The new console design of the PS5 marks a radical departure from previous PlayStation consoles. However, it was notified that the pricing and additional details for PlayStation 5 will be announced at a later date. Asserting that the livestream event by Sony is just a glimpse of what’s to come in the next generation, Jim Ryan, President and CEO of SIE, said, “With PlayStation 5, we are making a significant leap to deliver a truly new generation of transformative play experiences that will redefine expectations for what games can be.” Sony stated that an array of new PS5 accessories will also be launched to boost the gaming experience. This would include:
  1. A PULSE 3D wireless headset that will comprise of 3D audio support and dual noise-cancelling microphones
  2. HD Camera that will be equipped with 1080p lenses for gamers to broadcast themselves along with their epic gameplay moments
  3. A Media Remote with built-in microphone to navigate movies and streaming services with ease
  4. A DualSense Charging Station for easily charging of two DualSense Wireless Controllers
The PlayStation 5 will be donning a black and white themed vertical design. The two surfaces of the console is white while the inner part is all black. There is going to be a USB-C port on the front and blue LED lights. In addition to this the company has also launched a slew of accessories alongside the two consoles. A Pulse 3D wireless headset, an HD camera, a media remote, and a charging dock for the DualSense controller has been released.

Poco M2 Pro Review: An all-rounder
Poco is the by-product of the Chinese smartphone company Xiaomi. They recently launched the Poco M2 in the country. In India Poco M2 Pro has three variants of 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage at Rs 13,999, 6GB RAM with 64GB storage at Rs 14,999 whereas the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage variant price has been set at Rs 16,999. For the review, we have received 6GB RAM with 64GB storage option. So, without further ado, let’s begin the review of Poco M2 Pro to know how it is different from other smartphones in the same segment.

Poco M2 Pro Design and Display

On opening the box, the first thing that came to our mind is that we have already seen a device with a similar design. The Poco M2 Pro looks have been inspired by the Redmi Note 9 Series. Only the branding is different, else everything is very similar. Here we are not only talking about the design aspects but (to an extent) the specifications are also the same. You can check out here how both phones share similarities.

You get a large hole-punch design display although there is a 5,020mAh battery it is bulkier and a bit slimmer with curved edges. The display comes with a layer of triple Corning Gorilla glass 5 for safety. The selfie camera is positioned inside the hole punch at the top centre of the phone. While on the right side the volume rocker and a power button integrated with a fingerprint scanner are given. At the bottom, users can find a 3.5mm audio jack with the USB Type-C port for charging, a mic and a speaker grille. The rear panel of the smartphone comes with a glossy finish, we have the Greener than Green version for testing, nonetheless, it is available in two more shades (Out of the Blue and Two Shades of Black). The bottom two-thirds part of the back panel has an angular striped pattern which has a Poco logo. Over that, the device comes with P2i water-repellent coating. Also, a camera bump with quad sensors has been placed right at the top centre of the phone. We must say, the overall design of the Poco M2 Pro is quite attractive.   Poco M2 Pro Review: An all-rounder Moving on the display, the phone features a 6.67-inch full-HD+ display with a 20:9 aspect ratio offering 1,080×2,400 pixels of resolution. It lacks a higher refresh rate, which could be disappointing for gamers. If you are a Poco fan and looking for a device with a high refresh rate then this phone is not for you as here you get a standard 60Hz display, however, a 120Hz panel is available on the Poco X2. The mobile phone performed smoothly when playing games like Subway Surfer and Asphalt 9. Slight lag was seen at times, but nothing that will put you off. The display is bright and produces punchy colours and is visible in direct sunlight. As the display is Widevine L1 certified streaming Netflix and Amazon Prime Video is a treat. Not to forget, for the readers the device comes with a night mode and reading mode so that your eyes don’t stress. For the price, we think the company is offering a really good display.

Poco M2 Pro is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The internal memory is expandable by up to 512GB using a microSD card. The device is pretty good at managing day to day tasks, but on some occasions (especially when multitasking) the handset slows down. So remember to keep the memory free by shutting down the not used apps running in the background. We also tested playing heavier games on its such as PUBG Mobile and it did well even on high graphics settings. However, the phone heats up when you play games for long hours or when the camera app is running in the background.

The Poco M2 Pro runs on MIUI 11 skinned on top of Android 10. Instead of running MIUI launcher, it runs its own Poco Launcher as default. It comes with a lot of unnecessary apps which we hardly used. The saving grace is that you can also get rid of all the junk by uninstalling or disabling or not providing app permissions. There are lots of third-party apps, which have already been banned in India such as Helo and some others. But we are sure, with the next update these would be driven out of the phone. Since there is a single speaker on Poco M2 Pro, we found the sound to be on the lower side. We would have appreciated a little more volume coming front the audio driver.

Next, let’s talk about camera performance. First, let’s take a look at what the smartphone brings. On the rear panel, you get a quad rear camera set up that includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor, a secondary 8-megapixel Ultra-Wide-angle lens and a 5-megapixel macro lens as well as a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Upfront there is a 16-megapixel selfie camera sitting inside the hole-punch display. We have to mention, the Poco M2 Pro’s camera specs are also similar to Redmi Note 9 Pro. We were quite satisfied how well the camera performed in both bright as well as low light conditions, which we were missing during the Note 9 Pro Max review (read here). The outcome is fantastic. The pictures are very detailed and punchy that you just can’t stop at one. We even took a few pictures in a moving vehicle and still got appealing images. And yes, to add glory to your pictures the pro mode on the camera app go us splendid beautiful aspects of the subject.  Poco On the less bright side, the 48-megapixel mode does not have support for HDR. If you are just like us who is inclined towards extreme close-up photography then this phone is not for you, we would recommend Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. The macro shots lack a bit of detail, however, the colours look vibrant which made the overall picture look good. The device also had some issues in focusing the subject which simply puts our mood off.

The portrait mode is perfect and the shots clicked looked pretty good. Same was the case with ultra-wide mode, but we would have appreciated a little more edge clarity. The video mode on the Poco M2 Pro is outstanding; it can capture 4K video at 30FPS. Also, one can record macro and ultrawide videos at 1080p, 30FPS. You also get an option to shoot cinematic videos in a 21:9 aspect ratio. All of them came out vibrant and very close to life.  As for the battery, the Poco M2 pro is backed by a 5,000mAh battery that is pretty good for an average user like us. The battery lasted for more than a day of nominal use. The device is bundled with a 33W ultra-fast charging that charges the device fully in about 1 hour 30 minutes. This was missing in Redmi Note 9 Pro. 

Verdict

The overall performance of Poco M2 Pro is satisfactory. For a price tag of Rs 14,999, the device performs well while offering a great battery life. It takes stunning pictures and yes, the low light images are also pretty good. The smartphone is well designed giving a premium feel. The price also makes sense as it is an all-rounder. It is backed by a 4,500mAh battery and powered by an octa-core Exynos 880 processor with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor on it. The device’s specifications are very much close to Vivo Y70s the only difference here is the camera details. The Chinese smartphone company Realme today launched a new smartphone in the market. The company has unveiled Realme 6i in India under the budget segment powered by octa-core MediaTek Helio G90T SoC. It further includes a hole-punch display and quad rear cameras. The device launched in India is not the one that was launched in Myanmar but it is the one which launched in Europe rebranded to Realme 6i. While on the design front the device looks similar to the Realme Narzo 10 series. Realme 6i price and availability Realme 6i has been launched in India two different variants of 4GB of RAM with 6GB of RAM at Rs 12,999, while the 6GB RAM with 64GB storage model priced at Rs 14,999. Our Take

On the design front, Lenovo looks like a well-designed phone. It comes with a pop-up selfie camera that can be helpful during live streaming sessions. Whereas Asus ROG Phone 3 comes with dual touch sensors — located on the long edges of the ROG Phone 3 allowing any in-game action for a console-like experience. Both the phones come with a similar display having a 144Hz refresh rate with a 240Hz touch sampling rate. The smartphones are also powered by Snapdragon 865+ mobile platforms whereas the camera module on the Asus looks pretty much better than Lenovo Legion Duel. ROG Phone is the best option for those who want all the gaming features along with photography features. But the side-mounted front camera might be beneficial for the gamers for live-streaming gaming sessions. The Chinese smartphone company Realme is all set to launch a new smartphone in India today. The company is going to introduce Realme 6i under the affordable price segment in the country. The device is going to join its other sibling in the Realme 6-series of smartphones. The Realme 6i is powered by MediaTek Helio G80 processor. There is a quad rear camera set up and will be available in two colour options of White Milk and Green Tea. Just ahead of the official launch the device has also been listed on the e-commerce website Flipkart to tease its availability in India. The device is going to launch in the country today at 12 noon. According to the company in India, all the devices including the upcoming Realme 61 will not come pre-installed with any app that has been banned in India. The company took to Twitter to announce this. Achieving an important milestone on its way to the launch pad, NASA has announced that its Mars 2020 Perseverance rover mission has cleared the Flight Readiness Review. The meeting was an opportunity for the Mars 2020 team and launch vehicle provider United Launch Alliance to report on the readiness of the spacecraft, along with the Atlas V rocket, flight and ground hardware, software, personnel, and procedures. According to NASA, the daily launch window opens at 7:50 a.m. EDT (which translates to 5:00 p.m. IST) on Thursday, July 30. According to NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine, “This mission is emblematic of our nation’s spirit of meeting problems head-on and finding solutions together. The incredible science Perseverance will enable and the bold human missions it will help make possible are going to be inspirations for us all.” Expressing happiness on passing another milestone with the completion of the Flight Readiness Review, Matt Wallace, deputy project manager for the mission at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Southern California, said, “But we’ll keep our heads down through the final prelaunch activities and the opening of the launch window next week, until we’re certain this spacecraft is safely on its way. Mars is a tough customer, and we don’t take anything for granted.” With all the connections between the spacecraft and Atlas V launch vehicle complete, the majority of business remaining for Mars 2020’s Assembly, Test, and Launch Operations (ATLO) team involves checking out every one of the multitude of systems and subsystems onboard the rover, aeroshell, cruise stage, and descent stage. Stating that NASA can’t wait to take the next steps on the surface of Mars with Perseverance, Lori Glaze, director of the Planetary Science Division at NASA Headquarters in Washington, said, “The science and technology of this mission are going to help us address major questions about the geologic and astrobiologic history of Mars that we’ve been working on for decades, and we’re excited to take the whole word with us on this journey.” At this point, the spacecraft has been powered on and will remain so around the clock. Scheduled Monday, July 27, the Launch Readiness Review is the last significant check-up before the mission receives final approval to proceed with launch. Around 1 p.m. EDT on July 27 (which translates to 10:30 p.m. IST), or approximately one hour after the Launch Readiness Review ends, the agency will hold a pre-flight news conference that will air live on NASA Television and the agency’s website. NASA revealed Mars 2020 Perseverance rover’s astrobiology mission will search for signs of ancient microbial life. It will also characterize the planet’s climate and geology, pave the way for human exploration of the Red Planet, and be the first planetary mission to collect and cache selected samples of Martian rock and regolith (broken rock and dust). Subsequent missions, currently under consideration by NASA in cooperation with ESA (European Space Agency), would send spacecraft to Mars to collect these cached samples from the surface and return them to Earth for in-depth analysis. The Mars 2020 mission with its Perseverance rover are part of America’s larger Moon to Mars exploration approach that includes missions to the Moon as a way to prepare for human exploration of the Red Planet. Charged with sending the first woman and next man to the Moon by 2024, NASA will establish a sustained human presence on and around the Moon by 2028 through NASA’s Artemis program. Today the company introduced the Acer Extensa laptop powered by 10th Gen Intel Core i3 Processors. The laptop comes with 8 hours of battery life with an optimized digital webcam microphone along with two built-in stereo speakers. There is a Full HD display with narrow bezels featuring BlueLightShield to reduce harmful blue rays. Additionally, to maintain a strong, consistent wireless signal the Acer laptop comes with Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) wireless antenna and MU-MIMO. HP Smart Tank 515 printer review: Keep on printing
HP has been building printers for decades and the experience, and precision shows in every new unit. Recently HP launched the Smart Tank series and we got to tinker with the HP Smart Tank 515 printer. We spent quite a few days with it to understand it well. Did it impress us? Yes, at various levels. Let’s find out more about the printer in this review.

HP Smart Tank 515 printer design and setup

Out of the box, dressed in black and grey, it looks like any other printer that comes from brand HP, but in a slightly larger size. However, do not get duped by the size, this printer is not heavy at all. It is actually not just a printer, but an all in one. It has a scan bed on top that can hold a single A4 sheet to scan it in colour or black and white. You can directly give the print command from the console present on the top front of the printer. It also has the power button as well as the single colour LED display here. Setting up the HP Smart Tank 515 printer and loading the ink is very easy (just follow the simple manual as we did). Since this printer is a smart tank printer you get two sets of ink loads here. One is in the form of bottles (CMYK) that you need to unload into the ink tanks that are located in the front and the other goes into the printer from the front middle panel. These the regular ink cartridges you get for HP Deskjet printers. But here is the kicker, these cartridges get colours from the ink tanks as well. Hence the word Smart Tank. The power and USB sockets are located at the back; however, we did not go for the USB setup. We went for the Wireless setup on the HP Smart Tank 515 printer, which is super easy. Just head over the HP website and download the HP smart software and follow the on-screen instructions. In 3-4 steps we were done, up and running.

Performance

The HP Smart Tank 515 printer is a performer. From the get-go, it gave us great prints. We gave it some really radical images to print and it delivered with extreme precision. It is a sophisticated piece of machinery. So, we quickly moved to test it further. At draft setting, we got 18 pages per minute (PPM). In the colour mode, this came down to 12. In normal mode, we got black prints at 8 PPM and colour prints were clocked at 3.5 PPM. All of them were with A4 sheets. At the best setting, the HP Smart Tank 515 printer does take extra time. We got a print out in 1.5 minutes. Which is high compared to a laser printer, but when compared to Deskjet it is very comparable. Considering the kind of sharpness and colour accuracy it has, we did not mind the wait. The blacks were deep and colours come out vibrant. To tell you frankly, we were really impressed with it. Coming to the scan speeds, we could scan 2 PPM of A4 sheets. The scans can be taken in up to 1200 dpi (dots per inch) resolution. Here the HP Smart Tank 515 printer did not disappoint either. Scans were accurate and one can even save the scan to PDF directly. Users can also print directly from their mobiles (Android and iOS). The HP smart print app can be downloaded on the mobile phone and prints from the mobile device can be sent directly to the printer (wirelessly). Just remember to be on the same Wi-Fi network for the prints to go through.

Verdict

All in all, the HP Smart Tank 515 printer is one of the best ink tank printers out there. You get large in tanks, so the worry of refilling goes away. It is eco friendly too. It uses only 3.12 watt of power when it is in ready mode and 0.75 watts when it is sleep mode. The paper tray can hold up to 100 A4 sheets and the printer can print different paper types as well as lower sizes including an envelope. At a price of Rs 14,999, the HP Smart Tank 515 printer might seem to be on the higher side of things, however, with low-cost prints you end up saving on the regular cartridge change costs. The company has launched Samsung Galaxy A01 Core, which is the company’s entry-level Android Go edition that comes in a single storage variant. The device will be available in a single 1GB of RAM with 16GB of storage option at IDR 1,099,000 that translates to Rs 5,500 according to Indian currency. But it will be available for purchase with an introductory price of IDR 999,000 comes around Rs 5,000. This introductory price will be offered until July 23.
