Samsung launched the exclusive range of The Frame and Smart 7-in-1 TVs in India

The South Korean electronics giant, Samsung, today announced the launch of its exclusive series of Televisions. The Frame and Smart 7-in-1 TVs are what the company has launched today. The company claims, the Frame is an innovative Television offer by the company that is considered to be an ideal balance of technology, functionality as well as aesthetics while, the Samsung Smart 7-in-1 TV is aimed at young millennials and consumers who like to watch online content. This Smart TV is available in two sizes 32-inches as well as 40-inches. The Frame by Samsung comes in a single size of 55-inches.

Price and Offers

The Frame 55-inches TV will be exclusively available on Flipkart and Samsung’s official online store Samsung Shop, at a no-cost EMI starting at Rs 4,999 starting August 12, 2019 (actual price is Rs 1,19,999). The 32 inches (80 cm) Samsung Smart 7-in-1 TV is available on Flipkart and Samsung’s official online store Samsung Shops too at an easy no-cost EMI of INR 999, while the 40 inches (100 cm) Samsung Smart 7-in-1 TV will go live on Amazon and Samsung Shop in the fourth week of August. The 32-inch versions actual price is Rs 22,500 and 40-inch one can be picked up for Rs 33,900.

Features of The Frame

The Frame comes with a 55-inch QLED display that can be transformed from TV into a picture frame. The Frame showcases more than 1,000 artworks across the globe that can be accessed by signing up for a membership to get unlimited access or the user can choose the artworks from the world’s renowned institutions.

The television offers a 100 percent detailed colour volume. It also comes with built-in motion and brightness sensors that automatically turn off when not in use. The sensors also sense the ambient light because of the brightness sensor without any human intervention stabilises the brightness and colour tone of the screen. This is supported by Samsung’s Quantum Dot technology as well as HDR 10+.

It comes with the support of Bixby and Google Assistant that can be controlled with the user’s voice command, additionally, without any trouble, it can be connected to Smart Devices with the use of SmartThings App and One Remote Control along with built-in AirPlay 2. Samsung Galaxy Watch Active review: Good for fitness enthusiasts

Samsung is not only focussing on smartphones in India. The South Korean technology giant launched the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active in India in June this year. The smartwatch is priced at Rs 19,990 and it is available for purchase via Amazon India and Samsung India’s website. Samsung has touted the presence of a number of fitness-focussed features on the Galaxy Watch Active. We spent a few days with it and here’s our review of the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active:

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active design and display

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active has a minimalistic design, but still looks very elegant. The watch has a compact body and it is very light to wear. Unlike Samsung Galaxy Watch, the device does not have a rotating bezel wheel, so users have to navigate the user interface manually using the screen. If you like watches that don’t look too chunky or big, you can go for the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active. Even the ladies wouldn’t find it too big for their wrists. The straps of the watch are made up of silicone and they are extremely soft. So, it wouldn’t be hard for you to wear the watch for a prolonged period of time. We often wore it while sleeping and it did not cause any discomfort. The smartwatch is available in four colour variants including Black, Deep Green, Rose Gold and Silver. The one that we got for review was dressed in Black.

Coming to UI navigation, it was fairly easy for us to do it by swiping the screen. However, is you used the Samsung Galaxy Watch, you may find it hard to get used to as the smartwatch does not come with a rotating dial. The rotating bezel surely makes it easier to scroll through the UI, but then, since Samsung Galaxy Watch Active has a very good touchscreen display, it’s not exactly a problem.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2

The smartwatch has two buttons on the right side. While the one on the top is the Back button and it takes you to the previous page. The one below it is a ‘Home Screen’ button. In our experience with the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active, the two buttons always worked perfectly.

Coming to the display of the smartwatch, it has a 1.1-inch circular Super AMOLED (360×360) screen that is protected with Gorilla Glass. While the screen size is less because of the thick bezels, the display is actually very good. The colours on the screen of the watch look rich and vibrant. All the icons are sharp and the sunlight readability of the device is good. We did not encounter a problem viewing it even once.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active performance

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active runs Tizen OS 4.0 and once you launch the apps on the smartwatch, you will see that they have tiny icons that have been arranged in a ring-like shape. A number of Samsung apps are present on the smartwatch including the Alarm, Calendar, Weather, Samsung Health, etc. The device also has support for Samsung’s digital assistant Bixby. Samsung Galaxy Store is also present on the Galaxy Watch Active, so there is an option of downloading a few more apps too. However, don’t expect the kind of variety you find on the Apple Watch.

Samsung’s Tizen OS 4.0 is extremely fluid and it makes the navigation on the smartwatch very easy. During our time with the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active, we did not encounter any lag on it. A big plus is that you can change the watchface of the smartwatch and you get to choose from over a 1,000 of them if you head to Samsung Store.

As the name suggests, the device is completely focussed on fitness and maybe that’s why, the user interface is kept rather simple. But then, for fitness freaks there are a number of modes that the smartwatch offers including Walking, Running, Cycling, Swimming, Treadmill and Hiking.

During our time with the watch, we tried the Running and the Treadmill modes. Overall, the results that the smartwatch showed were fairly accurate. There was only a marginal difference between the readings on the treadmill and the ones on the smartwatch. We should also mention that the device comes with 5ATM water resistance and hence, you can also take it for a swim. One of the best things about the watch is that when you take a break in your workout, it senses that and pauses the readings too.

Besides this, you can also track your sleep and heart rate on the smartwatch. Sleep tracking was mostly on-point and the data on our phone showed our sleep pattern accurately, whether it was fragmented or undisturbed. The heart-rate monitor also worked well. When we tried to make someone else wear the smartwatch, it shot up immediately.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 4

You would also be able to save some music and photos on your device as it comes with 4GB of internal storage. Samsung Galaxy Watch Active can be paired with Android as well as iOS devices. Since we paired it with our Samsung Galaxy smartphone, we believe our experience was slightly better than people with other Android devices would get. We could reply to most notifications using the smartwatch itself and didn’t have to turn to our smartphone again and again.

Coming to the battery of the device, with our usage, the smartwatch stayed active for almost two days. But then, if your usage is moderate, it should last longer. A tip that will come into use for longer battery life is activating the night mode on the device before sleeping. The smartwatch takes around two and a half hours to be charged completely.

Verdict

Samsung Galaxy Watch Active may be simpler than other smartwatches, but it’s more affordable too. The downsides of the smartwatch include the small screen-size and the fact that it has support for very limited apps. However, it does come with a number of fitness-focussed features that work accurately, is extremely comfortable to wear, and its battery life is lasting. Also, if you can ignore the small size of the display, the screen actually projects sharp images and vibrant colours. You also get other features on the smartwatch like sleep tracking and heart rate monitor.

Overall, we felt that Samsung Galaxy Watch Active is a good buy at Rs 19,990 and the key highlights of the smartwatch are the comfort and the accurate fitness features.

The newest G60 series projectors come with laser light source that guarantees unspoiled image quality at the same time lowering the maintenance required compared to the majority of lamp-based projectors. Canon announced the launch of its latest flagship cameras PowerShot G5 X Mark II and the PowerShot G7 X Mark III in India. The company claims that the newly launched G series cameras are compact as well as light in weight. The key specifications of both the devices include a 20.1MP, 1-type loaded CMOS sensor along with a wide aperture of f/1.8-f/2.8. G5 X Mark II offers a 5X optical zoom. The other Canon G7 X Mark III comes with up to 4.2X optical zoom. Both the PowerShot cameras are powered by the company’s own DIGIC 8 processor. The Canon PowerShot G5 X Mark II and PowerShot G7 X Mark III is available in the country at a price of Rs 64, 995 and Rs 52, 995 respectively.

Key Features of the PowerShot G5 X Mark II and PowerShot G7 X Mark III

As we mentioned before both the cameras are powered by Canon’s DIGIC 8 Processor that features a 1-type stacked CMOS sensor. As per the company, the sensor is well-built compared to the majority of other compact cameras. The cameras use ISO range of up to 25,600, which offers quality images in any circumstances such as low contrast situations as well as high contrast situations. With a wide aperture of f/1.8-f/2.8 along with a 24-120mm focal range, G5 X Mark II offers up to 5X optical zoom on the other hand PowerShot G7 X Mark III has 24-100mm focal range that provides 4.2X optical zoom. However, the PowerShot G5 X Mark II provides balances handling no matter what, from shooting portraits to macro close-ups of 0.47X magnifications as the company claims.

OnePlus 7 starts getting OxygenOS 9.5.8 software update and new security patch

OnePlus has started rolling out a new software update on the OnePlus 7 smartphone. The latest update by the company brings the August 2019 Android security patch. The Chinese smartphone company has pushed the security patch even before the Google Pixel devices got it. Along with the latest August 2019 Android security patch, the update also gets optimised adaptive brightness with a few bug fixes and performance enhancements. Along with the OnePlus 7 regular variant, the vanilla variant has also started receiving the latest update.

Over that, OnePlus 7 has started receiving the OxygenOS 9.5.8 update, too. The company has said the new update will be rolled out in a staged manner. The Over the Air software update will be received by a limited number of users today and will have a broader rollout in a few days after making sure there are no serious bugs.

A lot of new improvements can be seen within the new update. Starting from fixing of the quick settings menu to dropping to rectification of accidental touches. Here’s a look at the changelog of OxygenOS 9.5.8 update:

Technology giant Google is in no mood to maintain secrecy with regards to details of its upcoming Pixel series. Prior to its launch, the company released an official image of the device on its Twitter handle and lately it published a blog post that talks about some features of the upcoming Pixel 4. Now the company has officially released the high-resolution case renders of the Pixel 4 XL. However, the image does not reveal much about its flagship smartphone but it gives us a closer look at the rear cameras.

The renders reveal that the Google Pixel 4 XL smartphone will be featuring a triple rear camera array. The upcoming smartphone has received a major upgrade as the older variant featured a single rear camera only. However, it is speculated that one of the three cameras will be an ultra-wide-angle snapper.

The triple rear cameras will be positioned in a square-shaped camera module. On the other hand, the premium smartphone Apple’s iPhone 2019 variant will also be featuring a similar design concept concerning the square-shaped camera module.

Google Pixel 4 renders

What is more, all the cases will come with a cutout near the camera to some extent as these are raised so that the glass doesn’t get scratched. On the rear, it will be sporting a Corning Gorilla protection as well. The Google Pixel 4 is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855/ 855 Plus SoC along with an AMOLED display. The upcoming device will run on Android Q. It is rumoured to be made available in 6GB RAM along with 128GB internal storage.

If the Face Unlock feature detects the user’s face it will unlock your device instantly. Google has also said that its system will work in any orientation, including when it is upside down. The Pixel 4 smartphone is slated to launch in October this year.

Samsung officially unveils the Galaxy Watch Active 2

The South Korean company, Samsung, officially unveiled the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 without a dedicated event. The Galaxy Watch Active 2 is the successor of the Galaxy Watch Active. The predecessor is available in India at a purchasing cost of Rs 19,990.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 has been launched at $279 (approximately Rs 19710). However, the smartwatch will be put on sale in the United States from September 27.

The smartwatch will come in two case options aluminium as well as stainless steel. The aluminium model will be available with a colour choice of Cloud Silver, Aqua Black and Pink Gold with Fluoroelastomer case. While the other stainless steel model will come in silver, black and a gold finish along with the leather strap. All the models of the smartwatch will be available in two sizes 44mm and 40mm case sizes in Bluetooth and LTE versions. The smaller size of Active 2 (40mm) packs 274 mAh battery, whereas the 44mm one will come up with 340 mAh battery.

All the models of the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 will be powered by an Exynos 9110 SoC clocked at 1.15 GHz coupled with 768 MB RAM along with 4 GB of internal storage.

On the other hand, the LTE models will come with 1.5 GB RAM also 4 GB of internal storage.

The major update of the Galaxy Watch Active 2 has received is now the watch has bezel control. Similar to the older variant the Active 2 also does not have a physically rotating dial. As an alternative, it now has a touch-sensitive black border that surrounds the screen. The touch-sensitive strip allows the user to scroll all the way through the screens as well as the menus that are available on the watch. According to the Verge, the Galaxy Active Watch 2 can be controlled by moving fingers over the touch-responsive screen but it is unfeasible if the user uses it while wearing gloves. It produces a click-like haptic buzz as you move your fingers over the bezel that stimulates the clicks of the physical wheel.

As per the company, it now comes with an enhanced heart rate monitor as well as an accelerometer in the Active 2 above previous models. The Huawei Mate X will be featuring two FullView Display panels in 6.6-inch and 6.38-inch sizes. When unfolded it will fetch an 8-inch OLED FullView Display panel and it will not carry any notch on its display. However, when folded it will provide a 6.6-inch display on the front with a pixel count of 1,148×2,480 pixels and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The foldable smartphone will run Android 9 Pie on top of which EMUI 9.1.1 will run. The device will be powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC, paired with 8GB RAM. The mobile will come up with 512GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card.

Coming on to the imaging duties, the Huawei Mate X will feature a two-in-one front and rear camera setup that is powered by Leica optics. This includes three sensors a 40-megapixel sensor wide-angle lens, 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and an 8-megapixel sensor telephoto.

In his response, he said that “Redmi Note 8 is much stronger than the next door…” So, this hints that the Redmi Note 8 will arrive soon in the market.

However, Lu Weibing has not revealed any details with regard to Redmi Note 8 specifications and features. The Chinese smartphone company is gearing up to launch a smartphone with 64MP camera sensor this month though it is being speculated that Redmi’ Note 8 might arrive with aforesaid camera capability. For quite some time the company has been sharing the renders and details of its upcoming smartphone with a 64MP camera sensor and it is expected to feature this CMOS unit.

It is rumored that the Redmi Note 8 might come up with ISOCELL Bright GW1 64MP sensor. The sensor is expected to come up with pixel-merging Tetracell technology along with a remosaic algorithm. In low lighting conditions, the camera sensor will bring 16-megapixel images along with pixel binding technology that upsurges the light. Additionally, the camera sensor will be supported by instantaneous HDR of up to 100 decibels, which delivers added comprehensive colours.

On the other hand, Realme is also set to announce its own 64-megapixel smartphone that will be revealed on August 8 at a dedicated event to be held in India. Samsung is also expected to launch a smartphone in the Galaxy A-series next month. According to a report, the smartphone will be featuring a 64-megapixel camera sensor. However, Xiaomi has also confirmed to launch another smartphone with the same 64-megapixel camera on August 7. The Chinese company has announced this on its official Weibo account along with a poster that comes with a tagline ‘Images of the Future’.

Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi Note 7 were launched earlier this year by Xiaomi in China and India. Recently the company also launched the new colour variant of Redmi Note 7 series in China. Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro smartphones will now be available in ‘Mirror Flower Water Moon’ colour, too. The new colour variant of the smartphones has been put on sale by Xiaomi on its official China website but not in India.

Chinese smartphone brand Xiaomi’s POCO F1 gathered a lot of appreciation for offering the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC at a very reasonable price. But still wasn’t a hit. If you want an affordable smartphone with Snapdragon 845 SoC, then you can go think of the POCO F1 smartphone that is available at a price cut as of now. Xiaomi India MD, Manu Kumar Jain shared on its Twitter account about the latest price cut of the said smartphone. The company revised the price of Poco F1 last month in June where the 6GB/64GB storage variant was available down to Rs 17,999 for a limited time.

According to the Tweet by Manu Kumar Jain, both the variants of the POCO F1 have received the price cut. The tweet says that the 6GB/128GB storage variant can now be purchased at Rs 18,999. On the other hand, after the price cut, the 8GB/256GB storage variant will be available at Rs 22,999.

The tweet says, “Mi fans, you know how the #POCOF1 has won so many hearts. It’s time to bag the champion at a killer price from mi.com  or @Flipkart. 6GB+128 GB = ₹18,999 8GB+256 GB = ₹22,999 (Incl. Armoured edition)”

The smartphone is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 845 SoC and has Adreno 630 as the GPU. Coming on to the camera Xiaomi’s Poco F1 sports a dual-rear camera setup that includes a 12MP primary camera with an f/1.9 aperture along with Sony IMX363 sensor paired with a 5MP secondary Samsung sensor. The device also has a dual-LED flash and Dual Pixel autofocus. On the front, it has a 20MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture for taking selfies and video calling. The smartphone supports dual SIM connectivity, Dual 4G+ VoLTE, Hybrid Dual SIM (nano + nano / microSD) and it also features a rear fingerprint scanner.

Other features of the Poco F1 includes an IR face unlock Dirac HD, Dual Smart PA, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), 3.5mm audio jack, GPS + GLONASS, Bluetooth 5 and USB Type-C support.

Chinese technology company Xiaomi launched its first flagship Redmi K20 series smartphones in India this year. While the Redmi K20 Pro handset is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 SoC, the Redmi K20 houses a Snapdragon 730 processor. Both the smartphones feature a triple rear camera setup. The handsets run on Android 9.0 Pie. These smartphones were launched in China in May this year. After gathering an incredible response, Xiaomi Redmi K20, as well as K20 Pro, will now be available via open sale starting today.

Prior to its launch in the country, Redmi K20 pro was launched in four variants in China. The smartphone is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC coupled with Adreno 640 GPU. It comes with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage that can be expanded via microSD card of up to 512GB. Redmi K20 Pro houses a 4,000mAh battery that has support for 27W fast charging.

On the imaging front, the Redmi K20 Pro features a triple rear camera setup that includes a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor, a 13MP wide-angle lens, and an 8MP telephoto sensor. On the front, there is a 20MP pop-up selfie camera that also has support for panorama mode.

To lure its subscribers, these days BSNL has been introducing new offers, content offerings, free subscriptions, and other services. The government-run telecom company has taken many consumer-centric moves, but in the latest development, the company has announced that it will put a daily cap on calling. This move will surely disappoint its subscribers because now the subscribers will not be able to enjoy the benefit of unlimited voice calling. This new move is likely to put BSNL to one side. As others are giving unlimited calling.

The state-led telecom company BSNL has issued in its latest information statement, which says that the prepaid vouchers of Rs 186, Rs 429, Rs 485, Rs 666 and Rs 1,699 will not provide the benefits of unlimited calling. In its newest announcement, the telecom provider stated that the subscribers who are consuming more than 250 minutes of outgoing calls that includes local, STD plus roaming on its own network, as well as other networks in a whole day, will be further charged as per the base plan tariff. That means if the consumer has a base plan tariff at 1 paisa per second and they outdo the permissible limit in a day, they will be charged at the same base tariff. The base tariff will be chargeable till twelve midnight and from the next day straight on they will have to safeguard to use 250 minutes of calling.

To recall, three years ago when Mukesh Ambani led telecom operator Reliance Jio entered the telecom sector with the lowest tariffs, it started the trend of free unlimited calling to its subscribers. The company kicked out other telecom operators in the country. On the other hand, private telcos like Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea provide restricted voice calling to 250 minutes daily as well as 1000 minutes per week. Only Jio did not cap the voice calling facility that individualised it from the other telecom companies. Afterward, both Airtel and Vodafone Idea removed the voice calling cap as well.

To recall the government-run telecom company BSNL recently launched prepaid voucher Abhinandan-151 that now offers 1.5GB of data per day. Earlier when the prepaid voucher was introduced it offered 1GB of daily data to its subscribers. In addition to this, the plan also offers unlimited local, STD and roaming calls even to Mumbai and Delhi circles, free 100 SMS per day valid up to 24 days from the date of recharge. The new pre-paid plan is being offered in Chennai and Tamil Nadu circles at the moment.

Infinix, a premium smartphone brand from Transsion Holdings group launched the upgraded variant of the S4 smartphone in India. The smartphone has been launched at Rs 10,999. The new variants of the device comes with an upgraded 4GB RAM with 64GB of internal storage. The mobile device comes in three colour variants Nebula Blue, Twilight Purple, and Space Grey. The new version of the Infinix S4 will be available on the Flipkart’s Independence Day sale at a purchasing cost of Rs 8,999 from August 8 onwards. On the other hand, the older version of the Infinix S4 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage will also be available Rs 7,999 during the Independence Day sale.

According to the new renders, the smartwatch will be available in three case colours of each size. In addition to this, the smaller size of Active 2 (40mm) has been showcased with leather straps whereas the 44mm one will come up with smooth silicone straps.

As we mentioned earlier the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 will be launched in three variants.  The three variants include an LTE model, a Bluetooth-only model, and an Under Armour-branded Bluetooth version. It was specified that the Under-Armour variant of the watch will be featuring a trendy sporty strap. The Galaxy Watch Active 2 will be available with six months of free service of MapMyRun included.

During the launch of the Galaxy Watch, the company will be revealing a few heart-related features in the smartwatch, too. But, only Android smartphones will support the LTE feature. However, it is not confirmed if the iOS devices will support the LTE feature. It is rumoured that the company is planning to bring the LTE feature for iOS devices too. The smartwatch will come up with other health-related features such as sleep tracking, Samsung Health integration and on-device coaching.

In a new development, Alexa users now have an option to decide if they want the Amazon.com to listen and record their voice recordings via Alexa. The company has taken this step in order to protect its customer’s privacy. Earlier the company has faced huge criticism that its customer’s privacy is being violated.

Amazon’s new privacy policy came into effect on Friday. As per the new policy now the customers have the power to control their audio data. The users are now allowed to block their audio recordings being analyzed by the company’s employees and contractors. A spokesperson from the Amazon explained, through an option that is present in the settings menu of the Alexa smartphone app permits users to do away with their recordings from a collection. The company is following the same footstep that Apple Inc and Google took in order to safeguard the privacy of its customers.

This was first reported by the online portal Bloomberg a few months ago that the Seattle Company had a group of thousands of employees across the world who analyses Alexa’s Audio recordings in order to improve the software. The employees and contractors listen as well as transcribe the voice recordings. A number of workers also had access to customer’s personal data that also includes their first names as well as their location while reviewing the voice recordings. In this regard, the Company said that a number of audio snippets were being manually analyzed. However, companies like Alphabet Inc.’s Google Assistant and Apple’s Siri were also found to be using the customer’s audio recording for other purposes.

Google took the decision to stop the progress of the reviewing process when Germany’s privacy regulator started inspecting the programme. Previous to this Apple is also supposed to suspend its manual evaluation of its voice assistance programme Siri.

The Amazon spokeswoman wrote in an email on Friday “We take customer privacy seriously and continuously review our practices and procedures. We’ll also be updating information we provide to customers to make our practices more clear.”

Previously Amazon did not disclose that it performs the manual review of the audio recordings in its product’s terms and conditions. But now the company said its Alexa App will take account of a disclaimer the settings list of options that will grant permission to its users to allow if they want the company to use their voice snippets for reviewing via Alexa. This can be done by heading to the Settings then tapping the Alexa Privacy option present within the app and after that tap Manage How Your Data Improves Alexa that further says “With this setting on, your voice recordings may be used to develop new features and manually reviewed to help improve our services. Only an extremely small fraction of voice recordings is manually reviewed.”

BSNL revised the Abhinandan 151 prepaid plan, now offers extra 500MB daily data

The government-run telecom company BSNL launched a prepaid voucher Abhinandan-151 a few weeks ago that offered 1GB of daily data. In a new development, the company now offers an additional 500MB of data, daily. Now the Abhinandan-151 plan offers 1.5GB data per day for a period of 24 days. The new prepaid plan by BSNL is now equivalent to RelianceJio’s Rs 149 prepaid plan that also offers 1.5GB per day for 28 days.

BSNL launched the Abhinandan-151 prepaid plan in the second week of June 2019. Earlier it offered unlimited local, STD and roaming calls even to Mumbai and Delhi circles, together with 1GB daily data. This plan will come with 100 SMS per day. The free offer validity in the plan was available for 24 days and the plan validity was for 180 days. After the revision of the plan, all the free offers are the same as the older one, although the company has enhanced the data plan to 1.5GB. Earlier it offered 1GB data per day. However, the offers will only be valid for the same time period.

Even though the company is offering data up to 1.5GB, in reality, one the limit is over the FUP speeds of 40 Kbps kicks in. That is considered to be an adequate amount to browse the internet as well as sending WhatsApp messages. Here we would like to mention that BSNL does not provide 4G services so the subscribers. They will have to use the whole data benefits either on 2G or 3G networks.

Private telecom companies such as Bharti Airtel and Vodafone-Idea have tried their best to surpass Reliance Jio when it comes to prepaid plans that are below Rs 200. In that case, the state-run BSNL is giving a tough competition to Reliance Jio with its Rs 200 prepaid plans.

Those who are unaware we would like to mention that the Reliance Jio’s Rs 149 prepaid plan provides 1.5GB daily data validity for up to 28 days. On the other hand, after the revision, BSNL Rs 151 prepaid plan offers similar 1.5GB of data per day. Together it comes with unlimited voice calling with no FUP limit as well as free 100 SMS per day during the entire validity. The only variation between both the prepaid plans is the validity. Reliance JioRs 149 prepaid plan offers 28 days of validity. On the other hand, BSNL Rs 151 prepaid plan provides 24 days of validity.

Earlier this year, Samsung announced that it will soon be launching the 64MP sensor mobile phone. This is the highest ever resolution lens that a smartphone will be equipped with. Subsequent to these various reports about Samsung’s decision to launch a smartphone with a 64MP camera, other smartphone brands like Xiaomi and Realmehave also confirmed that its upcoming camera phones will also come with a 64MP sensor on its back panel.

Recently, Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth shared an image on its Twitter account clicked from the 64MP sensor. The Chinese smartphone will come with a 64MP Samsung GW1 camera sensor. Additionally, the company also revealed that the company will launch the smartphone in India first and then it will be unveiled in international markets.

But before that, the South Korean giant, Samsung, is expected to bring the most anticipated smartphone this autumn. The 64-megapixel smartphone will join the company’s Galaxy A-series. According to the latest rumour, it is speculated that the said smartphone will arrive earlier than predicted. The company is expected to launch this a-series smartphone in the month of September or October this year.

 

To recall the smartphone manufacturer introduced the in-house sensor in the form of ISOCELL Bright GW1 which is the company’s own 64-megapixel camera sensor. The 64MP ISOCELL Bright GW1 camera sensor comes with 0.8 microns of pixel size that is alleged to capture 16MP resolution images under low-light conditions. These images will be clicked using Samsung’s Tetracell technology, which is capable of merging four pixels into one. However, the Chinese smartphone company Realme is all set to launch a smartphone with the aforementioned sensor in the month of September this year, too. Ice Universe shared this news along with an image on its official twitter account that said: “By the way, this month, Redmi will also release a 64MP camera phone, Samsung also restarted plans to launch 64MP A series phones in September-October.”

Also, last month Xiaomi teased an image on its official Weibo account that gave an indication of the arrival of the world’s first 64MPcamera smartphone. The shared image reveals the camera sample from Redmi’s first 64-megapixel smartphone. Vivo S1 is up for pre-bookings in India

Vivo is all gearing up to launch its new smartphone Vivo S1 in India on August 7. The company launched its global variant in Indonesia last month. In fact, the company has also sent the invites to the media that says ‘Block Your Calendar’. The Chinese smartphone company has also started pre booking of the upcoming smartphone. It will be launching the S series smartphone for the first time in the country.

The company is taking pre-orders via its official online stores only. As per GizmoChina, in order to pre-book Vivo S1 smartphone, the buyers will have to pay Rs 2,000 as a down payment. However, the company has not commented on the Vivo S1 pre-orders.

As per reports, in order to pre-book the smartphone, consumers need to pay Rs 2,000 as a down payment. The remaining amount can be paid after the launch of the smartphone. The offline sales of the phone will begin at 6 PM on Aug. 7. At present, only the base model of the phone that features 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage is available for pre-booking at the moment. The company has not officially revealed the pricing and details of the upcoming smartphone for Indian consumers, but here is what is known.

Vivo S1 specifications and details

 It is speculated that the global variant of the Vivo S1 will arrive in the country. The device will be powered by an octa-core MediaTekHelio P65 SoC and the smartphone is available in a single variant that has 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It runs Android Pie with Funtouch OS 9 on top. The smartphone features a 6.38-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,340 pixels) Super AMOLED display with a waterdrop-style notch.

The camera capabilities include a triple rear camera setup that includes a 16MP primary sensor with an f/1.78 lens, an 8MP secondary sensor with an f/2.2 wide-angle lens, and a third a 2MP sensor with an f/2.4 lens. On the front, it comes with a 32-megapixel selfie camera sensor with an f/2.0 lens.

The connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and Micro-USB with USB OTG support. The Vivo S1 comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor and it houses a 4,500mAh battery.

Facebook owned instant messaging app WhatsApp has started rolling out a new feature in India called Frequently Forwarded messages. The new feature has been launched both for Android and iOS that allows the users to be acquainted with if the message they have received has been forwarded more than five times. Additionally, WhatsApp has also shortened the longer forwarded messages and to read the full message the users have to tap on the message. The new feature is available for all the consumers who are using the latest version of the messaging app.

The objective behind the rollout of the Frequently Forwarded feature is an endeavor by the company to hold back the spreading of false news on its messaging app. In its frequently asked questions WhatsApp explained, “To maintain the privacy and intimacy within WhatsApp, we limit how you can forward a message. When you forward a message, you can choose to share with up to five chats at one time. When a message is forwarded from one user to another user more than five times, this is indicated with a double arrow icon. The number of times a message has been forwarded is end-to-end encrypted.”

This new feature is in addition to WhatsApp’s forwarded label intended for messages that were introduced last year. The new Frequently Forwarded feature was spotted on the beta version in March this year.

Introducing the new feature WhatsApp’s spokesperson said, “We have recently introduced an update to our forwarded message label that helps people identify when they have received messages that were previously forwarded several times, such as a chain message. These highly forwarded messages will be marked with a double arrow icon and users will receive a notification when they are forwarding such a message,”

To recall, the Facebook-owned WhatsApp is also planning to introduce its own payment service called WhatsApp Pay in the country. WhatsApp’s Global Head Will Cathcart confirmed that the company is determined to roll-out the payment service in India by the end of this year. The company will also act in accordance with the Indian regulations that also include data storage standards and will adhere to local data storing policies.

Mark Zuckerberg said “We’re also working beyond India in a number of other countries and hope to have this rolled out to a large percent of the people who use WhatsApp within the next year,”

In addition to this, the Supreme Court of India has inquired with the Reserve Bank of India to proveWhatsApp’s agreement with local data set of laws for its payments service is in tandem with the countries regulations. The Court has also ordered to report back within six weeks.

On the imaging front, Realme 3i features a dual rear camera setup that includes a 13MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 lens and 2MP secondary sensor. It sports a 13MP sensor on the front for selfies and video calls.
