Search giant Google keeps on adding features to its various services that make them more useful for users. And now, according to reports that have surfaced online, the technology giant is testing some new inbox features like pinned messages, reminders and category bundles.
According to 9TO5Google, “a screenshot shared by a Redditor today (Saturday) claims to show an internal build of the revamped Gmail for Android with the new features.”
Last year in September, an addition of bundles was announced by Google to help users deal with multiple messages at one time. This is an organizational feature that was first introduced back in 2014 that gets similar emails together so that users can archive them in mass or expand it to go through them.
The report further said that if the screenshot shared on Reddit is reliable, the technology giant is working on reminders that users will be able to create and schedule quickly. In addition to this, the ability to only show pinned items in the feed will also be added.
To recall, in 2018 Google rolled out the revamped version of Gmail. Since the service has started, this was the biggest overall that it received and it added features like Smart Reply, Email Snoozing, Nudges that remind you to follow up with an email, Scheduling emails, and hover actions.
Among these, Smart Reply and Scheduling emails are two features that were awaited for since a very long time and most of the features that Google rolled out to Gmail last year have been appreciated by the masses.
The report that talks about the upcoming features, says that the Reddit user also mentioned that ‘there is still plenty of work to be done’. It also went on to say that the screenshot represents only one among the ‘different design iterations’ that was worked on and that it’s very early to talk in detail about these changes.
In an unrelated piece of news, Google has announced that it will now officially be closing down its social networking platform Google Plus on April 2 this year. All the profiles and pages on the social networking platform will be deleted on the same day, and because of this, Google has also shared information on how people can save their data before it’s gone forever.

Samsung has been alluring the fans since last year with its concept foldable phone. The phone is assumed to be named ‘Galaxy F’ smartphone and is expected to launch in the ‘Galaxy Unpacked’ event on 20th February. A teaser video was posted by Samsung Vietnam this week which showcases the Galaxy F, however, it was taken down shortly afterwards. But then, by then it had been downloaded and re-uploaded by other channels on YouTube and the video gives fans a good look at the futuristic foldable phone by Samsung.
Samsung Galaxy F comes with a screen which is flexible and folds like a notebook, and the company calls it the ‘Infinity Flex’. The device has a 7.3-inch display that comes with 1536×2152 pixel resolutions and a smaller secondary 4.5-inch cover display with 840×1960 pixels resolution.
Coming back to the video, it spans over a minute and shows the upcoming Galaxy F opening up like a folder with screens on both sides. The phone acts as a smartphone when folded but when one opens it, it turns into a tablet. Last November, the company unveiled its foldable phone at its developer conference.

Samsung has planned to launch its foldable phone later this year. During the ‘Unpacked’ event when the company will release the Galaxy S10 series they are also planning to announce the full spec sheet and probably the price of the foldable phone as well. Since last year, the company has been very discreet about the foldable phone. There is no doubt that the phone will come with powerful specifications and will have a price tag higher than Samsung Galaxy Note 9 or the iPhone XS Max. Several reports suggest that it may even be double the price of these smartphones.
But still, the foldable phone by Samsung will be a device that will break the typical smartphone cast and it may also pave a way for future handsets. It will entirely change the way a smartphone is supposed to be and look like.

Nintendo Switch, a portable gaming console launched by Nintendo in 2017 has been a hit among fans since it has been launched. Before launching Switch, the company was on the verge of bankruptcy, but after its release, Nintendo stayed afloat. The Japanese company announced that it has sold more than 32 million units till date with the sales number increasing rapidly. This confirmed two things: First that portable handheld consoles are what the consumers wanted, and secondly, the Switch will eventually be going to dethrone the Nintendo 64, which is the most sold console of Nintendo.
So, following the first conclusion and to boost sales of consoles, the company is planning to develop a smaller and cheaper version of Nintendo Switch. This version will be even more portable than the Switch. According to a report by Nikkei, the newer and smaller Switch will probably not have some of the features that the original Switch has. Earlier in October, a rumour had surfaced that Nintendo was developing a new Switch that won’t be a successor to the original Switch but it will serve as the product’s smaller version to streamline the product portfolio.
There is also a possibility that the plastic dock of the original console could be dropped in the smaller and cheaper version of Switch. Reports also suggest that the screen could get smaller and the company could make the controller a part of the console to justify the cheap price. The original Nintendo Switch has removable joy-cons and screen which could be connected to the screen easily. The dock itself is sold by Nintendo for $90 and it uses USB Type-C which is, of course, universal.
Just like Nintendo 2DS, which was a cheaper version of Nintendo 3DS, the company could revamp the whole console to make it like its predecessor but with fewer features. The newer cheaper console could be the way to increase the sales of the company. We should mention that although the Switch is doing very well, the company now needs to launch a new product for its fans. Last year, Nintendo reportedly sold 17 million Switch consoles.

The report further says that Sony Xperia XZ4 will sport a massive 52MP primary camera. Yes, you read that right. The other two sensors of the smartphone will have a 16MP lens and a 0.3MP ToF lens.
Interestingly, an image of the upcoming device has also been shared on Instagram which has the watermark of @LEAKS Viet Nam. While the image surfaced on Instagram before the report surfaced online, it confirms that Sony Xperia XZ4 will come with a triple rear camera setup. However, we should mention that the image or the Instagram post shared by a handle called sonycommunications does not specify if it is the Xperia XZ4 or Xperia XZ4 Premium that has been featured.
https://www.instagram.com/p/Bs-YVecg27k/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=19p8rigb8qntu
It is worth noticing that this is not the first time that Sumahoinfo has reported about Sony’s upcoming flagship smartphone. It has previously been reported that Sony Xperia XZ4 will feature a large 6.5-inch OLED display that will come with an aspect ratio of 21:9. The smartphone will reportedly be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 855 processor, that will be clubbed with 6GB of RAM. We should also point out that Sony Xperia XZ4 will reportedly house a 4,000mAh battery that is expected to give a backup of a day.

Skip the intro by changing the URL
You can skip the introduction of a YouTube video by the number of seconds you wish to, by simply changing the URL of the video. However, we should mention that you cannot specify minutes for doing this and it only works for seconds. So, if you want to skip 1 minute and 30 seconds, you have to mention ’90’ in the URL instead. Coming to the URL trick, let’s say you wish to skip the first 10 seconds of a YouTube video, so you will add ‘&start=10’ to the end of the URL of that particular video. Similarly, if you wish to skip 50 seconds, you would add ‘&start=50’ to the end of the URL.
Share links to any part of the video
Do you want to show your friend something really cool that you saw on YouTube but don’t want them to waste their time watching the entire video? You can send them the link which makes the video start exactly where you want it to. You can do this by pausing the video at that particular time and then right-click on your mouse to choose Copy video URL at current time.
Do things more quickly with these keyboard shortcuts
There are a number of keyboard shortcuts that you can use on YouTube. For instance, ‘k’ can be used to play/pause videos, ‘j’ can be used to rewind 10 seconds, ‘1’ can be used to fast-forward 10 seconds, and ‘m’ can be used to mute. Furthermore, hitting any number between 1 and 9 will take you to the respective percentage of the video (like 6 will take you to the spot where 60% of the video has been played).
Say bye to the age-restriction
If you have come across an age restricted video in YouTube, but still want to go ahead and watch it, you can do so by removing ‘/watch?v=’ from the video’s URL and then open it without logging in.
Download videos from YouTube with this URL shortcut
If you like a YouTube video too much and would like to download it, you can do it just by a very simple URL trick. Just add ‘pwn’ before the URL of the YouTube video and press enter. You will be taken to a service that will let you download the video in a number of formats. While this trick is a very simple one and can be used for any and every video, we should also say that one shouldn’t download any copyrighted videos.
Play a video on an indefinite loop
You can play any video on YouTube in an indefinite loop. For doing this, you have to press the right click button on your mouse and select the ‘Loop’ option. The video will start repeating itself indefinitely.
Have a slow internet connection? Set default video resolution to suit it
In case you have a slow internet connection at home, you can avoid having to wait for the video to buffer. For doing this, go to ‘www.youtube.com/account_playback’ and click on ‘I have a slow internet connection. Never play higher-quality video’.
Look for your favourite #Artist
By searching for your favourite artist with a hashtag in YouTube’s search bar (Eg- #beyonce), you will get a collection of videos related to them. You can do this on desktop, mobile website as well as the YouTube app.
Sing karaoke
Do you love to sing along YouTube videos of your favourite songs but you can’t remember the lyrics? Install the Musixmatch browser extension, which will add lyrics to YouTube videos as they play. So now you know what to do to have a superb karaoke party at your place!
Make GIFs from YouTube videos
Did you just come across a YouTube video that is worth making a GIF of? You can actually do this by adding ‘gif’ before the URL of the YouTube video. You will then be taken to gifs.com, where you can create gifs with a variety of effects. The service also allows you to directly share the GIF on your social media profiles or to download it. However, we should mention that videos that are too long may not work too well with this shortcut.

Energizer, the battery manufacturing company, has surprised everyone by announcing that they are launching smartphones of their own. Furthermore, the battery manufacturer will be unveiling 26 models of smartphones at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 in Barcelona.
Energizer has also announced that its smartphones will come with features like pop-up selfie cameras, foldable displays and will house humongous 18,000mAh batteries. However, we should mention that all these features come in different devices, as all the smartphones will come with different specifications and only a few handsets among the 26 will have these features.
Besides these new features, there isn’t much known about the specifications of any of the smartphones that the company is planning to launch at MWC 2019, which is scheduled to begin on February 29. According to a report in GSMArena, the flagship devices of Energizer – Energizer Ultimate U620S Pop and U630S Pop – will run the P70 and P22 MediaTek Helio chipsets respectively.
Both the smartphones will have dual front sensors which will be present on the devices as pop-up cameras with a 16MP main lens with a 2MP depth sensor lens. The U620S Pop will have triple camera setup at the back with 16MP, 5MP and 2MP sensors. The smartphone will come with 6GB of RAM coupled with 128GB of storage. However, the Energizer U620S Pop will be released in July this year. The second flagship of the Ultimate series, the Energizer U630S Pop will have 4GB of RAM paired with 64GB of storage and this model will be launched in June, a month prior to the U620S Pop.
The 26 phones lineup which Energizer are planning to release will be part of four lines, which are Power Max, Energy, Ultimate and Hardcase. Most of the phones of this huge lineup will have basic features and will be in the basic feature phone category. These will come under the Energy and the Hardcase lines. While the Power Max line will have an enormous 18,000mAh battery, which will be the largest battery to be ever used in a smartphone. There will be another smartphone in the Power Max lineup with 16,000mAh battery — the Power Max P16K Pro.
And the Ultimate series will have the flagships model of the company and will sport pop-up cameras and teardrop notch displays, according to a report by 9to5Mac.
The rumored foldable phone by Energizer might just be a concept but it may end up giving competition to foldable phones by Samsung, LG and Huawei. However, as of now, there is no information available on it. We will update you as we get to know more.

A few backs, Motorola created a stir among its fans when reports about the company’s plans to launch its iconic Motorola Moto Razr flip phone surfaced online. The Lenovo-owned company will reportedly showcase the revamped version of its iconic smartphone from the 2000’s at the Mobile World Congress 2019, which is set to begin on February 25.
And now, some images of the upcoming smartphone that have been created by designer Sarang Sheth have surfaced online. The images show the Moto Razr 2019 with a foldable display and it will come along with a mini display that will be outside the handset.
We should mention that the design that has surfaced online large resembles the Motorola patent that the company filed last year. To recall, the patent explored the possibility of the Razr phone coming with a foldable display. And Sheth’s designs show a single-lens camera placed beneath the display of the smartphone on the outward portion of the device that will appear when the handset will be folded.
But then, there is a change that you should know about. When you unfold the smartphone, you will not be greeted by the good old T9 keyboard that was present on the original handset. The Moto Razr 2019 will instead open into a full touchscreen display. So, the foldable device from Motorola will be different from the foldable phones from the likes of Samsung. While Samsung’s Galaxy F is a candy bar phone that can be unfolded into a tablet sized device, the Moto Razr 2019 is a palm sized handset that opens into a normal sized touchscreen smartphone.
We actually like Motorola‘s concept better because what Samsung is doing may prove to be too chunky for some people’s taste. And besides, not everyone wants to carry a tablet sized device with them.
However, we should mention that as of now, everything about Motorola’s upcoming Moto Razr smartphone is just speculations, as there is no official word from the company about it. We are waiting for the Mobile World Congress 2019 to begin so that we can finally know what Motorola’s foldable phone will look like as a number of reports have claimed that it will be showcased at the event.

Chinese smartphone brand Vivo is all set to launch its new smartphone(s) on February 20 in India. It is being speculated that the devices that the company will be launching are Vivo V15 and V15 Pro. From the invite sent by Vivo, it can be concluded that the two smartphones will come with a pop-up selfie camera, just like the one we saw on the company’s NEX smartphone last year.
As the launch draws closer, more and more reports about the Vivo V15 and V15 Pro smartphones are surfacing online. Recently, it was reported that the smartphones will come with a 32MP selfie camera and following this, the promotional poster of the launch also got leaked online.
And now, a new report has surfaced on 91mobiles, which throws light on the detailed specifications of the upcoming Vivo V15 Pro smartphone. Here’s a look at the specifications which, according to the report, have been shared by a company employee who wishes to remain anonymous:
Although there is no word on the screen size of the Vivo V15 Pro, it will reportedly sport a Super AMOLED display and will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 675 processor, which was launched in October last year. The report also said that the processor will be clubbed with the Adreno 612 GPU, which is said to come with enhanced graphics-capabilities.
For imaging duties, the report said that Vivo V15 Pro will be capable on clicking images with 48MP resolution. We should mention that the images will be captured in 12MP resolution and the smartphone will use pixel binning technology to capture them in 48MP resolution. So, there is a possibility that the smartphone will use Samsung’s GM1 sensor, which is the same sensor that Xiaomi used in its Redmi Note 7 smartphone.
Furthermore, the report also says that the primary camera of the smartphone will be coupled with an 8MP and a 5MP sensor and the triple rear camera setup will also have Super Autofocus capabilities. And as we mentioned earlier, the smartphone will come with a 32MP selfie camera
Another thing that the report confirmed was the presence of an in-display fingerprint scanner on the upcoming smartphone.
Previously, it has been reported that the device will be available for pre-booking in India starting February 15th and it will be priced in the sub-Rs 25,000 category.

Apple is backlashing at Facebook over issues of privacy. Apple revoked a set of testing tools that Facebook uses in order to ensure apps are ready for use on Apple iPhone and iPad. This move even closed down internal apps that Facebook employees use every day. Facebook tried to breach the rules set for Apple’s App Store by paying users to share personal data. These users also include teenagers. Facebook had to shut this programme down after TechCrunch reported about it. Albeit, Facebook defended its move by saying that users had given their personal data on the basis of their choice.
The social networking giant also said that in case of teenagers, they had parental consent. Facebook has taken a hit after Apple took measures against it. Though the move doesn’t impact distribution for consumers through the app store, it could still mean delays to new version including the main Facebook app. After Apple shut down Facebook, it led to turning off of the internal Facebook apps that are used to run the company. Facebook paid users between the age of 13 to 35 years, an amount of $20 a month to install Facebook Research App. This app helped it to track phone and web usage habits.
A Facebook spokesperson has gone on record and said, “Key facts about this market research program are being ignored. Despite early reports, there was nothing ‘secret’ about this; it was literally called the Facebook Research App. It wasn’t ‘spying’ as all of the people who signed up to participate went through a clear on-boarding process asking for their permission and were paid to participate. Finally, less than 5 per cent of the people who chose to participate in this market research program were teens. All of them with signed parental consent forms.”
Facebook has constantly been criticised due to the breach of users’ privacy. To look back, one major data breach took place last year when Cambridge Analytica obtained information of millions of Facebook users through a third-party app.

Apple has pulled app-development tools from Google after the Cupertino-based technology company reached the conclusion that the search giant broke its rules, according to a report in Bloomberg.
It is worth mentioning that Facebook‘s app development also had to face this for around 24 hours when its app was found paying teens $20 in order to get full access to their phones. Since Apple takes its users’ privacy very seriously, it didn’t go down too well with the company. However, we should also point out that Facebook gained back its access a day later.
Coming back to Google, its employees are not able to access test versions of iPhone apps that they are making, according to sources quoted by Bloomberg. One of the sources reportedly added that security alerts are limited too.
Speaking on the issue, a spokesperson at Google said, “We’re working with Apple to fix a temporary disruption to some of our corporate iOS apps, which we expect will be resolved soon.”
An ‘enterprise certificate’ is offered by Apple that helps some companies work on creating iPhone apps without going through the usual app review process. And this was used by technology giants Facebook and Google to collect data about user activity for their research. It is worth noticing that the two companies stopped this after TechCrunch reported about it earlier this week.
When Apple pulled Facebook’s certificate, it said that the social networking giant broke its rules. And now, it has done the same for Google to punish the company, which makes it apparent that it considered the search giant to be guilty too.
We should point out that when Apple pulled the enterprise certificate of the two companies, the public versions of their apps were not affected. However, the companies’ important app development work must have been completely disrupted. And considering that most Google employees use Android smartphones, the move was harsher for Facebook. But then, what Facebook did was also far more invasive in nature as compared to Google.
According to the report in Bloomberg, Apple has told BuzzFeed’s editor that it is working with Google to “reinstate their enterprise certificates very quickly.”

Chinese smartphone brand had earlier confirmed that it has been working on a foldable 5G smartphone and thereafter, it also announced that it will be launching the device at MWC 2019. Huawei has now taken to Twitter to share a press invite that is scheduled for February 24, 2019 in Barcelona, which is a day before the Mobile World Congress begins.
It is also worth noticing that Huawei’s launch will be four days after Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event, at which the South Korean technology giant is expected to launch its Galaxy F foldable phone.
The image that has been shared by Huawei on Twitter shows what appears to be a foldable smartphone’s hinge. So, it is safe to assume that the company is keeping its promise of launching the 5G-enabled foldable smartphone at MWC 2019 in Barcelona.
The Chinese smartphone brand had announced its plan to launch the device later this month in January this year. Reports have also suggested that the foldable phone by Huawei will be powered by the company’s HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC and the Balong 5000 modem.
To recall, reports about Huawei working on a foldable smartphone had first surfaced online in the fourth quarter of 2017. Another report claimed that Huawei has plans of beating Samsung in the race of foldable phones by launching its device before the latter’s. However, since Samsung has already hinted that it may be launching its foldable phone at its Galaxy Unpacked event on February 20, Huawei will not be able to do that now.
Coming back to Huawei’s device, it is expected to feature a 7.2-inch display and the company will reportedly produce around 24,000-30,000 units of the smartphone. However, there is no word on how many units will arrive eventually.
A number of smartphone companies are expected to unveil their foldable phones this year. Besides Samsung and Huawei, LG, Motorola and Xiaomi will also be seen launching their respective foldable phones this year. Cupertino-based technology company Apple will join the foldables bandwagon a year late in 2020, according to various reports, as the company has no plans of launching a foldable device at its September event this year.

The Oppo K1 that was launched in China back in October, 2018 is coming to India next week. To be precise, it is launching in India on February 6. The device is one of the smartphones which come under the Rs 20,000 price segment. The 4GB RAM variant of Oppo K1 was launched with a price tag of CNY 1,599 which is Rs 16,900 (approx.).
On the other hand, the 6GB RAM variant comes at a cost of CNY 1,799 that is roughly Rs 19,000. Since there is a high possibility of the smartphone to be under the Rs 20,000 price segment, it is going to give a tough competition to phones within this budget from Vivo and Nokia.
Especially, considering that the smartphone is powered by Snapdragon 660 SoC and has a 25MP selfie camera, it is going to be a formidable competitor against other brands within the same budget segment. The Oppo K1 measures 158.3×75.5×7.4mm and weighs 156 grams. It sports a Super AMOLED 6.4-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1,080×2,340 pixels. The screen aspect ratio is 19.5:9 and it is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The Oppo K1 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo skinned with ColorOS 5.2.
The internal storage option of 64GB is on both the variants. In terms of camera, there is a dual rear camera setup that comprises of a 16MP and a 2MP sensor. Connectivity options include WiFi 802.11, dual-band, WiFi Direct, hotspot, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, microUSB 2.0 and USB On-The-Go. The Oppo K1 comes with a non-removable battery of 3,600mAh and comes in three colour options. These include blue, red and silver green.
This would be the first launch of the year for Oppo India in 2019. The company has had a great 2018 with lot of good launches. With the new launch, will it be the start the company wants for 2019, we will get to know in some time.

An engineer who used to work in Apple Inc. has been arrested on the grounds of supplying classified information to China. The name of the culprit is Jizhong Chen and was caught when another employee reported that he saw the engineer take photographs of a sensitive work space. Chen was found recently to have applied for a job at a China-based autonomous vehicle company. After he was caught, he was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment and was charged with a fine of $2,50,000.
The US has reportedly accused China earlier for encouraging trade secret theft in order to build its own industry. NBC Bay Area reported, “Apple Global Security found thousands of files containing Apple’s intellectual property, including manuals, schematics, and diagrams, photographs taken inside an Apple building and an assembly drawing of an Apple-designed wiring harness for an autonomous vehicle.” The report also quoted Apple which said, “Apple takes confidentiality and the protection of our IP very seriously and we are working with authorities on this matter and are referring all questions to the FBI.”
To recall, during July, 2018 another Apple employee, Xiaolang Zhang was accused of trying to leak trade secrets to China-based XMotors and was arrested by federal agents. Also, Apple rusticated over 200 employees in different parts of the company—from its electric car project code titled “Titan”. More news is centred around Apple. The Cupertino based tech giant is going to get rid of its Lightning ports and incorporate USB-Type C in the devices which are going to launch soon. It has already incorporated the USB-C port for iPads and laptops. Now, it is only left to launch it for iPhones.
Though this news has just been announced, it might take some time for Apple to establish the new port in its upcoming iPhones. One strong reason is that it has made a lot of money from selling devices with Lightning ports. So, it won’t harm to keep selling and earn more of the same and wait for a longer duration before it releases the USB-Type C port. Coming back to the scam, this is the second time an Apple employee is being arrested in 6 months, where the first one was Xiaolang Zhang who, as mentioned, was arrested in July, 2018.

Cupertino-based technology giant Apple was recently introduced to a bug in FaceTime that enables users to listen and see other people’s video calls even before their call is accepted. The company has acknowledged the bug in FaceTime and has tried to reduce the problem by disabling conference calls on the service. However, before this privacy issue came to light, a 14-year old Fortnite player from Arizona had found the issue while playing the online game with his friends.
The boy, named Grant Thompson was reportedly playing Fortnite with his friends on January 9 when he decided to call his friends so that they could speak to one another while playing the game. When he dialled his friend’s number, he was able to hear him talk to someone else even when his friend had not answered the FaceTime call. Thompson told his mother about the issue who then warned Apple about it via emails. And all of this reportedly happened a week before the news of the FaceTime bug became viral.
We should mention that iPhones were not the only device that was affected by the bug. In fact, all Apple devices that have FaceTime including iPads, Macs and iPods were affected by the security lapse. After the flaw became public, the company had temporarily shut down the FaceTime feature,
Michele Thompson, the boy’s mother, was not sure herself if it was just a glitch or a bug in the system. She tried it out herself, but once she was sure, she wrote to Apple about the issue. After sending the mail, she tweeted to Apple, sent the company Facebook messages and called the support line too. She even sent a fax to the general counsel with her company’s letterhead. It was only after a week that she uploaded a video talking about the flaw on YouTube.
Thompson was told by an Apple representative that she would have to register as a developer to report the bug to the company. Once she did that, she did get a response from Apple on January 23, however, the company didn’t say anything about how it plans to fix the issue.
It is worth mentioning that Apple had introduced the group Facetime feature in October 2018 with iOS 12.1. Apple has promised to roll out a patch to fix the security flaw this week. Till it is fixed, the group Facetime feature would not work.

Air Quality in India has gone from poor to bad to worse. The problem is not just one, while most parts of the country choke thanks to the stubble burning in large quantity. There are a lot of other factors that constitute to the rising PM 2.5 levels and unbreathable air. Some of them include constant digging, construction and vehicle smoke in the cities. Factories and industries also spurt a lot of harmful smoke in the air, which keeps the air quality around us in a bad state.
It is highly important to keep the air quality at a breathable level around you. Today we are listing three air purifiers, which will take care of your surroundings at home, in the office and even when you are travelling in your car. Also, it is a good idea to keep a humidifier in the room where you keep the Air purifier, so that the air does not get too dry.
Samsung AX3000 (Rs 10,990): Built for small to medium sized room, this air purifier from Samsung has 3 step filtration process. Yes, not only does it look good, but it also cleans well. It can trap ultra-fine particles in it, removes dust from the air and uses activated charcoal to remove odor from the air. Also, you need not worry about changing and buying a new filter every now then. The filter in this Samsung machine can be removed easily, washed and re-inserted for another round. An LED indicator tells you when it is time to clean the filter. The operational buttons are placed on top, so it is easy to manage. Features like low sound operation and child lock are also present on the Samsung AX 3000 air purifier. Over that, it does not consume a lot of power.
Dyson Pure Cool Desk (Rs 38,900): We chose this air purifier for the office, because it does look great sitting on your desk. It is a unique air purifier built by Dyson that has a circular design, which regulates air in a larger area. Sitting on your office desk it will keep the air clean around you and the display panel on it, will tell you the air quality level at all times. It comes with a neat remote, too. It is a small air purifier which fits easily within any type of car. Keep it on the dashboard, the rear seat or on the middle channel between front two seats, it will start cleaning quickly. The power is driven from the charging cum lighter socket and it has two modes – slow and fast. The HEPA filter inside is efficient to keep the car air quality at its best. This is one gadget you should always have in your car.
Rumours are rife that Apple is currently testing iPhones with the USB-C charging ports instead of the Lightning ports. This might not be surprising to the ones who regularly keep in touch with the industry trends. Nowadays, every other Android smartphone is launched with the USB-C Type port. The upcoming smartphones will susceptibly launch with the same port. The USB-C port delivers more power, more data, more efficiently compared to the Lightning port or the older USB ports.
Apple has already incorporated this port on its laptops and iPads. To recall, USB-Type C has been described by many throughout the last few years as the “next big thing”. Apple is taking quite a long time to switch from Lightning ports to USB-Type C ports for iPhones. This announcement is a very recent one. Now that the USB-Type C has just started to be tested, it might take a year or two for it to be incorporated in the iPhones. Another argument which makes this speculation more of a possibility is that Apple has made a lot of money with the Lightning ports and sales of its cables and accessories.
So, it won’t harm to continue with the Lightning port for some more time. Apple releases very few iPhones every year. So, the number of devices which will have the USB-C will wont galore, until a few years have passed. With this news, we can say that accessory makers are going to be pre-occupied in making hardware for iPhones based on the USB-Type C. Accessory companies have targeted their products towards iPhones as there is a huge demand for this device in the smartphone market.
Now that USB-Type C will be introduced to iPhones, accessory companies don’t have to prioritise between Android and iOS devices. They will have demand from a major chunk of the mobile industry and are going to make a lot of money out of it. So, USB-Type C is not only advantageous to all these tech giants, as an improvement over the Lightning port, but also will help small companies which make accessories for mobiles.

India’s largest bank, the State Bank of India (SBI) has suffered a data breach that has left the data of millions of users exposed. The data breach is said to have happened because shockingly, the bank did not have a password on its server.
According to reports, the ‘SBI Quick’ server that allows customers to message the bank for information regarding their accounts, has now been secured. However, when it was open, it had archives of messages that dated back to December, according to a report in TechCrunch.
To be more specific, that means there were millions of messages regarding customer’s balance information, loan inquiries, financial transactions among other data.
SBI’s data breach was first spotted by an unknown researcher and was verified by Karan Saini, who had found a leak in India’s Aadhaar database.
We should mention that there was no sensitive data on the server, however, come details like partial account numbers and contact information of the customers can make them vulnerable to demands for ransom. It is also worth pointing out that there is a possibility of a social engineering attack, which is a very common way to commit financial frauds. These attacks require human intervention to correlate a phone number to a bank account that has a high balance. Speaking about this, Saini told to TechCrunch, “The data available could potentially be used to profile and target individuals that are known to have high account balances.”
One of the main reasons that the scope of the problem is vast in this case is that SBI is reported to have more than 500 million customers across the globe and they have 740 million accounts. But till now, the bank has not revealed any information about which customers’ data was exposed and who all are vulnerable to such threats. However, it has been reported that even in single data, the server shoots out around 3 million messages. So the scope of the problem is indeed very vast.
It wouldn’t be wrong to say that the breach happened because of negligence on SBI’s part. We should mention that data breaches are constantly increasing in spite of the fact that companies are spending a lot in terms of security. They happen because of all sorts of reasons like an organizational failure, process failure or, as in SBI’s case, employee negligence.

The latest topic surrounding HMD Global is that it has partnered with Pixelworks to bring HDR displays to its upcoming smartphones. Pixelworks makes HDR tone mapping, support for HDR 10 content and conversion of real time SDR to HDR. As of now, we have no idea about which smartphones will launch in the pretext of this partnership, but we expect that Nokia 9 PureView, the one which is set to launch in MWC 2019 on February 24, is going to be one of them.
Nokia 9 PureView yesterday got certified in China’s 3C agency. The certification showcased the smartphone with the model number TA-1094 tells that it will come with 18W fast charging. Also, it has been said that the Nokia 9 PureView is going to come with an AD-18WC fast travel charger in China. Earlier leaks have tipped that the Nokia 9 PureView will house a 4,150mAh battery and sport a 6-inch AMOLED QHD+ display.
Coming back to Pixelworks, the credit behind the HDR-enabled PureDisplay in the Nokia 7.1 goes to the company. To recall, the smartphone was announced during October last year. It sports an IPS 5.84-inch LCD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1,080×2,280 pixels. The screen aspect ratio is 19:9 and it is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The Nokia 7.1 was launched with Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box. However, it has been updated to Android 9.0 Pie recently, and is part of Google’s Android One programme.
The Nokia 7.1 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636 SoC and comes in two ram variants. These are 3GB RAM and 4GB RAM versions. The former brings an internal storage of 32GB while the latter brings 64GB. The storage is expandable via a microSD card by up to 400GB. There is a dual rear camera setup that consist of a 12MP and a 5MP sensor. The front camera on the other hand, has an 8MP sensor that is meant for selfies.
The device houses a 3,060mAh non-removable battery and comes with multiple colour options. These include WiFi 802.11, dual-band, WiFi Direct, hotspot, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC and USB 2.0. With Pixelworks partnering with HMD Nokia, we expect to the see a lot more smartphones from the company to sport an HDR display in 2019. At least from the 5 series upwards all Nokia phones of 2019, should have HDR display.
