Recently Redmi’s General Manager shared a teaser of the most awaited smartphone by Xiaomi called Redmi Note 8 along with a concept-based render. And now the company has revealed the details of the upcoming device by the company’s sub-brand. The new Redmi Note 8 series of smartphones will arrive with a high screen-to-body ratio along with a bigger battery and better camera capabilities.
In addition to this, a live image of Redmi Note 8 has surfaced on the web displaying the rear panel of the device giving us the first glimpse of the smartphone sporting a glossy black finish.
Xiaomi’s sub-brand’s executive shared the details of the Note 8 on his Weibo account. According to the post, Redmi Note 8 phone might arrive with a 64-megapixel camera. To support this Weibing recently shared a short video revealing that the upcoming smartphone will be featuring a quad rear camera along with a 64MP sensor. The sensor will be supported by the Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 that the company confirmed the Note 8 will come with.
Now the General Manager has also revealed that Redmi Note 8 will offer a longer battery life, which means a bigger battery. He also mentioned that the successor of the Redmi Note 7 will come with a higher screen-to-body ratio. This hints that the smartphone might feature a pop-up selfie camera, too.
On the other hand, Weibing also teased that Xiaomi will launch a 70-inch TV at an event to be held in China on August 29. In addition to this, SlashLeaks has also shared some alleged images on the Redmi Note 8. The images shared revealed the blueprint of the smartphone. As per the leaked images, the phone will be featuring a quad rear camera set up. The back panel of the device has a glossy black finish along with curved edges. Over that, the bottom of the phone features a 3.5mm headphone jack, a microphone hole, speaker and a USB Type-C port.

Once your old Android smartphone has been reset to its factory conditions, there will be no way of retrieving the lost data.
Once you are ready though, you need to follow these steps to reset your Android smartphone to its factory condition:
Go to Settings.
Head to System > Advanced > Reset options.
You will now see three options: ‘Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth’, ‘Reset app preferences’ and ‘Erase all data (factory reset)’. Choose ‘Erase all data (factory reset)’ in order to delete all the data from your Android smartphone.
Once you choose the option, you will get a warning that all the data from your smartphone will be deleted and your accounts will be removed from the device too. Select the option of ‘Reset phone’ to go ahead with it.
In case you have set a password on your device, you will be asked to enter that too.
You will then be asked again if you are sure you want to delete everything. Here, just press the option of ‘Erase everything’.
Once you do this, it will take two or three to reset your Android device to its factory settings.
Google has finally made Go search app available for Android users across the world. Google Go is the lighter version of its search app that is quick and only 7 MB in size. At the initial stage, the search engine has made the new version of Google Go available in a small number of markets that is now available for the users on the Play Store there.
As per Sensor Towers’s report, roughly around 17.5 million times across the world the app has been installed already. The data says Indians are the highest in the percentage with 48% of users in total.
Sunder Pichai on its Twitter account shared, “Starting today, our lightweight search app #GoogleGo will be available globally on the @GooglePlay store. As demo’d at #io19, Lens in #GoogleGo can help translate and search the words you see around you, and even read them aloud.”
It can now be installed on Android devices running Android 5.0 Lollipop and above. Google Go allows the user to utilise a reduced amount of storage on their phones without slowing it down. Apart from that it also provides search results as well as helps the user to retain information of their previous search results, which can be used in the future.
Previously the technology giant Google at its I/O 2019 conference displayed the Lens incorporated into the Go app and also demonstrated how it works. Chinese technology company OnePlus is gearing up to launch its own smart TV. The company’s CEO Pete Lau has confirmed that it will be launching its first-ever OnePlus TV in the Indian market first. The OnePlus TV is set to be launch in September; however, the company has not confirmed the date it will be unveiled on. We expect to get more details about the new offering by the Chinese company as of September approaches.
The company’s CEO and co-founder Pete Lau announced the name of its first offering in the segment: OnePlus TV. Last week the company also revealed the logo of the upcoming device. Mr. Lau announced this news on the OnePlus forums that say, “I have a very exciting announcement to share with you – the OnePlus TV is set to launch in September, and it will be available in India first.”
In the blog, he stated that the company is working hard to establish partnerships with most of the local and regional content providers in countries like North America, Europe and China regions.
“We all know, “content is king,” which remains one of the major reasons for television’s continued relevance in our lives. Yet, the content ecosystem is quite different from one country to another. We have always had a very positive relationship with content providers in India, who have always been willing to partner with us, which guarantees great content for our users.”
The company has also confirmed that the OnePlus TV will be available for purchase on Amazon and the TV has also been listed on the e-retail’s website with a dedicated page. Amazon has also started taking registrations of interested parties.
In another blog post that was posted last week, revealing the name and the logo of the TV, also explained the purpose of opting for the smart TV as OnePlus TV. “Yes, we are going to call our very first smart TV product OnePlus TV” – simple yet to-the-point – as we believe there’s no other name that can best represent our value, vision, and pride than naming it with our own brand.” the blog post stated
To recall a few weeks ago a report floated online stating that the company will be launching multiple series of OnePlus TVs that will be available in four sizes including 43-inches, 55-inches, 65-inches, and 75-inches. As per the rumours OnePlus TV will be supported by Bluetooth 5.0 along with 4K HDR displays.

IT security solutions provider Quick Heal Security Lab discovered 27 malicious apps of dropper category on the official “Google Play Store”. When reported, Google removed them from the Play Store that encouraged the users to uninstall them on their devices, too. According to the security provider, these 27 apps always show installation prompt for fake “Google Play Store”.
If the user installs the fake app then their phone gets infected by an Adware. The parent apps launch dropped apps without the need for the user’s permission. In the beginning, the app will show a few wallpapers later it hides its icon so that the users could not identify which app is showing the advertisements.
Inadvertently the user uninstalls the parent app, but it will continue to show full screen adds at random.
According to Quick Heal, “These Apps were published by the same developer with name “AFAD Drift Racer”. All these apps belong to the free Car Racing Games category.”
After the user installs the app it will constantly display an installation prompt of fake Google Play Store that asks the user to install Google Play Store for gaming purpose. If the user terminates the installation prompt it will again pop-up endlessly until the user installs the app. But as a matter of fact, for gaming purposes Google Play Games is necessary. If any game is not supported by the latest version of Google Play Games, then there is a pop-up to update “Google Play Games” therefore passing the security protocol is important. Actually, Google Play Games by no means downloads itself nor does it show a pop-up for installation.
“After installing the fake Google Play Store app, we can see it for a few seconds and then it automatically hides its icon. The app keeps on running in the background and shows full-screen ads till you don’t uninstall it manually. Showing aggressive ads and making money from them is a monetization concept used by malware authors. In this case, even if the user is not using the app, still full-screen ads are shown. This not only degrades user experience but also wastes his time.”
Quick Heal Mobile Security notices these apps by detection the name “Android.Dropper.F” and the dropped apps by detection name “Android.HiddenAd.A”.
The user can also check if a fake Google Play Store is installed on their phone by following these steps:
Go to Setting-> Apps & notifications OR Settings -> App Manager. This would change as per your Phone Manufacturer.
Identify fake Google Play Store as shown below. Genuine Google Play Store app can never be uninstalled and shows the option of disable instead.
If such a Google Play Store app is found on your phone, you should Uninstall it immediately.
How to stay safe from fake mobile apps
1. Check an app’s description before you download it.
2. Check the app developer’s name and their website. If the name sounds strange or odd, you have all the reasons to suspect it.
3. Go through the reviews and ratings of the app. But, note that these can also be faked.
4. Avoid downloading apps from third-party app stores.
5. Use a reliable mobile antivirus that can prevent fake and malicious apps from getting installed on your phone.

Chinese smartphone makers Oppo, Vivo, and Xiaomi have signed a deal in cooperation to create a new cross-brand transmission alliance. The alliance will smoothen the progress of file transmission between the three smartphone brands. That means the users of any of the aforementioned smartphone brands can transfer files at up to 20 MB between Xiaomi, Vivo and Oppo phones without the need for any third-party application. The file transferring feature will be available on devices that run on MIUI, ColorOS, and FuntouchOS. However, it is not confirmed that when this feature will arrive.
Both MIUI, ColorOS, and FuntouchOS have officially shared the news of the collaboration on their Weibo accounts that highlights the coalition in excess of a file transmission technology. The companies also shared the features of the cross-brand transmission alliance and its benefits. Essentially, the joint venture will try to create a file-sharing system for the users that will allow them to directly share their files without having to install a dedicated third-party file sharing app.

On Tuesday, the Chinese smartphone company, Realme, unveiled two smartphones for the first time in India. The company launched Realme 5 Pro and Realme 5 in the budget smartphone segment. The biggest USP of both the devices is the quad rear camera setup. With this camera set up, Realme 5 comes at a starting price of Rs 9,999. Realme 5 Pro has been launched in three storage variants 4GB RAM/ 64GB, 6GB RAM/ 64GB and 8GB RAM/ 128GB. The base variant that is 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage comes at Rs 13,999 while the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage and the 8GB RAM/ 128GB storage variant has been priced at Rs14, 999 and Rs 16,999 respectively. The device will be put up for sale via Flipkart as well as the Realme website on September 4 at 12 noon in the country. Henceforth, will go on sale through the offline retail stores as well. The phone is available in two colour options Crystal Green and Sparkling Blue colour.
On the other hand, Realme 5 will be available in three storage variants 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage, 4GB/ 64GB storage and 4GB RAM/ 128GB storage. The 3GB RAM/ 32GB version will be sold at Rs 9,999, the 4GB/ 64GB variant will come at Rs 10, 999 whereas 4GB RAM/ 128GB one can be purchased for Rs 11,999.
Now coming on the launch offers, Realme 5 Pro buyers can avail Jio benefits worth up to Rs 7,000 along with no-cost EMIs. The company is also offering Flipkart’s Complete Mobile Protection at lower rates along with Paytm’s first membership. If you buy the phone via Paytm you will get a cashback of up to Rs 2,000. Whereas, Realme 5 buyer is also being offered a similar offer except for no-cost EMI option.
Apart from that, the Chinese company has also launched Realme accessories alongside both smartphones. Realme’s iconic case that is priced at Rs 399 will be available for purchase from September 21 whereas Realme Buds 2 and Realme Tote Bag will be made available for purchase from September 4 and will be priced at Rs 599 and Rs 1,199 respectively.

It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 SoC and runs Color OS 6.0 based on Android 9 Pie. The phone comes in three variants 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB of RAM with 64GB and 128GB inbuilt storage options. It has a 4,035mAh battery capable of VOOC 3.0 fast charging tech.
Realme 5 Pro features a quad rear camera setup with a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 primary sensor, coupled with PDAF and an f/1.8 aperture with an 8-megapixel secondary sensor with an f/2.25 aperture and a 119-degree wide-angle lens Third 2-megapixel macro lens (f/2.4 aperture + 4cm focus distance), and a 2-megapixel portrait lens (f/2.4 aperture). Out of the blue Google Enterprise leaked the new upcoming smartphone from Huawei. Android Enterprise Solutions Directory revealed the specifications and details of the Huawei P Smart Pro that is the successor of the Huawei P Smart. The P Smart was launched by the company in December last year. The key highlight of the smartphone includes a 6.5-inch display with 4GB RAM and will run on Android 9.0 Pie.
However, the listing that was accidentally published has now been removed. It reveals the front display of the Huawei P Smart Pro. As per the listing, the upcoming device will be featuring a 6.5-inch display and it may be sporting a Full HD+ resolution. Moreover, the phone will come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage.
The Huawei P smart Pro will run Android 9.0 Pie OS. On the other hand, it will also be featuring a fingerprint scanner as its security feature. However, it’snot confirmed that if the fingerprint sensor will be placed under the display or on the rear panel.

Last Month Xiaomi launched the Mi A3 smartphone globally. Mi A3 is the successor of the Xiaomi’s Mi A2 smartphone, which the company launched last year. But ahead of its launch, Mi A3 (by mistake) got listed on the Amazon India website revealing the price of the device. According to a report that was also the first one to report the launch date of the devices now claims that it has found the reference of the Apple Watch within the watchOS 6 operating system. The online portal claims that the operating system of the watchOS 6 is also under testing hence confirms the existence of the new ceramic and titanium watch models.

It suggests that the new Apple Watch will be launched in two casings, titanium as well as ceramic. The upgraded version of the watch will arrive in 40mm along with 44mm sizes similar to the Apple Watch Series 4.
Those who are unaware, Apple Watch Series 4 never had a model made of titanium while ceramic casing. The company only offered the ceramic casing for Series 2 and Series 3 watches with premium price tags and only two black and white colour options. Both the materials will be used in the new Apple Watch Series casing, now. The titanium variant looks similar to the Apple Card that the company is rolling out this month.
The report said, “Apple Watch has never had a model made of titanium, and the Apple Watch Series 4 (currently the only one with the 44mm size case) has no ceramic version. The new materials will also be available in 40mm size.”
However, it is still not clear that the new variants will join the Apple Watch Series 4 lineup or it will be a part of rumoured new Apple Watch Series 5.

The iPhone XR upgraded variant will arrive with a 6.1-inch LCD display and the iPhone XS Max successor will be sporting a 6.5-inch display.
All the variants will come with an unchanged front display however it is speculated that the company is planning to add a redesigned mute switch to the devices that is used on the iPad series. On the rear, all the models will come with an additional camera sensor placed in a square-shaped module. The square-shaped triple camera module looks identical to the forthcoming Google Pixel 4 that the company has already revealed prior to its launch.
It is expected that along with an OLED display the rear camera set up will include a 12MP telephoto lens, a wide-angle lens, and an ultra-wide-angle lens. On the front instead of using the 7MP sensor, the company will make use of the 12MP camera sensor as well.
The reports also suggest that all the models will be replacing the iPhone XS series and would be equipping a triple rear camera set up while the iPhone 11 base model will come up dual rear camera set up only.

Last week Reliance Jio in its 42nd Annual General Meeting announced various services including fiber-based fixed-line broadband service, JioFiber, in India. This service will start on September 5. The other services include Jio set-top box, Jio Postpaid Plus plans for JioFiber users, the Jio Fiber Welcome Offer as well. At the meeting Reliance Industries Limited also demonstrated the working of the set-top box and also revealed its features. However, Mukesh Ambani did not reveal the pricing of the product. Many people are waiting for broadband services along with TV services and also curious to know how these services will hold opposing views from the ones that are currently accessible.
Reliance Jio set-top box will offer various services like Ultra HD entertainment, VR content, Multi-party video conferencing, Voice-enabled virtual assistants, home security, some smart home solutions, and interactive gaming. In addition to this, the company has also announced that the Jio Set-Top-Box users can also access the local cable operators like Hathway Cable and DEN Networks
Range of Apps Reliance Jio set-top box subscribers will also be offered a range of apps that comes with live TV, video-on-demand content and more. But currently, the company is in no mood to bring the content feature as it should be for the Television. The telecom operator will be able to cater to this content on the bigger screens with the use of the Jio set-top box. The new Jio set-top box will be compatible with all the game controllers that would also allow gaming companies to provide more games to the end-user. The company in its demonstration also displayed the use of MR and VR services for the customers. Last but not the least the Jio set-top box will also be offering the JioCall feature. With this feature, users would be able to call up to four people at once with the use of JioFiber broadband service. Currently, the only competitor to Reliance Jio in the market is Airtel Internet TV. Airtel internet service comes with Android TV support but it is short of features like VR or MR and comes at a price tag of Rs 3,499 and at the moment it serves OTT apps along with many other features.
Mukesh Ambani has also revealed that the users will now be able to watch movies on the same day they are released. These new services will be called as First-Day-First-Show. The service will start in the middle of 2020. The plans start from Rs 700 and go up toRs 10,000 per month. More details about the tariffs will be available from September 5 on Jio.com and MyJio application.

Google has removed 85 problematic apps from its Play Store. This development came immediately after when Trend Micro exposed that these apps were hiding adware inside them. Google was informed that the majority of these apps were camouflaged as photography apps and games and were downloaded more than 8 million times.
As per Ecular Xu, mobile threat response engineer at Trend Micro said, “We found another example of adware’s potential real-life impact on Google Play. Trend Micro detects this as AndroidOS_Hidenad.HRXH. It isn’t your run-of-the-mill adware family: Apart from displaying advertisements that are difficult to close, it employs unique techniques to evade detection through user behavior and time-based triggers.”
After downloading the app every time the user unlocks the device the adware will carry out quite a lot of tests before it performs its routines. Firstly it will compare the current time of the device’s system time with the help of timestamp stored as install time. After that, it compares the network time (queried via RESTful API) with the help of timestamp stored as networkInstallTime. With this, the app will be able to verify if it has been installed on the device with the default delay time configured to 30 minutes. The blog post says, “To a certain extent, using network time can evade time-based detection techniques or triggers employed by traditional sandboxes, as the app’s time settings can be configured by simply using networkInstallTime.”
After 30 minutes the app will then hide its icon and create a shortcut on the device’s home screen. This would prevent the app from being uninstalled by dragging and dropping its icon to the Uninstall section of the screen. In order to avoid this, the app brings into play Java reflection that will allow the apps to inspect or to modify the behavior of the app and encodes the API strings in base64.
The app also uses one more Broadcast Receiver to detect if the user has unlocked its device. Once detected it will start displaying advertisements on the screen. Besides this it also tests the last ad shown on the screen so that it does not displays the same advertisements too often
“While the apps do have actual functionalities of the applications they are posing as, these ads are shown in full screen. Users are forced to view the whole duration of the ad before being able to close it or go back to the app itself. Moreover, the frequency of ads being displayed can be remotely configured by the fraudster (the default is five minutes), so it could exacerbate the nuisance for users.”

Identical to WhatsApp the photo-sharing app now also displays “Instagram from Facebook” branding. The new branding WhatsApp from Facebook is now noticeable at the bottom of the settings menu.
In order to improve both the apps, the company has taken many steps over the past year. However this it, not the first time the company has made such a move, the company made use of similar branding for its supplementary products similar to Workplace. The workplace is the company’s work venture chat tool. To add its name to Instagram and Whatsapp has been shocking and puzzling that reflects the autonomy that the units have operated under the Social media platform’s regulations.
Before this change, the company also rolled out another new update in which now the user will be able to unlock the app using their device’s fingerprint sensor that we mentioned earlier. The new update arrives with Android beta version 2.19.221 that comes disabled by default. To allow it the users can head to settings option available with the app where they can add a layer of protection to their app chats in order to make it more secure and private. All they have to do is go to WhatsApp Settings > Account > Privacy > Fingerprint lock. The new feature is made available for the device that runs on Android Marshmallow or higher and also comes with a fingerprint scanner.
Once enabling the Fingerprint lock the user needs to draw on fingerprint authentication to unlock WhatsApp. The user can select from an automatic lock option as per their preference. When the user selects this option he/she will be asked to confirm their identity by using the fingerprint authentication in order to open or close the app.

Recently the Chinese smartphone company Xiaomi officially confirmed the existence of the Redmi Note 8. The company’s General Manager LU Weibing confirmed the presence of the smartphone. Prior to its launch, the said smartphone has finally appeared on the website of the Chinese regulator TENAA. As per the TENAA listing, the smartphone comes with the model number M1908C3IC. The listing also mentions that Redmi Note 8 will be sporting a dual rear camera setup along with a teardrop-style display notch. Additionally, the Chinese regulatory authority also reveals the specifications of the upcoming device.
The smartphone will be the upgraded version of the Redmi Note 7 smartphone that was launched by the company earlier this year. There are also rumours that unlike Redmi Note 7 the company is planning to launch Redmi Note 8 in its budget segment series of devices. The forthcoming phone carries a model number M1908C3IC that is identical to the model number of the existing Note 7 phone. The Redmi Note 7 also appeared on the listing of the TENAA prior to its official launch.
Along with the latest smartphone images, the website also confirms that Xiaomi has also received a green signal from the regulator. The listed images showcased the Redmi logo along with the ‘Design by Xiaomi‘ branding on the rear panel of the smartphone. It also reveals that the smartphone looks exactly similar to the previously launched Note 7 along with teardrop-style display notch on the front of the device. The company mentions the display notch as dot notch. On the rear panel, the phone will be featuring a dual rear camera setup along with an LED flash module. The back panel also consists of the rounded fingerprint sensor.

The upcoming device by Xiaomi will be powered by an octa-core SoC clocked at 2.0GHz, along with 2GB, 3GB, and 4GB RAM options with 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB of internal storage options that can be expanded up to 512 GB via microSD card. The Redmi Note 8 runs Android 9 Pie and will arrive with a 6.217-inch HD+ (720×1,520 pixels) TFT display along with a 19:9 aspect ratio.

Bharti Airtel has launched a new offer where it is offering 1.5GB data per day for a time period of 224 days to its subscribers. The company is offering this offer to new customers who are buying Airtel 4G Hotspot. Apart from that, the company is also offering an additional cashback of Rs 1,000 to new subscribers. The telecom operator is offering a cashback offer only to its postpaid subscribers. For this, the customers have to select the Rs 399 or Rs 499 plans. On the contrary, the company has no such offing for prepaid customers.

Earlier the company was offering its hotspot device for Rs 999. Now after the price revision it is being offered at Rs 2000. That means now the user has to pay Rs 1000 extra to purchase the hotspot device. After purchasing the device the subscribers will need to recharge their Aircel 4G hotspot device. The company is offering two plans the subscribers can either recharge with Rs 399 recharge plan or the Rs 499 recharge plan. In addition to this, the customers will have to pay Rs 300 in order to activate the hotspot device. After this, the company will benefit the subscribers with the cashback of Rs 1000 that will be credited to their postpaid account. The credited amount can be further used for bill payments in the future. On the recharge of Rs 399, the company is offering 50GB data for one month while Rs 499 recharge plan offers 75GB data per month. Here we would like to mention that the Rs 399 postpaid plan is being offered in selected parts of the country.
