Indian financial services company Freecharge has launched a range of brand new features for its online payment platform to assist small and medium-sized businesses.
Freecharge began operations in August 2010 and is headquartered in Gurugram, Haryana in India. The company specializes in financial services, particularly with regards to savings, insurance, investment, loans, and payments.
The company gained a foothold in the competitive Indian financial services market by providing a platform that allowed customers to pay for utility bills and recharge mobile and broadband internet data quickly through its platform, which is far easier than going into the bank or a supermarket to do so.
Freecharge’s latest innovations are aimed at small and medium-sized businesses and make it easier for them to conduct their financial affairs on its digital payment platform. Among the new features to be launched are Paisa Plus, payment links, dynamic QR codes, a digital Khata book, and on-demand account settlement.
Paisa Plus is a handy feature for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) because it allows companies on Freecharge’s platform to issue digital gift cards to customers. These can be in the form of a discount offer or reward to regular customers.
Rewards programs are excellent for creating loyalty with customers and encouraging repeat business. They are rapidly growing in popularity online.
Another example is the Indian app StepSetGo, which rewards its customers with coins that can be redeemed for Amazon vouchers and other goodies. For those unfamiliar, a Khata is traditionally used by merchants to store all the company’s financial transactions.
The great thing about a digitized Khata book is that customers can be added or removed quickly; it is far easier to sort through accounts and keep track of everything. On top of that, many functions can be automated. For example, reminders can be sent to customers with outstanding accounts, or you can flag customers that regularly pay on time and reward them.
“We are focused on offering unique and smart solutions that not only help in increasing digital transactions but also offer value to businesses and customers, thereby aid in quicker adoption of the payment platform. We are hopeful that our customers and merchants would continue to have an impeccable experience on the app which would strengthen the merchant and customer relationship. But fresh news is that the Chinese smartphone company has officially announced and has scheduled to launch Vivo Y73 in India on June 10. In addition to this, the tech firm has also shared the teaser showcasing the design of the handset. Vivo Y73 is all set to launch in India on June 10 at 12 noon. Although the company has officially made the announcement of the release but did not confirm whether it will be an online launch or just make an announcement of the phone by listing it on the online shopping portal. The released teaser gives the first look at the Vivo Y73, which showcases the triple camera setup on the back of the phone. A stylish two-colour design can be clearly seen donning a 3 design pattern reflecting bluish pink hues.

HMD Global introduced Nokia 3.4 as its latest budget offering in the Indian market. The device is priced at Rs 11,999 for the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage variant. The smartphone is a follow up of Nokia 3.2 and does bring some upgrades over its predecessor. The phone is part of the Android One programme and it guarantees two years of software upgrades. So let’s go ahead and find out all about the Nokia 3.4 in this review.

Design and Display
To begin with, the Nokia 3.4 is made of polycarbonate material. Its back panel has a textured finish, which makes for an easy grip. Therefore the design does not attract fingerprints and smudges that easily. This is a big relief. Thanks to the plastic build, the smartphone is sturdy and light to hold. The rear panel houses a fingerprint reader just below the circular camera module. You can summon the notification panel by swiping the fingerprint sensor up or down.On the utility front, the power and the volume control button is given on the right side of the frame whereas the left side contains a dedicated Google Assistant button and SIM/microSD card slot. Likewise, the 3.5mm headphone jack and a primary microphone is given at the top. Whereas the USB Type-C port, speaker grill and a secondary microphone are provided at the bottom frame of the device.With that said, allow us to explain the performance of the display. The Nokia 3.4 has gone with the punch hole cut out instead of a notch. The phone features a 6.39-inch HD+ display with 720×1,560 pixels of resolutions. It offers a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 400 nits of peak brightness. The display looks vibrant and the colours are acceptable as well given the price point. For HD content viewing the images looked sharp enough so you will definitely enjoy watching videos and reading on the display. So, all in all, the display is good enough for social media browsing, YouTube et al.
Performance and Cameras
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 SoC is at the core of Nokia 3.4 and we have a model with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage model but you can also go for the higher-end variant, which has 6GB RAM with 64GB storage. While operating the device we encountered frequent lag especially while multitasking, this was bound to happen since it has an old CPU. While playing high-end games like Call of Duty the performance backfires. On very high graphics and high frame rate settings we experienced stutters every now and then so you need to turn down the setting for smoother gameplay. On the Nokia 3.4, you do get a stock Android experience running Android 10 that comes with two years of software upgrade and three years of security updates. The fingerprint sensor on the phone may not be the best but gets the job done. It can also be used to call down the notification panel. The day to day performance is decent but when you run multiple apps at the same time you would see that the phone becomes less responsive. One thing we loved about the smartphone is that Nokia has kept the user interface clean from bloatware.Ok, now performance out of the way let’s talk about the optics. Enclosed inside a circular module the placement of the triple camera looks nice. The set-up includes a 13-megapixel primary sensor, alongside a 5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with a 2-megapixel depth sensor and an LED flash. On the front, there is a hole punch to house an 8-megapixel selfie camera sensor.The normal daytime images as you can see from the samples here the image turned out to be grittier. They lacked details and dynamic range. The pictures you get are slightly pale and yellowish. Whereas the wide-angle shots tend to look dark and lack the much-needed punch. As for the portraits, the edge detection is good however the portrait shots looked darker. The nighttime images on the Nokia 3.4 looked hazy, soft and lacked details though there is a dedicated night mode that does boost the brightness but in the end, it lacked any sort of detail and sharpness. Now getting to the front camera, subjects look very soft and smooth but lacked details and exposure on the Nokia 3.4. When it comes to videos it offers 1080P@30FPS on both the front and the back. As expected there is no video stabilisation.As for the battery, Nokia 3.4 gets its juice from the 4,000mAh battery. We experienced 6 to 7 hours of screen time on this phone daily and the battery was not a problem. We used this as our primary phone which consisted of switching between various social media apps, gaming and binging YouTube content. In our everyday usage, it delivered a fair amount of endurance on fairly heavy usage. So the device will last you through a day with some charge left at the end of it. When it comes to charging it takes over three and a half hours to get from zero to 100 percent, which is an absolute pain. This is only because the company ships a 5W power adapter. So we recommend an overnight charge.The audio performance is just about ok as the bottom-firing speaker is not very loud and lacks bass.
Conclusion
Given its price (Rs 11,300) and specs, the Nokia 3.4 is somewhat a miss and a hit. The design might be attractive, but the underwhelming performance cannot be ignored. Also, its below-average camera performance makes it very difficult for us to recommend this phone to everyone. Brand new FaceTime features in iOS 15
FaceTime has always been an important video calling feature offered by Apple. But since the lockdown happened it has become more important for the iPhone user to stay connected with their loved ones. To make the user’s experience more even more natural and comfortable the new iOS 15 will bring support for spatial audio to the FaceTime calls. This will make voices in a FaceTime call sound as if they are coming from where the person is positioned on the screen and new microphone modes separate the user’s voice from background noise. In addition to this, it will now have a dedicated Portrait mode for FaceTime designed specifically for video calls, so users can blur their background and put themselves in focus.During Group FaceTime, a new grid view enables participants to see more faces at the same time. With the new feature called SharePlay, you can now integrate listening to songs together with Apple Music, watching a TV show or movie in sync, or sharing their screen to view apps together. This new experience sharing feature will be available across iPhone, iPad, and Mac, and with shared playback controls, anyone in a SharePlay session can play, pause, or jump ahead. Additionally, with SharePlay the media can also be played on an Apple TV so users can watch shows or movies on a big screen while connecting over FaceTime. It will also add support for third-party apps such as Disney+, ESPN+, HBO Max, Hulu, MasterClass, Paramount+, Pluto TV, TikTok, Twitch, and many others.Besides this FaceTime will also allow users to create a link from iPhone, iPad, or Mac, and share it through Messages, Calendar, Mail, or third-party apps. This functionality will allow users to join a FaceTime call from their web browser on Android and Windows devices. The calls on the web will remain end-to-end encrypted so that privacy is not compromised.
Notification and tools to find focus in iOS 15
The Notifications has got a new look with the arrival of a new operating system. It will now add contact photos for people and larger icons for apps that make them even easier to identify. Whereas a new notification summary will collect non-time-critical notifications for delivery at a more opportune time, such as in the morning and evening. Also, notifications will now be arranged according to priority with the most relevant notifications rising to the top, and based on a user’s interactions with apps, therefore, delivering urgent messages immediately. Users can also temporarily mute any app or messaging thread for the next hour or for the day.Focus which is another important and fresh feature will filter out notifications and apps based on what a user wants to focus on. According to Apple users can set their device to help them be in the moment by creating a custom Focus or selecting a suggested Focus, which uses on-device intelligence to suggest which people and apps are allowed to notify them. Focus suggestions are basically based on the user’s work routine like working hours, resting time and when this feature is enabled on Apple devices, it automatically applies to their other Apple devices. This will also let you create Home Screen pages with apps and widgets that apply to moments of focus to only display relevant apps and reduce temptation. When someone has enabled these features on their device and Focus is blocking incoming notifications, their status is automatically displayed to others in Messages, reflecting that a user is not currently reachable.
Advanced Photos features in iOS 15
With Live Text now the Camera app can also quickly identify and copy text from a whiteboard, or Wi-Fi password displayed at a local coffee shop, handwritten family recipe or even capture a phone number from a storefront with the option to place a call. It can recognise seven languages including Chinese. Whereas the spotlight feature will allow users to search photos by location, people, scenes, or objects, and using Live Text, Spotlight can find text and handwriting in photos. Additionally, it will also offer web image search and all-new rich results for actors, musicians, TV shows, and movies. Enhanced results for contacts show recent conversations, shared photos, and even their location if shared through Find My. On the other hand Photo Memories will let you personalise song suggestions that bring memories to life by setting up their own music from Apple Music. The Memories videos are editable and allow adding transitions and filters to them.
Maps, Wallet and Weather features
With the iOS 15, Apple Maps will get new features to navigate and explore. As per the company users will be able to experience enhanced details in cities for neighbourhoods, commercial districts, elevation, and buildings, new road colours and labels, custom-designed landmarks, and a new night-time mode with a moonlit glow. Also a three-dimensional city-driving experience with new road details like road details that help users better see and understand important details like turn lanes, medians, bike lanes, and pedestrian crosswalks. The nearby station can be found easily and one can pin it to their favourite lines. Users can also simply hold up the iPhone, and Maps generates a highly accurate position to deliver detailed walking directions in augmented reality.Besides this Apple Wallet will now support additional types of keys for easy access to everyday places with just a tap. BMW was the first car company to add its keys to digital car keys and now this functionality will get support for Ultra-Wideband technology, so users can securely unlock and start their supported vehicle without removing their iPhone from a pocket or bag. One can also use their device to unlock their home, office, or even a hotel room — all through keys stored in Wallet.By the end of the year, the customers in participating states will be able to add their driver’s license or state IDs to Wallet. As per the company, the ID cards stored in your wallets are encrypted and safely stored in the Secure Element.The Weather app has got a new look with addition to more graphical displays of weather data, full-screen maps, and dynamic layouts that change based on conditions. The animated backgrounds have been redesigned and now more accurately reflect the sun’s position and precipitation, and notifications highlight when rain or snow starts and stops.
