Last week, the Chinese smartphone maker Oppo brought to India a new smartphone. The company launched Oppo Reno 3 Pro in the country with the world’s first 44-megapixel dual selfie camera. The Smartphone is the redesigned variant of the Reno device, which was launched last year in China. The Indian variant comes with a dual hole-punch display along with a 64-megapixel quad camera set up. The device is now available on sale across the country via leading online platforms as well as offline retailers. Read on to know more about the launch offers and specifications.

Oppo Reno 3 Pro pricing and availability

The company launched Oppo Reno 3 in the country in two RAM and storage variants. The 8GB RAM with 128GB storage variant can be purchased at Rs 29,990 while the 8GB of RAM with 256GB is available with a price tag of Rs 32,990.

The device will be available in three colour options: Auroral Blue, Sky White, and Midnight Black. Interested buyers can purchase Oppo Reno 3 Pro via e-commerce platforms Flipkart, Amazon, Paytm and Tata Cliq as well as offline retailers. The handset went on sale in India from March 6th. 

On the first three days of the sale, customers can purchase the device offline at a 10% Cashback applicable on HDFC Bank Debit/Credit Card EMI and Consumer Loans, ICICI Bank Credit/Debit EMI and RBL Bank Credit Card EMI. The no-cost EMI options are also available on Bajaj Finserv, HDB Financial Services, IDFC First Bank and HDFC Bank. In addition to this, the  Jio customers can avail additional data on Rs 249 and Rs 349 plans on the purchase of the mobile phone. The buyers are also eligible to avail complete damage protection and 1,000 lucky customers will also get a chance to get their hands on Enco Free true wireless headphones. 

Oppo Reno 3 Pro specifications

Talking about the specification Oppo Reno 3 Pro comes with a  6.7-inch full-HD+ Super AMOLED display with 1080×2400 pixels of resolution along with a 20:9 aspect ratio and 91.5 percent screen-to-body ratio. The device runs on ColorOS 7 on top of Android 10. It is powered by octa-core MediaTek Helio P95 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage and with PowerVR GM 9446 GPU.

For photos and videos, oppo Reno features 4 cameras. The camera set up includes a 64-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, a 13-megapixel telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture, an  8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with 119.9 degrees of field of view and a 2-megapixel mono lens. While on the front it employs dual selfie camera consisting of a 4-megapixel primary camera with f/2.4 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture.

For connectivity, there is 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS and a USB Type-C port. Oppo Reno 3 Pro houses a 4,025mAh battery with 30W VOOC Flash Charge 4.0 technology.

WhatsApp will roll out these new features soon: Protect backup, disappearing messages and more

The popular chatting app WhatsApp has recently rolled out the much-awaited Dark mode on its platform for its Android as well as iOS users globally. The dark theme has been under the testing mode for almost a year before it could reach all the users. Besides this, the company is also testing some other new features that will also be rolled out to all the users worldwide soon. These include multiple device support, disappearing messages, dark mode for web and desktop among others.

The Dark Mode feature on WhatsApp has reached both Android as well as iOS users. Personally speaking, this feature has improved the overall look as well as user experience. This feature reduces eye strain under low light environments or when the lights are turned off or in our daily routine. Those who are unknown can enable it in system settings. Users on Android 9 and below can go into WhatsApp Settings > Chats > Theme > select ‘Dark’.

The Facebook-owned social media platform is also testing some more features which will enhance the user experience. Below we have listed some upcoming features that will arrive on the platform very soon.

Protect Backup 

The company is working on this feature, which will allow the user to encrypt their backup file with a password so that neither WhatsApp nor Google will be allowed to see its content. The user might not be able to restore his chat history if he loses the password used to encrypt the database. Moreover, they will get an option to turn on and off the feature. This feature is currently unavailable as it is in an alpha stage of development.

Dark Mode for web and desktop

WhatsApp was also spotted testing the dark theme web and desktop. According to a leak, the new feature will bring a completely new look to the interface. This is under development and it will take some time as the company has just started working on the platform to be implemented correctly. 

Multiple device support

Multiple device support features on WhatsApp will allow the users to use one single account on multiple platforms. This means the users will be able to use one account enabled on multiple devices and the users do not require to sign out of their previous account. This feature has also been under testing for quite a long time now.

Face unlock support

Currently, the chatting app allows its user to prevent their privacy with fingerprint lock support. It allows them to unlock the app using a user fingerprint. Now the company is testing another authentication feature called Face Unlock for Android users. After the rollout, the users can set these features for the app to prevent their chatting messages from being read by someone without consent. This works exactly how your device’s face unlocking works for the biometrics.

Disappearing messages

This feature is also under development and it’s been almost a year since it has been put on testing. The disappearing messages work exactly like the Snapchat feature, which automatically gets vanished after 24 hours. But here you get an option to set a time frame. Setting this will automatically delete the message after the set time.

Are you surprised by the sudden coughing sound when you are calling someone? Yes? Then the telecom firms are to be blamed or in this case, appraised. In India, the telecom operators have replaced the default caller tune with Coronavirus advisory. The Indian government has ordered all the telecom operators in the country to play a 30-second audio clip on coronavirus as a default caller tune of all mobile phone users in order to spread awareness about the epidemic. 

Yes, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has made a request to the Department of Telecommunications to order all the telecom firms in the country to replace the default caller tune with a 30-second audio clip to create awareness among the citizens about Coronavirus. This is applicable to those who have or not have subscribed to a particular caller tune. Whenever you call someone you will hear a coughing sound on dialling a number followed by the message. 

The state-owned BSNL and Jio have also implemented the coronavirus information clip to those mobile users who have not subscribed caller tune on their numbers. The information clips can be heard for 30 seconds that educate people on how to stay protected from the virus. 

Whenever you dial a number you could hear a coughing sound following the preventive measures one should follow that also includes a 24X7 helpline number. 

The pre-call awareness can be heard in Both Hindi as well as in English, which begins with a coughing sound followed by a message. It asks the people to always cover your face with a handkerchief or tissue while coughing or sneezing. One should wash their hands using soap and water. It is recommended to avoid touching your face, eyes, or nose. One should maintain a distance of one metre with a person who has a cough, fever, or breathlessness. The awareness clip also advises the user to visit their nearest health centre immediately in this case and also provides a helpline number +91-11-23797-8046.

According to ANI the Health Minister on Friday only asked BSNL and Reliance Jio to put up pre-call awareness messages, which is now followed by other mobile phone operators such as Airtel, Vodafone Idea, MTNL as well as Tata DoCoMo. These operators have also started playing the audio clip to educate people about the Coronavirus outbreak in India. The government has also directed the telcos to send bulk SMS/PUSH notification on the simple dos and don’ts to all their subscribers.

Even the local Kirana shops are reportedly clearing out shelves of hand sanitizers. Some leading online retailers such as Flipkart are quoting a 30 ml bottle of hand sanitizer 16 times the MRP when it is needed the most.

The shortage of hand sanitizers in the country has started creating panic among the people with the arrival of Coronavirus. The stock is running out while the online retailer has started charging to a greater extent. Even other ether there is a shortage of other disinfectant liquids and masks in the market. Some online retailers such as Flipkart are selling it for unreasonable. A seller named SuperRetails has listed a 30Ml bottle of Himalaya PureHands at Rs 999, which is too high. To this, the consumers have taken this issue on to Twitter, to express their protest with regards to the sky-high prices of hand sanitizers and other products on the online medium.

To this Himalaya Drug Company promised to take action against those who are responsible for this. The sellers are charging too much after the outbreak of Coronavirus in India. The company on this made a clarification tweet and ensured them that they have not increased the price of the PureHands Hand Sanitizers. According to them the price of the sanitizers has been increased illegally by unauthorized third-party sellers while denying any association with the unscrupulous sellers in any way. The company said, “These are illegal practices and must be dealt with firmly in accordance with the law.”

The shortage and the steeping prices have spurred people to begin making their own hand sanitizer. Many social media platforms and blogs such as Twitter, Pinterest and many more are sharing the recipes for homemade sanitizers. According to health experts, cleaning your hands with hand sanitizer is not the most effective way, it is recommended to wash your hands with disinfectant liquid soap or a normal soap using water.

This practice is the most recommended and effective way of removing certain kinds of germs such as Coronavirus. Secondly just because there are homemade recipes for hand sanitizers does mean you should follow them as these don’t actually work because some of you might not get the concentration right. Experts have warned this practice which is not at all effective and also the results are too harsh If you don’t get the right ratio of ingredients. 

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, “Alcohol-based hand sanitizers can quickly reduce the number of microbes on hands in some situations, but sanitizers do not eliminate all types of germs.” It is recommended to use if soap and water are not available, using a hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol can help you avoid getting sick and spreading germs to others.

DxOMark declared Oppo Find X2 as No 1 in its camera tests, surpassed Mi 10 Pro

On Friday the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oppo launched its two mobile handsets in the market Oppo Find X2 and Oppo Find X2 Pro. Both the smartphones are photographic centric phones and it well competes with the newly launched Samsung Galaxy S20 series and Xiaomi’s Mi 10 Pro. Now DxOMark has rolled out their camera test review of the Oppo Find X2 Pro and it has scored 124 points.

The test score of Oppo Find X2 Pro is identical to last month’s launched Mi 10 Pro. Last month it also reviewed the Mi 10 Pro which was declared as the best camera phone by DxOMark. The Oppo latest offering joins the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro in the top spot of the DXOMARK Camera rankings.

According to the website the Find X2 Pro never disappointed whether you shoot on a sunny day outside or in a dimly-lit restaurant, or shoot with the ultra-wide-angle or the 5x zoom, or record a bokeh shot or a 4K video clip. The device’s camera has excellent autofocus, it delivers nice colours and a wide dynamic range and low noise in low light conditions also. Additionally, Oppo Find X2 Pro camera set up will provide good detailing in close and long-range zoom shots, the ultra-wide images are nice but with little distortions. It delivers realistic bokeh shots with a wide dynamic range. Taking about the cons the website mentions that the HDR sometimes does not trigger portrait shots, especially indoors, detail drops towards the edges of medium-range zoom shots and it slightly lacks detail in ultra-wide shots.

Oppo launched Find X2 Pro in China on Friday in a single variant of  12GB RAM and 512GB storage at EUR 1,199 that translates to Rs 1,67,300. he smartphone is also offered in two versions Black (Ceramic) and Orange (Vegan Leather).

The device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor with Adreno 650 GPU and 12GB of RAM with 512GB storage. It runs ColorOS 7.1 on top of Android 10. Find X2 Pro comes with a 6.7-inch QHD+ Ultra Vision display offering a 120Hz refresh rate. It features a triple rear camera set up that includes two 48 megapixel cameras sensors one a primary and a secondary ultra-wide-angle lens along with a 13-megapixel telephoto lens. On the front, there is a 32-megapixel selfie camera. The handset houses a 4,260mAh battery supported by 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 Flash Charge tech.

HMD Global has announced that it will be hosting an event on March 19 where it will be unveiling new devices. The Company has scheduled the event in London. Moreover, the company will also be introducing its first 5G phone at the event. However, the company has not officially revealed anything about its upcoming 5G smartphone even its name also. 

According to the company, Nokia’s 5G smartphone will be unveiled on March 19 in London. Alongside the 5G ready phone, the company will also introduce three rumoured smartphones namely Nokia 8.2 5G, Nokia 5.2(codenamed Captain America), and Nokia 1.3 that was planned to launch at the  MWC 2020 in Barcelona. But Finnish smartphone maker said that the launch has been delayed due to the ongoing crisis of the coronavirus outbreak in China.

As per some rumours, the Nokia’s 5G ready phone will debut as Nokia 8.2 5G. Also, you can get the first glimpse of Nokia’s 5G handset in the 90-second video teaser of the upcoming James Bond film, No Time To Die to drop on March 8. The phone is seen in the hands of gent Nomi – played by Lashana Lynch who uses Google Assistant to bring up photos, navigation directions and send text messages with the command of her voice.

According to TechRadar, Nokia device will have a notch in the centre to house a selfie camera. The device will be featuring a bigger display with a noticeable chin and the company’s logo engraved on it. The publisher has also shared some of the pictures.

On the rear, it has a large circular camera module to house four cameras that have been placed around a centralised flash. Just below the camera set up, the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner can be seen, so this phone has no in-display fingerprint sensor. Oppo Watch with curved flexible AMOLED display launched: Details

Oppo Watch company’s first smartwatch has been launched. The company launched the smartwatch at an event in China. The device was to be unveiled at the MWC but had to delay the launch amid Coronavirus spread. The watch comes in two sizes 1mm and 46mm along with an AMOLED display, curved glass and square-ish screen. The Oppo Watch also supports eSIM and is available in two colour options. Oppo Watch has been finally revealed. The smartwatch will be available with fluoro rubber strap three colour variants black, gold and silver. It comes in two different sizes  41mm and 46mm. The 41mm size option comes with a price tag of CNY 1,499 that translates to RS 15,000. Whereas the 46mm size option will be available in two frame material choices aluminium and stainless steel. The aluminium frame will be offered in black and gold with fluoro rubber straps that have been priced at CNY 1,999 that translates to Rs 20,000.

Whereas the stainless steel variant will be offered in a single silver colour option Italian calf leather skin strap at CNY 2,499 that translates to Rs 25,000.

It will be available for purchase from March 24 in its home town China. However, there is no word from the company when the wearable is coming to other regions of the world.

Oppo Watch features a curved flexible AMOLED display with two physical buttons.  The 46mm chassis features a  1.91-inch OLED screen offering 402 x 473 pixels of resolution along with 326ppi pixel density. Whereas the 41mm chassis comes with a  1.6-inch AMOLED display with 320×360 pixels resolution. The wearable runs on a custom version of Oppo’s ColorOS skin and is based on Google’s Wear OS. The watch is compatible with Android devices only. 

The Oppo Watch is supported by Oppo’s latest VOOC fast-charging, that claims to charge the Oppo smartwatch from zero to 46 per cent in just 15 minutes. On a full charge, it lasts up to 40 hours with normal usage or up to 21 days with built-in power-saving mode. It comes with various fitness tracking features, music playback, heart rate monitoring, water-resistance up to 50 meters, and eSIM support. The Oppo Watch is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2500 SoC and switches to Apollo processor when it is put on power saving mode along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage.  The 46mm variant features a 5ATM water resistance rating whereas the 41mm variant is rated 3ATM. The Oppo Watch with 41MM packs a 300mAh battery whereas the 46mm variant houses 430mAh battery.

  • Then take a clean lint-free microfiber cloth or you can also use the one you get to wipe your spectacle lenses. Now moisten it using some rubbing alcohol or a hand sanitizer. Or you can use pre-moistened lens cleaning wipes which are available at a drugstore, opticians or you can also buy them online.
  • Now carefully wipe your phone’s display screen, also do not forget to wipe the side of your phone.
  • Now take a cotton swab or bud and moisten it using the rubbing alcohol. Then clean your charging port and headphone jack. Also, remove the microSD slot or SIM slot and wipe it using the buds.
  • The plastic cover can be washed using soap and warm water. 
  • The leather covers can be wiped clean using the wipes.
  • Before fitting the covers let them dry completely.
  • After this put them back together and turn on your phone.
  • Also, wipe your earphones or headphones and try using them as much as you can to make a call so that the Coronavirus does not transfer from your face to other parts of the body.

Additionally, it dons an all-glass body. Yes, the handset comes with a 3D glass finish rear panel. It also includes a triple rear camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary camera sensor.

The company launched Infinix S5 Pro in the country in a single variant of 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage. The device will be available at Rs 9,999 via the e-commerce platform Flipkart. The handset will go on its first sale on March 13 at 12 noon onwards. The smartphone comes in two colour options Forest Green and Violet.

Under the hood, there is a 2.3 GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 processor with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage which can be further extended to 256GB using a microSD card. Besides this, it features a fingerprint sensor and Face Unlock. It comes equipped with a 4,000 mAh battery.

In terms of imaging, Infinix S5 Pro features three cameras on the back panel. The set up consists of a 48-megapixel primary camera with f/1.79 aperture, a 2-megapixel depth lens and a dedicated low-light sensor. The set up supports Auto Scene Detection and 3D Body Shaping feature among others. While on the front there is a 16-megapixel pop-up selfie camera with  f/2.0 aperture that gets auto-retracted in case the phone drops. The company claims that it can be opened 50 times a day for more than 8 years.

Oppo Find X2 and Find X2 Pro launched with 120Hz display: Details

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oppo has finally launched its flagship smartphones before the world. The company launched Oppo Find X2 and Find X2 Pro that offers a display with 120Hz of refresh rate. While the camera supports 10x hybrid zoom and up to 60x digital zoom. To recall the smartphone was planned to be unveiled at the MWC last month but had to cancel the plan because of the Coronavirus spread. But today in Beijing the company launched both the smartphones that will take on Samsung Galaxy S20 series. Read on to know more about the newly launched devices.

Oppo Find X2 series pricing

Today in Beijing the Oppo launched two devices Find X2 and Find X2 Pro. The standard model comes at EUR 999 that translates to Rs  83,400 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The phone comes in two versions Black (Ceramic) and Ocean (Glass). The Pro variant will be available at  EUR 1,199 that translates to Rs 1,67,300 for the 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. The smartphone is also offered in two versions Black (Ceramic) and Orange (Vegan Leather). The device will be available in the European market in the first week of May.

Oppo Find X2 specifications

Oppo Find X2 features a  6.7-inch QHD+ with 1440×3168 pixels of resolution  Ultra Vision display. It supports 120Hz refresh rate and up to 240Hz touch sampling rate and has Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. It runs on  ColorOS 7.1 based on Android 10 and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of non-expandable storage.

In terms of cameras. The phone has a triple rear camera set up which includes a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor with  f/1.7 aperture. Further aided by a 12-megapixel Sony IMX708 sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 13-megapixel sensor with f/2.4 aperture. It comes with a 32-megapixel selfie camera with  f/2.4 aperture.

On the connectivity front, it includes 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C. Whereas sensor on the phone includes an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, magnetometer, colour temperature sensor, and proximity sensor. The Oppo smartphone packs a 4,200mAh battery supported by  65W SuperVOOC 2.0 Flash Charge technology.

Oppo Find X2 Pro is the top-end model from the series that is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor with Adreno 650 GPU and 12GB of RAm with 512GB non-expandable memory. It runs ColorOS 7.1 on top of Android 10. The latest device features a 6.7-inch QHD+ Ultra Vision display offering a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. Moreover, the display supports a pixel density of 513ppi and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection.

For photos and videos, Oppo Find X2 Pro triple rear camera set up supports features like Dual Native ISO, 12-bit True Capture, Ultra Night Mode 3.0, Ultra Steady Video Pro and  4K video recording. The setup includes a 48-megapixel Sony IMX689 sensor with f/1.7 aperture, another 48-megapixel secondary ultra-wide-angle lens with 120 degrees of field view and  f/2.2 lens and lastly a 13-megapixel telephoto lens with f/3.0 aperture. 

In terms of connectivity, Find X2 Pro will include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS/A-GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C port. The sensor includes an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, magnetometer, colour temperature sensor, and proximity sensor. The handset houses a 4,260mAh battery supported by 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 Flash Charge tech.

We are very well aware that Xiaomi is going to launch its newly launched Mi 10 series in India soon. Last month the company launched its top-notch smartphone Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro in its home market China. Soon after the launch of the series Xiaomi’s head, Manu Kumar Jain indicated that the smartphone is coming to the Indian market soon. The device comes with camera-centric features and Mi 10 Pro has been declared as the best camera phone by DxOMark. 

Xiaomi’s head, Manu Kumar Jain dropped the hint that the phone will arrive in the Indian market but he did not reveal the official launch date of the series. Now according to a leak by tipster Ishan Agarwal confirmed that the company is planning to bring the smartphone to India. According to him, Xiaomi will be offering Mi 10 in two variants 8GB of RAM with 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM with 256GB of storage. The tipster says that the phone will be available in two colour options Coral Green and Twilight Grey. 

However other than that nothing has been revealed about the top-notch variant that is Mi 10 Pro. Except, Mr Jain did mention in his earlier tweet that the phone would be a bit pricier in the Indian market because according to him making such a device requires state of the art facilities, which are not available in India. We will have to import 100% of units if we launch the Mi 10 in India. Hence, it will have a different pricing model than usual.

To recall Xiaomi launched Mi 10 series in China in mid of February. In the country the company launched Mi 10 in three variants 8GB RAM + 128G storage at  CNY 3,999 (approximately Rs 40,000), 8GB RAM + 256GB storage option at CNY 4,299 (approximately Rs 43,000) whereas the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model costs CNY 4,699 (approximately Rs 47,000). 

In China Mi 10 Pro is also available in three options 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant is available at CNY 4,999 (approximately Rs 50,000), 12GB + 256GB version at CNY 5,499 (approximately Rs 55,000) lastly the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage model at CNY 5,999 (approximately Rs 60,000).

Motorola has done quite well in the low budget and mid-range segments by launching Moto G series and Motorola One series as well as E series in the market. Last year the Lenovo owned company made a comeback in the flagship market with the launch of its foldable smartphone Moto Razr. Now this year the company is planning to launch another flagship phone that is Motorola Edge+. The smartphone has been in the news for a very long time now and another leak has landed on the internet. 

In a new development, CAD-based renders of the Motorola Edge+ have been leaked on the internet which displays the phone from the angle. The leaked renders revealed that story behind the naming of the smartphone. As the name suggests this time the company will be offing the flagship smartphone with a waterfall display that falls perfectly around the edges.

Moreover, the front display features a small hole-punch on the top left corner to equip a selfie camera. While the rear panel will be seen flaunting triple cameras placed inside a pill-shaped camera module on the top left corner of the phone. Just beside the camera setup, there is an LED flash and in the center, you can notice a Motorola Logo. There is no rear fingerprint sensor so it confirms that the phone will include an in-display fingerprint scanner.

On the bottom of the device, there is a SIM card slot, USB-C port and a speaker grill and however, we could not find the 3.5mm headphone jack this might be on the top. While on the side panel the device has a power button and volume rocker unlike other devices with waterfall displays. 

Moto Edge+

Previously it was reported that the phone might offer a 6.67-inches display with a 2340 x 1080 pixel resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The device is likely to be powered by Snapdragon 865 for the 5G connectivity paired with 8 or 12GB of RAM. According to some reports, Motorola Edge+ will have a 5,169mAh battery, but there is no word on fast charging output and will run on Android 10.

Xiaomi and Realme are two very popular Chinese brands in India. And every now and then they both are into a duel on so many reasons whether they launch a new smartphone or when the rep says something. Both brands are always involved in a tug of war on Twitter. 

To recall, Xiaomi, as well as Realme representatives, were seen attacking each other when Poco India general manager Chandolu Manmohan slammed Realme by calling it a “real copycat brand.” To this Realme’s Chief Madhav Sheth replied by telling him to behave. The Poco’s executive has now been blocked by both @realmemobiles and Madhav Sheth.

This war of words does not stop here, yesterday Realme launched its new smartphone series in the country while introducing the phone Madhav Sheth said: “We do not want to compare with anyone else”. To this again C Manmohan attacked Realme by accusing him of copying. His tweet reads, “We do not want to compare with anyone else” The brand that spent its entire life copying from others and comparing with others is now preaching morality.”

The recently launched Realme X50 5G seems like another copy of Xiaomi’s Smartphone. Yes, you guessed right, we are talking about Redmi K30 5G. Both have a 120Hz LCD display, dual selfie camera, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 64megapixel quad-camera setup, however, the processor is different but offers 5G connectivity

Furthermore, Realme has aped Xiaomi in terms of design aspects, marketing as well as pricing. The company launched Realme Buds Air Pro which is a copy of Xiaomi’s Truly wireless earbuds and again Xiaomi copied this from Apple’s AirPods. Yesterday Realme launched a low price fitness band in India that is another copy of Xiaomi’s Mi Band. Keeping up with the trends now Realme is preparing to launch a Realme TV very soon in India. 

We think rather than copying other brands and mocking each other the company should concentrate on their business as otherwise, this will only lead to negative marketing, which is not a good sign. Both the companies are at a position where these things do not suit them. And blocking each other is not the solution, healthy competition is.

Oppo has been teasing its upcoming smartwatch for a long time now. The company will be unveiling Oppo Watch today in Beijing alongside its new flagship series Oppo Find X2. Previously the smartphone, as well as the smartwatch, was planned to launch at this year’s MWC in Barcelona. But due to Coronavirus spread the trade show had to be canceled and now the company will launch both the device today in China. Ahead of the launch, many leaks have appeared on the web that revealed the specifications of the Watch. Now a leakster from China has revealed the full specs of the Oppo Watch.

A Chinese leakster claims that the upcoming Oppo Watch will be featuring a  1.91-inches curved display. He took to Webio to further reveal that the smartwatch will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2500 chipset. Additionally, to improve its battery life it is integrated with the Apollo 3 chip. Furthermore, it is also revealed that the wearable will support heart rate monitor as well as an electrocardiogram (ECG) and up to 5ATM waterproof that we have already seen on Apple’s Watch Series 4, Watch Series 5, Amazefit Verge 2 as well as on Samsung Galaxy Active 2. The pricing of the Oppo Watch has also been revealed according to him the watch is likely to be priced at CYN 2000 that translates to Rs 21,200.

Recently the company itself revealed the shades it will be offered in. The device will sport a silicone strap that will come in black and gold variants which we have already seen in the previous leaks. According to some reports, the device will support voice call functionality. And to support this feature it will use an eSIM. In terms of design, the Oppo watch will look to the Apple Watch. The company VP revealed that the watch will be featuring a curved screen and 3D glass. On the sides, there will be two physical buttons just like Apple Watch. It would sport metal edges in gold and silver colours along with a  silicone strap.

The company recently shared the three images of the upcoming watch that revealed that it is going to sport a hyperbolic flexible screen technology. The first image shows that the smartwatch over a waterfall and the water is flowing from the edges. This reveals that it is going to feature a curved display. However, nothing much has been revealed by the company yet we should wait until the phone officially gets launched.

Oppo is all set to launch its new smartphone globally today Oppo Find X2. The company’s first smartwatch Oppo Watch is going to make its debut that looks exactly like Apple Watch. Even before its official launch both the smartphone has been part of the rumour mills and leaks. In the latest development the upcoming smartphone’s full specs, images and pricing have been leaked on the web. 

Previously the company planned to unveil Oppo Find X2 at the MWC Barcelona event but got postponed following threats over coronavirus. But now the company will be introducing the phone via an online launch at 5 PM, Beijing time (2.30 PM IST). The new series will include Find X2 and Find X2 Pro.

Prior to its official launch, a new leak has surfaced on the internet which reveals the specifications and pricing of both the smartphones. According to the online publisher GSMArena the Oppo Find X2 Pro is going to feature a 6.7-inch OLED display that will be offering 1440×3168 pixels of resolution with 20:9 aspect ratio, 120Hz refresh rate. While the display screen is protected with a layer of Gorilla Glass 6.

According to the report, the phone will be available in ceramic (for the Ceramic Black colorway) and an orange version with vegan leather. The ceramic variant will weigh 207g, while the leather one scales at 200g. It is going to measure 165.2 x 74.4 mm. The ceramic version will be 8.8 mm thick while the leather variant thickness will be 9.5 mm as well as dust resistant.

It is stated that the Oppo Find X2 Pro will be powered by Snapdragon 865 chipset with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.0 storage, however, the memory is not expandable. The phone will run on the latest ColorOS skin on top of Android 10 out of the box. The phone will be supporting 5G connectivity and it is going to house a 4,260 mAh battery with 65W charger support. 

Coming to the cameras, It is stated that the phone will include a 48 megapixel Sony IMX689 1/1.43″ sensor with 1.12 µm pixel size, dual-pixel autofocus, and OIS. It is likely to include a Quad-Bayer sensor. Also, it will include another 48 megapixels Sony  IMX586 sensor along with 13-megapixel zoom cameras with OIS and 1 µm pixel size. There will be 5X optical zoom, where combined with other sensors will enable 10x hybrid zoom along with 60x digital zoom. While on the front there will be a 32-megapixel selfie camera.

It is expected to come with a price tag of €1,199 that translates to Rs 99,610.

Coming to the base variant that is Oppo Find X2 is going to have a similar display missed out the ceramic and leather back panel instead it is going to have a Gorilla Glass 6. The device will offer a non-expandable 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage. The smartphone will pack a 4,200 mAh and will be available in two colour options black and blue. It has an IP54 certification which means it is dust and splash resistant and the Dimensions are 164.9 x 74.5 x 8 mm, and it weighs 196g.

This smartphone has a different camera set up. It includes a 48 megapixel Sony IMX 586 assisted by a 12 megapixel ultrawide with 1.4µm pixel size, a 13-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and 20x digital zoom. It is said that the smartphone is going to cost 82,949.

The Chinese smartphone brand Huawei has launched a new smartphone in the market. The company has launched Huawei P40 Lite E even before the launch of its other siblings Huawei P40 and Huawei P40 Pro. Huawei is going to introduce both the smartphone later this month on March 26. Huawei P40 Lite E comes with a triple rear camera and a hole-punch display. It packs a 4000mAh battery and is powered by an octa-core Kirin 810 SoC.

The company has expanded its P40 series by launching Huawei P40 Lite E in the market. The device will be available in a single RAM and storage variant. The 4GB RAM with a 64GB storage option can be purchased at PLN 699 that translates to Rs 13,300. The Huawei smartphone will be offered in two colour options Black and Aurora Blue.

The device has been launched in Poland and will soon make its way to other regions. Later last month the company quietly launched Huawei P40 Lite that comes with a quad rear camera setup and is powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 810 SoC. However, the company is going to unveil its Huawei P40 series at an event on March 26 in Paris.

Huawei P40 Lite E comes with a 6.39-inch LCD IPS display with 720 x 1,560 pixels of resolution. The device is powered by in house octa-core Kirin 810 processor with Mali G51-MP4 GPU. It comes with four Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.7GHz. Moreover, the company offers the phone with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The internal storage can be expanded up to 512GB using a microSD card.

Talking about the camera capabilities Huawei P40 Lite E features a triple rear camera setup vertically placed on the top left corner. The camera system consists of a 48-megapixel sensor with f/1.8 aperture with an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle sensor with f/2.4 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The smartphone sports an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for taking selfies and video calling.

The sensors on the phone include  Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n support, Bluetooth v5.0, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a Micro-USB charging port and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Huawei smartphone houses a 4,000mAh battery that is supported by a 10W charger. The Huawei smartphone measures 159.81×76.13×8.13mm and it weighs 176 grams.

Xiaomi’s spin-off Poco made a comeback in the tech industry with the launch of its second smartphone Poco X2. In terms of specifications both Realme 6 Pro and Poco are very much similar. Both Poco and 6 Pro offer dual selfie cameras but Poco has a better setup up but in terms of rear cameras Realme leads here. Realme comes with a single selfie camera and to compensate the company has provided a 32-megapixel front-facing camera. All the three smartphones are powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 730G chipset. Both the Realme smartphone’s costing is also the same. But Poco offers you its smartphone at a much cheaper price. Realme Band with real-time heart rate monitor and 9 sports modes launched in India today

Today Realme unveiled its first fitness band with a real-time heart rate and sleep monitor in India. The company launched the Realme Band that has a 2.4cm colour screen and includes five dial faces. The smartwatch comes with lots of features including nine sports modes to track daily activities. It also shows notifications of your connected smartphone and it also comes with USB Direct Charge support. Read on to know more about its pricing, availability and features.

Realme Band pricing and availability details

Realme band has been launched in India with a price tag of Rs 1,499. The smartwatch will be offered in three colour options Black, Green and Yellow. The fitness band will be available today for purchase for a limited period of as a part of Hate to Wait Sale from 2 PM onwards. And will be going on open sale in the country from March 9 from 12 noon onward via Realme.com website. 

Realme Band specifications and features

Realme Band is the company’s first fitness band to be launched in the country. The Band comes with a 2.4cm colour screen with 80×160 pixels resolution. The device includes five dial faces and its brightness can be adjusted by pairing it with the Realme Link app. The watch can be operated through a touch button provided on the display. The dial faces can be customised with the help of the app.

The Realme Band supports 9 sports modes in order to track the user’s daily activity. It includes yoga, running, spinning, walking, fitness, hiking, climbing, biking and even cricket. It is capable of storing any three out of 9 sport modes. The company is offering a dedicated cricket mode that has been specially designed for India to get detailed statistics about the activity.

Realme Band price

The Realme Fitness Band comes with an IP68 rating that makes it dirt dust and water-resistant so that you can work out even during rains. It features a built-in PPG optical heart rate sensor that is capable of measuring the user’s real-time heart rate every 5 minutes. Whereas the Sleep quality monitor can keep a track on your heart rate, and can analyse sleep quality and can also generate a report which helps the user monitor their sleeping pattern.

Interestingly another feature called Idle alert on the smartwatch will automatically remind the user to move or take a walk when sitting for long hours. Over that, it helps the user keep track of their water intake at regular intervals and keep them hydrated and healthy by alerting them to drink some water.

The 3 axis accelerometer sensor will wake up whenever you lift your wrist. With the smart notification feature which includes apps Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, Gmail, Twitter and lots more. With the help of USB Direct charge support you can charge your Realme Band by directly plugging it in a USB port and it automatically turns off when it’s either charging or the battery level is less than 3 per cent.

Hackers are now using gaming apps to spoof consumers: McAfee

Now a new report has surfaced on the internet that proves that hackers sneak into your smartphones via hidden mobile apps. These seal your important information and data from your device and remain hidden inside your smartphone

According to a new mobile threat report 2020 by McAfee that discovered that nowadays hackers have found a new way to sneak into your devices with the help of hidden mobile apps, third-party login and counterfeit gaming videos to target consumers. It stated that last year hackers targeted consumers with a wide variety of methods, from backdoors to mining cryptocurrencies. 

McAfee found out that hackers have expanded the ways of hiding their attacks, making them increasingly difficult to identify and remove, which makes it seem like 2020 will be the year of mobile sneak attacks. 

The hidden apps are known to be the most active mobile threat that has been generating almost 50 percent of all malicious activities in 2019- a 30% increase from 2018. These keep on targeting the consumers via those apps they spend the most time on- their devices. Hidden apps take advantage of unsuspecting consumers in voluminous ways, this also includes evoking the consumers to use third-party login services or serving unwanted ads. 

Venkat Krishnapur, Vice-President of Engineering and Managing Director, McAfee India said, “Mobile devices hold the key to our lives – both corporate and personal. Unfortunately, they are also amongst the easiest attack vectors for cybercriminals because consumer awareness levels towards the security of their devices and apps are low. Hidden apps have emerged as the most active mobile threat category and it’s highly advisable consumers stay vigilant with regards to where they download applications from, what they click and also ensure they use the right security software on their devices, to enable detection and protection of their digital lives.”

According to the report, the hacker makes the most of the increasing popularity of gaming by circulating vicious apps by providing links in popular gamer chat apps and cheat videos by creating their own content containing links to fake apps. These apps pretend as genuine with icons that exactly mimic those of the real apps but set out unwanted ads while collecting user’s data. These malicious apps include FaceApp, Spotify and Call of Duty that also have fake versions that are trying to victimize unsuspecting consumers, especially younger users.  

McAfee also discovered that new information on mobile malware dubbed LeifAccess, also known as Shopper. It is a malware and makes use of the accessibility features in Android to create accounts, download apps, and post reviews using names and emails configured on the victim’s device. These apps are being widely distributed through social media, gaming platforms, malvertising, and gamer chat apps. Fake warnings are used to get the user to activate accessibility services, enabling the full range of the malware’s capabilities. 

Also, a series of   South Korean transit apps, implicated a fake library and plugin that could extract confidential files, called MalBus. According to the research the attack was hidden in a verified south Korean transit app by hacking the original developer’s Google Play account. This leads to passing a range of information for each region of South Korea, such as bus stop locations, route maps, and schedule times for more than 5 years.

Hacks to protect your privacy as well as important data:

  • While most of these malicious apps make through social media, fake ads, and other unofficial app sources So, before you download any app do some quick research. Try to find out about the source and developer. Many of these have been flagged by other users.
  • Secondly, read reviews to know if the app is genuine or not. Look out for reviews that reuse the same simple phrases that are an indication of fake reviews and this might be a suspicious app.
  • Use far-reaching security software on all your devices such as computers, tablets, or smartphones which will keep your data safe from cyberthreats.
  • All your apps should be frequently updated so that they have the latest fixes and security protections.
  • Try using an ID monitoring tool that will keep you well aware of the changes or actions which you did not make. These may have been caused by malware and could indicate that your phone or account has been compromised.

Today the Chinese smartphone company Realme launched in India via online launch. The company had to cancel the launch event due to Coronavirus spread in the country and ultimately had to adjust by launching its new Realme 6 Series via webcast.  The company today introduced two smartphones Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro. According to the company the phone is being manufactured in India and will be available via online and offline retailers simultaneously. In the coming months, the device will reach other parts of the world.

The company also revealed that Realme 6 Pro will have support for ISRO developed NavIC out of the box as it is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 720G chipset. Alongside the company also launched its first fitness band called Realme Band in India.

Pricing and availability

The company launched Realme 6 in three RAM and storage variants. The 4GB RAM with 64GB storage option comes with a price tag of Rs 16,999, while the 6GB RAM with 64GB storage model comes at Rs 14,999 and the 8GB RAM with 128GB memory option will be available at Rs 15,999. The device will be offered in two colour options: Comet Blue and Comet White. This model will go on sale in the country on March 11 at 12 noon onwards.

Realme 6 Pro will be offered in three storage and RAm options. The 6GB RAM with 64GB storage can be bought at Rs 16,999 while the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage comes at Rs 17,999 and the 8GB RAM with128GB storage will cost you Rs 18,999. It will be available in two colour variants: Lightning Blue and Lightning Orange. The smartphone will go on sale in the country from March 13 at 12 noon onward. Both Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro can be purchased via e-commerce platform Flipkart, Realme.com and offline retailers in the country.

Realme 6 specifications

Realme 6 features a  6.5-inch full-HD+ Ultra Smooth hole-punch display with 1080×2400 pixels of resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. It offers 90 Hz of refresh rate and 90.5 percent screen-to-body ratio. The handset runs on Realme UI on top of Android 10. Under the hood, there is an octa-core MediaTek Helio G90T processor paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage that can be expanded up to 256Gb via microSD card. 

On the imaging front, there is a quad rear camera set up that includes Samsung GW1 64-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture. Furthermore, there is an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.3 aperture, a 2-megapixel depth sensor with  f/2.4 aperture and a 2-megapixel macro lens with f/2.4 aperture. On the front Realme 6 sports a 16-megapixel selfie camera with  f/2.0 aperture. The device comes with a 4,300mAh battery with 30W Flash Charge tech.

Realme 6 Pro specifications

Realme 6 Pro is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 720G processor with Adreno 618 GPU. The chipset is paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The internal memory can be expanded up to 256G with the help of a microSD card. The device runs on Realme UI based on the top of Android 10. It features a bigger 6.6-inch full-HD+ Ultra Smooth with dual hole-punch display and 90HZ of refresh rate. It offers 1080×2400 pixels of resolutions with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a 90.6 percent screen-to-body ratio. The display is protected with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

Realme 6 Pro equips a quad rear camera set up consisting of a 64-megapixel Samsung GW1 main sensor with  f/1.8 aperture. It is further assisted by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.3 aperture, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with 20X hybrid zoom and f/2.5 aperture and a 2-megapixel macro lens with f/2.4 aperture. The camera setup supports 4K video recording. On the front display, there is a dual camera set up that includes a  16-megapixel main sensor and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens.

In terms of connectivity, the smartphone includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS/ A-GPS, NavIC, and a USB Type-C port. Whereas sensors on the phone include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, and proximity sensor.

The handset houses a 4,300mAh battery that is supported by 30W VOOC Flash Charge 4.0 fast charging technology.

MediaTek and Samsung launched  World’s First Wi-Fi 6 8K TV

MediaTek and Samsung introduced its first 8K QLED TV before the world. The company launched the Samsung 8K QLED Y20 model (Q950, Q900) that comes equipped with MediaTek Wi-Fi 6 chipset. The new range of 8K TVs starts from 55 inches and goes up to 98 inches in size. Wi-Fi 6 is said to be the newest wireless standard with higher transmission throughout while saving on power, translating to smoother 8K streaming capabilities.

According to the company, the 8K delivers 4 times the resolution of 4K and 16 times the resolution of HD that transforms flat images into deeper for a more natural viewing experience. 

“Samsung is a long-standing strategic partner of MediaTek, and its consistent drive to innovate has allowed MediaTek to continue to bring industry-leading IC solutions, like our Wi-Fi 6 family to market,” said Jerry Yu, MediaTek Corporate Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Intelligent Devices Business Group. “Samsung is driving the growth of the premium smart TV segment and collaborating with them on Wi-Fi 6 and 8K is just the start of strong global demand for advanced connectivity and Wi-Fi 6 solutions.”

Samsung’s  8K QLED TV comes in six screen sizes 55 inches, 65 inches, 75 inches, 82 inches, 85 inches and 98 inches. 

Samsung 8K QLED 55 inches model comes at $2,499.99 which translates to Rs 1,83,043 while the 65 inches TV comes with a price tag of $3,499 that translates to Rs2,56,083 and the 75 inches model can be bought at $4499.99 that comes around Rs 3,29,433. The Television with a screen size of 82 inches will be available at $6,999.99 which translates to Rs 5,12,066 whereas 98 inches model costs $59,999.99 that translates to Rs 43,93,049. The website does not mention the pricing of the 82 inches model.

The company has also started taking the pre-booking orders for two models of the 8K QLED range. In India, Samsung will be offering the 75 inches and 82 inches model that comes with a price tag of Rs 9,40,500 and Rs 13,79,400 respectively. You can register the TV via Samsung E-store in the country.

Denmark-based Jabra, a well-known brand in the audio industry has refreshed its wireless earbuds series in India. A subsidiary of GN Netcom that manufactures wireless headphones and earbuds has launched Elite Active 75t earbuds expanding its Elite 75t earbuds line up. The company claims that the new earbuds have been designed for the people with an active lifestyle with an ergonomic fit providing optimal noise isolation.

To recall last year in December the company launched its new series of Elite 75t Truly wireless earbuds in the country and today the company has added another pair of wireless earbuds to the series. According to the company the newly launched Elite Active 75t earbuds are 22 percent smaller than its predecessor Elite Active 65t.

The Elite Active 75t earbuds include different sizes of ear tips for a perfect fit and provide passive noise isolation for a better sound experience. The company stated, “The user has the option of being totally immersed in their music or calls. Alternatively, they can use the HearThrough activation to let sound in when needed.”

Elite 75t Truly wireless earbuds

The company assures that from the second quarter it will be introducing new features via a fresh software update. Jabra MySound will let the user customise their audio experience as per their liking with the help of the Jabra Sound+ app. While the MyControls feature will let you use just one earbud which will extend the battery life. The Jabra Sound+ app will allow the user to configure the functions on the left and right earbud to meet their personal preferences. 

Pricing and availability

Jabra Elite Active 75t will be available via e-commerce platform Amazon from March 11 onwards. Whereas it can be purchased through other platforms such as  Croma, Flipkart and other authorized retailers from April 3. It will be available in six colors: Navy, Copper Black (Amazon exclusive), Titanium Black, Grey, Sienna and Mint. The Jabra earbuds can be bought with a price tag of Rs 16,999.

The series will include two devices Realme 6 and Realme 6 Pro. The Pro smartphone offers a 90Hz display and will be powered by a Qualcomm processor. While the standard model comes with a MediaTek chipset. Besides this, at the same event, the company is speculated to launch its first Realme Band. 

Realme 6 Series expected pricing and how to watch the Livestream

Earlier the company planned a launch event in New Delhi but amid Coronavirus fear Realme has now cancelled its plan instead it will be introducing the phone via online launch. The launch event will be live-streamed via the company’s official YouTube Channel. Until now the original pricing of both the smartphone is still unknown. But ahead of the launch, a report surfaced on the web which revealed the pricing of the smartphones. As per the report, the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage model of Realme 6 Pro price will start at Rs 13,999 whereas Realme 6 is expected to come at Rs 9,999. It is anticipated that as the new series is the successor of Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro it is going to come with similar pricing. The e-commerce website Flipkart is the official online sale partner of the upcoming Realme smartphone as it is being teased on its platform also. It is also rumoured to come in two distinct colours Green and Purple according to some leaks. Else all the information related to the product will be affirmed by the company during the launch event.

Realme 6 Series expected specifications

It is confirmed that both the phones Realme 6and Realme 6 Pro will be offering a  full HD+ display with 90Hz refresh rate with a hole punch housing a selfie camera. The standard model will have a single punch-hole display while the Pro variant is going to feature a dual-hole punch screen to equip dual selfie cameras. Both the phone’s battery will be supported by a 30W flash charge tech.

In addition to this, there will be a quad rear camera placed vertically inside a pill-shaped camera module on both the smartphones. The teasers reveal that the camera system will be including a 64-megapixel primary sensor along with an ultra-wide lens, a telephoto lens and an ultra macro lens. 

Realme Band expected specifications

Alongside its new line up of smartphones, the company will also bring its first wearable device to the Indian market. The company will be launching the Realme Band at the same event. The company revealed that the fitness band will include nine sports modes – biking, running, walking, hiking, climbing, yoga, fitness, spinning and cricket. The cricket mode will be especially offered in India because of its popularity. The band will also include a sleep monitoring feature that will measure deep and light sleep. It will also include a built-in USB Direct Charge port to let users plug the capsule into any adapter in order to charge the band.

The Realme Band will also include features such as smart notifications, calls, reminders, text and SMS. Also, the Realme fitness band is IP68 water and dust resistant. The smart wearable will come integrated with a real-time heart rate monitor and will come with a curved and colour display. It will be offered in three colour options Yellow, Olive Green, and Black.
