Amazon announced Blink Outdoor and Blink Indoor – Blink’s all-new wireless smart home security cameras that run on two AA lithium batteries for up to two years with normal use, making them easy to use and maintain. The cameras boast a sleek new hardware design and offer 1080p HD video, IR night vision, motion detection, and two-way audio. Blink also announced that a new battery expansion pack – which doubles the camera battery life to up to four years in total with normal use, helping customers never miss an important moment.
Using a smartphone and the Blink Home Monitor app, Blink Outdoor and Indoor customers can see a live view of their home, receive motion detection alerts, and use two-way audio to speak to people or pets around their home. Customers can create custom “activity zones” to cut down on unnecessary alerts in high-traffic areas as well as remove sections in their camera’s field-of-view from video recording using Blink’s all-new privacy zone feature.
“While Blink’s Outdoor and Indoor security cameras include many of the innovative features our customers have come to love and expect – like a powerful two-year battery life – we now offer more options and customizations than ever. From new features like privacy zones to a new battery expansion pack that provides up to two additional years of battery power, we’re excited to deliver our new cameras to our customers,” said Mike Harris, General Manager of Blink.
As far as Flexible Storage capacity is concerned, Blink now offers two video storage options: cloud and local storage. All Blink Outdoor and Indoor cameras include a free trial to Blink’s cloud storage plan – valid through December 31, 2020. After this, customers who prefer the convenience and added benefits of cloud storage can continue their subscription starting at $3 a month for one camera or $10 a month for unlimited cameras at a single location, with no long-term contract required.
Moreover, Amazon revealed that its Blink customers can also choose to store video clips locally, with no monthly fees, using the included Sync Module 2 and a USB flash drive (sold separately). Blink’s Sync Module 2 connects up to 10 Blink cameras, allowing customers to create a robust network of devices they can control with ease – and right from their smartphone.
Blink’s all-new battery expansion pack allows cameras to run on four AA lithium batteries instead of two – doubling the camera battery life to up to four years in total with normal use. Blink Outdoor and Indoor are Alexa compatible. Customers can ask Alexa to arm and disarm their cameras, watch recorded motion clips, or say “Alexa, show me the front door camera” to see a live view through an Echo Show, Fire TV, or Fire tablet. Customers can also set up motion announcements and customized routines, like turning on smart lights when a smart home camera detects motion. For hassle-free battery maintenance, customers can have Alexa send reminders when batteries run low and set up smart reorders.

WhatsApp plans to bring Vacation Mode with an auto-archive chat feature on its platform
With WhatsApp being used by over 2 billion user base across the globe. And its keeps upgrading the messaging app to make it more user friendly. Now the Facebook-owned social media app is working on a new feature. According to the report, the vacation mode will be making a comeback on its platform very soon. The latest feature is being tested and is being rolled out as a part of the latest Android beta update. In addition to this, the company is also testing an auto-archive chats feature for the beta users at the moment.
According to a report by WABetaInfo WhatsApp has released a new update through the Google Play Beta Programmed with version number 2.20.199.8. Through the latest beta update, it has come to know that the messaging app is bringing back Vacation mode to its platform. At the moment this feature is under development and being rolled out for the beta users only. This development suggests that WhatsApp will include this mode in a future update.
Those who are unaware Vacation mode was first spotted last year but it never arrived as the company then stopped working on the feature. Now again WhatsApp is reportedly working the functionality. The feature is under development and when its free of bugs the mode will be officially rolled out to all the users across the globe allowing them to keep in the archive your chats when a new message arrives. But in a new development, the company is found to be testing this feature again.
The report says that WhatsApp will have a new dedicated section for the Vacation Mode, that allows choosing different parameters.
When the new feature will be enabled, Archived chats will be moved to the top of your chats list.
When you tap the new section, the Archived Chats will show up with a new button called notifications. Navigating into the notification section will allow them to choose the actions of Archived Chats when new messages arrive.
- Notify new messages: it’s the current behaviour. If you decide to disable it (when the feature will be available for everyone), you will have the vacation mode, so archived chats continue to stay in the archive when new messages arrive.
- Auto-hide inactive chats: this is an extension of the vacation mode. If enabled, if a chat is older than 6 months, it will be automatically archived. Probably WhatsApp needs to change the description of this option because it’s not clear now.
At the moment only two options are available but in the future, WhatsApp is most likely to bring more options to manage your archived chats. The report says that the company is expected to allow users to edit that “6 months” thing you can read in the screenshot, so the user can choose the perfect time for him. However, this feature is under development, when the company rolls it out in its next stable update we will update it first here at Gadget Bridge with a lot more information on WhatsApp’s upcoming feature.

Samsung announces it’s all new ‘The Premiere’ 4K Ultra Short Throw laser projector
In order to provide a big picture cinematic experience in the comfort of one’s home, Samsung announced its all new 4K Ultra Short Throw laser projector, The Premiere, at its virtual press conference event “Life Unstoppable”. The Premiere is the new anchor product in the award-wining Lifestyle product portfolio that now transcends the display experience – without the display.
Stating that TV has become the center of entertainment as consumers are spending more time at home, Jongsuk Chu, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, said, “The Premiere re-imagines the home cinema experience with an all-new, compact design, 4K picture quality and big sound for tight spaces that can be used for any at-home activity and living room arrangements.”
According to Samsung, The Premiere will be available up to 130- and 120-inch models – LSP9T and LSP7T respectively – that support a laser powered 4K picture resolution. The Premiere LSP9T is the world’s first HDR10+ certified projector with triple laser technology and delivers revolutionary contrast details as the user watches from bright to dark scenes with a peak brightness of up to 2,800 ANSI lumens.
Besides this, Samsung claims that The Premiere also supports Filmmaker Mode for the first of its kind as a projector allowing users to enjoy watching movies as director intended. The smart projector comes equipped with Samsung’s Smart TV platform and experience full of streaming video apps from major content partners and mobile connectivity features such as Tap View and mirroring.
Moreover, Samsung’s The Premiere comes in an all-in-one compact, space-saving design that blends into a variety of living room settings and arrangements. It can be placed just in front of the wall. It is designed for an easy-to-install set up and sports fabric finishes around its edges to harmonize different environments. The Premiere has powerful built-in woofers and Acoustic Beam surround sound, providing one of the best cinema experiences of projectors on the market today and reduces the need for additional bigger sound equipment in tighter spaces.
Mind you! Samsung first launched its Lifestyle product portfolio with The Serif in 2016 and has since expanded it to the award-winning TV line-up of The Frame, The Sero and The Terrace. By enhancing elements that speak to the consumer passion points for art, interior designs and the mobile experience, Samsung’s Lifestyle product line-up functions have evolved to become a central hub for a wide array of lifestyles.
It is worth noting that Samsung will begin to rollout The Premiere globally starting from the US, Europe, Korea, and other regions later this year.
