1. On System 

Step 1 – Open Google calendar on Google via browser. iQoo 8, iQoo 8 Pro with fast charging and higher refresh rate support launched
iQoo 8 and iQoo 8 Pro, the next iteration of the company’s popular gaming smartphone series has officially made its debut in the global market. The company has introduced the devices in China after teasing them for a long time. Similar to the iQoo 7 series, the company has also introduced the BMW M Motorsport colourway variant. Both the phones are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 and 888+ SoCs respectively.

iQoo 8, iQoo 8 Pro price and availability details 

The vanilla iQoo 8 will be available in two different configurations and will come in two different colour options: Legendary Edition with the BMW M Motorsport colourway and a Black colour variant. The 8GB RAM with 128GB storage option is priced at CNY 3,799 that translates to Rs 43,600 whereas the 12GB RAM with 256GB storage model will be priced at CNY 4,199 which translates to Rs 48,200. On the other hand, the iQoo 8 Pro model will come in a Legendary Edition and Track Version. The device will be priced at CNY 4,999 for the 8GB RAM with 256GB storage which comes around Rs 43,600, the 12GB RAM with 256GB model will be available at CYN 4,199 that translates to Rs 63,100 and the top-notch 12GB RAM with 512GB storage option at CYN 5,999 translating to Rs 68,800. Both the devices are now available for pre-orders in China. While the sale of gaming smartphones will begin from August 24 onward in the country.

iQoo 8 specifications

iQoo 8 features a 6.56-inch full-HD+ 10-bit colour AMOLED display with a 1,080×2,376 pixels of resolution. The screen also comes with 120Hz refresh rate support, a pixel density of 398ppi and a 19.8:9 aspect ratio. The device comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner,  ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, gyroscope, accelerometer, and e-compass.

iQoo 8 Pro specifications

iQoo 8 Pro comes with a massive 6.78-inch 2K AMOLED display with 1,440×3,200 pixels of resolution. It features a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR support along with 517ppi pixel density as well as a 20:9 aspect ratio. This gaming smartphone is powered by the very latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ SoC along with Adreno 660 GPU for graphics. It will be available with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage for storing content. iQoo 8 Pro price In addition to this, the phone includes a triple rear camera set-up that includes a 50-megapixel IMX766V sensor with an f/1.75 sensor and gimbal stabilisation. Every year Amazon brings a new set of Echo devices that not only are good to look at but has one of the most intelligent AI (Alexa) available in the market. The latest to come is Amazon Echo Show 10, which not only has Alexa in it but comes with a 10.1-inch touchscreen that rotates and follows you around the room. This is our Amazon Echo Show 10 review.

Amazon Echo Show 10: Design and display

The Amazon Echo Show 10 comes in one of the largest (eco-friendly) boxes any Echo device comes in. Neatly tucked in, after unboxing, we were greeted with a large cylindrical speaker that has a rotating crown on top, which attaches the touchscreen to the speaker. The display is not edge to edge, but we did not mind the extra bezels. More so because on the top right you also get a large camera with a privacy shutter. Buttons The top of the screen has a couple of buttons as well. These include volume up and down along with the Mics/Camera on/off buttons. So, there is no power button on Amazon Echo Show 10. Just connect the power adaptor to the port located at the bottom of the speaker and you are good to go. The speaker cylinder has two 1-inch tweeters along with a 3-inch woofer inside. More on the audio part in the next section. The 10.1-inch display on the Amazon Echo Show 10 works really well. The brightness is nice and you can read and see everything easily. We tried it in the kitchen as well as the living room. And no matter what we were up to, checking recipes online or watching soaps on Prime Video or Netflix, the experience was mighty fine. The user interface is easy to grasp, and not once did we felt we were lost. In case you feel lost, you can always ask Alexa for help and she will do the rest. Saying that, we hardly tapped or swiped the screen, as that is the beauty of having a smart speaker connected with a display powered by Alexa.

Amazon Echo Show 10 does everything the regular Echo speakers do and more. The sound of the speakers is great. If you are throwing a small party at home, this speaker is all you need to fill the room with great tunes. Setting up the Amazon Echo Show 10 is child’s play and we were up and running in no time at all. Since we already have our Amazon account ready, our setup time was very less. In case it is your first time with an Amazon device, then you will take a few extra minutes to set it up. Once up, Alexa takes care of everything. As always, she will learn your preferences. She will put reminders for you, manage your shopping lists, play songs or movies and even turn on the smart lights. As the days go by, she becomes smarter and learns to become a better assistant. You can have multiple profiles connected to it so that she is able to address you with your name, which brings a more personalised feel to the whole AI-human portico. She will understand what kind of music you like, what kind of recipes to show and will be part of the family. Amazon Echo Show 10 can also make audio and video calls for you since there is a screen and camera in it. The camera keeps you in focus and rotates the screen as you move across the room. A rotating camera is a great feature, as it adds to the security. How? The Amazon Echo Show 10 is a smart security camera also, which you can access from anywhere around the world. You can access and rotate the camera in all directions. Not bad Alexa, not bad! Alexa can hear commands from as far away as 15 feet with ease. Even if there is noise in the room, Alexa will answer you 9 out of 10 times.

At Rs 24,999 is Amazon Echo Show 10 worth the purchase? That is a definite yes. You can use the device in so many ways. It is a smart speaker, security camera as well as display you can watch movies on in one. Alexa will be a great addition to the family.

In the past, Intel was expected to launch its new discrete GPU Named Intel DG2. Now the company has officially announced the launch of its first consumer gaming-grade GPU that is going to retail under the name called Intel Arc. The company has itself designed the new high-end discrete GPUs which is likely to be shipped with both desktops and notebook by Q1 2022. Roger Chandler, Intel vice president and general manager of Client Graphics Products and Solutions commented on the launch, “Today marks a key moment in the graphics journey we started just a few years ago. The launch of the Intel Arc brand and the reveal of future hardware generations signifies Intel’s deep and continued commitment to gamers and creators everywhere. We have teams doing incredible work to ensure we deliver first-class and frictionless experiences when these products are available early next year.” According to the company the high-performance graphics products: Intel Arc will cover hardware, software and services, and will span multiple hardware generations, with the first generation, based on the Xe HPG microarchitecture, code-named Alchemist (formerly known as DG2). Intel has also released a video teaser that showcases the performance capabilities of its upcoming GPU’s. The company has not much revealed about the  Arc-based GPUs but as per the teaser but the high-end discreet GPUs will be capable of running demanding titles such as  Psychonauts 2, Mount & Blade II Bannerlord, Forza Horizon 4, PUBG, Subnautica Below Zero, Metro Exodus, the Rift Breaker, Days Gone, Chivalry and more. Intel also revealed the code names of future generations under the Arc brand: Battlemage, Celestial and Druid. As per the company, Intel Arc will be based on the Xe-HPG microarchitecture, a convergence of Intel’s Xe-LP, HP and HPC microarchitectures, that will deliver scalability and compute efficiency with advanced graphics features. Alchemist, the first generation of Intel Arc products, will feature hardware-based ray tracing and artificial intelligence-driven super sampling, and offer full support for DirectX 12 Ultimate. It will also help Intel’s long-term vision is to bring frictionless gaming and content creation experiences to gamers and creators worldwide, giving them innovation and choice in hardware coupled with open and accessible software tools. The Alchemist products will arrive in the first quarter of 2022. Speculations suggest that the Graphics card will comprise TCMC’s 6nm node to deliver a speed of up to 512 execution units and a clock frequency of up to 2.2Ghz. The Chinese smartphone company, Motorola, today officially announced the launch of two new smartphones in the Indian market. The company has introduced Motorola Edge 20 and Motorola Edge 20 Fusion smartphones. The new lineup includes a 108-megapixel primary sensor along with 10-bit AMOLED displays and both the phones support up to 5G band for connectivity.

Motorola Edge 20 has been launched in India with a price tag of Rs 29,999 for the single 8GB RAM with 128GB of storage option. Whereas the Motorola Edge 20 Fusion will be available at Rs 21,499 for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage and at Rs 22,999 for the 8Gb RAM with 128GB storage model. The standard model will be made available in two colour options of  Frosted Pearl and Frosted Emerald. On the other hand, Fusion will come in Cyber Teal and Electric Graphite colour options.  Both the devices will be available for purchase via Flipkart from August 24 and August 27 respectively in the country. Motorola Edge 20 Series is all set to launch in India today. Yes, the company is going to introduce the Edge 20 and Edge 20 Fusion smartphones in the country. Before coming to India the company had already introduced the device a week ago in the European market. Both the phones have been listed on Flipkart to tease their availability. Previously Fusion also appeared on the Geekbench benchmarking website and the Indian pricing was also leaked ahead of the official launch. Motorola Edge 20 and Edge 20 Fusion smartphones are going to launch in India today via Flipkart at 12 noon. The company has been teasing the key details of the smartphones through teasers and via a dedicated microsite in Flipkart. But recently Motorola Edge 20 Fusion was spotted on Geekbench which revealed that the device will be available in a 6GB RAM variant and will run Android 11 out of the box. In addition to this, the phone has scored 564 points in the single-core tests and 1,624 points in the multi-core tests. Apart from this the Indian pricing of both devices were also leaked on the web. The Motorola Edge 20 is expected to be available with a single 8GB of RAM with a 128GB of storage variant that is likely to be priced at Rs 29,999. On the other hand, Motorola Edge 20 Fusion is tipped to come in two different configurations of 6GB RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM with 128GB onboard storage priced at Rs 21,499 and Rs 23,999 respectively. These prices are not official so you can take it with a grain of salt. Speaking of the specifications, the Motorola Edge 20 will run on My UX on top of Android 11. It will feature a 6.7-inch full-HD+OLED display with 1,080×2,400 pixels of resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Under the hood there will be an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage option. On the camera front, Edge 20 will sport a triple rear camera setup that includes a 108-megapixel primary sensor, a 16-megapixel ultra-wide and macro lens, and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x high-res optical zoom and 30X Super Zoom. Upfront there is a  32-megapixel camera sensor for taking selfies and video calling. The phone will pack a 4,000mAh battery with support for TurboPower 30 fast charging. For connectivity, there is 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi 6, GPS, and Bluetooth and more.  On the other side, Motorola Edge 20 Fusion is reportedly going to be a rebranded variant of Motorola Edge 20 Lite that comes with a 6.7-inch OLED display with 90Hz refresh rate support. The software support will be the same as its sibling but the handset will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 800U SoC paired with 6ṣGB of RAM and 128GB of storage option. The phone may also include a 5,000mAh battery with 30W TurboPower fast charging support. In terms of photos, Edge 20 Fusion will also come with a triple rear camera set up that includes a 108-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens with Macro Vision, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Whereas the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 is priced in India at Rs 84,999 for the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage option and the 256GB storage model will come at Rs 88,999. This foldable phone will also be offered in two colour options of Phantom Black and Cream. Ola Electric Mobility announced the launch of its much-awaited electric scooter in India. Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro are the two variants that the company has introduced. Both the scooter come with a peak power of 8.5kW. Both the two-wheelers are battery operated and the company offers it in two options: 2.98kWh battery on the former and the 3.97kWh battery on the latter variant. The vehicle is going to take on other electric scooters like Ather 450X, Bajaj Chetak Electric, TVS iQube and more in India. The price of the S1 starts at Rs 99,999 while the Pro version will be available at a starting price of Rs 1,29,999. The pricing will depend on region to region. Like in Gujarat the vehicle is priced as low as 79,999 and Rs 109,999 respectively. This price is ex-showroom including FAME II subsidy but excludes state subsidies. The company has tied up with banks and financial institutes for an EMI plan starting at Rs 2,999. In terms of availability, the company will officially open Ola S1 scooters for purchase from September 8 and will start delivering across 1,000 cities and towns in October. Till then, these are available for reservation at just Rs 499.  Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro electric scooter launched in India: Here is everything about the new vehicles Starting with the design, Ola Electric Scooter S1 and S1 Pro will be available in 5 and 10 colour options of satin, matte and glossy finishes respectively. Each will feature a 7.0-inch TFT display. In addition to this, the scooters come with multiple microphones and AI speech recognition algorithms. They run MoveOS — built by Ola Electric and are powered by an octa-core processor with 3GB of RAM. There are four modes at launch — Bolt, Care, Vintage, and Wonder.  Both the electric scooters are almost the same in design and features but the only difference is the battery capacity. The Ola S1 comes with a 2.98kWh battery with a riding range of 121km whereas the Ola S1 Pro packs a 3.97kWh battery with a maximum range of 181km. So as the difference in the batteries the charging times are also different on each vehicle. Because of the lower battery capacity, the simple variant takes less time to charge than the pro version. Both the Ola Electric scooters are incorporated with Battery Management System (BMS) that monitors their durability, performance, range and safety. Both the scooters also accelerate from 0 to 40Kmph in under 3.6 seconds, and get 8.5kW of peak power. The Ola S1 offers two riding modes — Normal and Sports whereas its elder sibling comes with Normal, Sports, and Hyper modes. In terms of connectivity, the Ola Electric Scooters features 4G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. The vehicle is also voice-enabled and can be controlled with your voice command to control tasks on the screen. Additionally, the Ola Scooter includes an alert system, geo-fencing, and a flame retardant, dust and water-resistant battery. They also equip 110/70 R12 tyres with a rear mono-shock suspension and a front single fork suspension. The Chinese smartphone company, Xiaomi, has suspended the Redmi Note 10 Pro and Redmi Note 10 Pro Max 6GB RAM with 64GB storage options. The base variant of both the devices appears to no longer exist on the company’s website. Both the devices were earlier available in multiple configurations and the base version was the cheapest out of the pack. Referring to Xiaomi’s official online store mi.com, the 6GB RAM with 64GB storage for Redmi Nṣote 10 Pro and Redmi Note 10 Pro Max seem to be discontinued as the configuration is no longer listed on the website. In fact, Amazon is also not showing up the base model of both smartphones. Both the websites now list the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM with 128GB memory options. However, the change doesn’t affect the colour options and pricing of both the available models. This change indicates the upcoming Redmi 10 launch which the company has confirmed today only. Redmi has officially released the first teaser of the smartphone although it has not yet confirmed the exact launch date.  Xiaomi suspends 6GB RAM with 64GB storage model of Redmi Note 10 Pro and Pro Max ahead of the Redmi 10 launch The teaser poster shows the design of the phone from the back. It will be available in three colour options and the back panel will feature quad rear cameras housed inside a rectangular-shaped camera module positioned at the top left corner. The company also teases that that handset will come with a 50-megapixel camera sensor. In addition to this, the device will also equip a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. As per the recent blog leak, the Redmi 10 will be available in different configurations of 4GB RAM with 64GB storage, 4GB RAM with 128GB storage, and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage. It may arrive in three colour options of Carbon Gray, Pebble White, and Sea Blue. Moreover, the device is leaked to feature a 6.5-inch full-HD+ display with a 90Hz adaptive refresh rate. It may run on Android 11 with MIUI 12.5 out of the box and be powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G88 SoC. In terms of cameras, the Redmi 10 blog leak revealed that the phone will come with a quad rear camera setup that will include a 50-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide, 2-megapixel macro and 2-megapixel depth sensor. It is likely to sport an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for taking selfies. The phone is also stated to pack a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging as well as 9W reverse charging support. Back in March this year Samsung introduced Galaxy A52 in India. Now the South Korean company is planning to launch its tweaked variant which is Samsung Galaxy A52s in the country. Now the device support page has gone live on the Indian website hinting at its upcoming launch. The device has been spotted on various certification platforms and was leaked before the company’s official announcement.  Samsung Galaxy A52s support page has been spotted on the company’s India website. The device has appeared with model number SM-A528B which is speculated to be A52s. The support page did not reveal any information except that it would come with dual-SIM support. Before this, the handset also showed up on Geekbench as well as on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website. Previously the Samsung Galaxy A52s pricing and specification were also leaked on the web. The leaks suggest that the device could also launch in the European market in a 6GB RAM with 128GB storage model and is likely to be available in an 8GB RAM with 256GB storage variant in other markets. The price is tipped to start at EUR 499 that translates to Rs 39,100. If rumours and leaks are to be believed then Samsung Galaxy A52s could offer a 6.5-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display. It may also run One UI 3.1 based on top of Android 11 and be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G SoC. It could be offered with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage with an option to expand the internal storage via a microSD card.  In addition to this, the device is also suggested to come with a quad rear camera setup that may house a 64-megapixel primary lens with f/1.8 aperture, a secondary 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture. Further, it may include a 5-megapixel macro lens with f/2.4 aperture and a 5-megapixel depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. For taking selfies and video calling it is expected to come with a 32-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture. Along with this, the Samsung Galaxy A52s is likely to pack a 4,500mAh battery with 25W charging support. For connectivity, it is tipped to include a USB Type-C port, Bluetooth v5, and NFC support. The alleged smartphone could also come with an IP67 certified build for protection against dust and splashes. Samsung Galaxy A72 is the premium mid-range smartphone that was launched in India some time back. The device comes with some high-end features. There is a 5G model too but that is limited to the western market. We have spent a considerable amount of time on the device and this is our detailed review of the Samsung Galaxy A72. 

Samsung Galaxy A72 Review: Design and Display

In terms of looks, Samsung Galaxy A72 is definitely an eye candy. The device has been made available in pastel colour options Awesome Black, Awesome Blue, Awesome Violet, and Awesome White colour options. As the name suggests the device looks absolutely awesome and we have the Awesome Violet variant. The phone comes with a bigger form factor and also incorporates IP67 dust and water protection, which is something we don’t get to see on non-flagship phones.  Samsung Galaxy A72 Review: Design and Display The device feels premium and great in the hand and for us, it’s one of the best looking mid-range smartphones currently available in the market. The phone feels comfortable while holding and does not have sharp edges. Despite being over 200 grams the phone also doesn’t feel heavier either. It features a matte finish so no more fingerprints. Although it comes with an all-plastic build, which is a letdown at this pricing, we have liked a glass or metal build. Although the handset doesn’t look like a boring slab. Samsung Galaxy A72 Review: Design and Display Upfront it is endowed with a 6.7-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-O Display. We don’t call it flagship quality, but it is good enough as it supports HDR playback. The screen comes with a refresh rate of 90Hz with excellent colour reproduction. The brightness and colour contrast is also pleasing to the eyes. There were no jitters or slow scrolling experience. The Samsung Galaxy A72 supports an under-display fingerprint sensor, which we found to be slightly slow.  The edges on the sides are relatively slimmer than the bottom chin, which is more exaggerated than it should have been on the 6.7-inch screen. But the good thing is the punch hole cut out at the top centre is almost not there. There is a stereo speaker system in this smartphone. Though it produces balanced audio as it supports Dolby Atmos audio. we expected it to be better in terms of loudness. There is a dedicated Dolby Atmos game mode that enhances the audio while gaming. Moreover, Galaxy A72 includes a 3.5mm headphone jack which is a big relief. To put it all together, Samsung Galaxy A72 has nailed it in terms of design and display.

Now moving on to the performance side of the smartphone it has Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 720G, which is a major letdown considering the pricing. There are plenty of options available in the market that offer great performance and 5G connectivity too. But this doesn’t mean that the device is terrible in performance, but it is just that competition is hardcore out there. We had 8GB of RAM with a 128GB storage variant. Although the company has worked to improve the optimisation of the device, it is of no match considering other smartphones available in the market have slightly better SoC and storage. Nonetheless, the handset can easily hold apps in the memory well and we had no issues during our testing.  Samsung Galaxy A72 Review: Performance and Cameras Getting to the gaming side of things, frankly speaking, this phone is not made for high-end gaming. When gaming for long, the mobile heats up and you will notice frame drops as well. However, the device can handle day to day regimes, even heavy multitasking. Samsung does offer 3 years of OS updates and 4 years of security updates on this mobile phone. When it comes to software, Samsung’s One UI is the best Android skin. It is simple to use, has less bloatware and comes with features like system-wide dark mode and always-on display. Samsung Galaxy A72 Review: Performance and Cameras Quickly shifting gears, let’s get to the cameras now. Samsung Galaxy A72 features a quad rear camera setup that includes a 64-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens. In addition to this, there is a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 5-megapixel macro lens, and an 8-megapixel telephoto camera. Samsung has also provided a 32-megapixel selfie camera sensor on the front. It should be noted that the primary and the telephoto lenses equip OIS, which is something we don’t get to see in this price range. In normal daytime, the camera produced a better dynamic range and natural colours. So you can expect the camera to be reliable under any circumstance. Ultra-wide images have a wider field of view with good HDR capabilities too. The telephoto lens is capable of up to 3X optical zoom and up to 30 times digital zoom. The images look good up to 10x magnification but beyond that, the outcome depends upon the lighting conditions. The portraits from the primary lens look nice too offering a more natural undertone. Whereas the selfies also looked warm yet natural.

The nighttime images from the Galaxy A72 primary camera give better exposure details and look even better when night mode is turned on. The device does not have a 4K @ 60fps option, but it does provide 4K@30fps. The plus point is that the company has provided an OIS in its cameras hence the videos are stable from the rear as well as on the front.

In terms of battery endurance, the 5,000mAh battery can deliver more than a day’s screen on time under normal usage, whereas during heavy usage the phone will last you through the day only. The company also provides a 25W charger that takes from 0 to 100 percent in 1 hr and 25 minutes.

Verdict

Here comes the final part of our review. Though some might feel the device is overpriced, Samsung has practically nailed every other aspect of this phone. The display has good colour optimisation and even touch response. Yes, the device is not made for heavy gamers, but Samsung is not marketing it like that.  Here we would like to mention that the company introduced the phone alongside Galaxy A52, which offers similar specs and chipset. The only difference is a bigger display, battery and telephoto lens. So if you are looking for a more affordable option and a slightly smaller screen is not an issue then you can go for the Galaxy A52. Pros

The text messages sent by users are already encrypted on WhatsApp as well as on Facebook Messenger but now the company has added an extra layer of protection to keep the calls more secure and private. In addition, the company has also brings updated controls for disappearing messages. Facebook via a blog post announced, “Today, we’re rolling out the option to make voice and video call end-to-end encrypted on Messenger, along with updated controls for disappearing messages. People expect their messaging apps to be secure and private, and with these new features, we’re giving them more control over how private they want their calls and chats to be.”

Facebook has also informed that in the next few weeks it will begin testing end-to-end encryption for group chats, including voice and video calls, for friends and family that already have an existing chat thread or are already connected. The social media giant will also perform a test for your delivery controls to work with your end-to-end encrypted chats. This will help in preventing unwanted interactions by deciding who can reach your chats list, who goes to your requests folder, and who can’t message you at all. Moreover, the company will also carry out opt-in end-to-end encryption for Instagram DMs as well.
