To recall both 4G and 5G models were earlier introduced in the Europen market last month. The new smartphone comes with a 48-megapixel triple rear camera setup, a 90Hz display and it also supports 11 5G bands better connectivity.

Samsung Galaxy A22 5G has been launched in India in two variants. The 6GB RAM with 128GB storage model is priced at Rs 19,999 whereas the 8GB RAM with 128GB storage model comes with a price tag of Rs 21,999. Both these models will be offered in three colour options of Grey, Mint, and Violet. The 5G smartphone will be available for purchase across retail stores, Samsung.com and leading online portals.
The launch offers include HDFC debit and credit cardholders can avail a bank cashback of Rs 1500 on purchase of Galaxy A22 5G.

The audio products giant Bose has presented a new pair of TWS earbuds- Bose Sleepbuds II true wireless stereo earbuds in India. Before coming to India the audio device was announced in the US last year. These premium looking earphones feature a new acoustic and electronics design. These are claimed to block, cover, and replace the audible distractions from loud environmental noise. As the name suggests the TWS earbuds are specially designed and clinically proven to help people fall asleep faster.
Bose has also partnered with the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and the UCHealth CARE Innovation Center to test the impact of Bose sleep technology. The Bose Sleepbuds II is made of plastic whereas the charging case is built of aluminium. The device is claimed to deliver up to 10 hours of battery life on a single charge and it takes 6 hours to get completely charged. On the other hand, the casing takes about three hours to charge and provides an additional 30 hours of battery life.
Additionally, the free Bose Sleep App lets you set an alarm, change volume, and now includes three categories of content. The device offers 14 noise-masking tracks along with new relaxation options such as 15 Naturescapes and 10 Tranquilities to choose from. You can also upload up to 10 files from the Sleep App’s library. The TWS earbuds are compatible with iOS and Android devices and are rated for IPX4 for protection against water and dust. A new anti-friction coating covers each enclosure to prevent “squeaking” against the fabric. Whereas the etched antenna produces a more reliable phone and tablet connection using low-energy Bluetooth. As the Bose Sleepbuds II is designed to help people fall asleep faster it cannot be used to play any kind of music or take phone calls.

OnePlus Nord 2 5G and OnePlus Buds Pro officially debuts in India
Today in India the Chinese premium smartphone company announced the launch of the OnePlus Nord 2 5G and OnePlus Buds Pro. Both the devices have been introduced via a short fictional movie that was live-streamed across all its social media channels. The smartphone features a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 triple rear camera. There is a 4,500mAh battery and 65W Warp Charging including a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and an HDR10+ certification. Whereas the new pair of True Wireless earbuds comes with ANC and three microphones.
On the camera front, OnePlus Nord 2 5G features a vertically aligned triple rear camera set-up that includes a 50-megapixel IMX766 primary sensor with OIS. This 2 wheeler is a follow-up Mi Electric Scooter Pro 2 that was launched last year. The vehicle is similar to the first two-wheeled self-balancing scooter however this is a special edition electric vehicle that has been introduced to celebrate the success of Mi India 7th anniversary. The EV is now being showcased across Mi Homes in the country. It features a 600W motor and comes with smart app connectivity features.

Samsung has officially confirmed that the next Galaxy Unpacked event is scheduled to happen on August 11. Previously, the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event was tipped to happen on August 8 but some reports before the official announcement claimed that the event will be hosted on August 11. Samsung has the tradition of hosting Galaxy Unpacked events to announce its new devices. The Rumour mills suggest that the company might be showcasing five devices that will include Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Watch 4, Galaxy Watch Active 4, and Galaxy Buds 2.
Samsung usually hosts two mega-events during a year out of which one has already taken place in January and the second one is about to happen. The company has officially announced it will host its next Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event on August 11. It is going to be an online presentation that will kickstart at 10 AM ET and 7.30 PM IST. The dedicated launch event will be live-streamed through the company’s official website as well as via the YouTube channel.

The video teaser suggests two foldable devices that indicate the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. The company has not officially revealed much information but as per European retailer LambdaTek leaked listing Galaxy Z Fold 3 256GB storage model will be available at EUR 1,678.51 that translates to Rs 1,47,400 whereas the 512GB model is said to come at EUR 1,783.10 translating to Rs 1,56,600 excluding VAT. With VAT the former one will be offered at EUR 2,031 (approx Rs 1,78,400) whereas the latter one at EUR 2,157.55 (approx Rs 1,89,500). The foldable device will be available in Phantom Green, Phantom Silver, and Phantom Black colour options as per the listing.
On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 has also been listed, revealing that the foldable phone will retail at EUR 978.13 including VAT, which translates to Rs 85,900 and EUR 1,183.54 that comes around Rs 1,03,900 without VAT for the 128GB storage variant. The 256GB model is listed to be priced at EUR 1,029.20 that translates to Rs 90,400 including VAT and EUR 1,245.33 excluding VAT that translates to Rs 1,09,400. The device is listed to come in Phantom Black, Dark Blue, Gray, White, Cream, Green, Light Pink, and Lavender colour options.

Asus TUF Dash F15 gaming laptop review: Brains and beauty
Asus’s gaming machines have always been the ones to look out for. This year the company launched the Asus TUF Dash F15 gaming laptop 2021 edition, which simply put, is a pure stunner. We spent some time with the laptop and this is the Asus TUF Dash F15 gaming laptop review, you should not miss.
Upfront you get an ultra-thin 15.6-inch anti-glare display with a 240Hz refresh rate. It supports full-HD graphics, too. The lower part has a large keyboard without NUMPAD. Here the WASD keys are transparent which the FPS gamers would love. The keyboard is backlit and has a couple of extra multimedia keys along with the diamond-shaped power button on top. The trackpad is also decently large and does not come in the way when typing.
The top of the lid has the large TUF branding in a matte white finish with grey lines. The right side of the Asus TUF Dash F15 gaming laptop has two USB 3.2 ports, while the left side has another USB port, one 3.5mm audio jack, one HDMI, Ethernet and one thunderbolt port. The power input is also placed here. An array of microphones can also be found on the laptop, however, there is no webcam on the device. So that sums up the design, now let’s move on.
The display is by far one of the best we have seen on an Asus laptop. The brightness is great and games like DOTA 2 or CS: Go can be played with ease at 120+ frames per second. We watched a lot of movies on the Asus TUF Dash F15 gaming laptop, plus some Netflix shows in HD and the laptop did not disappoint us. The sound compliments the screen, but we wanted a little more thump from it.
The above is coupled with 16GB RAM, 8GB of which is soldered on the motherboard and 8GB is removable. Most super-thin gaming laptops (this one is 19.9mm thin) like these come with soldered RAM, which has its own pros and cons. Pro is the thinness of the notebook and the con is if it gets ruined, you need to replace the motherboard. Users also get 1TB NVMe PCIe 3.0 SSD. Windows 10 Home is the native OS on the Asus TUF Dash F15 gaming laptop. We would have appreciated the Pro version.
The laptop also has Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1. Overall, the laptop performed really well and we loved working on it. It does get hot rather quickly when gaming, but the system fans do a good job of keeping it cool. But for prolonged gaming, you would need to keep the AC in the room turned on.
Moving to its battery life, the Asus TUF Dash F15 gaming laptop lasts for Over 12.5 hours when watching FHD movies or YouTube videos. But it drops down considerably when you are gaming. This is why it is recommended to keep the charger connected when you are slaying your enemies on screen. Also, that will kick in the discreet GPU unit. The laptop supports fast charging too. It can charge up to 50% in 30 minutes.

We got our hands on the white version of the laptop and even though it can catch those dark ugly smudges, we could not stop drooling over it.

Let’s quickly talk about the tech specifications first. The Asus TUF Dash F15 gaming laptop we reviewed had the Intel Core i7 version that supports 3.3 GHz. But this is just a quad core CPU, which is not super best for high-end gaming, but does get the job done on medium to high settings with the NVIDIA 3070RTX GPU for most games.
The above is coupled with 16GB RAM, 8GB of which is soldered on the motherboard and 8GB is removable. Most super-thin gaming laptops (this one is 19.9mm thin) like these come with soldered RAM, which has its own pros and cons. The weight of the machine is around 2Kg, which is not bad for the latest chipsets driven Asus TUF Dash F15 gaming laptop. The price of this laptop is 1,28,990 upwards. They have introduced another good projector in the Indian market, which caters to both home as well as business users. We tinkered around with this one for some time to find out what it is all about. The ViewSonic LS600WE projector is nothing out of the ordinary when it comes to its design, but it looks modern and checks all the boxes of a good design. Dressed in white, it is a fairly large projector that can be roof-mounted or kept on the table. We kept it on the table and were up and running in 5 minutes time. Yes, that is how much time it takes to set it up.
The functions are fairly simple and with the supplied IR remote and well-placed buttons on top of the projector you can access all the features with ease. There are a lot of ports placed behind the ViewSonic LS00WE projector. These include a couple of HDMI ports, 1 Ethernet port, USB, Video-in and audio in and out ports. We connected the laptop to the projector via HDMI and the results were good. More about it in the performance section.
The manual zoom knob is also given on the top, which also works well and is not flimsy at all. Users can zoom 1.2X optically using it. A 10W speaker is also part of the ViewSonic LS600WE projector, which is given at the back of the projector. It is not super loud but is decent for small to medium rooms. In case you want higher sound, you can connect external speakers.

Now on to the fun part. The ViewSonic LS600WE projector is an LED projector and not the usual Lamp driven projector. According to the company, it can last for up to 30,000 hours. Which is good enough for a very-very long time. It supports FHD resolution (up to 1080p) which will display great imagery on a wall or projector screen. 3,800 ANSI lumens of brightness is there, which is exceptional if you are watching it in brightly lit rooms.
We tested it on a yellow/off white wall and we were very happy with the results. The images were great, there was no ghosting, and the blacks seemed deep. The colours were vibrant and there was no need to dim the lights. As said, the sound is fine for small rooms, but for large ones, you do require extra speakers. The supplied remote works well, too. Keystone correction is another good feature that allows the users to rectify the screen if the projector is kept at an angle.
The projector consumes 270watts when working and just 0.5W when in standby mode. ViewSonic LS600WE projector supports screen sizes from 30-300 inches. That is an A+ in our books as you can enjoy sporting events and movies on an extremely large screen. Overall, we loved what this neat device had to project.
Verdict
At Rs 1,49,000 the ViewSonic LS600WE projector is a decent buy for home users and businesses, as it does not have any moving parts. It is also dust resistant and considering our homes and offices are very dusty, the projector will last longer. A worthy buy if you can afford it.

YouTube acquires Simsim: A short video shopping platform in India to enable e-commerce through videos
The popular video streaming platform owned by Google, YouTube has announced its acquisition of Indian company Simsim. The company has acquired the short video shopping platform in order to provide e-commerce features to its users in the coming future. The company claims that this will help its viewers discover and buy products from Indian retailers through videos.
This news comes by way of a blog post that stated, “As more and more shopping happens online, video has an important role in helping viewers discover new products and find expert advice they trust. Every day, people come to YouTube to compare products, watch reviews and find recommendations from their favourite creators. Today, we are taking another step to help viewers discover and buy products from local businesses: we have signed a definitive agreement to acquire simsim and expect to complete the transaction in the coming weeks.”
For those who are unaware, Simsim is a short video shopping platform in India that enables e-commerce through videos. The Simsim app serves as a platform to connect local businesses, influencers and customers. When the creators post video reviews of products from local businesses, the viewers can buy those products directly through the app. Videos are available in three local languages including Hindi, Tamil and Bengali, enabling retailers of all sizes to reach buyers through video in their preferred language. So YouTube has acquired this Indian company in order to help small businesses and retailers in India to reach new customers. As of now, there will be no immediate changes to simsim, the app will continue operating independently while we work on ways to showcase simsim offers to YouTube viewers.
As per the video, giant small businesses have used YouTube to expand their presence online — and many of them use YouTube to reach customers outside of their local community, from Interior Designers to Silk Sarees sellers.
In a joint statement, simsim cofounders, Amit Bagaria, Kunal Suri and Saurabh Vashishtha said, “We started simsim with the mission of helping users across India shop online with ease, enabled through small sellers and brands showcasing and selling their products using the power of content by trusted influencers. OnePlus Nord 2 renders leaked, specifications also tipped ahead of the launch
As we are inching closer to the launch of the OnePlus Nord 2, the rumour mills are constantly churning one leak after another. And now, the latest leak has revealed the specifications of the much-anticipated smartphone including its colour options. Recently the pricing and the design of the device was also leaked on the web. But the latest reveal shows the phone sporting a hole-punch display and triple camera sensors placed inside a rectangular-shaped camera module on the back of the phone.

WhatsApp Joinable Calls is a new user interface that is very similar to the interface you see on Facetime. The feature gives the ability to people to join calls even when they are already started. WhatsApp will give you the option or alert if you want to quickly join the call, without asking other participants to add you again if the group call is still ongoing. This feature is such a relief to many users like us who don’t want to join a group video or voice call initially or ignore them temporarily for whatever reasons and quickly join the call later on without asking other participants to add you again.
WhatsApp via a blog post said, “At a time when so many of us are apart, there’s nothing better than getting together on a group call with friends and family, and there’s nothing worse than realizing that you missed a special moment.
As the popularity of group calls continues to grow, we’ve been working to improve the experience for our users – while of course still providing the security and privacy of end-to-end encryption. Today we’re introducing the ability to join a group call, even after it’s started. Joinable calls reduce the burden of answering a group call as it starts, and brings the spontaneity and ease of in-person conversations to a group calling on WhatsApp.”
When someone in your group misses a call when the phone rings, they can still join whenever they like. You can also drop-off and re-join so long as the call is still ongoing as the new WhatsApp Joinable calls feature to make it possible.
WhatsApp has also created a call info screen that will show who is already on the call, and who has been invited but not yet joined. And, if you hit ‘ignore’ you can join later from the calls tab in WhatsApp.
WhatsApp has begun rolling out the feature with a new update and it is expected to arrive at your devices on the latest version of WhatsApp for Android and iOS soon.
