Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 launched in Germany, will soon come to India

0
Tablets have become more like a technology of the past, with the rise of big screened smartphones. Now it has become rare to see someone with a tablet and rarer to see companies making those tablets.  One of the companies that is still making tablets is Samsung, which has not forgotten the technology. In the past week we got to see what the upcoming flagship tablet from Samsung will look like, the Galaxy Tab S5e. But, now the company has launched their new affordable tablet, the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2019), which is currently launched only in Germany with its Global launch coming soon. The newest tablet from the South Korean tech giant comes in two variants based on its connectivity. There is a Wi-Fi variant of Galaxy Tab A 10.1 priced at 210 euros (approx. Rs 17,000) and the Wi-Fi + LTE variant, which is the higher variant of the tablet priced at 270 euros (approx. Rs 22,000). That is the major difference between the tablets, as both are available with the same configuration. They both come in three colour options – Black, Gold and Silver. We can see it launching in the Indian market in the coming months. Talking about the specifications of Galaxy Tab A 10.1, it will have a 10.1-inch Full HD+ display with 1920 x 1200 resolution and 16:10 aspect ratio. Unlike the flagship tablet of Samsung, the Tab A 10.1 will have thick bezels on all sides. It is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 7904 SoC and has 3GB RAM along with 32GB storage. Its storage can be expanded to 400GB via a microSD card. Its rear camera has an 8MP sensor and on the front it has a 5MP one. It doesn’t have a finger-print scanner, but it does come with face unlock for biometric authentication. Over that, this tablet comes with Wi-Fi, Cat 6 LTE and Bluetooth 5.0 with a battery of 6,150mAh.
Unlike the Galaxy Tab S5e, which will have AKG speakers, the Tab A 10.1 comes with dual Dolby Atmos speakers. Priced under the 20K range, the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 could be a good media device, but some good phones too come in the same price range. So, it will all come down to taste and the need of the user. Huawei P30 and P30 Pro in all likelihood will sport a Full HD screen and latest Android OS

Numerous leaks of the Huawei P30 and P30 pro have emerged in the recent past.  From what we know the smartphones are supposed to come with 5G tech and make their presence at the Mobile World Congress that is just a few days ahead of us. The latest news surrounding the Huawei P30 is that it will be launched in Paris during the end of March. This doesn’t strike us off guard because Huawei has been unveiling its devices in Paris around the same time period. The date for this unveiling in all likelihood is  March 28, 2019. However, since Huawei had plans to launch this phone at the MWC, this sounds odd. Probably only the showcasing will be down at MWC followed by the Global launch in March. A fresh User Agent Profile leak has publicised the smartphones with the codename ELE-L29 and VOG-L29 for the Huawei P30 and Huawei P30 Pro respectively. It reveals that the P30 pair will sport a screen resolution of 1,080×2,340 pixels and come with Android 9.0 Pie. A case render cited by GSM Arena reveals that the Huawei P30 Pro will come in a vertical arrangement along with a dual LED flash on the right. The Huawei P30 Pro will sport a triple rear camera setup with the flash located below it.
There is more information, albeit not more than mere speculations. Both smartphones will come with an under-display fingerprint reader and hence an OLED panel is in the works. They will be powered by Kirin 980 chipset. On the front, there is a waterdrop notch on both the phones that resembles the Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20X. To recall, the Huawei Mate 20X was launched in November last year. The smartphone sports an AMOLED 7.2-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 1,080×2,244 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18.7:9. It runs Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box skinned with EMUI 9. The Huawei Mate 20X has 6GB RAM coupled with 128GB internal storage. With the use of a microSD card slot, the smartphone can hold up to 256GB of additional data. The handset has a triple rear camera setup that comprises of an 8MP, 20MP and a 40MP sensor. On the front, there is one 24MP sensor that is meant for clicking selfies. Zombie Mode will finally arrive on PUBG Mobile on February 19: All you need to know

0
The Zombies have finally come to haunt the PUBG Mobile players. The Zombie mode will be released on February 19 for PUBG Mobile through an update. Earlier this week PUBG Mobile announced that they would be launching the Zombie mode in the Mobile version of the game with the latest update 0.11.0. Maintenance of the game will be taking place on February 18, a day before the update. The Zombie mode is coming to the mobile platform in relation to the Resident Evil 2 release, and the main screen will have Resident Evil’s theme and music. Just like the Halloween theme and the Christmas theme, the Zombie mode will also be a temporary inclusion to the game. There won’t be many new things included in this new update as it is solely focuses on the Zombie mode. The BC to UC conversion, PUBG Mobile Prime and Prime Plus subscription will be as is. The new gun which was to be included in the game, the G63C won’t be available to players, but they can get it by killing bots (computer-controlled players) in the Vikendi map.

PUBG Mobile 0.11.0 update will bring the following additions:

  1. Zombie Mode
  2. New snow area in Erangel map
  3. New dynamic weather in Miramar and Erangel map
  4. Classic commands (voices)
  5. Tukshai for Sanhok map
  6. New death cam feature, it will allow the player to see how they died
  7. Snow bikes in Vikendi map
  8. Vikendi map removed from beta
  9. New dance emotes
Earlier a beta version of the Zombie mode was released and it was received well by the fans, so Tencent Games went with the idea to launch is fully. With the new update, PUBG Mobile will be bringing the Zombies from the Resident Evil series and will let them roam free in the maps of PUBG. Now, the players will have to fight and survive not just other players, but zombies as well. With two types of threat looming in on the players, they will need to keep an eye out and play with a better survival strategy as it plays a huge role in the game now more than ever. You can be killing Zombies and some other players might be zooming in on you with their sniper or you might be ambushing some players and Tyrant (one of the zombies) might be behind you. That’s why, the players will need to squad up and hunt zombies and players simultaneously. As, when in a squad, the chances of survival increase because when you get knocked out your teammate can revive you and you can fight again. With teammates there is always someone to watch your back. After its release the players can taste what the new update brings and maybe the zombies too can taste what delicious brains the players have. That chicken dinner is looking tougher to get in the new mode. Nevertheless, should be fun to play. Xiaomi Mi 9’s camera setup revealed, to be released on February 20

0
Xiaomi’s 2019 flagship will be the Mi 9 and it has been scheduled to launch on February 20. The company has been teasing fans with teasers, looks and specifications of the phone for quite some time. But now Xiaomi went one step ahead to reveal few more details about the phone which includes its camera setup, display and one colour variant of the phone. Mi 9 will come with triple rear camera setup with a 48MP main sensor that has 4-in-1 Super Pixel technology (also known as pixel binning). The sensor will be of 0.8 micron with aperture f/1.75 and will have a 6-element lens configuration. The second camera of the phone will be a 16MP ultra-wide angle sensor. It will have 117-degree FOV (field of view) with f/2.2 aperture. The sensor will also have auto-focus to prevent the pictures from getting blurred. Unlike the main camera, the secondary camera will have pixel size of 1.0 micron and will have a 6-element lens setup. Although the second camera is a wide-angle lens, the company claims that it will support 4cm macro photography. It means that it will be able to take pictures of objects placed 4cm in front of the camera and will capture full-details of the object. Regular phone cameras have trouble focusing objects so close to the camera but company’s co-founder, Lin Bin said that the sensor utilizes an anti-distortion algorithm to make the pictures less blurry and more detailed.
The third camera of the setup will be a 12MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and 1-micron pixel size. It will have f/2.2 aperture and will also have autofocus with 6-element lens configuration. The company also said that the rear camera setup is protected by Sapphire glass so that it will keep the camera safe from scratches. Keeping the rear cameras aside, the front camera of the phone will be a 20MP sensor with AI beautification features. Earlier, Xiaomi released some camera samples of Mi 9 online with pictures from each lens and also revealed the details of the sensors. The body of the phone is also slimmer and almost bezel-less than its predecessor. Its chin is of 3.6mm, which is 40% slimmer than Mi 8. The company’s founder also shared image of the phone in space grey colour option with glossy finish. Aside from the space grey variant the phone will also come in a pink gradient version and a blue gradient version. We should also mention that Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has shared another teaser of the upcoming smartphone on Chinese social networking platform Weibo. Apart from the launch date of Mi 9, the teaser shows that the device will come with 90.7% screen-to-body ratio and will sport a 6.4-inch Samsung AMOLED full HD+ display. The image further reveals that the smartphone’s display will come with a 103.8% NTSC super wide colour gamut coupled with 600 nits of brightness.

TCL might be working on a foldable smartphone that can turn into a smartwatch

After Samsung, Oppo, Huawei and Xiaomi, TCL will be launching its first foldable smartphone soon. This smartphone has a unique quality of turning into a smartwatch. It is one amongst the five foldable devices that the Chinese company is set to launch very soon. These five gadgets include two tablets, one with a clamshell-like inward folding display and the other with outward folding display. Then it will launch two smartphones with inward and outward folding display ability, and the last one as we have already mentioned, which folds and turns into a smartwatch. CNET has access to the company’s renders and patent image filings, via which this news came to light. The images are said to be preliminary and TCL might change its plans, and not release these devices at all. It is unknown as of now, when will TCL release it foldable smartphones. However, a TCL executive has reportedly said that the company’s first foldable device will launch in 2020. Samsung is also planning to launch a foldable device in its upcoming Unpacked event, which is scheduled on February 20, 2019. The foldable screen device, that is reportedly called the Galaxy F is said to cost $1,500 (roughly Rs 1,06,500). If this turns out to be true then it will be the South Korean tech giant’s costliest device ever. Samsung had earlier posted 27-seconds long teaser video on its official YouTube channel. The video which is titled as ‘The Future Unfolds’ confirms that the Samsung Galaxy F can also be launched at Samsung’s Unpacked event on February 20, 2019.
Oppo is also supposed to launch a foldable smartphone, as well as a device with 10x hybrid zoom. Both of these devices are supposed to be unveiled during the upcoming Mobile World Congress. Considering that MWC is ‘Get closer’, we reckon that the foldable device might be incorporated with the 10x hybrid zoom. Another Chinese brand, Huawei will in all probability showcase a foldable smartphone at the Mobile World Congress, 2019. This smartphone is said to come with 5G features. Apart from Huawei, Nubia might also showcase its foldable smartphone during the biggest mobile showcasing. Samsung will no longer be producing new Blu-ray players

Spinning discs have more or less become a thing of past. Accepting this fact, South Korean technology giant Samsung has said that it will no longer be producing its 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray players. For those unaware, the players were mostly used for playing music and videos via discs. Samsung revealed this information to Forbes and it was later confirmed by CNET that the technology company has also stopped the production of some of its 1080p Blu-ray players as well. In a statement given to CNET, a Samsung spokesperson said, “Samsung will no longer introduce new Blu-ray or 4K Blu-ray player models in the US market.” However, we should point out that the company may still produce its existing Blu-ray players for a few months as Samsung has a number of models on sale. Samsung may also have plans for launching new models in regions and countries where spinning discs still aren’t dead. But then, the company has not commented on this yet, so that can mean that all of these are just speculations and Samsung could also mean that it has stopped the production of Blu-ray players for good.
To recall, Samsung became the market leader in this segment when it launched its first player in 2016. But considering that spinning discs are on the decline and they are no longer the way people listen to music or watch movies, we can see why Samsung is quitting on the business altogether. According to research company Nielsen, Blu-ray and DVD players are among the technology products that are on their way out. The research firm’s Q2 2018 report said, “Some devices, such as DVD/Blu-ray players, are in the declining phase of their product life cycle as streaming devices gain prominence.” The report also added that while earlier 72% of watching households had a Blu-ray or DVD player a year back (from the time when the report was released), only 66% of them still have one.

The same report further added that in the United States, an average person spends only five minutes per day using a Blu-ray or DVD player. A big reason for this is that streaming services have become very popular and they have also made 4K streams more affordable than they were earlier. 4K movies can now be bought at the same price 1080p HD now via both Apple and Google, and the two companies also enable users to upgrade their HD movies to 4K for free. Another benefit of using streaming services is the variety that they offer. While we had to hoard numerous discs when DVD players were at the peak of their popularity, now, with a simple subscription we have access to a number of movies and TV shows.

A Banner in Goa warns tourists not to use Google Maps as it shows wrong directions to Baga Beach

Google Maps is infamous for showing wrong directions to tourists who are on their way to Baga Beach. There is a popular, but wrong route that misleads people to a completely different location. Tourists have often taken that route before realising that they have reached a wrong destination when they travelled by that road, using Google Maps. Looking at the situation, recently a banner has been put up in that area and that tells tourists that they have come in the wrong direction. A picture of this banner was taken by someone and posted via Twitter. This picture has gained more than 700 reactions with 213 re-tweets. The banner not only tells tourists that they are going in the wrong direction but also, gives them the correct way to Baga beach. In some of the tweets, people wrote about their personal experiences of how they ended up in the same location before realising that they have come in the wrong direction. One user shared his experience about how, when he was travelling from Delhi to Chandigarh, Google Maps mislead him. The good news surrounding Google Maps is that it is about to come with AR (Augmented Reality) for a better navigation experience. The new feature that will come as a result of this is to be named as ‘Global Localization’. It is supposed to combine Google Street View with Visual Positioning and then bind them with machine learning. Google will soon release a beta version of this update for a few individuals who are local guides. With the help of AR, users will be able to know where they are and in which direction they are facing.
This feature allows users to point their smartphone’s camera to different locations using machine learning and tells users their exact location and name of the place. Also, it shows them which direction to turn to by pointing an arrow towards their destination. At the moment this fiasco needs to be solved by Google. Hopefully, the company has taken note and will rectify the error. Since Google Maps is open software, some registered users can also modify destinations, roads, and areas. It is a possibility, that a local Google guide made this mistake of identifying the right destination. Whatever the case maybe, users are getting lost and are not reaching the right destination. 2019 iPhones revealed to come with enhanced Face ID, upgraded batteries and more

Reports and rumours about upcoming smartphones may give us an insight into what to expect, however, they should never be trusted completely. This is particularly true in the case of Apple, which is known to be the most secretive company in the world of technology. Having said that, we should also add that some of these reports are more reliable than the others. Among these reliable reports are the ones from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who was the first to report about the display sizes and features of iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR. And now, when various reports about the 2019 iPhones have begun circulating online, Kuo has released an analyst note to 9to5Mac and MacRumors, which speaks about the entire upcoming lineup of iPhones. To begin with, he has said that Apple will be launching three iPhones in 2019 and one among the three will sport a triple-rear camera setup. While this information is not new, Kuo further said that the three iPhones will come with the exact same display sizes and sport the same notches on top of their screens.
The note also said that the iPhone XR (review) successor will come with an LCD screen rather than an OLED one. Furthermore, all the three iPhones are expected to come with an enhanced Face ID system, upgraded battery and a frosted glass casing on the back panels. Other interesting features of the upcoming iPhones include an ultra-wideband radio for indoor navigation and bilateral wireless charging, which will enable the smartphones to charge other devices that support wireless charging like the AirPods earbuds. According to Kuo, the much-awaited AirPower charging mat will also be made available for purchase in the first half of 2019.  But he also revealed something that wouldn’t make fans too happy. The 2019 iPhones will come with proprietary Lightning connectors for charging and data transfer, according to the note. So, if you have been waiting for Apple to switch to a UBB Type-C port, you would have to wait a little more. Prior to this, we have seen two sets of renders of the 2019 iPhones surface online. One of them was leaked by Digit.in in collaboration with @Onleaks, and the other one was shared by technology blog CompareRaja.

LG V50 ThinQ to come with Sprint’s 5G Sprint network, to be launched at MWC 2019

South Korean consumer electronics maker LG is all set to launch its V50 ThinQ smartphone at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2019, that is scheduled to begin in Barcelona on February 25. LG V50 ThinQ will be launched along with another much talked about smartphone – G8 ThinQ – on February 24. To recall, the reports of LG working on a smartphone with 5G connectivity first surfaced online in August last year when the company announced its partnership with Sprint. And now, it is being said that this device will be none other than the LG V50 ThinQ. Apart from launching new devices with 5G connectivity, LG will reportedly introduce 5G to its existing V series. Tipster Evan Blass has shared an image of the upcoming LG V50 ThinQ on Twitter, in which it can be seen that the device resembles its predecessor, the V40 ThinQ. Therefore, we speculate that LG won’t change so much of the smartphone externally as much as it will, internally. Some reports have also suggested that the upcoming 5G smartphone will be first be introduced in Korea and will be launched in Europe later. The price of the smartphone is expected to be between KRW 1.3-1.5 million. Previous leaks have talked about the smartphone’s specifications and the latest one has reiterated them.
The LG V50 ThinQ will reportedly be powered by Snapdragon 855 chipset and house a massive 4,000mAh battery. Unlike LG G8ThinQ, the device is going to have a X50 5G modem. We should mention that this is in-line with other 5G smartphones that are expected to be launched this year. Some reports have also speculated that the LG V50 ThinQ will be available in March, around the same time as the Samsung Galaxy S10 X 5G variant. LG V50 ThinQ is also expected to get a wider availability than LG V40 ThinQ. To recall, the LG V40 ThinQ sports a triple rear camera setup which includes two 12MP sensors and a 16MP sensor. The dual front camera setup includes an 8MP and a 5MP sensor. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. Samsung Galaxy M30 with Infinity-U display, triple rear cameras to launch on February 27

South Korean technology giant Samsung launched its Galaxy M20 and Galaxy M20 smartphones in India last month. The smartphones garnered a lot of appreciation for offering powerful performances at an affordable price. And now, Samsung has confirmed that it will be launching its Galaxy M30 smartphone on February 27. The company made the announcement about the launch of Samsung Galaxy M30 smartphone by posting a teaser on its official Twitter handle. Apple is planning to launch a foldable iPhone: Report

The year is definitely going to see some foldable phones getting launched. After Samsung gave the world the first look at its foldable phone at its developer conference in November last year, a number of other companies confirmed that they are working on their foldable devices too. Till now, we know that Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, LG, Lenovo and Motorola will be launching their foldable or bendable smartphones this year. And now, a piece of similar news has come from Cupertino-based technology giant Apple. The company has updated a patent with drawings of a foldable clamshell phone. We should mention that this is not a new patent. In fact, it was originally filed in 2011 and updated in 2016 with what looked like a drawing of an iPhone that has a flexible display. We should mention that this has been updated just days before Samsung’s Unpacked event that will be held in San Francisco on February 20. The South Korean smartphone giant is expected to show its foldable phone Galaxy F at the event, besides launching its new flagship Galaxy S10 lineup.
In the drawings, it can be seen that the upcoming smartphone by Apple will fold in half and looks very similar to the design of Motorola’s upcoming Moto Razr phone that surfaced online a few weeks back. To recall, the new Moto Razr in the designs is shown to be a normal sized full-screen smartphone that can be folded into a compact device that would fit in one’s palm. This was particularly in contrast with Samsung and Xiaomi’s designs that show tablet-sized devices being folded into a smartphone.
Apple patent 3

Coming back to Apple’s patents, it can be seen that the company will be placing hinges and housing around a flexible OLED display in order to make it bend. In addition to this, drawings of a clamshell design and a trifold design have also surfaced online.
Apple patent 2
The drawings show flexible displays folding inwards and outward. This can also mean that the foldable screen may also make its way a MacBook or an iPad, in addition to an upcoming iPhone.

We should mention that these are just patent drawings and in no way does it mean that Apple will be launching the foldable iPhone this year. We cannot surely say when the foldable phone by Apple will be launched until the company officially comments on the same.

Moto G6, Moto G6 Play, Moto Z3 Play begin receiving Android Pie update: Report

0
We have some news for those who own Moto G6, Moto G6 Play or Moto Z3 Play smartphones. Lenovo-owned Motorola has started rolling out the latest Android update for the three smartphones. According to media reports, Moto G6, Moto G6 Play and Moto Z3 Play users in Brazil have started receiving the Android 9.0 Pie update. The update will get a number of new features to the three smartphones including revamped notifications, Adaptive Battery, redesigned UI, improved screenshots and audio controls, enhancements in the handsets’ performance and improvements in optimization. To recall, Android Pie update started rolling out on Moto Z3 and Moto G6 Play last month and now, more smartphones from Motorola‘s range have been getting the update. The report about Android Pie update coming to Moto G6, Moto G6 Play and Moto Z3 Play first surfaced Brazilian media Techtudo.
Considering that the rollout has begun in Brazil, it is expected to soon start in India too. While Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play were launched in India last year, and Moto Z3 Play was not launched in India at all. Users in Brazil have been getting the notification for the update. And if some of the users have not got the notification yet, they can go to Settings > System Updates. Here, the device will show a new pending update, and on pressing ‘Download and Install’, the smartphone will get upgraded to Android Pie. We should mention that the rollout has started on the Moto G6, Moto G6 Play and Moto Z3 Play six months after Google unveiled its latest Android update. The delay goes to show that Motorola is still among the smartphone makers who aren’t offering an effective software update to its customers. OnePlus and Nokia, on the other hand, have truly changed their game as far as software updates go. The report has not thrown any light on the changelog for Moto G6, Moto G6 Play and Moto Z3 Play smartphones. So, it cannot be said if the update has got an updated security patch to the smartphones or not. We should also mention that Motorola has only started rolling out the update to Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play after the launch of the devices’ successors – Moto G7 and Moto G7 Play.

Twitter has silently been saving all your ‘deleted’ DMs

0
If you are active on Twitter, you would know that the microblogging website allows users to delete direct messages of their own side of the conversation. We should mention that this isn’t like deleting messages on WhatsApp, and the recipient still gets the message as it is only deleted from the sender’s inbox. However, a report from security researcher Karan Saini has emerged in technology website TechCrunch, according to which these messages are not deleted at all. So, while senders would feel that they have deleted the message they sent, Twitter has silently been storing all the DMs dating years back. Furthermore, you can also access these messages by downloading archived data on their accounts from the microblogging website. Saini also said in his report that even the messages that users have sent to accounts that have now been deleted or suspended can be accessed.
While Twitter is far from doing what Facebook does to our data, as it is only available to those who sent or received the messages, the fact that it silently saves the messages that it says that it is deleting doesn’t look too good either. It is also worth noticing that Twitter is aware of the issue. In a statement to TechCrunch, the company said that it is “looking into this further to ensure we have considered the entire scope of the issue.” But then, this doesn’t mean that the company will do something to rectify the issue. In an unrelated piece of news, the company is testing a new feature called ‘Profile Preview‘, with which it intends to make it easier for users to keep a track of conversations in long threads. There are times when someone you don’t know comments on your tweet. And if you press on their name to know who they are, you are taken to their profile. While you can find out who they are by visiting their profile, this may also mean that you lose track of the Twitter conversation that you were a part of, especially if other unknown people comment on it too and you individually have to visit everyone’s profile. With the new feature that Twitter is testing, when you press on someone’s name, a preview card will pop out which will give you some basic details about the person like their follower count and when they joined the platform. You can then decide if you wish to know more about them or if that information is enough for you to continue the conversation.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e image leaked online

0
Tablets started becoming a dying breed after smartphones with displays more than 6-inches in size became popular. There are less newer tablets in the markets than there were four years ago. Many tablets came and went but only two companies are still launching the upgraded versions of their tablets every year. We are talking about Apple’s iPad and Samsung’s Galaxy Tab series. The Tab series which is Samsung’s reply to Apple’s iPad might be getting a successor. This will be the next iteration of the Galaxy Tab S4 tablet. The S4 tablet was launched last year and it was Samsung’s flagship tablet. But now, a new leak has surfaced online which is not about the Tab S5, instead it talks about Samsung’s underpowered and budget-oriented tablet named Galaxy Tab S5e. The leak was posted on Twitter by Evan Blass. Just like the Galaxy S10e, Samsung Tab S5e would be an affordable and budget friendly product in the flagship tablet lineup. The image shows that the bezels of the tablet are smaller than the ones on the Galaxy Tab S4. There is a camera at the back of the tablet and also at the front for selfies. The tablet is expected to run the latest Android 9 Pie skinned with One UI. The fingerprint scanner has been moved to the side of the device instead of the back. It is likely that the fingerprint scanner may also work as a power button or a lock/unlock button. The antenna lines of the device are at the top and bottom at the rear of the device. The device also will have magnetic connectors on the side to attach the folio Book Cover keyboard.
Written at the lower back of the device is ‘Sound by AKG’ which could mean that the speakers in the Tab S5e could be built by AKG. Most of the Samsung phones now come bundled with AKG earphones so it is no surprise that the company is developing speakers for Samsung products. But it is still not sure if Galaxy Tab S5e will come with two speakers or four speakers like we saw on Galaxy Tab S4. https://twitter.com/evleaks/status/1096232516229439490 As of now, there is no word on the exact specifications of the upcoming tablet and its date of availability. Vivo to launch a foldable phone under its sub-brand iQoo

Chinese smartphone maker Vivo just launched its sub-brand iQoo in its home-country, and now, the company’s other plans related to iQoo have come to light. It has been reported that Vivo will be launching a new foldable phone under its iQoo sub-brand. The leaked photos of the upcoming smartphone have been spotted on Weibo. According to the leak, the iQoo phone can be unfolded into a tablet. Once opened, the device will feature two screens and when conjoined together, it will form a tablet. In the image, it can also be seen that when the device is folded into a smartphone, it has four icon columns on the screen. Furthermore, it can be seen that the smartphone will come with an almost bezel-less front panel and since there are no holes for the front-facing sensor, it is being assumed that the device would come with a pop-up selfie camera.
The iQoo foldable phone is tipped to be priced around CNY 5,000, which becomes approximately Rs 53,000 upon conversion. However, as of now, there is no word on when exactly Vivo’s sub-brand iQoo will launch the foldable phone. Although the images have surfaced on Weibo, the company has not officially said anything about the launch or availability of the upcoming smartphone. Speaking of foldable smartphones, Samsung is going to launch its foldable smartphone at the on February 20 at its Unpacked event in San Francisco. The foldable smartphone will reportedly be called Samsung Galaxy F and will work like a tablet as well as a smartphone. Previous reports suggest that the Samsung Galaxy F will come with a 7.3-inch display and have a resolution of 1,536×2,152 pixels. Once folded the display of the phone becomes 4.58-inches in size.

Other companies that will be seen launching foldable smartphones this year include Oppo, Xiaomi, Huawei and Motorola. We should mention that Huawei’s foldable phone will come with 5G connectivity and is expected to be showcased at the upcoming Mobile World Congress, that is scheduled to begin on February 25. We should also mention that Xiaomi’s foldable phone’s screen will not fold once like most other phones, but instead would fold twice. The company said that it will take some time before it launches the smartphone because it is currently working on some issues.

Xiaomi confirms that its Mi 9 smartphone will be powered by Snapdragon 855 SoC

0
Earlier today, we had reported that Xiaomi had announced that it will be hosting an event at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2019, that is scheduled to begin on February 25 and will go on till February 28. Right after Xiaomi made this announcement, media reports started speculating that the company is all set to launch the 5G variant of its Mi Mix 3 smartphone. And now, the company has disclosed that it may be working on another device that will come with 5G connectivity. We are talking about the Mi 9 smartphone, that is also scheduled to launch this month. Xiaomi has posted images of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 processor on its official Facebook page. Along with the pictures, Xiaomi has written, “It’s nearly time to witness the true power of the Snapdragon 855. Watch as we #MakeItHappen on February 24 in Barcelona.” This means that Xiaomi is indeed planning to launch a 5G smartphone at the Mobile World Congress. Some may argue that Xiaomi may be talking about its Mi Mix 3 smartphone. However, the smartphone maker has clarified this in its Facebook post by adding, “In August 2017, we established our first R&D Center in the US and quickly began building a close partnership with Qualcomm. We are now set to usher in a new era of mobile technology together by launching #Mi9 with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 processor.” We should mention that the 1+3+4 CPU core setup in Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 processor guarantees a 45% improvement in performance over the Snapdragon 845 SoC and the GPU of the chipset will get a 20% boost. Furthermore, the AI engine of the processor is promised to be three times faster to boot. The CPU adds other enhancements like Qi-Fi 6 support and HDR10+ video (4K at 60fps). And most importantly, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 processor adds support for 5G connectivity.

It's nearly time to witness the true power of the Snapdragon 855. Watch as we #MakeItHappen on Feb. 24 in Barcelona.

Posted by Xiaomi on Friday, February 15, 2019
We should also mention that Xiaomi’s Lei Jun also posted the same images on Chinese social networking website Weibo. However, what he said was slightly different from the Facebook post by the company. According to Jun’s post, February 20 will mark the world premiere of the Snapdragon 855. However, we should mention that this is not true, as Lenovo already launched its Z5 Pro GT in China with Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor.

Looks like HMD Global is going to gain a lot of visibility in the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2019, considering how much the Nokia 9 PureView is being talked about. We have seen a score of leaks that have been tipped about the Nokia 9 PureView and from those, we have a pretty good idea about what the smartphone is going to be like. We reckon, that the smartphone will sport a 5.99-inch QHD resolution 3D OLED display. It is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 845 SoC clubbed with 6GB RAM. The device will also sport an in-display fingerprint sensor. A recent leak has tipped about the smartphone’s penta-lens camera that contradicts the previous reports about the same. However, the latest leak says that all cameras are going to have a similar resolution. Another upcoming smartphone that has been leaked recently is the Nokia 1 Plus. Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+’s latest update brings the much-awaited Night mode

0
It looks like the Night mode or Dark mode, as its popularly called, will be a key feature that apps and UI developers will be putting in their products in 2019. Joining in on the trend, Samsung has begun pushing out updates for its Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ which get the Night mode on the smartphones. The update also has the February 2019 Android security patch along with some system improvements. When Galaxy S9 and S9+ received the stable Android 9.0 Pie update in January, the Night mode feature was absent in it. So, with this new update the phones will be getting the much-awaited Night mode. The update also brings system improvements like Wi-Fi stability boost, improvements to NFC & email and improved hand gestures. The update is of 361.35MB and has the build number G960FXXU2CSB3 for the Galaxy S9 and G965FXXU2CSB3 for Galaxy S9+. Currently, the update is only available in Germany and in the coming weeks it will be pushed out globally.
A dark theme (Night mode) has many benefits than their lighter themed counterparts, for instance, they put less strain on the users’ eyes so they can sleep better. The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ feature a Super AMOLED-display so the night mode will also improve their battery life. The users can now either choose from the default night mode which is scheduled to turn on after sunset and turn off after the sunrise automatically. But they can also choose the custom setting where they can turn it on/off when they wish, on keep it turned on, forever.

The update also brings improved hand gestures so it can register the gestures more accurately. Post the update, when the user pulls down the notification, they wouldn’t see the blur effect. There is also considerable speed-up in the UI and apps department so that they open and work more smoothly now. The Android security issue is also fixed in the update which could allow someone to remotely execute arbitrary code by sending especially designed PNG file. It was a vulnerability which could have been exploited by someone if the user decided to open a PNG file in his smartphone. But currently, there hasn’t been such news.
