Vivo has officially announced the launch of its most premium smartphones in the Indian market. The Vivo X70 Pro and Vivo X70 Pro+ have officially made their debut in the country. Both the devices are photography-focused flagships that were launched alongside the vanilla X70 which failed to arrive here; it could be launched later on. Both the devices feature Zeiss optics and a gimbal camera for stabilisation.

As for the pricing, the company has not yet revealed any details. Industry insiders say that the Vivo X70 Pro will be made available in two variants: 8GB RAM with 128GB storage at Rs 46,990 while the 12GB RAM with 256GB of storage is likely to be priced at Rs 54,990.

On the other hand, Vivo X70 Pro+ is expected to come in a single 12GB RAM with 256GB of storage that will be priced at around Rs 69,990. The expected price of the vanilla variant is not yet revealed.

Vivo X70 Pro which has a similar display as the standard model but is powered by Exynos 1080 SoC paired with ARM G78 GPU. There is a quad rear camera set up on the handset that includes a 50MP primary sensor. The 12MP sensors are the same as above along with an additional 8MP periscopic lens. The selfie camera sensor is also the same. It has a 4,450mAh battery with similar charging support.

Last but not least Vivo X70 Pro+ is the most premium of them all and will come with a  6.78 ultra HD AMOLED display and 120Hz refresh rate support. Under the hood, there is the most powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ SoC paired with an Adreno 660 GPU. 

The quad-camera set up on the X70 Pro+ will include a 48MP Sony IMX578 ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 50MP primary sensor, a 12MO portrait and an 8MP periscope lens. The selfie camera remains the same however there is a 5,000mAh battery with 55W Flash Charge with 50W Wireless Flash Charge fast charging support.

We spent some days and nights with the machine working and watching our favourite Netflix and Disney+ Hotstar shows on it.  This is our review of the Acer Aspire 7 (2021).

Acer Aspire 7 review: Design and Display

Out of the box, you do not get an oomph factor from the Acer Aspire 7, as it has basic looks with a pinch modern outlook. It comes across as this laptop is built for your productivity needs but has lots more to offer. Dressed in charcoal grey you will find the Acer logo on the top of the lid with Aspire written on the silver, back spine.

Open it and you are greeted by a large full QWERTY with NUM pad keyboard and medium-sized trackpad. Which, by the way, is multi-touch/gesture ready. The large 15.6-inch (FHD IPS) display can be swivelled to 180 degrees and does not feel flimsy. The screen to body ratio is about 82% and you do get an HD webcam a well as few MICS over it in the Acer Aspire 7. The keyboard is backlit and comes with function keys that also double up as multimedia buttons. The typing experience on the keyboard of this Acer laptop is good, however, we would have wanted a larger trackpad.

There are plenty of ports on the Acer Aspire 7. The company has put in the power USB and audio (3.5mm) on the right side, while the left side has two more USBs, one USB Type-C, HDMI and the ethernet ports. Two downward-firing speakers can also be found under the laptop (on the left and right side). Overall, the laptop looks premium, and it does say it means business.

Acer Aspire 7: Performance

Let’s first talk about the tech specs of the Acer Aspire 7 (2021). The model that we have has Intel Core i5 10th Gen CPU with 6 cores (10300H). The max clock speed here is 2.5Ghz. With that the users get 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX1650 graphics card. Bluetooth 4.1 and Wi-Fi 6 are also part of the package.

Windows 10 Home edition is what users get, which was a bit strange as we were expecting the Pro edition on this laptop. There is a little bit of bloatware that comes along with the laptop, but all the extra software can be uninstalled. Users also get 100GB of free storage with Acer Aspire 7, which they can use for 1 year. This machine also comes with 30 days trial of Norton security.

We played a lot of movies and Netflix shows on the laptop and we quite liked the experience. The screen is bright and viewing angles are good. With it, the sound is not too bad. However, a little bit louder would have been perfect. The gaming experience on the Acer Aspire 7 is good too. Games like CS: GO and Dota 2 can be played at 100FPS, but PUBG or more graphics hungry games have to be figured down to 30-60FPS at medium settings. But the experience with these games at mid settings is not bad either.

The battery life of the Acer Aspire 7 is one of its brightest points. The 3-cell battery lasted over 7.5 hours for us, when not gaming. A 135W charger comes in the box that quickly charges it back. Our experience in Zoom calls was good too. The MICS work well, and the screen did a good job. Again, a slightly louder speaker output would have been perfect. The writing/typing experience on Google docs or MS Word was nice. The tactile feel of the keys is excellent and the lightest of taps registers the alphabet on screen.

Verdict

The overall weight of the Acer Aspire 7 laptop is 2.15 Kg, which is not bad. We were able to lug it around easily and it made p for a good work and play companion. At Rs 57,990, Acer has managed to bring out a very good workhorse. If you are on the lookout for a work machine and want a good multimedia experience with it, then this machine will suit you well.

Apple iPhones are fast and give its user a smooth experience. Apple is famous for giving updates and good customer support, but along with the latest updates come a few bugs and issues as well. One of them is Unable to download apps on the iPhone. 

It can be frustrating that your expensive device can not use the wide library of applications. And without them, there is little value to the iPhone. If you too are facing this issue, worry not, this guide will solve the problem of being unable to download apps on your iPhone. Here are the steps you should follow.

Open the App Store and check if there is a blue account icon on the top right corner. If yes, you might not be signed in. Tap it to input your Apple ID. As soon as you sign in with your Apple ID, the applications will start to download from the App Store normally.

  • Manually update the applications

If the applications are not downloading automatically, Apple gives you an option to manually download these updates. To do so follow these steps.

  • Check payment method

Check payment method

Apple asks for the payment method of any app even if the application is completely free. One must also check the payment mode by heading to Settings>Your name>Payment and Shipping. Also, confirm that the payment mode you are using is not expired as the same can cause this issue as well. 

If you are trying to update an app and you see a message saying “your account is disabled in the App Store”, there might be a problem with your payment method. There is an issue with your payment method. If the CC is not expired then contact Apple support for assistance.

  • Pause and restart the download

If one can see the download has started but is stuck it’s easy to fix it. Keep holding down the application which started to update/download. You will see options like Resume Download, Pause Download, or Cancel Download. If the app download is paused, tap the Resume Download option. If it’s stuck, tap Pause Download, then touch and hold the app again and tap Resume Download.

  • Restart Device

All the iPhones have different methods to restart the device. Consider the image below to have an idea.

Press and hold the respective buttons until you see the “Slide to Power Off” option. Slide the bar and let the iPhone completely shut down. Restart the device by holding the power button for 3-5 seconds. After the phone completely starts, try downloading or updating the application again.

Nokia Purebook S14 along with Nokia Smart TV series launched in India

Ahead of Flipkart’s festive season and Big Billion day sale, Nokia launched its new laptop along with a series of TVs in India on Flipkart. The laptop comes with the latest 11th gen i5 processors and Windows 11. 

It is the first laptop in India to come with the latest Windows 11 out of the box. Another product being Nokia’s QLED TVs and comes with Ultra HD 4K resolution. Here are details regarding these two products.

The Nokia PureBook S14 comes with a price tag of Rs 56,990. It will go on sale when the Big Billion Days sale starts on Flipkart i.e. Oct 3.

  • Specification

Last year the company launched the PureBook X14. The S14 is the new addition to that series which is thinned and lighter weighing just 1.4 kg. Powering the laptop is the latest 11th Gen i5 processor by Intel with Iris Xe Integrated Graphics and support for Dolby Atmos.

The laptop will be available in two variants first being an 8Gb variant and the other a 16 Gb variant. Both the laptops will be paired with 512 NVMe SSD for storage. The laptops will have a full HD IPS display with an 82 percent screen-to-body ratio. 

The laptop comes with all the ports for connectivity. It houses a USB-A 3.0 port, a USB-C port, and an HDMI port, along with all the standard wireless connectivity options like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

The most highlighting part of the PureBook S14 is it’s the first Laptop in India to come with Windows 11 out of the box.

The new QLED TV range starts from Rs 49,999. The price for the cheaper LED variant is not known yet. We can surely expect that the prices will be competitive and will be announced at the Big Billion Days sale on Flipkart.

These new Android QLED TVs are manufactured in India by Nokia in two screen sizes, one being a 50-inch and the other a 55-inch variant. The TVs come with 60W twin speakers with bass reflex tube and support for Dolby Atmos. 

The powerful sound comes out of JBL speakers powered by Harman AudioEFX. These displays offer 102% NTSC colour gamut with native support of Dolby Vision and HDR 10.

In the led range there are 4 TVs: 43-inch Full HD & 43-inch, 50-inch and 55-inch Ultra HD 4K. All of them offer Dolby Vision and HDR 10, with Eye protect plus mode to filter some blue light and protect your eyes.

These new TVs are powered by a 1.1 GHz quad-core processor, coupled with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB onboard storage. Alongside these G31 is used for GPU. The entire new lineup runs on the latest Android 11 out of the box with advanced connectivity features like dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and more.

There are few handy updates for the existing Nokia Smart TV too, as the company announced to push Android 11 on them along with features like Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, Dual-band Wi-Fi and Data saver.
