Samsung unveils new series of soundbars to recreate theatre experience at home

As people look to recreate the theatre experience at home, Samsung Electronics Co. has announced an innovative new series of soundbars – all designed to deliver immersive, captivating sound quality that will enhance the home theater experience. The Flagship Q, Lifestyle S, and T Series soundbars seamlessly integrate with Samsung’s wide-ranging TV lineup, with premium design to suit the needs of any consumer’s home environment.

The Q Series, which leads Samsung’s trio of soundbar audio offerings and includes the Q800T, which won a 2020 CES Best of Innovation Award, includes Samsung’s signature Q-Symphony technology – which combines the soundbar’s dynamic Object Tracking Sound with the TV’s top speakers to produce a fully immersive listening experience in any living room.

Moreover, the Q series also comprises of Samsung’s proprietary Acoustic Beam Technology, which takes TV audio and mixes it to surround the listener with a panoramic soundscape – creating sound that aligns with the action on screen.

According to the company, “Through this technology, Samsung’s engineers have been able to incorporate some of the most advanced acoustic designs into wide-range tweeters that can reach 800hz. These technologies come together to make the listener feel like they’re right in the middle of the action.”

Besides this, Samsung claims that the Q800T and Q70T feature upward-firing speakers that support both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X technology – resulting in three-dimensional audio that flows all around the listener. The Q800T and Q70T also include HDMI eARC (Enhanced Audio Return Channel), which enables users to listen to uncompressed high-quality audio with eARC compatible TVs. And both soundbars can expand from their built-in speaker channel configuration to a 5.1.2-channel system with the addition of a wireless speaker kit.

In addition to the above-mentioned features, Samsung’s T Series – the successor to the groundbreaking R Series soundbars – introduces several new models in the entry-to-mid range lineup: the T650, T550, and the T450. The T650 includes 3.1 channel surround sound, anchored by a dedicated center channel speaker that helps project audio content crisply and clearly.  Plus, both the T650 and T550 are HDMI-enabled and feature DTS Virtual:X, which emulates a spatial surround sound system without the need for additional speakers.

The S Series soundbar is designed to bring your walls to life, the S series is coated with premium textiles from Kvadrat – a global design textile company. The S60T – another CES Innovation Awards Honoree – comes with a wide-range tweeter attached to the horn-shaped speaker.

Samsung claims that “The result is a rich sound that fills every corner of your room. The S60T also features Alexa voice control, so users can easily listen to their favorite music services, like Amazon Music, Spotify, Tunein, and iHeart Radio.”

Apple iOS 14 leaked online: Here’s everything you should know

Leaked Apple’s operating system iOS 14 early version is doing rounds all over the Internet. News is rife that someone has likely gained access to an iPhone running the new iOS 14 which ultimately resulted in tipping of the features related to this operating system even before it has been officially unveiled.

As per Vice’s Motherboard, “Security researchers and hackers have had access to a leaked early version of iOS 14, the iPhone’s next operating system, since at least February.”

Usually, such leaks related to specification of any iOS hit the Internet only before the launch time starts inching closer. However, it is altogether a different story this time. According to Motherboard by Vice, “Five sources in the jailbreaking community familiar with the leak told us they think that someone obtained a development iPhone 11 running a version of iOS 14 dated December 2019, which was made to be used only by Apple developers.”

The report further quoted the sources revealing that someone bought the device from China’s smartphone market at a heavy cost. The person then reportedly extracted the iOS 14 internal build and leaked the same across the iPhone jailbreaking and hacking community.

In another report by Forbes, it was reported that Apple is strengthening its password manager and will eventually rollout a new updated Home screen list view option that will enable you to use iOS apps without downloading them completely.

With the early iOS 14 leak, news is rife that criminal hackers are likely to use the scenario to threaten both Apple as well as iOS users as they will be ready with the jailbreak version of the operating system even before it is launched.

Earlier, Apple announced it will host its annual Worldwide Developers Conference virtually, beginning June 22, in the Apple Developer app and on the Apple Developer website for free for all developers. Now Instagram users can access Facebook’s Messenger Rooms feature that supports video-calling option with up to 50 people. Taking to Twitter, Instagram had announced that its users can now create an easy way to video chat with up to 50 of their favourite people via Messenger Rooms on Instagram. This took place after Instagram’s integration with Messenger Rooms on Facebook.

Wondering how to use Messenger Rooms on Instagram? Well, the official announcement video has revealed to use video-calling option, one simply needs to follow these steps:

  1. Open Instagram
  2. Then, click on the Direct icon
  3. Now, tap on the camera icon placed on the top right-hand side
  4. After this, click on ‘Create a Room’ option on the top of the display screen (Mind you! It showcases a message, “Send a Link to video chat with anyone, even if they don’t have Instagram.”)
  5. This will open a small pop-up window with a blue button on the bottom of the screen to ‘Create Room as (your name)
  6. Once Room is created, now you need to check against the name of people to add in the
  7. Tap on ‘Send’ button placed at the bottom
  8. Now choose ‘Join Room’
  9. With this, you will move out of Instagram and continue into Facebook Messenger

With this, one should ensure that Facebook Messenger pre-installed in their handsets as this video calling feature on Instagram is an integration of Facebook Messenger Room. This is why on joining room one moves out of Instagram and continue into Facebook Messenger.

Earlier a WABetaInfo report has revealed that the WhatsApp beta app version 2.20.163 for Android showcases a new integration with Messenger Rooms. This allows users to have access to this real-time video-chatting feature that enables up to 50 people to participate in the same group call.

If you too have 2.20.163 Android beta update installed, the news report added that you can check for WhatsApp’s new integration with Messenger Rooms by checking out the chat sheet if the Room icon is place alongside like Documents, Gallery, Audio, Location and Contacts. Why we didn’t mentioned about the Camera icon here, the reason is it has been replaced by Rooms in the WhatsApp beta app version 2.20.163 for Android.

On Clicking on Rooms, WhatsApp will introduce Room Messenger to you and you can get started by creating Rooms. But there is a second option too as you can access Room Messenger via Call tab. You select your contacts and then continue in messenger to create Room.

According to the report, the Messenger Rooms integration on WhatsApp has initially been introduced to users in the United States. However, it is believed that it will be made available in other regions soon.

Ahead of the May 25 launch event, Realme has shared a teaser on its official website about its much-anticipated watch that will be launching along with Realme TV and other IoT products in India. The teaser talks about the company’s first smartwatch design as well as several interesting features that it carries.

Sporting a 1.4-inch (3.5 cm) colour touch-screen display, which Realme claims is the biggest screen display in India in the price segment, Realme Watch showcases a square-shaped that displays temperature on the top along with Realme logo at the bottom of the screen. Besides that, two buttons could be seen mounted on the right side of the display screen.

In the Realme Watch, a user can customize their watch with colourful straps and customize watch faces as it comes with two strap options — classic and fashion. From the image shown on the website, it seems that the Realme Watch’s strap is made up of silicon.

The Realme Watch comes with intelligent activity tracker with 14 sports modes including:

However, there is no mention about the iOS app as of now but it is believe that the app would be available on Apple Store soon.

Moreover, Realme Watch will alert its users about when to drink water and relax, showcase the current weather status, when to stand up and move, time as well as push notifications for calls and SMS. In addition to this, the smartwatch also provides support for apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Messenger and much more.

We already know that on May 26 Xioami is going to host a special launch event in China where it will be pulling the wraps off a slew of new products. At the launch event, the company will be launching a Redmi 10X smartphone alongside its newest RedmiBook laptop and Redmi TV series. The Xioami’s upcoming laptop has been part of the rumour mills since a very long time now. Recently the three models of the laptop were listed on a Chinese e-retailer website and some images with the specifications are also leaked on the web hinting that it will be powered by AMD CPUs. In a new development, Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing has now confirmed that the Redmibook series is going to equip AMD’s latest Ryzen 4000 series CPUs. 

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing revealed via Chinese microblogging website Weibo that the upcoming RemiBook is going to derive its power from the newest AMD RyzenTM 4000 series processors to offer improved performance and efficiency. In addition to this, he also shared an image of the internals of the laptop.

He also shaped another official teaser image of the RedmiBook laptop giving you the first glimpse of the device. The laptop looks similar to Apple MackBook Pro in terms of design aspects. The display will have support for 100 per cent sRGB colour gamut. His tweet reads, “The vision is not only excellent but also outstanding. The blessing of 100% sRGB wide color gamut makes the colors full of expression and vivid. Welcome the diversity of the world, forget the original black and white.”

The laptop is suggested to come with thin bezels that will be 3.26mm in size. Moreover, it will feature a 15-inch display. Whereas according to a report by GizmoChina the company is said to bring a 16.1-inches display. Additionally, there will be a 90% screen-to-body ratio with  100% sRGB wide color gamut. Not many details have been revealed about the device but the leaks suggest that the company will be offering RedmiBook laptop in three variants. Out of the three specifications of the two models have already been leaked.

Both the models are speculated to arrive with a 16GB of RAM is DDR4 clocked at 2666 MHz and 512GB of M881 Samsung SATASSD storage. The device will come with model number TIMI TM1951 and  TIMI TM1953.

The device with model number TIMI TM1951  is said to be powered by a six-core AMD Ryzen 5 4500U processor clocked at 2.4GHz and support a turbo clock speed of 3.9GHz. It will come with the 64-bit version of Windows 10.

Whereas, model number TIMI TM195 RedmiBook is suggested to draw its power from the eight-core AMD Ryzen 7 4700U processor with base clock 2GHz  and boost clock of 4.1GHz. It will be available with a 64-bit version of Windows 10.

The Chinese electronics major today rolled out its new Mi TV E43K under its E series of smart TVs. The smart television comes with a 43-inch display and is going to be offered under the affordable budget segment. It also features full HD resolution with a bezel-less design. Moreover, it supports a 60Hz refresh rate with a 178-degree viewing angle. The smart TB also comes with two 8W speakers with DTS 2.0 also it runs on Patchwall OS and lacks Bluetooth connectivity. On the connectivity front, the smart TV comes with two HDMI ports. Out of the two, one supports HDMI ARC (High Definition Multimedia Interface Audio Return Channel). Additionally, the other options include an  AV port, an Ethernet port and WiFi for connectivity. It also equips two 8W speakers with DTS 2.0.

Xiaomi Mi TV E43K has been introduced in its home market China. It will be available for purchase with a price tag of CNY 1,099 that translates to Rs  11,700. The company has now put the smart TV on sale in its country via  Xiaomiyoupin. It is also expected to arrive in the Indian market however there is no information about the international availability of the product.

Today the company announced the launch of its latest newest B550 Aorus series of motherboards for the 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen desktop processors. The motherboard features a native USB 3.2 Gen2 interface, feature-rich I/O with a pre-installed I/O shield, the latest wireless connection, and Ultra Durable technology, It comes with a 16-phase VRM design.

Of all of the momentous changes that have occurred within the gaming industry in recent years, none have been as pronounced as the shift toward app-based gaming.

By some estimates, the market for app-based smartphone gaming is now larger than both conventional PC and console gaming markets, estimated to worth a staggering $68.5 billion in 2020; making up more than half of the $152 billion global gaming industry.

This rise has prompted many game developers to migrate from their previous focus on browser-hosted games toward a renewed focus on smartphone apps. Let’s take a closer look at why smartphone apps are now the premier platform for new games and the industry players that are driving this shift forward.

How Market Trends Have Favored Apps

Before diving into the ways that game developers are pivoting to smartphone apps like never before, it’s worth taking a closer look at the market forces that have driven this pivot. The mobile app gaming market has grown double-digit rates almost every year for the past decade – levels of growth that other sectors of the industry could only dream of.

Much of this has been driven by the increased availability and penetration of smartphones that are able to host quality games. An estimated five billion people now own a smartphone – a number that is much, much higher than the number of people who own consoles or even PCs.

Meanwhile, it has become cheaper and easier to manufacture smartphones that are capable of running the calibre of games that were once exclusively the domain of high-end consoles and PCs. The fact that a run-of-the-mill Samsung Galaxy device is now capable of running hit titles such as Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, as well as a number of console-quality action games with ease, highlights just how far the mobile gaming market has advanced in such a short time-span.

Standalone PC Games As Apps

One of the main drivers of the migration to app gaming in recent years has been the willingness of standalone PC game developers to reformat their most popular titles for smartphones. The aforementioned release of the San Andreas app, which is a carbon-copy of the original game, is just one example of many.

Bully, another iconic game from Rockstar studios, is now available in full on Android and iOS. The first two Max Payne games, both of which were massive hits with PC gamers at the turn of the last decade, are also playable on a smartphone – another example of how the development studio Rockstar is leading the charge toward app-based gaming.

Other developers have also been following suit. Square Enix recently released the original Tomb Raider game as an iOS app, before following shortly after with the release of the 2011 game Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light on the same platform. The list goes on.

Online Casino Games As Apps

Another key industry player in the app revolution has been the $53.7 billion online casino industry. While originally many of the biggest casino game developers offered their titles exclusively as browser games, virtually all of them have since recognized the pre-eminence of apps and adopted their games accordingly.

Today, all of the most popular online slot titles have been adapted for Android, including games such as Triple Diamond, Cleopatra, and Quick Hit. Some studies have shown that close to half of all people who play real-money casino games now do so via their smartphones, a trend that has undoubtedly been influenced by the fact that so many casino operators were quick to transform the entirety of their browser offerings into a self-contained app format.

Of course, many of those same casinos have formatted their websites so that browser-based gaming is still possible on mobile, but it’s clear that they see the future of their industry in app development.

Browser MMOs As Apps

Another emerging and recent trend in the world of smartphone gaming has been the release of hugely popular browser-based MMO games as apps. The fantasy MMORPG Runescape, which has a global following of millions, recently revitalized its business model by releasing the official Runescape Mobile app, which has had hundreds of thousands of downloads since 2019.

The competitive shooter game Fortnite has also jumped on the bandwagon, allowing its 78 million monthly players to enjoy the game on their own iOS/Android app. In a similar vein, the development team behind League of Legends has also expanded its offerings with a spin-off app called League of Legends: Wild Rift, which consists of a more restricted version of the browser version.

Meanwhile, the PC gaming library Steam has made what is arguably the biggest stride into the app market to date with the release of Steam Link, which allows users to play all of their Steam PC games on their phones.

It’s clear that smartphone apps look set to continue cementing their dominance of the gaming market. The only question left is how other platforms will adapt in response.

LG Q61 with military-grade durability and quad rear cameras launched: Specifications and pricing details

LG Electronics has announced the launch of its new smartphone in the market. The company has introduced LG Q61 in the South Korean market. The device is said to be the rebranded variant of LG K61 that was launched a few months ago in the market. LG Q61 comes with a  quad rear camera, a hole-punch design display along with the military-grade durability. Moreover, the smartphone comes integrated with DTS: X3D stereo for high-quality sound. 

LG Q61 pricing and availability

LG Q61 has been launched in a single configuration of 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage. The smartphone will be available with a price tag of KRW 369,600 that translates to Rs 22,700. The company will be offering the device in two colour options Titanium and White colour options. The smartphone is scheduled to go on sale in South Korea starting May 29. Until now there is no word from the company about the international availability of the mobile phone. 

LG Q61 specifications

In terms of design, LG Q61 features a hole-punch design display housing a selfie camera and slim bezels as well as offers MIL-STD 810G durability. It comes with quad rear camera setup with a fingerprint sensor. 

The device sports a  6.5-inch Full-HD+ display with 1,080×2,340 pixels of resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a pixel density of 394ppi. The mobile phone is powered by 2.3GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. It can be expanded up to 2TB using a microSD card.

In terms of photos and videos, the device comes with a horizontally placed quad rear camera setup that includes a 48-megapixel primary camera sensor with f/1.8 aperture. It is accompanied by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, a 5-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture and lastly a 2-megapixel macro lens with f/2.4 aperture. While on the front there is a 16-megapixel selfie shooter. 

LG Q61 boasts a 4,000mAh battery and the device runs on Android 10 OS. In terms of connectivity, it offers support for dual-band Wi-Fi, LTE, Bluetooth v5.0, NFC, and a USB Type-C port for charging.

The Chinese electronics giant Xiaomi will be hosting a special event on May 26 where it is going to introduce a brand new smartphone in the market under its sub-brand called Redmi 10X. Ahead of the launch, the device is now up for pre-booking via the website. Moreover, on the same day, the company will also introduce a bunch of more products such as Redmi TV series, and RedmiBook in China. On May 26 in India Xioami has planned to unveil its new true wireless (TWS) earphones. 

Xiaomi Global VP Manu Kumar Jain took to Twitter to announce the launch of its new true wireless earphones in India under its sub-brand Redmi. The company will be hosting an online launch event on May 26 that is going to be live-streamed across all its social media accounts via its official YouTube Channel to unveil Redmi TWS earphones. However, Mr Jain did not reveal that name of the product but it is speculated to be Redmi AirDots S earphones that were recently launched in China.

Xiaomi has also created a separate page to tease the arrival of its upcoming device in the Indian market. According to the page, the company is going to bring a wireless audio product that claims to deliver a longer battery life, is sweat and water-resistant along with low latency. The TWS said to come integrated with voice assistants that can be activated easily with just a click. With this one can easily set alarms as well as schedule meetings. All these hints point towards the company’s new true wireless earphones called  Redmi AirDots S.

Recently the company via tweet announced its entry into the audio space in India. The company also shared a 22 seconds short video suggesting that it is going to be a music-focused product.  All these teasers indicate that Redmi AirDots S is the company’s next audio device. Also, a NoStringsAttached hashtag also suggests the company’s next product is the Redmi TWS earphones.

To recall Redmi AirDots S TWS earphones were introduced in China in April. There it has been launched with a price tag of  CNY 100 that translates to Rs 1,100 and will be available in a single black colour variant. It is expected to arrive in India with similar competitive pricing in India to take on other audio products available in the market at affordable pricing. These earphones are powered by 7.2mm drivers and come with reduced latency mode for the better gaming experience. The device claims to deliver up to  12 hours of battery life. The audio device is IPX4 water resistance and weighs just 4.1g each.

Twitter brings new functionality to allow users to limit replies on their tweets

These days popular microblogging website Twitter seems engrossed in bringing new features to its website for better user experience. Recently it released scheduled tweet features on its platform. Now the company has announced that it is testing another new feature allowing the user more control over their twitter profile. This new feature will give access to the users to limit who can comment on their tweets. 

The social media giant Twitter announced this new development by sharing a short video giving a demo on how this new feature is going to work. Soon the company will bring reply permission settings that will allow its users to choose who can reply to their tweets. At the moment if a user posts a tweet, those who are following or not following the users are free to respond to their tweet. But now the company is working on adding new permission setting just under the tweet compose window allowing users to make a selection who can reply to that tweet. When the feature is released you will be getting three options, Everyone, People You Follow, and Only People You Mention. This functionality will be helpful to the users when they want to share a tweet with everyone but don’t want any unnecessary replies or hate replies. With this setting now everyone can view and like your conversation but only people you have permitted can reply. While announcing the feature the tweet reads, “Testing, testing… A new way to have a convo with exactly who you want. We’re starting with a small % globally, so keep your out to see it in action.”

At the moment the company has planned to roll out this feature to a limited number of users globally to iOS, Android and twitter.com as it is under development. However, there is no word from the company when it will be available for wider rollout but we think it will soon be released for all the users.

Earlier this year Twitter mentioned in a tweet that it is currently working on this feature for giving more control to the users over their conversations. The tweet reads, “We want to help people feel safe participating in the conversation on Twitter by giving them more control over the conversations they start. We’ll be experimenting with different options for who can reply to Tweets in early 2020.”

Currency Twitter only gives you an option to keep your profile private in order to limit replies from those who are not following the users or they can hide the replies. With the rollout of the new permission setting the company will be able to make conversations on its platform more personal and meaningful.

Twitter’s Director of Product Suzanne Xie in its blog said. “Tweets with the latter two settings will be labeled and the reply icon will be grayed out so that it’s clear for people if they can’t reply. People who can’t reply will still be able to view, Retweet, Retweet with Comment, and like these Tweets,”

Tecno Spark 5 by Transsion holding brand Tecno Mobile has been officially launched in India. In the country, the company arrived with only one device whereas earlier this month the company introduced two mobile phones Spark 5 and Spark 5 Air in Ghana. Spark 5 is the successor of Spark 4 that was launched in the market in September last year. The device made its India debut with an affordable price tag along with quad-camera set up and a punch-hole design display.

Tecno Spark 5 pricing as well as availability:

Tecno Mobile has been launched in a single RAM and ROM variant in India. The  2GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage has been introduced with a price tag of Rs 7,999. The smartphone will be available for purchase via the offline retailer only. It is scheduled to go on sale starting May 25 and will be offered in two colour options  Ice Jadeite and Spark Orange.

Tecno Spark 5

On the purchase of the smartphone, the buyers will be offered 1-time screen replacement and 1-month extended warranty. In order to maintain social distancing, the company has made arrangements for doorstep delivery. All you need to do is click the link and enter your Pincode. After this, a list of outlets delivering the handset in your area will be generated. Interested ones can contact the outlet on the given number and the dealer will deliver the smartphone at your home.

Tecno Spark 5 specifications

Tecno Spark 5 runs on HiOS 6.1 on top of Android 10 OS. The smartphone comes with a 6.6-inch HD+ hole punch design display with 720×1,600 pixels of resolution. It is powered by a quad-core MediaTek Helio A22 processor combined with 2GB of RAM with  32GB of storage option. The internal storage can be expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card. It comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor along with a Face unlock support for authentication. 

On the imaging front, Tecno Spark 5 features a quad rear camera setup that includes a megapixel main camera sensor with f/1.8 aperture, a secondary 2-megapixel depth sensor, a tertiary 2-megapixel macro lens and lastly an AI camera. The camera system supports modes such as AI bokeh mode and HDR mode. For taking selfies and videos, there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera with  f/2.0 aperture and dual-LED flash support.

In addition to this, the smartphone boasts a 5000mAh battery. In terms of connectivity, there is 3.5mm audio jack, USB-Type C port, Bluetooth as well as Wi-Fi. The sensor onboard includes an Ambient Light sensor, Proximity sensor, and Accelerometer.

NASA’s SpaceX flight crew reaches Kennedy Space Center for May 27 liftoff

Ahead of the May 27 launch of NASA’s SpaceX flight, the crew members have reported to NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida to start final preparations for liftoff. NASA astronauts Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley are slated to lift off at 4:33 p.m. EDT on May 27 aboard a SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft carried by a Falcon 9 rocket. Mind you! This is the first launch of American astronauts from the US soil to the International Space Station (ISS) since the conclusion of the space shuttle era in 2011.

Before the final liftoff, the Demo-2 mission will serve as an end-to-end flight test to validate the SpaceX crew transportation system, from launch to docking to splashdown at the mission’s end. It is the final flight test for the system to be certified for regular, crew flights to the station as part of NASA’s Commercial Crew Program.

Expressing thankfulness for the opportunity, Behnken said. “We view it as an opportunity, but also, a responsibility – for the American people, for the SpaceX team, for all of NASA – who put this opportunity together and entrusted us with it.”

On the other hand, Hurley mention that he was one amongst the four astronauts who landed at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida almost nine years ago in T-38s on July 4, 2011 to close out the Space Shuttle Program.

Asserting that it’s incredibly humbling to start out the next [crewed] launch from the United States, Hurley said, “I also want to thank the incredible men and women of SpaceX that have put so many thousands of hours of work into this rocket and spacecraft. We’re looking forward to getting up close and personal with Falcon 9 and Crew Dragon in just a few days.”

While welcoming Behnken and Hurley as they stepped off the NASA Gulfstream aircraft at the runway’s parking apron, NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine, who was accompanied with the center Director Bob Cabana, said, “This will be the fifth time in American history when we have launched American astronauts on a brand-new vehicle. We did it in Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, we did it with the space shuttles, and now we’re going to do it with a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket and Crew Dragon capsule; and it’s these gentlemen that are going to have the opportunity to pioneer once more for the United States of America.”

With this, Cabana recalled the last time astronauts arrived to prepare for launch from Kennedy – the STS-135 crew, including Hurley, who piloted space shuttle Atlantis on the program’s final flight. “It’s been almost nine years since July 4, 2011. That’s the last time a crew flew into the landing facility on their way to space. I can’t tell you how great it is to welcome Bob and Doug here for this historic mission,” added Cabana.

And now the company has come with the ‘lock your profile’ feature on its platform allowing more control over their information on the social networking site. This feature is said to be rolled out to the users in the coming days. 

How to turn on lock your profile feature, from your profile

To recall, Facebook already has the Profile Picture Guard as the profile security features. But now the lock profile feature is the latest feature and will provide an extra layer of protection to your profile. If you turn on the feature, people whom you have are not friends with on the platform do not get access to share, download and zoom in your full-size profile picture, or even your cover picture. If this feature is enabled, non-friends will also not be able to view your old posts or new posts shared on your timeline. Also, an indicator is added to your profile page to remind you that your profile is locked.

Moto G8 Power Lite with 5,000mAh battery and triple rear cameras launched in India: Pricing and specifications 

Moto G8 Power Lite is now official in India. The company introduced the smartphone under the budget segment. The device will be exclusively available via e-commerce website Flipkart which is the official sales partner. The handset comes with a 5000mAh battery and is claimed to last for more than 2 days when fully charged. Moreover, there is a 16megapixel camera sensor and an HD+ display. Moto G8  Power Lite will be available in two colour options to choose from Royal Blue and Arctic Blue. Motorola has introduced the phone with an affordable price tag of Rs 8,999 for the single 4GB of RAM with 64GB of internal storage. The smartphone is scheduled to go on sale in the country via e retailer Flipkart starting May 29.  

The launch offer includes a 5 percent unlimited cashback on the purchase of Moto G8  Power Lite. This offer is valid for the customers using Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card for transactions. In addition to this, the company will be offering no-cost EMI options on the purchase of the device.

Moto G8 Power Lite runs Android Pie OS. The smartphone features a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with a water drop-style notch and 729×1600 pixels of resolution. The display features a 20:9 aspect ratio and 269ppi pixel density. The device is powered by 2.3GHz MediaTek Helio P35 processor being offered 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage. The mobile phone has a dedicated slot to house a microSD card in order to expand the internal memory up to 256GB. 

In terms of camera capabilities, the Moto G8 Power Lite features a triple rear camera set up that includes a 16-megapixel primary sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and PDAF.  In addition to this, there is a secondary 2-megapixel macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture and a tertiary 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. The camera set up supports various camera modes such as HDR mode with face beauty, dual camera bokeh effect, panorama, timer among others. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture. Both the front as well as the rear camera comes with support for 30fps 1080p video recording. 

Moreover, the smartphone houses a 5,000mAh battery that is supported by a 10W charging support. It is claimed to last for more than 2 days on a single charge, can deliver up to 19 hours of video playback and 100 hours of audio playback as well as 35 days of standby time.

 In terms of connectivity, Moto G8 Power Lite includes 4G LTE, Micro-USB port, 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth v4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS, A-GPS and GLONASS. The smartphone is water-repellent and comes with a rear fingerprint sensor located within the logo.

Moto G8 Power Lite all set to launch in India today

The Lenovo owned company, Motorola, is all set to introduce another new smartphone in India. Today, the company is going to launch Moto G8 Power Lite in the country. Motorola recently introduced its flagship Motorola Edge+ smartphone that comes with a waterfall display supporting 90Hz refresh rate along with a 108MP camera sensor. To recall G8 Power Lite was launched in the global market a few months back. The key highlights of the smartphone include a triple rear camera set up, a large 5,000mAh battery and a  water drop-style notch display. 

Moto G8 Power Lite expected to price in India

The company has listed Moto G8 Power Lite on Flipkart teasing the launch on May 21 that is today. Apart from that, the company did not reveal more details about its upcoming device in the country. The poster image says that the smartphone will get launched at 12 noon. 

To recall the mobile phone was introduced globally by Motorola at EUR 169 that translates to Rs 13,870 in India. It is expected to come with similar pricing and is going to be offered in two colour options Arctic Blue and Royal Blue.

It runs on Android 9 Pie and is powered by 2.3GHz MediaTek Helio P35 processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of built-in storage. The storage can be expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card.

For photos and videos, the smartphone comes with a triple rear camera set up that includes a 16-megapixel primary sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and PDAF.  In addition to this, there is a secondary  2-megapixel macro lens with f/2.4 aperture and a tertiary 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. For selfies, there is an 8-megapixel camera on the front with an f/2.0 aperture. Moreover, the smartphone houses a 5,000mAh battery that is supported by a 10W charging support.

Apple’s augmented reality glasses tipped to be called Apple Glass will be available by Q4 2020: Design, Features and pricing leaked

In the past, we have learnt a lot about the Apple mysterious augmented reality glasses. There have been lots of rumours and leaks related to the company AR glasses. Some said that it would be coming with a look similar to Facebooks’s Oculus Quest and some said it will be available by 2022. But now the tipster has shared a lot of details about the Apple upcoming device. First of all Apple’s rumoured augmented reality will be known as Apple Glass. 

In a YouTube video, by a tipster, Jon Prosser revealed that Apple’s alleged AR glasses will be called Apple Glass. In his YouTube video, he has discussed several leaks and revealed a bunch of important details such as the design, availability, and features of the Apple Glass. According to him, the AR glasses will be available in multiple variants and the base model is most likely to be priced at $499. 

The Apple Glasses are said to arrive in the Q4 2020 but it might get delayed due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis. Prosser claims that Apple might delay the scheduled event to March 2021 and the AR devices are expected to hit the shelves between Q4 2021 and Q1 2022.

In addition to this, he also discussed the design aspects of the rumoured Apple Glasses in his YouTube video. He claims that the glasses will be identical to regular glasses. In his video, he showcased that the company will be using plastic in place of glass which is going to be made from a different material. The Apple Glass is speculated to come with the wireless charging option accompanied by a plastic charging stand. To charge it the user will have to flip it upside down to be positioned on the charging stand. However, he also stated that the final design of the glasses might also change but the company will go with the standard glasses design. 

In his video, Prosser revealed that the processing for Apple Glass will be managed by the connected iPhone that is said to come with an affordable price. In addition to this, there is going to be a LiDAR sensor on the right temple and there will be no cameras on the Apple Glass taking care of the privacy. The information will be visible on both the lenses of the device. Apple will be using “Starboard” UI to control the gestures on the frame along with air gestures in the front of the augmented reality glasses. Moreover, the displayed information will only be visible to the wearer not to other people.

Huawei MediaPad T5 Tablet WiFi Edition has been launched in India. The device is now up for sale via Amazon India website. To recall the tablet was launched a year back with 4G LTE connectivity. But the company has arrived with the WiFI only variant in the country as well as in the other markets. The Huawei Tab with WiFi connectivity shares the same specifications with the 4G LTE version. It features a 10.1-inch full-HD display and is powered by Kirin 659 SoC.

Huawei MediaPad T5 Tablet WiFi Edition has been introduced in a single  3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage with a price tag of Rs 12,999 in India. The Tablet is exclusively available for purchase via e-commerce website Amazon. It will be offered in a single Black colour variant.

According to the company on the purchase of Huawei MediaPad T5 Tablet, the buyers will be offered a six months no-cost EMI option starting at Rs 612 per month along with Huawei AM61 Bluetooth earphones worth Rs. 3,990.

Apart from the EMI option, there is a 5 percent cash back on the transactions made via  Amazon Pay ICICI Bank Credit card for Prime members. Whereas the non-prime members will be getting a 3 percent cash back on the purchase of the tab. At the moment the website is only taking pre-paid orders for the device and will be delivered in Green, Orange and Red zones except for the containment zones.

The Tablet runs on  EMUI 8.0 based on top of Android 8.0. It is powered by octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 659 SoC coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. It comes with an Eye-comfort Mode for your children that reduces harmful blue light to create healthy reading conditions. Moreover, there is posture guidance, blue light filter, limited using time being offered by the company for the kids.

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor announced the launch of its new smartphone under its X-series. The company has launched Honor X10 in China powered by Kirin 820 SoC for 5G connectivity. The device comes with a triple camera setup, a 90Hz display with 180Hz touch sampling rate along with a pop-up selfie camera. The company has introduced the mobile phone under the mid-range segment. 

Honor X10 pricing and availability

Honor 10X with 5G connectivity has been launched in China. The company has introduced the device in different configurations. The 6GB of RAM with 64GB storage comes with a price tag of CNY 1,899 that translates to Rs 20,200 whereas the 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage is priced at CNY 2,199 that comes around Rs 23,400. Lastly, the 8GB of RAM with 128GB of storage model will be available at Rs 25,500. The company will be offering the phone in three colour options Lightspeed Silver, Probing Black, and Racing Blue. It has been listed on Vmall and is now up for pre-order. The handset is scheduled to go on sale from May 26.

Honor X10 specifications

Honor 10X comes with a 6.63-inch full-HD+display with 1,080×2,400 pixels of resolution, 397ppi pixel density and 92 per cent screen to body ratio. It runs on Android 10 based MagicUI3.1.1  on top. It is going to draw its power from octa-core Kirin 820 SoC paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB of onboard storage. There is a separate slot to house an NM card to expand the memory up to 256GB. The HONOR X10 features the Kirin Gaming+ 2.0 with new AI frequency modulation scheduling technology that achieves a balance between gaming performance and power consumption. It is also equipped with the latest GPU-Turbo to provide more high-performance support for most popular games.

In terms of cameras, Honor 10X features a triple rear camera set up that includes a 40-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture. There is a secondary 8-megapixel sensor with an f/2.4 aperture and a tertiary 2-megapixel sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. For taking selfies and video calling there is a 16-megapixel pop-up selfie camera with an f/2.2 aperture.

The connectivity option includes 5G,4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS/A-GPS, 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port. The device houses a 4,300mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging support.

Apple and Google rollout COVID-19 contact tracing tool for Android handsets and iPhones

In order to assist governments and health agencies across the globe in enabling contact tracing, Apple and Google had earlier announced that the tech giants will be together launching a comprehensive solution that includes application programming interfaces (APIs) and operating system-level technology. Now, Apple and Google’s Exposure Notifications technology is available to public health agencies to work more accurately, reliably and effectively across both Android phones and iPhones.

According to a joint statement from Apple and Google, “What we’ve built is not an app—rather public health agencies will incorporate the API into their own apps that people install. Our technology is designed to make these apps work better. Each user gets to decide whether or not to opt-in to Exposure Notifications; the system does not collect or use location from the device; and if a person is diagnosed with COVID-19, it is up to them whether or not to report that in the public health app. User adoption is key to success and we believe that these strong privacy protections are also the best way to encourage use of these apps.”

The tech giants further added that “this technology is in the hands of public health agencies across the world who will take the lead and we will continue to support their efforts.”

Up until now, public health officials have used contact tracing as one of the most effective techniques during the COVID-19 outbreak. Through this approach, public health officials contact, test, treat and advise people who may have been exposed to an affected person. However, one new element of contact tracing is Exposure Notifications: using privacy-preserving digital technology to tell someone they may have been exposed to the virus, as revealed in a joint statement issued by Apple and Google.

As per Apple and Google, “Exposure Notification has the specific goal of rapid notification, which is especially important to slowing the spread of the disease with a virus that can be spread asymptomatically.”

In an earlier announcement, the second step that Apple and Google will take in the coming months is to enable a broader Bluetooth-based contact tracing platform by building the functionality into the underlying platforms. “This is a more robust solution than an API and would allow more individuals to participate, if they choose to opt in, as well as enable interaction with a broader ecosystem of apps and government health authorities. Privacy, transparency, and consent are of utmost importance in this effort, and we look forward to building this functionality in consultation with interested stakeholders. We will openly publish information about our work for others to analyse,” as per the tech giants.

Over the last several weeks, Apple and Google have worked together by reaching out to public health officials, scientists, privacy groups and government leaders all over the world to get their input and guidance. The two companies believe that there has never been a more important moment to work together to solve one of the world’s most pressing problems. Emphasising on close cooperation and collaboration with developers, governments and public health providers, Google and Apple hope to harness the power of technology to help countries around the world slow the spread of COVID-19 and accelerate the return of everyday life.
