Google Assistant can now help you switch on and turn off lights
If you’ve always been feeling too lazy to get up and switch on or turn off lights, Google Assistant is now there to help you out. Wondering how? According to Developers Platform for Google Assistant, “The Scheduled Actions feature allows users to conveniently schedule a smart home command to trigger at a later time.”
Google further revealed that as a developer, one does not need to make any code changes or resubmit the smart home Action in order to enable scheduling. The tech giant has also used an example to inform that the users can schedule the command to be triggered by specifying a time or duration. For example:
- “Hey Google, turn on the lights in five minutes.”
- “Hey Google, turn on the lights at 7 AM.”
- “Hey Google, turn on my coffee maker at 8 AM tomorrow.”
- “Hey Google, run my sprinkler in a week at 5 PM.”
Google paid crowdsourcing service Task Mate app now being tested in India, available via Play Store
The Tech Giant Google is now spotted testing its new app in India that lets you earn money on competing tasks. Task Mate app beta version is now limited to beta tester only is a paid crowdsourcing service in India and is now visible as an early access app on the Play Store.
The app page on the Google Play Store reads, “Task Mate (beta) is limited to selected testers at the moment. Please only download this app if you have a referral code as we are unable to extend further invites at this time.”
The app is currently under development and was first reported by a Reddit user. He said, “Google seems to be testing their new Task Mate app in India which pays you in Indian currency for completing tasks regarding Google app ecosystem. (Currently invitation only).”

After launching Poco M2, the Chinese smartphone company’s sub-brand Poco is all set to launch the follow up of this existing device which is Poco M3. The device is confirmed to launch on November 24. The device is the third model of the company’s M series. Just ahead of the launch the specifications and design of the upcoming smartphone have been leaked on the web. Though the smartphone has been leaked many times previously, this time the camera details of the budget smartphone has been revealed.
As per the leaked CAD renders of Poco M3 the device is shown featuring a large black coloured rear camera set up covering one-third space of the back panel. Though the large camera panel only carries three sensors with LED flash and a Poco branding. While the back panel has a textured finish for better grip. The front panel has a bezel-less design and a waterdrop notch to house a selfie camera. While the fingerprint scanner and volume rocker are stated to be embedded on the right side of the phone. The SIM card slot has been given on the left side of the frame.
In addition to this, the renders also reveal the yellow and blue colour options while the rumours also suggest three colour variants black, yellow, and blue. As far as the internals of the Poco M3 are concerned it is confirmed to feature an FHD+ 6.53-inch display with a 60Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC while the rumours suggested a 4GB RAM. It is expected to house a 6,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. The Poco M3 is said to run on MIUI 12 for Poco based on top of Android 10. Camera details of the smartphone still remain unknown while it’s tipped to have a 48-megapixel primary sensor. The device is also speculated to be a rebadged variant of Redmi Note 10 As of now, there is no word from the company in terms of pricing. Moto G 5G to likely to be a pocket-friendly 5G phone in India
Moto G 5G and Moto G9 Power tipped to launch in India soon. As per the Indian tipsters, Moto G 5G could become the cheapest 5G phone in the country taking on OnePlus Nord and other brands such as Xiaomi as well as Vivo. Recently the devices went on the Indian certification website, Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) suggesting launch. To recall the devices were launched in the European market.

To recall Moto G 5G was launched in Europe a 6.7-inch full-HD+ LTPS display with 1,080×2,400 pixels of resolution and 394ppi pixel density. It runs Android 10 and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G processor coupled with 4GB of RAM with 64GB of expandable storage. A triple rear camera set up that includes a 48-megapixel primary camera with f/1.7 aperture. In addition to this, there is an 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 118-degree field of view and a 2-megapixel macro lens with f/2.4 aperture. For taking selfies and video calling there is a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/2.2 aperture.
The Moto G 5G houses a 5,000mAh battery with 20W TurboPower fast charging support and is touted to last up to 2 days on a single charge. As a connectivity option, there is 5G, NFC, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, USB Type-C port, GPS among others. Moreover, it has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor placed inside the Motorola batwing logo.
On the other hand, Moto G9 Power features a 6.8-inch HD+ IPS display with a resolution of 720×1,640 pixels. It runs a stock Android 10 operating system and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC paired with 4GB RAM with 128GB of expandable storage option. For photos, Moto G9 Power includes a triple camera set up on the back of the phone with a 64-megapixel primary sensor with an aperture of f/1.79. The camera set up is further assisted by two more sensors: a 2-megapixel macro sensor with an aperture of f/2.4 and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. On the front, Motorola’s smartphone sports a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture for taking selfies and video chats.
In addition, there is a 6,000mAh battery that offers 20W fast charging support. In terms of connectivity, there is Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth v5, NFC, USB Type-C, 3.5mm audio jack, and 4G LTE.

Vivo V20 Pro 5G now up for pre-bookings in India ahead of the launch
There were reports last month suggesting Vivo V20 Pro 5G launch in India. But in a new development, the price of the device has been leaked as well as now available for pre-bookings via offline retails stores in the county. The device was earlier speculated to launch at the end of November but now it is expected to arrive next month. The key highlights of the smartphone include a Snapdragon 765G processor and an AMOLED screen.
As per the latest report by 91mobiles Vivo V20 Pro 5G price has been revealed. The device is now up for pre-orders via offline retailers in the country in addition to pre-booking bank offers. In India, the smartphone is said to be available with a price tag of Rs 29,990 which goes in line with the pricing set for the Thailand market which also costs under Rs 30,000.
In addition to this a poster has also revealed the bank offers that include 10 percent cashback via ICICI Bank and Bank of Baroda, easy EMI options, and Jio benefits, among others.
On the other hand, Tipster Sudhanshu via Twitter has revealed that the Vivo V20 Pro will launch in India on November 25. GTA Online gamers to access ‘The Cayo Perico Heist’ on December 15
Rockstar Games has finally revealed that The Cayo Perico Heist will be making way on Grand Theft Auto (GTA) Online on December 15. GTA Online fans will get set to infiltrate the remote island compound of the world’s most notorious drug dealer in GTA Online’s biggest, most daring, and action-packed addition yet: The Cayo Perico Heist.
According to an official blog post by Rockstar Games, “It’s time to raise the stakes higher than ever before. You’ve broken a convicted spy out of Bolingbroke Penitentiary. You’ve saved the world from an egomaniacal tech billionaire. And you’ve beaten the odds to drain a casino of its cash. This time, you’re taking on an entire island.”
In this game, one has to find way to breach on Cayo Perico, which is one of the most secure private islands in the entire world. Then, evade or neutralize the heavily armed security forces stationed there to escape with valuable evidence along with as much art, gold and drug money as the gamers can carry.

Google announces RCS messaging chat feature now available globally
In the current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic across the globe, people are relying on messaging more than ever to stay connected with their loved ones. The tech giant has now revealed that it has completed the global rollout of Rich Communication Services (RCS) messaging chat features to make this modern messaging experience universal for everyone on Android device.
According to Google, “For the past few years, we’ve worked with the mobile industry and device makers on several carrier networks in certain countries to provide chat features in Messages based on the open Rich Communication Services (RCS) standard. The chat features upgrade SMS text messaging so you can send and receive better quality photos and videos, chat over Wi-Fi or data, know when your message is read, share reactions, and enjoy more dynamic and engaging group chats.”
In order to offer more security in the chat conversations, Google is continually improving security protections to safeguard the privacy and will be rolling out end-to-end encryption. The first and foremost step towards this is with one-on-one RCS conversations between people using Messages. Furthermore, end-to-end encryption makes sure that no one can read the content of the messages. This even includes Google and third parties.
Google stated that this will roll out to beta testers starting this month and continue into next year. It was further notified that the eligible conversations will automatically upgrade to be end-to-end encrypted. The end-to-end encryption is available when both the sender and the receiver have Messages installed and chat features on. All that has to be done to access the newest features, simply update your Messages app to the latest version or download the app and turn chat features on.
Meanwhile, Google has also retained the top spot in YouGov’s 2020 Best Brand Rankings in India to become the best health brand among urban Indians. On the other hand, YouTube secured a second spot with 53.3 and WhatsApp came down to third position with a score of 53.1.

Google Assistant joins suite of voice assistants on Samsung Smart TVs
In order to enable the users to seamlessly control their smart home devices with a voice assistant, Samsung has announced that Google Assistant will join Amazon Alexa and Bixby to offer enhanced discovery abilities. Mind you! Google Assistant is fully integrated into Samsung Smart TVs and requires no additional downloads, hardware, or installation. According to the South-Korean giant, this feature on the smart TVs is currently available in the UK, France, Germany and Italy. It will be further introduced to 12 other countries by the end of this year.
Stating that the use of voice assistants on the Smart TVs has grown exponentially since Bixby’s launch in 2018, Seline Han, Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, said, “With Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa now supported, we are inviting our consumers to ask even more of their Smart TVs.”
Samsung further revealed that the suite of leading voice assistants is now available on all 2020 4K and 8K QLED TVs, Crystal UHD TVs, The Frame, The Serif, The Sero and The Terrace, and is compatible with viewers’ existing voice assistant ecosystems.

Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich satellite successfully lifts off on SpaceX Falcon 9
Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich, a joint US-European satellite built to monitor global sea levels, lifted off on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Space Launch Complex 4E at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California Saturday at 9:17 a.m. PST (10:47 p.m. IST). The Michael Freilich will extend a nearly 30-year continuous dataset to boost weather forecasts. The launch is managed by NASA’s Launch Services Program, based at the agency’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
With an aim to provide detailed information on large-scale ocean currents to support ship navigation near coastlines, Karen St. Germain, director of NASA’s Earth Science Division, said, “The Earth is changing, and this satellite will help deepen our understanding of how. The changing Earth processes are affecting sea level globally, but the impact on local communities varies widely. International collaboration is critical to both understanding these changes and informing coastal communities around the world.”
NASA revealed that the spacecraft disintegrated from the rocket’s second stage and unfolded its twin sets of solar arrays after entering in orbit. Furthermore, the ground controllers successfully acquired the satellite’s signal. The initial telemetry reports revealed the Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich in good health. It will now undergo a series of exhaustive checks and calibrations before it starts collecting science data in a few months’ time.
Mind you! This spacecraft has been named after Michael Freilich, who was a leading figure in advancing ocean observations from space. Freilich, the former director of NASA’s Earth Science Division, died on August 5, 2020. It’s worth noting that this spacecraft will pass the baton to its twin, Sentinel-6B, in 2025.
Furthermore, NASA notified that this latest mission highlights the first international involvement in Copernicus, the European Union’s Earth Observation Programme. Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich’s suite of scientific instruments will also make atmospheric measurements that can be used to complement climate models and help meteorologists make better weather forecasts.

Facebook has always been paying attention to user’s needs and it keeps on updating its products such as Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp with new features. Recently it has rolled out several features to its photo-sharing app Instagram to enhance the user experience. It introduced Guides, Vanish Mode, Watch together and Chat themes for this platform. Out of the four features, two of them are specifically focused on Reels. This short video sharing feature was introduced in India after a ban on TikTok. Now Instagram has announced new updates for branded content on its platform, which will now include the ‘Branded Content ads with product Tags’ feature in Reels. This feature is also said to be expanded to Live as well.
As per the latest blog post by Instagram “In June 2019, we launched the ability for brands to run branded content posts as ads as a new way to amplify their brand story through the voice of creators. Branded Content ads drive value for creators, too, allowing them to gain additional visibility and discovery.”
Up until the Branded Content ads could only be accessible by promoting the existing posts from creators. But after the new update, the advertisers can create Branded Content ads without the need for creators to post organically on Instagram first.
With the launch of this feature on the photo-sharing app, the brands are now said to have more flexibility with fewer constraints when they want to run Branded Content ads. As per the company the new workflow has been designed with creator control in mind – creators can approve and pause any ads published from their handle.
Advertisers can send requests for Ad Creation Access by heading to SETTINGS and then clicking the BUSINESS options. On opening this option select Branded content and then tap on the REQUEST AS CREATION ACCESS option. Now search for the creator’s profile in the search option and then tap on SEND REQUEST.

As per Instagram, Branded Content ads in Stories can now include tappable elements, such as @mentions, location and hashtags. “Until today, branded content posts from creators that included product tags were not able to be promoted. Now brands can get more value out of this content that makes it easy for people to shop directly from creators that inspire them,” the blog post said.

Redmi Note 9 5G series to officially launch on November 26
The Chinese smartphone company Xiaomi has officially confirmed that the Redmi Note 9 5G series will launch in China on November 26th. This announcement came just after a screenshot surfaced on the web revealing the launch date. This date was confirmed by the company via Chinese microblogging website Weibo that also shared the poster to reveal the design of the upcoming smartphone. The device has been in the news for quite some time now, Redmi Note 9 and Redmi Note Pro are the most expected devices while the Pro Max is the least speculated ones.
Xiaomi took to Weibo to announce the arrival of its new range of mobile phones. As per the Weibo post, Redmi Note 9 is now confirmed to launch in China on November 26. The company also shared a poster that confirmed three models but it did not mention the names of the phones that might come to the series. Speculations are that the Redmi Note 9 series will include Redmi Note 9, Redmi Note 9 Pro, and Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. All the devices will have 5G support and while the design of the smartphones has also been revealed and it is quite different from the series that was launched in India this year. Instead of a vertical camera set up, the upcoming series will include a circular camera set up that accommodates four sensors as well as a fingerprint camera sensor on the side of the phone. In addition to this, the phones will be offered in shades of Blue and Green.
In the past two of the speculated smartphones, Redmi Note 9 and Redmi Note 9 Pro were spotted on TENAA. The listing did not reveal the SoC but the Geekbench listing suggests it has a Snapdragon 750G SoC. But the TENAA listing states that the phone will be up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. Moreover, there will be a 108-megapixel primary camera and a 16-megapixel front camera set up. The device is also said to include a 4,720mAh battery.

Google Stadia is a gaming platform that lets you play games across screens in short, it is one place for all the ways one plays. Right now, its app is available for Android devices on Google Play Store. And now the company has announced that Stadia is now heading to iOS as a web app instead of a standalone app on the Apps Store.
As per Google’s recent tweet, Stadia will now be supported by iOS and is in the first phase. The tweet reads, “As you might have heard, the first phase of iOS support is coming to Stadia! Stay tuned for more to come.”
So soon a progressive Web app (PWA) of Google stadia will be available on the Web browser. It should be noted that the WPA experience will not provide a Google Stadia app-like experience after Apple’s negation to bring a standalone app. The tech giant has not yet revealed any accurate timeline of the release of the Stadia on iOS but soon it will begin testing the service for the public in the coming weeks or months.
According to the company, bringing a native Google Stadia App to the App Store will violate the terms of its platform which also applies to Microsoft xCloud. Recently the Cupertino-based company removed a web application named Stadium, which allowed users to run Stadia as well as xCloud. Microsoft and other developers criticized Apple over its Apple Store practices, therefore, refused to launch their streaming services on its platform. Taking into account Apple recently made some changes to its App Store Guidelines while loosening some in-app payment rules.
Apart from this Google has plans to bring support for 135 titles and more to its platform however it has already launched more than 80 game titles until now. The list includes popular titles such as Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Borderlands 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Darksiders Genesis, Destiny 2: The Collection, Doom Eternal, Final Fantasy XV, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Red Dead Redemption 2, Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, Watch Dogs Legion, and Wolfenstein: Youngblood among others.
