Oppo Reno 7 Pro 5G: Rs 39,990 Vivo V23 Pro 5G: Rs 38,999Our Take
In terms of design and construction, both phones appear luxurious and have a distinct form factor. However, we like the Vivo due to its colour-changing design and curved panel, which gives it a more premium feel. Oppo Reno, on the other hand, features a very basic AMOLED flat display, yet both displays offer a 90Hz refresh rate. Vivo also offers a somewhat larger display in comparison. Nowadays, a punch-hole camera cut out design is fairly popular, like Oppo has supplied on the Reno 7 Pro 5G, although Vivo smartphones have a larger notch. But that’s not a problem because it has not one, but two selfie cameras. Yes, it has an extra super-wide selfie camera, which is useful for group selfies. Both the Oppo and Vivo smartphones are equipped with a MediaTek engine, although we would have liked the more powerful and quicker Snapdragon 888 chipset, both phones are capable of handling intensive games. Vivo’s rear camera combinations are also excellent, with a 108MP main sensor, which means you’ll get high-resolution images. We can’t deny that the Vivo V23 Pro’s specifications have surpassed those of the Oppo Reno 7 Pro. There is no significant difference in cost, thus the Vivo V23 Pro 5G is our obvious winner. For us, it is the finest value for money device with top-notch features and a distinctive appearance, thus without a question, Vivo is our recommendation. With a 27 percent year-on-year increase, India’s smartphone industry sales surpassed $38 billion in 2021.

With the Mi 11x series, Xiaomi climbed 258 percent in the luxury sector (>INR 30,000, $400) in 2021.
While Samsung stayed in second place in 2021, despite an 8% drop in shipments year on year. In Q4 2021, however, Samsung was the leading brand in 5G smartphone shipments. Replace Or Repair: Which Is Better For Your Phone?
Smartphones have become a part of our daily life. Almost everybody carries one. These devices are useful to humans, providing capabilities that would’ve seemed impossible 50 years ago. But phones don’t last forever.
Just like any other item, smartphones also require malfunction as they age. Like all machines, the internal components will accumulate wear over time. Furthermore, these fragile devices are vulnerable to external factors, such as knocks, drops, and any other form of impact. In the same way, its software is also prone to malfunction.
Whether a damaged or broken phone should be repaired or replaced will depend on several factors. Keep reading to find out whether your phone should be replaced or repaired.
In This Article
How Badly Is Your Phone Damaged?
A damaged phone can often be repaired, but sometimes it can’t. The nature and degree of damage will play a crucial factor in your decision to repair or replace it. Minor issues such as cracked screens, broken earphone jacks, unresponsive buttons, broken speakers, overheating batteries, and broken microphones can usually be repaired. However, damage that’s cracked the body or broken some internal processing components may be irreparable. If you’re looking to have a phone repaired or to determine whether a repair is possible, you can visit Sydney Mobile and other similar repair shops for help. How Old Is The Phone?
Computers slow down as they age, and a smartphone is just a pocket-friendly computer geared towards communication and data sharing. Furthermore, software and operating systems are constantly updated and designed to run on newer hardware. If you’ve had your phone for a few years, you’ll likely have noticed some functions to slow down even if there’s been no external damage. Generally, after about five years, a smartphone is no longer compatible with newer software updates. In this case, you’ll no longer be able to utilize your phone’s performance due to outdated hardware and software features. In other words, even if you spend money to repair an older phone, there’s a good chance that it’ll soon be too outdated to keep up with the latest ones and perform your usual daily mobile tasks. If that’s the case, it may work out cheaper to replace it upfront, rather than spending money to repair it now just to spend more money to replace it later. Is Your Phone Insured?
If you have insurance to cover the cost of repair or replacement, it’ll make things easier. Some insurance policies only replace a phone if it’s irreparable, which will decide for you. For people who don’t have phone insurance, budget constraints can be another factor to consider with a broken phone. For example, the previous point mentioned a case where it may be better to replace a phone, but perhaps that option isn’t within your budget right now. Once quoted a cost for the repair, you can decide whether it’s within your budget to repair your current phone or buy a new one.How Long It Takes To Repair?
Smartphones have integrated into everyday life so seamlessly that some people can’t fathom being without one. Repairs take time. The phone needs to be diagnosed and then fixed. Sometimes a part may need to be ordered, extending the repair time. Other devices may need to be repaired before they get to yours. On the other hand, you can get a new phone and have it set up within the day of purchase. If you don’t want to wait for a repair, you may decide that a replacement is the better option for you.
Cost Of Replacement vs. Cost Of Repair
Of course, the cost is one of the crucial deciding factors for many people. Repairs are often far cheaper than replacements, so a repair may be worth it. Conversely, repair costs can sometimes be close enough to buy a new phone that it might be worth spending the extra cash for a fresh start. Take the time to find out the current value of your phone. You might not want the cost of repairs to be more than what the phone is worth. Fortunately, brand new units of slightly older models are often still sold. If that’s the case, you may be able to replace the phone with a new phone of the same make and model. When Should You Consider Repairing?
Consider all of the factors above. If your phone is reparable, is recent enough that it’ll continue to support current software, the repair is cost-effective and within budget, and you don’t mind waiting for a repair, then it could be your best option. When Should You Consider Replacement?
If your phone is too broken to be fixed, it can only be replaced. If you consider all of the factors and conclude that a repair isn’t cost-effective, is within your budget, or your phone is old enough that it makes more sense to replace it, then this could be your ideal option. Conclusion
As you can see, many factors contribute to deciding whether you should replace or repair a broken phone. The factors discussed in this article will help you decide which option is the best for your phone. One last thing to remember is that sometimes, you may want an upgrade even if a repair is possible. MIUI 13 features
MIUI 13 adds Liquid Storage, a new system-level approach of controlling how data is kept on devices. Liquid Storage in MIUI 13 decreases fragmentation and actively manages stored data, improving defragmentation efficiency by up to 60%. Unlike other Android OS, the company claims that the MIUI 13 retains up to 95 percent read and write speed giving consumers a “fresh” experience for a longer period of time and extending device longevity. MIUI 13’s Atomized Memory, an ultra-fine memory management approach, boosts speed even further by bringing RAM efficiency to a new level. This feature examines how applications consume memory and categorises a particular app’s RAM use processes as critical or irrelevant. Then it shuts down all irrelevant tasks, letting applications consume memory just for what is now important to you, allowing you to run more apps without sacrificing speed.

Talking about the exteriors first, Aston Martin DBX707 includes a wider front grille, an all-new DRL design, new air intakes and brake cooling ducts, and a new front splitter profile. Dark satin chrome window surrounds and new louvred bonnet blades complement the front grille and gloss black splitter and continue around the sides with gloss black side sills. While the rear has new quad exhausts stand out, as do the carbon-fibre extended rear spoiler and re-profiled winged rear diffuser with aero-vortex blades.
For the interiors, Aston Martin DBX707 comes with an option to select the ‘Inspire Sport’ interior. There is a new rotary switch on the all-new centre console, which provides the driver with rapid access to a variety of freshly configurable drive modes, including a ‘Sport Plus’ mode ‘Terrain’ for off-road driving, ‘GT’ for optimum touring comfort, ‘Sport’ for responsive road driving, and ‘Sport Plus’ for the most intense driving experience are among the five options. Whereas the ‘Individual’ setting allows the driver to customise all aspects of the vehicle, including the suspension, steering, and exhaust.

Telegram Update: Video stickers, better reactions with compact animations and extra emoji introduced
A new Telegram update is rolling out which brings video stickers, better reactions with compact animations and extra emoji, a button to review unseen reactions, improved navigation between chats and more. Telegram users will now be able to make animated stickers from videos. The instant messaging app has also introduced more emojis to their collection.
With the new update, Telegram has introduced video stickers. The users will now be able to create stickers from ordinary videos using any video editing tool. As always, you may use the @Stickers bot to publish your packs — or add some of the new sets created by others. More information may be found in the Video Sticker Manual. The Sticker Import API allows developers to create sophisticated apps for producing and importing stickers to Telegram.
Telegram is also offering better reactions. Press and hold on to a reaction in the menu to deliver a greater effect. Reactions, like interactive emoji, are now synced, so the receivers can view the animations in real-time.
The instant messaging app has also added 5 more additional reactions. These reactions are also available as interactive emoji. Send a single or to any private conversation, then touch on the animated emoji to activate a fullscreen effect.
In addition to this Telegram’s in-app navigation has also been enhanced. To return to a specific chat after bouncing through unread channels or switching between chats, press and hold the ‘Back’ button. When you open conversations through forwarded messages, URLs, usernames, profiles, and so on, they are added to the list.
Finally, with this upgrade, the instant messaging service has provided a slew of bug fixes and enhancements. Telegram has improved call quality, added support for translation to Instant View pages (and bios on iOS), added the option to send silent messages from the sharing menu – and dozens of other improvements. When you press an icon on the tab bar on iOS, you’ll notice new animations.

Fitbit Luxe review: The pricey stunner
Whenever we get a Fitbit device to review, it makes us excited. This time, we got Fitbit Luxe, which is even targeted towards women, so we were all the more eager to find out what the activity tracker is like. We spent almost two weeks with Fitbit Luxe, and here’s our review detailing its pros and cons:
Now, let’s talk about setting up the Fitbit Luxe. It was pretty easy to get started with the device. All you have to do is put it on charging and then download the Fitbit app on your smartphone. Enable Bluetooth and then follow all the steps mentioned on the app. You would have to give some information about yourself, and a few permissions to access notifications and more, and then enter a four-digit number that appears on the tracker to complete the pairing. It was a smooth process and didn’t take long at all. Once paired, the device runs well. We didn’t encounter a problem like seeing characters in a different language or not getting notified about the activity on our phone.
As far as the workout tracking goes, the activity tracker was smart enough to recognize when we started exercising on its own. Fitbit calls this feature as ‘Auto Exercise Recognition’ and, as the name suggests, it helps the device know what kind of exercise is being performed by the person using the tracker. During our time with the device it recognised Aerobics, Walking and Running. The app showed us detailed data that included Average BPM, Time Spent and Calories burnt. It is vital to note, however, that Fitbit Luxe does not support GPS, so for best results, you must keep it close to your phone when exercising, or rather specifically – running. But is it really practical to keep your phone with yourself while running? We don’t think it’s always possible.
The battery life of Fitbit Luxe was decent too, and it lasted a little more than 5 days for us on a single charge, which means that it meets the expectation that the company has set.

Fitbit Luxe review: Design
As far as the design of Fitbit Luxe goes, we found it to be quite nice to look at. It is very compact and is one among the smallest fitness trackers we have come across. In fact, the dimensions of the device are just 1.43 x 0.69-inch x 0.4 inches. While the front is dominated by a 0.76-inch colour AMOLED display, there are charging pins and sensors placed on the back, and they are used for various functions of the activity tracker including heart rate and Sp02 tracking. Interestingly, there are no physical buttons on the activity tracker – something that we quite liked about it as it made our user experience better. The housing of the Fitbit Luxe is accompanied by rubberised straps that are available in four colour options – Lunar White/Soft Gold, Black/Graphite, Orchid/Platinum, and a Gold coloured model that’s touted as a special edition by the company. The one that we got for review was dressed in Black. It is worth mentioning that the body of Fitbit Luxe is water-resistant up to 50 meters and hence, you can wear it while you go for swimming – something we count as a big plus. The display of the device showed all the figures clearly and its sunlight readability was not a problem too. It should also be pointed out that during our time with the fitness tracker, its display never got any scratches. On the downside, the tiny size of the display meant that at times, we had difficulty reading the text, especially the notifications of calls and messages. This was a real problem.

Fitbit Luxe review: Performance
Coming to the performance of Fitbit Luxe, we don’t see any reason for you to not be happy with it. Let’s first talk about what all it can do. Fitbit Luxe tracks your steps, identifies and monitors your exercise and workout sessions, keeps a track of your heart rate, Sp02 level and sleep. In fact, the sleep data that we got was pretty extensive and the Fitbit app showed us the time we spent awake in bed, our rapid eye movement or REM, and Light and Deep Sleep. The time depicted in the stats taken by the tracker were mostly accurate too. We have always maintained that tracking steps is not the best thing to do with any activity tracker or smartwatch because most of them track movement, and Fitbit Luxe is no exception to it. So if you wear it while driving or even finding something in your closet, be prepared to see around 500 extra steps. But besides that, other data like heart rate, Sp02 and even workout was correct. We compared the heart rate and Sp02 stats we got on Fitbit with those on other devices, and it always matched.
Verdict
Although there are a lot of good aspects of the Fitbit Luxe, like its beautiful design, smooth performance, and lasting battery, it also lacks some important features like GPS. Even the display of the device is so small that it can be difficult to read the text at times. There are more affordable options in the market that offer more features. However, if you are a Fitbit fan, then and only then should you spend Rs 10,999 on it. Pros- Beautiful design
- Smooth performance
- Lasting battery
- No GPS
- Small display
- Too pricey for features it offers

According to a source, the Infinix Zero 5G India launch will take place on February 8. The Infinix Zero 5G is the company’s first 5G smartphone, and it’s expected to support 13 5G bands. The company has also begun teasing its arrival through social media platforms but it is yet to reveal the exact timeline of the launch. However, the company’s CEO Anish Kapoor has teased the phone’s design and triple back camera.
According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, the Infinix Zero 5G will be available in India on February 8. Some of the smartphone’s crucial specifications have also been revealed. He claims that the 5G smartphone would be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC. The phone is said to be offering LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. In addition to this, the mobile phone is likely to support 13 different 5G bands and the numbers are even higher than what Samsung offers.
Infinix has already hinted at the phone’s arrival in India via an Instagram post. But Infinix India CEO Anish Kapoor previewed the phone’s design and triple back camera. The executive teased an Orange-colored phone on Twitter, which is thought to be the Infinix Zero 5G. This photograph is identical to the one given by tipster Abhishek Yadav in his earlier tweet. In terms of pricing the device is expected to cost approximately $350 which translates to Rs 26,200. Kapoor, on the other hand, has stated that it will be priced just under Rs 20,000.
Speaking about the specifications, reportedly the Infinix Zero 5G smartphone will run Android 11 with the XOS 10 overlay on top. It might have a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The phone is said to be equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC paired with Arm Mali-G68 MC4 GPU. It will be offered with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The phone is also said to include a fingerprint scanner and a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging capabilities.
For the photos and videos, speculations suggest that a triple rear camera configuration with a 40-megapixel or 48-megapixel main sensor, a telephoto sensor, and an ultra-wide-angle sensor is possible. According to reports, the Infinix Zero 5G will include a 16-megapixel front camera.
Infinix Zero 5G connectivity options may include 5G, NFC, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone port.
