0

Xiaomi has been sharing teasers about its upcoming smartphone in the CC range. The leaks of the smartphone have also been surfacing online and the company has also released an official promo video of the Xiaomi CC9. Now, Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun has said that the CC-series devices are aimed at young and creative people. The company also revealed that Xiaomi CC9 will be launched on July 2.

The announcement was made by Xiaomi’s official Weibo account where an invitation to Xiaomi CC9 launch event was shared. The event will take place in Beijing, China on July 2, 2019.

Nothing much is known about the upcoming Xiaomi CC9, however, earlier leaks suggest that it will come with a triple-rear camera setup. Reports also said that the company will be launching another smartphone in its CC-series named Xiaomi CC9e and it will most likely be a smaller version of the regular CC9.

The name CC seems new even for Xiaomi as it has never released any smartphone with such a nametag. Earlier, the company didn’t reveal what the meaning behind the name was, but the CEO earlier had mentioned that it can mean ‘Chic & Cool’ or ‘Curious & Creative’. We would have to wait for July 2 to know for sure which one it is exactly.

Till now, Xiaomi hasn’t revealed much details about the specifications and the features of CC9. But according to recent leaks, Xiaomi CC9 will sport a 6.39-inch Full-HD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels) AMOLED display. It will reportedly run Android 9 Pie skinned with MIUI. The device is said to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 730 SoC and it will pack a 4,000mAh battery that will come with 27W fast charging support. The handset will also feature an in-display fingerprint scanner.

We already know that the Xiaomi CC9 will feature triple rear camera but there are no official details available about it. However, according to recent leaks, the Xiaomi CC9 will come with a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor. This will be paired with a 16MP secondary sensor and a 12MP tertiary camera. On the front, there will reportedly be a 32MP selfie camera for video callings.

Other features of the new and upcoming Xiaomi CC9 includes IR Blaster, USB Type-C port, and Hi-Res audio support.

Apple is working on a 16-inch MacBook Pro with 4K LCD display and a new CPU: Report

0

Last month, Apple updated its MacBook Pro line up with laptops that have more powerful specifications and better features. Although the company has just updated its MacBook Pro-series, rumours suggest that Apple might be planning to launch a new 16-inch MacBook Pro model this year itself. According to reports, Apple has plans of launching a 16-inch MacBook Pro in September 2019 and it will be powered by a new CPU.

This was first reported by Jeff Lin, an analyst from research firm HIS Markit. According to him, the laptop will be a redesigned variant of the current MacBook Pro model and it will use a new LCD display panel from LG Display. The screen of the new MacBook Pro is reported to have a resolution of 3072 x 1920 pixels – highest in a MacBook so far. The current high-end MacBook Pro with 15.4-inch display comes with a 2880 x 1880 pixels resolution.

Other than that, the 16-inch model of the MacBook Pro will also be powered by a new CPU. However, we should mention that using a new CPU to the 16-inch model of MacBook Pro seems unlikely as the company had updated its MacBook Pro line up last month itself. Furthermore, the new laptops by Apple are powered by a new and powerful processor.

However, if the reports are true and if Apple really launches a 16-inch model of MacBook Pro to its line up, then it will be interesting to see what specifications it will hold and what its price will be. However, considering that the current high-end model of MacBook Pro has a lower screen resolution and an older CPU than the rumoured model, it will undoubtedly be price higher than that.

Other than the 16-inch model of MacBook Pro, Lin also expects that the company will be upgrading the CPUs of the 13-inch MacBook Pro as well as the MacBook Air. There is also a possibility that we might see an upgraded version of the 12-inch MacBook.

Last week, we saw that Apple filed several new MacBook models with the Eurasian Commission database. According to the database, the company had filed seven new MacBook models – A2141, A2147, A2158, A2159, A2179, A2182, and A2251. With the report of the new and upgraded models of MacBooks, there is a possibility that the 16-inch MacBook Pro might be a part of these 7 MacBook along with the 13-inch MacBook Pro and the MacBook Air as well. The company hasn’t revealed anything about the newer models of MacBook that it is reportedly working on, but we will see them at their launch in September 2019.

How to keep your MacBook from overheating?

Apple’s MacBook series laptops are one of the most well-known, popular and thinnest laptops in the market. They come with a great number of features and pack good specifications yet they are light and easily portable. Since their launch, the MacBook-series of laptops have made quite a name for themselves for being light and thin.

Even the high-end MacBook Pro with the latest technology and hardware is still lighter than laptops made by other companies. Each year, Apple makes its laptops thinner and thinner while packing serious hardware. However, being small and thin means that all the hardware is packed in a tight and extremely small space. All the hardware that is used to build it – motherboards, CPU, GPU, SSD, RAM and other elements – will be smaller in size than their regular version and will be placed in a tight compartment.

But it should be noted that all the elements and hardware of the laptop produce heat. The closer they are to each other, the more concentrated the heat will be. That’s where the fan of the laptop comes in use. The fans inside the MacBook/ laptops are used to disperse of the heat so that it is channeled out of the device itself through vents.

Although the fans might handle some regular and easy tasks the user throws at the laptops and keep the machine cool, but there are times when even the fans won’t be able to disperse of all the heat the laptop/ MacBook generates. When a MacBook/ laptop overheats, it is more likely to fail and stop working. So, here are the ways in which you can prevent your MacBook from overheating:

  1. Make sure you don’t cover your keyboard or put anything over it when the MacBook is running in closed-lid mode. It will most likely cause the system to turn on/off repeatedly. Other than that, it will also drain your battery and generate heat.
  2. Shut down your MacBook at night to let it cool or set it on Standby mode.
  3. When using actively during the day time, set it to Standby mode when not in use. This will cool the device and save considerable amount of battery and reduce the heat produced from the MacBook’s internals.
  4. When putting it in a bag and while travelling, make sure that your MacBook is always turned off.
  5. Don’t put your MacBook on a cushion when working as the soft surface might hamper the airflow vents. When a MacBook is put on a soft surface or a cushion, the rear vents of the device get blocked and this, in turn, generates heat.
  6. Close all the apps and software not in use as they seem to tax on the MacBook’s RAM and CPU.
  7. When using a heavy and taxing program/software, try not to run other heavy programs in the background as it will cost RAM and processing power of the MacBook and will produce heat.
  8. Most importantly, clean the air vents of the MacBook on a regular basis as dust gets accumulated on the vents quite easily. The dust when left without cleaning hampers the airflow of the machine.

Huawei will be launching a new tablet in the Indian market in the coming weeks

0

Last week, Chinese technology company Huawei launched a new series of smartphones in its Nova 5 series – the Nova 5, Nova 5i and the Nova 5 Pro. All the devices were launched by the company in its home country. Following the launch, a number of leaks say that the company will be coming with a new Huawei Nova 5i Pro that will have more powerful specifications. But now, a new leak suggests that Huawei will be bringing a new tablet series in the Indian market in the coming weeks. Although not much is known about the new tablet from Huawei as the word is not official yet, the images of the new offering are out and they show the device in its full glory.

Huawei’s new tablet’s images come from a popular leakster Ishan Agarwal and he claims that the company will be releasing a series of tablets in the Indian market. However, there is no mention of the names of the tablet, the series, the price point or the launch date of the device.

The images of the Huawei’s tablet suggest that it will sport a large screen with thick bezels on all sides and feature the company’s logo on the bottom bezel. There is a single camera placed on the top bezel on the front with no LED flash. On the right side of the tablet, there is a power button along with the volume rockers. On the back, there is a single rear camera placed at the top left of the device. However, the details about these cameras are currently not known. There is also the Huawei branding on the centre of the back panel that seems to be made out of plastic/ polycarbonate. At the bottom of the tablet are the two speaker grilles placed on either side of the device.

Other than the volume rocker and the power button, there is no other button on the tablet. The offering even comes without the home button. Even the back is devoid of any fingerprint sensor so there is a possibility that the device will not have the fingerprint scanner at the back or the front. With the design and the built of the tablet it seems like an entry to mid-range device and if that’s the case then it is highly unlikely that the company will place an in-display fingerprint scanner on the device.

Other than the physical aspects of the new Huawei’s tablet, there is a possibility that the device may run Android 9.0 Pie skinned with EMUI. If these devices will run on Google’s Android platform, then it might be a problematic for the potential users who purchase these devices because of the trade ban between Google and Huawei. There is a high possibility that the upcoming tablet from Huawei will not receive support and software updates as a result of the trade ban.

But how and when the Chinese smartphone maker plans to launch its new tablets in the Indian market will be seen in the coming weeks. Seeing that its competitor Samsung has already launched two new tablets in the Indian market today – Galaxy Tab S5e and Galaxy Tab A10.1 – the competition has toughened up for Huawei’s upcoming device even before its launch.

PUBG Mobile Military Base: 12 tricks you need to get the chicken dinner

PUBG Mobile is one of the popular games today. The best thing about the game is that every few months, we get new modes and setups to survive in. Currently, all PUBG Mobile fans are trying to survive the Military Base. Here, we have listed down 12 tricks that will help you get your chicken dinner in PUBG Mobile Military base. Take a look:

Hop from one building to the other instead of using stairs

PUBG Mobile Military base 2 (2)

Instead of going down from one building, running across the field and then entering the other one, you can hop from one building to the other too. You may directly land on the roof, and even if you don’t and instead land on the stairs, you will end up saving a lot of time.

A trick kill your enemy from a different room

PUBG Mobile Military base 3

Stand in front of a wall and aim with your weapon. Then move your joystick towards the wall. This will show your enemy’s location if he is hiding towards the place you are facing. If you spot an enemy, you can repeat the trick to shoot them too. This can be used in instances like when your enemy is behind a door or inside a container. You can go to an adjacent room and kill them using the trick even without facing them.

Climb over doors to locate enemies

PUBG game (2)

A cool trick to know your enemy’s location when you are fighting inside a building is by climbing over doors. Your enemy wouldn’t expect you to do this, so most likely, they wouldn’t even notice you when you do it. Once you spot them, just head over to their location and kill them.

What to do if an enemy hides behind a door that can’t be broken

PUBG Mobile mistakes 8

There are some doors in PUBG Mobile that cannot be broken by firing on them. In such cases, there is no need of using your weapons and then bring frustrated about the door not being open. Instead, just throw a Molly behind it to lower your enemy’s health. Then, you can go and attack them.

Use different ways of climbing a building

zombies mode 7

You can jump over walls that are connected to the building twice to climb them to get to the building. Another way to get to the roof is by first climbing on the spaces above the doors and then reaching jumping on the roof. Once you climb up, you will get an advantage of killing your enemies.

Land on the tower next to the C building

PUBG game (4)

Instead of landing on buildings, or the ground, you can also land yourself on the tower next to the C building. You will get quite an advantage as far as easy kills go because you would not be seen easily on the tower. However, make sure you land yourself properly. If you spot an enemy on the other side of the tower, you can run down and go to the other side, climb the stairs and kill them in a surprise move by attacking from behind.

What to do if your enemy is hiding on the second floor of a building

season 7 3

If your enemy is hiding on the second floor of a building, there’s no point heading to that floor using the stairs. Instead, rush out of the building, use the same wall trick we mentioned earlier to climb the roof and they head to your enemy’s location to shoot them from behind.

Climb the main door of C building to get easy kills

pubg mobile season 7 game

Open the door of the C building and climb it up. Get into a stable position and stay still. As soon as your enemy enters, you can kill them as you will be in a perfect position to do so.

Hide behind machines to kill your enemies

PUBG Mobile 0.11.5 beta update starts rolling out: Here’s everything that’s new

In the military base mode, you will find various machines inside buildings. You can easily hide yourself behind them as this will serve as a good place to kill your enemies.

Try entering the building in different ways

PUBG game 1

You can try landing directly on top of the building when you jump. This is the easiest way to go about it, provided you get a safe sport. If approaching the building from outside, use the bushes surrounding it to enter it instead of using the door as your enemy will expect you to do that.

Make sure you have cover

 mistakes 9

Finding cover and laying low can really get you far when playing PUBG Mobile. The bushes around the buildings can be used for this, but then, don’t bank on them to save you for long. As we mentioned earlier, machines are a great place to hide. But make sure you don’t stay at once place for too long. The longer you stay, the more is the probability of you being spotted.

Look out where you drop

zombies mode 12

It is observed that 70% of deaths in the military base are through windows and hideouts. Landing on top of buildings is very important as it gives you access to weapons quicker than the others. Once you get access to any weapon head to the window of a house and look out for players that are running in the open. Unlike other landing spots, Military Base has a lot of open space which makes it easy for enemies to spot you while you are running. The C shaped building is an ideal recommendation as they are closely connected and has decent loot.

Microsoft working on it’s ‘Surface’ foldable device: Report

0

Since last year, we have already seen Samsung Galaxy Fold and Huawei Mate X foldable smartphones get unveiled. However, as of now, both are from their launch dates. We would be right to say that there is still time in foldable devices becoming mainstream. A few months back, Microsoft was reported to be interested in the segment too. Now, a new report has surfaced online that claims that the software giant will be releasing its foldable handset later this year.

According to a report by the Forbes, Microsoft is working on a foldable device and it will be a part of the company’s Surface series. The report also quotes research firm HIS Markit saying that unlike other Surface series devices, Microsoft’s foldable device will not run on Windows 10. Instead it is expected to run a new software. This software will be a new version of UI with optimization for dual display support.

Other than this, Microsoft is also working on a new Windows Core operating system that is said to be especially optimized for the foldable devices with dual screens. The OS is reported to be compatible with the Android and iCloud applications and services. So, there is a chance that the upcoming foldable device from Microsoft will run the same operating system.

Speaking more about the new Microsoft’s foldable device, it will sport a large 9-inch screen (when unfolded), so it will be as big as a tablet. The device will also be powered by an Intel Lakefield chipset and will support always-on connectivity along with 5G. The report comes after the US-based technology giant gave a demo of its new dual-screen Surface hardware. There is no official name of the foldable device from Microsoft yet, however, according to The Verge, the prototype model has a codename and it is called Centaurus. The new project Centaurus is similar to the company’s own Courier tablet concept.

Other than this, reports also claim that Microsoft is developing a new Surface device that could be carried in a pocket. Although it is a rumoured device but it carries the codename Andromeda. Currently, there is no news about the launch or other details of both these two prototype conceptual devices, but we might see them sometimes in the future.

In an unrelated piece of news, Lenovo announced the world’s first foldable PC featuring a 13.3-inch OLED 2K LG display panel with an aspect ratio of 4:3. Similar to other foldable devices, Lenovo’s foldable PC can be folded in half like a regular laptop, and when opened, it looks like a large tablet. The device is set to launch next year in 2020.

OnePlus 7 Pro latest update improves its camera performance

0

Chinese technology company OnePlus recently launched its OnePlus 7 Pro. After its launch, the handset has been receiving regular software updates. Now, the company has rolled out a new update that improves the performance of the camera of the device. OnePlus has been working hard to improve the imaging credentials of the device.

One Plus 7 Pro is packed with one of the most powerful camera setups and sports a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor, an 8MP telephoto lens and a 13MP wide angle lens. The handset’s processor – Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 – makes sure that all these work well.

However, some users have complained about the camera performance on the OnePlus 7 Pro. The company earlier also rolled out an update that was meant to solve some key photography-related issues. Today, a new update has been rolled out that makes the colours in the images look more accurate than they did earlier. This update has been issued as some users said that colours in images captured by OnePlus 7 Pro were not as bright as they ideally should be.

The problem with the white balance uniformity of triple cameras has also been upgraded with the latest update. The company has also improved the quality of autofocusing by improving the camera’s accuracy and stability. In low light scenes, the camera was facing an issue that showed some green tint in the images. Post the update, this is also no longer visible. Noise in HDR scenes has also been fixed. Contrast and colour saturation of ultra-wide lens has been enhanced and the images reportedly look much brighter now. The problem of graininess in shots taken in low light conditions via the telephoto lens has also been fixed. The company claims that users will get very good results even when they zoom beyond the 3x optical zoom. Clarity and colour of shots taken in nightscape have been upgraded.

As mentioned earlier, OnePlus 7 Pro was launched in India last month. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC and it packs up to 8GB RAM. The smartphone houses a 4,000mAh battery and runs Android 9 Pie with OxygenOS baked on top. It is one among the few smartphones to come with a 48MP camera and up to 12GB of RAM.

The device comes in three storage variants – 6GB RAM/128GB storage has been priced at Rs 48,999, 8GB RAM/ 256GB storage that costs Rs 52,999 and 12GB RAM/ 256GB storage that bears a price tag of Rs 57,999.

Huawei’s Nova 5i Pro leaked schematic reveals a quad rear camera setup

0

Huawei Nova 5i Pro leaked images recently surfaced online, adding more credibility to the rumors of the launch of the device. Now the smartphone’s schematic has surfaced on the internet and it has revealed that the handset will be unveiled in a few days and will sport a quad rear camera setup. According to the schematic, Huawei Nova 5i Pro will house a hole-punch display and its back panel will come with a fingerprint scanner and an LED flash. However, as of now, there is no word on the specifications and features of the smartphone.

The images have been leaked by a famous tipster Evan Blass on his Twitter account. According to the images that have been shared, it can be seen that Huawei Nova 5i Pro will sport four sensors that will be placed inside a square-shaped module, similar to the Mate 20 Pro. The device will be accompanied by an LED Flash and a fingerprint sensor at the back.

This means that the back panel of the Huawei Nova 5i Pro will be very different from that of its younger sibling that has a vertically arranged triple camera set up along with macro lens and LED flash.

The Huawei Nova 5i schematic also reveals that the device’s display will have a punch hole and an earpiece. Apart from that, it will come up with a volume button, a power key, a headphone jack, and a USB port. It is expected that the Chinese technology giant will be launching the Huawei Nova 5i Pro in a few days or maybe weeks.

Last week, the company launched it’s Huawei Nova 5, Nova 5 Pro, and Nova 5i in China. However, the smartphone manufacturer did not reveal about its plans for its Nova 5i Pro. The new handset is expected to come with better specifications and features than Nova 5i.

According to the Chinese retailer JD.com website, the device will be launched in two colour variants – Green and Black. The Nova 5i Pro’s schematic looks completely different from the images that were leaked earlier.

The newly-launched Huawei Nova 5, Nova 5 Pro, and Nova 5i smartphones will be powered by the new HiSilicon Kirin 810 SoC chipset. The processor packs two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.27Ghz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.88Ghz that will be paired with Mali-G52 GPU. The most affordable among these handsets cost CNY 1,999, while the most high-end one was priced at CNY 3,799. There is no word on when these will be launched in India.

WhatsApp to get a new feature in its Picture-in-Picture mode, currently being tested in beta: Report

0

WhatsApp is known for adding new features to its platform time and again. It particularly known to add features that make the lives of its users easier. However, like any other popular app, before WhatsApp launches a new feature for its iOS or Android platform, it gets them in the beta version of the app first. This is because the feature is tested in beta version first and once the company is sure that there are no bugs in the update, it gets rolled out to everyone.

Earlier this year, WhatsApp rolled out the Picture-in-Picture or PiP mode for the iOS and Android version of its application. Now, a new reports claims that WhatsApp is testing a new feature for its PiP mode that will let the users minimize the video chat screen itself so that they can chat with others at the same time. However, this feature will be exclusive to Android.

In other words, it will allow the users to continue chatting with other people without disconnecting the video call itself. The video calling screen will get minimized and the users will be able to switch and surf other WhatsApp chats.

The report first surfaced on WABetaInfo and it says that WhatsApp is tweaking its PiP feature for the Android users. It is currently being tested on the Android Beta version 2.19.177 and although it is in its testing phase, it is expected to be rolled out to the stable version of the app as well. The reports also mention that the new feature looks complete but the exact timeline of its arrival is not known. As of now, there is no word on the availability of this feature for the iOS users.

Earlier, WhatsApp added a number of new changes to its platform, and the Picture-in-Picture mode was one of them. The platform also got features like in-app web browsing with which the users won’t have to exit WhatsApp to go to a link sent to them by their contacts. With the arrival of in-app browsing, the users can click on the link to open in WhatsApp itself without leaving. This month, WhatsApp also started testing a new feature on its beta Android version that would make the picture sharing experience easier for the users. Although the feature is not currently available for the stable version, it is expected to come to WhatsApp for Android in the coming weeks.

Huawei Mate X launch confirmed for September 2019

0

Chinese technology brand Huawei unveiled its Mate X foldable smartphone earlier this year. The company had announced that Huawei Mate X will be launched in June 2019 for the masses. However, after Samsung Galaxy Fold’s issues were discovered, the company took a lesson out of the incident and postponed the release of the 5G-enabled foldable device.

Vincent Pang, President of Huawei’s Western European Region told TechRadar about the delayed launch on Friday last week. He said, “The company has used the last few months to improve the P-OLED screen on the device to prevent it from getting caught up with the same problems that Samsung had with its foldable smartphone. The device is coming in September.”

According to Pang, the company was testing the device to see that the Huawei Mate X doesn’t run into the same problem as its competitor Samsung Galaxy Fold. That’s why, they were testing the smartphone’s screen and folding mechanism that were the major cause of problems for the Galaxy Fold. Huawei said that it is being “cautious” with the release of its Huawei Mate X and its shipments after the Samsung’s offering was found to have more than one issues.

To recall, Samsung’s Galaxy Fold was unveiled in February this year and was supposed to be made available to the masses in April. Prior to the release date, the company distributed the smartphone to YouTubers and popular technology reviewers, and that is when problems with the display of the device came to light. The handset stopped working once the protective covering that looked like a plastic film was removed. The folding hinge on the foldable smartphone also did not work properly in some units. This was the reason that the South Korean technology giant had to postpone the launch of the Galaxy Fold indefinitely.

Coming back to Huawei Mate X, it has gone through extensive testing and it also has received the mandatory Chinese 3C product certification system under model number TAH-AN00.

Huawei Mate X specifications

Huawei Mate X sports a 6.6-inch AMOLED display on the front while there is a 6.38-inch screen on the back. It is powered by HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC paired with Mali-G76MP10 GPU. The foldable smartphone packs 8GB of RAM paired with 512GB of internal storage. The Huawei Mate X runs Android 9.0 Pie skinned with EMUI 9.1.1 and packs a large 4,500mAh battery with Super Charge support.

On the camera front, the Huawei Mate X features a triple-rear camera setup that comprises of a 40MP main camera paired with a 16MP sensor and an 8MP camera. Huawei Mate X comes with 5G connectivity and it has a Balong 5000 5G chipset that is capable of supporting 2G, 3G, and 4G networks as well.

Microsoft bans slack use for its employees: Here’s why

0

Software giant Microsoft has prohibited its 100,000+ employees from using the free version of Slack due to security concerns. In fact, the technology giant has an entire list of prohibited apps and services and it has even discouraged the use of Amazon web service and Google Docs in the company. We should mention that Amazon competes with Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform and Google Docs competes with Microsofts’s Office 365 service.

In addition to this, the company has also added the popular grammar checking tool – Grammarly – to its list. Microsoft has said that these services need to be banned for employees in order to safeguard its own Intellectual Property (IP).  The company has stated, “Slack Free, Slack Standard, and Slack Plus versions do not provide required controls to properly protect Microsoft Intellectual Property (IP). Existing users of these solutions should migrate chat history and files related to Microsoft business to Microsoft Teams, which offers the same features and integrated Office 365 apps, calling and meeting functionality. Learn more about the additional features that Teams can provide your workgroup. Slack Enterprise Grid version complies with Microsoft security requirements; however, we encourage the use of Microsoft Teams rather than competitive software.”

While there is no restriction on employees from using Slack Enterprise Grid, we should mention that because it is a paid service, most would opt for Microsoft Teams.

Speaking about Grammarly, the company said, “The Grammarly Office add-in and browser extensions should not be used on the Microsoft network because they are able to access Information Rights Management (IRM) protected content within emails and documents.” This is the biggest security concerns which led to the ban of Slack, Amazon Web Service, and Grammarly. It is not very surprising that the company has also banned the use of GitHub. The company has warned it, employees, not to use the cloud version of GitHub to share any confidential information, specification and codes via the service.

Slack has been among the biggest competitors of the company so it does not want any of its sensitive data to be exposed. According to an IPO document Slack recorded Microsoft as its primary competitor. That’s not all. Microsoft also launched a free version of its Teams in order to rival Slack better,

While the list of services that Microsoft has banned and the reasons behind the ban make complete sense, the employees will have to use them to make sure that their own services offer better features and upgrades.

Samsung Galaxy A90 may be launched in the new Galaxy R-series: Report

0

Samsung has launched a number of smartphones in its Galaxy A series this year and the most high-end one among them is Galaxy A80. The device is the first ever in the world to sport a rotating camera. Although the smartphone still has not made its way to India, reports about Samsung working on the Galaxy A90 smartphone have started surfacing online. It has been reported that Samsung Galaxy A90 will come with specifications that are even more advanced than Galaxy A80’s.

According to a new leak, the upcoming smartphone may come with the model number SM-A908N and will be released in the new Galaxy R-series. In addition to this, reports also claim that Samsung will be testing the 5G variant of Galaxy A90 smartphone in the South Korean market and this model will pack dual rear cameras.

The report about the Galaxy A90 comes from popular tipster OnLeaks. As we mentioned, according to OnLeaks, Samsung Galaxy A90 will be launched in Galaxy R series. It has also been said that the company plans to launch two handsets in the Galaxy R-series and both the devices will come with a big screen and triple rear cameras.

Out of the two smartphones in the Galaxy R-series, one will come with support for 5G connectivity. On the other hand, the other is expected to come with a new and unique camera feature. But considering that we have already seen pop-up selfie camera modules and rotating sensors in 2019 smartphones, Samsung is expected to do something that’s never been seen earlier.

Another report from GalaxyClub claims that the Samsung smartphone with the model number SM-A908N will be tested in the company’s home market. The device is expected to come with 5G connectivity and will have the Galaxy A90 5G name tag. However, there is a possibility that the company might launch the device without the 5G connectivity with the name tag other than Galaxy A90. But then, tentatively, it is only being called Samsung Galaxy A90.

There is not much known about the Galaxy A90 5G till now and there is no news about the internal specifications, the camera setup and other features of the device. But reports do mention that the Galaxy A90 will come with a 32MP rear sensor on its main camera and it will be paired with an 8MP secondary lens.

Samsung has planned to launch the new Galaxy A80 in the Indian market in the coming weeks. The specifications of the device along with its features have officially been put on the Samsung’s India website ahead of the launch. The company has also put a “Notify Me” button on its page which the users can click to get notified about the more details about the Galaxy A80. Although Samsung hasn’t given an official launch date of teh device, it is expected to be launched in June 2019 itself.

This is how slow iPhone sales may change Apple’s laptops and tablets

Cupertino-based technology giant Apple has taken a number of steps to combat slowing iPhone sales. While it is looking for ways to revive it, at the same time, the company reportedly also has to alter its strategy for its products because of it. A report that has surfaced online recently claims that more devices by Apple will now come with high-end OLED displays. However, it is also being speculated that the company is taking this step in order to satisfy a penalty that it owes to Samsung Display, its OLED supplier.

According to reports, Apple failed to buy enough number of iPhone screens from Samsung Display to fulfil its contract. The report first surfaced on ETnews and said that because of the repayment, Samsung’s OLED screens may make their way to Apple products that never sport them earlier. A report in AppleInsider further said that these products may include tablets and notebooks.

Various industry sources have said that this may be a way for the two technology giants to settle the dispute. While it may be a little too early to say if this will actually happen, it could perfectly make sense if it does.

The Cupertino-based technology giant touted the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max to come with high-end OLED displays, however, the sales of the two smartphones have been slowing down and now, Apple required other devices to put these screen in order to fulfil its contract. We should mention that other companies have used OLED screens on their notebooks and tablets in the past, Apple has not taken this step yet.

It is worth noticing that Samsung Galaxy Tab S tablet garnered a lot of appreciation for its OLED display, and so did Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga.

Speaking of Apple, we don’t know as of now when exactly we will get to see OLED screens in the company devices even if the technology giant does have plans of using them in their notebooks and tablets. We should point out that according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, future revisions of the MacBook Pro, that is rumoured to launch in 2021, and iPad will be using mini-LED screens. So, we may have to wait longer than that to see OLED displays on Apple’s laptops and tablets.

On the other hand, some reports are also speculating the possibility of Apple using OLED displays on iPhone XR‘s successor. These reports also originated after Kuo first talked this iPhone being released in 2020, along with the 5G smartphone from Apple. For those unaware, Kuo has a very good track record of accurately predicting Apple’s moves.

It should make perfect sense for Apple to go ahead with the plan of using OLED displays on the iPhone XR successor because as of now, the device is one among its best-selling smartphones. So, customers would be happy to get OLED screens on a relatively affordable iPhone and Apple will also be able to make peace with Samsung at the same time by doing this.

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has admitted his ‘greatest mistake’

0

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates is one among the most successful entrepreneurs that the world has seen and he held the position of being the richest man for many years. However, this doesn’t mean that he has not made mistakes in his career.

Speaking at an event that was hosted by Village Global, the Microsoft co-founder admitted that there is a mistake that he still regrets – and it is letting technology giant Google take the opportunity to launch Android operating system.

Gates also spoke about how “the software world, in particular for platforms, are winner-take-all markets.” He spoke particularly about Google‘s operating system saying, “The greatest mistake ever is the… whatever mismanagement I engaged in that caused Microsoft not to be what Android is.”

He further added, “That is, Android is the standard phone platform – non-Apple form – phone platform. That was a natural thing for Microsoft to win.”

Elaborating it further, Gates said, “It really is winner take all. There’s room for exactly one non-Apple operating system, and what’s that worth? $400bn that would be transferred from company G to company M.”

However, the tech entrepreneur also said that while Microsoft is “very strong” in spite of the error, had the mistake not been made, the firm would have been “the leading company” instead of “a leading company.”

At the same event, Gates also talked about the sacrifices that he had to make regarding his work/life balance when he was just starting out. He revealed that back then, he did not even believe in the concept of weekends and vacations.

He said that he later relaxed his mind-set a bit. He said that once he reached his 30s, he could “hardly even imagine how I had done that. Because by then, some natural behaviour kicked in, and I loved weekends.”

We should mention that it was in 2005 that Google acquired Android for $50 million. It was one of the acquisitions of the technology giant that turned out to be immensely successful. As of now, Bill Gates is the second-richest person in the world, according to the Forbes. His net worth is $102.9 billion and he was succeeded by Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos after holding the title of the richest man in the world for multiple years.

It has also been speculated that Gates only slipped to the second position on the world’s richest list because he is very actively involved in charity and even has his own philanthropy organisation.

The benchmarking platform also revealed that the device will run on Android 9 Pie. This is definitely an upgrade from the Samsung Galaxy M30 that was launched with Android 8.1 Oreo.

The new Samsung Galaxy M30s comes with a model number SM-M307F, and it was spotted on Geekbench. The spotting reveals that the device will be powered by the Exynos 9610 SoC rather than Snapdragon CPU. Comparing it to the original Samsung Galaxy M30 which ran on Exynos 7904 SoC the new Samsung Galaxy M30s CPU is definitely an improvement. The Galaxy M30s’s Exynos 9610 CPU reportedly clocks at 2.3GHz on its highest rate and it comes paired with a fairly powerful GPU – the Mali G72 MP3.

Talking about the benchmarking performance of the Samsung Galaxy M30s, it scored 1,680 on the single core and 5,211 on the multi-core tests on Geekbench 4. Comparing it with the scores of the original Samsung Galaxy M30, these are definitely higher. And there is no doubt that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy M30s will offer a better performance than the regular Samsung Galaxy M30.

Samsung Galaxy M30s spotted online

There is a possibility that the device will be called the Samsung Galaxy M30s and it will come in multiple RAM and storage variants similar to the regular Galaxy M30. The benchmarking shows that the device packs 4GB of RAM, but it might also come in a 6GB RAM variant. What upgrades it packs over the original Samsung Galaxy M30 and what improvements and changes it brings will be seen once it launches in the market. But considering that the 4GB RAM variant of the Samsung Galaxy M30 costs Rs 14,990 and the 6GB RAM variant costs Rs 17,990, it will be interesting to see what price the upgraded Samsung Galaxy M30s will have.

OnePlus TV launch “might be soon”: Report

0

Chinese technology brand OnePlus has already created a huge fan base in markets across the world by offering premium and flagship features in the mid-range segment with its offerings. While till now the company has majorly focussed on smartphones and earphones, reports suggest that OnePlus will be launching a smart TV way sooner than we expected it to.

To recall, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau had announced last year that the company does have plans to enter the smart TV segment. In May this year, when OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7 were launched, the company was expected to give more information about it, however, it maintained silence on the matter.

Now, a leak has surfaced online by renowned tipster Ishan Agarwal and it suggests that the launch of the OnePlus TV “might be soon.” In his tweet, Agarwal said, “Have some good news for you all: The OnePlus TV is not very far away, at least according to one source. The launch might be soon, so stay tuned. I have very high expectations from it, what about you?”

We should mention that according to Agarwal, unlike other premium TVs, the television from OnePlus would not sport an OLED screen.

With the launch of a new television, the Chinese technology brand says that it is aiming to build a connected future. Speaking about the upcoming offering, Lau had said, “I dream about a time when technology is truly seamless, an effortless part of your life without being the focus. As other consumer electronics have evolved and improved our lives, televisions have remained conventional and cumbersome.”

Lau also hinted that OnePlus will be developing an AI-based digital assistant for its upcoming smart TV. The new offering by the company is said to come with premium and high-quality hardware, a smooth user experience and much like other products from OnePlus it is expected to sport a minimalistic design.

As of now, there is no word on the specifications of the OnePlus TV. Speculations suggest that the new television will sport a 4k display with support for HDR and come with an in-house AI based assistant that will be a lot like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Some reports also suggest that the digital assistant on the OnePlus TV will come with a more visual element.

Considering that the technology brand already has scores of fans across the globe, it wouldn’t take much to get people interested in the upcoming TV. However, only time will tell whether or not it manages to create a mark.

Google Pixel 4 spotted in a transparent case, will reportedly come in black, white and mint colour variants

0

We see smartphone leaks all the time, but it is rare for a company to leak its own upcoming smartphone months before its launch. Google did just that as it leaked the rear design of its upcoming flagship smartphone – the Pixel 4 that is scheduled to launch later this year. Before Google’s leak, several other leaks had surfaced online about the Pixel 4’s design and camera placement. The California-based tech giant confirmed some of those leaks – like the camera placement.

But the leaks about Google’s upcoming flagship, Pixel 4 just keeps on coming instead of slowing down, which is a surprise nonetheless. The most recent leaks of the Pixel 4 reveal the three colour variants the smartphone might come in. Reportedly, there will be a black and a white colour option of the Pixel 4. Some reports also claimed that there might be a mint coloured variant of the Pixel 4 as well. Other than that, there was also a live photo of the Pixel 4 leaked where a person was holding the smartphone’s prototype unit. But now, another emergence showcases the Pixel 4 placed inside a clear and transparent casing.

The new leak of Pixel 4 inside a transparent case just shows the outline of the original device but one is not sure if it will be the final product or not. At the back, the square camera placement is visible on the top-left corner of the smartphone and it is similar to Google’s leaked image. While on the right side one can see the power button and the volume rockers of the Pixel 4.

By the cuttings of the transparent case, there might be two speaker grille along with a USB port at the bottom of the Pixel 4. But the most important thing is that the smartphone case also has a 3.5mm headphone jack at the top. This means the Pixel 4 might be keeping the headphone jack. But unlike the previous Google Pixel devices, the Pixel 4 won’t be coming with the coloured power buttons it was known for.

Before this, the leaked dimensions of the Pixel 4 stated that the device will have a thickness of 8.2mm and with the camera bump it will be of 9.3mm, adding a hump of 1.1mm. Since the design, renders and the case of the Pixel 4 has already been leaked it isn’t far when the feature details, specifications and other camera details of the smartphone come to light. But since the launch of the Pixel 4 is still months away, nothing is certain if Google will maintain the same design concept or will it change.
