Earlier this week, Flipboard, a popular news platform revealed that its database which contained the account information of the users was hacked. The company has also sent emails to all its users revealing the matter. The official Flipboard website has also posted a security incident notice which reveals the details about the data breach. Flipboard has around 150 million users but it remains unknown about the number of users who were affected with the attack. Taking a precautionary measure, the platform reset the passwords of all its users, the reset includes the passwords which were protected cryptographically.

At the given price point, the Samsung Galaxy M40 will compete with some of the most popular smartphones in their category like the Redmi Note 7 Pro, Nokia 7.1, Poco F1, etc. Since the Samsung Galaxy M40 is listed on Amazon India, it is safe to assume that the device when launched will be sold through Amazon and Samsung Online Stores. Amazon Echo Show 5 with 5.5-inch display launched in India: Price and features

After it launched the Amazon Echo Show in India, the e-commerce giant has unveiled a new product in the country – Amazon Echo Show 5. The newly launched Amazon Echo Show 5 comes with a 5.5-inch 960×480-pixels display and sports a 1MP camera. The device has a single full-range speaker that is 1.65-inches in size. The smart speaker from Amazon is way more affordable than the Amazon Echo Show, which is priced at Rs 22,999. The new device can be picked up at Rs 8,999 and has a number of features in common with the high-end one. The shipping of Amazon Echo Show 5 will begin on July 18 in India.

Interested customers will be able to choose the Amazon Echo Show 5 in two colour options – White and Black. Just like the high-end Amazon Echo Show, the new smart display-cum-speaker lets users communicate with the company’s popular AI-based digital assistant Alexa. Other than this, users will also be able to get visual cues to Alexa’s verbal responses via the 5.5-inch touchscreen on the device. So, if you are looking for lists, recipes or videos, the screen on Amazon Echo Show 5 will prove to be useful.

We should also mention that just like any other Amazon Echo devices that come with a screen, the Amazon Echo Show 5 can be used to make video calls, watch TV shows, stream music and even control compatible devices. A number of Alexa skills can be activated by the users and the screen of the device proves to be a useful addition in most cases.

Powered by MediaTek MT8163 chipset, the Echo Show 5 can be connected to the internet using a Wi-Fi connection. The smart speaker also has Bluetooth functionality, much like any other wireless speaker. Using the Bluetooth connectivity option, it can be connected to various devices including smartphones, tablets, and even laptops and computers.

Another important feature that we should talk about is the ability of users to delete voice recordings and any Amazon records of they said to the speaker with just a simple command. The speaker also addresses the privacy concern that some people has with a button that can control a physical shutter for the camera and a button that has been used to turn off the microphone.

We should point out that since Amazon Echo Show 5 is available at Rs 8,999 in India, it is the most affordable of the other Echo devices that are available with a screen. While the Echo show is priced at Rs 22,999, the Echo Spot costs Rs 12,999.

Microsoft Excel for iPhone can now click photos of spreadsheets

Software giant Microsoft is updating Excel for iPhone so that users will be able to import spreadsheets and tables into the app using their handset’s camera. The feature isn’t a new one as it first made its debut on the Android version of the Microsoft Excel app in March this year. Now, it has finally made its way to iPhones. With the new feature, iPhone users will be able to take a picture of a printed data table and convert it into a fully-editable table in the Excel app.

Furthermore, the feature will also enable them to import the data with Excel for iPhone and then resume editing it, even if you use the app via Windows or Mac. The company has deployed artificial intelligence to get this useful feature to Excel for iPhone. It has also made use of optical character recognition (OCR) and machine learning to convert paper-based data into digital tables.

The image recognition in the app will be able to detect financial spreadsheets, work schedules, task lists, timetables, and other kinds of tables. It is one of the most impressive features in Microsoft’s Excel mobile apps yet. The company had to club its work on the PDF Reflow feature for word, the Office Lens app and Seeing AI in order to get this feature to work right.

The new Microsoft Excel feature is available for iPhones in 21 countries starting today. Users will just need to update their apps in order to start using the new feature.

We should also mention that when this feature was rolled out for Android, it was announced that it will be available to Microsoft 365 users too. Other than this, the company also said back then that its Authenticator app will start getting Microsoft Account security alerts. These security alerts can be used to secure personal accounts like Outlook.com. Just like other authenticator apps do, the feature sends users notifications when an account password is changed. They are also notified about other account related activities via the feature. The software giant has added these alerts in the Microsoft Authenticator for both iOS and Android.

How to live with a smartphone with low internal storage

Smartphones today are able to store data beyond what we could have hoped for a few years ago as 128GB and 256GB internal storage has become a norm. People can use the data available on smartphones to store their apps, data, pictures, etc. But that is possible today, a few years earlier, smartphones didn’t have that amount of internal storage. Earlier, we had to rely on external storage like microSD cards for data storage so that our phones could work properly with some memory remaining.

However, even today, there are a number of entry-level smartphones that come with very limited RAM and internal storage. Users of such handsets often face problems about what they should keep in their smartphone and what they must delete. Having too many files on such devices slows down the performance.

Luckily, there are a number of things that you can do to make the most of the limited storage on your smartphone in a way that it doesn’t affect your day to day life. Read on to find out more about it.

  1. Backup your photos to Google Photos – All the smartphones today come with Google applications and one of the most useful apps by the technology giant is Google Photos. Google Photos does what its name suggests, it stores photographs in its online/cloud storage. You can even set it to the automatic backup mode by going to the Settings so that whenever you click a picture from your camera, it will automatically get saved in your Google Photos account. You can later delete the photo from the internal memory to clear up space.
  2. Clear Cache – Cache is the temporary files that an Android system uses for later references. It saves time and bandwidth when an application is launched. But over a period of time, the app collects too much cache which gets stored in the internal storage of the device. You should clear the cache by going to the Settings of the device, then to the application then to Clear Cache to clear the stored up the cache.
  3. Using Light (Lite) apps – Some of the major applications like Facebook, Messenger uses data which is too much for a device with low storage. First, these apps are heavy in size and secondly, they use lots of memory to work. But using Lite version of the same apps can give you enough space with the same experience. The Lite app versions could be downloaded from Google Play Store.

4. Streaming music or videos – There are users who have a habit of storing music files or videos in the internal storage of their smartphones. Over time, this could be a problem as the apps and the Android system uses more data, that data gets collected and the storage gets low. So to avoid getting the ‘Low Storage’ message on your device, you should stream music and videos online instead of storing them in the internal storage.

5. Use the expandable storage wisely – The use of microSD card would save the trouble of internal memory as the user can store their files on it. But it should be noted that the external storage should be used wisely and extra and additional files from the internal storage should be transferred to the microSD card or the external storage of the smartphone.

Should the US trade ban on Huawei worry Xiaomi?

If you follow technology news, you would know that Chinese smartphone brand Huawei has been at loggerheads with the US government for quite some time now. The tensions between the two became far more serious this month when the Trump administration imposed a ban on all the companies in the United States from doing any kind of business with Huawei. What followed was after the US trade ban was quite a nightmare for Huawei.

All major technology companies that are based in the United States, including Google, Intel, Qualcomm, Broadcom and Microsoft, halted their business with the Chinese smartphone brand. ARM, which is not based in the US but manufactures some chips there, also followed the suit.

This means that Huawei now does not have access to Android (except the version available as open source), mobile processors and Windows platform for laptops. While it has been reported that the company has stockpiled enough components to last three months to a year, it is far from being a permanent solution. It is nearly impossible for any company to produce smartphones without all these companies. Ironically, this happened right after Huawei took over Apple as the No.2 smartphone brand in the world in terms of shipments.

All of this happened with Huawei because the Chinese government is said to be using the company’s devices for spying on users. Although this is something that Huawei has always denied, the reports about this aren’t new. But then, the United States government seems convinced enough that this is actually the case. The government issued a warning to consumers to avoid using devices from Huawei saying that they are a threat to national security. More recently, it imposed the ban on doing any kind of business with the company too.

While Huawei has a huge battle to fight right now, the real question is that are other Chinese smartphone manufacturers safe? Or should they be equally worried too? We should mention that reports have previously surfaced online that claim that other Chinese smartphone makers like Xiaomi, Vivo and Oppo are also being used to spy on people. If this is indeed true, then how safe are these companies right now?

Since Huawei has been embroiled in the controversy with the US government, the sales of all of these companies have gone up. However, that may be just a very temporary thing to have happened. If other Chinese smartphone makers are found to be as guilty as Huawei, then we should mention that companies in the United States may halt their business with them too, which will put all of them in danger. This will not only hurt the companies’ future business, but also the consumers who would stop receiving Android updates. This has already happened with Huawei P30 Pro users, as the premium smartphone has been removed from Android’s official website and other platforms.

Another cause of concern for users of smartphones from these companies is their data. Even if they use their smartphones for a year and then change it, they should remember that the Chinese government may be accessing all of their data. Considering the fact that smartphones are today used to access even banking apps, this makes it a very risky thing to have a smartphone from the likes of Xiaomi with you.

We spoke to Faisal Kawoosa, Founder and Chief Analyst of Analytics Research Consulting firm techARC, about how US trade ban will affect Chinese brands other than Huawei, and he said, “If the issue escalates, then companies other than Huawei will be impacted. This includes Chinese smartphone brands as well as American companies like Google because, at the end of the day, Android is also primarily spread by Chinese smartphones. So businesses in both countries will be affected. But then, as of now, it seems unlikely that the situation will become that bad.”

Kawoosa also spoke about how India will be affected by US trade ban saying, “Indian market will be affected by this, because we depend on the United States as well as China when it comes to smartphones. It is in the best interest for all that Huawei and the US resolve the matter.”

It may be too soon to determine what will happen to Chinese smartphone makers other than Huawei, we can say one thing: If Huawei smartphones are used by the Chinese government to spy on people, chances are that other companies like Xiaomi would not be exempted from this either. So, we can safely say that if using a Huawei smartphone is a threat to security, then using another device from a Chinese company is not safe either. Till the time a conclusion between the US and Huawei is reached, buying any smartphone from any Chinese brand may mean potentially having to use a handset that does not even get Android updates.

Xiaomi teases a new Mi 9-series smartphone with a pop-up selfie camera

0

Xiaomi has released its much-awaited Redmi K20 and the Redmi K20 Pro smartphones in China. The Redmi K20 Pro is the flagship device of the Redmi brand while the Mi 9 is the flagship smartphone of Xiaomi with flagship like performance and specifications. The Mi 9 was launched back in February in China but the global and India launch of the device will take place in June. Now, the company is reportedly planning to add another device to the Mi 9 series.

Xiaomi has shared an image of a smartphone with a triple camera setup on its back and a gradient back panel. The company asked the users of what the name of the device was. It revealed the device through a tweet asking, “K, I or T…Which letter would you choose for the newest member of our Mi9 family? why? #PopUpInStyle”. There is also a pop-up selfie camera present on the new smartphone teased by Xiaomi.

Other than the details mentioned above, the company didn’t reveal much about the upcoming smartphone. But a new device named Mi 9T has reportedly received certifications in Thailand and Taiwan. The smartphone’s name which has received the certificate hasn’t been named yet but is alleged that it is the Mi 9T. The smartphone received the NBTC certification in Thailand and NCC certification in Taiwan. Since the unnamed Xiaomi smartphone has received the certification, the launch of the handset is certain.

The new smartphone teased by Xiaomi looks like the Mi 9 from the looks of its camera placement and back panel, as the Mi 9 had the same vertically placed camera module and gradient back panel.

But it should be noted that the Xiaomi’s Mi 9 series smartphones have a full-screen display design meaning that they are to have the pop-up selfie camera. The company even teased and hinted about the pop-up camera placement with the use of its ‘#PopUpInStyle’ hashtag. However, the regular Mi 9 flagship smartphone holds a waterdrop notch display design which holds the front camera sensor. So, it is clear that the smartphone teased by the company is not the regular Mi 9 but a new device in the Mi 9 series, more likely the Mi 9T.

Since the Mi 9 is about to go on its global launch in June, there is a big possibility that the new Xiaomi Mi9 smartphone will also be launched at the same event.

Microsoft’s modern OS to receive updates invisibly, will support cloud based applications

Microsoft is coming up with a new kind of operating system (OS) which will have many new features. However, we are not talking about Windows Lite here. Microsoft’s corporate vice president, Nick Parker revealed today at Computex 2019 about the new OS as the company’s vision for a modern operating system. Parker didn’t reveal anything about the awaited Windows Lite OS, but he did confirm the ways they were preparing for the new devices. The company also said that the modern OS updates are done invisibly.

The new OS from Microsoft is called the ‘modern OS’ and it will receive ‘enablers’ like seamless updates. According to Microsoft, the modern OS will receive updates which will happen in the background. The updates of modern OS’ will be “deterministic, reliable and instant with no interruptions.” This is a completely different path than the Windows 10 updates and it is more like Chrome OS.

According to Microsoft, the modern OS platform is secure by default, and it means that the state is separated from the OS and the compute is separated from the apps. In addition to this, the company wants the modern OS to work with 5G connectivity and will also work with inputs like pen, voice, touch and gaze.

Parker said, “These enablers and delighters underpin our vision for a Modern OS, they will provide the foundational elements for an evolution of the PC ecosystem and enable partners to deliver the more human-centric experiences of tomorrow.”

Furthermore, the company with the modern OS is focusing more towards the cloud-connected device experience which would use the compute power of the cloud to make the user experience better.

T-Series’ YouTube channel becomes the first to cross 100 million subscribers

Indian record label T-Series’ YouTube channel has become the first ever to cross the mark of 100 million subscribers on the popular video sharing platform. The YouTube channel had surpassed all other channels and influencers in terms of subscribers back in April this year when it surpassed PewDiePie with a lead of over 9,20,000 subscribers. Today, it has unlocked a new achievement by crossing the 100 million subscriber mark.

At the time of writing, the T-Series’ YouTube channel had 100,015,362 subscribers. We should mention that a lot of different aspects have led to this achievement. To begin with, the war of telecommunication companies in the country has led to a fall in data prices. This made a lot more users spend time on the internet and social media, and YouTube was no exception to that.

Secondly, the sub-Rs 5,000 segment in the Indian smartphone market has seen some good additions last year, especially with Android Go platform. This has led to a number of people use smartphones for the first time ever. With more number of people in India using smartphones, more number of people started using YouTube.

Thirdly, YouTube made its way to feature phones like JioPhone, JioPhone 2 and Nokia 8110 4G last year. With this, the platform was not only limited to smartphone users in the country but even to those who used feature phones.

All three factors led to an increase in the number of people using YouTube. That, in turn, led to more people coming to T-Series’ YouTube channel. The reason why an increase in YouTube’s user base in India is directly proportional to an increase in T-Series’ subscribers is the content on the channel. T-Series‘ YouTube channel has music videos from Bollywood, and this category is immensely popular with the Indian population. So, as more Indians came to YouTube for the first time, more number of people subscribed to T-Series.

We should mention that last year, the sudden increase in the channel’s popularity led to a war between PewDiePie and T-series for the maximum number of subscribers on YouTube. T-Series eventually surpassed PewDiePie as the biggest YouTube channel. However, before that, a number of things were done by PewDiePie and his followers to oppose it.

For instance, some printers were hacked last year which urged people to follow PewDiewPie. The YouTuber himself made two videos, Bitch Lasagna and Congratulations, in which he dissed T-Series, India and Indian people.

How a Redditor managed to buy Moto Z4 even before it was officially announced

0

Motorola’s next phone will be the Moto Z4 and it hasn’t been formally announced by the company yet. But earlier this week, the device was listed on Amazon’s product’s page and someone ordered and bought the unannounced Moto Z4. After that, Amazon pulled it down from their products page.

The YouTuber and Redditor named JETFIRE007 was the customer who ordered and bought the unannounced Moto Z4. He has also shared the specifications and the first impressions of the device on his channel. The Moto Z4 was put on sale early on Amazon as it was listed on the sales page before even the company had announced the device.

Moto Z4 specifications and price

The new and real Moto Z4 specifications and the device itself matches with the previous leaks of the device. The Moto Z4 sports a 6.4-inch Full HD+ OLED display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top. It is powered by the Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 675 SoC paired with Adreno 608 GPU. The Moto Z4 runs Android 9 Pie and it packs a 3,600mAh battery with 15W fast charging support. The live Moto Z4 comes with 128GB of internal storage with option for expandable storage and it will come with an option for hands-free Amazon’s Alexa support.

On the camera front, the Moto Z4 packs a single-rear camera that has a 48MP lens with Motorola’s Quad Pixel technology which offers high-quality 12MP pictures. The front camera of the Moto Z4 has a 25MP lens with a teardrop notch design on top. The selfie camera also comes with a group selfie mode.

The Moto Z4 comes with a USB Type-C port and the 3.5mm headphone jack. The Moto Z4 retail package also included the 360-degree camera Moto Mod which can be used for photography with the device.

Currently, the device is listed down from Amazon and probably won’t appear until the company officially announces it. Once it launches it will most probably be listed on Amazon for purchase. The Moto Z4 comes with a price tag of $500 (approximately Rs 34,956).

A smartphone going on sale even before it is announced may be a surprise and a big blunder on the company’s part but it is not the first time it has happened. Back in 2017, Motorola’s entire line-up of 2017 devices was leaked online before its presentation. Talking about leaks and renders are one thing but an unannounced smartphone going on sale is totally another.

After Samsung Galaxy M10, the Samsung Galaxy M20 and the Samsung Galaxy M30 received largely positive reviews in the Indian market, the company is planning to launch another device in its Galaxy M-series. The new Samsung Galaxy M40 was already announced by the company after the launch of the Samsung Galaxy M30 and now it has been confirmed that it will be coming to the India on June 11. Samsung has revealed a teaser of its upcoming device – Samsung Galaxy M40 – on its official website and Amazon India. Since it is listed on Amazon.in, there is a chance it will be sold exclusively on Amazon itself. Some highlights of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy M40 is that it will feature an Infinity-O or punch-hole display (similar to the Samsung Galaxy S10-series) and it will be the first in its series. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 600-series SoC which is also a first in its series as the earlier Samsung Galaxy M-series device are powered by company’s own Exynos CPUs.

The Samsung Galaxy M40 is still days away and it is already listed on Amazon India which hints that Amazon will be the exclusive seller of the device. The Samsung Galaxy M40 will also sport a triple-rear camera at the back and it will be the fourth smartphone in the Samsung Galaxy M-series. Before the launch of the device, the South Korean technology giant has shared some of the images of the Samsung Galaxy M40 on its official website and Amazon India as a teaser. The teaser images show a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner at the back along with a single LED flash beside the camera setup.

Samsung Galaxy M40 price and specifications (expected)

Although the official specifications of the device are currently not out but according to the leaks the Samsung Galaxy M40 will sport a Super AMOLED with a punch-hole camera cutout. It will reportedly be powered by the Snapdragon 675 SoC and will pack a huge 5,000mAh battery. There will reportedly be 6GB of RAM on the device paired with 128GB of internal storage. iOS 13 screenshots leaked ahead of Apple’s WWDC 2019, show the new Dark Mode

0

Cupertino-based technology giant will be holding its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) keynote on next Monday. The company is expected to make a number of software and service-related announcements at the WWDC 2019. The key announcement at the event is supposed to be the iOS 13. However, ahead of the event, some screenshots of the iOS 13 have surfaced online that show the new Dark Mode that Apple was rumoured to be working on for so long.

The screenshots of iOS 13, that were first shared by 9to5Mac, and according to them, the Dark Mode will appear to work across the dock in apps like Music and the built-in screenshot toll. The company will reportedly also add a switch in the Control Center or within the main iOS Settings page.

The Reminders app for iOS 13 can also appear to be completely revamped in the company’s next operating system update. The app can be seen to come with separate sections for today, scheduled, flagged, and all. The app will also let you search through existing reminders. Apple is also reported to combine its Find my Friends and Find my iPhone apps into a single app called ‘Find My’. This app is also likely to be unveiled at the WWDC 2019 next week.

Apple’s iOS 13 is said to include a revamped Health app, upgraded Maps app, and come with native support to use the iPad as a secondary Mac screen. The Dark Mode will be among the most prominent change across the iPhone and iPad. However, we should mention that a number of third-party apps have already created Dark Mode skin for their apps.

The Cupertino based technology giant had sent out invites for its event last week and confirmed that the event will take place on June 3 at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California. It is a very important event for Apple considering how much it has started focussing on its services business lately.

We should mention that over the past few years, Apple has made a number of services including augmented reality, mobile payments and music-streaming. More recently, Apple also announced its News subscription service and Apple TV+, for which it has partnered with many celebrities including Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston.

At the WWDC 2019, we expect the Cupertino based technology giant to come up with more details about what its plans with its services and also give us an insight into the iOS 13. Luckily, we don’t have to wait too much for it as June 3 is less than a fortnight away.

0

Computex 2019 is mid-way through and all the major brands are launching and announcing their next projects and products at the event. Intel is no exception to this and the company has launched and unveiled multiple products at the event. Most of these products are currently a ‘Prototype’ project which the company is working on but there are some which would be launched for the general consumers sometime later. Now, the company has come up with a new ‘Honeycomb Glacier’ form factor laptop with a secondary screen. It is something similar to the Asus’s ZenBook Pro Duo which was also announced earlier at Computex 2019.

Apple refreshes iPod Touch after 4 years: Here’s everything that’s new

0

Cupertino based technology giant Apple has done something that nobody was expecting it to. The company has refreshed its iPod Touch after almost four years. The new iPod Touch is powered by Apple’s A10 Fusion chip, which is the same processor that is found in iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and even the 2018 iPad. The technology giant has also introduced a 256GB variant of its iPod Touch with the new refreshed version.

We should mention that iPod Touch was refreshed last in July 2015, and its last version was launched along with iPod shuffle and iPod nano. The previous version of iPod Touch was powered by the Apple A8 chip, which is also present in the iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus. According to the company, the new version’s CPU works twice as fast as the predecessor’s and offers three times better graphics.

iPod Touch price in India

The iPod Touch is available in three storage variants in India – 32GB variant, 128GB model and 256GB version. While the base model costs Rs 18,900, the 128GB storage model is priced at Rs 28,900, and the most high-end version bears a price tag of Rs 38,900. We should mention that the prices of the 32GB and 128GB storage variants in India have gone up by Rs 1,900 and Rs 3,600 respectively.

The newly launched iPod Touch comes in six colour options — Space Grey, White, Gold, Blue, Pink, and (PRODUCT)RED. It will be available for purchase in India starting early next month, however, as of now, no clear date has been specified.

iPod Touch features

The new iPod Touch comes with support for Group FaceTime video calls and ARKit, which are both features that were not present on its predecessor, so it’s not surprising to see that Apple is highlighting these so much. We should point out that the iPod Touch features a 4-inch display, which is the same size as the iPhone SE.

As we mentioned earlier, the refreshed iPod Touch comes with Apple’s A10 Fusion chip. Apart from this, most other specifications and features of the device remain the same as its predecessor. The iPod Touch comes with a 1.2MP front-facing camera and an 8MP rear camera.

The refreshed version of the iPod Touch is 6.1mm thin and at 88 grams, it is the lightest ever iOS device yet. The battery life of the iPod Touch is said to be up to 40 hours for music playback and up to 8 hours for video playback.

TikTok parent ByteDance to launch its own smartphone: Report

Chinese technology company ByteDance, which owns the popular video sharing app TikTok, has seen tremendous success in the last one year. While it is not the company that founded the app, it acquired Musical.ly and merged it into TikTok. In India, it gained a lot of attention and garnered a huge user-base. Now, reports have surfaced online that suggest that ByteDance is looking to expand its services and is working to launch a new smartphone. The ByteDance smartphone will come pre-loaded with various apps by the company.

As of now, no details about the ByteDance smartphone are available, but it is speculated to be a budget device that will cater to the typical audience that uses apps by the company. According to the report in the Financial Times, the handset is currently in works.

Apart from TikTok, ByteDance’s portfolio also includes Douyin, which is the Chinese version of TikTok. While both the apps are known to work on the same software, ByteDance has separate networks for both of them since China has stricter censorship laws. News Republic and TopBuzz are also a part of the company’s portfolio.

Another report that cites Financial Times says that the smartphone will have the entire suite of ByteDance‘s consumer apps pre-installed on it. The handset is also expected to have features that are geared around the TikTok app. As we mentioned earlier, the ByteDance smartphone is expected to be a budget offering as most of the people who use the TikTok are young and they may not want to buy something in the premium smartphone category.

According to a report in The Verge, ByteDance has signed a deal with Smartisan to get the patent portfolio and hire some of their employees. By doing this, the company may be getting things in place to make its own smartphone. However, we can’t say whether people or even die-hard TikTok fans would be willing to buy a smartphone like this, especially because the app works on all Android and iOS devices.

A few weeks back, TikTok had faced a ban in India and was taken off from Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store. This happened because a PIL was filed which claimed that the app had a lot of pornographic content. Later, the ban was removed from the app under the condition that it regulates the content on its platform better and ensures that no inappropriate videos stay there.
