The troubles of Chinese smartphone maker Huawei are increasing by the day. In the last few days, a number of companies have suspended its business with the smartphone maker. The reason for this is that the US government has placed a ban on all the companies based in the country from doing business with Huawei. Once the United States government made this announcement, Google revoked Huawei’s license for using its Android platform in the future along with other its products and services. Followed by this, Intel, Qualcomm, ARM, and Microsoft also halted their business with Huawei. And now, joining in on the ban is the SD Association (the trade group which agrees upon the standardized specs of the SD and microSD cards. The SD Association has removed Huawei from being a member of the association. So now, Huawei won’t be able to put the official SD or microSD card support in its future smartphones or laptops.
According to 9to5Google, after the ban Huawei won’t be able to put microSD or SD cards in its future smartphones or laptops. But the existing devices will still work and support the microSD and SD cards.
The news was confirmed by the SD Association to Android Authority that Huawei’s removal from the group was a result of Donald Trump’s executive order. Earlier, Huawei made it clear that it was working on its own OS for its future smartphones and laptops and after being banned by Google it said that it had planned that move in the past. But as the ban’s noose is tightening around Huawei from all the major electronics maker of the world, the company’s problems are far from over and the way out seems lost for the company.
Although losing the capability to put SD cards in their devices might not be a big blow to Huawei as it has its own proprietary Nano-Memory cards. These cards are smaller than the microSD cards and in its newer devices, Huawei has replaced the more universal standards entirely.
As mentioned above, before SD Association, Google, ARM, Intel, Qualcomm and Broadcom have also broken their ties with Huawei. In addition to this, the Wi-Fi Alliance (the Wi-Fi standards setter) has also ‘temporarily restricted’ Huawei’s membership after the US trade ban. Huawei has also left JEDEC (a semiconductor standards group known for defining the RAM specifications) voluntarily. As mentioned above, all the roads for Huawei lead to a dead end and if this continues up we could see the Chinese electronic maker crumble to peices.

The US trade ban on Huawei has resulted in a number of problems for the technology company. Among the biggest of these is that Google has suspended its business with the manufacturer and revoked its license for the Android operating system. This has put a dark cloud on Huawei’s smartphone business, considering that Android is the most popular mobile operating system in the world.
In the latest development on this front, the company’s two premium smartphones – Huawei Mate X and Huawei P30 Pro – have been delisted from Android.com. We should mention that the website has details of every smartphone that runs on the software. The Huawei Mate X and P30 Pro were a part of the featured list till now, along with other premium smartphones like Samsung Galaxy S10, LG V50 ThinQ 5G. In addition to this, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro has also been removed from the Android Q beta page.
There is absolutely no mention of the Huawei Mate X and Huawei P30 Pro from Google’s official Android homepage. We should add here that while Huawei Mate X is the company’s first 5G foldable smartphone, the P30 Pro is the first ever device to come with 50x optical zoom. This development was first spotted by 9to5Google.
It is worth noticing that these aren’t the only smartphones that have been delisted from Android forums. The Huawei Mate 20 Pro has also been removed from the Android Q beta device list. The Chinese smartphone company had taken registrations for the Android Q Beta 3 two weeks back. However, the participation was limited to developers who have at least one app published on the Google Play Store.
Besides Google, other companies like Intel, Qualcomm, Broadcom and ARM have also suspended their dealings with Huawei. We should point out that all of them that the leading chipmakers in the world. Since all of them have now halted their respective businesses with Huawei, it definitely spells trouble for the Chinese smartphone company.
This is particularly true for ARM, as the company took designs from the chipmaker to make its own processors. While ARM is actually based in the United Kingdom, is halted its business with Huawei because it produces some of its chips in the United States.
While Huawei is said to have stockpiled enough components from these companies to last three months to a year, it is not a permanent solution for the smartphone maker. The company is bound to run out the stock one day and it will be nearly impossible for it to produce a smartphone without these companies then.

After the launch of Samsung Galaxy S10, users and the smartphone industry is waiting for the Galaxy Note 10. Like previous years, the South Korean teach giant will release its Galaxy Note device in the second half of the year. It is known that the Samsung Galaxy Note devices pack all the features of the Samsung Galaxy S-series and also has some additional ones. One feature which is unique and reserved only for the Samsung Galaxy Note devices is the S pen which makes it stand apart others. It is estimated that the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 will be launching in August this year and leaks show that this time, there will be as much as four variants of the device. A new render has surfaced online which reveals what the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 10 will look like.
Despite earlier beliefs, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 will not hold similar design aspects as the Samsung Galaxy S10. A recent render showed that the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 will come with an Infinity-O hole-punch display rather than the hold-punch display that we saw in the Galaxy S10. There will also be a multi-camera (most probably Quad-camera setup) setup at the back.
But both the rear camera and the front camera placement in the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 will be different than the Samsung Galaxy S10. The front camera will be placed at the centre while the back cameras will be placed vertically instead of horizontally like the Galaxy S10. The renders were created by PhoneArena and they show how the cameras will be placed and what the device will look like.
Another leak states that the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 will come in four variants – two differently sized 4G devices and two 5G connectivity options. The renders reveal that the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 will come with a built-in stylus. Earlier, we also saw that the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 will pack a battery similar to the Galaxy S10 series.
Similar to how the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 was different in design than the Samsung Galaxy S9, the upcoming Galaxy Note 10 will also come with design different than the Galaxy S10 series. The difference in design will make it stand apart than the already popular Samsung Galaxy S10 and will give it a chance to make a name for itself.
Snapchat recently launched some new filters on its platform and some of them have instantly become social media trends. Snapchat baby filter and gender-swap filters are good examples of this. But then, the app is full of other very interesting gaming filters and other effects that you must know about as you will not find them anywhere else. Check out the list of such Snapchat filters here:
Baby filter
The baby filter has become a rage on social media. No matter which app you login to, you will find people posting their pictures looking like a baby. It is all thanks to the Snapchat baby filter. You will find an icon in the filters section of the app that shows a yellow hoodie. Click on it to get the Snapchat baby filter and a blue dotted outline of the face and a toy will appear on the screen.
Gender-swap filters
Another social media trend that has become tremendously popular is the gender-swap photos that people are posting. These pictures are also originating from Snapchat. The app has got two filters, one that makes people look like a woman, and the other that makes them look all manly with a beard. So, the face and the features remain the same, but the gender changes.
Men are posting their pictures looking like a woman on social media since this filter has been launched, while women are posting pictures in which they look like men. You should try the filter if you wish to know what you would look like if you belonged to the opposite gender.
Wild Checkers filter
Once you click on this filter, the game of Wild Checkers will begin on Snapchat. You can play the game within the app itself and click pictures while doing so. You can also send it to your friends or post it as a Story on Snapchat as you would need another player to play the game and others can join in only via Stories. It’s a very interesting game and we recommend you to try it with a friend.
Archery filter
Another very interesting filter on Snapchat, this one lets you play three rounds of archery. Using AI, Snapchat has added a dart board in the game and it gives you three arrows that you need to aim at the board. Once the game is over, you will be able to share your score with others via a Snap. You can also share it as a Story if you want to invite others to play with you.
Truth or Dare filter
This one is our favourite. Everyone has played truth or dare at least some time in their lives and now, it is time to play it on Snapchat. The Snapchat has created the game using AI and it first asks you whether you want to choose ‘Truth’ or ‘Dare’. On selecting Truth, a blue bubble will pop over your screen and ask you a certain question like “Have you ever been kicked out of anywhere?” or “How do plan to spend your days when you get old?”. You can hold the record button and answer the question. One clicking ‘Dare’ a Red bubble will pop-up and you’ll be asked to do things like roll your eyes dramatically. You can record these and share with friends.
Snap bowling filter
You can now also go bowling on Snapchat! Just go to the bowling filter and press on the ‘Start’ button. You will be taken to a screen that looks exactly like a bowling alley. We completely missed the shot when we tried to play, but that doesn’t mean you will to. You should definitely try the filter. It’s a great one.
Bits and pieces filter
This is another gaming-filter on Snapchat. It is a puzzle-based game in which pieces randomly appear and you have to pick them and put them wherever they fit. You’ll enjoy it if you like such games.
Nose ring filter
We think only women would use the nose ring filter, but it’s definitely a very interesting one. When it’ll detect your face, it will make a small stud appear on the left side of your nose. If you tap on it, a ring will appear in the middle of your nose. And if you tap again, a nose ring will appear on the right side of your nose.
WhatsApp is constantly trying to bring new and updated features to its platform to make it more secure and safe for its users. Now, WhatsApp will be adding a new feature to its platform, which will let you share your WhatsApp Status as a Facebook Story. This new feature was spotted on the new WhatsApp beta version 2.19.151 for Android. It was seen on the beta version and is currently not accessible for public usage.
The new feature will let the users post their WhatsApp Status as Facebook Stories. The new beta version also comes with a new feature which would let the users share their contacts information using a QR code. It is somewhat similar to the QR code-backed Nametag feature on Instagram.
The new feature was spotted first by WABetaInfo and according to the tipster, the instant-messaging platform will be adding a new ‘Add to Facebook Story’ button on the Status section of WhatsApp. By clicking it, the users can upload the same WhatsApp Status to their Facebook Story. With the arrival of the new Status sharing button, WhatsApp and Facebook integration will be strengthened.
Other than the Sharing Status feature, the new beta version also has the new QR code button. This button will allow the users to share their profiles and add contacts through the QR codes of the users. Although this is not a new feature as it was spotted in November of 2018, but this time it has been brought to the beta version of the application.
To share the contacts, the users will need to tap the QR code button from the profile section. From there, WhatsApp will show the QR code of the users’ profile which could be used by other users to add the user to their contact list. The QR code will be scanned through the camera and then the information will be displayed on the users’ smartphone.
This new feature could become an important feature to WhatsApp Business, as it would let the users share their QR codes directly on their websites or applications. As mentioned above, this QR code sharing feature is similar to Instagram’s Nametag sharing feature which lets the users share their profile to other users.

Although WhatsApp hasn’t made it clear if these new features will be brought to the stable version of the application or not, and if yes then when? But these features will be available to the beta testers of WhatsApp in the coming days.

OnePlus 7 Pro was launched earlier this month and it instantly garnered great reviews about its performance and features. However, there were those who were not particularly happy with its camera performance. But now, the company will be rolling out a software update to fix that. A report has surfaced online that claims that OnePlus has not integrated 3x optical zoom technology that it advertised in the smartphone. Instead of the 3x optical zoom, OnePlus 7 Pro only comes with 2.2x optical zoom. The rest of the 0.8x zoom is realised via the SmartCapture cropping.
While this may be very negligible for those who are using the smartphone’s camera only for regular photography, for professional users, this difference may mean a lot. The OnePlus 7 Pro offers 57mm focal length instead of the 78mm, which may even be a deal breaker for some. We should point out that the company used the same marketing strategy when it was promoting the OnePlus 5 too. The issue was first spotted by Android Police and it was initially discovered by Reddit user /u/ImKuya.
The report also has two pictures, among which one is taken from the 3x zoom mode and the other is taken from a telephoto lens using the portrait mode. The field of view can be seen as wider in the portrait mode than in the 3x zoom mode, even though the same telephoto lens and sensor have been used. In addition to this, the photo taken with portrait mode is produced at a resolution of 13MP, which the one was taken with 3x zoom is produced at 8MP.
For a professional photographer, the difference in the numbers is big and misleading. Speaking about the report, OnePlus has said in a statement, “The OnePlus 7 Pro has 3x zoom with no digital zoom or loss of detail. The telephoto camera serves two main purposes: 3x zoom and portrait mode photography. It will switch the field of view depending on the camera mode. With 3x zoom, the telephoto camera delivers the advertised lossless 8 megapixels images. Portrait mode utilizes all 13 megapixels from the sensor in the telephoto camera.”
To recall, OnePlus 7 Pro runs Android 9.0 Pie skinned with OxygenOS on top and sports a 6.67-inch curved Quad HD+ Fluid AMOLED display that has a refresh rate of 90Hz, can support HDR10+ and an A+ quality rating by DisplayMate.
Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC clubbed with Adreno 640 GPU, OnePlus 7 Pro has up to 12GB of RAM. The handset has 256GB of internal storage and comes with support for UFS 3.0 storage, which promises enhanced read-write speeds.
For imaging duties, OnePlus 7 Pro comes with a triple rear camera that comprises of a 48MP primary Sony IMX586 sensor, an 8MP telephoto sensor, and a 16MP wide-angle sensor. There is a 16MP pop-up selfie camera on the device. OnePlus 7 Pro houses a 4,000mAh battery that is backed by Warp Charge 30W fast charging technology.

After Intel announced its new and most powerful PC CPU till date – the Core I9 – it was speculated that it will be used mostly in the desktops. However, MSI has announced a new laptop named the MSI GT76 Titan which is powered by an unlocked, desktop-class Core i9 CPU into its laptop sized frame.
The new the MSI GT76 Titan, according to the company, packs the ninth generation ‘full desktop’ unlocked Intel Core i9 CPU into its chassis. The company also said that the high-end model of the MSI GT76 Titan will pack an 8-core, 16-thread configuration which can be overclocked up to 5GHz. But to pack that much overclocking, speed and power, the laptop would need a world-class cooling system or it wouldn’t end well for the MSI GT76 Titan.
For cooling, the MSI GT76 Titan packs four fans and 11 heat pipes. According to the company, the new gaming laptop will generate more than twice the airflow. With this kind of cooling, the MSI GT76 Titan can be pushed close to 5GHz.
For graphics, the MSI GT76 Titan packs a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 GPU which is one of the most advanced GPU brought by NVIDIA for 2019. The RTX 2080 crammed inside the MSI GT76 Titan also comes with a dedicated Ray Tracing and tensor cores. It might be one of the best GPUs out there but with its configuration, the company could have put the ReForce RTX 2080 Ti in the new laptops.
The MSI GT76 Titan would be competing against the Alienware Area 51M gaming laptop. The Area 51M gaming laptop from Alienware comes with a socketed Core i9-9900K. And in a way, the MSI GT76 Titan might be the same in CPU and processing power. But it is clear that these laptops are a gaming desktop replacement and although they might not be easy to carry, they are still portable and a hybrid.
Talking about the design aspect of the new laptop, the MSI GT76 Titan comes with a car-inspired design as it has put lighting on the underside of the chassis. There is also full RGB backlit keyboard on the new laptop. Currently the launch date and the pricing of the new laptop hasn’t been revealed by the company but it will soon be announced. Considering the specifications of the new MSI GT76 Titan, the price no doubt will be on the premium high-end side.

South Korean technology giant Samsung unveiled its first foldable smartphone, Galaxy Fold, at the launch of its Galaxy S10 series this year. However, things did not go in favour of the company with the Samsung Galaxy Fold. A few review units that Samsung sent to the members of the technology press in the US reportedly broke within a day or two of usage.
This led to Samsung delaying the launch of the Galaxy Fold smartphone ‘indefinitely’ so that it can make the necessary improvements. Samsung’s foldable smartphone that we saw this year had an in-folding design. However, some newly published patents make it look like the South Korean technology giant is now coming up with a foldable smartphone that has an out-folding design. These designs were applied for in the US in late 2018 and in Korea in December 2015.
But then, the US patent was published only earlier this week. It has been said that Samsung is working on two more foldable smartphone variants. While one will be a vertically folding design that will be similar to a flip phone, the other will sport a clamshell-like design similar to Huawei Mate X. The vertical folding smartphone by Samsung will either be revealed late this year or early next year. The out-folding design will be announced later.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7r_UgNcJtzQ
The patent that has been spotted at the United States Patent and Trademarks Office of the out-folding device shows a flexible display that is mounted on two cases and joined by a hinge using a sliding mechanism. When the device is folded, a slide covers the slide back towards the case and this enables the screen to be folded. The slide cover on the device helps the display of the smartphone to fold easily when it slides back. In the unfolded state it helps the device remain firm. A locking mechanism can also be seen in the patent drawings which is supposed to lock the sliding cover in place when the smartphone is unfolded.
The patent was first spotted by Patently Mobile. Samsung Galaxy Fold is powered by a 7nm unnamed processor and sports a 7.3-inch Infinity Flex Dynamic AMOLED panel when unfolded. When the smartphone is folded, the handset features a 4.6-inch Super AMOLED panel. The smartphone comes with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage and houses a 4,380mAh. The foldable smartphone comes with six cameras, among which three are placed on its back panel and two can be accessed only when the device is unfolded. The last among these is placed on the front which can only be seen when it is folded into a candy bar phone.

Samsung seems to be updating all its high-end smartphones these days. Earlier we saw the company releasing a new update for its Galaxy A70 with the latest security patch and improvements. Now, the South Korean technology giant has rolled out a new software update for the Galaxy S10-series (Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+). Currently, the new update is live in Switzerland and it brings the new May Security Android patch along with improvements in the camera department. The new update for the Samsung Galaxy S10-series is being rolled out via OTA (over-the-air) update and is expected to reach the other regions in the coming days.
In addition to this, the US carriers AT&T and Verizon have also released new updates for the Samsung Galaxy S10-series. But the update adds only the new May Android Security patch and not the camera improvements to the devices.
The update was first spotted by SamMobile, which said that Samsung Galaxy S10-series update brings the camera enhancement to the devices. Other than that, the Night Mode of the device has also been improved so that the users can click better pictures in low light. Earlier, the Night Mode of the Samsung Galaxy S10-series didn’t work with the ultra-wide-angle camera but the new update has added that feature. Now, when shooting pictures in low light, the photos get less noise.
The Live Focus feature which earlier wasn’t available in the ultra-wide-angle lens and the telephoto lens of the Samsung Galaxy S10-series have been tweaked. So now, the Live Focus works on both the lenses mentioned before. Earlier, the Live Focus support was limited to just ultra-wide-angle lens.
Once users’ smartphones will get the update, they will be informed via a notification. But if it doesn’t the users can go to Settings>Software Update to manually search for the new update. If the update is available for their devices and regions, they would be able to find it. And if not, then they would have to wait for the update to arrive at their regions.
Earlier this week, Samsung had released their new update with May Android Security patch for their Galaxy A70. The update brought changes and improvements to the camera and the in-display fingerprint of the device.
Photo-sharing app Instagram will no longer only have vertical videos. The company has announced that its long-form video platform, IGTV, will now begin supporting landscape videos too. Till now, because of Instagram’s mobile-first strategy, IGTV only supported vertical videos. The company has said that it has now announced a change because of creator feedback and also because there some landscape videos present on IGTV already but users have to completely turn their smartphones to watch these in full screen.
The company announced the change in a blog post saying, “We realize this is an evolution from where IGTV started — we believe it’s the right change for viewers and creators. In many ways, opening IGTV to more than just vertical videos are similar to when we opened Instagram to more than just square photos in 2015. It enabled creativity to flourish and engagement to rise — and we believe the same will happen again with IGTV.”
Till now, IGTV has struggled to make a mark, especially if we compare its growth to TikTok. According to The Hollywood Reporter’s report that surfaced earlier this year, content creators are not too interested in IGTV. And it has since then been confirmed by other technology websites that creators love the features of the app, but they haven’t been able to monetize their content yet, and in a way, that defeats their purpose.
While YouTube has an ad placement service that pays creators, as of now, no brands are paying content creators to make long-form videos for IGTV. In addition to this, since IGTV only has support for vertical videos, content creators mostly cannot use the videos that they have created for YouTube on it. So it takes extra effort on their part to make a new video particularly for IGTV, a platform that has not been able to impress too many so far.
With vertical videos gone, these content creators will be encouraged to upload the same video that they create for YouTube on IGTV too. And since Instagram is the most popular social media platform as of now, and it has started showcasing IGTV videos in the main feed, we may see the video platform finally getting the boost that it needs because of this change in video format. However, Instagram did have to sacrifice the vertical video format for it, which was a key distinguishing factor of the IGTV platform.

Cupertino-based technology giant Apple has registered the 2019 iPhone models with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) in Russia. While a number of reports have surfaced online about the new iPhone models, the latest report is extremely different from them. It claims that as many as 11 new model numbers have been spotted on the EEC database and all of them are believed to be a part of the 2019 iPhone lineup. While three of them are speculated to be a part of the iPhone XR successor line, the rest will be related to the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Max. All of the iPhone models are said to run Apple‘s A13 Bionic SoC and iOS 13.
According to the EEC database, which was at first spotted by 9to5Mac, the model numbers of the upcoming iPhones are A2111, A2160, A2161, A2215, A2216, A2217, A2218, A2219, A2220, A2221, and A2223. While the A2111, A2161, and A2215 identifiers are said to be a part of the iPhone XR successor lineup, the rest of the model numbers will be related to the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Max.
Since Apple usually launches multiple variants of iPhones for various markets, the identifiers that have surfaced online may be meant for different markets too. However, Apple has not said anything about these identifiers or the iPhone 11 (2019 iPhone) models yet, so these have to be taken with a pinch of salt.
According to prior reports about the 2019 iPhone models, they will come with Apple’s A13 Bionic chipset and have support for reverse wireless charging. It has also been reported that the new iPhone XR model will be available in two new colour options including Green and Lavender Purple.
Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has also highlighted in a recent note that the company will be including modified-PI (MPI) for the antennas in its upcoming iPhone models. While the new material will not be bringing any new changes in terms of network performance, it would help the company easily find affordable options for its next generation phones. Kuo has also said that the upcoming 2019 iPhones will come with enhanced front-facing cameras. While iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max successors will come with triple rear cameras, the iPhone XR successor will come with a dual rear camera setup.
Some renders have also indicated that the new iPhones will come with a square camera module on their back panels.
California-based technology giant Google has come out with a new look for its search results page on mobile devices. Speaking about the updated look, Google said that this change is aimed to help the consumers and users better understand where the information or the results are coming from. The changed look is currently limited to only a limited number of users but it will be rolled out on a global scale in the coming weeks. Although Google is changing its look for the mobile devices but it hasn’t mentioned if the new design will be brought to the desktop version of the website as well.
Google revealed the new design and the information about it through a blog post. In the blog post, the company wrote, “With this new design, a website’s branding can be front and centre, helping you better understand where the information is coming from and what pages have what you’re looking for.”
Talking about the changes made to Google’s mobile design, the new design will make the name of the website and the icons appear on the top of the result card. This will be followed by the page title and the description of the page. Earlier, the title of the page would appear at the top of the search results and it was followed by the URL (Uniform Resource Locator) of the page/ website name, which in turn was followed by the description of the page.
Earlier the search results which showed the ads was labeled in green. But now, in the new redesigned Google for mobile devices, the advertisements will be accompanied with a bold ad label and it will show up in the place of the website icon on the ads.
According to the search giant, the new updated design will give it an opportunity to add more useful action buttons to the search results. Google’s blog post states, “As we continue to make new content formats and useful actions available—from buying movie tickets to playing podcasts—this new design allows us to add more action buttons and helpful previews to search results cards, all while giving you a better sense of the web page’s content with clear attribution back to the source.”
Moreover, the company is also working on many other changes which it will bring to the mobile search platform in the coming months. Some of these changes include – AR search results, full news results etc.

It has also been reported that Samsung Galaxy Note will not come with the 64Mp primary sensor, and we should point out that this contradicts an earlier report. It is worth adding that Samsung Galaxy Note 10 is expected to be launched in the second half of 2019 but the company will first be adding its new technology to its mid-range smartphone.
