Oppo Reno 6 5G Review: A splendid smartphone in the price segment
In This Article
Oppo Reno 6 5G Review: Design and Display
To begin with, let’s talk about the unique design of Oppo Reno 6 5G. Yes, we call it unique because of its slim form factor. The phone comes with a metal frame that looks premium. The in-hand feel is also good; the handset is not too big nor too small but just perfect for single-hand usage. Interestingly, the device is very light and weighs just 180g even when it has a lot of metal on it. It has flat edges and the case fits very well (which is of top quality).
The rear panel comes with a shimmery effect. We got our hands on the Stellar Black. The triple rear camera module is also not protruding so the phone does not wobble when laid flat on a surface. Upfront it comes with an AMOLED display which plays house to a selfie camera hidden inside a punch hole at the top left corner of the screen. There is Gorilla Glass Protection on the front and AG glass on the back. So it is a combination of both metal and glass design.
Talking about the ports, below there is a speaker grill, a Type C port, a microphone and a SIM card slot. On the left, there are two antenna bands on each corner of the metal frame and a volume button. Above there is a noise-cancelling microphone along with 2 antennas and on the right-hand side there is a power button with a green tinge and yes here also you will see the antenna bands.
Ok now that’s done, let’s talk about the display of the device. Let’s find out if it is as impressive as its design. It features a beautiful 6.43-inch full-HD+ hole-punch AMOLED display offering 1,080×2,400 pixels of resolution. You will get a 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate support with 800 nits of peak brightness on this display. The screen comes with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It should be noted that the Pro version comes with a curved display, while this one has a completely flat one. In addition to this, the screen has an HDR 10+ support along with a 91.7 percent screen-to-body ratio. This is why it has thin bezels on the sides with a not so noticeable chin.
The outdoor visibility is good even in direct sunlight. The 90Hz refresh rate is well optimised and yes there is no lag. The touch display is very responsive and the colours along with details are impressive too.
All in all, it gives you an immersive experience. The always-on display is the cherry on the cake. Although AMOLED panels are energy-efficient, you have the option to turn on the Dark Mode, which provides more endurance. The viewing angles are good and the Widevine L1 support makes it perfect for HD streaming.
Oppo Reno 6 5G Review: Performance and Camera
On the specs sheet, the device comes with impressive specifications. So let’s find out how well the phone performs in reality. The Reno 6 5G is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC, which is based on 6nm architecture. The chipset comes with 5G connectivity and is capable of handling high-end gaming and heating issues with ease. Also, the Mali G68 GPU has been incorporated for impressive graphics performance. While gaming we didn’t come across any drop in performance. All the games like BGMI, COD, Asphalt 9 are playable at medium settings. Surprisingly, there was no heating issue at all during intensive gaming sessions. Apart from a good gaming experience, this handset comes with the ability of RAM expansion. Yes, you get the option to expand the RAM between 2GB to 5GB virtually. This feature is good when it comes to multitasking. Not only this Oppo Reno 6 comes with 13 5G bands, which makes it a future-ready device. Even when it comes to day to day usage the phone is absolutely a great performer.
You can take screenshots with just a three-finger swipe. What’s cooler on this phone is that if you want to take a screenshot of a particular section then in that case just hold the three fingers on the part and simply swipe it down/up slowly the way you select text and it’s done. Over that, if you want that certain part to be translated simply tap on the translate option, which will appear on the screen after the screenshot. You get a lot of options to edit the screenshot which is appreciated.
Also, you get options to customise dark mode as per your liking. You can choose from enhanced, medium and Gentle. Consumers can also choose to select the style of the fingerprint and the overall colours of the UI. All these features give you a more refined flagship-like experience. Though the phone does have some bloatware you can easily uninstall them.
On the imaging front, Oppo Reno 6 5G is highlighted with a triple rear camera set up that includes a 64-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, 2-megapixel macro camera. Upfront there is a 32-megapixel selfie camera.
The daylight images have good details and are well optimised. The colours are punchy and sharp. In portrait mode, the depth created between the subject and the background does not look unnatural. Talking about the low light shots, the night mode works well even in ultra-wide settings. Also, we noticed a minor change in the colour temperature when we switched from standard to ultrawide mode.

Verdict
So here we come to the conclusion of the Oppo Reno 6 5G review. From its design, build to cameras, and battery life this phone is total value for money. Performance-wise there was no lag while multitasking or switching between apps. The games can be played at medium graphics, which doesn’t throttle the performance of the phone. As for the cameras, the still photography was good but it could have been better in the video department. We personally loved this handset for its boxy design and beautiful cameras. You can buy it, it would be a worthy purchase.Pros
- Fast charging
- 5G connectivity
- Sleek design and display
Cons
- Lacks 3.5mm headphones jack
- No memory expansion
10 unnecessary software and apps you should uninstall in Windows 10
In This Article
1. CCleaner
The cleaner application was once the most popular and trusted application for your Windows machine. The application was particularly popular to clear up junk and keep your computer clutter-free. The reputation of the application went downhill when avast accrued it. The application started to force updates in the background without consumers consent. As soon as the application restarted the data collection option gets enabled on its own. There was news in the software industries that the CCleaner itself started to distribute malware unknowingly. There are built-in applications on your Windows to clear up junk files and third party cleaners are not needed nowadays.
2. QuickTime
Quicktime is Apple’s video player service. It’s still running strong on macOS though the company has not provided any update since 2016 for Windows. A company named Trend Micro announced that the software has few vulnerabilities soon after Apple announced the deprecation of the software for Windows. Due to a lack of support by the company those issues were never patched up. Uninstalling QuickTime won’t be any big issue as there are tons of third party players available in the market.
3. uTorrent
The gold standard of downloading a torrent file for a long time. The dispute started when the company was found to be bundling cryptocurrency mining software without letting users have any idea about it. Aside from this uTorrent started to have a ton of ads filled in the interface. Combining all this made the system use a lot of resources in the background just to generate profit for the company. There is less worry for users now as there are many torrent clients available like qBittorrent, which is free and the interface has no ads. The company also pushes regular updates, which are very necessary for any software.

5. Adobe Flash Player and Shockwave Player
The company left the application’s support by the end of December 2020. Even if the flash player has been blocked by all the modern browsers, there are still local files in your system that can result in security vulnerabilities. A similar plugin by Adobe which is the Shockwave player was discontinued by them in 2019. It’s unlikely for you to find any website that supports these plugins. Concluding this, these relics of an era gone are not needed in your computer system and need to be removed as even Adobe isn’t updating or supporting them anymore.
6. Microsoft Silverlight
Similar to Adobe Flash it is also a framework that once was used by many websites that enables rich media content. At the current time, there are only a handful of websites supporting this. Talking about the support by browser, only internet explorer allows this plugin as Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox have left the support for years. Even Microsoft’s own new browser Edge is not compatible with it. There is nothing lost in uninstalling Silverlight as it’s only available in Windows for mere compatibility reasons.
7. Toolbars and browser extensions
There is a very useful extension out there that really helps a user in day to day life. Apart from them come the spamming extensions and unnecessary toolbars. These unnecessary extensions may even attack and take up all your sensitive data from the background. The modern version of popular browsers took action against most of these notorious Toolbars and extensions, however, they are still available hiding over the internet. The best way is to uninstall these toolbars of any kind and tidy up the extensions installed on the browser. Also, keep checking the existing and useful extension too as the owners may have sold it to some shady company.

8. Java
Until one is an Android developer or a developer that needs java development tools it’s not needed to remain in your computer. For others, this is another media runtime software that not many websites use nowadays. The runtime includes two components. The first one being Java on the desktop and the other being the plugin for the browser. It was also found out the browser extension has many security problems. Modern browsers like Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox have stopped supporting both as well. A day to day user won’t feel any difference in browsing after uninstalling these components of Java.
9. Pre-installed apps by manufacturers
Unless one is running Windows own Surface Pro other companies include a lot of their own bloatware pre-installed. Laptops from HP, Dell, Lenovo and Toshiba are highly prone to this problem. Some of them are photo applications, gaming tools and side options for Windows utility tools which are highly unnecessary. Though we advise checking each and every utility provided by the manufacturers as some tools are made to check drivers and update BIOS which is very necessary and come in handy to run your system smoothly and timely update it. It’s always good to double-check before altering company-specific applications.
10. Windows Bloatware
Not only are the bloatware from manufacturers annoying, but Windows also has a fair amount of it. Some unnecessary games and Xbox applications might be useful for some but not helpful to others. The good thing about them is the majority of them can be uninstalled without hassle. Check for the applications installed on the system and watch out for such applications that seem not useful. Again, we advise double-checking for the application one is doubtful for as many applications are essentials.
These are a few applications one should remove from their system as soon as possible to clear up some clutter and get a smoother experience. We also advise users to keep on checking Apps>Apps and feature section on your system to know of any unwanted applications. Users on Windows 8 and 7 can click the start button and search programs and features for a similar list.

In This Article
Sennheiser IE 100 Pro Wireless review: Design
Sennheiser has always been good with its packaging. As soon as you cut open the seal and pull the cardboard tray out of the box you get to see the shiny Sennheiser IE 100 Pro Wireless BT earphones that are tucked in a nice foam encloser. The box also has a 3.5mm auxiliary wire (in case you run out of battery juice) and a USB Type-C charging cable with a small carry case, which reminded us of a similar spectacle case our grandmother used to use. Moving on, the Sennheiser IE 100 Pro Wireless earphones are designed to perfection. They do look like the Sennheiser IE 300 earphones we reviewed recently, but they have a distinct personality. The basic shape of the earphone is the same, however, the enclosure is opaque. You can see the machinery inside. Also, a wire with the battery enclosure on one side and volume with power controls on the other side connects the two.
The Sennheiser IE 100 Pro Wireless earphones fit very nicely in the ear cavity and the adjustable wire end goes behind the ear. With that 2 additional pairs of ear tips are provided in the box (small and large). Overall, the look and design of the audio earphones is very nice, everything about them screams style
Sennheiser IE 100 Pro Wireless review: Performance
Let’s quickly talk about the tech specs of the Sennheiser IE 100 Pro Wireless earphones before we talk about our audio experience with them. This nifty gadget comes with 2 years of warranty, works with any Bluetooth 5.0 driven device, and supports AptX, AAC and SBC codecs. The frequency response is between 20Hz to 18kHz, and the impedance is set at 20 Ohm. The audio neckband also has a microphone for you to make and receive calls. We used them in a couple of Zoom calls on the PC and took it out for a run. Both times we were very impressed. The sound quality is far superior to any BT neckband we have used in recent times. The audio calls were clear and other party could hear us well too. The same is when you listen to music, the bass is perfect and high and lows are very audible. No matter what genre of music we threw at the Sennheiser IE 100 Pro Wireless audio earplugs, Jazz, rocks, EDM, Bollywood et al, they just managed to bring out the best.
Battery life is not bad either. The company claims these can last for 10 hours when fully charges, but we got about 8.5 hours out of them. To fully charge them using the supplied USB Type-C cable it took about 1.5 hours, which some might feel is a bit high, but we suggest you can put them to charge when you wake up and take them with you when you are leaving the house, this way you will get you workday battery life. In case you run out of it, Sennheiser has supplied the users with a 3.5mm aux cable in the box.
Verdict
All in all, we quite liked the Sennheiser IE 100 Pro Wireless earphones. They sound great, they look good, and they never fell out even when we went for a run with them. At Rs 9,899 (Amazon price) these are an extremely good pair of earphones that cancel noise passively and provide superior sound quality.Pro

WhatsApp chat transfer from iOS to Samsung Android feature released: Here is how to do it
So now there is a feature to move all your WhatsApp chats from iPhone to a Samsung Android device. In this process, your messages, such as voice messages, photos and videos, are not sent to WhatsApp. Currently, this feature will be available on any Samsung device running Android 10 or later. According to WhatsApp, this feature will be made available on more Android devices soon. So when you set up a new device, you’ll be given the option to securely transfer your chats from the old device to the new device. This process will require a USB-C type data cable. According to the company only WhatsApp account information, profile photos, chats, group chats, media, and settings are transferable whereas you cannot transfer your call history or your name (display name) visible to contacts on WhatsApp.📱📲 New phone, same memories.
— WhatsApp (@WhatsApp) September 2, 2021
Changing your phone no longer means losing your chat history. Starting today, you can move your WhatsApp history from iOS to Samsung. And soon across all devices. pic.twitter.com/v9WwV3YDJf
How to transfer WhatsApp chats from iOS to Android devices?
In order to migrate from iOS to Android one needs to get the Samsung SmartSwitch app 3.7.22.1 or higher installed on their new device. Also, the old device is required to have WhatsApp with iOS 2.21.160.17 or higher and then it must be running WhatsApp running Android 2.21.16.20 or higher. You must have a USB-C to Lightning cable (or a similar adapter). The same phone number on the new device as you were using on the old device must be used and must have a new Android device or it must be reset to factory settings. So now that’s done, turn on your Samsung device and when prompted, connect to the iPhone via cable. After this follow the instructions on the Samsung Smart Switch app. When you are asked to scan the QR code displayed on the new device with the iPhone’s camera. Now tap on Get started on your iPhone and wait for the process to complete. Continue setting up a new Samsung device. Once you reach the home screen, open WhatsApp and log in with the same number you were using on your old iPhone. The notification will appear and tap Import and let the process complete. Your chats will appear after your new phone has been activated. In This Article
Nothing Ear 1 review: Design
The company has thought about the presentation a lot. Starting from the packaging to the actual earphones we can see a lot of sleepless nights and effort. While strip pulling open the card box exteriors, it reminded us of the Wrigley chewing gum wrapper. In the same manner, you get a red pull apart strip to get to the yummy treasure inside. Once you unbox, you get to see a great looking transparent box of the Nothing Ear 1 earphones.
The top lid has a magnetic clip that shuts easily. Open it and you get to see the wonderfully made Nothing Ear 1 earphones that weigh 4.7 grams. The case weighs another 57.4 grams over it, which also has the battery inside in a sparkling white encasing. Both the earphones are magnetic that are held in place in each cavity in the case (securely). As said, the stem of both the audio earplugs are transparent and one can see a lot of the interior. The top part of the earphones is white in colour with a silicone tip attachment to hold them in place firmly in the user’s ear.
Talking about which, the Nothing Ear 1 come with 3 pairs of silicone ear tips. Small, medium (already on the earphones) and large ones come in the box. With these users also get a USB charging cable. One can use any USB charger to charge the audio plugs via the case. The case has a USB Type-C charging port, a button to turn on BT pairing and an LED light to tell you the battery life etc.
Nothing Ear 1 review: Performance
Coming from the house of Carl Pei, we had very high expectations from Nothing Ear 1. Did it deliver? On most counts, yes, but we can see some teething issues, which we are sure will become better over time. So, let’s talk about the performance of these sound earphones. They have 11.6mm dynamic audio drivers inside the shell that can produce some groovy tunes at a very high volume.
The sound is very good, and bass is something the company has worked on. We for one had very little to complain about here. But when compared to the already dominant Sony and Bose, these were a step or two behind. Nonetheless, that is not a bad thing, as the price segment these are in. You can buy one Nothing Ear 1 for each member of your family, in the same price you get one of Sony’s or Bose’s ANC earphones. The ANC (active noise cancellation) is there in Nothing Ear 1 too, but it is not the best. We would keep it in the teething issue box for now and not emphasise on it much. One can easily pair them with any mobile or even a laptop.
Users get features like in-ear detection, IPX 4 splash resistance and apps for both iOS and Android devices. The app has a couple of equalizer functions and enables the users to customise taps or triple taps. While we are on the topic, the touch sensitivity of the stem is quite nice. Users can slide the finger from top to bottom or vice versa to control the volume on (both) the Nothing Ear 1 earphones. In the same way double tap to pause or play the music and triple tap to skip tracks. Users can also press and hold to turn ANC on or off. Bluetooth 5.2, A2DP, AVRCP and HFP are supported here.
The battery life of the Nothing Ear 1 could have been better. They lasted for 4.25 hours for us after being fully charged. The box does provide additional up to 34 hours of charge, if ANC is off, or 24 hours if ANC is on. But a couple of hours on the earphones itself would have been better for the music of video bingers.
Verdict
All in all, Nothing Ear 1 at Rs 5,999 are somewhat of a disruptor in the Indian market. Good sound, exceptional looks, and almost good ANC in a sub 6K price bracket is worth a pick-up. If you are looking for new earphones that look good and sound great, your search ends here.Pro
