.
On the software front, the Samsung Galaxy F41 runs Android 10 with One UI Core on top, which offers smooth switching between apps and performs all the multitasking jobs perfectly. We encountered some lag but those can be ignored. The UI is smooth but comes with some amount of bloatware. Yes, the device has some already pre-loaded apps such as Dailyhunt, MX TakTak, Candy Crush Saga, Moj app, Dhani, Zee5, Chingari, Josh and more. All of them, thankfully, can be removed.
In terms of photography, the device features a triple rear camera setup that includes a 64-megapixel primary sensor. Further assisted by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with a field of view of 123 degrees and a 5-megapixel sensor with live focus support. The camera setup has 4K video recording support as well. On the front, this has a 32-megapixel selfie camera with live focus support.
The primary sensor of the device captures stunning photos making your special moments even more special. The 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens captures amazing details in ultra-wide mode with getting more area covered into a single photo. While the latter focuses on what matters the most, getting you a perfect portrait image.
Apart from the rear camera, the Samsung Galaxy F41 has a 32-megapixel sensor on the front for perfect selfies. The camera app supports a host of powerful features. While the single take option makes it easier to capture a single moment in a number of ways, there are other useful modes on the native camera app as well for the more of a power user.
Apart from capturing images, the Samsung Galaxy F41 smartphone can also record 4K videos at 30fps, HD slow-motion video can be recorded at 240fps with up to 8x digital zoom. The overall quality of the cameras on the phone are decent for its class and we quite enjoyed shooting with it.

Oppo Reno 5 5G and Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G with quad cameras and 90Hz refresh rate displays launched
The Chinese smartphone company Oppo has officially unveiled its latest edition of Reno devices in China today. The company has introduced Oppo Reno 5 5G and Oppo Reno 5 Pro 5G while the company has also teased Oppo Reno 5 Pro+ 5G as its next generation of 5G Reno smartphones. The lineup is the successor of the Reno 4 series and it now comes with a quad-camera set up, octa-core processor and 65W fast charging. For photos and videos, Oppo Reno 5 5G comes with a quad rear camera setup that includes a 64-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.7 aperture. Further assisted by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, a 2-megapixel macro lens with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The device sports a 32-megapixel selfie sensor on the front display.

During the four days of the sale, the company will be offering its smartphones at discounted pricing. The company will be putting up its entire range of devices on sale that will include Poco X3. Poco X2, Poco M2 Pro, Poco M2 and Poco C3.
The first on the list is Poco C3 which was launched as a successor to Poco X2 in India The device will now be available with a discounted price of Rs 15,999 for the 6GB RAM with 64GB storage while the 128G GB will be Rs 1500 cheaper and can be purchased at Rs 16,999. The 8GB RAM with 128GB storage option will be offered at Rs 18,999. The phone has a 6.67-inch full-HD+ display and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G processor with Adreno 618 GPU for graphics. This phone also has a quad rear camera set up that includes a 64-megapixel Sony IMX682 primary sensor, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor as well as a macro sensor. On the front, there is a 20-megapixel selfie camera on the smartphone.
Poco C3 which is available in a 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and 6GB RAM with 64GB storage option can now be purchased at Rs 6,999 and Rs 7,999 respectively. During the Poco Days Sale on Flipkart, the company will be offering a discount of Rs 1000 on each variant. The smartphone features a 6.53-inch HD+ LCD waterdrop-style notch display and runs on MIUI 12 for Poco on top of Android 10. The phone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G35 chipset and has a triple rear camera setup that includes a 13-megapixel primary sensor, a 2-megapixel macro lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor along with a 5-megapixel selfie sensor.
Poco M2 comes with MediaTek Helio G80 octa-core processor, packed with a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. It has a 6.53-inch full-HD+ display with a quad rear camera setup that includes a 13-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5-megapixel macro lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The Chinese company Xiaomi has officially announced the launch of its new smart wearable that is Mi Watch Lite. The smartwatch is a rebranded variant of the Redmi Watch which arrived in China last month. Mi Watch Lite has been introduced in China with a price tag of CNY 299 that translated to Rs 3,300. This device is expected to be offered at similar pricing in the international market also. The smartwatch will be available in five colour options of Pink, Ivory, Olive, Navy Blue, and Black strap.

The Mi Watch Lite comes with a 1.4 inch coloured LCD display having a resolution of 320×320 pixels. The square dial offers a pixel density of 323ppi and an adaptive brightness of 350 nits. The device comes with more than 120 watch faces as well as emoji support and watch face function customization. There will be three color options for the watch case, five color options for the strap. To connect an Android smartphone with the watch the user needs to install the Xiaomi Wear app from the Play Store while the iOS users need to install the Xiaomi Wear Lite app via App Store.
The smartwatch offers 11 workout modes that include outdoor cycling, indoor cycling, outdoor running, treadmill, walking, open water swimming, swimming in the pool, cricket, trekking, trial run, walking, indoor running, and free activities. In addition to this, the watch is 5 ATM certified with a water resistance of up to 50m.
The Mi Watch Lite equips a PPG sensor and can also support heart rate monitoring, sleep monitoring, and guided breathing exercises. The device notifies you when your heart rate goes above normal levels. It can also save your resting heart rate data for 30 days to help monitor long-term heart rate changes. While the sleep monitor can analyze your sleep data such as deep sleep, light sleep and sleep duration to help maintain good sleeping habits.
Mi Watch Lite can deliver up to nine days of battery life in typical usage and up to 10 hours in continuous GPS sports mode. There is a 230mAH battery on the watch which takes exactly two hours to completely charge. The smart wearable can instantly Instantly view calls, texts, and app notifications. Moreover, it can also help the user to control music while keeping your phone in your pocket. While the idle alert reminds you to stay active. At the recently concluded Qualcomm Smart Cities Accelerate 2020 virtual event, the tech giant announced that Qualcomm IoT Services Suite will directly support smart cities and connected spaces innovation in order to deliver an end-to-end IoT Platform and IoT as a Service Across Multiple Verticals.
The event brought the Smart Cities and Smart Connected Spaces ecosystem — CIOs, CTOs, city managers, ODMs/OEMs, system integrators, mobile operators, and global technology solution providers — together to explore the most recent technology advancements, business models, and lessons for making Smart Connected Cities and Connected Spaces a reality.
According to the company, “Our Qualcomm Smart Cities Accelerator program membership has grown to ~300, with allocation of an initial $75 million from capital investment firms to jump-start projects. Additionally, we’ve made two additional announcements that directly support smart cities and connected spaces innovation: to deliver an end-to-end IoT Platform and IoT as a Service Across Multiple Verticals through our Qualcomm IoT Services Suite.”
As far as Qualcomm Smart Campus is concerned, the company announced that the official launch of its digitally transformed Qualcomm Smart Campus in San Diego. The campus replicates a smart city environment at the scale of a campus, featuring commercially available end-to-end solutions as implementation of a number of “smarts” — from lighting, parking, transportation, logistics, trash cans, and security. All campus capabilities can be viewed, managed, and controlled from the corresponding command center while providing insights and real-time data and activity across the many sensors. The vision for the Smart Campus is for it to be continuously reimagined and replicated, promoting sophisticated IoT technologies, AI, and 5G technologies to be customized to the needs of various industries and communities. Qualcomm further added that it couldn’t be more thrilled about this launch, and look forward to the innovations our ecosystem collaborators are helping to bring to life for commercial deployment.
Elaborating about its new solutions, Qualcomm Technologies and Infinite teams shared, “We are developing right now, including innovative AI-driven IoT applications using Zyter SmartSpaces IoT platform. They dove into “IoT as a Service” and how the Zyter SmartSpaces platform is enabling intelligent end-to-end digital transformation through the Qualcomm IoT Services Suite. With the ability to deploy rapidly across multiple verticals, these new solutions can unlock connected spaces and smart cities at large.”
Qualcomm also focuses on how connected spaces can create new areas for innovation and growth, and how the expansion of 5G supports and accelerates the advancements of these technologies.

Microsoft rolls out Azure Hybrid Benefit for Linux in India
Microsoft has rolled out the general availability of its Azure Hybrid Benefit solution for Linux customers across India. It enables customers seamlessly migrate on-premises Windows Server and SQL Server licenses, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) virtual machines (VMs) to Microsoft Azure.
The launch of Microsoft Azure Hybrid Benefit for Linux in India enables significant reduction in cost of running workloads on-the-cloud by converting existing PAYG (pay-as-you-go) virtual machines (VMs) to bring-your-own-subscription (BYOS) billing.
According to Microsoft, “In the new normal, it is challenging for businesses to adjust their strategies to maintain productive operations and processes. Businesses face challenges in migrating workload to public cloud due to regulatory and data sovereignty related issues. This is common in highly regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, and government. Also, some workloads, especially those related to edge, require low latency.”
Businesses can achieve lowest cost of ownership by combining reservations savings and extended security updates through Azure Hybrid Benefit. Organizations can also effectively plan their cloud roadmap by optimizing Azure environment as per their workload for scale, security, governance, networking, and identity.
Azure Hybrid Benefit offers several capabilities that are unique to Microsoft Azure. It is applicable to all Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and SUSE Enterprise Server pay-as-you-go images available in the Azure Marketplace or Azure Portal. Furthermore, it saves time with seamless post-deployment conversions as there’s no need for production redeployment. Businesses can simply convert pay-as-you-go images used during proof of concept testing to bring-your-own-subscription billing.
In addition to this, Azure Hybrid Benefit lowers ongoing operational costs with automatic image maintenance, updates, and patches. Microsoft maintains the converted RHEL and SLES images for customers. Organizations can save up to 85 percent compared to standard pay-as-you-go rates. It enables user interface integration with Azure command line interface (CLI), providing the same UI as other Azure virtual machines, as well as scalable batch conversions.
Moreover, businesses get co-located technical support from Azure, Red Hat, and SUSE with just one ticket. The solution combined with recently announced Red Hat and SUSE support for Azure shares disks to lift-and-shift failover clusters and parallel file systems—like Global File System. It is fully compatible with Azure Arc, providing end-to-end hybrid cloud operations management for Windows, RHEL, and SLES servers in one solution.
Using Azure Hybrid Benefit, Microsoft is allowing organizations bring existing on-premises Windows Server and SQL Server licenses with active Software Assurance or subscriptions to Azure. Azure Hybrid Benefit is applicable to SQL on Azure and Azure Dedicated Host. Moreover, it provides 180 days of dual-use rights so businesses can maintain on-premises operation while migrating to Azure.
